Since the product of Securus is a phone service for prison inmates, everything is done electronically, so there is very little paperwork. In my opinion, the
operations of Securus creates pollution and harmful waste. How our work is done, all we would need is a laptop, phone, fax machine and an Internet
connection. The platform that we work on can be accessed wherever their is an Internet connection. My job, with Securus, can be virtually done at home.
Instead of working at home, they want their drivers to drive place to place to complete work, which is a waste in energy and resources. Securus is a leader in
communications within the corrections industry and their is always other companies that would like to have the contract that Securus Technologies has with
the Department of Corrections. Securus needs to maintain their profitability by always being innovative in the technology used and constantly improve the

The Legendary Musician, Ray Charles Robinson Essay
The Legendary Musician, Ray Charles Robinson
Ray Charles Robinson was born on September 23, 1930 in Albany Georgia. His father was Bailey Robinson, a railroad repair man, and his mother was
Retha. His father never married his mother. His legal wife was Mary Jane, who also helped to raise Charles.
By the time he was three, young Charles was learning to play the piano.
When he was five his brother, who was three at the time, drowned. A few months later Charles got the disease that would make him go blind by the time he
was seven.
After he became totally blind at the age of seven, Charles went to a school for the blind in St. Augustine, Florida, where he learned to play the trumpet, the
saxophone, the clarinet, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a numerous amount of months, a record producer noticed him and
Charles had his first album: Confession Blues. Afterward Charles went on the road for a few years. He played at bars around the country. It was known by
musicians as the chitlin circuit.
Soon Charles stopped imitating other musicians, as he had been doing up until this point, and began to combine gospel and rhythm and blues, and, in doing so,
created soul. He is still called the Genius of Soul today. In
1955 Charles made recorded I ve Got a Women , and made history. It helped pave the way for soul for years to come.
In the 1960 s Charles recorded I Can t Stop Loving You (a piece of country music) with a large orchestra and his own voice. This song, like his others, was
loved by the American people.
Unfortunately, in the 1940 s Charles became addicted to heroin, and in
1964 he was arrested for it. While he was awaiting his trial he went to an award ceremony in which his son, Ray Jr. was receiving an award. He had to leave
before his son received his award, so Ray Jr. cried. Charles, seeing this, realized that his son would be very hurt if someone yelled out that
Charles was a drug addict, so he went to the hospital and went cold turkey on drugs. After a year, he was over the addiction.
Charles is a man of extremes. He was impatient, and he would not listen to complaints. When he was happy, he

Explain Why Can T Jesus Be A Good Man If He Is Not Divine
1. Why can t Jesus be a good man if He is not divine?
If Jesus is not divine, then He is not considered immortal, He is considered to be human and worldly. Therefore, since He is considered to be human and
worldly, then He can t live a perfect human life or be considered a good man since He is human and not divine.
2. Why is the statement There are no absolutes self defeating?
This statement is self defeating because if there are no true right or wrongs, or black or whites, then that is a no absolutes mentality. Therefore, you can t come
to any absolute answers because everything is gray and in between.
3. In your own words, describe Jesus claim to divinity.
Jesus often claimed to divinity by saying that He and God are one, and that if you have seen Him, then you have seen the Father. He says that He is the way to
everlasting life and that whoever believes in Him will never die. By saying all of these things, Jesus is portraying how since God is divine and He and God are
one, then Jesus is therefore also divine.

Kennedy wants to avoid Lewis Christian and spiritual logic, because he is a humanist. Lewis is portraying logic to Kennedy about how Jesus is God, and
Kennedy wants proof beyond faith to that. So he wants real proof, and not logic through faith.

Should Capital Punishment Be Re-Instated
During my assessment I will be exploring some reasons why I do or do not think Capital Punishment should be re instated. The definition of Capital
Punishment is the death penalty, one can receive this by committing a Capital Offence. A Capital Offence is a horrific crime as implied by Capital because a
capital could link to the Leader of that country because Capital is usually used to refer to a place of importance. Some examples of Capital Offences are:
Killing, Espionage, Treason, Homicide and Gang Members.
One reason I believe that Capital Punishment should be bought back is the Biblical quote an eye for an eye . This emphasises the belief that if you kill
someone your life should be taken away. This quote is implying justice and it resembles

The Core Beliefs Of The Anglo-Saxons In Beowulf
The core beliefs and the things the anglo saxons saw as important are clear throughout the story of beowulf. The anglo saxons believed in strong loyalty to
each other and to the leader. The anglo saxons also had a pagan background and saw warriors as high members of society. All these beliefs and core values are
exhibited in beowulf.
Beowulf has a strong anglo saxon values sprinkled through it including a strong sense of loyalty. This sense of loyalty shows up time and time again within
beowulf. One of the most notable times loyalty is brought up in beowulf is in The Last Battle. Wiglaf is the character used to show loyalty. Beowulf is in a
battle and his soldiers leave out of fear, Wiglaf decides that the most loyal and honorable thing to do is go help his king fight. Even though his chances of
survival are low, Wiglaf goes back to help his king. This sense of loyalty that would mean loyalty even until death shows how strongly the anglo saxons valued
loyalty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most prominent example of of the pagan background is Grendel. While the people of this story show connections with christian beliefs, Grendel connects
more with the pagan background of the anglo saxons. Grendel is the opponent of the people and he is evil, this is a very similar connection to the christian
versus pagan conflict in the anglo saxon culture. The christians or good guys try to fight off the pagans, the bad guys, because their belief systems don t line

Upon analyzing the mutant Drosophila melanogaster and comparing it to its wild type counterpart, it was determined that the allele of the mutant gene
phenotypically alters eye color. There are no other physical differences concerning bristles, wing shape, body color, wing venation, nor eye shape. Wild type
male and female D. melanogaster have vibrant orange eyes with the addition of a black, pseudo pupil in the center (Figure 1. C and D). Their eye color appears
to darken with age. Male and female wild type eye color does not vary significantly. Mutant male and female D. melanogaster have a significantly darker eye
color than the wild type flies. The color resembles a reddish shade that resembles wine or oxidized blood (Figure 1. A and B). ... Show more content on

