First Amendment Rights Pros And Cons
First Amendment Rights allow us to do simple things that keep this country in check. But recently,
there have been court cases on people who are affected by laws that were wrote many years ago.
Over the years, the government has changed, the people have changed, and even the country. Along
with that, obviously laws have too. In order to keep up with developing technology, our laws might
have to bend a little.
To what extent in the U.S. does the government†federal, state, and local†have the duty to
monitor internet content? This is a question that many U.S citizens don t know the answer to.
Everyday, people around the country search up anything they want without censorship. If you were
warned that the government can see everything you search, would you browse what you usually do
ever again?
The government sees what you do on the internet, but what if, that’s not all. They have the
access to see your day to day life. They can track you, they can see your posts, and they can see
what you have done through the course of your life. When is all this taking their privilege too far?
They are on the verge of violating freedom of speech. Expressing in any way, your beliefs and

the Electronic Frontier Foundation, there is a lot of evidence pointing that the NSA is guilty.
Although, they are not the only ones who were supervising internet behaviors of people, big
individuals have also been found culpable. Due to this case, others have been warned not to do
illegal things because someone will be tracking it, and also it shows that you should not be the
one tracking in this first place either. The moral of this situation is to make sure your actions are
not considered illegal, because it is likely you will be caught in the crossfires of this controversial

The Anthem For The Civil Rights Movement
We Shall Overcome by Peter Seeger, many would describe to be the anthem for the Civil Rights
Movement or 1960s Civil Rights Movement (sometimes referred to as the African American Civil
Rights Movement although the term African American was not widely used in the 1950s and
1960s). It encompasses social movements in the United States whose goals were to end racial
segregation and discrimination against African Americans and to secure legal recognition and
federal protection of the citizenship rights enumerated in the Constitution and federal law. During
this period many folk and blues artistes music were protest songs, to speak out against the justice of
Blacks and other unconstitutional acts. These music not only protested the injustice but it brought
together people of all ethnicity/race, social class and regions, in solidarity to form a major
campaigns of civil resistance. The conventional protest melodies in the United States goes way
beyond the nineteen century and into the colonial period, the American Revolutionary War and the
corollary. In the nineteenth century topical subjects for protest songs included abrogation,
subjugation, destitution, and the Civil War among different subjects. In the twentieth century civil
liberties, women s rights, financial injustice, governmental issues and war were among the well
known subjects for protest songs. This paper will explore the protest songWe Shall Overcomeand its

Essay Perceval
Perceval
In the story Perceval edited by Roger Sherman Loomis and Laura Hibbard Loomis, Perceval the
main character has many adventures, in which he learns many lessons about life.
The story starts out with Perceval, the son of a widow, out in the forest listening to the sweet
season and all the warbling of the birds. In the distance he discovers knights riding towards him. At
first he thought that they were devils, which his mother had warned him to stay away from. Then he
saw all their bright and shiny armor and he thought it was the most beautiful thing he had ever
seen, so according to his mother, angels were more beautiful than everything else in the world. ...

Perceval was very stubborn didn t want to listen and he went even though it hurt his mother so.
Before he left his mother gave him clothes and some words of advise about ladies and lords. She
also told him of church and told him to always go and worship the Lord. Perceval agreed. On the
morning that he left his mother chased after him and fell down at the end of the bridge, but he didn
t turn around he just kept going.
Perceval rode the whole day and slept in the forest that night. The next morning he woke up and
began to ride until he came across and tent with splendid colors, which caught his attention. Inside
the tent he found a maiden who was unattended at that time. He remembered what his mother had
told about ladies, to always receive a kiss and a ring. Perceval misunderstood this to mean that he
was supposed to take it whether or not the maiden wanted to give it to him or not. This particular
maiden was very upset after he forced himself onto her and took her ring.
When her lover returned Perceval was gone, and the maiden was sitting alone crying. She told
him the story of Perceval and he was very upset. Her lover told her that she had disgraced him and
until he had killed Perceval her horse would have nothing to eat and she would not have any more
luxuries.
Meanwhile, Perceval rode on down the road to King Arthur s castle. Outside there was a knight
bearing red arms who had took King Arthur s golden cup. Perceval

Debs Arguments Against The Constitution Of The United States
During the height of WW1, tensions were rising between Americans. Some believed you must
support your country and all that it does to no avail and no protest, while some believed they
should have been able to express their basic civil rights. This side was largely led by famous
socialist, Eugene Debs who believed the people had been blindly following rule from the higher ups
deserved the chance to voice their own opinion. Debs believed that the fundamental rights of the 1st
Amendment should not be put in jeopardy no matter the situation. On the other hand, Woodrow
Wilson, 28th president believed that the only way to unify the country and have success in the war
would be to prohibit official protest against the Government and military. The Government under no
extenuating circumstances possible should be allowed to take away the right to free speech.... Show

time, the US was born by people speaking out against flaws in the land they inhibited, the 13

this, the act was still passed, a law that gave far too much power to the central government and

Analysis Of 320 By Emily Dickinson 320
Emily Dickinson wrote 320 in a form in a form that is not traditional. It is written in a closed
sense given it is written quatrains that frequently rhyme, but it does not fall into a traditional
pattern. Dickinson generally follows the pattern of writing the first and third lines of each
stanza in iambic tetrameter and the second and fourth lines in iambic trimeter. Other times, she
uses Trochees in random times making the form sound choppy. For example, in the first stanza
she uses the trochee certain and winter . Both of these create a rough sentence. The poem goes
into pause at many times throughout the poem, thus bringing out the dissatisfaction and
difficult time the poem is describing. There is no way to tell who is speaking in this poem.
Dickinson generally wrote as if the narrator was somebody parallel or close to herself; however,
in 320 there are no signs of if it is Dickinson or one of her other popular characters. The narrator
seems to be speaking as if they are part of a group, as the only pronouns mentioned are us and we
. This us could be up for interpretation; it could be a small group experiencing death or even the
entire human population as a whole and their view of God. Dickinson uses strong imagery in the
first stanza. The reader imagines the booming sounds of large cathedral organs and the way the
bass of them shakes your soul. She adds a negative connotation to these shakes by stating it
oppresses the narrator. Following, Dickinson uses the metaphor of a slant of light on a winter
afternoon to the opening her internal pain. As the slant of light opens, it is essentially opening up a
seal of despair. Nothing external has affected the body; however, the heartbreak from the pain the
narrator is dealing with leaves behind marks on her soul. She follows this theme through the entire
poem that the slant of light has brought pain upon her. Dickinson starts with a relatively positive
tone. When stating There s a certain Slant of light / Winter Afternoons the reader has the visual of
a small light shining through on a white surface. This tone quickly changes when it is followed by
That oppresses, like the Heft / Of Cathedral Tunes giving off the interpretation of a light that hits

Testicular Cancer
Testicular Cancer
Testicular cancer is a Cancer that develops in the testicle. Usually only one testicle is affected, but
in some cases both testicles are affected. Testicular cancers starts in the cells that develop into
sperm, which are called sperm cells. (Australia, 2015).
It is a cancer that commonly occurs in men. Young men around the ages of 18 to 40 are most at
risk of developing testicular cancer. Common symptoms of testicular cancer includes a lump in the
testis, the feeling of heaviness in the scrotum and the change in the size and shape of the testicles.
Across the Australian demographic, survival rates for testicular cancer have increased in the

