The document presents a double input Z-source DC-DC converter to power a DC motor. Some key points:
- The converter allows two DC voltage sources to power the load individually or simultaneously for applications using multiple energy sources.
- It consists of two DC sources, four diodes, split inductors and capacitors in a 'Z-network', and a switch. There are four operating states based on the active/inactive states of the two sources.
- In state 1, both sources are active so the input voltage is the sum of the two voltages. In states 2 and 3, one source is active while the other is inactive. In state 4, both sources are inactive.

Hybrid Two Quasi Z-Source Converter for Photovoltaic ApplicationPremier Publishers
This paper presents a Hybrid Two Quasi Z-source (HTQZS) DC-DC converter for photovoltaic applications. These are mainly employed to full fill the demand of the voltage boost in photovoltaic applications from the lower value voltage. The traditional z source networks have some limitations in voltage boosting, so the modified z source means the different combination of the LC components is combined to form the hybrid quasi z source networks. This hybrid two quasi z source dc-dc converters can be applied for the dc-ac, ac-ac, and ac-dc conversions. The structure of the proposed converter is simpler. This converter adds the benefits to the traditional z source converter. This converter draws the continuous input current. The converter simulated is the combination of two different quasi z source networks. This converter uses the duty cycle less than the traditional z source network and gives the more gain than that. PV panel used as source to converter and then the output is inverted and step up.

Dual input dc-dc converters have two input voltage sources or one input source and an energy storage system like ultra capacitor, PV, battery, super capacitors and a single output load. In order to process the power in hybrid energy systems using reduced part count, researchers have proposed several multi-input dc-dc power converter topologies to transfer power from different input voltage sources to the output. This paper compares non-isolated dual-input converter topologies topologically ,based on the components count, various fields of application and different modes of operation for hybrid systems mainly used in electric vehicles and renewable energy systems composed of energy storage systems (ESSs) with different voltage-current characteristics. Dual input dc-dc converter topologies considered in this paper are investigated using MATLAB and PSIM software and output voltage and inductor current waveforms are shown.
Power electronic interface has reached a new level in the area of hybrid energy integration nowadays. The existence for the concept of hybrid energy integration is truly questionable without a proper power electronic interface. In this paper, a modified dual input DC-DC converter which is capable of incorporating two distinct V-I characteristic sources such as solar-PV, battery, fuel cell, etc., is proposed. The converter has the ability to operate in both unidirectional and bidirectional mode with buck, buck-boost and boost operation. The software simulation of the proposed converter has been conducted in MATLAB/Simulink platform in a detailed manner and an experimental prototype of the propsed converter has been built to validate the simulation results.
This paper proposes two new simplified cascade multiphase DC-DC boost power converters with high voltage-gain and low ripple. All simplifications reduce the number of active switching devices from 2N into N, where N is the phase number. The first simplification reduces the number of inductors from 2N into N+1 and increases the number of diodes from 2N into (2N+1). The second simplification reduces the number of inductors from 2N into N+1 and increases the number of diodes from 2N into (3N+1). The second simplification needs inductors with smaller current rating than the first simplification. The expressions of output voltage as a function of load current are derived by taking into account the voltage drops across the inductors and switching power devices. Simulated and experimental results are included to show the basic performance of the proposed cascade multiphase DC-DC boost power converters.

A Non-isolated Hybrid Boost Three Level DC-DC Converter with High Step-up Con...IJSRD
Nowadays renewable energy sources are increasingly used to meet the world’s increasing demand for energy. In grid connected photovoltaic (PV) generation systems, a single PV array can supply lower dc voltage. In order to connect PV array to the grid, the voltage has to be boosted to higher levels that is demanded by the grid side. A hybrid boost three level dc-dc converter based on traditional single phase three level diode clamped inverter can be used to connect low voltage PV array to the high voltage grid. Only one inductor, two capacitors in series, and those power switches and diodes, which are needed to establish the topology with high voltage gain. Pulse width modulation (PWM) control method is used for the control of power switches. Power switches of this converter works with duty cycles closer to 0.5. This hybrid three level dc-dc converter works with high gain without a transformer or coupled inductor. In addition, voltages across the capacitors in series are balanced in both steady and dynamic states. Therefore capacitor voltage balancing circuitry can be avoided. Also, blocking voltages of the power switches are half of the output dc voltage. This hybrid converter is suitable for PV generation systems connected to the grid with parallel- connected low-voltage PV arrays.

