Summary Sand Production control and mitigation is an industry wide problem and having limited
knowledge about dealing with sand production mitigation works to the disadvantage of any industrial
entity. This report clearly outlines sand production mitigation techniques and more importantly one
treatment technique and one mitigation technique. Using a compare contrast setting key features of
these techniques are explored with the intent of informing and bringing to the fore front two major
entities that must be taken into consideration The environment and cost. This report shows how
natural based processes are more economically feasible and more suited for the environment. Chapter

The Effective Management Of Water Quantity Is An Urgent...
Humans demand the need for the worlds freshwater supplies to be cultivated as the global population
upsurges. With water being one of the most important natural resources, once flowing freely in
abundance, it is beginning to become a highly valued commodity due to overuse, droughts, irrigation
and damming and reduced water quality. Water management is the administration of water resourced
under thorough policies and regulations that ensure a sustainable supply of water for present and
future generations. Australia has the lowest rainfall of all the inhabited continents as well as the least
river water, the smallest area of permanent wetlands and freshwater lakes. Coupled with the highest
levels of water consumption in the world, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Collectively, these are fundamental decisions in which we can improve upon the way we utilise water
as a resource. Individuals, by implementing these decisions, are addressing the issue of water
conservation through the reduction of water use, reducing water pollution and health risks whilst
educating themselves about matters that affect their water supplies (Bliss and Paine, 2010).
Consequently, individuals have been involved in the decision making process, in order to address the
issue of Water management. This is evident through the measures Australian individuals take to ensure
sustainability.
The effective management of water quantity is an urgent issue facing Australia. Therefore, in
response, various groups have been involved in the decision making process addressing the issue.
Supplying Sydney with fresh, abundant and high in quality water is a significant geographical issue. A
range of organisations have the responsibility for water management and addressing the issues that
come along with it. Different groups target different issues such as the quality, quantity, recycling the
water, conserving it and educating communities about the issue. Various groups that have been
involved in the decision making process include The Australian Water Association, Water Group,
Every Drop Counts Business Program and The water management (WM) chair group. The

Digital Convergence Impact On The Film Industry
Media changes drastically over short periods of time because of digital convergence. Just in the past
decades it has become much more advanced and useful for people all around the world. There has
been an extreme advance in media technology, especially that used in film industry. This includes the
creation of analog to digital converters, technology convergence, and the changes in the media
industry and audiences. In this article, I will analysis how digital convergence impact on the film
industry structure, forms of consumption with the innovation of revenue models and cultural
production.
Industry Structure
In the digital era of convergent media, the most obvious about the change of cinema is the storage
which rely on celluloid that you can touch in the past. Now, however, it is stored as electronic packets
of 1s and 0s which is virtual. The changes of the cinema is not only about the film storage, but also the
production, post production, exhibition and distribution which is the main part of the film industry
structure. In the era of celluloid, the four steps of movie is relatively independent and has its sequence.
In digital movie, whereas, the connection and integration among four parts of industry structure are
ever close.
Production Post production
Post production is overlapping with production. The digital non linear system replaced linear taped
based process reducing the cost of editing. The parallel process not only saves editing time but also

Bruce And Johnston Retirement Case Summary
Bruce and Faith Johnston are 64 and 58 respectively and plan to retire within the next 2 years. They
have a combined net worth of $456,990 and if they accomplish their goals of paying off their
outstanding debt and their mortgage, their net worth will increase. Their current monthly income sums
to $5,666 and their total monthly expenses totals to around $4,500 with $1,000 of it as expenses for
subsidizing living expenses for their two children as a result of a late parenthood . With the idea of
retiring within the next two years, their main source of income following retirement is the $235,000 in
Bruce s company profit sharing plan, and the potential inheritance of $150,000 from Faith s father.
Their monthly household expenses include $850 for their mortgage, which has nine years of payments
remaining, $400 for property taxes, $300 for utilities, $250 for insurance, and $278 for their new car
that still has 48 payments left. With their monthly income totaling $5,666, that leaves only $1,166 a
month for various expenses that might pop up and for further investments into Bruce s profit sharing
plan. They do not have any cash assets, which is a negative about their financial situation. They also
have numerous debts which include their $75,000 mortgage, $13,344 for a car loan, ... Show more

