1. Documented Essay Sample
Crafting a documented essay can be a challenging endeavor that demands a combination of
research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The difficulty lies not only in
presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in sourcing and incorporating
credible evidence to support your claims.
To begin with, the process involves extensive research to gather relevant information and data to
substantiate your thesis. This requires a keen eye for reliable sources and the ability to distinguish
between credible and questionable information. The challenge intensifies as you delve into the
details of your topic, aiming to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded view.
Moreover, documenting your sources correctly is a crucial aspect of the essay. The meticulous
citation of references in the appropriate format adds an additional layer of complexity. The need
to adhere to a specific citation style, whether it be APA, MLA, Chicago, or another, can be a
daunting task, requiring attention to detail and precision.
The synthesis of information is another hurdle to overcome. Skillfully weaving together the
various sources, while maintaining a cohesive narrative and a clear line of argument, demands a
high level of organizational and writing proficiency. Striking the right balance between your own
voice and the voices of experts is crucial, and this requires finesse in integrating quotations and
paraphrasing.
Furthermore, the revision process is time-consuming and challenging. Ensuring that each
paragraph flows logically, every sentence contributes to the overall argument, and the essay
meets the required length without sacrificing quality can be a delicate balancing act.
In conclusion, writing a documented essay is a demanding task that requires a combination of
research, critical thinking, meticulous citation, and effective writing. Success in this endeavor
hinges on the ability to navigate through a sea of information, synthesize ideas, and present a
compelling argument while maintaining accuracy and coherence.

So it will take Daimler AG quite a long time to return the investment.
In order to go the SAP RFID technology way, the Daimler AG needs to totally change
their current system which is called manual kanban process. In the new system, the
technique of kanban system still exists, but they are using the RFID technology to
replace the kanban card. As the result of using the manual kanban system for many
years, the staffs and employees will feel difficult and need quite a long time to adapt
to the new system and all these will reduce the efficiency at the beginning.
Also the links between the warehouses and facilities also need to be adjusted and the
adjusting time can be depend on how the project being performed for replacing the
manual kanban process. The supply chain management will require some changes

In addition, Daimler AG is the first automotive manufacture that is trying to combine
the kanban with RFID technology with the help of SAP. Because of lacking of

4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Cry
Now and then we as a whole need a decent cry. We may not have any desire to, on
the grounds that it makes us look powerless, yet that doesn t mean it s a bit much.
Crying originates from the most profound and most defenseless parts of ourselves
and may make us look feeble, however, a short time later, we turn out the flip side
much more grounded. Crying is ended up being useful for both enthusiastic and
physical wellbeing.
So in the event that you haven t had a decent cry in quite a while, here are five
shocking advantages that may make you need to go watch a truly dismal motion
picture:
1. A good cry will help you be more creative
By one means or another, our most prominent trials and the most powerless parts of
ourselves wind up in workmanship and writing. That profound feeling makes them
genuine. Some of our most noteworthy works are made from the most individual
parts of ourselves. Crying permits the innovative procedure to prosper in light of the
fact that you are feeling such genuine, immaculate feeling. Having the capacity to
channel those emotions into craftsmanship or writing lets out the suppressed anxiety
and tension in our lives. When it s out, you re left without the weight of such feeling
and now have something unmistakable to appear for it. This bit of craftsmanship now
can possibly impact a ton of other individuals. ... Show more content on

It releases toxins from the body
Tears regularly accompany push. This happens in light of the fact that crying can
discharge the poisons created by stress (like the concoction leucine enkephalin)
which lessens torment. Once you ve completed the process of crying, you ll feel
detectably better. This is on the grounds that crying lets your body dispose of those
poisons harming you physically and influencing you inwardly. Now that they re gone,
you feel candidly lighter and somewhat superior to anything you did some time
recently.

6. Imf and Its Role in International Political Economy
IMF and its role in International Political Economy Political economy is not a new
word for us because of the close relationships between politics and the economy. The
development in politics is due to the development in society and the development in
society is mostly driven by the economy. The parallel existence and mutual
interaction of state and market in the modern world creates political economy ;
without both state and market there could be no political economy (Gilpin, 2003,
P9). Market allocates resources to a particular group, class or region where conditions
are most favorable. As a consequence, market economies result in the uneven
development both domestically and internationally. As our issue is about international

Under this program, Saudi Arabia and other oil exporting countries have provided
significant resources derived from their balance of payment surplus to poor
countries. When oil prices quadrupled in 1973 1974, the IMF used assets from the
surpluses of the oil exporting countries to provide assistance to countries that faced
a significant increase in the cost of energy imports (Goddard, 2003, P249, Par. 4).
The IMF also offered financing assistance, which was known as large stand by
arrangements to industrial countries like Italy and the U.K. The reason was these
countries, to some extent, could not adjust their policies to manage the price shock
successfully. The wide spread oil price rise would have been an unexpected
negative impact on world economy, but the situation could be much worse without
the on time policies made by the IMF. Even though the IMF played an important
role in dealing with the oil price shock, defects still existed. As Anne Krueger, the
Acting Managing Director of the IMF, said in a report: Failure to heed warnings by
the Fund will inevitably lead to crisis in some causes. Crisis in individual countries
have been frequent, but they have rarely brought widespread description to the global
financial system. I come back to my point: that the multilateral framework put in
place in the post war decades has served the international economy well. (Krueger,