Novel mechanical Whistle Counter Device for Pressure CookerIJMER
The domestic pressure cooker is one of the most essential cooking utensils used in kitchens
worldwide. It ensures that the food is prepared in time, and still retains the nutritional value of the
ingredients used. A major flaw associated with it is the fact that one has to keep an account of the
number of whistles generated by the pressure regulator. Otherwise, the food turns out undercooked or
Over-cooked and even leads to wastage of fuel. The problem becomes particularly acute for the
hearing impaired. The device explained in this paper helpstokeep the track of number of whistles

Optimization of Turning Parameters Using Taguchi MethodIJMER
Abstract: Today in manufacturing and metal industries customer satisfaction is very important to
make own place in competitive market and also to make mirror image with faith in the heart of
customer, because customer gives preference to buy good quality product. In the metal and
manufacturing industries for the product low surface roughness is very important. Lowest surface
roughness assures not only good quality but also reduces manufacturing cost. In this paper the main
objective is to study effect of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on surface roughness of mild steel
in turning operation and as a result of that the combination of optimum level of factors was obtained to
get lowest surface roughness. Experiments have been conducted using Taguchi’s experimental design
technique. An orthogonal array, signal to noise ratio, and analysis of variance are employed to
investigate cutting characteristics of mild steel using high speed steel. Experimental results show that
among the cutting parameter cutting speed is the most significant machining parameter for surface
roughness followed by feed rate and depth of cut.

Modeling and Reduction of Root Fillet Stress in Spur Gear Using Stress Relie...IJMER
A gear is a component within a transmission device that transmits rotational forces. Gears
are commonly used for transmitting power. Gear teeth failure due to fatigue is a common fact
observed. Even a small reduction in the root tensile stress results in great raise in the fatigue life of a
gear. They develop high stress concentration at the root and the point of contact. The repeated
stressing on the fillets causes the fatigue failure of gear tooth. For many years, gear design has been
improved by using better material, hardening surfaces with carburization and heat treatment, and shot
penning to improve surface finish etc. Few more hard work have been made to improve the durability
and strength by changing the pressure angle, using the asymmetric teeth, varying the geometry of root
fillet curve and so on. The majority of the above systems don't ensure the compatibility of the current
rigging frameworks. This work presents the possibilities of utilizing the stress redistribution techniques
by introducing the Stress relieving features in the stressed zone to the advantage of reduction of root
fillet stress in spur gear

Query Answering Approach Based on Document SummarizationIJMER
The growing of online information obliged the availability of a thorough research in the
domain of automatic text summarization within the Natural Language Processing (NLP)
community. The aim of this paper is to propose a novel approach for a language independent automatic
summarization approach that combines three main approaches. The Rhetorical Structure Theory
(RST), the query processing approach, and the Network Representationapproach (NRA). RST, as a
theory of major aspect for the structure of natural text, is used to extract the semantic relation behind
the text.Query processing approachclassifies the question type and finds the answer in a way that suits
the user’s needs. The NRA is used to create a graph representing the extracted semantic relation. The
output is an answer, which not only responses to the question, but also gives the user an opportunity to
find additional information that is related to the question. We implemented the proposed approach. As a
case study, the implemented approachis applied on Arabic text in the agriculture field. The
implemented approach succeeded in summarizing extension documents according to user's query. The
approach results have been evaluated using Recall, Precision and F-score measures.
Single-Input Double Output High Efficient Boost Dc–Dc ConverterIJMER
The aim of this project is to develop a high-efficiency single-input multiple-output (SIMO) dc–dc converter. The proposed converter can boost the voltage of a low-voltage input power source to a controllable high-voltage dc bus and middle-voltage output terminals. The high-voltage dc bus can take as the main power for a high-voltage dc load or the front terminal of a dc–ac inverter. Moreover, middle-voltage output terminals can supply powers for individual middle-voltage dc loads or for charging auxiliary power sources (e.g., battery modules). In this project, a coupled-inductor based dc–dc converter scheme utilizes only one power switch with the properties of voltage clamping and soft switching, and the corresponding device specifications are adequately designed. As a result, the objectives of high-efficiency power conversion, high step up ratio, and various output voltages with different levels can be obtained
High Efficiency Dc-Dc Converter for Renewable Energy Applications and High Vo...IOSRJEEE
Renewable sources like solar PV cell is prefer to be operated at low voltages. This paper proposes a novel high voltage gain, high efficiency dc-dc converter based on coupled inductor, intermediate capacitor. The input energy acquired from the source is first stored in the coupled inductor and intermediate capacitor in a lossless manner. Improve the voltage gain and efficiency of the system. Exorbitant duty cycle values are not required for high voltage gain, when prevent the problems such as diode reverse recovery. Presence of a passive clamp network causes reduced voltage stress on the switch. Overall performance of the renewable energy with a step-up DC/DC converter using closed loop control action is used in the proposed system, improving the overall efficiency of the system.

