Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito-borne illness characterized by symptoms such as fever, headache, rashes, and bleeding. It is transmitted through the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti mosquito, with symptoms appearing 5-7 days after infection, and can last for 2-7 days. Prevention strategies include wearing full-sleeve clothing, using repellents, and disrupting the mosquito transmission cycle.