The first possible gene is ras1 or raspberry gene. This gene is located on the X chromosome and at 9E1 9E2 on the cytogenetic map. The location on the
recombination map is unknown. The ras1 gene is a possible choice due to the dark red and orange color combination that it expresses. (Nash et al. 1994)
Another gene is the Pur1 or the purplish ruby gene. This gene is located at 3 39.5 on the recombination map. The Pur1 gene could be responsible for the
mutant s eye coloration due to the red and brown pigments that are present. (Aparisi and Najera 1990) The pr1 or purple gene is another possible explanation
for the mutant s eye color. This gene is located at 38B3 38B3 on the cytogenetic map. It s location on the recombination map is 2 54.5. The purple gene has a
high probability of being responsible for the mutant s eye color due to the light reddish color combined with a touch of orange and the similar texture that it
possesses. (Kim et al. 1996) Another possible gene is ry1 or rosy. This gene is located on the 3R chromosome. Its location on the recombination map is 3 52.0.
The rosy gene can be located at 87D9 87D9 on the cytogenetic map. Rosy gene is another possibility because it possess a red shade with more orange and
brown pigments that could compensate for the lighting when viewing the mutant specimen through the stereoscope. (Zhou and Riddiford

Implications Of Consumer Location Based Services Apps
Implications of consumer location based services apps
Introduction
Location based services (LBS) have been on the rise since public access to positioning technologies. These services are increasingly being used on mobile
devices. Between 2010 and 2013 mobile internet usage increased 359%, whereas desktop internet usage only increased by 4% (Ju Young, Johnson, Mee Mun,
2015). LBS create an augmented reality by adding and integrating information to real world experiences (Pedrana, 2014). LBS apps, such as Grindr, Yelp and
Foursquare, use the geographic location of their users to provide or augment an activity. Although these consumer and social marketing based apps have
benefits such as increased sense of community, access to information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The app is not only a way for gay men to have a dating experience, but it also puts members of this community in contact with each other as a place to find
help or support. If someone cannot find their place in a gay community in their area, they can turn to Grindr as a way to locate individuals. This app brings
together overlapping communities, putting people with similar sexualities and locations in contact (Shotwell, 2011). In this regard, it is beneficial to provide
specific demographics with LBS apps as a way to create a new space for the community to connect. Although there are benefits to the location based nature of
Grindr, we must remain critical of the privacy issues and social implications of the app. Grindr s privacy policy states that third parties, such as advertisers and
partners, may access user information and that Grindr expressly disclaim[s] responsibility for information collected through them (Grindr, 2015). User
information that can be accessed by Grindr and third parties includes names, photos, height, weight, email address and so on. Some may not be bothered by
this, but there are serious implications to consider. Legal and social rights need to be considered regarding the collection of personal information, as it can be
used and exploited in many ways (Wilken, 2014). Commercial exploitation can occur by selling personal data, and using to reduce transparency and influence
consumers.

servant leadership. According to his website, Keith focuses on aiding to others and has a mission to help people find personal meaning in the world. In one of

order to establish a better world.
In The Case for Servant Leadership, author Dr. Kent M. Keith proposes that servant leadership is the most beneficial wholesome for a leadership model. Keith
presents that the power leadership model does more harm than good, lacks problem solving, fails to grasp opportunities, and does not have the intention to
create a better world unlike the service leadership model.
Keith emphasizes that the servant leadership model derives from the desire to serve and is a natural, moral ambition. A servant leader in ... Show more content

Greenleaf firmly states that a servant leader has the desire and passion to serve through acceptance, empathy, foresight, awareness, persuasion,
conceptualization, and self healing all for the purpose of rebuilding a community. These leaders qualities and characteristics all have the purpose to serving
others. However, Keith compares and contrasts the power model of leadership and the service model of leadership.
First, Greenleaf states that the servant first lives the service model of leadership whereas the leader first lives the power model of leadership, which has several
problems. Keith realizes that in the power model, leadership is focused on accumulating and wielding power in order to make people act only in a way that
pertains to the leader themselves. The service model focuses on aiding to others, and acting in a way that is healthy and beneficial to the common

Satire In Saturday Night Live
In chapter 7 of Andrew Stott s, Comedy 2nd Edition, Stott mentions the term satire . A satire is a parodic tone that should not be confused with a
straightforward correspondence with an author s views , (Stott 156). A satire is often compared to the sarcasm that shows itself in a situation that occurs.
Saturday Night Live (SNL) could be an example of expressing the initial meaning of a satire. A specific example of an occurrence of satire comedy in SNL is
the three presidential debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. In the 3 productions you see actors, Alec Baldwin (playing Donald Trump) and Kate

Underground Railroad Thesis
Underground Railroad The Underground Railroad was not only a passage to freedom but also to equality. As a slowly established organization in the early
1800s, it impacted the lives of many people especially slaves (History.net). Many slaves found freedom through the secret passages of the Underground
Railroad with the raging fear of being caught. The Underground Railroad is a secret passage to the North slowing leading slaves to freedom. This passage to
freedom was an opportunity that shall not be missed. As a matter of fact it was one of the best historical events that occurred during the Civil War times. The
commencement of the Underground Railroad was very secretive yet successful. This organization was neither a railroad or underground. It was a number of
houses, barns, and hidden rooms where slaves could hide. This whole project was based off of a strong belief of slavery being bad and injustice. After everyone
thinking that this railroad underground was real, people made code names. A conductor would be code for people who helped transport the slaves. Harriet

Linguistic relativity and linguistic determinism are strong version and weak version of Sapir Whorf hypothesis respectively. According to XX (), linguistic
relativity is defined as the variation of cognitive processes among languages due to cultural differences. The individuals see, experience and interpret the world
based on the structure of the language they habitually use. Such linguistic categories and usage influence thought and certain kinds of non linguistic behavior,
carve up and name the world differently. Linguistic relativism acknowledges that conceptual paradigms of thought can be changed, extended, broadened and
reshaped with respect to the experience the individual has or the exertion the individual makes.
On the other hand, linguistic determinism is the idea that language and its structures limit and determine human though patterns and knowledge, as well as
thought processes such as categorization, memory, and perception, assuming that language both reflects and limits human mentality and its ability to make