Disadvantages Of A Broadway Strike
Any negotiator considering items to included in contract cannot afford to overlook the impact of the
united states entertainment industry throughout the world Wilson, J. (1991). Artist often need to deal
with low compensation compared to the one, who have been with the industry for a long time, hence,
it was quite essential to have a couple of union for providing a fair value for the artists. The strike is
often considered as a last remedy to provide benefits for the labors and workers. It would be
disadvantage for both producers and the artists, as we have seen writers guide of America organized
the longest strike, which cost the industry so much money. It is always considered to negotiate face to
face with the concerned person to provide a fair value, which the union is demanding, Labor staged a

The Psychodynamic Process Of A Steam Engine
INTRODUCTION
A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid.
Steam engines are external combustion engines, where the working fluid is separated from the
combustion products. Non combustion heat sources such as solar power, nuclear power or geothermal
energy may be used. The ideal thermodynamic cycle used to analyze this process is called the Rankine
cycle. In the cycle, water is heated and transforms into steam within a boiler operating at a high
pressure. When expanded through pistons or turbines, mechanical work is done. The reduced pressure
steam is then exhausted to the atmosphere, or condensed and pumped back into the boiler.
In general usage, the term steam engine can refer to either the integrated steam plants (including
boilers etc.) such as railway steam locomotives and portable engines, or may refer to the piston or
turbine machinery alone, as in the beam engine and stationary steam engine. Specialized devices such
as steam hammers and steam pile drivers are dependent on the steam pressure supplied from a
separate boiler.
The use of boiling water to produce mechanical motion goes back over 2000 years, but early devices
were not highly practical. The Spanish inventor Jerónimo de Ayanz y Beaumont obtained a patent for
a rudimentary steam powered water pump in 1606. In 1698 Thomas Savery patented a steam pump
that used steam in direct contact with the water being pumped. Savery s steam pump used condensing
steam to

Essay on Two Perspectives of Viewing the World around Us
There are always two sides to a story, or two ways to look at something. It all depends on the way that
you look at things. When reviewing the works of St.Bonaventure, through Step one in the Ascent to
God and the Consideration of Him through His Footsteps in the Universe, and from Step two, we learn
of to opposing opinions that St. Bonaventure had about different perspectives of the world around us,
for different purposes, and with different results. By reading these two pieces I am able to understand
them, and how their opposing perspectives differ. I also chose Harmony with Nature by Matthew
Arnold, and Gods Grandeur by Gerald Manley Hopkins to compare in relationship with Step two. I

Bonaventure 55). Through the studies of scriptures St. Boanventure goes on to say how God created
us with goodness in the beginning, and how he believes it to (St. Bonaventure 56). In a brief summary
of St. Bonaventure s first step, St. Bonaventure is basically saying that God originally created the
world in six days with a pure greatness in mind. In this Step, and through the studies of scripture, St.
Bonaveture believes that the world around us is viewed as good, and the idea is related through
looking at the world around us with an artistic eye. In Step two from the Consideration of God in His
Footsteps in the Visible world, St. Bonaventure uses a different approach on looking a the surrounding

Step one, St. Bonaventure is looking at the world around us through a scientific point of view, or a
scientific background. St. Bonaventure talks about how man perceives everything around him through
our five senses. He even uses the terminology of information passing from the external organ (ear), to
the internal organ (brain), then to the apprehensive faculty, as a way to describe the idea of how we
take in information and process it (St. Bonaventure 113). St. Bonaventure is looking at everything
around us, and realizing at one time God had his hand in this. Through a scientific approach and using

The rise and fall of Pete Rose has always been an interesting topic brought up in the world of baseball.

Essay on Case Study of Coastline Electrics, UK
Introduction
The changes endured by Coastline occurred in the very specific context of privatisation. In this
perspective, clashes of paradigms are common, in particular in the way knowledge is viewed and
exercised as well as between the past and present goals of companies engaged in such process. As
described by Grey and Mitev (quoted in Wilson, 1995, p.59): If post industrial society does offer the
possibility of decentralization of work and industrial structures, as well as an increase in the quantity
of information and/or knowledge, it is important to remember that these changes have emerged in
particular circumstances, that is, the countervailing tendencies towards (re)centralization of overall
control; an increasing privatization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is due to the fact that engineers power (it is, according to French and Raven s 1959 definition,
both a legitimate and expert power) was largely legitimated by their knowledge, and that losing the
exclusive exercise of it actually weakened their legitimacy both as professionals and managers.
Indeed, engineers managerial dimension was also weakened (although officially reinforced) by the
fact that TQM and team working usually comes along with the concept of horizontal surveillance
among the individual team members (Wilson, 1995, p.66) in which team members control each others
work. Furthermore, TQM procedures and Job Redesign measures (acquiring a part of engineers
knowledge) also provide them the power to check their own work individually and therefore change
then vertical control process by making them more independent of engineers. The programme Partner
Coaching is also a good example of how TQM procedures may lead to a normalisation and therefore
to the controllability of individuals, as Wilson demonstrate: The techniques of strengthening a
corporate culture become the preventives of contamination of employees by rival values and the
alignment of employee purpose with the normative