7. The Mind Brain Identity Theory
Marguerite Mitchell
Intro to Philosophy
October 29, 2015
In this paper, I will argue that the Mind Brain Identity Theory provides sufficient
grounds to accept Epicurus argument for death being annihilation. I will argue my
thesis by referring to Peter Carruthers The Mind Is the Brain to establish that one s
mental states are in fact brain states and will also refer to Epicurus Death is Nothing to
Us. Next, I will explain that if one accepts the Identity Theory then one should also
accept, as Epicurus argues, that death should not be feared, for it is annihilation. I
will conclude by refuting objections to the Identity Theory and the Epicurean
argument on death.
In order to accept the validity of the Identity Theory, one must have a thorough
understanding of it. It is a form of materialism which asserts that all mental states
and events are in fact physical states and events (Carruthers 301). For example, if I
were to put my hand on a hot stove, I would have a conscious awareness of the pain
of my burning flesh and it would provoke physical actions such as immediately
drawing back my hand and screaming. This instance illustrates Carruthers first
premise in the Identity Theory argument that conscious states and events, or my
awareness of the pain of burning my hand, is a causal condition for the occurrence
of physical states and events, which would be exemplified by me drawing back my
hand and screaming (Carruthers 302).
The second premise of the argument indicates
8. Legalization Of Cannabis Analysis
In legalizing cannabis, the American people will be given the best option for
treatment to improve their physical and mental health. The use of cannabis as an
herbal medicine, goes back to 2700 BC, when the Chinese Emperor, Shen Nung,
first discovered it along with ginseng and ephedra which treated diseases across
civilizations ( History of Marijuana as Medicine ). Despite having mainstream
medicines to treat diseases and chronic pain, Americans across the U.S. still suffer
and are often crippled by their affliction. It makes sense to legalize cannabisbecause it
is the most natural, least harmful, and least addictive drug for therapeutic treatment.
Grinspoon and Bakalar have claimed that the simplest way to enable patients to use

Most people are physically conditioned with using opioids that it is becoming an
ineffective treatment, thus causing misuse, taking higher doses than the
prescribed quantity (Tina Rosenberg). Consequently, opioid abuse is killing
thousands from an overdose. In 2015, opioids had killed 33,000 people (Douglas
Berman), whereas no overdose of cannabis has been reported (Igor Grant). Further,
opioids ability to cause physical dependence and withdrawals surpass those of
cannabis (Grant). In the latest national survey by Pew Research Center assembled
those who supported legalizing marijuana and those who were opposed. In that
survey, those that opposed, thirty percent concluded that cannabis was dangerous,
addictive, and lead too many people to more drugs; when in fact, scientific
evidence concludes that states with legalized medical marijuana witness fewer
opiate deaths and use (Berman). This is because cannabis has the capabilities to
lessen the necessity for high doses of opioids, thus causing opioids dependence
and addiction to be limited (Carey Clark). The reason cannabis is such an effective
treatment is due to its ability to connect with the body s sensory system (Mark
Torres). This connection allows cannabis to create obstructs of inflammation and
prevent disease (Torres). Therefore, only a few drugs can compete with cannabis
effectiveness which comes with hardly any side effects (Torres). During a research
for the documentary Weed , the Figi family treated their five year old daughter
with medical marijuana for Dravet s Syndrome, which caused seizures and severe
developmental delays (Welsh and Loria). The use of cannabis had decreased her
seizures from 300 a week to just one every seven days. Forty other children in the
state are using the same strain of marijuana to treat their seizures and it seems to be
working
9. The US Involvement In The Kyoto Protocol
Global warming has become one of the most complicated issued facing the whole
world. It may cause significant changes in natural, ecological or social systems.
Under this circumstance, developed nations has decided to work together to combat
this serious problem. The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Its objective is to make
nations that ratified the agreement reduce their emissions of carbon dioxideand five
other greenhouse gases, or engage in emissions trading if they maintain or increase
emissions of these gases toward the target set for each nation. Many countries are
trying their best to support the Kyoto Protocol. On the other hand, some other nations,

Additionally, it is said that the new standard was considering would have caused
devastating harm, wiping out millions of American jobs and costing our economy
more than $1 trillion over a decade, without any significant environmental or health
benefits. As we can see these facts, to work on reducing the greenhouse gas
emission, the US has to spend a lot of money. In addition to this fact, it is obvious
that economic growth and increased energy demand are closely linked to
increased emissions of CO2. The US cannot go on achieving the recovery of its
economy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emission at the same time.
Therefore, it will take a long time to make the US get involved in the Kyoto
Protocol. It is now busy to rebuild its economy, and doesn t have much scope to care
about this global issue. Out of this economical problem the US facing, there are
some other reasons why the US cannot be active on supporting the Kyoto protocol. I
d like to think of them in the next paragraph.
It is often discussed in the relation to the Kyoto Protocol its exemptions of many
nations including major emission nations like India and China. This is one of the
most difficult point regarding the Kyoto Protocol; at the same time, and one of the
reasons why the US cannot be cooperative about the Kyoto Protocol. China, India,
and other developing countries were exempt from the requirements of the Kyoto
Protocol, even though
10. Essay on Ethnography on Cambodian Americans
I chose Cambodian Americans for my target culture because it was a place I knew
very little about. My ignorance of that side of the world is laughable to say the least.
Cambodian American was a great choice because both the people and the culture are
very captivating to me. While some Cambodian Americans become very westernized,
accepting most of America s cultural norms, some hold strong to their Cambodian
traditions and way of life. Through Geert Hofstedes Taxonomy, I will explore the
dynamics of the Cambodian Americanculture. Through Identity, Hierarchy, Gender,