The Old Testament And New Testament
The names Old Testament and New Testament are inherently theological in nature. Because there is a difference distinctly built into giving them different
notations, it implies that there are differences between each the Old Testament and the New Testament, whether it is subtle in nature or obvious in nature. To
Christians, the difference means that the Old Testament contains dealings between God and the world and even some of the rules made are made irrelevant by
the interactions of Christ Jesus with the world. One of the differences between the New Testament and the Old Testament is the way each of the Testaments
describe God and God s nature. The Old Testament describes an angry God, one who only created the world and was obsessed with laws and rules. The New
Testament describes a loving God who redeemed the world. The different ways the Old Testament and New Testament describe God and his nature are very
much influenced by their perspective of God. By the rules, actions, and laws God made, the early writers of the Old Testament made their judgements about
God and wrote those perspectives into the books of the Old Testament. The writers of the Old Testament did the best they could with the information they had
and got some things about God right, but also got things wrong. The writers of the New Testament and therefore, Christian believers understand God better.
The New Testament and the Old Testament are similar in that they both speak of fulfillment for God s

Software Piracy Essay
Software Piracy:
A Worldwide Problem Software piracy is defined as the illegal copying of software for commercial or personal gain. Software companies have tried many
methods to prevent piracy, with varying degrees of success. Several agencies like the Software Publishers Association and the Business Software Alliance have
been formed to combat both worldwide and domestic piracy. Software piracy is an unresolved, worldwide problem, costing millions of dollars in lost revenue.
Software companies have used many different copy protection schemes. The most annoying form of copy protection is the use of a key disk. This type of copy

A rather unique strategy used by American software manufactures helps raise local interest in stopping software piracy. Companies invest money to begin
software corporations in foreign countries. After a few years, the US companies hope that the new, foreign companies will initiate their own anti piracy
organizations (Weisband 30). Microsoft has led the venture by creating small software companies to help battle piracy. By doing this, the companies would
want to report piracy because they would be losing money just like American companies are doing now (Weisband 33). The Software Publishers Association,
based in Washington, D.C., was developed to combat software piracy. As of 1993 the SPA has brought more than 1300 court cases against software pirates.
The SPA has a toll free number that has helped catch many pirates and prosecute them (O Malley 50). The SPA is not merely a law enforcement agency. It
meets twice a year with representatives from software companies. Together they decide how to make their software better and also how to better serve the
consumer. In the spring 1993 conference the SPA decided that if software packages could develop a standard way to clearly label a software box, the consumer
would immediately know if the program would run well on his computer. This labeling would help reduce the number of software returns in stores (Karnes 4).
Since software stores cannot resell returned software, the

How Does The Impact Theory Of The Moon
There are many theories about the creation of the moon. However the currently favored theory is often called the impact theory. This theory states that a large,
Mars sized objects struck the Earth with a glancing blow when it was young and molten. This impact caused matter to come off of the Earth and get stuck in
its orbit. The bits of Earth that blew off were pulled together into a stable orbit and formed the Moon.
The Earth and Moon do have some similarities and differences that are explained by this theory. The Moon, for example, does not have heavy materials like
Earth does. One example of a heavy material on Earth is the iron core. Earth has one, and the Moon does not. This is explained by the timing of the impact. If
the Moon hit the

Chow Yun-Fat Personality
The reason I chose Chow Yun Fat for my individual assignment is his philanthropy and humble personality which I adore the most. Chow Yun Fat is an
international film star which was born on Wednesday May 18th 1955, in south west of Lamma Island, Hong Kong. He first came to the attention of western
audiences via his roles in the action films of maverick HK director John Woo. He has solidified his position as everyone s favourite movie star. Chow Yun Fat
first caught the attention of western audiences with his high octane action roles as the hit man with a heart of gold in John Woo s The Killer and on equally
popular films such as Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon and Pirates of the Caribbean At World s End as Sao Feng. However, his popularity increased with his

The Importance Of Italy In The Aeneid
Virgil makes it clear throughout the Aeneid that Italy is a crucial location for Aeneas to visit on his Odyssean like adventure through omens, prophesy and
discussions with the Gods. As the Aeneid was written to honour Augustus, any reader of it would know that Italy is in fact the future site of Rome and
therefore Virgil must show its importance to Aeneas and his future descendants. Previous to Book 7, the land of Italy, or Latium, is referred to many times by
many different characters of the Aeneid yet it is in this Book that Aeneas finally sights and lands at it. Virgil s description of this land with a great forest and
the river Tiber in all its beauty with all manner of birds flying about it shows Latium to be a beautiful place, full of life. By describing it in such a way Virgil
begins to show its importance; it is clear that this place can easily sustain life and appears peaceful, something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows how important the land of Italy is to the Trojans as the founder of their previous home was originally from there and also gives them a strong right
to return. Later in the Aeneid when the Trojans and their allies must fight the natives of Latium, the reader is even more supportive of Aeneas as it is not seen
as him invading but almost a return home. Virgil attaches importance to the future site of Rome with his lengthy description of the great warriors who once
lived and fought there. In Book 7, after Juno has sent the fury Allecto to create madness in Amata and Turnus, the men of Hesperia begin preparing for war.
They are described as the son of heroes and gods, whom neither fire nor steel might lay low . By describing a great number of men in such a way, Virgil shows
that the land of Italy is full of brave, fierce fighters and it therefore must be an important land to breed and house such

Niccolo Machiavelli s The Qualities Of The Prince And Lao...
Government: A Profound Leader
Since the being of time, humans have sought out law, or government. Governments have been set in place all throughout the world to try to maintain peace and
order. As easy as it sounds, governments can be demolished without the right leader. However, that is the catch, what makes a good leader? Niccolo
Machiavelli s The Qualities of the Prince and Lao Tzu s Tao te Ching gives some ideas on how a leader should control their government. Although Machiavelli
s and Lao Tzu s ideas do not quite go hand and hand, there are some similarities. They both spoke similarly on how people should feel about their leader. Lao
Tzu views one of the best qualities of a leader is being loved by his people. On the other hand, Machiavelli believes the best is to be loved and feared, but
sense he thinks that is impossible he had rather just be feared. Machiavelli and Lao Tzu are more opposite than alike. According to Machiavelli, war should be
a profession of a prince. He suggested a prince to think about war all the time and know the surroundings constantly. However, Lao Tzu suggests a leader not
to force war on anyone because the outcome will result in revenge and not to waste time preparing for war. Also, they had different views on what to do with
their money. Machiavelli insisted on saving his income for preparation of war, whereas Lao Tzu believed in sharing his money throughout the people.
Although Machiavelli and Lao Tzu would probably get in