Kkbg In America Summary
Spies: The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America is a book written by John Earl Haynes. the book goes
into very specific detail of the activity of the KGB in the United States during the 1930 s and 1940 s.
This book which was written with the KGB archives formed the most complete source of soviet
espionage in America. Co author of the book Alexander Vassiliev was given access to stalin era
records and material of Soviet espionage activity against the United States. Haynes also presented a
webcast for this book through the Library of Congress. In the Webcast Haynes spoke about the
background information of his book Spies. Haynes also explained the different sources he used to
write the book, and the validity of those sources. Watching the webcast I learned the importance of
having multiple primary sources when writing a book about history. Not only are primary sources
important, but being able to connect those primary sources to one another proves the information is
valid. Haynes did a wonderful job explaining the connections between sources he used to write Spies,
which turned out to be most of his presentation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Haynes book Spies is because after watching the webcast I know the information is valid and I
know it is a topic I am now interested in studying further. I believe the records, information, pictures,
and facts given in Haynes webcast presentation were to verify his sources and let scholars know that
his book is based on truth. This is very important to students and scholars when searching for proper

The Water And Hydrologic Cycle
The Water and Hydrologic Cycle As we understand it today we know that water is a vital resource and
it is one of the most important substances on earth for all species, plants and animals. All species,
plants and animals must have water to survive to sustain life. It is noted that if there is no water on
earth then there would be no life forms on earth either. Water is also essential for the healthy growth of
all farm crops and farm stock in the manufacture of many products for environmental growth. Apart
from drinking water to survive, humans have many other uses for water. These include: cooking,
washing their bodies, washing clothes, washing cooking and eating utensils; such as billies, saucepans,
crockery and cutlery, keeping houses and communities clean, recreation; such as swimming pools and
keeping plants alive in gardens and parks. It is most important that the water which humans drink and
use for other purposes is considered as clean water. This means that the water we drink must be free of
germs and chemicals and be clear (not cloudy). There are many vital resources of water as well that
are needed to sustain life on earth, but for this essay we will only take a look at three, Rain Water,
Surface Water and Underground Water. Rain Water: Is Water that is collected on the earth in the form
of surface water and underground water. Surface Water: The water present on the surface of the earth

Beauty Character Analysis
Over the course of the novel, one can see that each character has a different attitude and mindset
towards the beauty standards created in the early 1940s. Characters like Frieda and Claudia do not
agree with the beauty standards set by society. Claudia is seen to represent an automatic rejection of
external standards that were impossible for her to meet (Gonzalez 210). They find flaws in Maureen
Peal to prove she is not perfect and they call her mean names. Also, throughout the novel, Claudia has
a hatred for what people determine is beautiful. She would dismember her white baby dolls to try and
find the beauty in them that other people saw. Claudia would examine each part of the doll, trying to
find an ounce of beauty in it until she was left with the metal ball inside of it. In addition, Claudia
hates Shirley Temple, whereas Frieda and Pecola find her cute. Claudia hates her because she danced
with Bojangles whom Claudia referred to as my friend, my uncle, my daddy... (Morrison 19). She was
jealous and mad that a little white girl got to dance with Bojangles, a black man. Also, Claudia
preferred Jane Withers, who played opposite Shirley Temple in the film Bright Eyes. For the most part
Claudia and Frieda do not strive to meet the beauty standards created by society. On the other hand,
Pecola strives to achieve the ideal beauty. She wants to become the white, blonde hair, and blue eyed
girl that society deems as beautiful. People commonly referred Pecola as ugly.

