I supervised a Species Conservation Status Review Project under the Abdou Salam Ouédraogo
Fellowship 2011 (01st November 2011 to 30th October 2012). This research followed the IUCN
Guidelines on Strategic Planning for Species Conservation. Research Topic: “Unraveling the
distribution and conservation status of Warburgia salutaris (Bertol.f.) Chiov.: a critically endangered
forest species in Swaziland.”

▪ A clear understanding of the series of Formal & Informal 2018 FAO Training Modules on the role of
forestry in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 2013 UNDP Targeted Scenario Analysis (TSA):
A robust Approach to capturing and presenting Ecosystem Services Values for Decision Making: The
product of a TSA is a balanced presentation of evidence, for a decision maker, that weighs up the
pros and cons of continuing with business as usual (BAU) or following a sustainable development
path in which ecosystems are more effectively managed. This alternate path is termed sustainable
ecosystem management (SEM). Post 2015: The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In-
depth knowledge and understanding of the IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles and/or
World Bank Safeguard Policies and IUCN Guidelines for Protected Areas Management and a Good
knowledge and understanding of the policies and standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). Over 18 years’ experience
in dealing with International Cooperating Partners including: IFAD, World Bank, EU, GIZ, GEF,

Executive Director (ED)
Description The Executive Director is CCARDESA’s Chief Executive Officer with the prime responsibility of executing the decisions of CCARDESA’s Board of Directors. The Executive Director
reports to the Chairperson of CCARDESA Board of Directors. He manages the Secretariat staff, programmes, finances and assets according to procedures approved by the Board.
He ensures the preservation of CCARDESA’s corporate image and memory. Detailed functions: 1 As delegated by the CCARDESA Board, represents CCARDESA as its chief
administrative officer and legal representative. 2 Provides support to the CCARDESA Board as the chief technical spokesperson of CCARDESA on regional issues of agriculture in
SADC. 3 Provide leadership and manages the human, financial and physical resources of CCADESA. 4 Implement the decision of CCARDESA Board of Directors and the General
Assembly. 5 Draft CARDESA’s annual work-plans, budgets, annual technical and financial reports for presentation and approval by the CCARDESA Board. 6 Articulate new
proposals and initiatives for funding by SADC Member States, private sector, agricultural NGOs, farmer organisations, development partners and other relevant stakeholders. 7
Ensure the effective and efficient operation of CCARDESA Secretariat, Strategic Planning and Business Planning (i) Leads development and implementation of long and short range
plans for CCARDESA; (ii) Directs the implementation of policies set by the Board of Directors; (iii) Leads the development and supervises the implementation CARDESA’s Business
Plan, Operational Plan and Strategic Plan. 8 Establish appropriate mechanisms for the monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of CCARDESA programme activities. 9 Appoint
regionally recruited staff required for the operation of the CCARDESA Secretariat in consultation with the Board. 10 Recruit, select and appoint local staff required for the operations

Description The Chief Executive Officer is particularly responsible for the following Key Performance Areas, as well as other duties that may be required: To take instructions from and to report to

high standard of service delivery; To effectively manage the human resources of the organisation according to authorised personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to
current laws and regulations; Promote a harmonious labour environment; Ensure that effective communications and liaison are undertaken between the ENTC and the Ministry of
Tourism and Environmental Affairs, the ENTC Board and other key stakeholders; Ensure the implementation of an effective quality standards programme of Nature Conservation and

Task 1: Critically review and analyse the Public forest administrations in climate
change work; including: (i) Type, scope/extent of climate change work done by public
forest administrations in the different geographic and forest regions.(ii) How different
players like government, youth, women, private sector, vulnerable groups feature in
these climate change programmes/plans, including constraints to their involvement. (iii)
Measures and incentives to increase their roles and active participation. (iv)
Approaches/ways to share equitably benefits arising from such collaboration. Task 2:
Critically review and analyse the state of, adequacy/gaps in, and measures to improve
capacities (human, financial and physical) of public forest administrations in climate
change work, and in particular as it relates to monitoring, reporting and verification
(MRV) and biodiversity safeguards. Final Deliverables: TWO SYNTHESIS