The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery And The Los...
West Los Angeles is home to two prominent cemeteries: the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Los Angeles National Cemetery. The
Westwood Cemetery was constructed in 1905, serving as the rest place for many famous individuals within the entertainment industry. Famous names such as
Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison, and Jack Lemmon are buried at this grave site. Nearly less than a mile away from this cemetery is
the Los Angeles National Cemetery. Established in 1889, this national cemetery is home to many members of the armed forces who have actively served in the
military and/or law enforcement. These two distinct cemeteries may only appear to share relativity through their short distance, but they also symbolize many
cultural aspects of the American ideology. The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Veterans Cemetery reinforces American societal
conformities and ideals by perpetuating the idea of gender bias, displaying extreme idolization of celebrity status, and imprinting religious affiliation. Through
tombstone appearance, cultural imprints on the tombstones, and categorization of the tombstones, both cemeteries embody contemporary American and Los
Angeles culture.
The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery contains some of the most prominent figures in Hollywood. In addition, the cemetery is the burial site of
many common individuals. In comparison to the Veterans Cemetery, the Westwood village Cemetery is extremely small

Forensic Pros
In the event that any firearm is discovered at a crime scene there are certain steps that need to be done in order to properly collect any type of firearm evidence.
If there is any kind of firearm found at the scene it should be rendered safe immediately. For safety is the first priority at any crime scene. Forensic technicians
should assign an evidence number to the firearm, photograph orientation and close up view s, and take measurements of the firearm s location prior to
collecting it. In order to deem a semiautomatic pistol safe, the forensic technician should be wearing latex gloves an unload the weapon as follows; (Tina

1. Grasp the pistol at the grip pointing the pistol downward and away from people.
2. Avoid contact with smooth surfaces that may contain latent fingerprints.

Analysis Of Jack Davis s Rabbit Proof Fence
The 1985 play, No Sugar, written by Jack Davis, exposes the cruel treatment towards Aboriginals during the Great Depression, from the point of view of
Jimmy. Similarly, Rabbit Proof Fence, the 2002 historical drama film further conveys this harsh treatment but from the contrasting point of view of Molly.
Both the point of views explored support related purposes and evoke the same responses from the audience. Generic conventions including, dramatic
techniques, mise en scene, flashbacks and dialogue aid the directors in highlighting the main purposes of informing the readers of the Aboriginals side of the
story, and to provoke an empathetic response from the viewers. Jack Davis play, No Sugar, utilises a variety of dramatic techniques in order to explain to
audience the that there are two sides to every story. Many people only know the European Settlers story, but Davis play aims to expose the oppression the
Aboriginals experience during the 1930 s. From the point of view of Jimmy Munday, the main force behind the Aboriginals rebellion, we are able to
understand the hardships the Indigenous people had to live through. Whilst discussing the ration cut with A.O Neville, Jimmy exclaims, Native Protector,
couldn t protect my dog from fleas. This is implying that Neville is useless at his job, as, if he is unable to protect a dog, how is he meant to protect people.
Also, by referencing dogs and fleas, Jimmy is explaining how the Aboriginals felt as though white society saw them as animals. Jimmy s tone throughout this
scene is very direct, as Neville tends to be supercilious over the Aboriginals. When Jimmy goes to Neville s office in Perth to request a train ticket to Northam,
he engages in an argument with Neville. When asking what he was doing in Perth, Jimmy bluntly replies, Mindin my own bloody business. This infers how
the Aboriginals lives were none of the White people s business and they should not have interfered and attempted to assimilate them. The use of alliteration of
the words bloody and business draws the readers attention to this section of the quote, and highlights the fact that Jimmy wants nothing to do with the white
people and just wants to live his life in peace. The dialogue, tone

A Statement Of Reform Education Literacy
A Statement of Reform in Educational Proficiency Pertaining to Bernie Sanders Candidacy
In a recent BuzzFeed article, a freshman at UCLA was asked how his life as a college student was going. It s the remix to ignition, there s no food in the
kitchen, my whole life is a mess, I don t know what s going on and I can t afford my tuition . The life of a college student is stressful. Getting to class on time
after staying up all night studying and trying to earn a degree on pop tarts and canned potatoes is not an aspect many people dream of experiencing. On top of
it all, students endure college with their biggest fear, how they propose to pay for it, because as most students and educators know it s expensive. So, I ve come
up with a backup plan. Instead of going through all this trouble paying for some degree that doesn t even guarantee me a job after graduation, I m going to quit
college, become an oven, and get up to five hundred degrees. I m joking of course, but it s an idea that could probably save you a couple of bucks. Paying for
college is an eerie and sinister part of life that many Americans are forced to face every day. According to The College Board, almost seventy percent of
college students in the United States, the majority being of non Caucasian decent, do not receive adequate funding and scholarships to help pay for the tuitions
at high dollar public universities such as Ohio State, Arizona State and UCLA, and even inexpensive schools such as TSTC.

Analysis of a Key Passage,
Initiation by Sylvia Plath
In Initiation by Sylvia Plath, the author suggests that conformity and having friends is a wonderful idea, yet the idea of having an individual identity and being
an individual is stronger. In the excerpt, Millicent is slowly realizing that conforming and being a part of a sorority is not as exciting as it sounds, and being an
individual offers more opportunities to become a unique person.
Millicent is an average girl who no one really notices, when one day, a sorority group decides to allow her to join, but she must past their initiation test first. At

In Millicent s mind, freedom and originality is described as swooping carefree heather birds, they would go singing and cooing out across the great spaces of

defined description that originality does not exist in a solid form. They are described to be swooping, carefree , meaning there is no worry of being judged, and
dipping and darting, strong in their freedom describes the happiness of a worry free life, where style and opinions are not judged or withheld, unlike the
chirping , trapped, restrained sparrows which symbolize the sorority. Heather birds were singing and cooing out across the great spaces of air , showing that
they could express their ideas and opinions without worry, though loneliness was a consequence. In the excerpt, it was stated that the heather birds were strong

times the individuality will stand out, and she will be alone.
Through this mental debate, Millicent learns discovers that she could enter her imaginary great hall through her coronation as a princess labelling her

The Black Arts Movement was within African American culture from 1965 to 1975. The main concern was to separate from the western aesthetic and create a

Americans spiritually and culturally. The three concerns of the Black Arts Movement coalesce and creates the Black Arts Movement. These major concerns

recidivism rates than those who received traditional supervision. 516 high risk parolees who had been released from prison between January 2006 and March

