Symptoms And Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder Essay
Bipolar disorder is a major mood disorder that includes the cycling of two parts; acute mania and
bipolar depression. There are many factors that affect the onset of bipolar disorder, such as genetics,
environment, and dysfunction in the brain. Due to its two part nature, various drugs have been
used as antidepressants or antipsychotics. Unfortunately, not all drugs have the ability to target both
aspects of bipolar disorder. As of right now there are various pharmacotherapeutics for bipolar
disorder, but two of the most widely used are Lithium treatments or Selective Serotonin Reuptake
Inhibitors (SSRIs). These are some of the primary treatments for bipolar disorder and even more
pharmacotherapeutics and methods are being developed to ensure that patients are utilizing them
properly.
There are many psychotropic drugs that have been tested over the years. Some drugs with
therapeutic effects aimed at the mania aspect of bipolar or the depression aspect of the disorder.
Lithium, is one of the first drugs to be specifically used for individuals with bipolar disorder. When
taking this drug, a lithium ion is used to interact with the various neurons. The exact mechanism is
still being discovered, but according to a review, the candidate cellular targets of lithium appear to
be enzymes such as inositol phosphatases and glycogen synthase, (Li et al., 2011, p. 78). Further
studies have also included Lithium effects as, ...demonstrated efficacy in reducing both the

Henry Fleming In Red Badge Of Courage
Henry Fleming is a teenager with romantic notions about the glories of war. He enlists in the
Union army and quickly discovers sides of himself he never knew existed. The horrors, boredom,
and complete injustice of war bring out all of Henry s worst (and occasionally best) tendencies.
Initially, Henry fears that he will run like a coward when faced with his first battle. He s been in
the army for a while now but hasn t seen any action yet. Talking with the other men, he tries to
get them to admit that they are scared as well. No one wants to say as much; they all seem
perfect examples of fearless men, which leaves Henry feeling even worse about his own
apprehension. Shortly before his first battle, he sees his first dead body, a gruesome corpse.
Meanwhile we meet two men, Jim Conklin or the Tall Soldier whom Henry has known for years,
and Wilson or the Loud Soldier. Wilson, afraid that he will die in battle, gives Henry a packet of
letters to deliver to his family after the war. When the fighting finally starts, Henry doesn t do too
badly. However, when a second round of fighting begins after a brief lull, Henry is terrified and
heads for the hills. Afterwards, he tries to rationalize his decision (to himself) by claiming it was
simply a survival instinct. He oscillates between a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

between battles, he and Wilson overhear a general referring to their regiment as mule drivers and

prove himself. In the next battle, he and Wilson see the Union flag bearer fall. They rush forward,
take up the flag, and rally their comrades to fight. Afterwards, the superior officers praise this
courageous action. In the novel s final battle, Henry captures the Confederate flag as well and helps

The Components Of Lifecycle Of Network Security
The present era can be referred as a digital era as well, which has created various opportunities for
organizations to conduct business and deliver different services over the internet. The cyber
security is basically a practice that helps organizations minimize risks, helps the security operations
in an effective manner, provide authentication and access controlfor resources, guarantee availability
of resources and also helps to achieve regularity for enhancing own business network. The basic
components of the securityinclude; confidentiality (maintaining privacy of the data), integrity
(detecting the data is not tampered), authentication (establishing proof of identity, non repudiation
(ability to prove that the sender actually sent the data), availability (computer assets are available to
authorized parties when needed), and access control (access to information resources are regulated).
The problems of network security include:
increase in network attacks
increased sophistication of attacks
lack of awareness
lack of security policies
lack of proper laws.
The components of lifecycle of network security are plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize.
Information / Internet threats:
Internet threats are malicious software programs designed to target users when they are online.

60 s Persuasive Speech
I am writing to persuade you that the Musical Revolution was the most important movement of the
time, and shall be selected to commemorate the sixties perfectly.
Many say the sixties was the decade that vibrated the whole nation. The Musical revolution was a
movement that has made an impact of a life time on our society, even still does today. I have been
to many music events including Floyd Fest and Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, the festivals I
have attended have made me have a new appreciation for the art of music throughout history. Many
things must happen to make music, and even more steps must be taken for the music to be popular
and appreciated especially in the sixties.
Throughout the sixties many things were going on. In 1960, John F. Kennedy was elected and the
first weather satellite was introduced. In 1941, the Bay of Pigs invasion was committed and the
Peace Corps was created that fell into the sixties. The following year The Beatles released their first
single, Love Me Do , along with the first Wal Mart being opened. John F. Kennedy was
assassinated in 1963, along with Doctor Whos first showing on Television. In 64 , the Civil Rights
Act of 1964 was signed into law creating equality. Voting rights were given and signed in 65 , and
the escalation of the Vietnam War, and the design of the infamous mini... Show more content on

To be given the money for a monument to commemorate the Musical revolution of the sixties
would be a legacy in itself. The era of the 60s have had a huge impact on our world of music

possible. I admire your accomplishments and achievements to our world up until this day, and

Essay Marketsoft Harvard- Case Study
Market Soft Case study
Situation:
MarketSoft founded by Greg Erman, in 1999 had designed an innovative software product that
addressed the problem of managing sales leads across the extended enterprise . The product
eLeads was strategically developed upon extensive research to address three critical areas many of
the fortune 1000 companies in the modern times are facing: 1.Leads get lost 2. No qualifying
systems for the leads exist and 3.The leads are never tracked.
Problems:
1. The entire product was built based on customer needs that were identified by querying an
extensive network of sales and marketing industry professionals. While MarketSoft used an
elaborate LP language to ensure that what they heard translated to all of ... Show more content on

The obvious benefit of targeting this particular blue chip market segment as addressed in the
second problem could be both monetary and that a greater number of market leads can be fed into
the software when mining a larger market and could lead to minimization of the confidence
interval error ratio. However mid size markets and companies who are players in this segment
should not be ignored. The problem in ignoring them is that MarketSoft is leaving a large segment
of the market unattended and these mid level companies have a potential to grow into larger
corporations. By ignoring this market segment MarketSoft will essentially have lost an opportunity
to have developed a future clientele base
Recommendation:
Problem 1 can be addressed by following the open ended questions with specific targeted questions
that would allow focused answering, leading to better data mining which will help zero in on
exactly what the need is and ultimately help refine the product characteristics with more finesse.
A suitable recommendation to address the second problem is that these middle markets should also
be targeted and the software should be refined to cater to these current needs with an ability to
expand along with the client s business needs. To make MarketSoft accessible to also companies that

Why A Raccoon Would Eat A Sugar Cube
Truthfully speaking, this statement is amongst the strangest and most knowledgeable sentences
I have ever heard or read. I know very little about nature, wildlife, and animals diets, so when I
first read the sentence, I found myself utterly puzzled. I asked myself why a raccoon would eat a
sugar cube and why someone would give it a sugar cube, but I quickly realized the statement was
probably hypothetical. That was until I read the remainder of the article. Turns out that often times
raccoons wash their food before consumption. Who would have ever known? I surely did not;
however, in spite of the sentence s eccentricity, I discovered a new fact. I suppose that is what
reading is supposed to be about: learningnew things, expanding language

Examples Of Chaos And Complexity Theory
D. What are chaos and complexity theories? how might they help us do better sociology, or at least
help us have more realistic understanding of what is possible in sociology? Chaos theory can be
seen in the butterfly effect, where a small little butterfly in the States that flaps its wings and
changes the weather somewhere far away like China. The butterfly effectshows that small changes
can have massive impacts in the world. For most people it is hard for them to think that a butterfly
has so much influence, there are many other examples. Chaos can be seen in this example, where
someone forgets their car keys and runs back to get them, which results in them not hitting the deer
on the road (Gleick 1987). Complexitytheory states that structures are complex but that there is
some form of general rules. Complexity theory is a part of chaos theorywhich is shown in the quote,
chaos theory and its spin off, complexity theory, argue that relationships in complex systems, like
organizations, are nonlinear, made of interconnections and branching choices that produce
unintended consequences and render the universe unpredictable, (Tetenbaum 1998:1). Chaos and
complexity theory can influence sociologist to go back and study system that were previously
untouched. An example of chaos and complexity theory is the economy. The economy is very
complex with many moving parts and actors. The economy is filled with people selling and buying
goods at fast rates. These moving parts are

