Dengue fever is an infectious tropical disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by mosquitoes. Symptoms include high fever, headaches, joint and muscle pain, and rash. While many experience mild or no symptoms, in some cases the disease can progress to life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome, characterized by bleeding, low blood platelets, and blood plasma leakage.

5. Most people recover within a week or so. In same
cases, however symptoms worsen and can become lifethreatening .Blood vessels often become damaged and
leaky, and the number of clot-forming cells in your
blood stream falls. This can cause:
*Bleeding from nose and mouth
*Severe abdominal pain
*Persistent vomiting
*Bleeding under the skin
*Problems with lungs , liver and heart

6. In a small proportion of cases the
disease develops into the life –
threatening DENGUE
HEMORRHAGIC FEVER,
resulting in bleeding, low levels of
blood platelets, and blood plasma
leakage, or into dengue shock
syndrome, where dangerously low
blood pressure occurs.
