The study investigates high fluoride concentrations in groundwater in Harbhanga block of Boudh district, Orissa, revealing three types of water based on chemical analysis: nahco3, ca(hco3)2, and mixed type. It identifies geological sources like amphibole minerals and cryolite as probable contributors to fluoride levels, with high fluoride concentrations particularly observed in nahco3 type waters. The findings recommend using deep bore wells as a safer alternative for domestic water to mitigate health risks associated with high fluoride exposure.