While most Cambodian Americans are loyal to their own family units it is not
uncommon for them to be hesitant about close interaction with strangers even
other Cambodians. The hesitation that some Cambodian Americans face when
meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the Cambodian culture is one of high
power distance. Hierarchy is determined usually by age or economic status. Social
hierarchy of age is evident in the greetings. Depending on who you are greeting
determines the type of greeting. If one were to greet someone who is Cambodian,
they should do the formal put hands together and bow. At chest level to someone
who is of the same age or status, at mouth level to a superior such as a boss and at
nose level to someone who is an elder, such as a grandparent. (Vorani) If greeting
someone who isn t Cambodian, we just normally do the American hi while waving.
It just really depends. For the Cambodian culture, we have to make sure we greet
using again the hands together while bowing especially to those who are older
than your parents. You also have to say a formal saying in Khmer but I forgot the
translation for it in one must to refer them as ming , bou , or orm . This is based on
both age and gender. (Eam) There is a clear delineation between superiors and
subordinates and between the young and the old. (Serpa)
While the Cambodian culture itself is more feminine there is a high level of respect
paid to the men of the household. The
11. What Is The Purpose Of The Book Of Susanna
The Book of Susanna tells a story of truth triumphing over lies in ancient Babylon.
The passage is short and contains only this story. This essay will critically assess
the book of Susanna to more fully grasp its purpose in the Book of Daniel. The
story begins by introducing Susanna, a beautiful young wife. She goes to bathe in
the gardens and sends her maids away. Then, after observing her beauty, two elders
approach. The two elders blackmail Susanna saying she must lie with them, or they
will claim they saw her with a young man that was not her husband. Susanna
decides it is better for me to fall into your hands, and not do it, than to sin in the
sight of the Lord. With the decision to not give into the blackmail, the two elders
bring Susanna to trial for promiscuity. She is sentenced to death before a young man,
Daniel, speaks up claiming her to be innocent. He quickly accuses the elders of lying
and eventually the two are put to death.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said in verse 45 therefore when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised
up the holy spirit of a young youth whose name was Daniel. This section may seem
to be pointing out that Daniel knew of Susanna s innocence, but it does not outrightly
state that he does. It merely says the holy spirit was raised inside of Daniel. Nowhere
in that sentence does the writer state that the Lord had told Daniel exactly of Susanna
s innocence. Though it is not outrightly stated, the rest of the section proves Daniel
knows of Susanna s innocence and the guilt of the two

Green Mountain s Dark Magic K Cup is a bit magic and a bit dark and a lot good

finally, the resolution. If coffee were a movie, then this extra bold K Cup picks up
right before the climax. The victim: Green Mountain Coffee s Dark Magic K Cup is

17. Pierre Flourens Psychology
Whitney Noonan
3/3/2016
Psychologists study the brain and the nervous system because these parts of the body
are essential to the way that people behave, think and feel. Psychology is the
scientific study of people s behavior and their mind so studying the brain and nervous
system is always going to be a crucial element for psychological study. Studying the
nervous system means studying its two major systems: the central nervous system,
which consists of the brain and spinal cord, and the cerebral cortex, which is involved
in higher cognitive, emotional, sensory and motor functions. The peripheral nervous
system is divided into two additional sub systems. These sub systems are the somatic
nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The somatic nervous system has
the primary function of regulating the actions of the skeletal muscles while the
autonomic nervous system works to regulate involuntary activity, such as the heart
rate or breathing.

Pierre Flourens promoted the idea that the cerebral cortex is not functionally

He used dogs and pigeons as his subjects because he assumed that the brains of

would destroy a part of the brain and note the behavior change (if there was one).
By doing this, Flourens found loss in coordination and equilibrium when the
cerebellum was removed. Paul Broca was the first to find localization of function
in the cerebral cortex. Tan was a man who suffered from speech inability. When
admitted to the hospital, Tan, was placed under Broca s care. By examining Tan,
Broca discovered that the left frontal lobe (Broca s Area) must be where language
and speech ability must be in the brain. Not long after, Tan died and a biopsy of his
brain revealed a large lesion in the frontal

Bill Gates once said, Be nice to nerds. Chances are you ll end up working for one. I
wish that I had heard this quote before I went to high school. I spent the first part
of my education needing some inspiration similar to this. To explain, I was bullied
in Elementary School. From Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, I was teased because I
was too smart. There were several times that I would hide on the back of the bus
crying after a full day of insults. There was one boy at my school that was the worst.
His name was Chaska Lacey. Chaska loved making new insults and nicknames
every day to insult my intelligence. And it wasn t always at school either. Once I
was jogging through the town of Waverly in order to stay in shape for basketball
season. I was running at a decently consistent pace before I passed Chaska and his

started following and shouting abuse at me. He said things such as, Hey, Booky. I

think that running was even possible for someone that spent that much time doing
homework. Can you teach me to read, please? I eventually out ran him, however it

20. Aquatic Refraction Lab
In scimatics we have been learning how light bends. In class we used a light
simulator called phet.It is very important to learn about light because we need light
to see and it s good to know how it works. My hypothesis is when you shine light
through objects the refraction will be low if the medium had a high density.
When light shines through objects with different densities, the light will react
differently. For example, if you shine light from air to water, the angle of incidence
is 30 degrees. Also When the beam of the light hits the surface of the water some of
the light reflects and the angle of it is 30 degrees too,but the angle of refraction is
only 22 degrees.when you shine light from water to air it reacts differently.... Show