The History of Rock and Roll Music Essay
The 1960s were the classic age of rock music. The main sub genres were defined in the 1960s.
The paradigm of rock music as the alternative to commercial pop music was established in the
1960s. Wild experimentation alloweds rock musicians to explore a range of musical styles that few
musicians had attempted before 1966. Captain Beefheart and the Velvet Underground also created
a different kind of rock music within rock music, a different paradigm within the new paradigm,
one that will influence alternative musicians for decades. More than musical giants like Bob Dylan
and Jimi Hendrix, humble musicians like Captain Beefheart, the Velvet Underground and the Red
Crayola may be the true heroes of the 1960s. A black man... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They followed his dreams. Dillon had turned rock music into an expression of the ambitions of
youth. Around this time commercial rock music completely changed as it hit the coast of
California. This change came in the form of surf music. The beach boys had taken rock music
and put a spin on it with vocal harmonies. While before rock music was a way of fighting the
system California turned it into a music all about having fun at the beaches and parties. By the
60 s the times were ready for change but something drastic still needed to happen. England would
become a major part of American rock. In England Mersey beat was born. Mersey beat was rock
but with history behind it. From this came bands like the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin,
Yardbirds, The Animals, and many others. The Rolling stones became the sensation throughout
England. They re first record became one of the most successful singles of the era. The yard
birds were the most experimental of them all. Out of the Yardbirds came three of the best
guitarists in history: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimi Page. The second generation of the 60 s
created the Kinks and The Who. Both went on to record concept albums and rock operas that
paraphrased the British operetta at the sound of rock music. Then in the Mid 60 s The Cream and
Led Zeppelin brought change with a louder, harder blues rock mix. Cream had very long solos and
Led Zeppelins fast riffs. This was truly

Observational Learning Experience
If I were to have a five year old nephew and I were to have to teach him something I would mostly
likely use a combination of reinforcers and observational learning. Both positive and negative
punishment would be implemented in the teaching process, as well as the observational part so that
they all compliment each other. Most likely I would begin to teach him to play baseballand
basketball since most, including myself, start around that age. Although, I would not be as hard on
him as my brothers were on me when it came to sports.
I would begin to teach him baseball since it is my favorite. Before any actual practice begins I
would explain the simple form of the concept of the game. The object of the game, some
terminology, etc. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again I was always taught in more of a punishment type approach and again it worked for me, but
I believe it depends on the kid that is being taught and how they handle it. The same goes for
basketball as it did baseball, I would teach him the concept and objective of the game. When a
kid this age is being taught it is all really observational, because they look to you for guidance
and on how to do everything properly. They literally try to copy everything you do. When it
comes to basketball once he has the concept down and I have taught him how to do everything
correctly, I would take more of punishment route. For example, if he keeps missing lay ups, I
would make him make fifty before he could move on to anything else. If he has trouble dribbling,
then I would make him do dribbling drills until he has started to improve. The same goes for
baseball too. Punishment in a form that improves his game by making him to the same thing over
and over again until he gets better. My punishment in both sports was that I would always have to
run if I messed up repeatedly. That only makes you want to do better, which makes you better in
the long run, but making him repeat what he needs to improve has more of a direct correlation in
helping his weak aspects of the

The Awakening And A Doll s House
The Awakening and A Doll s House both share similarities and differences. They were both written,
at the time, toward different audiences. The Awakening was written in 1899, in English, and A Doll
s House was written in 1879, In Norwegian. Yet, despite these differences these works both find
ways to explicate the same themes and ideas of feminism, and the concept of self individuality. The
culture, at the time, did not promote the self individuality of women. The books main ideas,
therefore challenges these notions and illuminate the ideaof freedom as both Edna and Nora, the
central characters, try to find it. Nevertheless, freedom comes at a price and consequences that
cannot be controlled by the individual. Although both books illustrate this theme differently, The
Awakening by Kate Chopinand A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsenboth tell that freedom isn t
necessarily free and that it requires sacrifice.
Both their main characters, Edna and Nora, go through journeys in search for freedom and both
these characters are in conflict with their surroundings. Edna Pontellier, a New Orleans woman
who is married to a businessman, finds it stifling that he is gone for business trips and tries to
find love outside their relationship, and Nora, an upper middle class housewife, is conflicted by
whether or not to leave Torvald. Her marriage to Leonce Pontellier was purely an accident [...] (18

Increase in Driving Age
Sixteen year olds have higher crash rates than drivers of any other age. Young drivers just aren t
mature enough to be on the roads, risking other drivers lives by their reckless deeds. By
increasing the driving age teens have more time to practice making them more prepared and more
likely to be safer drivers. Teens have a very short attention span, with technology; they are even
more likely to get distracted making it more dangerous for them and other drivers Auto insurance is
more expensive for teen drivers for a reason. Teens are more likely to speed and take advantage of

Speeding or going too fast for road conditions, is a major factor in teen crash deaths ( Speeding ).
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for people from the ages 15 to 20 ( Teen
Drivers and Speeding ). Teens were involved in about fourteen thousand fatal crashes and more
than four thousand two hundred of them had to do with speeding. An AAA survey says
speeding is one of the top three mistakes teens make ( Speeding One of Top Deadly Mistakes
Made by Teen Drivers ). It s not the lack of education per say but rather the mindset of the driver.
Teens have the mindset that speeding and racing is cool and the consequences that can
inevitably follow these rash decisions are not important enough for them to not do it. Teens are
constantly being peer pressured by their friends and surroundings. Statistics show that over fifty
percent of teens experience with alcohol because of peer pressure and forty percent have tried a
drug ( Peer Pressure: The Effect on Teenagers ). If teenagers are willing to experience with drugs
and alcohol because they feel pressures, what would prevent them from speeding ten miles above
the speed limit for example. It seems harmless to drive fifty mph in a forty mph road, but there are
limits for different areas for a reason, from traffic condition to road conditions making it harder for
those teens that are speeding to control the car in time to prevent an

Contract Formation
Part A Contracts are an integral part of business and everyday life, and are fundamental to
construction as the industry relies on the formation of contracts for business agreements.
Contracts are based on the idea of a bargain, where each side must put something into the bargain.
A contract may be defined as an agreement which is binding on the parties (Galbraith, 1998,
pg78). There are a number of key components which must be present in the formation of such
contracts. Firstly, there needs to be an initial offer made by one party for the formation to begin.
An offer exists when one party effectively declares his readiness to be bound by a set of terms

the amount of pay which could be the same as that paid on a prior occasion . One particular
problem in construction is the letter of intent , widely used between employers and contractors
as a form of pre contract agreement. Following on from the tendering negotiations, Adriaanse
(2010, pg55) writes the purpose of a letter of intent is to express an intention to enter into a
contract at a future date . These are the result of failing to negotiate on certain terms in time for
the project start date, and are introduced to allow the commencement of work, keeping within the
projects completion target. As these are often not legally binding contracts they cause disputes
in the future if one of the parties does not carry out their duties, as in British Steel Corporation v.
Cleveland Bridge Engineering Co. Ltd (1981). Owen ( 1998, pg50) writes that all simple
contracts must have consideration given by each party to the other as the price of each other s
promises. It may take the form of money, goods, services, promises not to sue etc. For example
party A must receive something from party B, in return for party A providing something to party
B. However McKendrick (2007, pg88) states that consideration must be sufficient but does not
need to be adequate , meaning for example something must be offered to the other party in return
to satisfy the rules of consideration, but does not need to be of an equal value as

Cinderella Short Story Essay
Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are representative of the
time. The story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the story begins with the death of
Cinderella s birth mom who became sick . . . and died (Grimm). This is because death was quite
common in the mid 1800s [and] life expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties
(Huber). Soon after the father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s
second wives were quite common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to marry to
produce a male heir. Since the father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it was his role to remarry
and have a male to inherit his land and belongings. Remarrying was also a norm of the time for
child rearing. While the role of the man was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to
take care of the children. Taking care of the children was typically in the hands of the mother
(Eidson). The stepmother s role would have been to watch over the children as the husband was
gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the stepmother watches over Cinderella as
the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women would remarry because they were
limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it is not unusual the stepmother remarried as
well. By remarrying, the stepmother is provided for by the husband. The husband provides a home
for the girls and buys dresses,