The long shots and point of view shots were used so that we can have an idea as to who such characters are and how their lives are. For example, in the
sequence where the ruler of England is introduced to the audience, the usage of long shots allows us to understand these particular characters and what they
do. In addition, we are able to deduct that these five individuals are to be considered as top aides to the ruler of England. Even though they possess a sense of
authority, they are still below/under the ruler of England. This was demonstrated through the camera s angling. In this same sequence the camera angle is at a
low angle. This low angle is used to demonstrate the amount of power the ruler has over these individuals and over the country. The usage of closeups plays a
role in the depiction as to how much power the ruler possesses. Close ups, when effectively used, can portray power. Because of this sequences frequent use of
point of view shots, the audience is able to relate and to feel the same way the five characters feel during this sequence (feeling inferior to the ruler of
England). This is a representation of McTeigue effectively using framing to depict a realist style towards viewers by allowing such viewers to relate to the

Privacy means the state or condition of being free from being observed or disturbed by other people. Privacy is something that we all take for granted because
we don t know how to live our lives without it and in most cases we never have, well not like in the 1984 and The Circle. Without privacy, people would not
be comfortable doing most of the things that they do on a daily basis. If we were being watched and listen to day in and day out then we would be living like
prisoners. We would be limited to what we say, who we talk to, and sometimes even who we date. When there is privacy in relationships, it gives it a greater

trusted roaming everywhere, it was tough. Orwell tells us how much the price of privacy is worth and is sacrificed for when Julia and Winston betray each
other at the end. Orwell sends many messages through out the whole story. First, it is valid evidence that without privacy, people have to follow the rules of
which the government enforces upon them. Every government has their set of rules, but without privacy, the government is full of control in what it enforces
and what you think. On a social and personal level, we see that Julia and Winston have to secretly have their relationship. This lead to them eventually rebel
and get caught in the story. Orwell is warning us that a relationship is build upon trust and privacy. If we can t speak our minds on just normal stuff to a single
individual or may be a group; then their is a issue. This issue can affect the quality of the relationship. One may not be comfortable or even trust the other party
due to the lack of privacy, and whats a friendship without privacy? But, the bottom line main thought of what can happen if the government does not give us
privacy. We see the consequences in the story The Circle , and realistically speaking, in modern day society. We have

Elements Of Magical Realism
Various readers tend to misinterpret the concept of magical realism when developing the genre as a whole. The literary or artistic genre magical realism is the
adding of surreal elements within a story in an attempt to create a realistic narrative without distracting the narrative flow. There are several characteristics
having to do with the intertwining of elements in which unexplainable events are seen to be an everyday event, allowing the reader to get a better
understanding of the author s intention. In the following stories, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World, Bless
Me, Ultima and Light is Like Water, there are several different elements that characterize magical realism. Magical realism is evident within the stories, A Very
Old Man with Enormous Wings and Bless Me, Ultima, because they are set in an otherwise ordinary world, with cultural realities and the events within the
stories are not always explained by universal laws or familiar logic. The cultural reality in A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings reveals a lot about the
people who follow the faith Catholicism. The people in the town tried to make the old man eat some mothballs (paragraph 8) because it was supposedly the
food prescribes for angels. This show how the people of the Catholic religion did not think of the old man as magical, they really believed he was an angel and
expected him to act certain way since he was an angel. In addition, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings demonstrates how the events within the stories are
not always explained by universal laws or familiar logic when the townspeople were introduced to the old man (the extraordinary). The old man is described as
a ragpicker, with only a few faded hairs on his head and having very few teeth in his mouth, but despite these human characteristics the old man is treated
inhumanly. The townspeople treated the old man with no respect, he was penned up with the chickens and displayed, forced to eat mush and branded. The fact
the townspeople dehumanized the old man because of unfamiliar characteristics portrays how human nature is not accepting to those who are different and will
only accept those who are like them.

Essay On Bye Week
In response to the injury issues some individuals contain, a bye week, such as that Madden brought up is a possible solution. A bye week, as defined by
reference.com, is when specific teams have a week free of competition ( What Does Bye Mean np). To extend the regular season to 17 weeks, the NFL uses a
bye week, welcomingly accepted by players and coaches as a way to rest from their strenuous schedule ( What Does Bye Mean np). As Madden suggested, for
those teams who receive the occasional Thursday night games, a bye week would solve the suggestive injury issues tied to the extra night of competition.
Additionally, a bye week would solve with the issue of minimal preparation time, as a whole week would provide extra practice time ... Show more content on

As stated above, the league has commented in response to the Thursday Night Football argument, saying the near future fails in agreeing with elimination, or
even consideration of the suggested solution. Although many football fans following this issue argue the elimination would solve problems discussed, the
opposite side argues simple facts saying many factors are viable in the recent drop of television ratings this past season, including the attention drawn to the
2016 presidential race (Barrabi np). Although nearly across the board NFL s primetime game ratings are lower than normal, improvement is promising as of
the conclusion of the presidential election (Barrabi np). Consequently, last year s Thanksgiving day matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington
Redskins drew in averagely 35.1 million viewers on the Fox Network, earning the highest total of viewers for a regular game season since 1995 (Barrabi np).
Furthermore, numbers don t lie, whether those against Thursday Night Football argue or not. Therefore, while many spectators assume that they know best,
Thursday Night Football seems to be a promised regularity in the near future, despite arguments offered. Consequently, the fans of the National Football
League, along with players and coaches merely desire the best option that will please those involved as a

The Global Effects of Imperialism, World War I and the...
The Global Effects of Imperialism, World War I and the Great Depression Bentley first talked about cross cultural interactions as a way to categorize the World
s history. He in addition wrote about the importance of understanding events from a global perspective, not just one country s point of view. Because of these

These colonies according to Kipling needed protection from their surroundings.
Imperialism had an impact on the world because it created a new market for goods to be exchanged. Countries in Europe were able to acquire new natural
resources and raw materials for further production. Then, these countries could sell their goods back to their colonies or elsewhere in the world. The
imperialistic movements also had a global impact because of the conflict that arose between nations. Tension was building in Europe over the control of
colonies and African countries had to fight wars to make an attempt at retaining their freedom. Eventually, these wars would be a factor in the causes for World
War I because Europeans were building conflict with one another in an effort to show off their strength and power in Africa.
The assassination of the archduke Franz Ferdinand led to the beginning of the Great War. Though that one event probably did not carry enough importance to
cause a worldwide impact, there were several factors such as the imperial wars and the arms race that also were important in causing the war. The death of the
archduke then was just a disguise or an excuse for these countries to go to war because tensions had been building amongst one another for years. Like the
Great Depression, World War I affected Europe the most. Fighting in Africa did occur however and many of the imperial colonies were at stake during

