Jasper Cheyney was briefed to create a short film between 15-20 seconds containing a minimum of 30 edits that is as dynamic and action-packed as possible. Their research inspired them to emulate the fast-paced edits of City of God and other Brazilian films. They storyboarded a film showing the process of making a cup of tea to focus on dynamic camera angles and entertain through something mundane. Their next steps are to explore more dynamic shots and add scenes to the story.

2. What was the brief?
 The Brief was to create a short film piece that is between 15-20 seconds long.
 Must contain a minimum of 30 edits.
 Must be as dynamic and as action packed as possible.
 The story can be based on anything.
 Must be copyright free.
 You cannot use a continuous soundtrack.

3. Research & Inspiration
City of God (Movie)
 City of God is a Brazilian Crime Drama film that is set in 2002.
 It contains short fast edits.
 These edits often have black scenes in-between each edit for increased pace.
 The edits match the theme of the film, fast paced gang fighting with quick action scenes.
 They show two different scenes and the progression until they both meet. (See video)

 They added a black and white filter on their film for added effect.

6. Chosen Idea & Why
 My chosen theme for my short film is ‘How to make a cup of tea’
 I chose this theme as it is non extreme which allows me to focus on dynamic camera angles...
 Challenge myself and make something ‘boring’ entertaining.
 Has a lot of stages in the making suitable for numerous edits.
 I love tea.

13. What now?
 Investigate further into a range of dynamic camera shots. (PoVs, Macro, Dual Angle, Ariel,
High angle).
 Give the main story more structure by adding additional scenes.
 Locating high quality sound effects that are suitable for use.
