Need for Safe Access • In India about 10 metro rail systems and 19 BRT systems are in different stages of planning, construction, operations etc. • However existing MRTS stations are not being perceived as places of connectivity • Very limited public participation with key stakeholders in planning and development of MRTS • Attempts of station area improvements in some cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru etc.) vary in their approaches • Need to provide improved connectivity, accessibility, safety etc. at transit stations in an integrated manner connectkaro.org #CK2015
