Potential For Victoria s Dairy Industry
Potential for Victoria s Dairy Industry to Move towards a Partial Mixed Ration Feeding System
Jasmine Hasluck
Feed is a major cost in the production of milk so it is important for Victorian dairy farmers to consider
which feeding strategy is going to be the most efficient in generating high profit and productivity. We
can broadly group dairy feeding strategies into 5 systems (Little, S 2010). System 1 is pasture based
with other forages and up to 1 tonne of grain or concentrates fed in bail. System 2 is pasture based
with other forages and more than 1 tonne of grain or concentrate fed in bail. System 3 is a partial
mixed ration (PMR) fed on a feed pad, grazed pasture and grain or concentrate may be fed in bail.
System 4 is a hybrid system, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It requires minimal capital and infrastructure by allowing cattle to graze pasture. However this system
has become less efficient as Victorian dairy farms have become more intense and climatic conditions
and milk prices are volatile. Since the price of milk became deregulated in 2000 there was a push for
Australian dairy farms to become more productive to remain competitive with international dairy
industries (Edwards, G 2003). This led to increases in stocking density and ultimately put pressure on
pasture supply. Rainfall is a limiting factor on pasture growth and year to year variability in rainfall
has had a huge negative effect on Victorian dairy farmers. In 2009/10 Victoria was faced with severe
droughts, which showed a fall in milk production of over 340 million litres (Dairy Australia, 2015).
During an extended period of low rainfall the quantity and quality of pasture is limited, which means
pasture based farms are forced to buy in supplementary feed and/or irrigation water to satisfy the feed
requirements of dairy cattle. Climatic variability poses a high risk in this system, which has led to
farmers to start considering other feeding options such as a partial mixed ration which might alleviate
this risk. Figure 1. Dairy Feeding Systems (Little, S 2010)
Partial mixed ration systems combine the cost effectiveness of pasture based feeding with a
formulated diet which gives the potential to improve productivity and decrease the risk associated

Essay On The Higher The Better
The Higher the Better In Mexico City, 1986, with two scratches and only one attempt left Bob
Beamon raced down the track, beginning a jump that would have worldwide repercussions for the
next thirty years (ESPN). Bob Beamon, running more like a sprinting ostrich than a gazelle jumped
out of the sandpit, setting a personal best by over two feet and a new world record (Daniels). The jump
was so far, and so unexpected that the officials only extend the sandpit to the previous world record
and used a measuring unit to match. This new world record set by Bob Beamon was just one of many
new world records set in the Olympic games of 1986. In this historic Olympics, a new world record
was set in two jumping events and in all sprinting events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no question that there are helpful and harmful attributes to elevation. The argument is
whether these effects are enough to cause an unfair advantage and are they dangerous enough to
warrant a rule to be made about it. There are many things that come into question when addressing the
affects elevation has on athletes such as: the effects of air resistance, air density, low oxygen levels,
and a weaker gravitational pull (Ward Smith). When people think of elevation most people think of in
the mountains or thousands of feet in the air. That is not the case. All of these handicaps and issues can
affect athletic events that are held in heights as low as one thousand five hundred feet. At this altitude
there is approximately 16% less oxygen in the air (Altitude). At first glance this does not seem like a
big difference but when a highly trained athlete is competing this can be the difference between a loss
or a win. Another measurement of oxygen intake at elevation is the study published in the Journal of
Applied Physiology in 1996, trained and untrained cyclists were asked to undergo a Vo2max test,
Vo2max is the rate of oxygen consumed during the exercise test, at while at sea level and again at five
hundred and eighty meters. The result: the effects were negligible in the untrained group, but in the
trained group VO2max dropped by an average of 6.8% due to a fall in arterial oxygen saturation
(Runner s Connect). If a hypothetical athlete is at one hundred

Italian Culture and Change
The World. A spherical globe filled with a multitude of different cultures, nations, and ethnicities. Yet
we are all part of the same planet, the same singular race of humanity. When assigned with this
assignment to choose one country out of this vast array, we went with one that one of our group
members was most familiar with. We chose the beautiful European country and cultural center of Italy.
It was one that one of our group members had personally visited within the last year and her
experience gave us some amazing insight into what the actual culture of Italy consisted of. It was
much more enlightening than reading any book, although those sources were just as helpful in the
researched conducted. With this decision we reached the verdict that we would be doing the
Contemporary World Issues Project. Then after careful consideration we decided to focus the research
and project on the overall change in Italy s population, examining factors like migration, ethnic
marriages, foreign residents, and changing cultural values. We also wanted to cover the overall change
in Italian culture with the decline in traditional craft making processes and the overall industrialization
in the Italian manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
The project was started by dividing up the actual needed information into sections for each of the
participants to research on their own. We decided to gather up basic information about different
sectors of the Italian world/culture. We divided up into

Strategic Rationale For The Acquisition Of Myer Holdings...
1 Strategic rationale for the acquisition of Myer Holdings Limited 1.1 Growth motive The main
reason for this Mergers Acquisitions(M A) activity is the growing scale of Premier Investments
Limited (Premier). The target for acquisition is Myer Holdings Limited(Myer). Myer is an important
customer for Premier with significant common interest. And the competitor, Woolworths South
Africa(Woolworths) has already achieved the David Jones acquisition. Therefore, Premier choose
Myer as the target for acquisition. 1.1.1 Growing scale and Geographic the acquisition of Myer will
greatly help Premier expand its retails into some new geographic regions and acquire more
capabilities faster with lower risk than developing them internally. M A activity does help Premier get
benefits on location from industry consolidation and acquire the control over supplier. 1.1.2
Competitive position For both Myer and Premier, the M A is an appropriate way to satisfy the higher
return for their shareholders and enhance their economic strength. In addition, Premier will enhance
its rate of innovation through acquiring new technology and intellectual property. Also, Premier can
diversify the company s products into some new market segments and attract new customers and
partners. Also, this M A activity can improve the market competitiveness of Premier against other
strong competitors in Australian market and such as Woolworths. 1.2 Synergy The acquisition of Myer
has the robust view on synergy for

The Sexual Revolution Of The 20th Century
When people learn that I practice and preach about chastity, many are taken back. It s not often that
you find a young, teenage girl unashamed in her choice to remain pure. I ve accepted that if I m going
to live a pure lifestyle, I can t expect the world to understand my decision.
And I blame it all on the sexual revolution.
Up to that point in the twentieth century, people were living in a prudish, unhealthy culture that
twisted our human sexuality into something that was looked down upon, as something to be ashamed
of. Repressing one s sexual desires simply does not work; that s not how we were built. (Remember
that whole made from love, created for love thing?)
The sexual revolution took the world by storm because they had been ... Show more content on

That is impossible in an environment that upholds works like Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues,
inviting people to reduce their self image to their anatomy. Likewise, there is no dignity in a society
that encourages touching another person s body but not allowing that person to touch your heart.
Chastity is not about locking ourselves up in a tower and wearing a steel belt all our days; it s being
freed from selfishness and the standards of our culture and growing in our capacity to love
authentically.
Chastity and abstinence are frequently confused with each other. Abstinence is merely abstaining from
all sexual encounters. Abstinence focuses on what you can t do and what you can t have. That
statement contradicts chastity. Chastity focuses and what can have and do have right now; a lifestyle
that brings freedom, respect, peace, joy, romance without regret. Because chastity involved purity in
many cases, some people think in means reverting to that puritan movement of sexual repression. ON
the contrary, it frees lovers up from that selfish attitude of using each other, making them capable of
true love. In fact, the Catholic Catechism states All Christ s faithful are called to live a chaste life in
keeping with their particular states of life. By states of life , the Church means that there is married
chastity and unmarried chastity.
What? How does that work?
Chastity is a virtue,

