MainTargets:
Video:
• Push editing further to meet conventions
• Lighting is a major problem
• Ancillaries:
• Re-create photos with image strength of previous draft
• Re-take photos with better lighting and same location
Locations
‘The Underground’ –The video
Base track, dance and filler shots
will be filmed here.
‘Faces’ –The videos base tracks will
be filmed here, utilizing the graffiti
using the black, white and red
theme we want to keep across all
products.
Ancillary backgrounds will
also be taken here.
‘GraffitiWall’ – Base tracks and
ancillary photo shoot will be taken
here.We believed the variation in
colour adds to the video and makes
it enticing.
‘Club scene’ –Video will be
filmed within the club, with
dance, performance and
filler shots.

meet conventions

• We experimented with various editing
style and want to incorporate these into
our video
New Car
• One of the major aspects in hip-hop video is expensive items e.g. cars as this
shows the artists wealth, status and popularity.
• Our video was criticised for having an average car which was quite old, this didn’t
really meet what we wanted to achieve
• We have source a sports car (BMW 1 Series Sports) for the final draft which will
hopefully achieve this
Old Car – Ford KA
New Car – BMW 1
Series Sport
LIGHTING
• Due to the ‘Underground Urban’ theme that we wanted to achieve, lighting was a
huge problem.
• As natural lighting was unavailable we resorted to using car headlights, street
lighting and phone lights. However, this still didn’t work.
• We have now sourced a soft box which attaches to our camera which provides a
huge amount of light – and ultimately the difference we need.
This was very cheap
to source and used
batteries which came
with it.
Ancillaries
• One piece of feedback we received was to ‘re-create main
image photo with better lighting’ and ‘keep colour
consistency’
• As we have now sourced a soft box we were able to plan a
day out to have another ancillary photoshoot
Using the various
colours of the Graffiti
Wall to keep colour
consistency
Using the soft box light to create
good lighting and enhance the
quality of the image taken
Re-creating this photo,
we decided to change
the costume to the
‘Alternative’ white one
as it looked better in
comparison