When you shine light from water to air the intensity of the refraction is 95.33 and
intensity of the reflection is 4.67%. Finally, the intensity of the refraction when you
shine light through glass is 94.34,and the intensity of the reflection is 5.68%. The
reason that this is happening is because if the medium is more dense the intensity of
the refraction will be lower. This is why the refraction is lower when you shine light
through glass more than water because glass is more dense than water. In addition, if
the medium is more dense the intensity of the reflection will be higher and that is
why the intensity of the reflection when light was shine through glass is higher than
water.
The wavelength gets shorter when you shine it through glass more than water
because the more dense the medium is the wavelength becomes shorter. Also, when
you shine a beam of light through a prism it would reflect of one of the sides which
creates an angle and it also separate the light and forms into a

GENTLY (low setting) heat your water with coins on your burner. Does not need
to boil the water. If it starts to heat too quickly and/or notice bumping, turn the heat
down or off. Using tongs, place test tube #1 in the hot water bath. Orient the test
tube so it is not touching the bottom of the beaker. Wait until the salt dissolves, but
never looking down at a test tube. Instead, look through the side of the glass
beaker. Can use a stirring rod in the test tube to increase the dissolving rate. When a
test tube s contents dissolve, carefully remove it from the water bath with the
tongs, and place it in the rack with a thermometer in the test tube. As soon as the
crystallization starts (it looks like it s snowing inside the test tube), note the
temperature on the thermometer. If one miss the crystallization point, one can
place it back in the hot bath, and repeat steps 4 and 5. One at a time, repeat steps 4,

The first invention of the term Metaphysical Poetry by Samuel John as he pertained
to the group of writers in the beginning of the 17th century continues to give an
impertinent impression for this kind of works were made by men of high intellect.
Presenting new ideas and marveling through the art of conceit, imagery, and allusion
surprises every reader and challenges them to the wonders of the poet s learning. The
metaphysical poetsare the known writers for their originality. They were all unique
and original both in their thoughts and ideas. Instead of following the path of the
contemporary poets, they differentiated themselves in an unseen style of writing
before them. Because of this, they were known as the original poets of the English
Literature. There are classified major poets who lived during 1500 1799. They are
John Donne, George Herbert, Richard Crashaw, Abraham Cowley, Henry Vaughan,
Saint Robert Southwell, Thomas Traherne and Andrew Marvell. These are the well
known metaphysical poets of all time, but there are also lesser known poets and
considered metaphysical poets like Anne Bradstreet, George Chapman, Thomas

Elliot, another characteristic of this poetry is the Unified Sensibility . It implies the
interrelationship or a combination of human thoughts and feelings. It delineates itself

poets creates their work purely with the use of their intellect and not with their

The Theme and Style of Beowulf
Interpretations of Beowulf s theme vary much more than commentary on the poet s
style. In this essay I hope to state clearly some of the popularly mentioned themes
running through the poem, and to carefully delineate many aspects of the author s
style.
Many critics feel that the speech of Hrothgar between lines 1700 and 1784
encapsulates the moral of the poem.... He does not know the worse till inside him
great arrogance grows and spreads (Shippey 38). Is the theme of the poem that pride
kills? Hrothgar s ominous words do come back to haunt the hero more than once.

The decision to neuter a pet doesn t come easy for some people in Colorado
Springs, but there are a wide range of excellent reasons to consider this procedure.
Neutering is an irreversible procedure that prevents a dog or cat from reproducing,
but it can also improve your pet s health, safety and their quality of life. When you
neuter your pet, you will be doing your part to help control the homelessness crisis
for pets, which ultimately results in millions of healthy animals in the United States
being euthanized each year, because there simply isn t enough housing for all of the
animals. Here are just a few of the reasons why you should take your pet to the

It will also help lower his risk of prostate problems, such as prostate enlargement.
Taking your pet to the veterinarian to be neutered will eliminate the risk of him
getting testicular cancer, and testicular torsion, which is a painful, life threatening
condition. By having your pet neutered, you may be increasing his lifespan studies
have shown that neutered pets live as much as 3 years longer than pets who have not
been neutered.
Benefits of Neutering
As difficult as it be to make a veterinary appointment for neutering, there are several
benefits that come with the procedure. Neutering has been shown to reduce
aggressive behavior in some males and it reduces the tendency for them to roam. By
eliminating or significantly reducing your pet s natural instincts to roam, you will be
protecting him from accidental injuries resulting from encounters with other animals
or vehicles. It is offers peace of mind in knowing that neutering can reduce the
possibility of temporarily or permanently losing your pet.
Neutered animals may still mark their territory, but many people report that the
procedure significantly reduces or completely eliminates marking/spraying inside the
25. The Pros And Cons Of Fluoridation Of Water
It s in our water, our toothpaste, our mouthwash, and even our food. This may sound
like the opening sentence to some zombie virus horror flick, but this is a reality. The
element fluorine is added to many consumer products, such as mouthwash, toothpaste,
and municipal water. The fluoridation of these products began in 1945, when the
city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, became the first city to fluoridate its water supply
and had been ever present since. Some advantages of this process are fluorineaids in
preventing tooth carrie, or decay. Some disadvantages are fluorosis, a change in
enamel opacity. Some claim that Fluoridecan cause mental disabilities in children, but
claims and studies such as these are often discredited. Water fluoridationis a very
widespread topic which comes with its own advantages, disadvantages, and a unique
history.
Fluoridation of water began in the United States and Canada during 1945 and
1946, with Grand Rapids, Michigan being the first city ever to use fluoridated
water. The 1940 s and 1950 s began the crusade for fluoridated water, after research
done by the U.S. Public Health Service explored the effects of fluorine and the
recommended dosages. During this time, producers began to insert fluoride into
many products, such as toothpaste, mouthwash, or processed beverages. Much of the
research suggesting the percentages of fluoride in these products was conducted
before the 1980 s, so many different modes and suggestions have evolved.