Use of Collaborative and Cooperative Learning
Collaborative and cooperative learning promotes student learning through group oriented activities.
Collaborative learning is a method of teaching and learning in which student teams will work together
to create a meaningful multimedia project. Cooperative learning, which will be the primary focus of
this paper, is a specific kind of collaborative learning. In cooperative learning, students work together
in small groups on a structured activity. Cooperative groups will work face to face and will learn to
work as a team. The multimedia project will allow all students to benefit from gaining a deeper
knowledge of the multimedia matters through communication with their peers and building
relationships among their peers of different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This guide will be useful in my teaching practice to help provide strategies in developing a
cooperative learning environment (Tanner, Bottoms, Feagin, Bearman, 2003).
The guide will help integrate technology into this multimedia project that will provide students with
fresh ways to learn and opportunities to apply knowledge to new situations, thus encouraging problem
solving and thinking skills. The instructional plans used in the multimedia project will make sure that
students have access to technology that enhances learning. Students will learn to use technology in
conducting research and in presenting what they have learned. Students will also apply
productivity/multimedia products to support personal productivity, group collaboration and learning
throughout the curriculum as well as use technology to design, develop, publish and present products
related to classroom content. The purpose of this guide is to help teachers deepen students learning
and to challenge teachers and students to set learning goals that go far beyond the classroom (Tanner,
Bottoms, Feagin, Bearman, 2003).
Cooperative learning is considered a classroom organizational and instructional method which was
considered for this multimedia project. Cooperative learning is more than just group work. Lee (1997)
in traditional group learning, students work in groups with no attention paid to group functioning,
whereas in cooperative learning, groups work is carefully prepared,

Genetic Counseling
This disease is inherited from parents, and it is dominant, meaning only one copy of the gene is
needed to develop this disorder. It is extremely rare and it affects less than 0.01% of people of
European ancestry. See figure 2 for heredity patterns. Testing
If you want to get tested for Huntington s Disease, a genetic test can be given to see if you carry the
gene before symptoms begin. However, this test does not predict when symptoms will appear and
which ones will come first. If you decide to get tested for HD, you should contact a testing center. A
small blood sample is taken and tested for the defective gene. Samples from family members also at
risk of HD may be required to confirm the diagnosis.

The Causes Of Student Stress In Education
It is often said that college students of the current generation exhibit some of the highest recorded
stress levels. There are many theories as to why these stress levels continue to rise. Perhaps the main
reason behind this rising stress is the fact that society is choosing to acknowledge its existence, thus
making the terminology more commonly known and revealing its detrimental effects the to the public.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze what has changed over the years in regards to education, what
seem to be common stressors among students, how these students learning mechanisms are affected,
and how America can work to prevent academic stress.
An important topic to investigate in regards to stress levels includes that of differences between
generations. More specifically, it is important to analyze what has changed over the years; in doing so,
new findings as to why student stress levels are rising may be discovered. One example of a change is
simply the number of students choosing to enroll in college. Almost every year, college admissions are
increasing, mainly because it is becoming universally accepted to go to college and attain a degree.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Enrollment in degree granting institutions
increased by 11 percent from 1991 to 2001 and another 32 percent from 2001 to 2011 (Novotney,
2014). With more students enrolling in college, there will consequentially be more students reporting
feelings of stress and

Despite huge efforts in child and adolescent mental health care service, most therapies finish without
achieving the therapy goals. Even though therapeutic relationship forms the health professionals
standards, central to mental health care and is important to therapeutic atmosphere (Gilburt, Rose

Argument On The Ontological Argument
1. The Ontological Argument
An argument not based on observation, instead on the reason itself. It is derived from the study of
being (which is obviously ontology)
The first person to propose this theory is St.Anselm, where his argument can be summarized as
follows:
a) God is the greatest being that we ever know.
b) If God doesn t truly exist in reality = There s a greater being out there
c) But... there isn t another greater person than God
d) Therefore, God exists
On the contrary to Anselm s argument, we can t just assume that God exist by just believing in his
existence. Similar to proving a mathematical formula, scientific proofs such as experiment, evidences
and even artifacts are a necessity to verify that God exist. It s almost like ... Show more content on

And that ground zero is God.
One might argue that some things are caused by other things, but this is not the solution to the
problem as those other things have their causes too!
One very common example: who comes first, the chicken or the egg? All chicken had a beginning in
an egg, which is the cause of the chicken. However, every egg had its beginning (its cause ) in another
chicken. As a result, an infinite series of chicken egg chicken egg is found. As a conclusion, there
must be a beginning to everything. This first cause shall be God.
Here is the tricky question where do we even start in order to deduce ground zero for a person s
existence, let alone God s?
If we are unable to truly find out how a thing could even exist and assume the only answer is God
supposing God really didn t exist, how are we going to explain the origins of literally, everything!
With associations to the previous arguments, where they mentioned that God exists as we believe in
his existence, where do we start to find The Beginning ? Exactly, there is no trace of clues to lead us to
the ultimate truth of God s

might have a place like Phantom Ale close by that specializes in supplies for brewing. Phantom Ale is
the best of both worlds, as it doubles as a brewery and brew supply store. As you shop for your
brewing needs, you can satisfy your thirst needs. You will most definitely get side tracked by all the

Effects Of Voter Apathy
Voter apathy is a large and serious problem that is affecting the U.S. right now. If the number of
people that continuously ignore the ability to vote increases only a small portion of the country will be
deciding who leads us and makes the decisions that will either protect us or endanger us. The effects
of these decisions can be in economics and war. Also, if only a fraction of the population votes there is
a much a greater chance of imbalance in politics. For example, this could cause more Democrats or
Republicans to vote and make it too easy for one party to be in office. Every vote counts and one by
one voter apathy can be reduced to an uncommon term. I think it comes down to maturity, or lack of it
at a young age. I believe a major reason

Seawater Desalination In California
California used to depend on surface water but once we started to see that surface water was depleting,
we went straight to groundwater. After many years groundwater has also started to disappear leaving
the question what are we going to do next? . This problem is causing the land of california to sink,
make the next drought we are going to have even worse, using most of the groundwater we have left
faster than it can get filled back up again, and ect. Therefore, the state of California should conserve
more groundwater by lowering the maximum capacity of pumping extractions, recycling water to fill
aquifers back up, and seawater desalination. One main way to conserve more groundwater is to lower
the maximum capacity of pumping extractions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We should be trying our best to help with these solutions because; one of the solutions are: lowering
the maximum capacity of pumping extractions helps save more water in aquifers, because right now
anyone can pump out a much water as they would like, and that is not helping with our drought.
Another solution is; recycling more water to fill aquifers back up because land has been sinking, and
also since we keep on pumping out water and not letting rain and snow melt to fill them back for us, it
will take about 5o years to fill back up, from the rate of pumping out the groundwater. The next
solution is; seawater desalination and one way seawater desalination could work for us is because we
do not have lots of water but we do have lots of oil and the process to clean the water is with lots of oil
to get a lot more water than we have now. So we should be conserving more water because it could
help the state of california, stop the land from sinking anymore, save up more water for the next
drought , and just help the people in the state of California more water so we do not ever run out or

Advantages Of Digital Dentistry
Digital Dentistry
Over the years, the field of dentistry has seen significant technological growth. One of these
advancements is digital dentistry.
Digital dentistry refers to dental technology that incorporates digital components as opposed to
mechanical or electrical components alone. These could include (but are not limited to):
Computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing and intraoral imaging
Computer aided implant dentistry
Digital radiography both intraoral and extraoral
Lasers
Caries diagnosis
Electrical and surgical handpieces
Occlusion and TMJ analysis and diagnosis
Photography both extraoral and intraoral
Digital patient education
Shade matching
Advantages of Digital Dentistry
The goal of digital dentistry is to ensure that dentistry services provided to patients are faster, better
and more comfortable. However, specifically speaking, there are three major advantages of digital
dentistry:
1. It improves the efficiency of dental services both in terms of cost and time.
2. It improves accuracy as compared to traditional methods.
3. It improves the level of patient outcome.
Adoption and Hurdles
While there is no doubt that digital dentistry has a lot to offer and is expected to continue to change
the face of dentistry in the years to come, the biggest limitation to its rapid adoption is cost. Adopting
the new technology, acquiring training in its use and implementation and offering the services to
patients can require significant

The Types Of Terrorism As Well As Types That Fill Our Society
Justin Smith
SRA 211
Midterm
There are many definitions of terrorism as well as types that fill our society. The individual definitions
are different from each other because people grow up in different cultures and form different opinions;
however, more organized are the different types of terrorism because they are grouped with similar
topics.
Religious Secular Religious terrorism is the act of terrorism that is done for a religious purpose or for
a divine cause. This type of terrorism is often associated with the groups of people that are willing to
die for a specific cause and/or religion in attempt to earn religious benefits after death. Secular
terrorism uses political topics to rally a group of people and their actions often ... Show more content

Common examples are school or event shootings or bombings. These terroristic acts can be the most
devastating because the media will cover what happens and the psychological effect will spread to
another who follows the media. Suicide other The act of a suicide attack takes some elements from
other types and can coincide with them. The basic principle of a suicide attack is to go into a plan in
which the ultimate goal is to die for a cause. Most common is the suicide bombing in which people
attach bombs to themselves and go into an area with only one goal, cause mass destruction and ending
their life.
State Sponsored other The act of State Sponsored terrorism is when an organization that attempts acts
of terrorism is fueled, funded, supported by a state. These acts of terrorism may be the scheming of a
government; however, the government does not want to be directly doing the activity. Sometimes
government agents are directly in charge of these acts of terrorism. Often governments use this type of
terrorism to start a war, sway politics/debates, gain advantage, or make money.