Science In Between the War
From the sponsorship given the Casa de ContrataciГіn by Queen Isabella to the government funding
of many ongoing scientific experiments, science has always been heavily linked with politics.
Political power often collaborates with technological development in such a manner that societal
ideals reflected in the political regime correlates with the objectives behind scientific
development. As a result, conflict of political powers as manifested in war leads to an agitation
of scientific objectives and a consequent shift in material progress as scientific exploration
becomes oriented in a different direction. This leads to the creation of new materials targeted
towards increasing the advantage held by the patron country in the war of political ideals. The
ideas Einstein expressed in his letter to the League of American Writers pertain to the dichotomy
between fascism and democracy in the context of scientific progress, collaborating with the
historical context of the letter to establish the impact of the end of World War II as well as the
beginning of the age known as the Cold Waron scientific progress, influencing scientific relations
and communication between international scientific bodies as well as the objectives of scientific
concepts being applied to societal needs. The time directly following World War II was an

Rana Foroohar s Essay On Upward Mobility And The American...
Initially upon reading Rana Foroohar s essay on upward mobility and the American Dream, I was
surprised by the content. Foroohar s ideas were statements I had never heard before. As I
continued to read further into the essay, the more I thought. Though the ideas presented to me
were unheard of prior to reading, I began to notice how true they are. Foroohar presents facts that
cannot be disputed. It made me realize just how truly fooled the average American citizen is.
Throughout my primary education the idea and concept of the American Dream has been
repeatedly drilled into my curriculum and brain. I never once thought to question that this dream of
upward mobility is attainable. We are all taught from early on that if you can dream it, you can do
it. Foroohar presents the facts that although that may have been the case years ago, it is no longer
in existence now. As our society changes with new technologyand new changes in government, the
rungs of upward mobility change as well. Foroohar says that even though many aspects of our
society have changed, our idea that any social or economical climb is attainable has not. Many

The Truth in Negotiations Act
The Truth in Negotiations Act was passed on December 1, 1962 requiring government contractors
to submit cost or pricing data if the procurement met specific requirements in order to establish that
the offer is fair and reasonable. The history of The Truth in Negotiations Act will set the stage for its
significance in the twenty first century. Prior to World War II, the United States government
conducted its bidding process for procurementin an open bid environment. What was required for a
bid was a complete description of the requirement, two or more suppliers capable and willing to
complete the requirement, a selection based on price competition and sufficient time to prepare a

It was contended by GAO that the government s negotiator would be in a better position to
establish an equitable price if contractor cost data were made available. (Maddox, 2013)
In 1959, the United States Air Force took the beginning steps of implementing a process that was
based on the Government Accountability Office s recommendation. This process required
certification of contractor cost data, as recommended. The Department of Defense followed the
example set by the Air Force by issuing a revision to the Armed Services Procurement Regulations
to require certification of cost data.
The Truth in Negotiations Act has the purpose of insuring that the government is receiving a fair
and reasonable pricing, essentially helping to prevent defective pricing and allowing the
government to be able to get set retributions for defective pricing. This is something that is solely
found in the world of government contracting, as there is nothing similar to it in a commercial
environment. A potential supplier will have to supply the government with a certificate of current
cost or pricing data.

, Help , were mediocre, but Yesterday was impressive. I have always liked that song, and it was
good to hear it live. Not to mention, the band players were very good with their instruments. A
ticket to Ride , and She loves You , were to follow. The festival was being sponsored by 104.5 fm,
and the DJ from 104.5 named Bruce something or other, stepped in and played drums on She
loves You . He said that he had always wanted to play with the Beatles, and what an honor it was
to be able to do this. And I m not doubting his enthusiasm, but, I think that the whole thing was
rigged. The next song was the last song before the band took their one and only break of the night.
Very impressive, that this band is putting on a show like they were getting $20/ ticket. They played
for about an hour and a quarter before taking the break.

Realism And Realist Approaches To International Relations
On the other hand, they also share similar qualities and characteristics. Both theories realize how
our world is more than capable of being a dangerous place and we should not assume we are safe
at all times. Military power is recognized as being important and pragmatic, and it is understood
this power can easily be abused, as much as it can be functional. Another common realization
between idealist and realist approaches is because there is no absolute governmenthaving power
over all countries, countries can essentially do whatever they want to each other, which includes
inflicting terror, because there really isn t anything stopping them.
While it is true the two approaches to international relations share some common beliefs, these
beliefs are greatly outweighed by their differences. Their fundamental beliefs about how the
world should function are in opposition, and they place varying levels of importance on power.
Yes, military power is seen as crucial for both but realists see the military as being the sole,
relevant type of power, while idealists see the opposite. They do not think military power is the
most important type, and it even takes a backseat to moral and economic powers. Another major
difference is their view on total world government. On one hand, idealism seeks to create a united
world government, which would help create peace around the globe. On the other hand, realism
believes this would not be successful as it is impossible to coerce all countries to cooperate and
participate in this. Realists realize countries will be primarily looking out for themselves, and unless
it greatly benefitted them, would probably not do something just to help out other countries.
The term anarchy is often associated with realism along with the concept of no international
government. When people hear the term, anarchy, a very negative and violent image most likely
comes to mind, but that is not what the realist approach represents. Realists argue the absence of a
common government simply pushes countries to be independent and to help themselves, it does not
fuel conflict or terror. Another difference between the two is who they think the states are
concerned about, and what they want. Idealists

The Vertebrate Immune System
The vertebrate immune system is composed of a constellation of diverse immune cell types, each
with an exquisite ability to protect the host from infectious agents, cancers, and other
immunopathologies. Central to the success of this elegant complex system is the arm of adaptive
immunity, dominated by the effects of T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes. In terms of evolutionary
history, an immunological big bang resulted in the adoption of T/B lymphocyte receptors as
dominant anti pathogen defense system by the vertebrate lineage (Flajnik, 2014; Pancer Cooper,
2006). The result is the near virtual conservation of the adaptive lymphocyte lineage in jawed
vertebrates, underscoring the importance of lymphocyte mediated immune protection across... Show

Today, close to 120 years after Dr. Coley s findings, cancer immune therapies have come to the
forefront of therapeutic interventions of cancer (Couzin Frankel, 2013). This chapter describes a
broad historical account into the discovery of the major players in cell mediated immune response:
MHC restriction and T cells, along with the foundations of self/nonself discrimination and cancer
immunology. Particular focus is given to the last 50 years of research in T cell immunology and
tumor immunology. Finally, relevant unanswered questions specifically relating to this dissertation
work, and contributions addressed by the investigations pursued in this dissertation are addressed.
1.1Discovery, structure and function of MHC 1.1.1.Discovery of MHC The Major
Histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes, also called human leukocyte antigen (HLA), make
proteins that form the crux of adaptive cell mediated T cell response. There is a deep historical
relationship between tumor immunology and MHC, going back to early 1900s. During the early
years of transplantation and tumor immunology, tumors in inbred and random outbred mice were
commonly used to understand immune responses. In 1909, Ernest Tyzzer, an American pathologist,
and a founding member of the American association of cancer research (AACR), studied the
progression and rejection of

A Report On The Databakery Is A Homemade Goods Bakery With...
The DataBakery is a homemade goods bakery with a diverse assortment of succulent, delectable
baked goods which can be readily viewed on www.databakery.com. We exist to deliver our baked
goodies anywhere in the New England geographical region. As project sales forecasts have been
shattered repeatedly and growth ensues, our firm feels the need to develop a comprehensive
database to better collect, organize, and display important data necessary to optimize business
operations. The DataBakery would like to track our sales by each individual product. Tracking
product sales would allow our firm to: determine what our most popular product lines are, what is
being consumed the most, and how to alter our business strategy going forward based off of
discovered trends in our well organized data. Customer purchases, in terms of quantity of
transactions, customer name, address, phone number, email, the number of loyalty points they have
accumulated, and overall customer expenditures per purchase are important pieces of data we wish
to collect as part of our customer purchasing information. The customer loyalty points are an
important field in our customers table. We wish to increment a particular customer s loyalty points
based on number of transactions and based on overall dollars and cents expended at DataBakery.
These loyalty points would have implications of the customers receiving promotional offers,
coupons, deals, discounts, and dollars off their purchases because we want to

