Now a day smart phone users are increased and the energy consumption problem in mobile industry has become crucial. For the growth of mobile industry energy efficiency of the system must be improved. In order to improve the methods of network energy usage usually reduction of the Base Stations are to be employed.
The mobile industry faces a critical energy consumption challenge. By 2014 smart phones will exceed 1.82 billion units and surpass PCs as the most common web access devices. That’s why it is one of the important things. As all know that a smart is mainly for easy access to the network at anytime and anywhere. So it employs powering up all the Radio Base Stations (RBS’s) at maximum power. Since there are more number of service providers competition exist at the field of telecommunication. So it yields in more energy consumption to get monopoly among them. In the field of engineering, a system is usually designed to transform energy to useful work. Energy Efficiency can therefore be defined as the ratio of useful work to the total supplied energy. The useful work in a communication system refers to the effort to deliver modulated signals for information exchange. The definition of Energy Efficiency varies according to measured objects. There are two basic methods to measure Energy Efficiency. One way is to define Energy Efficiency as the ratio of efficient output power/energy to total input power/energy. This definition is widely used by systems and components such as power supply, Power Amplifiers, and antennas. The other way defines Energy Efficiency as the performance per unit of energy consumption.
The seminar gives a brief description about the methods to manage the network energy even when the on time access to network by mobile phones. Also gives a summary about existing and latest methodologies about the management in RBS’s.

The tutorial begins with a brief introduction of spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) in communications. Various definitions of EE will also be covered briefly. One typically used EE, i.e., bits-per-Joule, is theoretically derived and the ideal SE-EE tradeoff is introduced. It is recognized that a power amplifier (PA) is one of the most critical components in wireless communication systems and consumes a significant fraction of the total energy. The fundamental properties of PA, such as linearity and efficiency, are introduced. With the practical characteristics of PA, the detrimental effects of the signal non-linearity and power inefficiency of the PA on the SE, EE, and their tradeoff, are quantified.
Next, various existing EE-improving techniques are categorized from three perspectives: PA design, signal design and network design. This broad understanding based on the three categories will help motivate holistic design approaches to mitigate the non-ideal effects in real-life PA devices, and accelerate cross-domain research to further enhance the available techniques for high EE or good SE-EE tradeoff.
Last, the remaining challenges and future work for EE issue will be discussed.

Nowadays, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relays’assisted Internet of Things (IoT) systems provide facility in order to overcome the large scale fading between source and sink. The full-duplex scheme enables wireless network to provide higher spectrum efficient technology. This paper analyses performance of two users which are served by new emerging non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique. Exact outage probability of such two users are derived and checked via Monte-Carlo simulation. These analytical results provide guideline to design UAV in real application. This paper provides a comprehensive study to examine impact of interference, fixed power allocation factors to system performance.

Making Trust Relationship For Peer To Peer System With Secure ProtocolIJMER
In the peer-to-peer systems exposes them to malicious activity. Building trust relationships
among peers can mitigate attacks of malicious peers. This paper presents distributed algorithms that
enable a peer to reason about trust worthiness of other peers based on past interactions and
recommendations. Peers create their own trust network in their proximity by using local information
available and do not try to learn global trust information. Two contexts of trust, service, and
recommendation contexts are defined to measure trustworthiness in providing services and giving
recommendations. So, neighbouring node will give the recommendation to peer. Based on the
recommendation only Peer decides whether the node is good (or) malicious. Find the node is
malicious node means peer will not interact with malicious node. Isolate the malicious node from the
network. Find the node is good means peer interact with good peer. Peer stores a separate history of
interactions for each Acquaintance. This paper also discuss the malicious threats, privacy concerns,
and security risks of three commonpeer-to-peer network systems that are gaining popularity today.
The malicious threats discussed willinclude how malicious threats can harness existing peer-to-peer
networks, and how peer-to-peernetworking provides an additional (potentially unprotected) vector of