Failures Of The Weimar Republic
In its beginnings, the Weimar Republic was one of the most progressive nations in all of Europe. With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social
Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were
somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the
detriment of the minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were not initially
ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the
once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the
systematic pacification of the German people.
Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the
Conservative Party. The devastating effects of the worldwide depression caused the conservative President Paul von Hindenburg to enact Article 48 of the
Weimar constitution due to an emergency state, which essentially allowed the president to appoint a chancellor without the approval of the Reichstag.
Hindenburg appointed numerous different chancellors in the

Ethics Of Marketing To Children
Ethics of Marketing to Children Advertisements are everywhere. They are a major part of modern day society. Whether it be a television commercial, an
internet banner, or a billboard, advertisements influence people of all ages, but they affect a certain age group much more than others. Children ranging from
toddlers to teenagers are exposed to thousands upon thousands of advertisements each year. Some of these advertisements are damaging to children, while
others are a positive influence. Advertisements can either be used as a tool or a weapon. Food advertisements and manipulation strategies are both positive and
negative, and how companies use them decides whether or not marketing to children is ethical. The health and well being of children ... Show more content on

Advertisements also affect a child s own identity because advertising manipulates [children] through their insecurities, working to define normality for them
(Source C). Children, especially pre teens and teenagers, are essentially going through a multitude of crises with the most prominent one being and identity
crisis. Figuring out who one is, is a vital step towards adulthood and independence, and with advertisements altering children s thoughts and ideas, their
futures are not looking as bright. Without a sense of self, humans are nothing. They are simply mindless creatures just trying to survive. They have no
intellectual independence and therefore, inventions, ideas, and discoveries will begin to slowly diminish. But, the manipulative ways of advertising can in facts
be positive. With 15,312 promotions and public service announcements seen by children and teens annually (Source A), the world has a high chance of new
generations of innovators and environmental heroes. If advertisements can, in a sense, manipulate children into doing positive things and taking actions, then
yes, advertising to children is an extremely clever thing to do, and will benefit not only the viewers, but the world in

Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government...
Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government
The provisional government was brought about after the fall of the Tsarist government collapsed. This was done purely because of lack of support for the Tsar
and being the only major party. They were in power for 8months and after making five serious errors; they were removed from power by force. Kerensky ran
the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity and gullibility that let him down.
The first error he made was that he made no attempt to make the provisional government legitimate. It never held a democratic election for fear of losing
status. Even though at the start of their reign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This left an army that was majorly weakened and people thought that, like the Tsar he was a loser of wars. The populations now have an even worse opinion of
him and it was not good for his popularity.
Kerensky underestimated the Bolshevik s and Lenin. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and
Land for the Peasants , he thought sending Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an uprising in
Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other
countries and supporters of Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another revolution (bringing about
communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on
Kerensky s position in Russian parliament.
Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a definitive error of his. He thought that the Bolshevik s were
attempting to take over Russia by means of a coup, thus he asked Kornilov to send part of his army to protect him. When they got there,

Criminal Justice Internship At The Yale Child Abuse Programs
If you have a passion for it, you ll find it out in the field (Josh Valentino). I completed my criminal justice internship at the Yale Child Abuse Programs
Department of Pediatrics, in New Haven Connecticut. My internship with the Child Abuse Programs was such an eye opening experience. I not only got to
learn about my field of study, but this internship has also aloud me to discover a lot about myself as a person as well. When I walked into the Yale building on
my first day as an intern, I did not know what to expect, and I certainly had no idea that my time there would leave such a huge impact on me. I remember
thinking that this was my chance to confirm that my ultimate goal of working as a forensic psychologist was the right career choice me. On the first day of my
internship, I was introduced to the staff that I would be working with, and I also received a tour of the clinic. I was informed that there were four forensic
interviewers on staff, as well as four practitioners, a program coordinator, a child life specialist and a host of family and child services advocates. Since we
work mostly with children, the clinic itself is very child friendly. We have a playroom that houses everything from iPads, to dollhouses. If a child is coming to
our clinic, it is usually is because they are a victim of some kind of abuse. As you can imagine, this is a very traumatic time for them and we try to make it as
comfortable as possible given the circumstances. The clinic also has an

Chemical Coagulation vs Electrocoagulation for Groundwater...
Arsenic contamination in groundwater has become a major health problem for human being. There are many treatment methods have been developed for
arsenic removal. It is important to develop a treatment method that is economical and accessible for people who live in rural areas and cannot afford the
expensive treatment methods. Due to its several advantages, such as low cost and maintenance, electrocoagulation is one of the promising methods that can be
used for arsenic treatment. In this study, we compare chemical coagulation with electrocoagulation and try to show the advantages of electrocoagulation over
chemical coagulation. Three experimental studies have been reviewed and based on the results of these studies it has been concluded that by determining
optimum parameters such as electrolysis time, initial arsenic concentration, current density, electrode surface area, and pH value, electrocoagulation can be an
effective treatment method for arsenic removal from groundwater due to its low cost, eco friendly and low maintenance.