About Flare Fragrances: Flare Fragrances Company, a small women s perfume manufacturer, was
started in 1955.
Since inception, Flare has grown to be the #4 player in the U.S. women s fragrance market. For 2008
EOY estimates were $221 million dollars up 2% over 2007 sales. In 1975 Flare introduced the brand
Loveliest which was their sole focus until 1996 when they introduced Awash . Since that time, the
company introduced a new fragrance every three years with Loveliest on the label. Early on Flare

In analyzing this new product introduction recommendation a few things come to mind based on the
findings of Arlmont Associates as well as the focus group findings and the wants of the company s
founders. Flare fragrances typical new product introduction has been every three years and this new
launch is on target to meet the new introduction schedule. Although doing nothing or concentrating on
drugstore expansion are options, if bringing the company public is the ultimate goal of the companies
founders, then historically, especially for investors, it is critical to maintain Flare s historical product
launch schedule. If the company does not it would appear that there are problems internally and

Short Essay On Indiana Myotis
The Indiana myotis has a similar appearance to others of its genus. Body size is generally small, and
measures no more than 49.0mm, with weight ranging from 6 8 g. Weight measurements fluxuate in
winter due to hibernation preparation and are responsible for slight sexual dimorphism with males
averaging 7.1 g and females averaging 7.45 g (Thomson, 1982). Tail length is generally 80% of the
head and body length with terminal vertebra and half of the penultimate vertebra projecting free of the
interfemoral membrane (Thomson, 1982). Wingspread ranges from 240 to 367 mm, and forearm
length measures 36.0 to 40.6mm with female forearms being slightly longer. Ear length ranges from
10 14 mm and the blunt tragus measures less than 5 (Thomson, 1982). Furthermore, feet are generally
small when compared to others of this genus.

Echolocation is used to migrate habitat and acquire food. Indiana myotis feed exclusively on terrestrial
and aquatic flying insects. The most common prey items include, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and
Diptera (Whitaker, 2004). Selection of prey depends largely on availability in the foraging habitat with
diet varying seasonally. Other arthropod groups which are consumed in limited quantities include
Neuroptera, Araneae, Plecoptera, Ephemeroptera, Acar, and Phthiraptera (Kiser, J. D Elliott, 1996).
Indiana myotis typically spend winter months in limestone caves or mines with very specific
conditions. Indiana myotis are generally loyal to specific hibernacula or to the general area near

People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals Research Paper
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an organization who fights against animal
cruelty. It informs people about the issues with animals. It also compares animal cruelty to drastic
events such as slavery, the Holocaust, World War II, etc. It has a history of proving what is humane.
The website excerpt titled Circuses: Three Rings of Abuse from the website peta.org is effective for its
audience of animal rights people, people who go to the circus or support them and others who are
concerned about the circus for the following reasons: usage of rhetorical and stylistic techniques, the
use of pathos and getting information from former circus employees. However, it is unreasonable for
the following reasons: it was unfair with involving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information shows how the circuses are operated behind the scenes: According to congressional
testimony given by former Beatty Cole elephant keeper Tom Rider, [I]n White Plains, N.Y., when Pete
did not perform her act properly, she was taken to the tent and laid down, and five trainers beat her
with bullhooks. It shows how the circus treated the elephant if the elephant does not follow orders.
Most circuses have elephants because they are the common animals in the circus which brings PETA
to interview a former elephant keeper. Another former circus employee PETA interviews is Archele
Hundley. She worked with Ringling Bros. as an animal trainer and quit after claiming to know what
the animals go through with trainers. Hundley said, Ringling Bros. believes that if they can keep these
animals afraid, they can keep them submissive. The circus harms the animals to help itself. Providing
information from former employees gives credibility to PETA to tell the audience that the circus
abused its animals.
PETA is effective in many ways, although it s unreasonable by being unfair with involving an
undercover investigation. In being unfair, Video footage shot during a PETA undercover investigation
of Carson Barnes Circus showed Carson Barnes animal care director, Tim Frisco, as he viciously
attacked, yelled and cursed at, and shocked endangered Asian elephants. Conducting an undercover
investigation shows that the organization approach is unethical. PETA is all about being ethical, yet
when it comes down to researching and data it fails at reaching its

To meet Wall Street s expectations for revenue growth, Ruth s Chris must expand. The logically
chosen model was Market Development Model, which dictated the entry of Ruth s Chris into new
market with same product. The critical issues facing Ruth s Chris are:
1) Which market should Ruth s Chris enter first?
2) Should franchising continue to be the exclusive international mode of entry?
3) Were there opportunities for joint ventures or company owned stores in certain markets?
4) How could new potential franchisees be identified and evaluated?

Japan is also the highest importer of USDA fresh chilled beef:
Japan was also one of the countries with highest population, at 127 millions, and a higher than average
urbanization rate, at 65%. Although Japan was not ranked very high in beef consumption per capita,
its population and high income per capita would make up the difference because a small percentage of
this population could still provide a significant pool of customers. Based on the quantitative criteria,
Japan appeared to be the most attractive foreign market for Ruth s Chris to enter. As a side note, Ruth

consider an expansion to Japan since there is already a products support network in place. Politically,
Japan is a pro U.S. country, and with both countries enjoying relatively free trading atmosphere, it
appeared to be a perfect match. Culturally, Japan s business and marketing meetings are typically
conducted over dinner, and fine dining restaurants such as Ruth s Chris would fit this scenario very
well indeed.

Buddhism And Shinto Similarities
While I was reading these interesting stories, each story had some qualities that where similar, but
there were also many differences. Which wasn t really a huge surprise since the setting of each story
happened during different times, and on different parts of the planet. All the stories involved a special
child, and everyone knew he was gifted. A few characters in these myths have powers, but some do
not. Sikhism and Christianity seem to be based on Monotheistic viewpoint, but Buddhism and Shinto
seem to be based on a polytheistic viewpoint. Each story was either about a god, or a prophet
spreading his new found message to the people.
Buddha, Jesus, and the Kami gods where all conceived without sex. God chose Mary to bear his son

Impact Of Global Security Trends On National Military...
The top three global security trends that will influence our National Military Strategy in the next four
to ten years are proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, cyberwarfare, and emerging
technologies. These three trends directly influence operating environments and impact future Joint
Force capabilities and capacity. Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation of
weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by both state and non state actors is an existential threat. North
Korea s nuclear weapons and missile programs pose a serious threat to US interests and to the security
environment (Coats, p.6). In 2016 and 2017, North Korea conducted more ballistic missile tests than

The Joint Force will have to collaborate with a host of government agencies and allies in order to
promote awareness, enhance preparedness, create a credible deterrence, and improve operational
response in the wake of the use of WMDs. The Joint Force Command of 2025 must not only think
about the individual personal protective equipment against chemical and biological effects but will
need to add another level of protection for troops in the form of WMD reconnaissance/surveillance in
the potential battle space. Cyberwarfare The strengthening of our advantage in the cyber domain
directly influences the operational environment by preventing the degradation of the technological
advantage we currently enjoy. Despite known and predicted risk, we currently have a 10:1 advantage
over our nearest peer competitor China, as regards technology, research, and development. (Miller,
p.11) A failure to protect and defend our cyber domain could have catastrophic effects on our
infrastructure, economy, military capabilities, and even threaten the public s confidence in our
democratic process (CCJO JF 2030, p. A 1). Non state actors use of cyber warfare presents a unique
challenge to nation states in that it has the potential to degrade traditional forms of national power
such as diplomacy, information, military and economic power (Miller, p.34). The Joint Force will need
to look at their use of cyber as a vulnerability. US systems will need to be redundant,