(Blecher, 2014) This is usually found in 3 to 5 boys in every 100. Men with a history of
undescended testes have about ten times the chance of testicular cancer; the risk may be lower
if surgery is used to fix the problem which usually happens before one year of age. (Blecher,
2014). Another risk factor, is previous testicular cancer. This affects about 1 in 25 men who
have had testicular cancer in one testis develop cancer in the other testis . (Blecher, 2014).
Previous male infertility is also another risk factor in testicular cancer. It is shown that Men
diagnosed with fertility problems, particularly those with a history of undescended testes, may
have a greater chance of developing testicular cancer . (Blecher, 2014). This is due to pre
cancers cell sometimes found in testicular biopsies from infertile men (Blecher, 2014), however
this does not conclude that all pre cancer cells will develop into cancer. Furthermore, family
history is also considered as a risk factor. Testicular cancer can also be through family and
therefore if a family member is diagnose with the cancer, there is a minor risk that someone else
is also going to get it. Men who suffer from Down syndrome will also be at a higher genetic risk of
testicular cancer due to genes mutation.

Claude Manet – Impressionism – 19Th . Oscar-Claude Monet
Claude Manet Impressionism 19th
Oscar Claude Monet was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and
productive expert of the movement s philosophy of communicating one s observations before
nature particularly applied to plein air landscape painting. The expression Impressionism is from the
title of his piece Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was shown in 1874 in the
first of the independent presentations mounted by Monet and his partners as an alternate choice to
the Salon de Paris.
Monet s aspiration of painting the French countryside drove him to embrace a technique for
painting the same scene repeatedly, trying to catch the changing of light and the death of the
seasons. From ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that showed up in the pivotal 1874 presentation, however more as of late, the Moscow picture has
been favoured.
Monet has been portrayed as the main thrust behind Impressionism . Essential to the art of the
Impressionist painters was the comprehension of the effects of light on the local colour of objects,
and the impacts of the contrast of hues with each other. Monet s long profession as a painter was
spent in the quest for this aim.
In 1856, his shot meeting with Eugene Boudin, a painter of little beaches, opened his eyes to the
idea of plein air painting. From that time, with a short intrusion for military administration, he
committed himself to hunting down better than ever strategies for painterly expression.
In 1877 a progression of works of art at St Lazare Station had Monet taking a gander at smoke and
steam and the way that they influenced shading and perceivability, being here and there misty and
some of the time translucent. He was to further utilize this in study in the painting of the effects of
mist and rain on the landscape. The investigation of the impacts of climate was to develop into
various arrangements of works of art in which Monet often painted a similar subject in various
lights, at various hours of the day, and through the

Analysis Of The Campaign Game
Pg. 263 277
The Campaign Game
As a fun fact, the term campaign has its origins from the military as this was the name given for
when the general had a strategy towards accomplishing a big goal. o The whole point of a
campaign in politics is that the primary nominee must create their own image of exemplary
leadership and confidence so they gain more supporters as Election Day grows closer and closer. o
Technology also has started to play a major role within the political system of the United States as a
whole.
Back in the good old days, the way campaigns would work is that the primary nominees would
get their own train and travel the nation to speak and visit as many people as they possibly could
afford. o In today s world, the live television broadcasts of the nominee s campaign is the primary
way messages are spread to majority of the nation. o This has a bad side to it though because this
gives the media too much power and the media then begins to influence who to vote for rather than
the candidates themselves. o In addition to this, the creation the World Wide Web further increased
the amount of dependency campaigns have upon technology. o In fact, one of the very first things
primary nominees take the time to do is create a website so that the population are able to see their
stance on all the primary issues occurring.
The use of technology has also had a great impact upon the funding for these type of campaigns. o
Back when Obama was running, majority of

Health Issues Of The United States
The United States has encountered numerous problems throughout its history. An ongoing problem
that has affected millions of Americans is poor health. Poor health can be defined as two things:
unstable mental state or unstable physical state. The United States of America has experienced both
of these characteristics with its citizens. Americans have been hit hard with these healthissues for
decades. America is one of the unhealthiest countries in the world and many people do not
understand why. There is a strong correlation between mental health and physical health. One
health issue can lead to another, which in turn, makes people feel as if they are trapped in a
horrific cycle of living in poor conditions. This causes people to feel insecure about themselves
emotionally and physically, creating disgust in themselves. One of the most challenging objectives
for individuals is engaging in physical activity. This is the reason why health is an issue in
America. Individuals who lack physical health can eventually lead to depression and other
psychological issues and vice versa.
A common condition that indicates if someone is unhealthy is obesity. Obesity is the state of being
highly overweight. More than half of the adults in the United States struggle with obesity every
day of their lives. Obesity is influenced by multiple factors such as physiological, environmental,
behavioral, and genetics. The primary cause of obesity is from the intake of large quantities of fatty
foods.

The First Domino Of Fall
History is often a series of processes. Very rarely do important changes happen out of the blue.
These changes are brought about by little progressions, so the question becomes what is the first
domino to fall. In some respects, the religions of the American colonists seem like a small thing,
yet without religion it is unlikely that the New England Colonies would have developed into the
nation we have today. Religious beliefs play huge role in shaping the paradigms of individuals and
ultimately individuals shape nations. As we go through colonial history we can begin to see a
pattern where communities will divide and unite then divide again, all on the basis of their
evolving religious ideals.
At the time of the colonization of America, Protestant religions were on the rise. It all started when
King Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic church so that he could divorce his wife, Catherine
of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn. To replace the Catholic authority, the Anglican church was
formed, still essentially Catholic in overall theology and practices, but with the king himself as
the authority of the church in place of the pope. King Henry VIII ordered that all of the churches
should then be equipped with an English translation of the Bible. Prior to that most copies of the
Bible were only written in Latin, and therefore not accessible to the general public. As a result of
this change more people outside of the clergy began to have access to the Bible. During this time the

Conformity And Obedience To Authority In Cool Hand Luke
Social influence plays a big part in how a person acts in a situation. A person s behaviour that has
been influenced can be shown in 2 ways: Conformity, which is when a person changes their
attitudes and behaviours to fit in, and obedience to authority, which is when a person obeys orders
from someone who has a higher status than them. This essay will look at and analyze examples of
conformity, non conformity, and obedience to authority in the movie Cool Hand Luke. Cool Hand
Luke It looks at the everyday lives of prisoners, and how they cope with the many trials around
them. The main character, Luke, has to make difficult decisions which involve him conforming to a

