Setting From the soundsthatI heard at the beginningof the cutscene I can tell thatthe
personwasoutside due tothe forceful windsthispersonwas facing;alsoduringthis
we can hear the personwalkingthrough snowwhichsuggests acoldenvironment
such as the artic or on top of a mountain.PersonallyIfeel thatitwason top of a
mountainbecause whentryingtotalkthroughthe radioyoupick upon a lot of
interference orstaticwhichoccurs witha bad signal frombeingsomewherehighor
isolated.Howeverthe locationsoonchangestobeinginside asyoulistentohardly
anythingbesidesthe muzzledsoundof vehiclesdrivingpastthe buildingleadingme
to believethatthispersoninina cityor well populatedarea.
The first2 soundsthat we hearcouldhave either
beenfieldrecordedandtheywouldn’tbe hardto
gethowevertheyare bothslightlywhether
dependant.Thisleadsme tothinkthattheycould
have alsobeencreatedbya professional Foley
artist.The nextsoundof radiostaticis the same
as the firsttwo,it eithercouldhave beenfield
recordedor producedina studio.The final sound
of the vehiclesweremostlikelymade inthe
studioas theysoundlike spaceships/flyingcars
whichdon’texistyetortheycouldhave recorded
a car and thenmanipulatedthe sound.
Mood The firstfeelingIencounteredwasconfusionwhichIgotfrom the dialogue of the
character that wasspeakingatthe time,he seemedunsureaboutwhathe was
actuallydoing,howhe wasgoingto do itand whyhe wasgoingto do it. The
atmosphere soonbecomesverytenseasthere ishardlyanysoundbesidesafaint
heartbeatthatyou hearin the backgroundwhichcouldalsosuggestinnerthought
or maybe evenfear/anticipation.Notsoonafter youconfrontthe auraof murderas
youhear 2 gunshotssuggestingthattwopeople have beenkilledduringthis
confrontationora single personhasbeenshottwice tomake sure that theyare not
goingto come back. Close tothiswe get the emotionof anger,frustrationand
demandingnessaswe hearsomethingthatsoundslike paddedamourcominginto
contact withsomeone’sface suggestingthatthere isnotime to waste inthe current
situation.The general ambience iscreatedbyanorchestral soundrepresenting
drama and action;itis the typical musicthat youhear forwhena majoreventis
happeningsothe musicisloudand dramaticto keepyoulookinginsteadof looking
The gunshotsoundcouldhave beenfield
recordedbya fewmembersgoingtoafiringrage
and recordingmultiple gunsbeingfiredandthen
short listedthe onesthatsoundedthe best.Italso
couldhave simplybeenmade byaprofessional
whohas researchedand listentomanygunshot
soundsto make itas authenticas possible.Both
of these couldalsohave beenusedforthe
paddedarmourcomingintocontact with
skin/someone’sface. Finallythe orchestralmusic
couldhave beenfieldrecordedbutmayhave
beencreatedbyusinga MIDI instrumentona
computerbyusingthe correct software andby
findingthe mostsuitable plugin.

Game genre From the soundsthatI heard I wouldhave saidthatthisgame was a shooter as I
statedbefore thatI heardgunshotsandalsothat thisgame isbasedina war of sorts
so I wouldmostlikelyassumethatweaponswouldbe involved.Isaythat itwas a
sci-fi game due tothe slightbackgroundsoundyouhearwhenthe scene goesvery
quiet,inthe back youcan hear vehiclesthatsoundlikespaceships/hovercarswhich
ultimatelymakesyouthinkof the future asthingsuch as that haven’tbeeninvented
yetor mass producedforthe publicuse.Thisparticulargame isstory drivenasthere
isa lotof dialogue tohelpyouunderstandthe storyeachstepof the way.
I have alreadymentionedhowIbelieve these
soundsto be createdinthe previousparagraphs.
Narrative The storyline forthisgame isveryeasyto followdue tothe amountof dialogue and
explanationthatwe getfromthe charactersduringeach scene.The openingscene
suggeststhatthe character is a soliderof the armyas theyuse terms suchas “Alpha
Whiskey”.
All of the dialogue inthisscene wasmore than
likelyrecordedinthe studioandthen
manipulatedif neededandtheneditedintothe
scene.

Game genre From the soundsthatI heard I wouldhave saidthatthisgame was a shooter as I statedbefore thatI heardgunshotsandalsothat thisgame isbasedina war of sorts so I wouldmostlikelyassumethatweaponswouldbe involved.Isaythat itwas a sci-fi game due tothe slightbackgroundsoundyouhearwhenthe scene goesvery quiet,inthe back youcan hear vehiclesthatsoundlikespaceships/hovercarswhich ultimatelymakesyouthinkof the future asthingsuch as that haven’tbeeninvented yetor mass producedforthe publicuse.Thisparticulargame isstory drivenasthere isa lotof dialogue tohelpyouunderstandthe storyeachstepof the way. I have alreadymentionedhowIbelieve these soundsto be createdinthe previousparagraphs. Narrative The storyline forthisgame isveryeasyto followdue tothe amountof dialogue and explanationthatwe getfromthe charactersduringeach scene.The openingscene suggeststhatthe character is a soliderof the armyas theyuse terms suchas “Alpha Whiskey”. All of the dialogue inthisscene wasmore than likelyrecordedinthe studioandthen manipulatedif neededandtheneditedintothe scene.
