On November 10, 1483, In Eisleben, Saxony (What Is Now
On November 10, 1483, in Eisleben, Saxony (what is now Germany), Hans and Margarethe
Luther welcomed a son. The following morning, the Luther s baptized their newborn son.
Traditionally Catholics of the period named their children after a saint. Thus, the child received
the name Martin as November 11 is the feast day of St. Martin of Tours. The Luther family moved
to Mansfield in 1484 and once Martin was old enough to attend a school he began his elementary
schooling there. Once Luther completed this primary education he began his next level of
instruction in Magdeburg, which is north of Eisleben, and finally, he attended grammar school in
Eisenach itself. Luther s father desired Martin to study law so that Martin would by guided into a...

In 1517, Luther created a document for debate with the church. The document, known as the
Ninety five Theses, outlined what Luther saw were discrepancies between the actions of the
church and what Scripture teaches. He nailed the paper to the door of the Castle Church in
Wittenburg on October 31, 1517. Albert, the Archbishop of Mainz and Magdeburg, received a
copy of the document the same day. (McKim 8) The church proceeded to charge Luther with
heresy and over the course of the next three years, he faced several panels. Finally, in 1520, the
pope excommunicated Luther and fearing for his life, Luther went into hiding. During this time,
Luther married a former nun named Katharina von Bora. During 1524 1526, Luther came out of
hiding to oppose a revolt lead by the peasants in Germany which the other Protestant clergy
supported.
Finally, during 1531 1546 Luther s health began to wane. Luther was busy struggling with the
conflict which was developing in the Reformation movement. As time progressed, his writings
became more judgmental of other people. Toward the end of his life, his writings became anti
Semitic, calling for the deportation of all Jews from Germany. On February 17, 1546, Luther felt
chest pains after completing settlement negotiations; he died the next day.
Lutheranism has three main theological points. These points were unique to it at the time Martin

Pushing Social Change And Toppling The Patriarchy Essay
Pushing Social Change and Toppling the Patriarchy
Television remains an important medium in exposing the viewing public to marginalized ideas,
life styles, and varied ways of thinking. Unlike a film, which usually takes place over a self
contained two hour period, television offers more screen time over the arch of seasons to explore
characters and themes in deeply meaningful and personal ways. Aided by its structure and format,
television programs are able to touch people, helping to change how we all view the world. In
recent years, and amongst the explosion in popularity of platforms such as Hulu, Amazon, and
Netflix, willing to take risks on shows and themes previously perceived as too risquГ© for

Jill Soloway, comedian, writer and director, and pioneering television icon, created Transparent to
make the world a safer place for transgenders and other minorities. As Jill Soloway said at the 2016
Primetime Emmy Awards, she wants to topple the patriarchy and make transgenders and members
of the LGBTQ community heroes (Huffington Post, 2016). Therefore, through examining the
themes of gender identity and religion, both themes presented in the film and in class, Transparent
comments on society s current state and proposes meaningful change.
As Transparent begins, the opening credits offer a glimpse into the ideas of gender. From the
lighting of a candle, symbolizing light into the darkness of life, to a shimmering blue dress
worn by a female impersonator the opening credits reveal the process of becoming a transgender.
Transitioning from a male to a female, or vice versa, is a feat that only a few undertake.
However, in the show Transparent, Mort Pfefferman transitions into Maura Pfefferman, a
masculine figure who blossoms in femininity and bravery. While it is already a difficult task to
come out as transgender, it is made even more difficult in this case because Maura has to deal with
many family dramas revolving around her self absorbed children.
Throughout the first season of Transparent, gender identity is explored and seen through the
challenges that the characters face. For

people we are.
Lesson No. 3: Notes: Being unique If we are all the same life would be boring and rather pointless.

almost nothing for themselves, they don t know any better. Without choices or opportunity people

Sled The sled represents freedom, without the sled Jonas probably wouldn t have crossed the

The Importance Of The European Union
Europe is one of the largest economic zones in the world and has tremendous influence within
global economics and politics. The European Union was created to promote peace throughout a
region that has been plagued by wars for all modern and ancient history. There is growing discontent
towards the Union in recent years, the United Kingdomhas voted to leave the Union through efforts
from and candidates in member countries have pledged to leave the Union once in power. The
future of the Union is in jeopardy so the question is, whether the E.U. should remain as one or
dismantle entirely, and what problems to both paths lead to? The European Unionshould remain
because all member countries benefit economically and socially through unity, however the Union
needs to agree more on policy instead of populism. When the European Union was established the
cause was rooted in European peace. After the Second World War, many European countries found
themselves in ruin and saw an emerging superpower in the east in the U.S.S.R. Countries in Europe
decided it was in their best interest to form a federation of European countries in order to promote
a more safe and secure Europe. For the most part, it has worked, It is no coincidence that the longest
period of peace in written history in Europe started with the formation of the European
Communities (Juncker 2016). Europe quickly started signing economic treaties to help promote
better trade between countries and this gradually expanded

Prince Prospero s Death
The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe is a short story of fear and death. Prince
Prospero was seen as a God of his civilization because he was the richest amongst all of the people
and was a public figure. The Red Death had come and brought death to Prince Prospero s city
and he was afraid. Prince Prospero s fear caused him to run and hide from death itself, but not one
can run away from death. Prince Prospero s fear lead to his downfall and ultimately his death. Fear
is the root cause of Prince Prospero s downfall. Prince Prospero saw how the Red Death left the