Modern trend in power generation is the use of two-stage configuration i.e., allocating a single PV cell
to a converter to produce grid voltage of adequate requirement and then to convert DC to AC voltage for grid
cnnection. Usually, the first stage is a DC-DC boost type converter which is responsible for extracting maximum
power from panel and boosting PV voltage to a value higher than peak of grid voltage. A converter is proposed,
which is derived from an active network based converter, is chosen as the first stage and a five level inverter is
used as the second stage of the configuration. Thus, in overall, the converter used is having high gain and reduced
switching stress. The Inverter used is having the advantage of low filter requirement, reduced stress, EMI and
reduced THD level. A closed loop control of the converter is done to maintain constant output voltage under
varying input voltage. MATLAB R2014a version software is used to simulate the model. The prototype of the
two stage configuration was developed and tested in the laboratory and results were verified using PIC 16F877A.
This study presents a new two-switch multi-input high step-up DC/DC converter. A coupled inductor is used to enhance the voltage gain. Having a bidirectional port makes the converter suitable for applications in need of battery such as stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems. As a result, the proposed converter has the merits of integrating two power sources along with boosting the input voltage. Furthermore, in comparison with typical three-port DC/DC converters which utilize three switches, the presented converter employ only two switches to control the converter. Hence, cost and size of the structure is reduced. In order to verify the performance of the converter, simulation results are taken and depicted.
A Comparative Study of Various AC-DC Converters for Low Voltage Energy Harves...paperpublications3
Abstract: Electromagnetic microscale and mesoscale power generators with low voltage outputs are now widely used as kinetic energy harvesters. The extrinsic vibrations on the generator can excite the internal oscillations between the proof mass magnet and the electrical damper coils. These oscillations produce a periodically varying magnetic flux in coil, inducing a corresponding AC output voltage. This output can be converted to dc and can be used to supply power to electronic loads. The conventional AC-DC converters for energy harvesting system with diode rectifiers suffer considerable voltage drop resulting increase in power loss of circuitry and complexity. As a remedy various bridgeless boost converters were designed and implemented. Standard H bridge converter with 4 switch or 2 switch, dual polarity boost converters, parallel combination of boost and buck-boost converter, integrated boost and buck-boost combination bridgeless rectifier are some of these. These circuits are studied, simulated and compared. The simulation models are drawn and simulated using MATLAB R2010a.
IMPLEMENTATION OF DISCONTINUOUS INDUCTOR CURRENT MODE IN CUK CONVERTERS FED B...Journal For Research
This paper presents a bridgeless Cuk converter-fed brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive. A Bridgeless Cuk converter is constructed to operate at discontinuous inductor current mode to improve the quality of power and power factor at the AC mains for better speed control. The bridgeless converter is designed for obtaining the low conduction losses and requirement of low size of heat sink for the switches. TI-TMS320-F2812-based Digital Signal Processor (DSP) is used for the development of the hardware prototype of proposed BLDC motor drive.
Abstract: AC-DC soft-switching resonant converter with interleaved boost power factor corrector (PFC) is presented. In this converter, an interleaved boost PFC circuit is integrated with a soft-switching resonant converter. High power factor is achieved by the interleaved boost PFC circuit. The input current can be shared among the inductors so that high reliability, power factor and efficiency in power system can be obtained and ripples are also reduced. Another advantage of interleaved technique is reduction of THD. Thus the converter performance can be improved. The voltage across the main switches is confined to the dc-link voltage. Soft-switching operation of main switches and output diodes is achieved. Hence the switching losses are reduced significantly. Therefore, the overall efficiency is improved. Circuit is simulated with 110V AC input voltage and 45V DC output voltage is verified. Performance parameters such as voltage stress and output ripple are also analyzed. The simulation is done in PSIM. Power factor of 0.96 is achieved with this converter. For the hardware, dsPIC30F2010 is used for generating PWM pulse with switching frequency 90 kHz.