An Interview With An Aspiring Lawyer

Wilmington, Ohio at a place called Rose Dobyns. This particular lawyer happens to be life long
friends with my uncle so setting up the interview was rather easy. I also set up a ride along with the
West side of Dayton s police force but I would not be able to write the paper in time. However, I will
be able to compare and contrast the different sides of the law and will enjoy the opportunity to be able
to see what I am getting into in the future. After making it to Rose Dobyns, I told the receptionist that I
was there to see Blaise Underwood and she told me to take a seat. I took a seat and observed the
office, noticing that there was a copy of the constitution on the wall, as well as fake plants, a toy set
for kids and some nice comfortable seats. I was soon greeted by a tall, bearded man who was not
wearing a suit and tie as expected. I shook his hand, entered his office and began the interview
quickly. He told me that he originally wanted to be in the FBI or DEA when he graduated from the
University of Cincinnati. In his opinion, you can only get to that level of Law enforcement by having
a law degree or many years of police work under your belt. He clearly did not have years of police
work, so he decided to major in criminal justice then pursue a J.D. at the University of Dayton. He,

the Bander log it shows just how in every society there is always a bully, even if the society is just
animals in the forest. One example the bandar log talks like bullies in Kaa s hunting the author
mentions the bander log are chanting There is no one in the jungle so wise and good and clever and
strong and gentle as the Bander log. (Kipling, 42) Of course you know bullies think that are on top of

Strictly Ballroom Baz Luhrmann Essay
Baz Luhrmanns films ARE NOT just adaptations but complete re imaginings, we can deduct this by
analysing his cinematic technique such as zip shots, mis en scene, modern music, bright colours as
well as his cinematic philosophy that entails recreating the true theatre experience by invoking the
original response that would have occurred at the theatre, as well as overwhelming the audience in
order to bring them into the film, to make them a character rather than merely allowing them to watch
the lives of others.
Strictly Ballroom is one of the first films produced and re imagined by Luhrmann, the medium of
Ballroom dancing to bring the film alive, as well as to invoke emotions from the audience to give
them a full authentic experience. Luhrmann ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

this is most certainly not adapted from original play but re imagined. Romeo and Juliet was seen as
risky, passionate and a thrilling play when originally create by Shakespeare himself, in order to
replicate this emotional response from the audience, Baz luhrmann has chosen a setting with a group

cinematic technique used such as exaggerated colours and fast zip shots can again been seen as a way
in which to capture the audience, and make them feel as if they are an existing character in the film
rather than just a viewer. By using these risky elements and cinematic techniques combined with the
original English, Luhrmann has re imagined the story and created an alternative exotic

Analysis of Three Books About Gorbachev Essay
Analysis of Three Books About Gorbachev
The history of the Soviet Union is complicated and fascinating. In the course of only seventy years
this country has seen the development of the totally new system of state, economic growth, the growth
of hopes for the brighter future , and then the sudden and expected by no one collapse of the whole
system leading to chaos, wars, and confusion. One period is especially important in order to realize
how did things finally started to change after the seventy years of blindly pursuing the dream of
communism which left the Soviet Union in a very bad economical and moral state, and this period is
called perestroika, Russian for restructuring. The main figure behind this process which began in ...

This influence lasted for years and the fact that Gorbachev has become
westernized in his appearance, manners, dress and the image he projects of tolerance and cordial
behavior, all the small signs which mark him as different from the usual Komsomol and Party boss , is
according to Medvedev due to a great extent to the fact that Mlynar was Gorbachev s roommate
(Medvedev, 1986, p. 43).
Although the first part of the book is certainly interesting and important I would like to concentrate on
the second part of the book since it is directly deals with the subject that interests me most, that is the
years when Gorbachev was in power and the development of the new course in the Soviet life called
perestroika. From just reading the first paragraph it is obvious that the author approves of the new
leader. Medvedev writes: For the first time in
Soviet history, the leadership succession has meant more than the arrival of a new leader and the
possibility of the implementation of the new policies. The
Gorbachev succession marks the appearance of a new political generation which differs from the old
guard in style, knowledge and historical vision....Gorbachev represents a younger post war political
generation, a generation which started its professional Party or state career during the more liberal
Krushchev era (p. 165). Medvedev quotes some of the very enthusiastic
Western newspaper comments which called Gorbachev a bright, incisive,

Essay about The Impact of Divorce on Children
The Impact of Divorce on Children
Divorce is the dissolution of a marriage that affects numerous people around the world. Divorce can
be a heartbreaking process that affects not just the couple but their children also. I am going to be
comparing the impact of divorce on children in context to Bronfenbrenner s ecological theory.
Individual
The individual in this context is the child that is affected by the divorce of their parents. Studies show
that divorce can affect a child s social skills (Kim, 2011). Research shows that gender is a factor and
that girls tend to be more sensitive then boys about parental divorce (Brockmeyer, Crowell, Treboux,
2009). Another factor is the health of the child. Divorce has an affect on the children s ... Show more

(2) Personality is a system of traits that decides individual qualities (Cobb, 2014a). The three main
factors that influence personality are birth order, temperament, and personality type (book p 169,
lecture in text). Personality develops by different experiences that the child goes through (Cobb,
2014a). Many different things affect an individual s personality (Cobb, 2014a). There are different
personality types that come from our personality preferences (Bristor, 2010).
A child s personality could be affected by their parents divorce. One trait of personality is if the child
is an extrovert or introvert. An extrovert likes to be with their friends and makes friends easily. An
introvert is shy and quiet. Traumatic experiences like divorce could make a child s self esteem go
down and cause them to be more shy and quiet. Another outcome could be if the child was shy and
quiet before the divorce may make them seek friends.
Microsystem
The microsystem in Bronfenbrenner s theory is the child s immediate environment (Bristor, 2010).
There are multiple microsystems in the child s life from their friends in school to the church group that
they belong to. Family relationships are important but with divorce an individual may turn to outside
relationships, like their peers instead of family (Robbers et al., 2012). When the child s parents
divorce they split up their household into two separate

Identifying Organic Unknown
In order to identify an unknown organic compound, a series of qualitative tests were performed. It was
already known beforehand that the unknown was either an aldehyde or ketone. Besides performing
and understanding qualitative analyses, the main objective of the experiment was to determine the
class of carbonyl of the unknown and its nomenclature. Appendix B provided a list of aldehydes and
ketones and their respective melting/boiling points to aid in the identification. The observations
gathered from the chemical tests and derivative were sufficient enough to make an educated guess of
the unknown. Before executing the chemical tests, the unknown went through a physical examination,
where it s physical properties were observed. As shown on Data Table 1, the given unknown was a
pale yellow liquid with a vinegar like smell. The class of the carbonyl couldn t be determined based

One such test, the Tollens test, can test for aldehydes. However, results show that the unknown did not
form a silver metal, but a black solution. Therefore, it was concluded that the unknown was a ketone.
The compound was then observed using the iodoform test which is positive only for methyl ketones.
Based on Data Table 3, the organic unknown was not a ketone with a methyl; no iodoform or
precipitate had formed from the reaction between the unknown and the iodine/strong base. Thus, the
most likely has larger R groups. Another test, the DNP test, was taken to determine if the ketone was
aromatic. After the addition of DNP to the given unknown, an orange precipitate was produced. The
color seemed to be in favor of a dark yellow though; therefore this ketone is not aromatic. Since this
test proved that the unknown contained no aromatic rings, the ferric chloride test, which checks for
phenols, was not necessary to be

Geometry in Golf Essay
Bringing it all Together: The Geometry of Golf
Golf in Geometry?? No Way!
Geometry In The Game of Golf
For hundreds of years, golf has been an extremely popular and growing sport all around the world.
Looking where golf is now, it is growing rapidly from the young to the elder population. The first
round of gold was first played in the 15th century off the coast of Scotland, but it did not start to be
played until around 1755. The standard rules of golf were written by a group of Edinburgh golfers.
Today, people of the US, Scotland, and England, have been drawn to the game because it is fun,
challenging, and hardly any athletic ability at all is required for amateurs. In breaking down the game,

In golf geometry is al around but it just takes one to stand back and look how line, angles, and shapes
are all around. Five geometry topics that are most prevalent in the game of golf include circumference
of circles, parallel lines, triangles, radius and diameter, and angle measurement. If none of these
geometric ideas were in golf, the game would not be here right now. The first geometric topic
involved in golf is the circumference of circles. For people who do not know the objective of the game
of golf, it is fairly simple. Put the ball in the hole. The circumference of the hole is 13.35 inches, while
the diameter is 4.25 inches. It is extremely important that the creators of the course measure each
distance from the tee box to the hole. Also, the diameter of a regulation golf ball is 1.68 inches. The
circumference is 5.28 inches. Though it is not clear exactly how the standard measurement of the hole
came up, it is obvious that it greatly affects the scores of golfers. If it was made a little bit smaller,
scores will rise greatly. If the hole were too be made a little bit bigger, and scores would come down
significantly.
Moreover, parallel lines are very important to the game of golf. In the golf swing, if a full swing is
taken, the club should always be parallel to the ground when the club is at the furthest point back. If
the club is not taken all the way back it takes away the distance and if