The masquerade, however, dispels the sense of claustrophobia within the palace by liberating the
inner demons of the guests. These demons are then embodied by the grotesque costumes. Like the
carnival, the masquerade urges the abandonment of social conventions and rigid senses of personal
identity. However, the mysterious guest illuminates the extent to which Prospero and his guests
police the limits of social convention. When the mysterious guest uses his costume to portray the
fears that the masquerade is designed to counteract, Prospero responds antagonistically. As he
knows, the prosperity of the party relies upon the psychological transformation of fear about the
Red Death into revelry. When the mysterious guest dramatizes his own version of revelry as the
fear that cannot be spoken, he violates an implicit social rule of the masquerade. The fall of Prospero

Research Paper On The Divine Comedy
Divine Comedy The Divine Comedy is a lengthy poem composed by a considerable Italian poet
that worked primarily in the late middle ages. Composed by Dante Alighieri, who was a
political thinker, writer, and poet who is remembered mostly for composing The Divine
Comedy, which made a lasting impact on theology, as well as literature. Many consider Dante a
genius when it came to literature, a wise man full of knowledge. He was born in Florence, Italy
and lived from 1265 to 1321. Many believe Dante studied tuscan poetry while in school but it is
not known where and when he went to school. He is remembered as a very influential writer
who used Italian language rather than Latin. He was born into a family that was supposedly
involved deeply with the Florentine political scene which was a large influence on him and his
ideals which is evident throughout his works. Dante s mother had died when Dante was very
young. At just 12 years old, Dante had his marriage arranged with a woman who was a family
friend named Gemma Donati. The couple got married sometime around 1285, but there was just
one problem. Dante had proceeded to fall in love with another woman Beatrice Portinari, who
would become a huge significance to his life and especially his work, she was very influential to
him. Dante later went on and composed The New Life (La Vita Nuovo) using Beatrice as an ideal.
After the unexpected death of Beatrice, Dante became quite intrigued in studying philosophy and

Looking at Skyy s Vodka Advetisement
When looking at Skyy s vodka advertisement, they had encoded many types of meanings in their
advertisement to appeal customers into buying their products. You first see a woman dressed up all
in black holding a martini shaker while a man is sitting in a round chair holding a martini glass.
You can only see the man s hand and legs which creates a mysterious look with the combination of
the setting being night time. The second thing you would see is the actual product in the corner of
the ad because of the contrast of the dark bottle and the white table and chair. The white man sitting
in the big round chair without his face reduces the attention of him which brings more attention
towards the woman. The man without the face could represent that you could be the person who
is sitting there and be treated like a king by the women serving you vodka in a seductive way.
This would bring attention to male customers who are looking at the ad and they can decode the
message of buying this vodka would get you a sexy woman serving you in a luxurious suite
alone. The attractive woman is the core concept to appeal to customers by the placement and size
being almost the whole print ad. The lighting towards the women enhances the woman s curves,
breasts and a smooth silky skin. The position of the woman shows a seductive approach to the man

Gambling Is An Intriguing Human Activity
Gambling is an intriguing human activity. It changes individuals in many ways and continues to
develop increasingly since gambling was introduced. Gambling has been a form of
entertainment for many more years than it seems. During the year of 1497, John Cabot found a

forms of gambling to become legal. Since then, the growth and significance has highly
increased, it has even transformed into a popular pastime. ( Gambling 101 ) In 1989, Winnipeg
was the first province in Canada to have a permanent casino ( Gambling 101 ). Within a small

Argumentative Essay On Kennewick Man
The historic discovery of Kennewick Man in Kennewick, Washington, caused a great deal of
controversy on whether to use the skull for scientific purposes or to simply return him back to the
local tribes for reburial. At first, when Kennewick Man was first discovered in 1996, scientific
testing failed to determine the specific tribe that the man belonged to. In spite of the argument one
could make that it was unethical to keep the skull since it has to belong to one of the Native
American tribes, until a specific tribe was discovered as Kennewick Mans ancestors, I feel as if it
was perfectly liable to keep the skull for scientific use. However, Kennewick Man eventually was
determined to be affiliated with the Colville tribe, therefore at... Show more content on

By having requirements to return archaeological findings back to their native tribes entirely,
archaeologists are limited in their discoveries and possibly their job. An archaeological
discovery is meaningless if it never experiences any practical investigation on whether its
characteristics benefit society. For this reason, archaeologists should own the right to keep
critically important parts of Kennewick Man s skull such as his teeth, but return the rest of the
skull to the Colville tribe and find an equal compromise. DNA testing should be the first step in
deriving information from an archaeological discovery such as a skull, but NAGPRA should give
archaeologists the right to keep the most important parts of discoveries for scientific use and then
return the remaining parts to the native tribe. In the long run, scientific progress is prevented
whenever conflicts emerge over the ownership of archaeological discoveries, therefore Native
American tribes should have the courtesy to allow archaeologists to use only specific parts of a
specimen and have the remaining parts returned to them if DNA testing comes back positive in
relation to their

Early in 2005, IBM Business Consulting Services released a survey that compiled in depth
interviews with more than 100 sales, marketing, and merchandising executives at over 20 consumer
products and retail companies. Only 9 percent of the retailers felt their suppliers had a good
understanding of their business objectives. The gist of the survey was that retailers felt the product
manufacturers have focused their efforts on the end users of the products (the consumers), without
giving as much priority to the needs of the other members of their distribution channels namely, the
retailers to whom they sell.1