A study by the Palm Center, a research branch from the University of California Los Angeles Law
School, conducted a study a year after the repeal of DADT. The research group wanted to discover
what impacts the repeal has done to the military and according to their findings they concluded: (1)
The repeal of DADT has had no overall negative impact on military readiness or its component
dimensions, including cohesion, recruitment, retention, assaults, harassment or morale. (2) A
comparison of 2011 pre repeal and 2012 post repeal survey data shows that service members reported
the same level of military readiness after DADT repeal as before it. (3) Even in those units that
included openly LGB service members, and that consequently should have been the most likely to
experience a drop in cohesion as a result of repeal, cohesion did not decline after the new policy of
open service was put into place. In fact, greater openness and honesty resulting from repeal seem to
have promoted increased understanding, respect and acceptance. (4) Recruitment was unaffected by
the repeal of DADT. In an era when enlistment standards are tightening, service wide recruitment has
remained robust. (5) Retention was unaffected by the repeal of DADT. There was no mass exodus of
military members as a result of repeal, and there were only two verifiable resignations linked to the
policy change, both military chaplains. Service members were as likely to say that they plan to re

The Pros And Cons Of Vocational Education In High Schools
Worldwide, education, specifically in high schools, varies depending on the location. Some schools
focus on a vocational education, which helps students learn in relation to a particular career, while
others may focus on liberal arts, which emphasizes the importance of core subjects. Each has their
own unique pros and cons, but a vocational education proves to be more effective in preparing
students for the future, providing them with more opportunities, hands on experiences, and a direct
path to the career of their choice. Vocational education is generally provided in stand alone schools or
as additional classes in liberal arts schools. The vocations that students are prepared for may include
medicine, law, nursing, mechanics, and even engineering or business. One major benefit of this early
exposure to a wide range of professions may be that students have a better idea as to what career may
be right for them in the future, rather than not have any idea by the time college rolls around. This is
becoming increasingly important, as in many public schools around the countries, which typically
provide a liberal arts education, vocational classes are being cut back due to budget cuts. By having an
idea of what they want to do, students can begin their studies while still in high school, and once in
college, know what courses to take that will contribute directly to their major. Vocational programs
also help to express and expand ideas in relation to real world topics. (Anyon,

Research Paper On Anne Bradstreet What A Wonderful Woman
Anne Bradstreet What a Wonderful Woman: Essay 1
Having read all of Anne Bradstreet s outstanding poems I ve obtained a greater understanding of the
persona of a wonderful woman is supposed to be. A wonderful woman must be a strong intellectual
woman, who has a true love to her family, and must also have a strong connection with her faith.
Anne Bradstreet began her journey of becoming a wonderful woman by first growing into a strong
and intellectual woman. When Anne Bradstreet was very young she separated herself from the status
queue by obtaining an education that other women in the society wouldn t even think about doing. Her
father Thomas Dudley was a great teacher to his daughter giving her a variety of books such as
Shakespeare, Phillip Sydney, and countless others in his library which allowed her to expand her
knowledge through the books. When she had read all of her books she would listen in on her father s
debates with puritan intellectuals thus giving her the proper communication skills needed to talk about
the ideals of the bible the way she does in her poems. The fact that she did all of this while diagnosed

her family. Each one of these poems strive to show us how family is truly sentimental to her with
words like My love is such that rivers cannot quench . Even in her sorrow she shares her love of the
deceased by saying Farewell dear babe, my hearts too much content . Anne Bradstreet is an accurate

How To Make Sports Safer Essay
Making Sports Safer
For years sports have been a major part of American culture. Sports, like most things, are making
changes to rules and regulations almost yearly. Contact sports get really rough so injuries are almost
expected to happen. With minor improvements sports can be aggressive and fun while being safe.
Maybe not injury free but definitely a lot safer. Professional sports associations such as the NFL,
NHL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR, should take steps toward changing rules, regulations, and
redisigning epuiptment to better protect players from injuries, specifically concussions.
There are now more rules in place regaurding tackling or hits in the NFL on defenseless players or
players in defenseless positions . For example if youre trying to tackle someone making a pass they
are in a defenseless position and therefore as a defender you cant plop down on top of him with all or

market in India (representing 76% of the total vehicle sales whereas passenger vehicles represent 16%
of the total vehicles sales in India) and could be in fact the main competitors of the Tata Nano. Indeed,
they are well adapted to the small streets and their maneuverability is well known in the mind of
customers, and more particularly college students. Besides, these two wheelers have a very
competitive price (Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 75,000) and are less expensive to operate and for the maintenance
than the Tata Nano. As a result, the two wheelers are probably the main competitors as they answer the
same needs than the Tata Nano. Concerning the suppliers, we can see that they can have a huge impact
on the automobile industry, as rising raw material costs can quickly increase the price of the cars,
which was finally the case for the Tata Nano after its launch. To finish with the consumers, the case
indicates that they are looking for low prices but their aspirations are rising. We are now going to look
at the context of the automobile industry. The government s liberalization of regulations on foreign
trade and restrictions on private companies in 1991 helped the car s industry to flourish, with an
annual growth of 17%. However, per capita ownership is low in India, only 12 car owners per 1,000
people. Indeed, consumers are privileging the two wheelers, as explained