The Importance Of Family Stability And Childhood Development
A look at Family Stability and Childhood Development
In the past, scientists perceived the human brain as a rigid and predictable organ. According to them,
based on a person s genetics, the brain developed in a predetermined way, endowing an individual
with a level of learning capabilities and baseline intelligence (Stromberg). However, neuroscientists
are beginning the recognize the brain as a responsive, constantly evolving organ that can change on
several levels due to environmental influences and experiences (Stromberg). A series of studies have
emphasized that although the brain can change for the better, it can also change for the worse. A child
s brain is especially vulnerable to such effects and this research has shown that growing up in difficult
circumstances can cause damage to a child s cognitive skills that last a lifetime. Without a doubt,
family stability holds the greatest impact on a child due to the developmental outcomes and academic
failure it ensues.
A stable family provides a nurturing relationship between parent and child, which is essential for a
child to continue movement along positive pathways in development. From the moment of conception
to the initial steps into a classroom, early childhood development takes place at an alarming rate
(Relationships). Consequently, raising a child is one of the most difficult yet important tasks for
parents. The relationship parents build with their children shapes the way the child sees the world and

cursed through sludge shows the intense deepness of the mud, which weakens the men and causes
them to swear. Owen tries to make the readers feel pity for the men and does this extremely well by
saying All went lame, all blind . This gives us the image that men couldn t see or hear correctly. He
uses the metaphor Drunk with fatigue to illustrate the tiredness of the men. Stanza one ends on a note
of warning; the danger of which the soldiers are unaware, as they can t hear properly. The first and
second verses are all to do with the visual and oral images of the soldiers and the ironic sense that the
men are on their way back from the front line so they should be in less threat, yet this is where one
man is killed. The next verse begins with a shout of danger: Gas! Gas! Quick boys. Ecstasy is used
paradoxically; it shows the speed and panic of the men as they know how important it is to get their
helmets on and yet their fingers fail them. The poet tricks the reader by saying Fitting the clumsy
helmets just in time which gives us the feeling that everyone has got their helmets on; this isn t true.
The next few lines talk about the terror and pain the man goes through as the gas enters his body. The
simile floundering like a man in fire was used to demonstrate the panic created by the man as he knew

The Main Problems With The Constitution
Felix Amza Professor Omowale POS1041 Due 06/23/2015 Project Question Nr. III One of the main
problems with the constitution is what some may argue that the role of the president was not very
thought of and linked to the constitution, therefore jeopardizing the nation to a dysfunctional and
dangerous presidency. Throughout the history of American government, there have been a couple
presidencies which have managed to gain high power and disregard the wellbeing of the nation,
behave inappropriately and even unconstitutional. A good example of what some argue to have been a
bad presidency, would be the case of George W. Bush, which on different occasions, he thought it
would be suitable to disapprove of democracy and legal norms, by acting in ways such as; ordering
government representatives to bypass statues and treaties, not allowing congressional oversight and
jump into unwanted actions such as starting the war with Iraq which was not favored in the Congress.
Normally the constitutions contains systems in place that should be able to counterattack such actions
and behaviors, like the famous division of power and checks and balances . As the government of
America is divided into three powers; the executory, judiciary and legislative, the system of checks
and balances gives the three divisions of government the power of checking upon each other and
ability of taking action when there is an unconstitutional act from one s side. The system of checks
and balances may

Dr. Childer s Sermon Summary
Dr. Childers is the Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Homiletics and
Speech Communication at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is a Presbyterian minister
who has served in congregations in New Jersey and Kansas. She holds a B.A. from Wheaton College,
M.Div degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and Ph.D. from the Graduate Theology in
Berkeley, California. Dr. Childers sermon is a continuation of a lectionary cycle from the book of
Luke. She opens her sermon with a sad goodbye to Luke and the stories of the prodigal son, good
Samaritan and the lost sheep. Her audience consisted, mostly of 40 Caucasian senior citizens. Her
biblical narrative is extracted from Luke 13 and pertains to the woman that was crippled for eighteen
years. To introduce her sermon entitled Softly and Tenderly she asks several questions ... Show more

I do see some usage of Anna Carter Florence s testimony as she herself becomes a part of the story
and invites the audience to join her. I also see Thomas Long s concept of focus and function whereas
the focus is God s tenderness and love and the function being that although we live in a world that is
filled with hatred and violence, God s tenderness and understanding is still available for us to grab
hold of today. Watching Dr. Chiders not only was an absolutely delight, it has also shown me how I
can improve my preaching. Her introduction of questions allowed the audience to put their own
thinking caps on and gain their own perspective. Her body movement (arms and hands were feeling
every emotion), the expressions on her face changed with each new situation, her tone of voice (from
soft to loud to according to the story) the laughter that help offset the seriousness of the story and the

The Chef With Jon Favreau
Top Dog and Underdog
Do you think you are having a hard month? Have you ever felt like the underdog and you aren t every
going to be on top? Then you should watch the movie The Chef with Jon Favreau. The Chef is a great
film about a Head Chef, who quits his high end restaurant job and buys a food truck to reclaim his
creative promise; while piecing back together his estranged family. It is strongly agreed with LA
Times writer Gary Goldstein whom stated, Warm, dimensional and intuitive, this Carl proves an ideal
combo of top dog and underdog as well as a thoroughly credible kitchen master. The Chef can be
highly recommended for many different reasons. One may say, for the famous A List cast members
like Sofia Vergara and Henry Winkler. Sofia Vergara is one of the main actors of Modern Family.
Henry Winkler is also, a known top actor from the 1970 s sitcom Happy Days. Another reason this
film maybe highly recommended is for its great scene locations. The Chef was filmed in many
different foods from the fancy restaurants to the Farmers Market; where the food is displayed in a way
that enhance four of your five human senses. Maybe The Chef can be recommended for the eye
catching landscapes locations from the streets of New Orlando to the beaches of Florida. However,
one may say the film is an overwhelming delightful watch, because it is Jon Favreau writing and
directing.
The film, Favreau directing and writing was so delightful that subsequently the IMdb.com gave

Miniver Cheevy And Richard Cory
A Formalist Criticism: Miniver Cheevy Richard Cory Miniver Cheevy and Richard Cory are both the
works of Edwin Arlington Robinson with a similar format yet tell a much different tale. In both these
stories the tale of an unhappy man is told. Both stories paint a vivid picture of the lives each individual
walked, and how they were viewed from an outside perspective. Edwin Arlington Robinson illustrates
sadness within his characters appearing fairly opposite on the outside, however, depression that is
similarly deep within. Robinson expressed two polar opposite characters from an outside perspective,
Richard Cory being what society viewed as a perfect man with the ideal life. The way society viewed
his perfect life was based upon look charisma, as well as, materialistic things And he was rich yes,
richer than a king (Robinson 85). The life of Richard Cory is one that so many desired, which is ironic
because it was far from desirable for the character. Richard Cory hid his depression so well that no one
would expect a thing, which is common in many suicide cases. The story ends with a suicide, which
can take on a different meaning for many readers. This abrupt ending of a bullet to the head (Robinson
85) leaves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robinson started with an obvious approach of a man who was depressed simply by being born in the
wrong time with the line Miniver Cheevy, born too late (Robinson 86). Miniver s depression was
arguable in if it is really a reason to be depressed, this being something for the reader to determine.
Wishing that one was born in another time period seems so minuscule to even consider being
depressed about. Robinson expressed Miniver Cheery s unhappiness in a way that was almost
justifiable and easy to have compassion for. In the end, Miniver Cheery seemed almost to no surprise
an alcoholic, a suicide would have been less of a surprise in this story than in Richard

How Did The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire occurred on the 25 March 1911. In the Asch building, on the
eighth, ninth, and tenth floor there were around 500 workers present. To avoid theft all the doors on
the floors was locked, except one.The door that was unlocked happened to be surrounded by fire so
there was no escape. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris.
These factories specialized in making women s blouses. Women that worked there were mainly
European and Jewish immigrants that were trying to make some money. Since they made that decision
they were faced with poverty and horrible working conditions. The immigrants also had to suffer
through a new language and that made them an easy target for people

Why Business Management Is Becoming A Successful Business
Abstract Owning a business is often a dream of many people but the reality of entrepreneurship can be
an amazing experience. It takes a lot of planning and dedication for a business to be successful. Small
business management is becoming very popular in the society in which we live. More and more
people are looking to going into business for themselves. This paper will discuss how to start a
business and it will also focus on the importance of family helping to run a successful business.
Owning a business can be good or it can be bad but it takes a lot to maintain a successful business or
even the thought of starting one. Dictionary.com defines entrepreneur as a person who organizes and
manages any enterprise, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although owning a business has many benefits and provides many opportunities, anyone planning to
enter the world of entrepreneurship should be aware of its potential drawbacks. Individuals who prefer
the security of a steady paycheck, a comprehensive benefit package, a two week paid vacation, and the
support of a corporate staff probably should not go into business for themselves (Scarborough, 2014,
p. 12). There are a lot of things that go into owning a small business and planning is one of the major
elements when it comes to even thinking of owning a business of any size whether it is small, medium
or large.
When I begin to think about how important planning was to a business I thought back to my teachings
as a child into my adult life about how the Bible talks to us about planning and being prepared. It also
reminded me the principals in which God teaches us about preparing his people to be sufficient and
taking care of themselves in order to provide not only for themselves and their family but in helping
others also. In planning a business it takes prayer and being faithful to seeing your dream to fruition.
This is not a small endeavor when it comes to a business.
Planning is an important tool in thinking about how a business should be started as well as how things
will begin to come together for the business to come to fruition. The bible also teaches us about things
we should look at when looking to start a business.