How Much Aid Should Wealthy Nations Provide For Developing...
How Much Aid Should Wealthy Nations Provide for Developing Countries? Introduction Politics
have been important throughout history, but in the last century, government has changed a large
amount. With the rise of the standard of living in first world nations, there has been a push to help
bring everyone in the world up to a minimum standard. There have been many perspectives taken on
the issue, and there are many articles for helping and against helping developing nations shown
through political and historical lenses. A key question is how much aid wealthy nations should
provide for developing nations, and how to provide it. Two articles considered this question. The
first article deals with The amount of government, while the second... Show more content on

Bandow argues through many perspectives in the political lens, creating a blending of voices that
makes his argument to have less government in developing nations more effective than if he relied
on one perspective alone. Article #2 The other article, Why developing countries get stuck with
weak institutions and how foreign actors can help by Brad Parks, Mark Buntaine, and Benjamin
Butch argues that the incentives given by donors only change cosmetic functions of the institution,
rather than changing actual results. An example is providing aid to improve staffing in an
organization to have people with better qualifications , but not dealing with the corruption in the
rest of country, so better qualified people still can t make things better. Rewarding countries for
doing things that are just cosmetic doesn t accomplish anything, but often gets the reward of more
aid. This group wants more change in the regimes of developing nations, which would lead to
actual development. The current system leads to stagnation of developing countries. The countries
put large amount of effort into achieving cosmetic goals to get the next financial quota, but they
are so poor they can t or won t do the harder steps to achieve real results. They just go for the
cheaper option. This was a well crafted argument, but only having a single piece of evidence to back

Fuzzy Multi Objective Particle Swarm Optimization
This approach propose a fuzzy multi objective particle swarm optimization (FMOPSO) for solving
TCQT problem. The parameters of cost, time and quality are defined by fuzzy numbers and a fuzzy
multi attribute utility procedure is used with limits of fuzzy arithmetic operation to adopt and
evaluate the selected construction methods. The proposed method is justified and implemented
through computational analyses.
The above method suggests optimal combination of construction method with the large fuzzy
composite utility by the means of particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique will be searched
out. The fuzzy multiple attribute required function governed by constrained fuzzy operations will
be added with the PSO method.
The framework of the fuzzy multi objective particle swarm optimization (FMOPSO) for solving
the fuzzy TCQT problem will be presented. The PSO simulates a social behavior scenario such as
bird flocking to certain position. A particle is assigned attributes of velocity and position and
defined as a point in multi dimensional space. The particle position depicts a candidate solution
to the task at hand. A swarm of particles (birds) fly toward an optimal defined position according
to the evolving method that utilizes the best experience (or position) of a particle (called local
best) and the best experience (or position) ever identified by any particle (called global best). To

Career Education And Business Management
As technology continues to advance, it is becoming more important for organizations to frequently
train their employees. This study will combine adult and career education and business
management disciplines to define and answer this research question, What is the most effective
way to train newly employed or employed adult learners new job skills or tasks within an
organization? Combining my two disciplines, adult and career education and business management,
creates a job for people who are professional trainers for businesses or organizations. These
professional trainers are specialized in teaching newly employed or employed people or groups new
skills and tasks within a specific department in an organization. Organizations normally hire
specialized trainers, but for smaller training, they will use a manager or supervisor as trainers,
which save them time and money. For trainers to determine the most effective methods, they first
need to understand how adults learn and why they learn differently than younger students. When
trainers understand how adults learn, they will be able to determine what learning stylesshould be
used for each individual trainee, allowing them to learn new information and skills efficiently. Once
the trainer knows how adults learn and they different learning styles, he or she will be able to
determine the most effective method to use for training an employee or employees for each specific
department within an organization.

Animal Shelters In The United States
Approximately 6 to 8 million animals are handled by animal shelters in the U.S. each year. Even
though some are reclaimed or adopted, nearly 4 million unwanted dogs and cats are left with
nowhere to go. Animal shelters cannot humanely house and support all these animals until their
natural deaths. They would be forced to live in cramped cages or kennels for years, lonely and
stressed, and other animals would have to be turned away because there would be no room for
them. Trying to build enough animal shelters to keep up with the endless stream of homeless
animals is like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound. Turning unwanted animals loose to roam the

Euthanasia is sort of weird that way. I have seen totally objective (and even outright callous) pet
owners simply drop off their pet for euthanasia with no more respect or empathy than a robot. I
have never been able to understand this type of pet owner who seems to be saying When you re
dead, you re dead . Sort of like euthanasia is no big deal. However, they can still comfort or
simply be with their pet at the time of euthanasia; and yet for their own reasons they choose to
separate themselves from the final moments of their pet s life. Maybe we humans are so close to
our pets that we somehow project our own humanity and mortality into them and we actually see
ourselves at our own last moments. Do some pet owners act out how they think they would view
their own passing? On the other hand, I have witnessed seemingly strong, objective individuals
that seem to be somewhat cold and distant who completely fall apart at the time of their pet s
passing. The theme to keep in mind, then, as you contemplate how YOU will act at your pet s
final moments is to remember that euthanasia is a completely personal experience. You have to
decide what is best for you and your pet. I have had people actually say to me I am sorry, Doctor,

Final Assessment It is nearly impossible to study American history without a mention of
Pennsylvania. The state is central in American history not only because of its location on the East
Coast, but also for the long duration of time that Europeans have inhabited Pennsylvania. Always
central to early American history, Pennsylvania was of the first American colonies, birthed many of
the founding fathers, and even housed Philadelphia, the first capital of the United States.
Furthermore, Pennsylvania had many of America s firsts, such as the first national bank and the
first major road. Pennsylvania was able to see much of the change that occurred throughout

Penn was given 45,000 acres on the Delaware River and named it Pennsylvania, or Penn s Woods
after his father. Penn then migrated to the new land with a group of Quakers and started to build a
community. One of the many issues that early settlers like William Penn had to face was
interactions with the Natives of the New World. The differences between the Native Americans and
the settling Europeans were plentiful and great examples are conflicting religious views, social life,
family values, and sense of ownership. In fact, it was the latter that sparked multiple problems
between the colonizers and the native population. Though the European settlers would try to obtain
land through trade, the concept would be completely lost to the Native Americans, who had no
sense of ownership. Because of these differences in cultures, the groups soon clashed resulting in
sorrow on both sides. Primary Source Three is a letter by William Penn to the Native Americans
who inhabit Pennsylvania. The letter starts with the words My Friends, implying the friendly tone
of the message and his desire to coexist with the Native American population (Trent). In the first
part of the letter, Penn thanks God and credits God for his ability to come to America. This
reaffirms the strong Quaker beliefs and their thorough connotations throughout Pennsylvanian
history. Penn then

organizational strategy decisions in the middle of the world economic slump that followed the
U.S. credit crisis from 2007. Since 2002, the consumer finance branch of Grupo Santander a

market. Against a background of growing concerns about the sustainability of household debt ...

entered the consumer finance business in the
1970 s creating Bansafina (1972) and Hispamer (1978) to begin their roots. They went on to
expand internationally in 1987 when they acquired CC Bank in Germany. CC Bank had been in
operation since the 1950 s specializing in car financing and had 51 branches under them. Over the
years SCF would continue to enter different markets, while growing their business. Under the
leadership of Mr. Inciarte, the company focused on growth going from a small business to major
markets in Europe. By June 2008, SCF was operating in twenty countries accounting for
5% of the Groups workforce, which generated about 8% bank profits. As the company continued to
grow new personnel was brought in to give the company a fresh outlook. SCF would continue to
break into numerous markets throughout making it a global strength.
Santander Consumer Finance (SCF) faces different challenges and risks when looking to enter into
another country. When a company is looking to enter in these different countries the challenges it
faces depends on the countries rules and regulations that their financial and banking systems

