This document discusses the dynamic characteristics of thyristors, specifically the turn on time which includes delay time, rise time, and spread time. Delay time is when the gate current increases from 90-100% and anode current rises from leakage to 10% of its final value. Rise time is when anode current increases from 10-90% of its final value while anode voltage decreases from 90-10% of its initial value. Spread time is when anode current increases from 90-100% of its final value and anode voltage decreases to its minimum value, fully turning the thyristor on.