Sonia Sotomayor
It s a childhood memory that remains strong. It also contains the elements resourceful intelligence,
acute sensitivity to family, and self reliance that would one day propel the little girl at the stove to the
Supreme Court. I ve spent my whole life learning how to do things that were hard for me, Sotomayor
tells an acquaintance many years later, when he asks whether becoming a judge will be difficult for
her. Yes, she has. And by the time you close My Beloved World, you understand how she has mastered
judging, too. My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor is a true gem. With the perfect balance of
personal details, humor, and suspense, this memoir captures the essence of Sotomayor s life a tough
journey filled with twists and turns. Ms. Sotomayor takes us with her as she ponders her life we re
able to see her broken relationship with Kevin, her childhood memories with Abuelita, and most of all,
the moral and ethical struggles she has as she continues her path to becoming a federal judge. Ms.
Sotomayor is inspired. She believes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There s discussion of whether or not there are too many rights for the accused. Should the Miranda
rights be abolished? Do all of the rights for the accused handicap police and prosecutors? Is a 10 2
jury verdict close enough to unanimous for conviction? I thought yes. To me, it sounds absurd that the
only way for a conviction to come through is by a 12 0 jury verdict. That means if there s only one
dissenter, then the whole trial and case is blown to bits, and justice is not served. I just don t see how a
system where unanimity is the only way for a conviction can work. I understand that the U.S. justice
system is all about protecting the innocent, but when we go to these lengths, it seems inefficient and
unreasonable. Why do we assume innocence in the first place? Should guilt or a neutral standpoint be

1940 s 2003 Film Analysis
While the first film projection took place in Iraq in 1909, it was not really seen the film a cultural
activity or hobby until the 1920s. The role of the first film, such as the famous film Zora in Baghdad s
bustling Rasheed street, I played mostly silent movies of American citizens to the British. In the 1940s
under the rule of King Faisal II of Iraq, the true Iraqi cinema began. With support from the British and
French financiers, it has established themselves as the film production company in Baghdad. Studio

the Arabs and the Jews even. For the most part, it was a purely commercial product, fluffy romances

My Thoughts About The Class
My thoughts about the class changed throughout the 10 weeks in the quarter. I thought the class was
going to be boring but it turned out really good. I really like the exercises that we do in class because
they help you create a better character for scenes. My final performance went really well; I was really
nervous to perform in front of the class because I thought they wouldn t like the scene but after
performing I got great compliments. I forgot some lines, but I didn t let it show so I had to stall so I
could remember my lines and finish the scene. I had a really great partner, we both contributed to
making this great scene we both traded off doing the work like blocking the scene and writing the
script to have a complete version. When performing and creating the script I thought of phrases from
the reading to help me through the scene like: listening to my partner, knowing my lines, creating a
character, and blocking. I think they really help us create a great scene. We rehearsed a lot so we can
could do great for the final we both worked really hard to perform the scene.
Overall, it went really well for the first time writing a script and then after performing it for the class. I
think this class help me create a character for the final scene really well physically and sometimes
emotionally because the character was the opposite of what I would do. I think with the exercises that
we did in class like hot seat that help me get an idea on how my character would sound so