there are many things with our system that really need to be fixed and one of the
most important things is giving more power and authority back to the judges.
Allowing the judicial system to work in a less free spoken and loosely watched

Bloody Sunday In Selma What does March 7th mean to you? On this significant
day, hundreds descended to Selma, Alabama in a bid to secure voting rights for
African Americans. These African Americans only ever asked for the simple right
to vote and to be treated with equality compared to whites, but all they ever got in
return, was disrespect. Blacks wanted to be treated like citizens, similar to anyone
else with the opposite skin color. Because of this, in 1965, blacks who were not
guaranteed voting rights marched and tried to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge to
stand up and even demand for what they believed in. Although their efforts were
great, local and state police stopped them before their march got too far. A few
attempts later, the demonstrators made their way across the bridge. Blacks had to
stop marching after 10 miles each day because they had 54 miles to go to complete
their walk. This march for equal rights was such a huge issue that there was a total
of 600 participants when they finally completed the walk! In fact, this didn t just
affect a few people, it affected any black woman, man, or even children too. For
example, eleven year old Desiree Robertson carried an American Flag helping lead
the group of marches down a rolling stretch of a highway. These people walked for
their freedom and never gave up for what they believed in. Now you may think that
this march was just some walk blacks took to be noticed, but walking in this march,

Ginseng is a common herbal remedy used to boost energy. There are three main
species of Ginseng including Oriental, Siberian, and American, however, all
species have the common side effects of reduced stress, improved vitality, and
improved immune system. Subsequently, there are also many alternatives that are
prescription remedies for lack of energy, one of which being Adderall. Adderall,
also known by its generic name and drug classification as amphetamine and
dextroamphetamine, is generally used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), however, is also less popularly used as an energy
booster. Although both of the drugs are similar in function, they are very different
when compared and contrasted. While both drugs are similar in utility, their
administration and dosage forms vary. Being that Ginseng is available in both
herb and root form, it can be transformed to be administered in several different
ways. For example, for a more preferred and natural administration, Ginseng can
easily be brewed, chewed, swallowed, or stewed to be ingested, however, it can also

customers form partnerships in which demand information is shared and orders are

On August 6th and 9th, 1945 the first atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima
and Nagasaki Japan. With the use of these new weapons a door was opened that
could never be closed, a new and uncertain era was now upon the world, and the use
of atomic power could mean the betterment or destruction of a nation at a moment s

implications that you may or may not know about. The Manhattan Project is well
known to have developed the first two atomic bombs, fat man, and little boy, but
nuclear technology was being researched many years before this. Uraniumwas first
found in 1789 by Martin Klaproth, and was discovered to have ionizing radiation in
1895 by Wilhelm Rontgen (Outline History of Nuclear Energy). More and more
information on uranium and other materials were being discovered, such as:
radioactive materials emitting alpha particles in 1896 by Henri Becquerel, in 1902
the discovery of radiation being a spontaneous event by Ernest Rutherford, Niels Bohr
and his increased understanding of the atom, in 1932 when James Chadwick
discovered the neutron, etc. Other nations also spent resources on developing nuclear
technology such as in Russia with their Radium Institute of Leningrad FTI, but was
hampered with Stalin s purges that eliminated prominent scientists working there;
British scientists developed the concept of the atomic bomb with the MAUD

Likewise, out of desire to assist infertile couples and overcome the drawbacks of

Why stop now? Although there have been various arguments proposed against the
use of any cloning techniques, there are healthcare issues that validate the use of
cloning procedures.
Controversy has developed from the fear of how cloning will be used. Since the
late 1980 s cloning techniques have been used to identify certain genes that cause
disease. The primary work of the Human Genome Project was to develop three
research tools that will allow scientists to identify genes involved in both rare and
common disease (Collins, 1995). These gene identification tools are what researchers
call positional cloning.
Positional cloning techniques are used to identify genes based solely on their
location within the subject s total genetic material or genome. There is no prior
knowledge of the genes function within the region of which the gene is identified.
Positional cloning techniques for confirming the role of susceptible genes rely on
sufficient prior understanding of the disease process to implicate possible disease
related genes. The three tools involved in positional cloning are 1) The Physical
Map (Figure 1), 2) The Genetic Map (Figure 2), and 3) The Sequence Map of the
DNA nucleotide (Figure 3) . Each tool allows for better focus on the gene being
located. As Figure 1 illustrates, whole chromosomes are cut into large fragments of
DNA and then cloned. Then cloned DNA pieces are realigned in the order in which
they originally occurred in the chromosomes and

Are you wondering what method acting is all about? Below are the basics of this
acting method developed by Lee Strasberg and practiced at the Actors Studio by
actors like Marlon Brando and Geraldine Page.
1) Relaxation
An important goal of this acting method is to get rid of the muscular tensions that
keeps the actor s instrument from being free. Lee Strasberg believed that actors who
can relax their muscles reach a higher state of concentration and responsiveness.
2) Sense Memory and Concentration
The actor develops concentration through sense memory exercises. As the name

experiences. A beginning method actor will first explore a real object, like a cup of