These distinctions between various types of stores will be important as we discuss their
participation in certain distribution channels.
Wholesalers
Wholesalers are intermediaries or middlemen who buy products from manufacturers and resell
them to the retailers. They take the same types of financial risks as retailers, since they purchase
the products (thereby taking legal responsibility for them), keep them in inventory until they are
resold to retailers, and may arrange for shipment to those retailers. Wholesalers can gather product
from around a country or region, or can buy foreign product lines by becoming importers. The term
wholesale is often used to describe discount retailers (as in
wholesale clubs ), but discounters are retailers, not technically wholesalers.
And in B2B channels, wholesalers may be called distributors.
Agents and Brokers
Agents (sometimes called brokers) are also intermediaries who work between suppliers and
retailers (or in B2B channels), but their agreements are different, in that they do not take ownership
of the products they sell. They are independent sales representatives who typically work on
commission based
Participants in the Distribution Channel 33 on sales volume, and they can sell to wholesalers as
well as retailers. In B2B arrangements, this means they sell to distributors and end users.
Resident sales agents are good examples in retail. They reside in the country to which they sell
products,

In society, people often look up to our government to provide honourable and righteous justice that
upholds our basic human rights .Through the analysis of dystopian texts including 1984 written by
George Orwell, Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, and the film V for Vendetta directed by
James Mcteigue, the concept of a totalitarian government that exerts control over to the senses is
explored throughout all these texts. The stripping of privacy and freedom demonstrates this control
over the mass of society. The demonization of the enemy through propaganda creates fear in society
of the enemy thus allowing the government to sustain control. Finally, law enforcing bodies help in

This demonstrates Winston s anxiety and fear of being observed by the thought police. The
government creates an environment where its citizens understand that the slightest demonstration
of rebellion which could be as small as a nervous tic or an unconscious look of anxiety that could
lead to the vaporization of an individual. The angst of looking anything but in complete
admiration of Big Brother leads citizens into a state of constant panic of watching what they do.
The government uses this to control their people however they decide as a result of nobody being
able to rebel the lack of privacy or freedom that the government provides. Similarly, the use of
handicaps in Harrison Bergeron written by Kurt VonnegutJr, suppresses individual citizens which
allows the government the ability to enforce absolute control among its citizens. Handicaps are
used by the government to suppress any physical or mental trait of a person that is above average.
In the case of George Bergeron, his Intelligence was way above normal [so he is given] a little

plan with their physician, while others with more debilitating symptoms may find medication vital.
I believe with medication it is important to keep going to therapy in that it helps one build a better
plan for oneself and understanding their disorder more. Rather than taking medication and
experiencing side effects you have never experienced before, or complications with one s
medication, frequent therapy visits can monitor these effects and take precautions. Combining
therapy and medication leads to success in that it monitors one s medication and side effects,
educates the individual on their medication and disorder, and helps build one a beneficial plan to

Clear Explainations of Visual Graphical Data in The Visual...
There are so many books written by well known professors and writers that are filled with
information about many things we do not know. I choose to read The Visual Display of
Quantitative Information by Edward Tufte because I found it really interesting. The first factor
that makes me want to read this book was the history behind writing this book. The writer stated
in introduction part that the primary focus of the book was to teach statistics of few journalists
who were interested in learning Economic concepts in the year of 1975 A.D which gave me a
general idea that the book was written for novices, which means that the information provided
will be clear, understandable and it will contain a lots of examples to make it clear. Being a
finance major, I had and will have situations where I have to use visual display of data many
times, but I never got to go back and check the history how they were originated, how the use of
them transformed during the era of timeand how the development of the visual display has
impacted in the modern business world. This book provided me a chance, which no other books I
have read, to see the significance of visual data, which was mostly introduced and developed from
1750 1800.
The book was also really helpful in clarifying the terms and applications we studied in the
classroom. Since I took a 8 week class, we could only cover so much and this book helped me to

Design And Hermeneutic Phenomenology Research Paradigm Has...
10.4.5 Critique
The critique of this model derives principally from the criticisms that can be levelled at the research
methodology, particularly its non positivist approach, although a rationale for the single case study
design and hermeneutic phenomenology research paradigm has been made above (Ch 5,6).
Within its own epistemological terms a legitimate criticism of such a model of management might
derive more generally from its potential irrefutability, following Popper s criticism of the
pseudosciences , where a counter example is re interpreted within the frame of the model so as not
to contradict it, for example a non charismatic leader s behaviour might be reinterpreted as having
elements of the charismatic process, although they not being obvious.
A second critique might be made building on the assumption that managerial effectiveness within
an organisation in predicated on their ability to lead, mobilise and direct subordinates. As a result,
it might be argued that the model covers a very small element of the overall leadership and
management process, focussing exclusively on the manager s activity and leadership with their
own subordinate team, and missing the larger organisational function of the leader, their
entrepreneurial activity, and engagement with supraordinate managers. This is an acknowledged
failing, based upon Parson s collectivist notion of power (@@@@ above), and there are some
speculations and proposals for further research noted below.