This is shown many times throughout the movie due to the fact the movie is surrounding the
lives of prisoners. One example would be right at the beginning of the movie when new
prisoners enter the farm. When bringing up one of the prisoner s reason for why he is here, He
tries to explain in an informal but polite way that it was an accident. Boss Paul then goes up to
the prisoner, hits him, and says that he has to address the person speaking to him right now as
Captain, and the others as Boss. For the rest of the time with the Captain and the Bosses, the
other prisoners continue to address them as Captain and Boss. The other prisoners see that if
they don t address the authorities as Captain or Boss, negative consequences will follow. To
avoid these negative consequences, the acknowledge Captain and the Bosses as authority and
obey their demands. Another example of obedience to authority involves the ditch outside of the
prisoners resting house. After running away for a second time, the Bosses start to treat Luke
like a slave. After all the other prisoners finished work, Boss Paul calls Luke over, points to a
ditch and asks why Luke s dirt is in Boss Keen s ditch, to which Luke replies with I don t know
Boss . Boss Paul then tells Luke to get the dirt out, so Luke proceeds to shovel the dirt out of the
ditch. Boss Shorty comes along after Luke is halfway through getting the dirt out and asks Luke
why there is dirt on his yard. Luke tells him he doesn t know and Boss Shorty tells him to put the
dirt back in, and so Luke puts the dirt back in the ditch. Boss Paul comes back and asks him why
is there still dirt in the ditch, to which Luke replies again with I don t know boss . Boss Paul then
shoves him to the ground and tells him to get the dirt out again, and Luke complies. This cycle
goes on until nighttime when all the prisoners are getting ready for bed. The bosses bully

Solving the Foreclosure Crisis Essay
The Foreclosure Crisis is the direct effect of the mortgage crisis that became apparent in 2007, so
in order to solve the current crisis we must tackle the cause, not just the symptoms. The issue at the
heart of the mortgage crisis is that in most cases the cost of the mortgage has risen above the
market value of the home, trapping the homeowner. To solve the crisis both in the short term and to
prevent similar crises in the long term, steps must be taken to achieve two broad goals: make
mortgages affordable by regulating mortgages and mortgageproviders and lowering interest rates,
and stabilize the market value of homes by increasing demand and decreasing supply.
In the past, governmental regulations on banks and mortgage lenders ... Show more content on

These actions will protect debtors from unjust rates and will ultimately protect creditors from
defaults on their loans.
The next essential regulatory act is to limit the size of mortgages. A regulation should be put in
place that prohibits the granting of a mortgage that is over 100% of the market value of house. In
the past, when house prices were rising it seemed safe to take out a mortgage higher than the value
of a house, but that is a root cause of all mortgage crises. The economy naturally grows and shrinks
and so does the market value of a house. When mortgages represent more than the market value of
the collateral and the value of the house drops, homeowners cannot sell their house for the
equivalent of the principal and if the homeowner cannot make payments, foreclosure or bankruptcy
are the only options. This clearly limits the lenders, but it is a necessary regulation to protect
lenders from losing money. In the case of a foreclosure in which the mortgage is worth more than
the collateral, the lender suffers the difference and risks its own bankruptcy. While this regulation
may seem to hurt lenders, truly it protects them.
Debtors who are close to foreclosure should have further rights protected by law. In the case where
a debtor cannot make their monthly payments due to financial situations beyond their control, they
should have the right to renegotiate for lower payments through

It is important to note that this year has been projected from statistics used to study the relative
decline of America and fast growth of China. It by no means projects of the decline of the US in
the long run. The US even after this decline still holds a quarter of the world s GDP. It would be
hard to imagine a nation that relies on investment and international trade with the current economic
leader by over taking it. China may yet be at a stalemate until proven that it can hold and invest
their yield to correct their existing problems such as poverty, labour issues and push the Yuan

will take longer than the near future.
In order to see where the US dollar is going we have to analyse the current market and study the

Remember to always think of the future. Once it s all implemented and built, you can administer
your network.
When administrating a network, you have to ensure critical services have as close to 100%
uptime, because if they are down, your users are going to hassle you all the time and that can be
quite annoying with some users. When maintaining a network, you also have a number of other
tasks to perform every day. These include:
User management
Adding, removing and apply security to user accounts and groups
Hardware
Upgrading hardware
Replacing faulting hardware
Software
Providing support for applications and operating systems
Ensuring critical data is being backed up
Monitoring

One of the hardest challenges in administrating a network is application support. You can very
rarely just add a major application or a network service without any issues. Your network will need
to support it. For example, you cannot host a website if you only have dialup internet. Other factors
that are needed to be taken into consideration are:
Does it need to be secured? Both physically and virtually; internally and externally
Can the application be supported Are their people who know how to use the application?
What risks will it introduce? Viruses, Hackers, privacy?
Is there enough network capacity to

The Importance Of Drinking Bottled Water
Not only is the government responsible for regulating Americas tap water, its also responsible for
regulating packaged water. More specifically The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency oversees
the quality of water that comes out of your tap, while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is
responsible for ensuring the safety and truthful labeling of bottled watersold nationally. States are
responsible for regulating water that is both packaged and sold within its borders (Postman). But
it should surprise many for them to find many states are very lax when it comes to regulating
bottled water. Most surprisingly tap water is often times required to be cleaner than bottled water.
Tap water is tested more often for quality insurance although the contaminates allowed don t
reflect as such. For example, bottled water plants must test for coliform bacteria just once a week;
city tap needs to be tested 100 or more times a month. (Postman). Most test find bottled water to be
clean and pure, but some do underperform in cleanliness About 22 percent of the brands tested
contained chemicals at levels above state health limits (Postman). Although this it is legal for these
companies to have high levels of chemicals because its not city regulated, some companies are still
required to report the purity of their water to the state they reside in. Another surprising fact is that
some bottled water is just plainly tap water, ...if it says from a municipal source or from a

Sparta Go To War Essay
All rise for the beginning of council
Greetings Spartan representatives, Athenian representatives, allies and Oracle.
This meeting has been called to discuss murmurs that have risen referring back to the tragedies
of 430BC 402BC and the possibility of them happening once more; of course, I refer to the
Peloponnesian Wars. Today in council we will discuss the immediate causes of the wars and what
we, as a progressive and united nation, can do to prevent it from happening in the future. The
overview of this section of council will address the following: To what extent did exterior forces
motivate Sparta to go to War?
It is well known that both Sparta and Athens committed awful behaviours concerning the
Peloponnesian conflicts, and as a member ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A preliminary dispute between Corcyra and her colony of Epidamnos escalated to have Corinth
siding with Epidamnos and Athens on side of Corcyra. To add to this, a revolt of Potidaea, a
colony of Corinth but a part of the Athenian Empire, went to Sparta for military help as they
received no further aid from Athens, to which Sparta replied if Athens attacked Potidaea then they
would in turn invade Attica . Another Athenian ally had since then been excluded from the
Athenian marketplace and no ship were allowed to dock at any Athenian based harbour (Rickard,
2011). Due to a military stalemate consisting of the fact that Sparta was not at their best when
fighting on the seas and Athens could not fully articulate strategy on land, Pericles, the acting
general, convinced Athenian troops to retreat behind the city s long walls, figuring that Sparta
would eventually tire of receiving no forceful opposition (Martin, 2000). Martin supports all of
these statements, further stating that disagreements arose in the 430 s over how each of the city
states treat their allies, inevitably leading to a peace treaty collapse, alongside hoe the petty actions
of lesser powers pushed the larger nations, namely Sparta and Athens, to initiate violence. Both
authors mentioned beforehand provide a modern perspective on these conflicts and hence are not
as emotionally or physically involved, providing a lesser biased view. Now, we