Not only do sense memory exercises help method actors believe in the given
circumstances of the scene they re working on, but they give them great focus and
concentration.
3) Emotional Memory
Method actors learn to use sense memory to recall emotional experiences from their
past. Instead of trying to remember or force an emotion, the actor tries to re create
with his senses the circumstances surrounding the experience. For example, he would
use sense memory to re create where he was at the time, what he smelled, the sounds
he heard, etc. With practice, an accomplished method actor can trigger the right
emotion for his character within seconds by simply recalling a single smell or sound.

because of their mistrust of outsiders and their desire to maintain their family

Over 50,000,000 peoples lives have been saved by the drug penicillin (Sim). Today
Penicillin and other antibiotics are crucial in the lives of people. One bad thing
about penicillin is approximately 11.5% of the population is allergic to it so the
diseases they receive that have to be healed by penicillin or other antibiotics might
not heal as fast or maybe even kill them. Another negative aspect to Penicillinis it
weakens the immune system(Cooper). Most of the body survives off of friendly
bacteriaand if antibiotics kill bacteria in large numbers, then it kind of defeats the
purpose. Penicillin is used to treat many diseases and viruses that can be deadly if
medicine was not applied, and they are easily accessible. After the discovery and

39. The War Of Virginia And The Slave Exchange
The early nineteenth century was a spiral for virginia and the slave exchange as a
whole. The British were a huge power in the scare of Virginia and the country as a
whole. Their freedom efforts worried plantation onwners and the common people.
But the most feared were the internal enemy. Taylors book the internal enemy is
actually the houndreds of thousands of slaves that were residing in the south at the
time. The fear of these two enemies almost drove Virginians mad. At the start of the
revolution british ships would dock and collect slaves in exchange for their
freedom. The promise of freedom drove many indentured servants to run in exile to
the british, leaving everything behind, even their families. For enslaved Blacks with
an eye toward freedom the war offered several options: they could fight for the U.S.,
run away and seek freedom among the Native Americans or join His Majesty s
service. Many chose the latter, convinced that a British victory would hasten the end
of slavery. The British nurtured that belief to some extent, and promised the slaves
free emigration to British colonies in Canada and the West Indies in exchange for
their service. During the revolution nearly 6000 slaves fled Virginia to join the
british. This did not work out too well for both sides. The British were not equipeed
enough to deal with so many slaves, thus their promise of freedom was broken. Out
of the 6,000 slaves only a marginal 2,000 say freedom. The rest had either died

Revolts started to break out in Mexico as the government moved towards
centralism in the mid 1830s. The Texas revolt was a successful one as Texas was

Mexican economy was not strong enough to provide manufactured goods to
frontiersmen at reasonable prices. The frontiersmen felt that they were politically

By the time of the war, New Mexicans were enormously dependent on US for trade.
The trade included goods made of metal such as hinges, hair pins, and scissors. The
trade also include cloth as it was produced inexpensively by using machines in
United States than by hands in Mexico. Silver was a major commodity of the
Mexicans.
41. Jostens Renaissance Education Program Analysis
As my school s class president, there have been various times where my school was
impacted through Jostens. Through the Jostens Renaissance Education program,
there have been numerous positive outcomes. There has been an increase in our
school spirit along with the engagement of the students in school activities and
events. Students are developing their own unique character which they spread
through the halls of our school. More students than before are engaging in school
activities along with supporting our sports teams. Students are creating a positive
climate along with spreading culture. Much of this credit goes to the Jostens
program as their resources enabled the students to engage and connect with others in
a simpler way. Having a Jostens program at my school improves the climate in our
school. It allows students to connect with other peers and our teachers. If there is an
achievement done by a student, there is positivity reflected off of that. Students are
encouraged to do their best and succeed in life to accomplish their goals. One
important aspect this program promotes is engaging its... Show more content on

As mentioned before, the opportunities the program provides improves the school s
climate; however, the opportunities also improve the school s culture. Some of the
opportunities include engaging in discussions or developing conversations based off
recent issues or other topics. These discussions spread options around the school
allowing my school to become a diverse place. Our teachers take account of different
teaching methods along with activities to experience different issues, which is
encouraged by this program. The more the students engage in school activities, the
more it develops their character is a positive way. Their character is then spread
throughout the school and community through discussion, options, etcetera. On a
daily basis, students reflect a positive and unique

Aftermath Essay
Dow s Expansion into Nuclear Weapons and the Aftermath
Rocky Flats Plant, a nuclear weapons production facility managed by Dow from
1951 to 1975, produced plutonium triggers for hydrogen bombs. A number of
accidents took place under Dow s management during this period. In 1957,
radioactive particles were released into the atmosphere due to the burning of
plutonium dust by a fire in the facility. In 1967, 3,500 barrels (560 m3) of lubricants
and solvents, laden with plutonium, leaked into the ground. Another fire took place in
1969 and it was the costliest industrial accident in the USA up to that time. Finally,
Rockwell International took over the management of the facility in 1975.

Agent Orange was another of the Dow s horrific innovations. This time it was with

chemical warfare in Vietnam. US air force planes bombed jungles and paddy fields
with Agent Orange to destroy forest cover and food crops used by the Vietnamese
resistance and villagers. The defoliant which was poison in itself was also
contaminated with dioxins which caused serious health effects in generations of
humans. In 2005, a lawsuit was filed by Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange against
Dow and Monsanto Co. The lawsuit was dismissed whereas, Dow settled for $180
million with 4,000 American veterans exposed to the herbicide during the Vietnam
War in 1984. The Vietnamese victims are still waiting for justice to be delivered.