One reason the Tea Party movement is an effective political force in our society is because it is
respectable, meaning others take it more seriously than other political forces. Kim Geiger of the
Los Angeles Times writes that sixty members of the House of Representatives are apart of the
movement. She also states that the average net worth of the House of Representatives in 2010
was $755,000 and that the average net worth of the 60 Tea Party members in the House is $1.8

much respect they receive from others, but they are also very wealthy, which adds to their respect
that much more. The Tea Party movement is also respectable because it has received praise from
other political figures in society who are viewed as respectable. In an interview with Piers Morgan
on CNN, Rudy Giuliani said the members of the Tea Party are respectable people (Nick Wing). In
his article from the Huffington Post, Wing also says that Giuliani even endorsed a Tea Party
member who was a Republican candidate for Senate in Florida. Although Giuliani may not be a

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Essay
The recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are ripping off the government
for millions. According to data collected, Food stamp fraud costs taxpayers about $750 million a
year, or 1 percent of the $75 billion program that makes up the bulk of the department s total budge

cutbacks. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is one governmentassistance program
that needs to be revitalized.
It s important to realize The SNAP program which actually uses debit cards, provides modest but
crucial aid to families in need. SNAP recipients are ripping off the government for millions of
dollars by illegally selling their benefit cards for cash sometimes even in the open, on eBay or
Craigslist and then asking the government for replacement cards. In addition, several studies
have found a correlation between SNAP participation and increased body mass among adult
women. The U.S. Department of Agriculture s 2008 review of available research found that

The head to toe physical assessment is to be performed in less than 10 minutes using a stethescope,
pen light, your hands, and observational skills. It comprises of four different techniques: IPPA
inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. This sequence, in apparent order, is used for al
systems except for the abdominal assessment, which requires auscultation before palpation and
percussion. Inspection is visually examining the person, focusing on one area of the body at a time.
Palpation is using touch, feeling for texture, size, consistency, and location of body parts.
Auscultation is listening for sounds within the body, mainly listening the lungs, heart, as well as
the abdomen with the use of a stethoscope. Percussion is tapping an area of the body with the
fingers and is usually a special assessment skill that the RN or physician uses, not a practical student

Wavelet Transform analysis
Abstract:
Optical information is transmitted in the form of digital images is becoming a large method of
communication in the modern age but still the images reach after transmission is often depraved
with noises so the received images demand processing before it can be used in application. Our
motive is that to eliminate the noise from images that is underwater images also improve the
image , underwater images consist of different kinds of noises like random noise, speckle noise,
Gaussian noise, salt and pepper noise, Brownian noise etc. Image De noising is involved
manipulation of images data to produce a visually high quality, images processing of improving the
quality of images by enhancing its features. The underwater image processing area has accepted
appreciable attention within the last decades so using some proper kind of filter it is possible.
The filter we will employ is a bilateral filter for smoothing the images. It is required because of a
lot researchers like forensic department, argeologiest geologist, and underwater marine lab and
underwater inside hydro lab and so on, for their research activity. The underwater images have poor
image condition. First it uses some preprocessing methodology which is to be complete before
wavelet threshold de nosing. Then it will use CLAHE method for image enhancement along with
wavelet transform then we get some adaptive output and the images

Essay On Effective Teacher
This past semesters has been an eye opening experience that has changed my views on teacher.
Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a fourth grade teacher. However after being
placed in a second grade classroom my views have changed. I liked the idea of teaching fourth
grade because my fourth grade teacher was my inspiration in life. When I was in Ms. Petro s
class I enjoyed being able to watch the students progress over time. Being able to see the drastic
improvements in little children is very rewarding and that is why I want to continue to teach
lower grades. I have learned that being a teacher requires a special someone, a person who knows
that sometimes you will have to deal with tough situations leaving you exhausted and feeling like
you are not able to help more. But at the same time, being a teacher allows one to be a visionary for
the world and those who surround you. Many educators will argue what makes an effective teacher
and how that correlates with the function of the classroom. When we talked about how to be an
effective teacher we discussed three components, teaching through problem solving and selecting
appropriate tasks, creating appropriate environments and using appropriate interventions. In my
field experience, I was able to observe these three effective mathematics teaching components and
understand how they apply to the classroom. After leaning about these components, I was then able
to use them in my personal experience and see how they

Seven Leaders In Judaism Research Paper
In Judaism, there are many church leaders, in total there are seven leaders. These seven leaders
are the rabbis, chazans, gabbais, koheins, levis, rebbes, and tzaddiks. Rabbis, on the contrary of
what everyone believes, is only a teacher and does not have any more authority to perform a
religious ritual than any other Jewish man. A rabbi is highly educated in the Jewish law and
tradition to teach the community. A rabbi is also able to answer questions and resolve disputes
that involves the Jewish law. However since the destruction of the Temple, many rabbi have taken
over spiritual rituals due to the decrease of the koheins role. A chazan is someone who leads the
whole congregation into a prayer. In addition, because music plays a large role

Step Change Methodology And Tooling For Machining With An...
Today I will be talking about the research I did on quick change methodology. This is a very
fascinating and important topic for the machining process in all plants across the world. The
topics that will be covered in this paper are as follows defining quick change methodology and
tooling for machining with an overview history and recent advancements, SMED overview history
and recent advancements, then a compare and contrast of quick change methodology and SMED,
and to wrap up the paper I will illustrate how I can use this information to improve a
manufacturing process I am familiar with. These were great research topics and I learned a ton of
great valuable information that would be very useful in future endeavors.
First I will talk about defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an
overview history and recent advancements. It is a modular system that allows tools to be changed
rapidly on a machine during the initial part setup and the tool change after a tool is worn out. The
system radically decreases machine downtime for tool change for the duration of setup changes. It
is also for changing worn out inserts during machining. Normally a tool is fastened by putting it
into a slot in the turret and tightening screws to hold it resolutely. With doing this older process of
fastening the tool, extreme care must be taken to seat the holder correctly against existing butting
surfaces. Then the tool offsets must be set by touching the part or taking skin

Once upon a time there was a valiant, and noble knight who saved his kingdom by slaying a

Manipulating the backdrop, setting up lush greenery and creating an attractive panorama are no
cakewalk. Landscaping is truly an art that camouflages the dull and boring atmosphere. The green
is pleasing to the eyes and so is the blooming flora. Different people have different preferences
when it comes to landscaping. Some prefer pocket friendly procedures, while others are adherent to
spend hefty to make their property look exquisite. There are different templates available that
contain all the possible structures a landscaper could construct.

Beyond The Pale Character Analysis
The book Beyond The Pale is about Two ordinary people (Travis Wilder and Grace Beckett) who
get transported to this new and magic filled world that resembles earths medieval times. With
there new found powers they hope to save this new world from its impending doom. (The pale
king and his iron heart followers). I choose to write about Grace for my characteranalysis because I
admire her intelligence, her cleverness, and her independent nature.
Grace is intelligent because she always had a plan. When the king of Cavaler needed someone
to collect intel about the other nobles, he asked Grace to spy on and question the nobles. Not
only did Grace collect a significant amount of information that helped the king to sway the
council to go to war against the pale king, she also discovered and killed the iron heart spy that
was trying to kill the council members. It was her plan to capture the iron heart, that saved
Cavaler. Grace was also a doctor on earth. She was one of the best surgeons in Denver, Colorado.
To be a doctor requires a certain level of intelligence, which grace obviously had. Grace was also
a witch doctor (in this magical land most doctors are witch doctors) in Cavaler. It is not very
common for a lady to be in any kind of medical profession other than midwife in Cavaler. Grace was
just that intelligent and talented that the kingdom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cavalers nose and were planing to kill the council members. She also picked up the art of witch
craft in the span of a month. Very few women have the gift of witching let alone being able to
harness this power after a couple of weeks. Grace was clever enough to use her power to defeat the