Consumer And Consumer Self Identity
1.0Introduction
Consumer researchers have recognized that people consume in ways that are consistent with
their sense of self (Sirgy, 1982). Consumption is not only a tool to obtain the value of goods and
display social status, but also is closely related to self identity. In the consumer culture, customers
no longer just shop because of their needs. The desire of individual s self development and self
taught continue to stimulate the consumption. People change themselves as much as possible by
buying new goods. In answer to the problem what kind of person he is , people not only judge
other people according to a virtue or quality of the individual, but tend to be based on personal
lifestyle or behavior consistent with specific groups. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important for marketers to understand the concept and dynamics of self, the meaning of goods
then they could use this link to advert better (Elliott Wattanasuwan, 1998).
3.0 The importance of advertising
In the increasingly competitive market, people pay more attention to the development of brand
image. Meenaghan (1995) stated that advertising is considered to be an important marketing tool. It
informs consumers of the product information and it is a popular and effective way to
communicate with their customers. Companies could attract target groups through advertising.
Advertising are largely based on defining the desires and dreams of the consumers so it do not
attempt to manipulate consumers, but rather the symbolic meanings which are attached to the
products. When a company launches advertising, its goal is to promote consumption and increase
market sales. Abideen and Saleem (2011) stated that advertising promotes product awareness in the
minds of all the potential and target consumers and as such playing a huge role in influencing the
consumer purchasing decision. Therefore, many companies choose to make the advertising to
attract the customers. These companies also use consumer s self identity concept to advert and let
the customers know the products could satisfy their self identity. There are three different
advertisements below.

Deviance From Sociological Perspective
Deviance according to sociologist is the behavior the one part takes in the that is not the norm,
and can generate a negative reaction from certain groups. From a sociological perspective
deviance is important because it reveals about the society we live in. Deviance requires us to
examine and analyze why certain people and even certain groups chose to partake in a certain
manor. By examining deviancent behavior we also recognize what the norm is. Labeling theory
through a deviant approach states that deviance is caused by others people s judgment of them,
meaning that when a label is put on us more than often we tend conform to label. For example if

I knew that people copied each other s test answers was quite a common thing, from what I ve
heard more and more people are buying assets now. I found out about this because my friend told
me that his buddies were buying codes online to turn in for their computer science classes. I
believe that more and more people are resorting to cheating because of all the pressure placed on
them from their parents. Professor, and even the school. All that pressure placed on them
eventually leads them to try new things that they normally would do to alleviate some of that
pressure. If more than half of the students confesses to some sort of academic dishonesty then it
would be a question of morality whether or not cheating would still be classified as deviant. It
would be classified as deviant in the sense that cheating is wrong and one should not partake in
it. But it can also be classified as non deviant because so many people have cheated that it
became the norm, and deviance is only behavior that is not the norm. In that sense it wouldn t be
deviane. Personally I believe that even more than half of the students have confessed to cheating
we should still deem it as deviant behavior because if we don t then more people will have an

Difference between the Melting Pot and Salad Bowl Theories
The melting pot culture refers to people from various cultures coming together to create a new
unique culture. (Lorenzo, 2000) In other words, these cultures have melted together in a pot . For
example, Chinese, Koreans, Germans and more cultures blended in together to create a whole new
American culture. They are not Chinese Americans, Korean Americans or German Americans
anymore but just Americans. On the other hand, salad bowl culture refers to immigrants who do
not lose the aspects of their cultures. . (Lorenzo, 2000) To put it in another way, you can still
clearly see the different ingredients in a salad bowl . As a contrast to the melting pottheory s
example, Chinese Americans, Korean Americans and German Americans will still keep the unique
traits of their cultures while living together in the country. America has been traditionally referred
to as a melting pot , but recently; there are people who argue that salad bowl will be a better

something is never good. But with a mix and match of both theories, it might suits today s society

languages while also studying the primary language. (Tititudoranceacom, 2015) Having a mix of
both theories will also be like immigrants can still practice their own respective cultures while also

Sacred Space Essay
Sacred space is one of the types of spatial condition being analyzed by Mircea Eliade s religious
journal. It is related to purification and can only be apprehended by a religious person.
According to Eliade, For a religious man, a space is not homogeneous as he experiences
interruption, breaks in it; some parts of space are qualitatively different from others (20). He also
believes that a person in a sacred space will ultimately reach a threshold that personify the frontier
which distinguishes and opposes the two worlds. In this essay, I will compare and contrast the
concept of sacred space in the biography of Maryam Binti Imran and Alice Kingsleigh. Miriam

She was tremendously dejected and withdrew herself from her family to avoid any
embarrassment. It was at a secret place in the East Jerusalem where Maryam seek refuge, that
she witnessed a hierophany, an irruption of the sacred that results in the detaching a territory
from the surrounding cosmic milieu and making it qualitatively different. Allah had sent her
Gabriel (the angel) in the form of a man. This occurrence is critical in Maryam s life because it
allows Maryam to communicate and express her sadness and perplexity to God. Miriam was
informed that she will give birth to a child named Isa (Jesus) and he will be among those who
will be blessed by God. She then underwent the pains of childbirth alone and retuned home
without speaking to anyone. Dissimilarly, Alice s experience of the sacred space reaches the
threshold twice in her life. Immediately after the very first time she crossed the boundary from
the rabbit hole, she was able to distinguish the sheer differences between the two worlds. Just like
the concept of threshold highlighted by Eliade, The spatial non homogeneity finds expression in

Tatiana s Sex Advice for All Creations by Olivia Hudson
Tatiana s Sex Advice for All Creations, by Olivia Hudson is not only informative, and interesting
but humorous and revealing. Throughout this book it explains why all creatures, not only humans,
are interested in their sex life. Sex itself, and the reproduction process is why certain breeds are
carried through century after century and others go extinct. Hudson has a way of explaining the
importance of performance, timing, technique, and interest when it comes to sex, and how all of
these concepts make a huge difference in those who have the opportunity to reproduce and those
who do not. She also discusses how important sex is to all creatures because without it, this world
would be nothing. My view on sex and biology changed completely after reading this book. It
shows an emphasis on the physical and mental reasons for things and a lot less on the biological
reasoning. It helped me understand that sex is more important them many really think.
Olivia Hudson graduated from Stanford University and received a Doctor of Philosophy from
Oxford University. She is a well known science writer who has won prices such as the Glaxo