43. The United Nations Convention Of Combat Desertification
The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) was ratified in
1996. It is a multilateral agreement which was made to address desertification.
Desertification is defined as the land degradation in arid, semi arid and dry sub
humid areas, generally known as drylands . Many African states believed their
sustainable development was being obstructed due to issues such as poverty, and food
insecurity and were not being given necessary attention by the international political
community .
The need for an international convention was based on the argument that although the
effects of desertification are often felt locally, it could not be ignored that globally
contributed changes such as climate change and changes in soil and ... Show more

The goals are quantifiable; however, the degree to which they produce measurability
is still weak. Land desertification could be analyzed against other factors such as
geology, and human action . In addition the use of GIC and various soil indicators
and food production can be used to quantify the improvement of desertification. The
use of GDP as well as the Human Development Index can be used to measure the
improvements of poverty and education.
Identification and Description of Challenges
One of the greatest difficulties that arises when dealing with an environmental issue
such as desertification on an international scale is the fact that its affects are not
geographically universal. For instance, regions of Africa and Asia are highly
susceptible to land degradation and its affects are often only apparent at the local
level. As such, during early debates concerning desertification there was much
reluctance coming from developed countries to recognize it as a global concern.
Many developed countries, especially within Europe, argued that land degradation
was a local problem that results from the cumulative
44. Compare And Contrast Blockbuster Films Vs American
Films
American films have been categorized in many different categories called genres.
Examples of genres include action, adventure, drama, romance, thriller, horror,
comedy, family, science fiction and fantasy. All of these examples of genres can be
seen in two categories of film: blockbuster and independent. Both categories have
some common themes and also include many differences.
Blockbuster films are what I think of when I think of a movie. Growing up in the
1980s, Blockbuster films included Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, E.T., The Goonies
and many more action and adventure movies. Blockbuster films are films that are
usually directed and produced through large studios. These studios usually have the
best animation, graphics, scenes and best actors or actresses. This is mostly due in
part to the endless about of money they have to budget for their films. Hollywood
studios have such large pockets that they not only have the best of the best, they also
are able to control many obstacles that independent may face. Obstacles like foreign
relations, advertising and investors. Large budgets allow for Hollywood blockbusters
to be shown worldwide and get the visibility through advertising. Advertising big
films is imperative to get people out to the theatres. Domestic and international
investors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The independent films will not have as much of the action as a blockbuster film. They
cannot afford to have the expensive scenes, film in international areas, use computer
generated imagery or employ the biggest named stars. Many independent films have
been financially supported by the cast of the film. Making the result of the film ever
more important for the success of all involved. Because of the lack of funding for
independent films the chance of international success is very slim. Advertising is non
existent, so success outside the United States could only come with a star actor or
actresses. (Lewis

46. Paying Attention To Children Research Paper
A person s childhood has an enormous impact on the person they become when they
grow up. Because of this, it is essential that do our best to give our children the best
childhood that they can have in order to nurture successful adults. One way we can
do this is by giving children the attention they need. In 2010 the average amount of
time that parents spent with their children each week was 13.7 hours (Schulte). This
must change because paying attention to children is essential for a number of
reasons. First, paying attention to children improves the quality of the childs
communication. If parents, guardians, or other loved ones show an active interest in
the childs life, the child is more likely to communicate with their parents or guardians

Married couples make up 68% of all families with children under 18, compared to
93% in 1950 (US 2015 Census). This demonstrates that more and more children are
living in households with single parents. Single parents have to deal with jobs and
other sources of stress making it difficult to give their children the attention they
need. Additionally, single parents are the only ones that are providing for the family
so they have a lot on their plate. This can provide stress on the child because they
can feel unloved or even hated. As the rate of single parents go up, so does the
amount of children that are not receiving enough

49. Gevonese Crime Family Counterculture Essay
A counterculture is a subculture that rejects the major values of the larger society
and replaces them with a new set of cultural patterns (Thomas). The Gevonese crime
family is one of the countercultures in America. The reason why the Gevonese family
is a counterculture is because of their acts of crime and their code of OmertГЎ a rule
that forbids speaking or providing knowledge about specific activities, even the
activities of a criminal group (Farlex). Their actions and code of OmertГЎ is
unacceptable to Americans because most of Americans believe in an honest living
and are taught that cooperating with law enforcement is the right thing to do. The
Gevonese crime family is one of the strongest organized crime families in the
country and is one of the Five Families of New York. In the 1930 s, the family was
established after Charles Lucky Luciano but was reestablished after Vito Gevonese
took control in 1957. The family is unique in the fact that they have had just five
members testify against them as witnesses for the state in their history. Their regard
for OmertГЎ has protected them from prosecution and helped to maintain their
influence in New York and nearby areas. In years past, however, they could not