A Country Churchyard And The Deserted Village By Oliver...
The poems Elegy Written in A Country Churchyard. by Thomas Gray, and The Deserted Village,
by Oliver Goldsmith, both lament the current state of society in rural areas. Each poem idealizes
rural life, but offers differing ideas of the people of the villages. Gray s poem talks about the
unrealized Miltons and Cromwells of the poor that were able to live their lives honestly,
innocently and the free of temptation faced by the wealthy. Goldsmith talks of the swain and the
tradesmen, and the politics that force to live in famine or leave their lands. In their poems, Gray

In the city, there is more opportunity for people to be educated, so talents are more easily
discovered and cultivated, just like gems and flowers in well explored territories. In the country,
the unexplored potential of the people leaves room for so much possibility. This goes against the
idea that the people of the more wealthy urban areas are naturally greater than the rural folks,
equalizing them through the life them never had. Gray continues on his evaluation of these
unrealized people by saying that they are actually blessed because Far from the madding crowd
s ignoble strife, / Their sober wishes never learned to stray (Gray 73 74). They are fortunate to be
simple country people, never knowing what they are missing out on and never having to face
the temptations that come with being wealthy and great. These innocents are free from greed
that the wealthy suffer from daily. They blessed to be more pious due to a lack of education
outside of the bible. Overall, their hard lives have been well lived, so they are better off than
those with wicked lives of the wealthy. Death is what gives the hope and value to the rural lives.
Whether a person is wealthy or poor, everyone dies eventually. The ornateness of the resting
place is not what matters, but rather where their soul is received after death. In Gray s Epitaph, the

The femoral neck or intracapsular fracture occurs when the neck of the femur breaks and sometimes
the ball may move out of it s place. This type of fracture happens more likely with athletes and
performers. Over years there have been several methods orthopedists have used to fix femoral neck
fractures. In 1931, Smith Petersen used internal fixation by reducing pain and pressure to the
fractured parts followed by immobilization in a spica cast application. Until 1970 another widely
spread method called the multiple pin fixation technique was introduced by another orthopedist. In
this method the fracture fragments would heal with the insertion of Pugh nails and Richards
screws. Both of these methods include a sliding fixation process where the fractured fragments rub
against each other. The second type of hip fracture which is repaired more frequently is
intertrochanteric hip fracture. The intertrochanteric hip fracture occurs slightly below the neck of
the femur and the lesser trochanter. These fractures undergo a treatment that involves the insertion
of AO proximal femoral or sliding plates, intramedullary nails, cannulated or dynamic hip screws,
and/or rods to balance and protect the fractures. After the surgery, surgeries suggest that the patients
stay in bed to make sure the fracture does not occur again. The third type of hip fracture is

The Fossil Of Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels are formed from decayed prehistoric plants and animals that lived millions of years
ago (Science Daily). According to the United States Department of Energy, when ancient living
plants and animals died, they decomposed and became buried under layers of mud, rock, and
sand. After millions of years, these plants and animals slowly decomposed into organic material.
Depending on what combination of plant and/or animal debris was decomposed, different types of
fossil fuels were formed. These fossil fuels are then converted into coal, oil, and natural gas(United
States Department of Energy). With this in mind, fossil fuels take millions of years to form and
once used they can never be used again, leaving them to be known as nonrenewable resources.
Each type of fossil fuel releases different substances into the air when being used. For example
coal is a hard rich like substance that is made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and varying
amounts of sulfur. Obviously, when burned these elements are released into the atmosphere
(California Energy Commission). Coal is available in almost every country in the world, with the
biggest reserves in the United States, Russia, China, and India.
For over centuries, fossil fuels have been used to fuel houses, cars, and work places, along with
many others establishments. Fossil fuels are a necessity in the average persons life. As stated by
Clarkson University, of all the energy consumed in the United States, 85.6% is

Analysis Of Nietzsche s On Truth And Lies In A Nonmoral Sense
In On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense , Nietzsche seeks to explain why and how humankind
has developed our own senses of truth and in the same vein, lies. He says that the process involves
taking a stimuli and creating an image metaphor for it, and then a sound metaphor to it, which
results in the creation of language. Then, the human brain categorizes the stimuli into certain
categories and into different concepts that represent the total of unequal individualized objects and
then rejects everything that the category is not as a lie. Nietzsche argues that the processes
aforementioned are impervious by nature and completely illogical. The result is that we have
created our own ideas that we call truthand we shun the lies despite the... Show more content on

Nietzsche calls the human race artistically creating subjects because we are able to take a
stimulus whether it be an image, smell, or sound and make a metaphorical image in our minds of
what the object is by assigning characteristics to it. Then, humans assign a metaphorical sound to
represent the stimulus, which eventually becomes the basis of language. Therefore, we have
created this metaphor to the perception of a stimulus that could change from person to person; it
is completely subjective. No child is born with this knowledge of their environment, but taught by
parents or guardians. For example, color is very subjective because if a child is raised to think that
the color red is actually called blue , he would only know it as blue. This metaphorical process,
along with the need to be social, eventually produced languages between humans and gave us a
sense of truthfulness and lies, which only entails that fact that humans are purposely using the
definition of something the wrong way in order to harm. In addition, Nietzsche also points out the
cases of differing foreign languages because nothing corresponds directly to the actual nature of a
stimulus. Nietzsche argues that it is illogical because humans made the idea of language, truth, and
lie and therefore, it doesn t exist in nature. The fact that we accept anyone that accurately describes
something and shun someone that tells a lie is completely subjective and frankly wrong, according

As We Saw Previously, We Can Divide The Touristic Industry
As we saw previously, we can divide the touristic industry into two major categories, the modern day
massive tourism and ecotourism. Both forms have a distinctive history, definition, economic
benefits and environmental impact. Although both are growing at lightning speed, especially as our
societies become wealthier and eager to explore the world around them, the biggest dilemma lies on
which, ecotourism or tourism, is a better alternative to pursue to balance economic development and
environmental protection. To find the answer, we need to analyze and compare the main premises
about the two topics.
In regards to history, the idea of being a tourist has been around for centuries. As we saw

In David Fennell s argument, we can t properly define tourism because we might leave a key
element economic activity out, especially if we understand that just in the category of attractions
we have museums, festivals, sports, cinemas, theme parks and others. The array of options in the
industry of tourism has made it one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. However,
its massive scope might not make tourism the best environmental alternative.
In the case of ecotourism s definition and scope, it is easier to understand its objective. In Martha
Honey s book, she introduced us to the seven characteristics of real ecotourism, which clearly limit
the definition to activities to natural destinations with an environmental educational purpose and
with the objective of benefiting financially local people and conservation areas. Based on that
definition, ecotourism is a better environmental alternative than regular tourism. However, its
limited scope and smaller scale programs place ecotourism at a disadvantage regarding financial
development.
In terms of economic benefits, the tourism industry has been growing at an unprecedented speed.
It ranks number third in exports category with 7% of the yearly totals. As an industry, it
represented 1.5 trillion dollars in 2015, with $1260 billion earned by the receipts in the same year.