The Sense Of Suspense And Suspense In Get Out
In addition, the camera angles add the suspense of the film. After coming to the realization that Rose
hit a deer, Chris gets out of the car and hears the deer whining in the woods. Chris then goes to
investigate the woods for the deer and Jordan Peele incorporates mysterious music and close up shots
of Chris to create a feeling of suspense for us. We become anxious and become concerned for Chris s
encounter with the deer in the woods. Will the deer still be alive? Will the deer attack Chris? Chris
enters the woods and sees the deer laying on the ground, with its eyes open looking up at Chris. At
first, this scene did not make sense to me, but later on I realized that this scene symbolized a hit and
run. This scene is important because Chris s mother was killed in a hit and run and when Chris found
out that his mother had died, he became emotionally paralyzed. When Chris went to look in the woods
for the deer, he too became paralyzed looking at the dying deer laying on the ground. The deer symbol
is brought up numerous times throughout the film to portray the hit and run concept. The suspense and
mystery created by the camera shots and sound in this scene allow Get Out to be successfully
classified as a psychological thriller.
Additionally, Get Out portrays Chris s mental state in a bewildering scene known as the sunken place.
Missy is a psychiatrist in Get Out and claims that she can help Chris quit smoking. By including
hypnosis into the film, Jordan Peele plays with our

Alvin Slippers During The 12th Century
Slippers are a very universal item as every culture has been found to have worn them. They are
defined as any light, low cut shoe into which the foot may be easily slipped, for casual wear in the
home, for dancing, etc. Slippers are said to be invented by a man named Alvin Slipper during the 12th
Century. During this time, a Southern Song Dynasty Officer was the first to reference the slipper.
Originally, slippers were said to be from the East. Here, slippers were used for comfort and easy
accessibility as they were easy to slip on and off. During this time, they would slip this on and off
before stepping on expensive Persian carpets. On the other hand, in the West, the earliest date of a
slipper being recorded was in the year 1478. Some cultures

Impact of Fire on the Geology of Soils Essay
Fires are an important and healthy process in many ecosystems. The lack of fires can cause new plant
communities to invade an area . The regular occurrence of fires can keep one plant community
dominate, like oak savannas. Fires can leave burnt sticks the size of trees and clumps of charcoal
where bunch grass use to grow, but not for long. An area that was burned will re grow, grasslands will
be green the next growing season and forests will typically show new growth soon after. Somewhere
in the process of a fire the soil it travels over is effected. Alterations happen immediately after a fire
passes over a soil and can continue years after a fire has gone. Soils are impacted in two main ways;
by the entering of nutrients form the brunt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The differences between the two may effect how the alterations of soil are disturbed, but both will
undergo the same general processes.
The heat of a fire has many effects on the properties of a soil. The effects are not the same for every
soil type because it depends on what is present in the soil before the fire. In my paper, I will be
exploring different types of alterations a soil may undergo as a result of a fire. The three main areas I
am going to look at are; change in color and structure, hydrophobic properties after a fire, and the
alteration in nutrient cycles, in particular nitrogen. In conjunction with what changes occur to the
properties of a soil, I will also be looking at management practices that can lessen the undesirable
changes in soil.
Effects on soil color and structure
In heating most substances, change in color and texture or structure occurs, this generally holds true in
the case of soils. A. L. Ulery and R. C. Graham (1993) did a study on how fire alters both color and
texture of soils. The color of the burned soils tended to redden in hue and have higher chromas and
values after burning, than did the unburned soil of the same type (Ulery and Graham, 1993). One
reason that the color changed is most likely due to the translocation and transformation of nutrients
and minerals in the soil. As the soil burns the heat alters individual minerals in the soil. The redder
color in the soil was caused by an

Köw Ata underground lake This Lake is located within the Bakharden Köw Ata cave in the city of
Bakharden. Bakharden is located 56 miles east of the capital city Ashgabat. The lake is 200 feet deep
underground and approximately 235 feet long. The lake is heated by thermal springs which keep the
water at 35°C and allow for the lake to be used as a bath. The water contains numerous minerals and
salts and is the home of the largest colony of bats in the region. I selected this site because I love the
Carlsbad Caverns here in the United States and I thought that it would be interesting to visit a place
that is popular with the local population. I have always been fascinated by the rock formations that
form in old Caverns and how you are able to just how old a place is by looking at the sedimentary
layers present. While at the Cave I would like to tour all the different parts that I am able as well as to
swim in the lake. I think that this will impact my understanding and experience of the country because
I will be able to see what it is like to be a landlocked country that has very little access to large bodies
of water. While the Caspian Sea is accessible to Turkmenistan, the Köw Ata Lake is preferred by the
Capital s citizens due to its proximity. It will be a new perspective to have, especially coming from a
country where pools and water parks are abundant. http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/koew ata

Jeffersonian Democracy And Jacksonian Democracy
The Jeffersonian era and the Democratic Republican Party lasted from the early 1800 s to the late
1820 s; this era was known as the Era of Good Feelings because of the single party domination by the
Democratic Republicans, which resulted in political cooperativeness. Following the Jeffersonian era
was the Age of Jackson. The Jacksonian era, also referred to as Jacksonian democracy, lasted from the
time the Jeffersonian democracy ended to about 1840. During this time, though, there was a two party
system, consisting of the Democrat Party and the Whig Party. Jackson personally believed he was
carrying on Jeffersonian tradition through his ideals and actions (GetAFive 2017); although there were
some noticeable changes from Jeffersonian democracy to Jacksonian democracy, Andrew and his
successors ruled with many of the same ideologies from the preceding democracy. Jacksonian
democracy, including both ideologies and actions, was a continuity of Jeffersonian democracy
socially, through the treatment of Natives and slaves, economically, through the emergence of
industrialization and attitudes toward the National Bank, and politically, through the representation of
the lower classes. From a social viewpoint, there were several groups, including Natives and slaves,
that faced unjust actions by both the Jeffersonian and Jacksonian democracies. Natives were
negatively impacted by the democracies and peoples of both eras, facing poor treatment and expulsion
from their native lands.