Stereotypes In Sorry For The Loss By Bridget Keehan
When it comes to stereotypes, it often results in our expectations don t match reality. But I can
help make the world easier to understand. In the short story Sorry for the Loss from 2008 by
Bridget Keehan, we meet a minister who becomes surprised when an inmate, she meets, don t seem
to be what she had expected.
This minister is the main character of the short story. She is a catholic and her name is Evie. She
works at a prison and has been working there for 5 years. She finds comfort in praying because she
finds the brutality in prison intimidating.
Evie has to deliver her first death notice on her own. It is to an inmate named Victor. Victors
grandmother has passed away, and Evie wants to do everything right. For Evie, it is easier to judge
the inmates than to relate to them. She sees them as some kind of villains. When she delivers the
bad news to Victor, Evie doesn t understand Victors reaction. She was sure he would begin to cry,
but he doesn t. She expected Victor was a brutal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But as the reader, we might know. His way of reacting to death is different from the reaction Evie
would have.
The short story has an open ending. It is up to the reader to decide if the experience has made
Evie develop. Even though the final sentence where the butterfly knife is used as a metaphor for
Victor, indicates that she hasn t developed. She wanders back to the chapel trying to imagine a
butterfly knife and the damage it could wreak and wondering at the strangeness of how a thing so
hard and sharp, designed to cut, slice and stab, could be named after something so delicate and easy
to kill. (P. 6, l. 185 188)
Evie doesn t understand how a calm intelligent young man can be such a coldblooded killer.
There is a conflict between expectations and reality. It is stressed by the use of contrasts. While
Victor is this good looking boy, there is a large prison guard with a skin