LSD and the 60s Music Scene Essay
In the sixties, the psychedelic music scene was at its prime and the world was full of hippie
musicians that loved to drop acid and create some of the most interesting and innovative music
known to man. During this time, drugs were a very popular part of the hippie culture and the
prevalence of LSD helped to create the distinct genre of psychedelic musicknown as psychedelic or
acid rock. Many bands and artists such as Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Beatles, and The
Byrds were heavily influenced by LSD, which led to the creation of some very popular music.

The goal of LSD, along with other psychedelic drugs, was to open the mind and find a new light
to look upon things (Bacig). Many artists took this approach to their music and would drop acid
before composing music. This gave the music of this era a distinct sound and without LSD, the
world would not have psychedelic rock. During this time, many artists referenced LSD in their
songs because of the profound effect it had on them. In order to produce the psychedelic feel, the
artists would write esoteric lyrics, often describing dreams, visions, or hallucinations as well as
use other techniques such as distorting and delaying the sound, and playing sections of the song
backwards. Another important part of psychedelic rock is the influence of Indian music. Bands
such as The Beatles popularized this technique of using exotic instruments like the sitar, the
tambura, and the tabla in their music (Psychedelic Rock). The Beatles were a very well known
and popular band in the sixties. The use of LSD and other drugs heavily influenced two of their
albums, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Their first experience with the drug

space station hits a floating Taco Bell target placed in the South Pacific. In March 2001 Taco
Bell painted their logo in the middle of the 40x40 foot flotation device, surrounded by target
rings and Free Taco Here painted in big purple letters. If the Mir would have hit the target,
coupon distribution, redemption and offer details would have been made available to consumers
on the Taco Bell Web site. Taco Bell has purchased an insurance policy to cover the anticipated
cost of the free taco redemption if the core of Mir would have hit the target. Sadly the Mir landed

What Is UML To Java Executable Code Generator
UML to Java Executable Code Generator First A. Author, Second B. Author, Jr., and Third C.
Author, Member, IEEE Abstract Automatic Code generation from UML diagrams gains much
interest lately in software design, because it has many benefits as it reduces the effort to
generate code and moreover automated code is less error prone than writing code manually.
However, major challenges in this area include checking consistency of UML models, and
ensuring accuracy, maintainability, and efficiency of the generated code. In this paper we expand
our work on a tool called UJECTOR for automatic generation of executable java code from UML
diagrams. UML diagrams like class diagram, sequence diagram and activity diagram are passed as

UML activity diagrams are used to provide code completeness and user interactions. Activity
diagrams are referenced in sequence diagrams. 2.RELATED WORK 2.1. OCode The tool takes
state diagram represented in Design Schema List language (DSL) as an input. It consists of two
components known as interpreter and code generator. The interpreter generates a transition table
from the DSL while code generator generates Java code from the transition table. 2.2. JCode The
tool takes state chart represented in DSL as an input. It consists of three components known as
interpreter, transformer and code generator. The interpreter takes DSL as an input and generates
intermediate transition table. The transformer generates transformed transition table from the
intermediate transition table. The transformer focuses on resolving concepts like state hierarchy,
state composition, compound transition, etc in the intermediate transition table. The transformed
transition table is used as an input to the code generator to generate Java code. 2.3. Rhapsody
This tool generates C++ code from UML object and state chart diagrams. It also takes message
sequence charts (MSC) as an additional input. The tool takes STATEMATE representation of state
chart as an input and generates C++ code. 2.4. dCode This tool generates Java code from UML
object, activity and state chart diagrams. The tool follows the same code generation process as

Theme Of Integrity In To Kill A Mockingbird
Integrity is abundantly present in all societies today and changes each and every person,
regardless of if one maintains one s own. Harper Lee writes, in a realistic fiction novel written
from the point of view of a young girl living in the racially segregated South, of her father who
teaches her ways to change this segregation. This character develops and greatly influences those
around him to question the way the society is being run. A similar character is seen in The Power
of One, directed by Avildsen. A young boy, PK, grows up with integrity and changes the way
people see and understand discrimination and racism. Both these stories demonstrate that acting
with integrity is defined as maintaining one s beliefs in order to reintroduce ideas to society.
Those who demonstrate integrity are not impacted by social pressure and punishments; they uphold
their morals and affect others when doing so. Throughout To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus
consistently adheres to his beliefs and opinions and uses them to not only teach his children, but
also positively affect his community. After Jem and Scout were attacked on the way home, and
the sheriff questions who killed Bob Ewell, Atticus states, If this thing s hushed up it ll be a
simple denial to Jem of the way I ve tried to raise him (Lee 366). Atticus values honesty and
believes that no one should receive any special treatment. He questions whether Jem is guilty just
as much as he would anyone else, risking his and his family s

extraordinarystability against coagulation. Its non coagulating nature is due to very low value of
Hamaker constant, which defines the Van der Waal forces of attraction among the particles and the

ranging from ~ 50 nm to 1 mm. Reduction in TEOS concentration leads to the formation of
smallerparticles. Silica particles synthesized by this procedure are amorphous and porous.
Variation of NH4OH (catalyst) concentration changes the size, porosity as well as morphology of

Mad Cow Disease Case Study
Health is one of the most important areas in globalization. I think every aspect of this area
significant to consideration.
The opportunity of globalization, which gives possibility to people to cross boards around the
world is certainly positive side. Transport routes for the distribution of products and other goods
provide new sources of income for developing countries to improve their economic status and
health. It is also positive side. Likewise, it bears an adverse aspect, such as the spread of
epidemics and diseases. I do not believe that the reduction in tourism turnover will have positive
impact on the situation. Such measures will do more minuses than pluses. It will make close
boards and will not change the situation with spreading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Infectious Diseases among the animals lead to vastly decreasing quantity of livestock culture. The
outbreak of BSE and avian flu are vivid examples. Food borne Illnesses one of the most important
aspect of global healthcare.
The outbreak of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), or mad cow disease, led to a mass
slaughter of cattle in Britain and cost the British beef industry between $10 billion and $40 billion.
Other EU countries declined to import cattle from Britain over a period of almost two years as a
result of the BSE. (The damage was not limited to the economy either: criticism over the handling
of the crisis helped contribute to the fall of the government of then British Prime Minister John
Major.) (The Levin Institute, n.d.)
In my opinion cheap prices for imported goods is benefit for the citizens of developed country, but
it carries some negative impacts. I assume that low wages in the developing countries cause of not
providing the desired quality of product manufacturing and sanitation. The spread of the diseases
can occur in food hubs that are engaged in distribution of food in the wholesale and retail chains. It
is place where control of quality must be strong. The solution of this problem may become
international supervisory structure in the field of production and

Temple Under Siege A ole TMT, aloha aina. Today, Hawaiians are facing a huge impact on their

people chanting and protecting the aina up at Mauna Kea, they have to be the ones arrest their own

Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech
Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship. The synonymous term
freedom of expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act
of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In
practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly
subject to limitations, such as on hate speech .
The right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The ICCPR recognizes the right to freedom of
speech as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, freedom of the press is not necessarily enabling freedom of speech. Judith Lichtenberg
has outlined conditions in which freedom of the press may constrain freedom of speech, for
example where the media suppresses information or stifles the diversity of voices inherent in
freedom of speech. Lichtenberg argues that freedom of the press is simply a form of property right
summed up by the principle no money, no voice .
Origins and academic freedom
Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human
rights instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may
have emerged in the late 6th or early 5th century BC.[12] Two of the most cherished values of
the Roman Republic were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In Islamic ethics, freedom
of speech was first declared in the Rashidun period by the caliph Umar in the 7th century AD. In
the Abbasid Caliphate period, freedom of speech was also declared by al Hashimi (a cousin of
Caliph al Ma mun) in a letter to one of the religious opponents he was attempting to convert
through reason. According to George Makdisi and Hugh Goddard, the idea of academic freedom
in universities was modelled on Islamic custom as practiced in the medieval Madrasah system from
the 9th century. Islamic influence was certainly discernible in the foundation of the first
deliberately planned university in Europe, the University of Naples Federico II founded by

Essay The Life and Artistic Impact of Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in the early 1880s into a family with artistic roots. From this, he was able
to draw much inspiration and opportunities to study in a well reputed art schools, which were
located in Barcelona and Madrid. At the beginning, he did not have a definite direction in relation
to his style; hence, experimented on a lot of techniques and forms. He joined a number of other
young artists, authors and architects that took the direction of contemporary art in their work. The
formative years of his career ended in 1901 (Fandel, Picasso, 2006). He continued depicting issues
in the society but leaving out some aspects of it in his art. His art not only influenced other artists
and sculptors but also writers and composers. Among... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1899, Pablo dropped his scholarly studies and joined a group of young artists. The group
brought together a number of writers and artists well known as modernistes (Klein, 2010). Their
art assimilated modern trends in art like symbolism. It also evoked the mood and atmosphere
rather than the traditional literal description. With regard to poster design, graphic arts and
illustration, their art followed the art nouveau from French, which was characterized by
artificial colors, twisting contour lines and simplified shapes (Fandel, Picasso, 2006). By the
early 1900, Pablo and his colleagues art had moved further to place emphasis on social causes
and political anarchy. For instance, Pablo s work showed sympathy for the poor in urban areas
like Barcelona and Paris. The artist had traveled to Paris for a number of times in the 1900
before he finally decided to permanently settle four years later (Art in Action, n.d). Most of his
fellow young artists also moved to the same capital where their works were displayed in salons
and galleries. Pablo s personal style was a combination of several techniques and styles that he
had previously drawn influences from. For instance, it introduced bright and pure colors with one
of the major subjects being scenes of nightlife in Paris and an image of Manach Pere, one of the
greatest promoters of Pablo s work at