User Interactive Color Transformation between ImagesIJMER
Abstract: In this paper we present a process called color
transfer which can borrow one image’s color
characteristics from another. Most current colorization
algorithms either require a significant user effort or have
large computational time. Here focus on orthogonal color
space i.e. lαβ color space without correlation between the
axes is given. Here we have implemented two global color
transfer algorithms in lαβ color space using simple color
statistical information such as mean, standard deviation
and covariance between the pixels of image. Our approach
is the extension of Reinhard's. Our local color transfer
algorithm uses simple color statistical analysis to recolor
the target image according to selected color range in
source image. Target image’s color influence mask is
prepared. It is a mask that specifies what parts of target
image will be affected according to selected color range.
After that target image is recolored in lαβ color space
according to prepared color influence map. In the lαβ
color space luminance and chrominance information is
separate so it allows making image recoloring optional.
The basic color transformation uses stored color statistics
of source and target image. All the algorithms are
implemented in JAVA object oriented language. The main
advantage of proposed method over the existing one is it
allows the user to recolor a part of the image in a simple &
intuitive way, preserving other color intact & achieving
natural look.

Prediction of groundwater quality in Selected Locations in Imo StateIJMER
The prediction of groundwater quality in selected locations was carried out in Owerri-West
L.G.A. of Imo State. The Physical, chemical and biological parameters of groundwater samples from
Nekede (Ward A), Ihiagwa (Ward B), Eziobodo (Ward C), Obinze (Ward D) and Avu (Ward E) were
analysed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). A total of three replicates of fifteen
different borehole water samples were collected based on distances from closest potential sources of
contamination. All parameters were detected up to 61m from pollution source and most of them
increased in concentration during the periods, pointing to infiltrations from storm water. The results
for Iron, pH and TVC decreased as distance increases while for nitrate and BOD increased as distance
increases. Results also showed that most of the boreholes were polluted and not suitable for human
consumption without adequate treatment, Regular monitoring of groundwater quality, abolishment of
unhealthy waste disposal practices and introduction of modern techniques are recommended.

Influencing Factors on Power Losses in Electric Distribution NetworkIJAEMSJORNAL
Line losses reduction greatly affects the performance of the electric distribution network. This paper aims to identify the influencing factors causing power losses in that network. Newton-Raphson method is used for the loss assessment and the Sensitivity analysis by approach One-Factor-At-A-Time (OAT) for the influencing factors identification. Simulation with the meshed IEEE-30 bus test system is carried out under MATLAB environment. Among the 14 parameters investigated of each line, the result shows that the consumed reactive powers by loads, the bus voltages and the linear parameters are the most influencing on the power losses in several lines. Thus, in order to optimize these losses, the solution consists of the reactive power compensation by using capacitor banks; then the placement of appropriate components in the network according to the corresponding loads; and finally, the injection of other energy sources into the bus which recorded high level losses by using the hybrid system for instance.

Abstract
Electromagnetic compatibility of power electronic systems becomes an engineering discipline and it should be considered at the
beginning stage of a design. Thus, a power electronics design becomes more complex and challenging and it requires a good
communication between EMI and Power electronics experts. Three major issues in designing a power electronic system are Losses,
EMI and Harmonics. These issues affect system cost, size, efficiency and quality and it is a tradeoff between these factors when we
design a power converter, filter. In this paper the EMC model is discussed which should be considered while designing the power
electronics systems. The design considerations in this paper help us to remove losses, harmonics & EMI elimination and power
quality improvement of Power systems.

Nowadays, the electricity demand is increasing daily and hence it is important not only to extract electrical energy from all possible new power resources but also to reduce power losses to an acceptable minimum level in the existing distribution networks where a huge amount of power dissipation occurred. A lot of power is remarkably dissipated in Yangon distribution system. Network reconfiguration method is employed for loss reduction and exhaustive search technique is also applied to achieve the minimal loss switching scheme. Network reconfiguration is performed by opening sectionalizing switches and closing tie switches of the network for loss reduction. The distribution network for existing and reconfiguration conditions are modelled and simulated by Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) 7.5 version software. The proposed method is tested on 83-Bus and 74-Bus radial distribution system in Yangon city since it is long-length, overloaded lines and high level of power dissipation is occurred in this system. According to simulation results of load flow analysis, voltage profile enhancement, power loss reduction and cost saving for proposed system are revealed in this paper.