Bans on Smoking in Public Areas
Imagine all of the people that die in accidents such as car crashes, fires, falls, and poisoning each year.
If you add all of these together and then multiply that number by four, you get the number of people
that die because of smoking each year! Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the U.S.
Each year more than 480,000 people die because of smoking. This is just one of the many reasons
why I believe that cigarette smoking should be banned in public areas. I will argue this point in three
ways. First, I will argue that the health effects of smoking are so harmful that cigarettes should not be
allowed in public areas. Next, I will argue that the negative effects go beyond just health, but to the
money of people affected by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cigarettes can do just as much damage if not more than a car crash can. Not only is smoking
dangerous to the health and safety of people, but to the money of people as well. The habit of smoking
takes huge amounts of money from smokers. The amount of money that smoking takes away from the
smoker is enough to destroy their lives. It also takes money from businesses, which is something
many business owners don t understand. These are just a few more reasons why the smoking of
cigarettes should be banned in public areas. The cost of cigarettes are much much bigger than one
would expect. According to The Price of Smoking the private costs of smoking for the average person
that starts smoking at age 24 and lives to age 100 ends up being about 141,181 dollars. This is the
average cost between the total private cost for women and the total private cost for men. The cost for
women is about 86,236 dollars and about 182,860 dollars for men. With this amount of money you
could buy a new home or several new cars. A lot of times the smoker will also ask for money from
friends or family. According to The Smoking Book, the costs that are imposed on the spouse of the
smoker (again if they begin at age 24 and live to age 100) average at about 23,407 dollars. This is also
the average price between women and men. The cost for women is about 15,985 dollars and about
29,037 dollars for men. Obviously, the habit of smoking cigarettes

Essay On West Nile Virus
Controlling the West Nile Virus.
In 1999 1,800 people died from the west nile virus. The death tolls continue to rise, medicine has not
been available to treat the west nile virus only over the counter pain killers. Death tolls have declined
over the years but people are still dying from this disease. The west nile virus was first recognized in
1999 in New York City and had a big effect. We need to prevent this virus before it becomes deadly to
highly populated areas. If the world wants to prevent infections and high death tolls scientists can
make medicines and vaccines before the virus spreads too much to where science can t stop it, the
vaccinations scientists make can also help other countries in need.
CNN observes that the west nile virus is an illness spread by infected mosquitoes. The west nile virus
has killed many people and you should use bug spray when you go outside mainly at night. The
symptoms of the west nile virus take a while to show up and sometimes you will have this virus but
get no symptoms. West nile virus can be deadly and harmless, but then when you get it who knows if
it will be bad or good. ( CNN 2016). This evidence supports my thesis statement because it answers ...

The Morality Of Lying
Most people are vigilant that telling the truth is a good thing and telling lies is a deplorable thing, but
most of us at some point in our lives have been tempted to tell lies and find it very convenient. In fact
there are a number of reasons and circumstances that seems that telling lies is good thing. In this essay
I will firstly explain what morality is. Define moral relativism and moral egoism. Finally I will use
both theories to discuss the morality of lying.
What is Morality? Morality defined in Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics from Dr. Norman
Geisler, First, a morale duty is a good in itself (an end), not merely good as a means. Further, it is
something that we ought to pursue, a duty. Morality is prescriptive (an ought ), not merely descriptive
(an is ). Morality deals with what is right, as opposed to wrong. It is an obligation, that for which a
person is accountable. In other words Morality is the parting from right and wrong.
At first glimpse, moral relativism appears to be interesting, well tough out of a philosophical view.
According to Alan Bloom 1987.25 Moral relativism is the view that when it comes to questions of ...

More importantly, moral relativism suggests that no one set of beliefs is entitled to precedence over
another: in other words, there is no correct morality, just individual sets of beliefs
(http://able2know.org/topic/24585 1). In other words if I believe that lying is wrong and you believe
that lying is right, the moral relativist would say that I am morally right so far as I do not lie and you
would be morally right so far as you do lie. Furthermore there is no standard by which I could judge
your actions or your set of beliefs as immoral, since your actions conform to your beliefs. Hence it
entirely depends on the individual to decide if lying is wrong or

President Truman And President Dwight D. Eisenhower
President Harry Truman and President Dwight D. Eisenhower were each president during the Cold
War. Harry Truman became president during the end of World War II in 1945. His final term ended in
1953. Dwight Eisenhower became president in the midst of the Cold war in 1953 and his last term
ended on 1961. Truman was Democratic and Eisenhower was Republican. They each had many
occasions when their policies had similar intentions, but they went about them differently. Each
wanted to end the fighting and to limit the spread of communism. They each also wanted to help
strengthen other parts of the world. They tried to achieve these issues by enacting foreign policies in
military, political and economic situations. Truman and Eisenhower each wanted to help limit the
increasing issue of communism. One approach they did was getting involved physically and militarily
in the countries that were in need. The peace conference at Potsdam was a failure, because communist
Russia still stood on their own and as their own separate nation. The Soviet Union had already
succeeded in conquering Poland, and much of Europe splitting up Germany. After Hitler committed
suicide, the main obstacle for the United States and many other countries was to avoid the looming
threat of communism. Truman created the Truman Doctrine to possibly stop or postpone this issue. I
believe, he argued, that it must be the policy of the United States to support free people who are
resisting attempted subjugation by