Psychopathology Diagnostic Classification Systems ( Dsm )...
This paper agrees with the statement psychopathology diagnostic classification systems (such as
the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) or the International
Classification of Diseases (ICD)) are of little use to health professionals and patients because
behaviours are often misidentified and medicalised . To support this argument, this paper will
discuss the most important four main points that contribute to the subjective judgement of DSM
and the limitations in validity, reliability and utility of DSM: subjectivity of DSM,
medicalisation of psychiatric disorders, influence of pharmaceutical industry and cultural bias.
A concern of the DSM is that all diagnostic criteria in DSM are based on symptoms that are
largely subjective and descriptive as DSM does not provide lists of signs, as criteria for
diagnosis (Johnstone, 2008). Such subjectivity of DSM poses a challenge even for experienced
clinicians who use the DSM and ICD criteria and also cause diagnostic unreliability. It is argued
by Johnstone (2008) that psychiatric symptoms without signs cannot be evidence of a particular
condition. The How Mad Are You? video by Liddell Jay (2008) supports the claim that the
subjectivity of DSM criteria creates low reliability and validity for a majority of the patients. In
this video, there were ten volunteers who participated in this study, of which five had a history of
psychiatric disorders and five with no history of psychiatric disorders. A

Creativity
Who is a creative individual? What are the acceptable limits under which she or he can exhibit
and practice creativity? Is creativity a moral or amoral concept? A creative individual is one who is
able to adapt to everyday challenges through ingenious ideas and focused actions. As a specie, we
are where we are today because of everyday creativity, not necessarily due to big ideas alone. Of
the countless art forms and practices that have been created, cuisines, fashions, architecture,
healthcare, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, fisheries etc., few were eminently created.
Everyday Joe Blow creates majority of art forms and practices that affects our day to day living.
Csikszentmihalyi (1996) asserted that creativity is not merely new and valuable ideas or actions.
There has to be a form of sociocultural evaluation for new ideas and actions to be deemed creative,
and measured against acceptable standards with the field (1996). I contend with Csikszentmihalyi
assertion because it subjects the works of the creative individual to peer review; more importantly
to their approval. Notwithstanding my reservation, one thing is clear sociocultural evaluation (or
peer review and approval), is important because it sets parameters or socially acceptable limits for
the practice of creativity.

We were going canoeing. I was giddy with excitement. The entire day had been filled with
exhilarating fun, and to top it all off, canoeing! I admit, being at a two day camp with my fifth

impatience from my father. I always tell her: That s preposterous! Impatience isn t a genetic

waited on my bed. Eventually, we got to the lake. We were the third group there; there were
already a smattering of people chatting and laughing as they lingered on the docks. Our cabin,
which consisted of six girls, joined them, waiting for the instructors to arrive. The lake was
brilliant, its aquamarine water scintillating in the warm light. The cool breeze, tickling the back of
my ears, created slight ripples in the translucent water. I kneeled on the dock, running my fingers
through the clear, shallow liquid. The cold water sent a pleasant tingling up my arm. Below the
water I could see piles of smooth, glistening stones. The sound of a rushing waterfall in the distance
filled my ears. We had visited it the day before it was stunning, awe inspiring. Engulfing the sound

Those suffering from ADHD exhibited over a period of six months, six of nine behavior patterns

The Relevance Of An Organization
An organization is a group of individuals with a specific purpose, normally a business, association
or society. Knowledge refers to truth, data, and expertise that an individual gets through education
or experiences; the practical or theoretical understanding of a discipline. In other terms, knowledge
refers to the familiarity or awareness gained through experience of a situation or a fact. This paper
is going to give a brief documentation regarding the relevance that knowledgehas in an organization.
According to Popsa and Nicula, knowledge is directly proportional to the competence of
employees working in a firm. It is, therefore, true to say that the more knowledge employers have
they will try to ingrain in their workers minds, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The progression of knowledge within any given organization, be it in the production of goods or
the issuance of services to customers, is the most thought provoking element in business. Herein,
the comprehension of knowledge in an organization is considered by different measures of any
projects being undertaken. More so, this is achieved through clarification with regard to
consultation and development measures within the organization. These are very direct initiatives
geared towards the promotion of knowledge realization in a firm. There is also a need for
employers, in the quest of making their employees knowledgeable, to train, counsel and encourage
employees to conduct detailed research on their roles. It plays a significant role towards employee
attainment of knowledge. All the same, the associated processes are usually indirect. For instance,
the training of employees in an organization is not a guarantee that whatever is learned will be
applied. For knowledge based organizations, it is paramount for managers to bear in mind that
promotion towards knowledge realization is charted through the classification of implemented
projects and assigned tasks. Significant thematic issues, like development of learning at the
workplace, are

Synthesis And Characterisation Processes Of Pharmaceutical...
INTRODUCTION: The pharmaceutical industry has long been trying to improve the effectiveness
of certain drugs it would like to introduce and mass produce. The concept behind many of these
drugs is sound; however, they appear to fall short when it comes to some of their chemical
properties. These properties, including solubility, stability, intrinsic dissolution and bioavailability,
affect the extent to which the body can utilize the drugeffectively, and it is thus vital that drugs are
developed to have a maximum effect on an individual after administration. This is where
pharmaceutical co crystals are the potential key to advancing drastically the design of drugs by
enhancing their bioavailability and solubility. There has been a growing interest in the design of
pharmaceutical co crystals over the past decade and this is only going to escalate as the focus is
shifted to designing, synthesising and characterising better and more improved crystalline
structures. This report aims to examine and compare several methods in the design, synthesis and
characterisation processes of pharmaceutical co crystals in addition to providing examples of the
effectiveness of these co crystals in pharmaceutics.
WHAT ARE PHARMACEUTICAL CO CRYSTALS?
It is important first to define a co crystal, although there has been a large debate on what actually
constitutes a co crystal.1 A co crystal is, in essence, a mixed crystal or a crystal that contains two
different molecules.2 It is a solid,