Coupled Inductor Based High Step-Up DC-DC Converter for Multi Input PV SystemIJERA Editor
With the shortage of the energy and ever increasing of the oil price, research on the renewable and green energy
sources, especially the solar arrays and the fuel cells, becomes more and more important. How to achieve high
step-up and high efficiency DC/DC converters is the major consideration in the renewable power applications
due to the low voltage of PV arrays and fuel cells. In this paper a coupled inductor dc-dc converter for photovoltaic
system is proposed. The circuit configuration of the proposed converter is very simple. Thus, the
proposed converter has higher step-up and step-down voltage gains than the conventional bidirectional dc–dc
boost/buck converter. Under same electric specifications for the proposed converter and the conventional
bidirectional boost/buck converter, the average value of the switch current in the proposed converter is less than
the conventional bidirectional boost/buck converter. The operating principles have been applied to multi input
photovoltaic system and outputs have been observed.
Extremely high duty cycle of boost converter may result in higher conduction losses. To achieve a high
conversion ratio without operating at extremely high duty ratio, some converters based on transformers or coupled
inductors or tapped inductors have been provided. However, the leakage inductance in the transformer, coupled
inductor or tapped inductor will cause high voltage spikes in the switches and reduce system efficiency. A novel
single switch cascaded dc-dc converter of boost and buck boost converters have extended voltage conversion ratio
to d/(1-d)2. The features of the converter are high voltage gain; only one switch for realizing the converter, the
number of magnetic components is small etc. So comparing with other topologies cascaded converter is more
effective. Simulation of the converter for a dc input voltage and fixed duty cycle was done, and the same was
verified experimentally for a low input voltage. The software used for simulation was MatlabR2014a
A Study on Translucent Concrete Product and Its Properties by Using Optical F...IJMER
- Translucent concrete is a concrete based material with light-transferring properties,
obtained due to embedded light optical elements like Optical fibers used in concrete. Light is conducted
through the concrete from one end to the other. This results into a certain light pattern on the other
surface, depending on the fiber structure. Optical fibers transmit light so effectively that there is
virtually no loss of light conducted through the fibers. This paper deals with the modeling of such
translucent or transparent concrete blocks and panel and their usage and also the advantages it brings
in the field. The main purpose is to use sunlight as a light source to reduce the power consumption of
illumination and to use the optical fiber to sense the stress of structures and also use this concrete as an
architectural purpose of the building

Geochemistry and Genesis of Kammatturu Iron Ores of Devagiri Formation, Sandu...IJMER
The Greenstone belts of Karnataka are enriched in BIFs in Dharwar craton, where Iron
formations are confined to the basin shelf, clearly separated from the deeper-water iron formation that
accumulated at the basin margin and flanking the marine basin. Geochemical data procured in terms of
major, trace and REE are plotted in various diagrams to interpret the genesis of BIFs. Al2O3, Fe2O3 (T),
TiO2, CaO, and SiO2 abundances and ratios show a wide variation. Ni, Co, Zr, Sc, V, Rb, Sr, U, Th,
ΣREE, La, Ce and Eu anomalies and their binary relationships indicate that wherever the terrigenous
component has increased, the concentration of elements of felsic such as Zr and Hf has gone up. Elevated
concentrations of Ni, Co and Sc are contributed by chlorite and other components characteristic of basic
volcanic debris. The data suggest that these formations were generated by chemical and clastic
sedimentary processes on a shallow shelf. During transgression, chemical precipitation took place at the
sediment-water interface, whereas at the time of regression. Iron ore formed with sedimentary structures
and textures in Kammatturu area, in a setting where the water column was oxygenated.

