This document discusses the design and analysis of jet nozzles in laser cutting machines. It aims to determine the optimal material for the nozzle through thermal analysis. Three materials are considered: copper, nickel, and brass. A 3D model of the nozzle is created in Solidworks and thermal analysis is conducted in ANSYS to compare the temperature distribution and total heat flux of nozzles made from each material. The results show that a nozzle made from nickel has the highest heat transfer and is therefore the most suitable material, providing both high performance and cost-effectiveness.