Essay on Puritans in New England
Puritans in New England
Raised during the aftermath of the fall of the Spanish Armada to England, the Puritan generation
they were children and grandchildren of the Protestant Reformation in Europe. An idealistic
generation of the Colonial Cycle, the Puritans came to America seeking freedom, to practice
religion in a manner different than that of the English. Puritans regarded New England as a place to
establish a visible kingdom of God, a society where outward conduct would be according to God s
laws. Puritanism is defined by #8230;: the intensity of the Puritan s commitment to a morality, a
form of worship, and a civil society strictly conforming to God s commandments. ...[in colonial

Puritanism became a way of life and a way of religion.
The severe restrictions and demands of the Puritan religion can be viewed as their weakness.
Masses were forced to follow the rigorous demands of their religion. There was no room for
religious freedom or tolerance. Examples of their strict enforcement of values upon the general
public follow:
#61623; May 24, 1610, Jamestown:
Sir Thomas Gates institutes Laws Divine, Morall and Martial , a harsh, religion based civil code
#61623; 1618, Jamestown:
Governor decrees that those who miss church will be jailed lying neck and heels in the Corps of
Gard ye night following and be a slave ye week following
#61623; August 14, 1619, Jamestown:
The first general assembly (the House of Burgesses) passes in six days a series of harsh laws,
including ones making the wearing of excessive apparel illegal and requiring attendance at two
church services every Sunday. (Encyclopedia Britannica)
These pressures placed upon the people by strict religious practices led them to take a stand in a
direction that helped found today s society and values. Puritanism was carried into our form of
civil government. The First Great Awakening (1730s 1770s) produced a general discussion of the
principles of freedom and human rights, the habit of contending for rights with religious zeal, and
the preparation of the mind for all questions pertaining to civil government

Pros And Cons Of Cameras On Police Officer
The Pros and Cons of Cameras on Police Officer s
In this day in age, technology has a big influence on people lives and one of these influences is
the use of recording videos. Going on the internet you can find any type of video and stream it,
which can be good for a learning experience, but it also could have a negative experience as well.
This is no different for police with body worn cameras, since there is always will be pros and
cons when dealing with devices like video cameras. As technology grows so does the idea of using
the technology in the law enforcement field. There are many pros to having cameras, some of these
would be to minimize complaints, false accusations increases ... Show more content on

In this years time frame, the study found that citizens complaints went for .07 per thousand contacts
without the use of cameras to 0.07 per thousand contacts with the use of cameras (Ariel, Farrar,
Sutherland, 2015). The study shows that police worn body cameras can be a good solution to a
growing problem of citizens complaints.
False Accusations Increase Accountability
One of the ideas behind the cameras is to help with false accusations made against law
enforcement. A problem that police deal with is the accusations that police stick together,
therefore it is the perception that law enforcement will not go against another officer s word. No
one is perfect, therefore I am sure that this has happened before, although the idea of the camera
is to show the public that no one is above the law. Implementing these cameras will help by
adopting an objective, transparent monitoring system that allows us to defend those unjustly
accused and correct or punish those caught abusing their power, we can prove to the public we
believe no person should be above the law, particularly those sworn to uphold it (New York Times,
2013). This will put more pressure on the police officer, but at the same time it will increase their
accountability by making them more aware of their surroundings when a situation may occur.
Provide Valuable Evidence Another important factor in the police worn camera is the valuable
evidence that is provided

Children Growing Up Too Fast
In today s society, parents are challenged with the ability of children to grow faster than ever
before. Tweens are moving closer and closer to teens, and fulfill these adult like roles. The media
plays a major part in this dilemma, along with the need to fulfill major responsibilities, and the
lack of family presence. The media is one of the biggest proprietors when discussing the state that
our children are in, and why they re unable to play children roles. It s not hard for a childto get
access to the television set and see the influential things that the media may disclose. Ideas that are
shown on TV now, are very misleading and inappropriate, even on children s channels. Nickelodeon
shows are very mature sit coms that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today s society is filled with a lot of pressure among our young people. They re a lot more bold,
and liberal which causes a lot of influence and problems. For an example, it s almost rare to go to
middle school, and not be exposed to drugs, sex, and violence. Drugs are used to experiment, and
in most cases, it becomes a bad habit as young as 15 years old. Kids are taught that it s cool if
you go against authority, and do the complete opposite. Tweens are more sexually active than
before, that it s almost abnormal to be a virgin at age 14. Most boys lose their virginity before 15
years old, and the percentage among young girls have increased over the years. It soon becomes
un cool to be a virgin, and they re forced into peer pressure to have sex and lose their childhood.
Young men usually lose it before young girls, so most of the time, it s the young men who are
pressuring the girls to conform. Most young boys don t think of oral sex to be actual sex, they just
write it off as fooling around. In that case, they feel it s okay to do it, and girls are more prone to
take part in it, because in their eyes, it s not the real thing. I can remember as far back to 6th grade,
my best friend was 11, and she was pregnant. Her family was actually proud that she was having a
baby, while my family no longer allowed me to be friends with her. Families are a big factor when