An Adaptive Virtual Impedance Based Droop Control Scheme for Parallel Inverte...IAES-IJPEDS
This paper presents an adaptive virtual impedance based droop control
scheme for parallel inverter operation in low voltage microgrid. Because it is
essential to achieve power sharing between inverters in microgrid, various
droop control schemes have been proposed. In practice, the line impedance
between inverters and the point of common coupling (PCC) in microgrid are
not always equal. This imbalance in line impedance often results in a reactive
power mismatch among inverters. This problem has been solved by
introducing a virtual impedance loop in the conventional droop control
scheme. However, the reactive power sharing performance of this method is
still deteriorated when the line impedances change during operation. To
overcome such a problem, a new control scheme that is based on a virtual
impedance loop and an impedance estimation scheme is proposed.
To monitor the changes in line impedances, the impedance estimator is
implemented by using the output voltages and currents of inverters as well as
the voltages at the PCC. To compensate for the reactive power mismatch due
to the line impedance changes, the estimated line impedance is fed to the
virtual impedance loop in which it adjusts the virtual impedance value.
Comparative simulation results with the conventional ones verify the
effectiveness of the proposed adaptive virtual impedance based droop control
scheme.
The electrical distribution network is undergoing tremendous modifications with the introduction of distributed generation technologies which have led to an increase in fault current levels in the distribution network. Fault current limiters have been developed as a promising technology to limit fault current levels in power systems. Though, quite a number of fault current limiters have been developed; the most common are the superconducting fault current limiters, solid-state fault current limiters, and saturated core fault current limiters. These fault current limiters present potential fault current limiting solutions in power systems. Nevertheless, they encounter various challenges hindering their deployment and commercialization. This research aimed at designing a bridge-type nonsuperconducting fault current limiter with a novel topology for distribution network applications. The proposed bridge-type nonsuperconducting fault current limiter was designed and simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC. Simulation results showed the effectiveness of the proposed design in fault current limiting, voltage sag compensation during fault conditions, and its ability not to affect the load voltage and current during normal conditions as well as in suppressing the source powers during fault conditions. Simulation results also showed very minimal power loss by the fault current limiter during normal conditions.

Harmonic enhancement in microgrid with applications on sensitive loadsIJECEIAES
Power quality issues are an important and growing problem in microgrid. There are two reasons; the more active consumer is participating in the power sector, the use of renewable energy which having a great impact on voltage variation. This paper discusses power quality disturbance and especially harmonic distortion issues in microgrid, and suggests a solution to maintain the operation of the distribution system within power quality standard. To protect sensitive loads from harmonics produced by the grid and by renewable energy sources, passive harmonic filter has been proposed in this paper. The electrical system of a nuclear research reactor as sensitive loads is designed by using Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) software. The results show these technical issues are presented with their influence on electrical voltage and harmonic specter.
Machine learning for prediction models to mitigate the voltage deviation in ...IJECEIAES
The voltage deviation is one of the most crucial power quality issues that occur in electrical power systems. Renewable energy plays a vital role in electrical distribution networks due to the high economic returns. However, the presence of photovoltaic systems changes the nature of the energy flow in the grid and causes many problems such as voltage deviation. In this work, several predictive models are examined for voltage regulation in the Jordanian Sabha distribution network equipped with photovoltaic farms. The augmented grey wolf optimizer is used to train the different predictive models. To evaluate the performance of models, a value of one for regression factor and a low value for root mean square error, mean square error, and mean absolute error are used as standards. In addition, a comparison between nineteen predictive models has been made. The results have proved the capability of linear regression and the gaussian process to restore the bus voltages in the distribution network accurately and quickly and to solve the shortening in the voltage dynamic response caused by the iterative nature of the heuristic algorithm.

