In 1990, Mexico approached the US with a trade agreement to improve the Mexican economy through
a bilateral agreement that would benefit both parties (Villarreal 1 3). Negotiations birthed the North
Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), in 1994, which included three countries Mexico, America,
and Canada. Since its inception, NAFTA has played an instrumental role in improving the economy of
its member states (Thompson 121). Using this agreement, Mexico aimed to attract foreign investments
and improve its economic performance in the same regard. For example, it strived to create new job
opportunities and find new markets for its products (Thompson 121). These needs emanated from a
period of economic slump that hit the Mexican economy in the 1980s and 1990s. These poor

I m also happy that my pessimistic predictions of this interview turning uneventful did not come true.
I think the interview was very natural and engaging. Also to my surprise, he treated me like an equal
where I felt that I can speak my mind and ask what I desired. From this interview, what I value the
most is the humility he showed to me. Even as a very successful lawyer, professor and researcher, he
looked at me as a peer. As the interviewer, I feel that I did a pretty good job driving the conversation.
There were moments when professor Wang went off on a tangent with stories that were irrelevant with
the topic and I could have done a better job controlling that. Compared to my classmate one to one, I
felt that this interview was richer in the sense that he has more life experience than both Josh and I
combined. Josh is a very young man so he still has a lot to experience and dabble before he knows
what he really wants in life. Unlike Josh, professor Wang has a rich life where he has gone through
many things and he has a strong sense of self and his desires. Because of these realities, I felt that my
conversation with professor Wang was more meaningful. If there is anything I wish I had done
differently, it would be the fact that we didn t talk long enough. I feel that I have lot to learn from him.

At the time of this statement, Cromwell was already dead so Winstanley did not to have to worry
about what he could do to him. In some ways, Winstanley is the well qualified to make a statement as

However he was also a well educated person and leader of the Liberal party so would possibly have a
more balanced point of view.
His statement was written two centuries after Cromwell and is based on historic evidence and his
ability to read books but not from first hand experience. This means he has other peoples biased
reports to read and these could change they way he thinks about Cromwell without it perhaps being
true.

California s prison system is facing a number of infrastructure changes as a result of a judicial
decision that came down from the United States Supreme Court, Governor of California et al v. Plata
et al. California s prison system was deemed inadequate and dangerous due to severe overcrowding
which led to needless suffering and death (Rogan, 2012, 262). The court ruled that the State must
reduce the number of inmates in California s thirty three state prisons. This ruling came about after
two class action lawsuits were filed, Coleman v. Wilson in 1990 and Plata v. Davis in 2001 (Rogan,
2012, 261). These lawsuits were filed by inmates that claimed they received poor medical and mental
health care within the State s prison health care system (Vicini, 2011,1). The evidence presented in
these cases showed several shortcomings in California s prison health care system (Rogan, 2012, 264).
These shortfalls were a result of severe overcrowding within California s thirty three state prisons. At
its peak in 2006, California s prisons were filled with approximately 172,000 inmates. However, these
prisons were designed to hold about 80,000 individuals (Vicini, 2011, 3). At that point, State prisons
were filled at 215% over capacity. Because of overcrowding, prison inmates faced chronic and severe
shortages in basic medical and mental health care services (Vicini, 2011, 1). Despite attempts by the
CDCR and the legislature to reduce the prison population between 2006 and 2011, the
