Evaluation Question 6

          .
What have you learnt about the technologies from the process
                of constructing the product ?

• Strengths and Weaknesses
I believe that the strengths of the video camera we used, were
that it was very simple to use, however at first we had a little
bit of trouble with adjusting our camera tri-pod but after a
couple of days we got used to how the camera equipment
worked for example uploading our movie onto imovie to edit
and adjusting the settings on the camera to zoom in or out.
One of the weaknesses we faced was picking up the camera as
we were about to start filming, however finding the battery
was low, and prevented us from filming therefore we had to
start charging the cameras a good 1-2 hours before we start
filming to avoid any camera problems in that department.
Editing
• In order to edit our thriller opening sequence we used a
software called imovie. I particularly enjoyed this part of the
project because I have used imovie for many mini projects of
my own in the past therefore I felt I could take a leading role
  in this area.
• We found that using effects such as “Black and White” to
create low key lighting for the flashbacks were effective
because it means the audience can tell the difference
between a flashback and a normal clip.
• We also used simple transitions between flashbacks and the
main clips such as “Fade to white” and “fade to black”.
Garage Band
• I also enjoyed with creating our introduction music and our
sound effects. We were effective this because I did a two year
music GCSE garage band course for GCSE which came in very
  handy with creating this music.
• I believe garage band is a very effective way of creating sound
effects because there is a wide variety of sound effects to
choose from therefore, it is easy to pick the best ones that
  suit the Thriller genre.