Nowadays, the exhaustion of electricity power in rural areas is becoming an important issue for many African Nations. Moreover, challenges include the high cost of extending the power grid to these locations, the economic health of the utilities and lack of revenue in impoverished villages. Numerous new initiatives are being implemented in the countries some of them co-financed by international organizations. In this paper, the hybrid microgrid is carried out as a feasible solution for a small rural village. A model of hybrid microgrid consisting of combination of photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery energy storage (BES) and a control system for managing the components of entire system to feed the village as local load is proposed. The control system must avoid the interruptions of power delivered to the consumers (village) and, therefore, good quality and reliability of the system is required. The PI controllers are used to regulate the voltage and current using three-phase dq transformation, while the parameters are determined using Ziegler-Nichols tuning method. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation results given by Matlab / Sim Power Systems R environment.

Neural computing is now one of the most promising technologies in all fields of engineering,
resulting in the development of a number of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Double circuit transmission lines
are being employed in the distribution of power to consumers and have become more widespread than single
transmission line, as they increase the electric power transmission capacity and the reliability of an electrical
system. Losses along transmission lines occur due to faults. Possible faults on the transmission line were
predicted using Artificial Neutral Network. In this work, the simulation of fault on a 132kV double circuit
transmission lines using MATLAB was undertaken. Parameters considered during the simulation were the input
of the network which is the fault current value at each fault location while the output of the network is the fault
location. The efficiency of the neural network was tested and verified. This approach provided satisfactory
results with accuracy of 95% or higher.

The incorporation of natural fibres such as munja fiber composites has gained
increasing applications both in many areas of Engineering and Technology. The aim of this study is to
evaluate mechanical properties such as flexural and tensile properties of reinforced epoxy composites.
This is mainly due to their applicable benefits as they are light weight and offer low cost compared to
synthetic fibre composites. Munja fibres recently have been a substitute material in many weight-critical
applications in areas such as aerospace, automotive and other high demanding industrial sectors. In
this study, natural munja fibre composites and munja/fibreglass hybrid composites were fabricated by a
combination of hand lay-up and cold-press methods. A new variety in munja fibre is the present work
the main aim of the work is to extract the neat fibre and is characterized for its flexural characteristics.
The composites are fabricated by reinforcing untreated and treated fibre and are tested for their
mechanical, properties strictly as per ASTM procedures.

The present day technology demands eco-friendly developments. In this era the
composite material are playing a vital roal in different field of Engineering .The composite materials
are using as a principle materials. Nowaday the composite materials are utilizing as a important
component of engineering field .Where as the importance of the applications of composites is well
known, but thrust on the use of natural fibres in it for reinforcement has been given priority for some
times. But changing from synthetic fibres to natural fibres provides only half green-composites. A
partial green composite will be achieved if the matrix component is also eco-friendly. Keeping this in
view, a detailed literature surveyed has been carried out through various issues of the Journals
related to this field. The material systems used are sunnhemp fibres. Some epoxy and hardener has
been also added for stability and drying of the bio-composites. Various graphs and bar-charts are
super-imposed on each other for comparison among themselves and Graphs is plotted on MAT LAB
and ORIGIN 6.0 software. To determining tensile strengths, Various properties for different biocomposites
have been compared among themselves. Comparison of the behaviour of bio-composites of
this work has been also compare with other works. The bio-composites developed in this work are
likely to get applications in fall ceilings, partitions, bio-degradable packagings, automotive interiors,
sports things (e.g. rackets, nets, etc.), toys etc.
Geochemistry and Genesis of Kammatturu Iron Ores of Devagiri Formation, Sandu...IJMER
The Greenstone belts of Karnataka are enriched in BIFs in Dharwar craton, where Iron
formations are confined to the basin shelf, clearly separated from the deeper-water iron formation that
accumulated at the basin margin and flanking the marine basin. Geochemical data procured in terms of
major, trace and REE are plotted in various diagrams to interpret the genesis of BIFs. Al2O3, Fe2O3 (T),
TiO2, CaO, and SiO2 abundances and ratios show a wide variation. Ni, Co, Zr, Sc, V, Rb, Sr, U, Th,
ΣREE, La, Ce and Eu anomalies and their binary relationships indicate that wherever the terrigenous
component has increased, the concentration of elements of felsic such as Zr and Hf has gone up. Elevated
concentrations of Ni, Co and Sc are contributed by chlorite and other components characteristic of basic
volcanic debris. The data suggest that these formations were generated by chemical and clastic
sedimentary processes on a shallow shelf. During transgression, chemical precipitation took place at the
sediment-water interface, whereas at the time of regression. Iron ore formed with sedimentary structures
and textures in Kammatturu area, in a setting where the water column was oxygenated.