  • 2. First Amendment Rights Pros And Cons First Amendment Rights allow us to do simple things that keep this country in check. But recently, there have been court cases on people who are affected by laws that were wrote many years ago. Over the years, the government has changed, the people have changed, and even the country. Along with that, obviously laws have too. In order to keep up with developing technology, our laws might have to bend a little. To what extent in the U.S. does the government†federal, state, and local†have the duty to monitor internet content? This is a question that many U.S citizens don t know the answer to. Everyday, people around the country search up anything they want without censorship. If you were warned that the government can see everything you search, would you browse what you usually do ever again? The government sees what you do on the internet, but what if, that’s not all. They have the access to see your day to day life. They can track you, they can see your posts, and they can see what you have done through the course of your life. When is all this taking their privilege too far? They are on the verge of violating freedom of speech. Expressing in any way, your beliefs and perspective, just can’t be done anymore. Many ... Due to this case, others have been warned not to do illegal things because someone will be tracking it, and also it shows that you should not be the one tracking in this first place either. The moral of this situation is to make sure your actions are not considered illegal, because it is likely you will be caught in the crossfires of this controversial ... The Anthem For The Civil Rights Movement We Shall Overcome by Peter Seeger, many would describe to be the anthem for the Civil Rights Movement or 1960s Civil Rights Movement (sometimes referred to as the African American Civil Rights Movement although the term African American was not widely used in the 1950s and 1960s). It encompasses social movements in the United States whose goals were to end racial segregation and discrimination against African Americans and to secure legal recognition and federal protection of the citizenship rights enumerated in the Constitution and federal law. • 4. Essay Perceval Perceval In the story Perceval edited by Roger Sherman Loomis and Laura Hibbard Loomis, Perceval the main character has many adventures, in which he learns many lessons about life. The story starts out with Perceval, the son of a widow, out in the forest listening to the sweet season and all the warbling of the birds. In the distance he discovers knights riding towards him. At first he thought that they were devils, which his mother had warned him to stay away from. Then he saw all their bright and shiny armor and he thought it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, so according to his mother, angels were more beautiful than everything else in the world. ... Before he left his mother gave him clothes and some words of advise about ladies and lords. She also told him of church and told him to always go and worship the Lord. Perceval agreed. On the morning that he left his mother chased after him and fell down at the end of the bridge, but he didn t turn around he just kept going. Perceval rode the whole day and slept in the forest that night. The next morning he woke up and began to ride until he came across and tent with splendid colors, which caught his attention. Inside the tent he found a maiden who was unattended at that time. He remembered what his mother had told about ladies, to always receive a kiss and a ring. Perceval misunderstood this to mean that he was supposed to take it whether or not the maiden wanted to give it to him or not. This particular maiden was very upset after he forced himself onto her and took her ring. When her lover returned Perceval was gone, and the maiden was sitting alone crying. She told him the story of Perceval and he was very upset. Her lover told her that she had disgraced him and until he had killed Perceval her horse would have nothing to eat and she would not have any more luxuries. Meanwhile, Perceval rode on down the road to King Arthur s castle. Outside there was a knight bearing red arms who had took King Arthur s golden cup. Perceval ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Debs Arguments Against The Constitution Of The United States During the height of WW1, tensions were rising between Americans. Some believed you must support your country and all that it does to no avail and no protest, while some believed they should have been able to express their basic civil rights. This side was largely led by famous socialist, Eugene Debs who believed the people had been blindly following rule from the higher ups deserved the chance to voice their own opinion. Debs believed that the fundamental rights of the 1st Amendment should not be put in jeopardy no matter the situation. On the other hand, Woodrow Wilson, 28th president believed that the only way to unify the country and have success in the war would be to prohibit official protest against the Government and military. The Government under no extenuating circumstances possible should be allowed to take away the right to free speech.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The country was built upon the Constitution, and the morals that were continuously upheld by generations (at times poorly) that all men are equal and are to be treated as such. All through time, the US was born by people speaking out against flaws in the land they inhibited, the 13 Colonies may have still been in place if speaking out were forbidden and discouraged. Despite this, the act was still passed, a law that gave far too much power to the central government and gave them the potential to attack anyone who may disagree with them. • 6. Analysis Of 320 By Emily Dickinson 320 Emily Dickinson wrote 320 in a form in a form that is not traditional. It is written in a closed sense given it is written quatrains that frequently rhyme, but it does not fall into a traditional pattern. Dickinson generally follows the pattern of writing the first and third lines of each stanza in iambic tetrameter and the second and fourth lines in iambic trimeter. Other times, she uses Trochees in random times making the form sound choppy. For example, in the first stanza she uses the trochee certain and winter . Both of these create a rough sentence. The poem goes into pause at many times throughout the poem, thus bringing out the dissatisfaction and difficult time the poem is describing. There is no way to tell who is speaking in this poem. Dickinson generally wrote as if the narrator was somebody parallel or close to herself; however, in 320 there are no signs of if it is Dickinson or one of her other popular characters. The narrator seems to be speaking as if they are part of a group, as the only pronouns mentioned are us and we . This us could be up for interpretation; it could be a small group experiencing death or even the entire human population as a whole and their view of God. Dickinson uses strong imagery in the first stanza. The reader imagines the booming sounds of large cathedral organs and the way the bass of them shakes your soul. She adds a negative connotation to these shakes by stating it oppresses the narrator. Following, Dickinson uses the metaphor of a slant of light on a winter afternoon to the opening her internal pain. As the slant of light opens, it is essentially opening up a seal of despair. Nothing external has affected the body; however, the heartbreak from the pain the narrator is dealing with leaves behind marks on her soul. She follows this theme through the entire poem that the slant of light has brought pain upon her. Dickinson starts with a relatively positive tone. When stating There s a certain Slant of light / Winter Afternoons the reader has the visual of a small light shining through on a white surface. This tone quickly changes when it is followed by That oppresses, like the Heft / Of Cathedral Tunes giving off the interpretation of a light that hits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Men with a history of undescended testes have about ten times the chance of testicular cancer; the risk may be lower if surgery is used to fix the problem which usually happens before one year of age. (Blecher, 2014). Another risk factor, is previous testicular cancer. This affects about 1 in 25 men who have had testicular cancer in one testis develop cancer in the other testis . (Blecher, 2014). Previous male infertility is also another risk factor in testicular cancer. It is shown that Men diagnosed with fertility problems, particularly those with a history of undescended testes, may have a greater chance of developing testicular cancer . (Blecher, 2014). This is due to pre cancers cell sometimes found in testicular biopsies from infertile men (Blecher, 2014), however this does not conclude that all pre cancer cells will develop into cancer. Furthermore, family history is also considered as a risk factor. • 8. Claude Manet – Impressionism – 19Th . Oscar-Claude Monet Claude Manet Impressionism 19th Oscar Claude Monet was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and productive expert of the movement s philosophy of communicating one s observations before nature particularly applied to plein air landscape painting. The expression Impressionism is from the title of his piece Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was shown in 1874 in the first of the independent presentations mounted by Monet and his partners as an alternate choice to the Salon de Paris. Monet s aspiration of painting the French countryside drove him to embrace a technique for painting the same scene repeatedly, trying to catch the changing of light and the death of the seasons. From ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 35. Monet painted the subject twice, and it is unknown which of the two pictures was the artwork that showed up in the pivotal 1874 presentation, however more as of late, the Moscow picture has been favoured. Monet has been portrayed as the main thrust behind Impressionism . Essential to the art of the Impressionist painters was the comprehension of the effects of light on the local colour of objects, and the impacts of the contrast of hues with each other. Monet s long profession as a painter was spent in the quest for this aim. In 1856, his shot meeting with Eugene Boudin, a painter of little beaches, opened his eyes to the idea of plein air painting. From that time, with a short intrusion for military administration, he committed himself to hunting down better than ever strategies for painterly expression. In 1877 a progression of works of art at St Lazare Station had Monet taking a gander at smoke and steam and the way that they influenced shading and perceivability, being here and there misty and some of the time translucent. He was to further utilize this in study in the painting of the effects of mist and rain on the landscape. The investigation of the impacts of climate was to develop into various arrangements of works of art in which Monet often painted a similar subject in various lights, at various hours of the day, and through the ... • 9. Analysis Of The Campaign Game Pg. 263 277 The Campaign Game As a fun fact, the term campaign has its origins from the military as this was the name given for when the general had a strategy towards accomplishing a big goal. o The whole point of a campaign in politics is that the primary nominee must create their own image of exemplary leadership and confidence so they gain more supporters as Election Day grows closer and closer. o Technology also has started to play a major role within the political system of the United States as a whole. Back in the good old days, the way campaigns would work is that the primary nominees would get their own train and travel the nation to speak and visit as many people as they possibly could afford. o In today s world, the live television broadcasts of the nominee s campaign is the primary way messages are spread to majority of the nation. o This has a bad side to it though because this gives the media too much power and the media then begins to influence who to vote for rather than the candidates themselves. o In addition to this, the creation the World Wide Web further increased the amount of dependency campaigns have upon technology. o In fact, one of the very first things primary nominees take the time to do is create a website so that the population are able to see their stance on all the primary issues occurring. The use of technology has also had a great impact upon the funding for these type of campaigns. o Back when Obama was running, majority of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Health