Because there is a difference distinctly built into giving them different notations, it implies that there are differences between each the Old Testament and the New Testament, whether it is subtle in nature or obvious in nature. To Christians, the difference means that the Old Testament contains dealings between God and the world and even some of the rules made are made irrelevant by the interactions of Christ Jesus with the world. The Old Testament describes an angry God, one who only created the world and was obsessed with laws and rules. The New Testament describes a loving God who redeemed the world. The different ways the Old Testament and New Testament describe God and his nature are very much influenced by their perspective of God. By the rules, actions, and laws God made, the early writers of the Old Testament made their judgements about God and wrote those perspectives into the books of the Old Testament. The writers of the Old Testament did the best they could with the information they had and got some things about God right, but also got things wrong. • 24. The Importance Of Italy In The Aeneid Virgil makes it clear throughout the Aeneid that Italy is a crucial location for Aeneas to visit on his Odyssean like adventure through omens, prophesy and discussions with the Gods. As the Aeneid was written to honour Augustus, any reader of it would know that Italy is in fact the future site of Rome and therefore Virgil must show its importance to Aeneas and his future descendants. Previous to Book 7, the land of Italy, or Latium, is referred to many times by many different characters of the Aeneid yet it is in this Book that Aeneas finally sights and lands at it. Virgil s description of this land with a great forest and the river Tiber in all its beauty with all manner of birds flying about it shows Latium to be a beautiful place, full of life. By describing it in such a way Virgil begins to show its importance; it is clear that this place can easily sustain life and appears peaceful, something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later in the Aeneid when the Trojans and their allies must fight the natives of Latium, the reader is even more supportive of Aeneas as it is not seen as him invading but almost a return home. Virgil attaches importance to the future site of Rome with his lengthy description of the great warriors who once lived and fought there. In Book 7, after Juno has sent the fury Allecto to create madness in Amata and Turnus, the men of Hesperia begin preparing for war. They are described as the son of heroes and gods, whom neither fire nor steel might lay low . Governments have been set in place all throughout the world to try to maintain peace and order. As easy as it sounds, governments can be demolished without the right leader. However, that is the catch, what makes a good leader? Niccolo Machiavelli s The Qualities of the Prince and Lao Tzu s Tao te Ching gives some ideas on how a leader should control their government. Although Machiavelli s and Lao Tzu s ideas do not quite go hand and hand, there are some similarities. They both spoke similarly on how people should feel about their leader. Lao Tzu views one of the best qualities of a leader is being loved by his people. On the other hand, Machiavelli believes the best is to be loved and feared, but sense he thinks that is impossible he had rather just be feared. Machiavelli and Lao Tzu are more opposite than alike. According to Machiavelli, war should be a profession of a prince. He suggested a prince to think about war all the time and know the surroundings constantly. However, Lao Tzu suggests a leader not to force war on anyone because the outcome will result in revenge and not to waste time preparing for war. Also, they had different views on what to do with their money. Machiavelli insisted on saving his income for preparation of war, whereas Lao Tzu believed in sharing his money throughout the people. West Los Angeles is home to two prominent cemeteries: the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Los Angeles National Cemetery. The Westwood Cemetery was constructed in 1905, serving as the rest place for many famous individuals within the entertainment industry. Famous names such as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison, and Jack Lemmon are buried at this grave site. Nearly less than a mile away from this cemetery is the Los Angeles National Cemetery. Established in 1889, this national cemetery is home to many members of the armed forces who have actively served in the military and/or law enforcement. These two distinct cemeteries may only appear to share relativity through their short distance, but they also symbolize many cultural aspects of the American ideology. The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Veterans Cemetery reinforces American societal conformities and ideals by perpetuating the idea of gender bias, displaying extreme idolization of celebrity status, and imprinting religious affiliation. Through tombstone appearance, cultural imprints on the tombstones, and categorization of the tombstones, both cemeteries embody contemporary American and Los Angeles culture. • 29. Analysis Of Jack Davis s Rabbit Proof Fence The 1985 play, No Sugar, written by Jack Davis, exposes the cruel treatment towards Aboriginals during the Great Depression, from the point of view of Jimmy. Similarly, Rabbit Proof Fence, the 2002 historical drama film further conveys this harsh treatment but from the contrasting point of view of Molly. Both the point of views explored support related purposes and evoke the same responses from the audience. Generic conventions including, dramatic techniques, mise en scene, flashbacks and dialogue aid the directors in highlighting the main purposes of informing the readers of the Aboriginals side of the story, and to provoke an empathetic response from the viewers. Jack Davis play, No Sugar, utilises a variety of dramatic techniques in order to explain to audience the that there are two sides to every story. Many people only know the European Settlers story, but Davis play aims to expose the oppression the Aboriginals experience during the 1930 s. From the point of view of Jimmy Munday, the main force behind the Aboriginals rebellion, we are able to understand the hardships the Indigenous people had to live through. Whilst discussing the ration cut with A.O Neville, Jimmy exclaims, Native Protector, couldn t protect my dog from fleas. This is implying that Neville is useless at his job, as, if he is unable to protect a dog, how is he meant to protect people. Also, by referencing dogs and fleas, Jimmy is explaining how the Aboriginals felt as though white society saw them as animals. Jimmy s tone throughout this scene is very direct, as Neville tends to be supercilious over the Aboriginals. When Jimmy goes to Neville s office in Perth to request a train ticket to Northam, he engages in an argument with Neville. When asking what he was doing in Perth, Jimmy bluntly replies, Mindin my own bloody business. This infers how the Aboriginals lives were none of the White people s business and they should not have interfered and attempted to assimilate them. The use of alliteration of the words bloody and business draws the readers attention to this section of the quote, and highlights the fact that Jimmy wants nothing to do with the white people and just wants to live his life in peace. The long shots and point of view shots were used so that we can have an idea as to who such characters are and how their lives are. For example, in the sequence where the ruler of England is introduced to the audience, the usage of long shots allows us to understand these particular characters and what they do. In addition, we are able to deduct that these five individuals are to be considered as top aides to the ruler of England. Even though they possess a sense of authority, they are still below/under the ruler of England. This was demonstrated through the camera s angling. In this same sequence the camera angle is at a low angle. This low angle is used to demonstrate the amount of power the ruler has over these individuals and over the country. The usage of closeups plays a role in the depiction as to how much power the ruler possesses. Close ups, when effectively used, can portray power. Because of this sequences frequent use of point of view shots, the audience is able to relate and to feel the same way the five characters feel during this sequence (feeling inferior to the ruler of England). Magical realism is evident within the stories, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Bless Me, Ultima, because they are set in an otherwise ordinary world, with cultural realities and the events within the stories are not always explained by universal laws or familiar logic. The cultural reality in A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings reveals a lot about the people who follow the faith Catholicism. The people in the town tried to make the old man eat some mothballs (paragraph 8) because it was supposedly the food prescribes for angels. This show how the people of the Catholic religion did not think of the old man as magical, they really believed he was an angel and expected him to act certain way since he was an angel. In addition, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings demonstrates how the events within the stories are not always explained by universal laws or familiar logic when the townspeople were introduced to the old man (the extraordinary). The old man is described as a ragpicker, with only a few faded hairs on his head and having very few teeth in his mouth, but despite these human characteristics the old man is treated inhumanly. The townspeople treated the old man with no respect, he was penned up with the chickens and displayed, forced