Contrary to Coca Cola executives beliefs, the Pepsi Challenge didn t necessarily prove that
people preferred Pepsi to Coke; it just suggested that, when blindfolded, people preferred a small
amount of Pepsi to the same amount of Coke. Louis Cheskin s success as an advertiser is
notable because it proves that people don t always know what they want; they have to be told. In
the case of margarine, for instance, people weren t consciously aware that they would respond to
margarine wrapped in attractive gold foil it wasn t until Cheskin released margarine of this kind
that people discovered their attraction to such a product. It s also important to notice that Cheskin
didn t change the taste of margarine; rather, he only altered the product s presentation. Good
packaging can be very important because it catches customers eyes and convinces them that the
product itself is good, too. Cheskin s research into marketing and packaging has been very
influential, inspiring hundreds of companies to revamp their products. Once a new package or
advertisement is proven to be successful, many other companies will try to imitate that package or
ad hence the sudden popularity of semi realistic food

The Dictator Is A Film Based Around A North African Dictator
The Dictator is a film based around a North African dictator, General Aladeen, as he goes to New
York to meet with the United Nations. This movie contains many of the similar stereotypes and
racism that could be found in America today. In some ways The Dictator helps viewers to realize
the outrageousness of their sexism and racism; however, for most that realization is completely
lost behind their laughter and their preconceived ethnic stereotypes. Firstly, the movie begins by
giving a background on General Aladeen the dictator in Wadiya, then it shows him present day
making a speech to his adoring citizens where he announces that they will soon have weapon
grade uranium. After the speech the UN decide to give him an ultimatum, either he addresses
the United Nations in New York or they will release NATO air strikes against Wadiya. He
decides to go to New York, meanwhile his Uncle is plotting to kill him and replace him with his
impressionable doppelganger. After arriving in New York he meets a special agent who later
attempts to kill Aladeen upon his uncle s request. After his trademarked beard is cut off, and he
escapes potential assassination, he finds himself in the middle of a protest against himself.
Aladeen sees on TV that his double has announced to the UN that Wadiya will be a democracy.
He is outraged but Zoey, a protesting vegan feminist, just thinks he is a passionate protester and
offers him a job. Later he sees his old bomb builder and follows him to a