Women In Streetcar Named Desire
During the early mid 20th century, women remained in a lower standing than men. Due to the unequal
roles this led to unequal treatment and domestic abuse since men have more power and influence over
women. Men have the dominant role in society since women were seen as the ones to take care of the
children and house while men worked. Men even had more say in a marriage then women and it was
easy for men to divorce than women. In cases where domestic abuse happens it was seen as a man
exerting dominance over a woman and when alcohol is involved then it made the abuse worse. This is
shown in Streetcar named desire which the men do what they want by often going to bars to drink
alcohol or play poker and retaliate if women tried to stop them. In ... Show more content on

There is a sentence where in the scene three of the play Stella says I want to go away, I want to go
away! (Williams, 58) What Stella says could perceive the meaning as how she wants to get away, but
she can t even though she is hit by Stanley. Stella is restricted by what she can do because she has to
rely on Stanley who has a job. Women reliance on men was the same in early mid 20th century since
women were supposed to stay at home while the men worked. William touches on these topics of
gender inequality and domestic abuse in the play using subtle or obvious ways in dialogue or
described scenes of action. The topic of domestic abuse is shown again in scene five where Steve and
Eunice are having a fight. It starts with Eunice saying I heard about you and that blonde...I seen you
chasing her round the balcony... you hit me! I m going to call the police! (Williams, 75) then Stanley
says to Stella and Blanche in response to Stella s question of Eunice calling the police Naw. She s
getting a drink (Williams, 75). Stanley s reply to Stella s question proves how women can t do much
against men from committing domestic abuse and they would have to find a way to cope with the
abuse. The issues in the fifties are left undealt with and are not touched upon. The reason is the fifties
were a time of celebration after WWII and society was experiencing a rise in entertainment and other
distractions. This meant that people were distracted from the issues underneath the cheerful
environment and society did not want to think about such things in the positive mood that was going

Yoel Reflection
He always stuck true to his idea as during his time in duty at the Nahal outpost he would organize
learning groups and prayer services and bring in the name of G d whenever he could.
He would later marry his girlfriend, Ester Raab. During community events, they would slip away to
the mountains to talk about life and soon later married. After his training, he was assigned to the 55th
Paratroopers brigade.
When Israel announced its independence in 1948 and the UN partition plan was announced, Yoel
stopped dancing and took a moment to reflect. Many thought he paused for joy but the contrary. The
book stated that Yoel sat alone and burdened. In those first hours, I couldn t make my peace with what
had happened with the terrible news that the word of G d in the book of the prophets had now been
fulfilled (Halevi 33). Yoel later screamed out They divided my land in a heaving upset against the
decision stating his unapproved of the separation of many Jewish holy cities.
During the six day war, Yoel was one of the few the first penetrate into the old city, which Jews have
been exiled for thousands of years. During his time in the unit, he would offend correct people when
speaking about religious paratroopers by stating to call them and everyone only Israeli paratroopers.
Yoel saw the power of unity above all and that if Israel were to survive physically and spiritually
everyone needed to come together to fight to survive, and grow as a people.
As wars continued Yoel had an

How Can Contemporary Society Address Essay
Summery
How can contemporary society address the complex interaction of environmental, social, and
economic force that factors and currently limiting the sustainability of business enterprises around the
world, a clear gap created among the words and action , according to the latest global information?
How can federal and state agencies break down silos and work together to pursue sustainability? What
is the preferred model for business government collaboration and engagement with civil society and
nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)? We raise these questions because in the 21st century all
sectors of society must confront the challenge of sustaining economic development while protecting
critical environmental resources (Gutierrez, 2014).
According to Connor, M. (2013), Sustainability Progress more words than action of the most recent