Non linear analysis of Robot Gun Support Structure using Equivalent Dynamic A...IJMER
Robot guns are being increasingly employed in automotive manufacturing to replace
risky jobs and also to increase productivity. Using a single robot for a single operation proves to be
expensive. Hence for cost optimization, multiple guns are mounted on a single robot and multiple
operations are performed. Robot Gun structure is an efficient way in which multiple welds can be done
simultaneously. However mounting several weld guns on a single structure induces a variety of
dynamic loads, especially during movement of the robot arm as it maneuvers to reach the weld
locations. The primary idea employed in this paper, is to model those dynamic loads as equivalent G
force loads in FEA. This approach will be on the conservative side, and will be saving time and
subsequently cost efficient. The approach of the paper is towards creating a standard operating
procedure when it comes to analysis of such structures, with emphasis on deploying various technical
aspects of FEA such as Non Linear Geometry, Multipoint Constraint Contact Algorithm, Multizone
meshing .

Intrusion Detection and Forensics based on decision tree and Association rule...IJMER
This paper present an approach based on the combination of, two techniques using
decision tree and Association rule mining for Probe attack detection. This approach proves to be
better than the traditional approach of generating rules for fuzzy expert system by clustering methods.
Association rule mining for selecting the best attributes together and decision tree for identifying the
best parameters together to create the rules for fuzzy expert system. After that rules for fuzzy expert
system are generated using association rule mining and decision trees. Decision trees is generated for
dataset and to find the basic parameters for creating the membership functions of fuzzy inference
system. Membership functions are generated for the probe attack. Based on these rules we have
created the fuzzy inference system that is used as an input to neuro-fuzzy system. Fuzzy inference
system is loaded to neuro-fuzzy toolbox as an input and the final ANFIS structure is generated for
outcome of neuro-fuzzy approach. The experiments and evaluations of the proposed method were
done with NSL-KDD intrusion detection dataset. As the experimental results, the proposed approach
based on the combination of, two techniques using decision tree and Association rule mining
efficiently detected probe attacks. Experimental results shows better results for detecting intrusions as
compared to others existing methods
Natural Language Ambiguity and its Effect on Machine LearningIJMER
"Natural language processing" here refers to the use and ability of systems to process
sentences in a natural language such as English, rather than in a specialized artificial computer
language such as C++. The systems of real interest here are digital computers of the type we think of as
personal computers and mainframes. Of course humans can process natural languages, but for us the
question is whether digital computers can or ever will process natural languages. We have tried to
explore in depth and break down the types of ambiguities persistent throughout the natural languages
and provide an answer to the question “How it affects the machine translation process and thereby
machine learning as whole?” .
Today in era of software industry there is no perfect software framework available for
analysis and software development. Currently there are enormous number of software development
process exists which can be implemented to stabilize the process of developing a software system. But no
perfect system is recognized till yet which can help software developers for opting of best software
development process. This paper present the framework of skillful system combined with Likert scale. With
the help of Likert scale we define a rule based model and delegate some mass score to every process and
develop one tool name as MuxSet which will help the software developers to select an appropriate
development process that may enhance the probability of system success.
Material Parameter and Effect of Thermal Load on Functionally Graded CylindersIJMER
The present study investigates the creep in a thick-walled composite cylinders made
up of aluminum/aluminum alloy matrix and reinforced with silicon carbide particles. The distribution
of SiCp is assumed to be either uniform or decreasing linearly from the inner to the outer radius of
the cylinder. The creep behavior of the cylinder has been described by threshold stress based creep
law with a stress exponent of 5. The composite cylinders are subjected to internal pressure which is
applied gradually and steady state condition of stress is assumed. The creep parameters required to
be used in creep law, are extracted by conducting regression analysis on the available experimental
results. The mathematical models have been developed to describe steady state creep in the composite
cylinder by using von-Mises criterion. Regression analysis is used to obtain the creep parameters
required in the study. The basic equilibrium equation of the cylinder and other constitutive equations
have been solved to obtain creep stresses in the cylinder. The effect of varying particle size, particle
content and temperature on the stresses in the composite cylinder has been analyzed. The study
revealed that the stress distributions in the cylinder do not vary significantly for various combinations
of particle size, particle content and operating temperature except for slight variation observed for
varying particle content. Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) emerged and led to the development
of superior heat resistant materials.

As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