Assured of success, Joshua renewed his plans to conquer Ai. The enemy forces
were lured into the open so that the thirty thousand men who had stationed beyond
the city by night were able to attack Ai from the near and set it afire. The defenders
were annihilated, their king was hanged and the site was reduced to rubble. When
Israel makes its second attack, the people of Ai as well as the inhabitants of Bethel
vacate their cities to pursue the enemy (Josh. 8: 17). Not all of the Canaanites tried
to resist Israel s invasion. One group, the Gibeonites, avoided destruction by
deceiving the Israelites into making a covenant of peace with them (Joshua 9:1).
Alarmed by the defection of the Gibeonites to Israel, a group of southern Canaanite
kings, led by Adoni zedek of Jerusalem, formed a coalition against the invading force.
The kings threatened to attack the Gibeonites, causing Joshua to come to the defense
of his new allies. Because of supernatural intervention, the Israelites were able to
defeat the coalition. Joshua then launched a southern campaign which resulted in the
capture of numerous Canaanite cities (Joshua 10:1). Joshua s third and last military
campaign was in northern Canaan. In that region King Jabin of Hazor formed a
coalition of neighbouring kings to battle with the Israelites. Joshua made a surprise
attack upon them at the waters of Merom, utterly defeating his foe (Joshua 11:1 15).
The invasion of Canaan met with phenomenal success; large
51. Motives of Adolf Hitler in Auden s Epitaph on a Tyrant...
Adolf Hitler was a very powerful man, and had a disturbing vision of how the
world should be. W.H. Auden was interested in Adolf Hitler, and this interest can
be seen in Auden s poetry. September 1, 1939 and Epitaph on a Tyrant are two
poems in which Auden scrutinizes Hitler s actions. Auden uses symbolism in these
two poems to illustrate the different aspects of Hitler s life and actions. To begin
with, Epitaph on a Tyrant personified Hitler s obsession with perfection of a kind.
The obsession with perfection that Hitler held and the dream of a world where
blonde hair and blue eyes ruled upset Auden. To attempt genocide on all non Aryan
races was an atrocity and Epitaph on a Tyrant embodied Auden s emotions of the

With the army he had raised, Hitler was able to invade Poland on September 1,
1939 and instigate the largest scale war to date. Speaking of September 1, 1939, the
poem September 1, 1939 sheds a lot of light on Hitler s regime. September 1, 1939
gives insightful knowledge stating, From Luther until now / That has driven a culture
mad. This sums up the reason that could explain why Hitler was obsessed with the
Aryan race. Lutheran is a religion that is prevalent in most of Germany. The founder,
Martin Luther, was anti Semitic. For this reason, many Germans were brought up
to be anti Semitic. Martin Luther s principles no doubt had a large influence on
the German people, especially the Nazis. September 1, 1939 gave reasons as to
why the Nazis and Hitler held such hatred towards minority groups. September 1,
1939 also questions Hitler s past and shows how parenting may have had a large
effect on Hitler s future actions. To understand Hitler s past, one must find what
occurred at Linz. Hitler grew up in the town of Linz, which is in Austria. His father
frequently beat him when he was growing up and denied Adolf the right to follow
Adolf s dream and become an artist. During the war, Hitler turned Linz into an
artillery practice field and blew it to smithereens.

stated, the implication is that they drank something. Again indirectly, but toward the
end we see the symbolic cranes stepping delicately away from the commotion,
mirroring the couple s separation from their life. After they kiss, their eyes close, and
the cranes fly away into the sun. The implication, though never direct, is that our

though she is ready for what he is about to do. The two cranes suddenly spread their

them off.
The short story is difficult to understand since the author wrote the story in a tricky
way, made up of hints that need to be put together along with the main symbol to
understand it. The cranes representing the old couple are standing among the
shoreline together like a loving couple admiring the view. The couple is sitting in
the car reminiscing their years together and joking around. Their conversational
tone sure makes it obvious how much they love each other. The story starts off
describing the couple parked along the shoreline looking at the birds and how
fascinated they are by them, specially the woman. The man explains to her how
those cranes in specific are very rare and there aren t many left. The woman makes a
joke about the small birds looking like clowns in front of big elegant birds, then the
man laughs in a way and she asks him if he is all right, and I believe this is the story
s rising action. The old man then changes his mind and
53. Symptoms And Treatment Of Chicken Pox
Introduction
The illness that I have chosen for my report is Chicken Pox. Chicken Pox is a
common disease amongst children. The disease is highly contagious and can spread
through contact with someone who has chicken pox. Chicken pox in children can
spread through cough or sneeze and also through the clothing or bed linen of an
affected person. Most children encounter chicken pox once in their infancy. However
through proper care and precautions, the illness can be avoided. During my research
for this paper, I have come across effective precautions that can be taught to children
to avoid this illness.

The virus usually affects the nerves and commonly causes the chicken pox. Various
medicines have been developed to treat the virus, include some vaccines which can
help in preventing the diseases cause by the varicella virus (Hoffmann, 2008).
Symptoms of Chicken Pox
Usually the chicken pox infections lasts around 8 to 10 days. The most common
symptom of chicken pox is the red rash. The red rash is extremely itchy and appears
as a spot. The rash that appears in the initial period goes through three stages. The
first stage is raised red bumps that cause itchiness. The red bumps break over in a
few days. The next stage is the fluid filled blisters, known as vesicles, that are
formed after the red bumps break. These fluid filled blisters should not be
scratched. In the last stage the fluid filled blisters break and are then covered by
crusts and scabs. This is the last stage after which the healing process begins. New
spots appear every day on the body therefore it is possible that the affected person
experiences the three stages of the rash at the same time (Mayo Clinic, 2015). The
rashes always appear in clusters and start appearing first at the back, stomach and
chest. The rashes commonly occur on the face, behind the ears, on stomach chest and
back and on the arms and legs.
High fever is also a common symptom experiences by people affected by chicken pox
disease. The fever can be as high as 103 104 Fahrenheit. Many children also
experience extreme fatigue