to eat mush and branded. The fact the townspeople dehumanized the old man because of unfamiliar characteristics portrays how human nature is not accepting to those who are different and will only accept those who are like them. ... As stated above, the league has commented in response to the Thursday Night Football argument, saying the near future fails in agreeing with elimination, or even consideration of the suggested solution. Although many football fans following this issue argue the elimination would solve problems discussed, the opposite side argues simple facts saying many factors are viable in the recent drop of television ratings this past season, including the attention drawn to the 2016 presidential race (Barrabi np). Although nearly across the board NFL s primetime game ratings are lower than normal, improvement is promising as of the conclusion of the presidential election (Barrabi np). Consequently, last year s Thanksgiving day matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins drew in averagely 35.1 million viewers on the Fox Network, earning the highest total of viewers for a regular game season since 1995 (Barrabi np). Furthermore, numbers don t lie, whether those against Thursday Night Football argue or not. Therefore, while many spectators assume that they know best, Thursday Night Football seems to be a promised regularity in the near future, despite arguments offered. The Global Effects of Imperialism, World War I and the Great Depression Bentley first talked about cross cultural interactions as a way to categorize the World s history. He in addition wrote about the importance of understanding events from a global perspective, not just one country s point of view. These colonies according to Kipling needed protection from their surroundings. Imperialism had an impact on the world because it created a new market for goods to be exchanged. Countries in Europe were able to acquire new natural resources and raw materials for further production. Then, these countries could sell their goods back to their colonies or elsewhere in the world. The imperialistic movements also had a global impact because of the conflict that arose between nations. Tension was building in Europe over the control of colonies and African countries had to fight wars to make an attempt at retaining their freedom. Eventually, these wars would be a factor in the causes for World War I because Europeans were building conflict with one another in an effort to show off their strength and power in Africa. The assassination of the archduke Franz Ferdinand led to the beginning of the Great War. Though that one event probably did not carry enough importance to cause a worldwide impact, there were several factors such as the imperial wars and the arms race that also were important in causing the war. The death of the archduke then was just a disguise or an excuse for these countries to go to war because tensions had been building amongst one another for years. Like the Great Depression, World War I affected Europe the most. Fighting in Africa did occur however and many of the imperial colonies were at stake during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Failures Of The Weimar Republic In its beginnings, the Weimar Republic was one of the most progressive nations in all of Europe. With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people. Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. The devastating effects of the worldwide depression caused the conservative President Paul von Hindenburg to enact Article 48 of the Weimar constitution due to an emergency state, which essentially allowed the president to appoint a chancellor without the approval of the Reichstag. Hindenburg appointed numerous different chancellors in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Ethics Of Marketing To Children Ethics of Marketing to Children Advertisements are everywhere. They are a major part of modern day society. Whether it be a television commercial, an internet banner, or a billboard, advertisements influence people of all ages, but they affect a certain age group much more than others. Children ranging from toddlers to teenagers are exposed to thousands upon thousands of advertisements each year. Some of these advertisements are damaging to children, while others are a positive influence. Advertisements can either be used as a tool or a weapon. Food advertisements and manipulation strategies are both positive and negative, and how companies use them decides whether or not marketing to children is ethical. Advertisements also affect a child s own identity because advertising manipulates [children] through their insecurities, working to define normality for them (Source C). Children, especially pre teens and teenagers, are essentially going through a multitude of crises with the most prominent one being and identity crisis. Figuring out who one is, is a vital step towards adulthood and independence, and with advertisements altering children s thoughts and ideas, their futures are not looking as bright. Without a sense of self, humans are nothing. They are simply mindless creatures just trying to survive. They have no intellectual independence and therefore, inventions, ideas, and discoveries will begin to slowly diminish. But, the manipulative ways of advertising can in facts be positive. With 15,312 promotions and public service announcements seen by children and teens annually (Source A), the world has a high chance of new generations of innovators and environmental heroes. • 48. Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government... Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government The provisional government was brought about after the fall of the Tsarist government collapsed. This was done purely because of lack of support for the Tsar and being the only major party. They were in power for 8months and after making five serious errors; they were removed from power by force. Kerensky ran the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity and gullibility that let him down. The first error he made was that he made no attempt to make the provisional government legitimate. It never held a democratic election for fear of losing status. Even though at the start of their reign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This left an army that was majorly weakened and people thought that, like the Tsar he was a loser of wars. The populations now have an even worse opinion of him and it was not good for his popularity. Kerensky underestimated the Bolshevik s and Lenin. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and Land for the Peasants , he thought sending Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an uprising in Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other countries and supporters of Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another revolution (bringing about communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on Kerensky s position in Russian parliament. Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a definitive error of his. He thought that the Bolshevik s were attempting to take over Russia by means of a coup, thus he asked Kornilov to send part of his army to protect him. When they got there, ... I completed my criminal justice internship at the Yale Child Abuse Programs Department of Pediatrics, in New Haven Connecticut. My internship with the Child Abuse Programs was such an eye opening experience. I not only got to learn about my field of study, but this internship has also aloud me to discover a lot about myself as a person as well. When I walked into the Yale building on my first day as an intern, I did not know what to expect, and I certainly had no idea that my time there would leave such a huge impact on me. I remember thinking that this was my chance to confirm that my ultimate goal of working as a forensic psychologist was the right career choice me. On the first day of my internship, I was introduced to the staff that I would be working with, and I also received a tour of the clinic. I was informed that there were four forensic interviewers on staff, as well as four practitioners, a program coordinator, a child life specialist and a host of family and child services advocates. Since we work mostly with children, the clinic itself is very child friendly. We have a playroom that houses everything from iPads, to dollhouses. If a child is coming to our clinic, it is usually is because they are a victim of some kind of abuse. As you can imagine, this is a very traumatic time for them and we try to make it as comfortable as possible given the circumstances. The clinic also has an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Chemical Coagulation vs Electrocoagulation for Groundwater... Arsenic contamination in groundwater has become a major health problem for human being. There are many treatment methods have been developed for arsenic removal. It is important to develop a treatment method that is economical and accessible for people who live in rural areas and cannot afford the expensive treatment methods. Due to its several advantages, such as low cost and maintenance, electrocoagulation is one of the promising methods that can be used for arsenic treatment. In this study, we compare chemical coagulation with electrocoagulation and try to show the advantages of electrocoagulation over chemical coagulation. Three experimental studies have been reviewed and based on the results of these studies it has been concluded that by determining optimum parameters such as electrolysis time, initial arsenic concentration, current density, electrode surface area, and pH value, electrocoagulation can be an effective treatment method for arsenic removal from groundwater due to its low cost, eco friendly and low maintenance.