under various working conditions. The main characteristic to be studied on this paper is impact toughness
of the material with different configurations and the experiment were carried out on charpy impact testing
equipment. This study reveals the ability of the material to absorb energy up to failure for various
specimen configurations under different heat treated conditions and the corresponding results were
compared with the analysis outcome
Non linear analysis of Robot Gun Support Structure using Equivalent Dynamic A...IJMER
Robot guns are being increasingly employed in automotive manufacturing to replace
risky jobs and also to increase productivity. Using a single robot for a single operation proves to be
expensive. Hence for cost optimization, multiple guns are mounted on a single robot and multiple
operations are performed. Robot Gun structure is an efficient way in which multiple welds can be done
simultaneously. However mounting several weld guns on a single structure induces a variety of
dynamic loads, especially during movement of the robot arm as it maneuvers to reach the weld
locations. The primary idea employed in this paper, is to model those dynamic loads as equivalent G
force loads in FEA. This approach will be on the conservative side, and will be saving time and
subsequently cost efficient. The approach of the paper is towards creating a standard operating
procedure when it comes to analysis of such structures, with emphasis on deploying various technical
aspects of FEA such as Non Linear Geometry, Multipoint Constraint Contact Algorithm, Multizone
meshing .

This paper aims to do modelling, simulation and performing the static analysis of a go
kart chassis consisting of Circular beams. Modelling, simulations and analysis are performed using 3-D
modelling software i.e. Solid Works and ANSYS according to the rulebook provided by Indian Society of
New Era Engineers (ISNEE) for National Go Kart Championship (NGKC-14).The maximum deflection is
determined by performing static analysis. Computed results are then compared to analytical calculation,
where it is found that the location of maximum deflection agrees well with theoretical approximation but
varies on magnitude aspect.

This paper present an approach based on the combination of, two techniques using
decision tree and Association rule mining for Probe attack detection. This approach proves to be
better than the traditional approach of generating rules for fuzzy expert system by clustering methods.
Association rule mining for selecting the best attributes together and decision tree for identifying the
best parameters together to create the rules for fuzzy expert system. After that rules for fuzzy expert
system are generated using association rule mining and decision trees. Decision trees is generated for
dataset and to find the basic parameters for creating the membership functions of fuzzy inference
system. Membership functions are generated for the probe attack. Based on these rules we have
created the fuzzy inference system that is used as an input to neuro-fuzzy system. Fuzzy inference
system is loaded to neuro-fuzzy toolbox as an input and the final ANFIS structure is generated for
outcome of neuro-fuzzy approach. The experiments and evaluations of the proposed method were
done with NSL-KDD intrusion detection dataset. As the experimental results, the proposed approach
based on the combination of, two techniques using decision tree and Association rule mining
efficiently detected probe attacks. Experimental results shows better results for detecting intrusions as
compared to others existing methods

"Natural language processing" here refers to the use and ability of systems to process
sentences in a natural language such as English, rather than in a specialized artificial computer
language such as C++. The systems of real interest here are digital computers of the type we think of as
personal computers and mainframes. Of course humans can process natural languages, but for us the
question is whether digital computers can or ever will process natural languages. We have tried to
explore in depth and break down the types of ambiguities persistent throughout the natural languages
and provide an answer to the question “How it affects the machine translation process and thereby
machine learning as whole?” .