  • 2. Symptoms And Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder Essay Bipolar disorder is a major mood disorder that includes the cycling of two parts; acute mania and bipolar depression. There are many factors that affect the onset of bipolar disorder, such as genetics, environment, and dysfunction in the brain. Due to its two part nature, various drugs have been used as antidepressants or antipsychotics. Unfortunately, not all drugs have the ability to target both aspects of bipolar disorder. As of right now there are various pharmacotherapeutics for bipolar disorder, but two of the most widely used are Lithium treatments or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). These are some of the primary treatments for bipolar disorder and even more pharmacotherapeutics and methods are being developed to ensure that patients are utilizing them properly. There are many psychotropic drugs that have been tested over the years. Some drugs with therapeutic effects aimed at the mania aspect of bipolar or the depression aspect of the disorder. Lithium, is one of the first drugs to be specifically used for individuals with bipolar disorder. When taking this drug, a lithium ion is used to interact with the various neurons. The exact mechanism is still being discovered, but according to a review, the candidate cellular targets of lithium appear to be enzymes such as inositol phosphatases and glycogen synthase, (Li et al., 2011, p. 78). Further studies have also included Lithium effects as, ...demonstrated efficacy in reducing both the frequency and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Henry Fleming In Red Badge Of Courage Henry Fleming is a teenager with romantic notions about the glories of war. He enlists in the Union army and quickly discovers sides of himself he never knew existed. The horrors, boredom, and complete injustice of war bring out all of Henry s worst (and occasionally best) tendencies. Initially, Henry fears that he will run like a coward when faced with his first battle. He s been in the army for a while now but hasn t seen any action yet. Talking with the other men, he tries to get them to admit that they are scared as well. No one wants to say as much; they all seem perfect examples of fearless men, which leaves Henry feeling even worse about his own apprehension. Shortly before his first battle, he sees his first dead body, a gruesome corpse. Meanwhile we meet two men, Jim Conklin or the Tall Soldier whom Henry has known for years, and Wilson or the Loud Soldier. Wilson, afraid that he will die in battle, gives Henry a packet of letters to deliver to his family after the war. When the fighting finally starts, Henry doesn t do too badly. However, when a second round of fighting begins after a brief lull, Henry is terrified and heads for the hills. Afterwards, he tries to rationalize his decision (to himself) by claiming it was simply a survival instinct. He oscillates between a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. 60 s Persuasive Speech I am writing to persuade you that the Musical Revolution was the most important movement of the time, and shall be selected to commemorate the sixties perfectly. Many say the sixties was the decade that vibrated the whole nation. The Musical revolution was a movement that has made an impact of a life time on our society, even still does today. I have been to many music events including Floyd Fest and Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, the festivals I have attended have made me have a new appreciation for the art of music throughout history. Many things must happen to make music, and even more steps must be taken for the music to be popular and appreciated especially in the sixties. Throughout the sixties many things were going on. In 1960, John F. Kennedy was elected and the first weather satellite was introduced. In 1941, the Bay of Pigs invasion was committed and the Peace Corps was created that fell into the sixties. The following year The Beatles released their first single, Love Me Do , along with the first Wal Mart being opened. John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, along with Doctor Whos first showing on Television. In 64 , the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law creating equality. Voting rights were given and signed in 65 , and the escalation of the Vietnam War, and the design of the infamous mini... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essay Marketsoft Harvard- Case Study Market Soft Case study Situation: MarketSoft founded by Greg Erman, in 1999 had designed an innovative software product that addressed the problem of managing sales leads across the extended enterprise . The product eLeads was strategically developed upon extensive research to address three critical areas many of the fortune 1000 companies in the modern times are facing: 1.Leads get lost 2. No qualifying systems for the leads exist and 3.The leads are never tracked. Problems: 1. The entire product was built based on customer needs that were identified by querying an extensive network of sales and marketing industry professionals. The obvious benefit of targeting this particular blue chip market segment as addressed in the second problem could be both monetary and that a greater number of market leads can be fed into the software when mining a larger market and could lead to minimization of the confidence interval error ratio. However mid size markets and companies who are players in this segment should not be ignored. The problem in ignoring them is that MarketSoft is leaving a large segment of the market unattended and these mid level companies have a potential to grow into larger corporations. By ignoring this market segment MarketSoft will essentially have lost an opportunity to have developed a future clientele base Recommendation: Problem 1 can be addressed by following the open ended questions with specific targeted questions that would allow focused answering, leading to better data mining which will help zero in on exactly what the need is and ultimately help refine the product characteristics with more finesse. A suitable recommendation to address the second problem is that these middle markets should also be targeted and the software should be refined to cater to these current needs with an ability to expand along with the client s business needs. • 7. Why A Raccoon Would Eat A Sugar Cube Truthfully speaking, this statement is amongst the strangest and most knowledgeable sentences I have ever heard or read. I know very little about nature, wildlife, and animals diets, so when I first read the sentence, I found myself utterly puzzled. I asked myself why a raccoon would eat a sugar cube and why someone would give it a sugar cube, but I quickly realized the statement was probably hypothetical. That was until I read the remainder of the article. Turns out that often times raccoons wash their food before consumption. Who would have ever known? I surely did not; however, in spite of the sentence s eccentricity, I discovered a new fact. I suppose that is what reading is supposed to be about: learningnew things, expanding language ... • 8. Examples Of Chaos And Complexity Theory D. What are chaos and complexity theories? how might they help us do better sociology, or at least help us have more realistic understanding of what is possible in sociology? Chaos theory can be seen in the butterfly effect, where a small little butterfly in the States that flaps its wings and changes the weather somewhere far away like China. The butterfly effectshows that small changes can have massive impacts in the world. For most people it is hard for them to think that a butterfly has so much influence, there are many other examples. Chaos can be seen in this example, where someone forgets their car keys and runs back to get them, which results in them not hitting the deer on the road (Gleick 1987). Complexitytheory states that structures are complex but that there is some form of general rules. Complexity theory is a part of chaos theorywhich is shown in the quote, chaos theory and its spin off, complexity theory, argue that relationships in complex systems, like organizations, are nonlinear, made of interconnections and branching choices that produce unintended consequences and render the universe unpredictable, (Tetenbaum 1998:1). Chaos and complexity theory can influence sociologist to go back and study system that were previously untouched. An example of chaos and complexity theory is the economy. The paradigm of rock music as the alternative to commercial pop music was established in the 1960s. Wild experimentation alloweds rock musicians to explore a range of musical styles that few musicians had attempted before 1966. Captain Beefheart and the Velvet Underground also created a different kind of rock music within rock music, a different paradigm within the new paradigm, one that will influence alternative musicians for decades. Around this time commercial rock music completely changed as it hit the coast of California. This change came in the form of surf music. The beach boys had taken rock music and put a spin on it with vocal harmonies. While before rock music was a way of fighting the system California turned it into a music all about having fun at the beaches and parties. By the 60 s the times were ready for change but something drastic still needed to happen. England would become a major part of American rock. In England Mersey beat was born. Mersey beat was rock but with history behind it. From this came bands like the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Yardbirds, The Animals, and many others. The Rolling stones became the sensation throughout England. They re first record became one of the most successful singles of the era. The yard birds were the most experimental of them all. Out of the Yardbirds came three of the best guitarists in history: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimi Page. The second generation of the 60 s created the Kinks and The Who. Both went on to record concept albums and rock operas that paraphrased the British operetta at the sound of rock music. Then in the Mid 60 s The Cream and Led Zeppelin brought change with a louder, harder blues rock mix. Cream had very long solos and Led Zeppelins fast riffs. This was truly ... • 10. Observational Learning Experience If I were to have a five year old nephew and I were to have to teach him something I would mostly likely use a combination of reinforcers and observational learning. Both positive and negative punishment would be implemented in the teaching process, as well as the observational part so that they all compliment each other. Most likely I would begin to teach him to play baseballand basketball since most, including myself, start around that age. Although, I would not be as hard on him as my brothers were on me when it came to sports. I would begin to teach him baseball since it is my favorite. Again I was always taught in more of a punishment type approach and again it worked for me, but I believe it depends on the kid that is being taught and how they handle it. The same goes for basketball as it did baseball, I would teach him the concept and objective of the game. When a kid this age is being taught it is all really observational, because they look to you for guidance and on how to do everything properly. They literally try to copy everything you do. When it comes to basketball once he has the concept down and I have taught him how to do everything correctly, I would take more of punishment route. For example, if he keeps missing lay ups, I would make him make fifty before he could move on to anything else. If he has trouble dribbling, then I would make him do dribbling drills until he has started to improve. The same goes for baseball too. Punishment in a form that improves his game by making him to the same thing over and over again until he gets better. My punishment in both sports was that I would always have to run if I messed up repeatedly. That only makes you want to do better, which makes you better in the long run, but making him repeat what he needs to improve has more of a direct correlation in helping his weak aspects of the ... The Awakening was written in 1899, in English, and A Doll s House was written in 1879, In Norwegian. Yet, despite these differences these works both find ways to explicate the same themes and ideas of feminism, and the concept of self individuality. The culture, at the time, did not promote the self individuality of women. The books main ideas, therefore challenges these notions and illuminate the ideaof freedom as both Edna and Nora, the central characters, try to find it. Nevertheless, freedom comes at a price and consequences that cannot be controlled by the individual. Although both books illustrate this theme differently, The Awakening by Kate Chopinand A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsenboth tell that freedom isn t necessarily free and that it requires sacrifice. Both their main characters, Edna and Nora, go through journeys in search for freedom and both these characters are in conflict with their surroundings. Edna Pontellier, a New Orleans woman who is married to a businessman, finds it stifling that he is gone for business trips and tries to find love outside their relationship, and Nora, an upper middle class housewife, is conflicted by whether or not to leave Torvald. Speeding or going too fast for road conditions, is a major factor in teen crash deaths ( Speeding ). Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for people from the ages 15 to 20 ( Teen Drivers and Speeding ). An AAA survey says speeding is one of the top three mistakes teens make ( Speeding One of Top Deadly Mistakes Made by Teen Drivers ). It s not the lack of education per say but rather the mindset of the driver. Teens have the mindset that speeding and racing is cool and the consequences that can inevitably follow these rash decisions are not important enough for them to not do it. Teens are constantly being peer pressured by their friends and surroundings. Statistics show that over fifty percent of teens experience with alcohol because of peer pressure and forty percent have tried a drug ( Peer Pressure: The Effect on Teenagers ). If teenagers are willing to experience with drugs and alcohol because they feel pressures, what would prevent them from speeding ten miles above the speed limit for example. • 15. Contract Formation Part A Contracts are an integral part of business and everyday life, and are fundamental to construction as the industry relies on the formation of contracts for business agreements. Contracts are based on the idea of a bargain, where each side must put something into the bargain. A contract may be defined as an agreement which is binding on the parties (Galbraith, 1998, pg78). There are a number of key components which must be present in the formation of such contracts. Firstly, there needs to be an initial offer made by one party for the formation to begin. An offer exists when one party effectively declares his readiness to be bound by a set of terms without any further negotiation (Galbraith, 1998, pg79). It is... One particular problem in construction is the letter of intent , widely used between employers and contractors as a form of pre contract agreement. Following on from the tendering negotiations, Adriaanse (2010, pg55) writes the purpose of a letter of intent is to express an intention to enter into a contract at a future date . These are the result of failing to negotiate on certain terms in time for the project start date, and are introduced to allow the commencement of work, keeping within the projects completion target. As these are often not legally binding contracts they cause disputes in the future if one of the parties does not carry out their duties, as in British Steel Corporation v. Cleveland Bridge Engineering Co. Ltd (1981). Owen ( 1998, pg50) writes that all simple contracts must have consideration given by each party to the other as the price of each other s promises. It may take the form of money, goods, services, promises not to sue etc. For example party A must receive something from party B, in return for party A providing something to party B. However McKendrick (2007, pg88) states that consideration must be sufficient but does not need to be adequate , meaning for example something must be offered to the other party in return to satisfy the rules of consideration, but does not need to be of an equal value as ... • 