Issues Of The United States The United States has encountered numerous problems throughout its history. An ongoing problem that has affected millions of Americans is poor health. Poor health can be defined as two things: unstable mental state or unstable physical state. The United States of America has experienced both of these characteristics with its citizens. Americans have been hit hard with these healthissues for decades. America is one of the unhealthiest countries in the world and many people do not understand why. There is a strong correlation between mental health and physical health. One health issue can lead to another, which in turn, makes people feel as if they are trapped in a horrific cycle of living in poor conditions. This causes people to feel insecure about themselves emotionally and physically, creating disgust in themselves. One of the most challenging objectives for individuals is engaging in physical activity. This is the reason why health is an issue in America. Individuals who lack physical health can eventually lead to depression and other psychological issues and vice versa. A common condition that indicates if someone is unhealthy is obesity. Obesity is the state of being highly overweight. More than half of the adults in the United States struggle with obesity every day of their lives. • 11. The First Domino Of Fall History is often a series of processes. Very rarely do important changes happen out of the blue. These changes are brought about by little progressions, so the question becomes what is the first domino to fall. In some respects, the religions of the American colonists seem like a small thing, yet without religion it is unlikely that the New England Colonies would have developed into the nation we have today. Religious beliefs play huge role in shaping the paradigms of individuals and ultimately individuals shape nations. As we go through colonial history we can begin to see a pattern where communities will divide and unite then divide again, all on the basis of their evolving religious ideals. At the time of the colonization of America, Protestant religions were on the rise. It all started when King Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic church so that he could divorce his wife, Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn. To replace the Catholic authority, the Anglican church was formed, still essentially Catholic in overall theology and practices, but with the king himself as the authority of the church in place of the pope. King Henry VIII ordered that all of the churches should then be equipped with an English translation of the Bible. Prior to that most copies of the Bible were only written in Latin, and therefore not accessible to the general public. As a result of this change more people outside of the clergy began to have access to the Bible. During this time the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Conformity And Obedience To Authority In Cool Hand Luke Social influence plays a big part in how a person acts in a situation. A person s behaviour that has been influenced can be shown in 2 ways: Conformity, which is when a person changes their attitudes and behaviours to fit in, and obedience to authority, which is when a person obeys orders from someone who has a higher status than them. This essay will look at and analyze examples of conformity, non conformity, and obedience to authority in the movie Cool Hand Luke. One example would be right at the beginning of the movie when new prisoners enter the farm. When bringing up one of the prisoner s reason for why he is here, He tries to explain in an informal but polite way that it was an accident. Boss Paul then goes up to the prisoner, hits him, and says that he has to address the person speaking to him right now as Captain, and the others as Boss. For the rest of the time with the Captain and the Bosses, the other prisoners continue to address them as Captain and Boss. The other prisoners see that if they don t address the authorities as Captain or Boss, negative consequences will follow. To avoid these negative consequences, the acknowledge Captain and the Bosses as authority and obey their demands. Another example of obedience to authority involves the ditch outside of the prisoners resting house. After running away for a second time, the Bosses start to treat Luke like a slave. After all the other prisoners finished work, Boss Paul calls Luke over, points to a ditch and asks why Luke s dirt is in Boss Keen s ditch, to which Luke replies with I don t know Boss . Boss Paul then tells Luke to get the dirt out, so Luke proceeds to shovel the dirt out of the ditch. Boss Shorty comes along after Luke is halfway through getting the dirt out and asks Luke why there is dirt on his yard. Luke tells him he doesn t know and Boss Shorty tells him to put the dirt back in, and so Luke puts the dirt back in the ditch. Boss Paul comes back and asks him why is there still dirt in the ditch, to which Luke replies again with I don t know boss . • 15. Solving the Foreclosure Crisis Essay The Foreclosure Crisis is the direct effect of the mortgage crisis that became apparent in 2007, so in order to solve the current crisis we must tackle the cause, not just the symptoms. The issue at the heart of the mortgage crisis is that in most cases the cost of the mortgage has risen above the market value of the home, trapping the homeowner. To solve the crisis both in the short term and to prevent similar crises in the long term, steps must be taken to achieve two broad goals: make mortgages affordable by regulating mortgages and mortgageproviders and lowering interest rates, and stabilize the market value of homes by increasing demand and decreasing supply. In the past, governmental regulations on banks and mortgage lenders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These actions will protect debtors from unjust rates and will ultimately protect creditors from defaults on their loans. The next essential regulatory act is to limit the size of mortgages. A regulation should be put in place that prohibits the granting of a mortgage that is over 100% of the market value of house. In the past, when house prices were rising it seemed safe to take out a mortgage higher than the value of a house, but that is a root cause of all mortgage crises. The economy naturally grows and shrinks and so does the market value of a house. When mortgages represent more than the market value of the collateral and the value of the house drops, homeowners cannot sell their house for the equivalent of the principal and if the homeowner cannot make payments, foreclosure or bankruptcy are the only options. This clearly limits the lenders, but it is a necessary regulation to protect lenders from losing money. In the case of a foreclosure in which the mortgage is worth more than the collateral, the lender suffers the difference and risks its own bankruptcy. While this regulation may seem to hurt lenders, truly it protects them. Debtors who are close to foreclosure should have further rights protected by law. In the case where a debtor cannot make their monthly payments due to financial situations beyond their control, they should have the right to renegotiate for lower payments through ... It would be hard to imagine a nation that relies on investment and international trade with the current economic leader by over taking it. According to the United States Department of Energy, when ancient living plants and animals died, they decomposed and became buried under layers of mud, rock, and sand. After millions of years, these plants and animals slowly decomposed into organic material. Depending on what combination of plant and/or animal debris was decomposed, different types of fossil fuels were formed. These fossil fuels are then converted into coal, oil, and natural gas(United States Department of Energy). With this in mind, fossil fuels take millions of years to form and once used they can never be used again, leaving them to be known as nonrenewable resources. Each type of fossil fuel releases different substances into the air when being used. Then, the human brain categorizes the stimuli into certain categories and into different concepts that represent the total of unequal individualized objects and then rejects everything that the category is not as a lie. Nietzsche calls the human race artistically creating subjects because we are able to take a stimulus whether it be an image, smell, or sound and make a metaphorical image in our minds of what the object is by assigning characteristics to it. Then, humans assign a metaphorical sound to represent the stimulus, which eventually becomes the basis of language. Therefore, we have created this metaphor to the perception of a stimulus that could change from person to person; it is completely subjective. No child is born with this knowledge of their environment, but taught by parents or guardians. For example, color is very subjective because if a child is raised to think that the color red is actually called blue , he would only know it as blue. This metaphorical process, along with the need to be social, eventually produced languages between humans and gave us a sense of truthfulness and lies, which only entails that fact that humans are purposely using the definition of something the wrong way in order to harm. In addition, Nietzsche also points out the cases of differing foreign languages because nothing corresponds directly to the actual nature of a stimulus. LSD and the 60s Music Scene Essay In the sixties, the psychedelic music scene was at its prime and the world was full of hippie musicians that loved to drop acid and create some of the most interesting and innovative music known to man. During this time, drugs were a very popular part of the hippie culture and the prevalence of LSD helped to create the distinct genre of psychedelic musicknown as psychedelic or acid rock. Many bands and artists such as Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Beatles, and The Byrds were heavily influenced by LSD, which led to the creation of some very popular music. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The goal of LSD, along with other psychedelic drugs, was to open the mind and find a new light to look upon things (Bacig). Many artists took this approach to their music and would drop acid before composing music. This gave the music of this era a distinct sound and without LSD, the world would not have psychedelic rock. During this time, many artists referenced LSD in their songs because of the profound effect it had on them. In order to produce the psychedelic feel, the artists would write esoteric lyrics, often describing dreams, visions, or hallucinations as well as use other techniques such as distorting and delaying the sound, and playing sections of the song backwards. Another important part of psychedelic rock is the influence of Indian music. Bands such as The Beatles popularized this technique of using exotic instruments like the sitar, the tambura, and the tabla in their music (Psychedelic Rock). The Beatles were a very well known and popular band in the sixties. The use of LSD and other drugs heavily influenced two of their albums, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Their first experience with the drug within the band was when John Lennon and George Harrison accidentally took acid in 1965. • 42. Theme Of Integrity In To Kill A Mockingbird Integrity is abundantly present in all societies today and changes each and every person, regardless of if one maintains one s own. Harper Lee writes, in a realistic fiction novel written from the point of view of a young girl living in the racially segregated South, of her father who teaches her ways to change this segregation. This character develops and greatly influences those around him to question the way the society is being run. A similar character is seen in The Power of One, directed by Avildsen. A young boy, PK, grows up with integrity and changes the way people see and understand discrimination and racism. Both these stories demonstrate that acting with integrity is defined as maintaining one s beliefs in order to reintroduce ideas to society. Those who demonstrate integrity are not impacted by social pressure and punishments; they uphold their morals and affect others when doing so. Throughout To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus consistently adheres to his beliefs and opinions and uses them to not only teach his children, but also positively affect his community. After Jem and Scout were attacked on the way home, and the sheriff questions who killed Bob Ewell, Atticus states, If this thing s hushed up it ll be a simple denial to Jem of the way I ve tried to raise him (Lee 366).