analysis and software development. Currently there are enormous number of software development

Material Parameter and Effect of Thermal Load on Functionally Graded CylindersIJMER
The present study investigates the creep in a thick-walled composite cylinders made
up of aluminum/aluminum alloy matrix and reinforced with silicon carbide particles. The distribution
of SiCp is assumed to be either uniform or decreasing linearly from the inner to the outer radius of
the cylinder. The creep behavior of the cylinder has been described by threshold stress based creep
law with a stress exponent of 5. The composite cylinders are subjected to internal pressure which is
applied gradually and steady state condition of stress is assumed. The creep parameters required to
be used in creep law, are extracted by conducting regression analysis on the available experimental
results. The mathematical models have been developed to describe steady state creep in the composite
cylinder by using von-Mises criterion. Regression analysis is used to obtain the creep parameters
required in the study. The basic equilibrium equation of the cylinder and other constitutive equations
have been solved to obtain creep stresses in the cylinder. The effect of varying particle size, particle
content and temperature on the stresses in the composite cylinder has been analyzed. The study
revealed that the stress distributions in the cylinder do not vary significantly for various combinations
of particle size, particle content and operating temperature except for slight variation observed for
varying particle content. Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) emerged and led to the development
of superior heat resistant materials.

measures application in areas like lighting, motors, compressors, transformer, ventilation system etc.

An Implementation of I2C Slave Interface using Verilog HDLIJMER
The focus of this paper is on implementation of Inter Integrated Circuit (I2C) protocol
following slave module for no data loss. In this paper, the principle and the operation of I2C bus protocol
will be introduced. It follows the I2C specification to provide device addressing, read/write operation and
an acknowledgement. The programmable nature of device provide users with the flexibility of configuring
the I2C slave device to any legal slave address to avoid the slave address collision on an I2C bus with
multiple slave devices. This paper demonstrates how I2C Master controller transmits and receives data to
and from the Slave with proper synchronization.
The module is designed in Verilog and simulated in ModelSim. The design is also synthesized in Xilinx
XST 14.1. This module acts as a slave for the microprocessor which can be customized for no data loss.

ABSTRACT: One of the problems which contribute today to the energy dependence of Benin to more (90%) in 2012 of its
own production constitutes the losses, of which on-line losses. Certain more remarkable consequences of this situation
constitute the energy low level of cover, the large financial losses for the Distribution firm of Benin (SBEE). The object
continued by the authors is to determine with precision, the points of injection of the photovoltaic power stations to connect
to the distribution network of the SBEE in order to minimize on-line losses. With this intention, the authors have with the
premium on board modeled with software NEPLAN, the network “COTONOU-EST'' of the SBEE. They have according to
the results obtained with NEPLAN, dimensioned with the software PVsyst the photovoltaic power stations. The behavior of
the power stations was studied using Matlab/Simulink. Lastly, the authors determined by simulation with software NEPLAN
the points of injection minimizing on-line losses.

