This document summarizes a case study of a tolled road project implemented through a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement in a city in India. Key risks identified include social opposition and public protests shutting down toll booths. The project involved developing 50km of roads through the municipal corporation area to address traffic issues. The concessionaire was responsible for construction, maintenance, and operating 9 toll plazas for 30 years to collect tolls and other revenues to recoup costs. Traffic analysis of toll plazas showed daily vehicle volumes.