At first, when Kennewick Man was first discovered in 1996, scientific testing failed to determine the specific tribe that the man belonged to. In spite of the argument one could make that it was unethical to keep the skull since it has to belong to one of the Native American tribes, until a specific tribe was discovered as Kennewick Mans ancestors, I feel as if it was perfectly liable to keep the skull for scientific use. However, Kennewick Man eventually was determined to be affiliated with the Colville tribe, therefore at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By having requirements to return archaeological findings back to their native tribes entirely, archaeologists are limited in their discoveries and possibly their job. An archaeological discovery is meaningless if it never experiences any practical investigation on whether its characteristics benefit society. For this reason, archaeologists should own the right to keep critically important parts of Kennewick Man s skull such as his teeth, but return the rest of the skull to the Colville tribe and find an equal compromise. DNA testing should be the first step in deriving information from an archaeological discovery such as a skull, but NAGPRA should give archaeologists the right to keep the most important parts of discoveries for scientific use and then return the remaining parts to the native tribe. In the long run, scientific progress is prevented whenever conflicts emerge over the ownership of archaeological discoveries, therefore Native American tribes should have the courtesy to allow archaeologists to use only specific parts of a specimen and have the remaining parts returned to them if DNA testing comes back positive in relation to their ... Only 9 percent of the retailers felt their suppliers had a good understanding of their business objectives. The gist of the survey was that retailers felt the product manufacturers have focused their efforts on the end users of the products (the consumers), without giving as much priority to the needs of the other members of their distribution channels namely, the retailers to whom they sell.1 COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL There are several types of participants that ... The first factor that makes me want to read this book was the history behind writing this book. The writer stated in introduction part that the primary focus of the book was to teach statistics of few journalists who were interested in learning Economic concepts in the year of 1975 A.D which gave me a general idea that the book was written for novices, which means that the information provided will be clear, understandable and it will contain a lots of examples to make it clear. Within its own epistemological terms a legitimate criticism of such a model of management might derive more generally from its potential irrefutability, following Popper s criticism of the pseudosciences , where a counter example is re interpreted within the frame of the model so as not to contradict it, for example a non charismatic leader s behaviour might be reinterpreted as having elements of the charismatic process, although they not being obvious. A second critique might be made building on the assumption that managerial effectiveness within an organisation in predicated on their ability to lead, mobilise and direct subordinates. As a result, it might be argued that the model covers a very small element of the overall leadership and management process, focussing exclusively on the manager s activity and leadership with their own subordinate team, and missing the larger organisational function of the leader, their entrepreneurial activity, and engagement with supraordinate managers. This is an acknowledged failing, based upon Parson s collectivist notion of power (@@@@ above), and there are some speculations and proposals for further research noted below. ... He also believes that a person in a sacred space will ultimately reach a threshold that personify the frontier which distinguishes and opposes the two worlds. Allah had sent her Gabriel (the angel) in the form of a man. This occurrence is critical in Maryam s life because it allows Maryam to communicate and express her sadness and perplexity to God. This paper agrees with the statement psychopathology diagnostic classification systems (such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) or the International Classification of Diseases (ICD)) are of little use to health professionals and patients because behaviours are often misidentified and medicalised . To support this argument, this paper will discuss the most important four main points that contribute to the subjective judgement of DSM and the limitations in validity, reliability and utility of DSM: subjectivity of DSM, medicalisation of psychiatric disorders, influence of pharmaceutical industry and cultural bias. A concern of the DSM is that all diagnostic criteria in DSM are based on symptoms that are largely subjective and descriptive as DSM does not provide lists of signs, as criteria for diagnosis (Johnstone, 2008). Such subjectivity of DSM poses a challenge even for experienced clinicians who use the DSM and ICD criteria and also cause diagnostic unreliability. It is argued by Johnstone (2008) that psychiatric symptoms without signs cannot be evidence of a particular condition. The How Mad Are You? video by Liddell Jay (2008) supports the claim that the subjectivity of DSM criteria creates low reliability and validity for a majority of the patients. In this video, there were ten volunteers who participated in this study, of which five had a history of psychiatric disorders and five with no history of psychiatric disorders. A ... What are the acceptable limits under which she or he can exhibit and practice creativity? Is creativity a moral or amoral concept? A creative individual is one who is able to adapt to everyday challenges through ingenious ideas and focused actions. As a specie, we are where we are today because of everyday creativity, not necessarily due to big ideas alone. Of the countless art forms and practices that have been created, cuisines, fashions, architecture, healthcare, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, fisheries etc., few were eminently created. Everyday Joe Blow creates majority of art forms and practices that affects our day to day living. Csikszentmihalyi (1996) asserted that creativity is not merely new and valuable ideas or actions. There has to be a form of sociocultural evaluation for new ideas and actions to be deemed creative, and measured against acceptable standards with the field (1996). I contend with Csikszentmihalyi assertion because it subjects the works of the creative individual to peer review; more importantly to their approval. These properties, including solubility, stability, intrinsic dissolution and bioavailability, affect the extent to which the body can utilize the drugeffectively, and it is thus vital that drugs are developed to have a maximum effect on an individual after administration. This is where pharmaceutical co crystals are the potential key to advancing drastically the design of drugs by enhancing their bioavailability and solubility. There has been a growing interest in the design of pharmaceutical co crystals over the past decade and this is only going to escalate as the focus is shifted to designing, synthesising and characterising better and more improved crystalline structures. This report aims to examine and compare several methods in the design, synthesis and characterisation processes of pharmaceutical co crystals in addition to providing examples of the effectiveness of these co crystals in pharmaceutics. WHAT ARE PHARMACEUTICAL CO CRYSTALS? It is important first to define a co crystal, although there has been a large debate on what actually constitutes a co crystal.1 A co crystal is, in essence, a mixed crystal or a crystal that contains two different molecules.2 It is a solid, ... In this years time frame, the study found that citizens complaints went for .07 per thousand contacts without the use of cameras to 0.07 per thousand contacts with the use of cameras (Ariel, Farrar, Sutherland, 2015). The study shows that police worn body cameras can be a good solution to a growing problem of citizens complaints. False Accusations Increase Accountability One of the ideas behind the cameras is to help with false accusations made against law enforcement. A problem that police deal with is the accusations that police stick together, therefore it is the perception that law enforcement will not go against another officer s word. No one is perfect, therefore I am sure that this has happened before, although the idea of the camera is to show the public that no one is above the law. Implementing these cameras will help by adopting an objective, transparent monitoring system that allows us to defend those unjustly accused and correct or punish those caught abusing their power, we can prove to the public we believe no person should be above the law, particularly those sworn to uphold it (New York Times, 2013). This will put more pressure on the police officer, but at the same time it will increase their accountability by making them more aware of their surroundings when a situation may occur. For an example, it s almost rare to go to middle school, and not be exposed to drugs, sex, and violence. Drugs are used to experiment, and in most cases, it becomes a bad habit as young as 15 years old. Kids are taught that it s cool if you go against authority, and do the complete opposite. Tweens are more sexually active than before, that it s almost abnormal to be a virgin at age 14. Most boys lose their virginity before 15 years old, and the percentage among young girls have increased over the years. It soon becomes un cool to be a virgin, and they re forced into peer pressure to have sex and lose their childhood. Young men usually lose it before young girls, so most of the time, it s the young men who are pressuring the girls to conform. Most young boys don t think of oral sex to be actual sex, they just write it off as fooling around. In that case, they feel it s okay to do it, and girls are more prone to take part in it, because in their eyes, it s not the real thing. • 51. The Dictator Is A Film Based Around A North African Dictator The Dictator is a film based around a North African dictator, General Aladeen, as he goes to New York to meet with the United Nations. This movie contains many of the similar stereotypes and racism that could be found in America today. In some ways The Dictator helps viewers to realize the outrageousness of their sexism and racism; however, for most that realization is completely lost behind their laughter and their preconceived ethnic stereotypes. Firstly, the movie begins by giving a background on General Aladeen the dictator in Wadiya, then it shows him present day making a speech to his adoring citizens where he announces that they will soon have weapon grade uranium. After the speech the UN decide to give him an ultimatum, either he addresses the United Nations in New York or they will release NATO air strikes against Wadiya. He decides to go to New York, meanwhile his Uncle is plotting to kill him and replace him with his impressionable doppelganger. After arriving in New York he meets a special agent who later attempts to kill Aladeen upon his uncle s request. After his trademarked beard is cut off, and he escapes potential assassination, he finds himself in the middle of a protest against himself. Aladeen sees on TV that his double has announced to the UN that Wadiya will be a democracy. He is outraged but Zoey, a protesting vegan feminist, just thinks he is a passionate protester and offers him a job. Later he sees his old bomb builder and follows him to a ...