I. Introduction
The liberalization of the energy sector, but especially the energy problem of deficit very accentuated in certain
countries in the process of development like Benin, makes that the managers of the electrical networks connect energy
sources dispersed on their distribution network. The form of the sources of production decentralized more in vogue
nowadays is that of renewable energies. Indeed, one attends the connection of the photovoltaic and wind power stations more
and more on the distribution networks electric, especially in the developed countries. This operation contributes in what
relates to them, not only to solve the environmental problems by limiting the gas emissions to greenhouse effect in the
respect of conventions of the protocol of Kyoto, but still to reduce the technical losses. Research is made indeed more and
more to help the managers of network to reduce on-line losses. There were many studies on the reconfiguration of the
distribution networks for the reduction of the losses. An exchange algorithm of switch was proposed in [1]. In [2], an
approximate technique of flow of power was developed to analyze the reduction of the losses by the reconfiguration of the
network. In [3], Fan and Zhang formulated the problem of reconfiguration like linear problem of programming and applied a
method of optimization to only one loop to solve the reconfiguration of network. Other techniques such as the genetic
algorithm, and the algorithm of research by colony of ants (ACS) were used for purposes of the reconfiguration of the
network to reduce the losses. For the optimal site of condenser “a well-known gold rule,” or “rule 2/3” for the reduction of
the losses is presented in [4]. This method would bring back good solutions in the system where the loads are uniformly
distributed. In distribution systems, the Autonomous Source (AS) can provide part of power active and/or reactive so that the
current in the wire is reduced and the profile of tension can be improved with the reduction of the losses. However, the
studies indicate that the bad choice of the place and the size would lead to losses higher than the losses without sources of
decentralized production [4] and [5]. A technique for the site of AS using the rule “2/3” was presented in [4]. Although the
rule of 2/3 is simple and easy to apply, this technique cannot be effective in distribution with the loads not uniformly
distributed. It is strong of that it was published useful for the authors of this article to study the influence of the connection of
AS in the case of a real distribution network where the loads are not distributed uniformly. Does the geographical location of
the point of coupling to a real distribution network of these power stations, have an influence on the losses of the network?
To give an exact answer to this question, the authors of this article analyzed the evolution of the losses by connecting a
source of autonomous production of 3 MW on the portion of network “Cotonou Est” of SBEE. Software NEPLAN was used
as basic tool to evaluate before and after the operations of injection of energy.
II. Material and methodology
2.1. Mathematical formulation of the objective to be optimized
The problem of optimization is related to one or more objectives which one tries to minimize (or to maximize). The
main objective here is the minimization of the Joules losses. The authors expressed this objective by mathematical
expressions which are integrated in the algorithms of optimization.
2.2. The losses Joules
The reduction of the Joules losses becomes a priority for the operators of distribution networks, especially in a
deregulated and competing context. A minimization of the losses allows a reduction of the costs of energy distribution and
involves an increase in the margins of transit on the electric lines as well as an improvement of the profile of voltage. To
express this objective in an algorithm of optimization, the authors used the following expression:

To minimize the expression (1) led to a reduction of one of the costs of exploitation.
2.3. Formulation of the constraints of safety
The constraints of safety are the constraints related to the voltage on the level of each node of the network and with
the currents on each branch of the network.
2.3.1. Amplitude of the voltage
Concerning the amplitude of the voltage, each company of electricity is held to respect an interval in which the
voltage can vary during the exploitation by taking account of the regulations of the international standards. It is necessary
thus, when one seeks a network configuration, that the voltage in each node is included/understood between Vnominal =
± 5 % for HV distribution network and Unominal = +6 and − 10 % for LV network (according to the European standards
and French in particular). This constraint is expressed in the following way:

In general, in the distribution networks, the loads are inductive. We thus observe voltage drops rather than of rises.
However, the connection of the independent producers leads to local rises in voltage which could exceed the acceptable
limits.
2.3.2. Acceptable currents
Another constraint of safety is related to the currents on the branches which should not exceed the acceptable
maximum currents in permanent mode, guaranteed by the manufacturers. We express this constraint in the form:

2.4. Representation of the network “Cotonou Est”
The network “Cotonou Est” of SBEE is the electrical network of the city “Cotonou”, which feed the feeders of the
source station of Akpakpa. It now comprises 230 transformers HV/LV) and 620 nodes.

2.5. Modeling of the source station of Akpakpa with software NEPLAN

The source station of Akpakpa have three (03) main nodes (Rame1, Rame2, Rame3), supplied with two named
transformers HV/LV TE1 of power 20 MVA and TE2 of power 31,5 MVA. In normal circumstances of exploitation, when
no coupling is closed, TE1 feeds Rame1, while TE2 feeds Rame2 and Rame3. There is a possibility of coupling Rame1 and
Rame3 by closing the switch of coupling 1, Rame2 and Rame3 by closing the switch of coupling 2.
The source station of Akpakpa has 9 feeders which are: Cotonou1, Cotonou3, Cotonou4, Cotonou5, Cotonou6, St
Michel, D1, D2 and Sonaci
Simulation and validation of the model with software NEPLAN
To validate the model, the authors have:
compared the total load simulated by feeder, with the series of measurement of the loads by transformers on each feeder;
compared the simulated value of the total power factor by feeder with the power factor measured during the series of
measurement
Table 1, presents the comparison between the simulated values and the actual values:

It is thus noted that the difference between the simulated model and the real model is very weak overall when one
carries out an analysis of the 'Total' line `' of table 1. The few strong variations noted on certain feeders are prone state of the
switches on the network. We can validate our model from these results. Then, the authors carried out the calculation of load
flow in the network studied before the connection of the autonomous source of production.
2.6. Power sum
The Power sum before the connection of the autonomous power station of production of 3 MW is presented in the table the 2
as well as losses per level of voltage.
The total active losses of the network rise to 1062 kW, for a load of 24.51 MW, while the total power in the network is
evaluated to 25.573 MW.

The Power sum by feeder is in table 3. The active losses of the feeder D1 on which we connected the autonomous
source raise to 346 kW.

III. Results
3.1. Evolution of the losses by simulation of the injection point on the feeder D1
By varying the node of connection of a Dispersed Energy Source (DES) of 3 MW, we obtain the evolution of losses
on the nodes of the longest line of the feeder D1. According to the power sum recapitulated in table 2, the power imported on
the feeder D1 is of 5.621 kW.
Figure 3 gives the profile of losses according to the distances compared to the source station of Akpakpa.

For better appreciating the influence of the choice of the point of injection on on-line losses, the authors, not only
chose various nodes of connection, but also varying the power of the DES. The results of simulation are related to figure 4:

IV. Discussion
The losses thus evolve from 841 to 883 kW on figure 3 for a total loss of 1.062 MW on the whole of the network,
that is to say a maximum profit in power of 42 kW in HTA. Thus, we can reduce the power forwarded up to 42 kW by
judiciously choosing the point of connection for an injection of 3 MW on the feeder D1, value which is lower than the power
imported on this departure (5.621 kW) in the actual position of the network. The losses were minimized when we made
connection with a node located at approximately 6.8 km of the source station of Akpakpa (figure 3).
An interpretation of this figure leads us to affirm with certainty that an electrical network admits a “center of load”
which is function of the load-distribution in the network. When an injection of power is made with the node center, the
losses are then minimized.
The analysis of the compared evolution of on-line losses (figure 4) according to the node of connection shows that
on-line losses evolve proportionally with the power of the additional source, when this one is higher than the power imported
on the feeder concerned. In this case, the center of the loads moves at the head of feeder. Thus, when the power of the
autonomous source is higher than the imported power of the feeder on which it will be connected, connection must be made
with the nodes at the head of feeder to minimize on-line losses. But when the connected power is lower than the imported
power, it is important to seek the center of the loads which is not any more at the head of feeder. Figure 4 also shows us that
the losses can become much more important than they are it in the actual position of the network, when the power injected is
higher than the power imported on the feeder in the initial state of the network. It comes out the importance from it to
decentralize the autonomous sources of production, by distributing the total power to inject in several small powers not to
increase the rate of losses on the feeders.
V. Conclusion
We analyzed in this article, the influence of the choice of the injection nodes of the autonomous sources on the
losses of the network “Cotonou Est” while using the simulation software NEPLAN with various values of powers from 3 to
9 MW exits of our photovoltaic power stations. The feeder D1 was retained on the network for our simulation, thus, it was
determined the suitable node of connection for which the losses are minimized on the network “Cotonou Est”, i.e. to 6.8 km
of the source station.
Apart from the minimization of on-line losses, the injection of the DES will make it possible to make up the energy
deficit of Benin which currently knows a dependence of more than 90% of its energy need.
For a number of seven inhabitants per hearth on average, requiring according to a publication of UNDP of 0.99 kW
energy per hearth, this recovery of loss of electrical energy of 42 kW can be used for supplying approximately 42 additional
hearths and thus contributing the policy of reduction of poverty to the Benin.
