24. When writing goals…
It should begin with a measurable action
verb
It should present a broader plan of action
for the learners (month or year)
It is accompanied with specific objectives
27. Purposes of Objectives
By knowing where you intend to go, you increase the
chances of you and the learner ending up there
Guides the teacher relative to the planning of
instruction, delivery of instruction and evaluation of
student achievement.
Guides the learner; helps him/her focus and set
priorities
Allows for analysis in terms of the levels of teaching
and learning
28. Purposes of Objectives
Additional purposes of objectives include:
Shows colleagues and students what we value.
Guide for the learner relative to self-assessment.
Basis for analyzing the level of cognitive thinking we are
expecting from the learner.
Makes teaching more focused and organized.
Provides models so that the students can write their own
objectives and thus helps develop an important life long
learning skill;“the setting
of objectives.”
42. Compare…
Which one is a SMART objective?
A. Identify which from the given
toys are fruits and vegetables
by sorting them into two groups
B. Know fruits from vegetables
given some plastic toys
44. Writing Goals
Direction: Write at least one goal for each
ECE Learning Standards:

45. Writing Objectives
Directions: From each learning goal, come up with three learning objectives. The first
objective should be under the Cognitive domain, the second will be Psychomotor and
the third, Affective Domain.
Example:
Learning Standard: Personal Health and Safety Skills
Learning Goal: Provide safety regulations for children inside the classroom
Learning Objectives:
Cognitive: Enumerate steps in the proper arranging of toys and school materials.
Psychomotor: Perform a role play on how to put toys and school materials back to
their containers.