  • 2. Potential For Victoria s Dairy Industry Potential for Victoria s Dairy Industry to Move towards a Partial Mixed Ration Feeding System Jasmine Hasluck Feed is a major cost in the production of milk so it is important for Victorian dairy farmers to consider which feeding strategy is going to be the most efficient in generating high profit and productivity. We can broadly group dairy feeding strategies into 5 systems (Little, S 2010). System 1 is pasture based with other forages and up to 1 tonne of grain or concentrates fed in bail. System 2 is pasture based with other forages and more than 1 tonne of grain or concentrate fed in bail. System 3 is a partial mixed ration (PMR) fed on a feed pad, grazed pasture and grain or concentrate may be fed in bail. System 4 is a hybrid system, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It requires minimal capital and infrastructure by allowing cattle to graze pasture. However this system has become less efficient as Victorian dairy farms have become more intense and climatic conditions and milk prices are volatile. Since the price of milk became deregulated in 2000 there was a push for Australian dairy farms to become more productive to remain competitive with international dairy industries (Edwards, G 2003). This led to increases in stocking density and ultimately put pressure on pasture supply. Rainfall is a limiting factor on pasture growth and year to year variability in rainfall has had a huge negative effect on Victorian dairy farmers. In 2009/10 Victoria was faced with severe droughts, which showed a fall in milk production of over 340 million litres (Dairy Australia, 2015). During an extended period of low rainfall the quantity and quality of pasture is limited, which means pasture based farms are forced to buy in supplementary feed and/or irrigation water to satisfy the feed requirements of dairy cattle. Climatic variability poses a high risk in this system, which has led to farmers to start considering other feeding options such as a partial mixed ration which might alleviate this risk. Figure 1. Dairy Feeding Systems (Little, S 2010) Partial mixed ration systems combine the cost effectiveness of pasture based feeding with a formulated diet which gives the potential to improve productivity and decrease the risk associated with climatic ... • 3. Essay On The Higher The Better The Higher the Better In Mexico City, 1986, with two scratches and only one attempt left Bob Beamon raced down the track, beginning a jump that would have worldwide repercussions for the next thirty years (ESPN). Bob Beamon, running more like a sprinting ostrich than a gazelle jumped out of the sandpit, setting a personal best by over two feet and a new world record (Daniels). The jump was so far, and so unexpected that the officials only extend the sandpit to the previous world record and used a measuring unit to match. This new world record set by Bob Beamon was just one of many new world records set in the Olympic games of 1986. In this historic Olympics, a new world record was set in two jumping events and in all sprinting events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no question that there are helpful and harmful attributes to elevation. The argument is whether these effects are enough to cause an unfair advantage and are they dangerous enough to warrant a rule to be made about it. There are many things that come into question when addressing the affects elevation has on athletes such as: the effects of air resistance, air density, low oxygen levels, and a weaker gravitational pull (Ward Smith). When people think of elevation most people think of in the mountains or thousands of feet in the air. That is not the case. All of these handicaps and issues can affect athletic events that are held in heights as low as one thousand five hundred feet. At this altitude there is approximately 16% less oxygen in the air (Altitude). At first glance this does not seem like a big difference but when a highly trained athlete is competing this can be the difference between a loss or a win. Another measurement of oxygen intake at elevation is the study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology in 1996, trained and untrained cyclists were asked to undergo a Vo2max test, Vo2max is the rate of oxygen consumed during the exercise test, at while at sea level and again at five hundred and eighty meters. The result: the effects were negligible in the untrained group, but in the trained group VO2max dropped by an average of 6.8% due to a fall in arterial oxygen saturation (Runner s Connect). If a hypothetical athlete is at one hundred ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Italian Culture and Change The World. A spherical globe filled with a multitude of different cultures, nations, and ethnicities. Yet we are all part of the same planet, the same singular race of humanity. When assigned with this assignment to choose one country out of this vast array, we went with one that one of our group members was most familiar with. We chose the beautiful European country and cultural center of Italy. It was one that one of our group members had personally visited within the last year and her experience gave us some amazing insight into what the actual culture of Italy consisted of. It was much more enlightening than reading any book, although those sources were just as helpful in the researched conducted. With this decision we reached the verdict that we would be doing the Contemporary World Issues Project. Then after careful consideration we decided to focus the research and project on the overall change in Italy s population, examining factors like migration, ethnic marriages, foreign residents, and changing cultural values. We also wanted to cover the overall change in Italian culture with the decline in traditional craft making processes and the overall industrialization in the Italian manufacturing and agricultural sectors. The project was started by dividing up the actual needed information into sections for each of the participants to research on their own. We decided to gather up basic information about different sectors of the Italian world/culture. We divided up into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Strategic Rationale For The Acquisition Of Myer Holdings... 1 Strategic rationale for the acquisition of Myer Holdings Limited 1.1 Growth motive The main reason for this Mergers Acquisitions(M A) activity is the growing scale of Premier Investments Limited (Premier). The target for acquisition is Myer Holdings Limited(Myer). Myer is an important customer for Premier with significant common interest. And the competitor, Woolworths South Africa(Woolworths) has already achieved the David Jones acquisition. Therefore, Premier choose Myer as the target for acquisition. 1.1.1 Growing scale and Geographic the acquisition of Myer will greatly help Premier expand its retails into some new geographic regions and acquire more capabilities faster with lower risk than developing them internally. M A activity does help Premier get benefits on location from industry consolidation and acquire the control over supplier. 1.1.2 Competitive position For both Myer and Premier, the M A is an appropriate way to satisfy the higher return for their shareholders and enhance their economic strength. In addition, Premier will enhance its rate of innovation through acquiring new technology and intellectual property. Also, Premier can diversify the company s products into some new market segments and attract new customers and partners. Also, this M A activity can improve the market competitiveness of Premier against other strong competitors in Australian market and such as Woolworths. 1.2 Synergy The acquisition of Myer has the robust view on synergy for ... It s not often that you find a young, teenage girl unashamed in her choice to remain pure. I ve accepted that if I m going to live a pure lifestyle, I can t expect the world to understand my decision. And I blame it all on the sexual revolution. Up to that point in the twentieth century, people were living in a prudish, unhealthy culture that twisted our human sexuality into something that was looked down upon, as something to be ashamed of. Repressing one s sexual desires simply does not work; that s not how we were built. (Remember that whole made from love, created for love thing?) The sexual revolution took the world by storm because they had been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is impossible in an environment that upholds works like Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues, inviting people to reduce their self image to their anatomy. Likewise, there is no dignity in a society that encourages touching another person s body but not allowing that person to touch your heart. Chastity is not about locking ourselves up in a tower and wearing a steel belt all our days; it s being freed from selfishness and the standards of our culture and growing in our capacity to love authentically. Chastity and abstinence are frequently confused with each other. Abstinence is merely abstaining from all sexual encounters. Abstinence focuses on what you can t do and what you can t have. That statement contradicts chastity. Chastity focuses and what can have and do have right now; a lifestyle that brings freedom, respect, peace, joy, romance without regret. Because chastity involved purity in many cases, some people think in means reverting to that puritan movement of sexual repression. ON the contrary, it frees lovers up from that selfish attitude of using each other, making them capable of true love. • 9. The Causes Of Student Stress In Education It is often said that college students of the current generation exhibit some of the highest recorded stress levels. There are many theories as to why these stress levels continue to rise. Perhaps the main reason behind this rising stress is the fact that society is choosing to acknowledge its existence, thus making the terminology more commonly known and revealing its detrimental effects the to the public. The purpose of this paper is to analyze what has changed over the years in regards to education, what seem to be common stressors among students, how these students learning mechanisms are affected, and how America can work to prevent academic stress. An important topic to investigate in regards to stress levels includes that of differences between generations. More specifically, it is important to analyze what has changed over the years; in doing so, new findings as to why student stress levels are rising may be discovered. One example of a change is simply the number of students choosing to enroll in college. Almost every year, college admissions are increasing, mainly because it is becoming universally accepted to go to college and attain a degree. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Enrollment in degree granting institutions increased by 11 percent from 1991 to 2001 and another 32 percent from 2001 to 2011 (Novotney, 2014). With more students enrolling in college, there will consequentially be more students reporting feelings of stress and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is derived from the study of being (which is obviously ontology) The first person to propose this theory is St.Anselm, where his argument can be summarized as follows: a) God is the greatest being that we ever know. b) If God doesn t truly exist in reality = There s a greater being out there c) But... there isn t another greater person than God d) Therefore, God exists On the contrary to Anselm s argument, we can t just assume that God exist by just believing in his existence. However, every egg had its beginning (its cause ) in another chicken. As a result, an infinite series of chicken egg chicken egg is found. As a conclusion, there must be a beginning to everything. This first cause shall be God. Here is the tricky question where do we even start in order to deduce ground zero for a person s existence, let alone God s? If we are unable to truly find out how a thing could even exist and assume the only answer is God supposing God really didn t exist, how are we going to explain the origins of literally, everything! If the number of people that continuously ignore the ability to vote increases only a small portion of the country will be deciding who leads us and makes the decisions that will either protect us or endanger us. The effects of these decisions can be in economics and war. Also, if only a fraction of the population votes there is a much a greater chance of imbalance in politics. For example, this could cause more Democrats or Republicans to vote and make it too easy for one party to be in office. Every vote counts and one by one voter apathy can be reduced to an uncommon term. I think it comes down to maturity, or lack of it at a young age. I believe a major reason ... We should be trying our best to help with these solutions because; one of the solutions are: lowering the maximum capacity of pumping extractions helps save more water in aquifers, because right now anyone can pump out a much water as they would like, and that is not helping with our drought. Another solution is; recycling more water to fill aquifers back up because land has been sinking, and also since we keep on pumping out water and not letting rain and snow melt to fill them back for us, it will take about 5o years to fill back up, from the rate of pumping out the groundwater. The next solution is; seawater desalination and one way seawater desalination could work for us is because we do not have lots of water but we do have lots of oil and the process to clean the water is with lots of oil to get a lot more water than we have now. Religious Secular Religious terrorism is the act of terrorism that is done for a religious purpose or for a divine cause. The basic principle of a suicide attack is to go into a plan in which the ultimate goal is to die for a cause. Most common is the suicide bombing in which people attach bombs to themselves and go into an area with only one goal, cause mass destruction and ending their life. State Sponsored other The act of State Sponsored terrorism is when an organization that attempts acts of terrorism is fueled, funded, supported by a state. These acts of terrorism may be the scheming of a government; however, the government does not want to be directly doing the activity. It shows how the circus treated the elephant if the elephant does not follow orders. Most circuses have elephants because they are the common animals in the circus which brings PETA to interview a former elephant keeper. Another former circus employee PETA interviews is Archele Hundley. She worked with Ringling Bros. as an animal trainer and quit after claiming to know what the animals go through with trainers. Personality develops by different experiences that the child goes through (Cobb, 2014a). Many different things affect an individual s personality (Cobb, 2014a). There are different personality types that come from our personality preferences (Bristor, 2010). A child s personality could be affected by their parents divorce. One trait of personality is if the child is an extrovert or introvert. An extrovert likes to be with their friends and makes friends easily. An introvert is shy and quiet. Traumatic experiences like divorce could make a child s self esteem go down and cause them to be more shy and quiet. Another outcome could be if the child was shy and quiet before the divorce may make them seek friends. One such test, the Tollens test, can test for aldehydes. However, results show that the unknown did not form a silver metal, but a black solution. Therefore, it was concluded that the unknown was a ketone. The compound was then observed using the iodoform test which is positive only for methyl ketones. Based on Data Table 3, the organic unknown was not a ketone with a methyl; no iodoform or precipitate had formed from the reaction between the unknown and the iodine/strong base. Thus, the most likely has larger R groups. Another test, the DNP test, was taken to determine if the ketone was aromatic. After the addition of DNP to the given unknown, an orange precipitate was produced. The color seemed to be in favor of a dark yellow though; therefore this ketone is not aromatic. Looking where golf is now, it is growing rapidly from the young to the elder population. The first round of gold was first played in the 15th century off the coast of Scotland, but it did not start to be played until around 1755. In golf geometry is al around but it just takes one to stand back and look how line, angles, and shapes are all around. Five geometry topics that are most prevalent in the game of golf include circumference of circles, parallel lines, triangles, radius and diameter, and angle measurement. If none of these geometric ideas were in golf, the game would not be here right now. The first geometric topic involved in golf is the circumference of circles. For people who do not know the objective of the game of golf, it is fairly simple. Put the ball in the hole. The circumference of the hole is 13.35 inches, while the diameter is 4.25 inches. It is extremely important that the creators of the course measure each distance from the tee box to the hole. Also, the diameter of a regulation golf ball is 1.68 inches. The circumference is 5.28 inches. Though it is not clear exactly how the standard measurement of the hole came up, it is obvious that it greatly affects the scores of golfers. If it was made a little bit smaller, scores will rise greatly. If the hole were too be made a little bit bigger, and scores would come down significantly. Moreover, parallel lines are very important to the game of golf. In the golf swing, if a full swing is taken, the club should always be parallel to the ground when the club is at the furthest point back. If the club is not taken all the way back it takes away the distance and if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Importance Of Family Stability And Childhood Development A look at Family Stability and Childhood Development In the past, scientists perceived the human brain as a rigid and predictable organ. According to them, based on a person s genetics, the brain developed in a predetermined way, endowing an individual with a level of learning capabilities and baseline intelligence (Stromberg). However, neuroscientists are beginning the recognize the brain as a responsive, constantly evolving organ that can change on several levels due to environmental influences and experiences (Stromberg). A series of studies have emphasized that although the brain can change for the better, it can also change for the worse. A child s brain is especially vulnerable to such effects and this research has shown that growing up in difficult circumstances can cause damage to a child s cognitive skills that last a lifetime. Without a doubt, family stability holds the greatest impact on a child due to the developmental outcomes and academic failure it ensues. A stable family provides a nurturing relationship between parent and child, which is essential for a child to continue movement along positive pathways in development. From the moment of conception to the initial steps into a classroom, early childhood development takes place at an alarming rate (Relationships). Consequently, raising a child is one of the most difficult yet important tasks for parents. The relationship parents build with their children shapes the way the child sees the world and affects ... He uses the metaphor Drunk with fatigue to illustrate the tiredness of the men. Stanza one ends on a note of warning; the danger of which the soldiers are unaware, as they can t hear properly. III One of the main problems with the constitution is what some may argue that the role of the president was not very thought of and linked to the constitution, therefore jeopardizing the nation to a dysfunctional and dangerous presidency. Throughout the history of American government, there have been a couple presidencies which have managed to gain high power and disregard the wellbeing of the nation, behave inappropriately and even unconstitutional. A good example of what some argue to have been a bad presidency, would be the case of George W. Bush, which on different occasions, he thought it would be suitable to disapprove of democracy and legal norms, by acting in ways such as; ordering government representatives to bypass statues and treaties, not allowing congressional oversight and jump into unwanted actions such as starting the war with Iraq which was not favored in the Congress. Normally the constitutions contains systems in place that should be able to counterattack such actions and behaviors, like the famous division of power and checks and balances . As the government of America is divided into three powers; the executory, judiciary and legislative, the system of checks and balances gives the three divisions of government the power of checking upon each other and ability of taking action when there is an unconstitutional act from one s side. The system of checks and balances may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Individuals who prefer the security of a steady paycheck, a comprehensive benefit package, a two week paid vacation, and the support of a corporate staff probably should not go into business for themselves (Scarborough, 2014, p. 12). There are a lot of things that go into owning a small business and planning is one of the major elements when it comes to even thinking of owning a business of any size whether it is small, medium or large. When I begin to think about how important planning was to a business I thought back to my teachings as a child into my adult life about how the Bible talks to us about planning and being prepared. It also reminded me the principals in which God teaches us about preparing his people to be sufficient and taking care of themselves in order to provide not only for themselves and their family but in helping others also. In planning a business it takes prayer and being faithful to seeing your dream to fruition. This is not a small endeavor when it comes to a business. After coming to the realization that Rose hit a deer, Chris gets out of the car and hears the deer whining in the woods. Chris then goes to investigate the woods for the deer and Jordan Peele incorporates mysterious music and close up shots of Chris to create a feeling of suspense for us. We become anxious and become concerned for Chris s encounter with the deer in the woods. Will the deer still be alive? Will the deer attack Chris? Chris enters the woods and sees the deer laying on the ground, with its eyes open looking up at Chris. At first, this scene did not make sense to me, but later on I realized that this scene symbolized a hit and run. This scene is important because Chris s mother was killed in a hit and run and when Chris found out that his mother had died, he became emotionally paralyzed. When Chris went to look in the woods for the deer, he too became paralyzed looking at the dying deer laying on the ground. The deer symbol is brought up numerous times throughout the film to portray the hit and run concept. The suspense and mystery created by the camera shots and sound in this scene allow Get Out to be successfully classified as a psychological thriller. The regular occurrence of fires can keep one plant community dominate, like oak savannas. An area that was burned will re grow, grasslands will be green the next growing season and forests will typically show new growth soon after. The differences between the two may effect how the alterations of soil are disturbed, but both will undergo the same general processes. The heat of a fire has many effects on the properties of a soil. The effects are not the same for every soil type because it depends on what is present in the soil before the fire. In my paper, I will be exploring different types of alterations a soil may undergo as a result of a fire. The three main areas I am going to look at are; change in color and structure, hydrophobic properties after a fire, and the alteration in nutrient cycles, in particular nitrogen. In conjunction with what changes occur to the properties of a soil, I will also be looking at management practices that can lessen the undesirable changes in soil. Effects on soil color and structure In heating most substances, change in color and texture or structure occurs, this generally holds true in the case of soils. A. L. Ulery and R. C. Graham (1993) did a study on how fire alters both color and texture of soils. The color of the burned soils tended to redden in hue and have higher chromas and values after burning, than did the unburned soil of the same type (Ulery and Graham, 1993). One reason that the color changed is most likely due to the translocation and transformation of nutrients and minerals in the soil. As the soil burns the heat alters individual minerals in the soil.