16. Cinderella Short Story Essay Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are representative of the time. The story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the story begins with the death of Cinderella s birth mom who became sick . . . and died (Grimm). This is because death was quite common in the mid 1800s [and] life expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties (Huber). Soon after the father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s second wives were quite common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to marry to produce a male heir. Since the father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it was his role to remarry and have a male to inherit his land and belongings. Remarrying was also a norm of the time for child rearing. While the role of the man was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to take care of the children. Taking care of the children was typically in the hands of the mother (Eidson). The stepmother s role would have been to watch over the children as the husband was gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the stepmother watches over Cinderella as the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women would remarry because they were limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it is not unusual the stepmother remarried as well. By remarrying, the stepmother is provided for by the husband. The husband provides a home for the girls and buys dresses, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Science Of The War On The World War II Essay Brittany Nguyen History 30 Deborah Woods October 15, 2016 Science In Between the War From the sponsorship given the Casa de ContrataciГіn by Queen Isabella to the government funding of many ongoing scientific experiments, science has always been heavily linked with politics. Political power often collaborates with technological development in such a manner that societal ideals reflected in the political regime correlates with the objectives behind scientific development. As a result, conflict of political powers as manifested in war leads to an agitation of scientific objectives and a consequent shift in material progress as scientific exploration becomes oriented in a different direction. This leads to the creation of new materials targeted towards increasing the advantage held by the patron country in the war of political ideals. Foroohar s ideas were statements I had never heard before. As I continued to read further into the essay, the more I thought. Though the ideas presented to me were unheard of prior to reading, I began to notice how true they are. Foroohar presents facts that cannot be disputed. It made me realize just how truly fooled the average American citizen is. Throughout my primary education the idea and concept of the American Dream has been repeatedly drilled into my curriculum and brain. I never once thought to question that this dream of upward mobility is attainable. We are all taught from early on that if you can dream it, you can do it. Foroohar presents the facts that although that may have been the case years ago, it is no longer in existence now. As our society changes with new technologyand new changes in government, the rungs of upward mobility change as well. Foroohar says that even though many aspects of our society have changed, our idea that any social or economical climb is attainable has not. Many countries have adapted to changes... The Truth in Negotiations Act The Truth in Negotiations Act was passed on December 1, 1962 requiring government contractors to submit cost or pricing data if the procurement met specific requirements in order to establish that the offer is fair and reasonable. The history of The Truth in Negotiations Act will set the stage for its significance in the twenty first century. Prior to World War II, the United States government conducted its bidding process for procurementin an open bid environment. It was contended by GAO that the government s negotiator would be in a better position to establish an equitable price if contractor cost data were made available. (Maddox, 2013) In 1959, the United States Air Force took the beginning steps of implementing a process that was based on the Government Accountability Office s recommendation. This process required certification of contractor cost data, as recommended. The Department of Defense followed the example set by the Air Force by issuing a revision to the Armed Services Procurement Regulations to require certification of cost data. The Truth in Negotiations Act has the purpose of insuring that the government is receiving a fair and reasonable pricing, essentially helping to prevent defective pricing and allowing the government to be able to get set retributions for defective pricing. This is something that is solely found in the world of government contracting, as there is nothing similar to it in a commercial environment. • 22. Realism And Realist Approaches To International Relations On the other hand, they also share similar qualities and characteristics. Both theories realize how our world is more than capable of being a dangerous place and we should not assume we are safe at all times. Military power is recognized as being important and pragmatic, and it is understood this power can easily be abused, as much as it can be functional. Another common realization between idealist and realist approaches is because there is no absolute governmenthaving power over all countries, countries can essentially do whatever they want to each other, which includes inflicting terror, because there really isn t anything stopping them. While it is true the two approaches to international relations share some common beliefs, these beliefs are greatly outweighed by their differences. Their fundamental beliefs about how the world should function are in opposition, and they place varying levels of importance on power. Yes, military power is seen as crucial for both but realists see the military as being the sole, relevant type of power, while idealists see the opposite. They do not think military power is the most important type, and it even takes a backseat to moral and economic powers. Another major difference is their view on total world government. On one hand, idealism seeks to create a united world government, which would help create peace around the globe. On the other hand, realism believes this would not be successful as it is impossible to coerce all countries to cooperate and participate in this. Realists realize countries will be primarily looking out for themselves, and unless it greatly benefitted them, would probably not do something just to help out other countries. The term anarchy is often associated with realism along with the concept of no international government. When people hear the term, anarchy, a very negative and violent image most likely comes to mind, but that is not what the realist approach represents. Realists argue the absence of a common government simply pushes countries to be independent and to help themselves, it does not fuel conflict or terror. Another difference between the two is who they think the states are concerned about, and what they want. Idealists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The parameters of cost, time and quality are defined by fuzzy numbers and a fuzzy multi attribute utility procedure is used with limits of fuzzy arithmetic operation to adopt and evaluate the selected construction methods. The proposed method is justified and implemented through computational analyses. The above method suggests optimal combination of construction method with the large fuzzy composite utility by the means of particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique will be searched out. The fuzzy multiple attribute required function governed by constrained fuzzy operations will be added with the PSO method. The framework of the fuzzy multi objective particle swarm optimization (FMOPSO) for solving the fuzzy TCQT problem will be presented. The PSO simulates a social behavior scenario such as bird flocking to certain position. A particle is assigned attributes of velocity and position and defined as a point in multi dimensional space. The particle position depicts a candidate solution to the task at hand. A swarm of particles (birds) fly toward an optimal defined position according to the evolving method that utilizes the best experience (or position) of a particle (called local best) and the best experience (or position) ever identified by any particle (called global best). The differences between the Native Americans and the settling Europeans were plentiful and great examples are conflicting religious views, social life, family values, and sense of ownership. In fact, it was the latter that sparked multiple problems between the colonizers and the native population. Though the European settlers would try to obtain land through trade, the concept would be completely lost to the Native Americans, who had no sense of ownership. It s important to realize The SNAP program which actually uses debit cards, provides modest but crucial aid to families in need. SNAP recipients are ripping off the government for millions of dollars by illegally selling their benefit cards for cash sometimes even in the open, on eBay or Craigslist and then asking the government for replacement cards. In addition, several studies have found a correlation between SNAP participation and increased body mass among adult women. The U.S. Department of Agriculture s 2008 review of available research found that while use of food stamps didn t increase obesity among children, adult men, or the elderly, studies show adult women are 2 to 5 percent more likely to become obese if they receive food stamps for more than a year (Huffington Post) . ... The head to toe physical assessment is to be performed in less than 10 minutes using a stethescope, pen light, your hands, and observational skills. It comprises of four different techniques: IPPA inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. This sequence, in apparent order, is used for al systems except for the abdominal assessment, which requires auscultation before palpation and percussion. Inspection is visually examining the person, focusing on one area of the body at a time. Palpation is using touch, feeling for texture, size, consistency, and location of body parts. Auscultation is listening for sounds within the body, mainly listening the lungs, heart, as well as the abdomen with the use of a stethoscope. Percussion is tapping an area of the body with the fingers and is usually a special assessment skill that the RN or physician uses, not a practical student nurse. The nurse must initially evaluate the patient s charts for any bacterial precautions and fall risks. As the nurse walks into the patient s room, the nurse begins by making sure the environment is clean and safe. The nurse would do this by gathering equipment, washing hands thoroughly, and wear gloves. The nurse is then to greet the patient, introducing self, then let them know exactly what you came to do. The nurse should first ask the patient for his or her name, birthdate, location of where the patient is currently at, and the reason as to what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our motive is that to eliminate the noise from images that is underwater images also improve the image , underwater images consist of different kinds of noises like random noise, speckle noise, Gaussian noise, salt and pepper noise, Brownian noise etc. Image De noising is involved manipulation of images data to produce a visually high quality, images processing of improving the quality of images by enhancing its features. The underwater image processing area has accepted appreciable attention within the last decades so using some proper kind of filter it is possible. The filter we will employ is a bilateral filter for smoothing the images. It is required because of a lot researchers like forensic department, argeologiest geologist, and underwater marine lab and underwater inside hydro lab and so on, for their research activity. • 42. Essay On Effective Teacher This past semesters has been an eye opening experience that has changed my views on teacher. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a fourth grade teacher. However after being placed in a second grade classroom my views have changed. I liked the idea of teaching fourth grade because my fourth grade teacher was my inspiration in life. When I was in Ms. Petro s class I enjoyed being able to watch the students progress over time. Being able to see the drastic improvements in little children is very rewarding and that is why I want to continue to teach lower grades. I have learned that being a teacher requires a special someone, a person who knows that sometimes you will have to deal with tough situations leaving you exhausted and feeling like you are not able to help more. But at the same time, being a teacher allows one to be a visionary for the world and those who surround you. Many educators will argue what makes an effective teacher and how that correlates with the function of the classroom. When we talked about how to be an effective teacher we discussed three components, teaching through problem solving and selecting appropriate tasks, creating appropriate environments and using appropriate interventions. In my field experience, I was able to observe these three effective mathematics teaching components and understand how they apply to the classroom. After leaning about these components, I was then able to use them in my personal experience and see how they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a very fascinating and important topic for the machining process in all plants across the world. The topics that will be covered in this paper are as follows defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an overview history and recent advancements, SMED overview history and recent advancements, then a compare and contrast of quick change methodology and SMED, and to wrap up the paper I will illustrate how I can use this information to improve a manufacturing process I am familiar with. These were great research topics and I learned a ton of great valuable information that would be very useful in future endeavors. First I will talk about defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an overview history and recent advancements. It is a modular system that allows tools to be changed rapidly on a machine during the initial part setup and the tool change after a tool is worn out. The system radically decreases machine downtime for tool change for the duration of setup changes. It is also for changing worn out inserts during machining. Normally a tool is fastened by putting it into a slot in the turret and tightening screws to hold it resolutely. With doing this older process of fastening the tool, extreme care must be taken to seat the holder correctly against existing butting surfaces. Then the tool offsets must be set by touching the part or taking skin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Beyond The Pale Character Analysis The book Beyond The Pale is about Two ordinary people (Travis Wilder and Grace Beckett) who get transported to this new and magic filled world that resembles earths medieval times. With there new found powers they hope to save this new world from its impending doom. (The pale king and his iron heart followers). I choose to write about Grace for my characteranalysis because I admire her intelligence, her cleverness, and her independent nature. Grace is intelligent because she always had a plan. When the king of Cavaler needed someone to collect intel about the other nobles, he asked Grace to spy on and question the nobles. Not only did Grace collect a significant amount of information that helped the king to sway the council to go to war against the pale king, she also discovered and killed the iron heart spy that was trying to kill the council members. It was her plan to capture the iron heart, that saved Cavaler. Grace was also a doctor on earth. She was one of the best surgeons in Denver, Colorado. To be a doctor requires a certain level of intelligence, which grace obviously had. Grace was also a witch doctor (in this magical land most doctors are witch doctors) in Cavaler. It is not very common for a lady to be in any kind of medical profession other than midwife in Cavaler. Grace was just that intelligent and talented that the kingdom ...
