XFP and SFP are both transceiver standards for fiber optic networking. XFP was defined in 2002 for 10 Gigabit connections and uses an LC connector. It is hot-swappable and supports applications like 10 Gigabit Ethernet and OC-192 SONET. SFP was developed for smaller form factor pluggable transceivers up to 5 Gbps for easy upgrading of networks. It supports standards like Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and SONET. Due to its smaller size, SFP replaced the GBIC transceiver standard.

The E-commerce environment allows companies such as Amazon, EBay, PayPal, financial institutions, and other e-commerce companies alike to allocate services to the consumer over the Internet resulting in the luxury of consumers not visiting a physical store. However, with that luxury also welcomes the risk of threats such as hackers and their various attacks on e-commerce sites and its consumers. To mitigate such risks, adequate security tools are implemented by companies to protect consumers from being victims of identity theft. However, some of the security tools implemented can have limitations in regards to protecting the required assets. In addition, companies offering e-commerce services should invest in additional security controls to implement into their network infrastructure to ensure a safe online environment for their consumers.

Born in the 1970s, Ethernet technology has continually evolved in order to meet the never-ending requirement for faster rates of data transmission. Through this ongoing evolution, it has matured into the foremost technology standard for local area networks (LANs) as newer, higher performing iterations, such as 1 Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. There is a variety of types of cables available for making Ethernet connections at speeds of 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit per second. This paper provides a brief introduction to these two types of high speed Ethernet cabling solution, 1 Gigabit Ethernet cabling and 10 Gigabit Ethernet cabling.
An alternative to the core/aggregation/access layer network topology has emerged known as leaf-spine. In a leaf-spine architecture, a series of leaf switches form the access layer. These switches are fully meshed to a series of spine switches. One way is to create a Spine and Leaf architecture, also known as a Distributed Core. This architecture has two main components: Spine switches and Leaf switches. Intuition Systems can think of spine switches as the core, but instead of being a large, chassis-based switching platform, the spine is composed of many high-throughput Layer 3 switches with high port density. The mesh ensures that access-layer switches are no more than one hop away from one another, minimizing latency and the likelihood of bottlenecks between access-layer switches. When networking vendors speak of an Ethernet fabric, this is generally the sort of topology they have in mind.
Haven’t we spent the last few decades disaggregating datacenter architecture? And if so, what does disaggregation mean now, is it something different? Strictly speaking, to “disaggregate” means to divide

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. What is XFP…?
The XFP (10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable)
is a standard for transceivers for high-
speed computer network and telecommunication
links that use optical fiber.
It was defined by an industry group in 2002, along
with its interface to other electrical components
which is called XFI.
A transceiver is a device comprising both a
transmitter and a receiver which are combined
and share common circuitry or a single housing.
3. XFP Detail
1. XFP modules are hot-swappable and protocol-
independent.
2. They typically operate at optical wavelengths (colors) of
850 nm, 1310 nm or 1550 nm.
3. Principal applications include 10 Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gbit
/s Fibre Channel, Synchronous optical networking
(SONET) at OC-192 rates, Synchronous optical
networking STM-64, 10 Gbit /s Optical Transport Network
(OTN) OTU-2, and parallel optics links.
4. They can operate over a single wavelength or use dense
wavelength-division multiplexing techniques.
5. They include digital diagnostics that provide management
that were added to the SFF-8472 standard.
6. XFP modules use an LC fiber connector type to achieve
high density.
4. What is SFP…?
The small form-factor pluggable (SFP) is a
compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used for both
telecommunication and data communications
applications.
It interfaces a network device mother board (for
a switch, router, media converter or similar
device) to a fiber optic or copper networking
cable. It is a popular industry format jointly
developed and supported by many network
component vendors.
5. SFP Detail
1. SFP transceivers are expected to perform at data
speeds of up to five gigabits per second (5
Gbps), and possibly higher.
2. Because SFP modules can be easily
interchanged, electro-optical or fiber optic
networks can be upgraded and maintained more
conveniently than has been the case with
traditional soldered-in modules.
3. Rather than replacing an entire circuit board
containing several soldered-in modules, a single
module can be removed and replaced for repair
or upgrading. This can result in a substantial cost
savings, both in maintenance and in upgrading
efforts.
6. Count…
SFP transceivers are designed to support
SONET, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre
Channel, and other communications
standards.
Due to its smaller size, SFP obsoletes the
formerly ubiquitous gigabit interface
converter (GBIC); the SFP is sometimes
referred to as a Mini-GBIC although no device
with this name has ever been defined in the
MSAs.