Of mice and men
English essay Explore the ways in which John Steinbeck presents power in the fight scene.
The 1930 s was hard time for most people who lost their money in the Wall Street crash. John
Steinbeck tries to portray how tough life was back then in his novel mice and men. Mice and men also
portray how power was abused and the way that it was used in the 1930 s. In the fight scene power is
portrayed in many different ways physical power, financial power, collective power, emotional
blackmail, status power and people who are disempowered. In this essay I will explore the ways that
John Steinbeck presents power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the fight scene Lennie shows that he has a lot a physical power and strength. John Steinbeck uses
alliteration in the description where Lennie lets go of his hold he crouched cowering against the wall.
He crouched cowering is a brilliant use of alliteration because it adds suspense to the scene they were
in and it emphasis the point that he is cowardly and abuses his financial power over the men and tries
to use them but fails. These words makes Curley look like the bad guy and reminds us of how over
confident he was the first time that George and Lennie met him.
In conclusion power is portrayed in many different ways in of mice and men but there are many
occasions where people abuse their power in the one scene I have been writing about . This is one of
the reasons that life was so tuff in the 1930 s a people didn t have relationships like George and Lennie
s. The abuse of power eventually drove George to killing Lennie because he knew what life would be
like if he didn t kill him. The power and status of people back then meant the difference of being
controlled by someone s abuse of power or controlling someone. I wouldn t like to be on either end
because in the end it destroyed the great relationship that two men

The Change Of English Language
Language is not consistent, it is changing by its nature, either because of innovation, technology, war
or someone s mistakes. English has developed over more than 1500 years since Anglo Saxon invasion
in AD 450 as they brought a set of Anglo Frisian (Anglo German) dialect, which became known as
Old English. This time was the beginning of the development of English language.
The change of English language is divided into four phases: Old English, Middle English, Early
Modern English and Late Modern English. The period of Old English was roughly between 400 and
1100. It was the time when English developed from Latin as it borrowed many words via church. At
that time the language was also largely affected by Scandinavians after invasion and ... Show more

Sometimes, some words fall out of usage and replaced by other for example vinyl is replaced by
M.P.3. All of this is explained by the functional theory, which suggests language always changes and
adapts to the needs of its users. So, people create new words when they need them.
On another hand, words can be created by accident. In 1958, Charles Hockett came up with theory
that shows that random errors and event have an influence on language change. For example,
predictive text messaging is the one example of random fluctuation. Again the language is affected by
technology change and development, today s phones will estimate what word one is writing and finish
it or it can correct any spelling mistakes one have made. Modern phones would automatically add an
apostrophe in its no matter whether it is an adjective or short form for it is or it has . Thus the theory
shows that society s mistakes could also influence the language change.
Another theory that describes how and why new word enter English language is S Curve Model,
which is base on the idea that language change can occur at slower pace then it increases speed as it
becomes wore accepted, therefore creating curve resembling letter S . The model is based on Chen s
idea. For example slang tends to spread in particular way, first when the new slang term appears it will
be used by the smallest group of people and then it might be picked up by

With water being one of the most important natural resources, once flowing freely in abundance, it is beginning to become a highly valued commodity due to overuse, droughts, irrigation and damming and reduced water quality. Water management is the administration of water resourced under thorough policies and regulations that ensure a sustainable supply of water for present and future generations. • 8. The Psychodynamic Process Of A Steam Engine INTRODUCTION A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid. Steam engines are external combustion engines, where the working fluid is separated from the combustion products. Non combustion heat sources such as solar power, nuclear power or geothermal energy may be used. The ideal thermodynamic cycle used to analyze this process is called the Rankine cycle. In the cycle, water is heated and transforms into steam within a boiler operating at a high pressure. When expanded through pistons or turbines, mechanical work is done. The reduced pressure steam is then exhausted to the atmosphere, or condensed and pumped back into the boiler. In general usage, the term steam engine can refer to either the integrated steam plants (including boilers etc.) such as railway steam locomotives and portable engines, or may refer to the piston or turbine machinery alone, as in the beam engine and stationary steam engine. Specialized devices such as steam hammers and steam pile drivers are dependent on the steam pressure supplied from a separate boiler. The use of boiling water to produce mechanical motion goes back over 2000 years, but early devices were not highly practical. The Spanish inventor Jerónimo de Ayanz y Beaumont obtained a patent for a rudimentary steam powered water pump in 1606. In 1698 Thomas Savery patented a steam pump that used steam in direct contact with the water being pumped. Savery s steam pump used condensing steam to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this perspective, clashes of paradigms are common, in particular in the way knowledge is viewed and exercised as well as between the past and present goals of companies engaged in such process. As described by Grey and Mitev (quoted in Wilson, 1995, p.59): If post industrial society does offer the possibility of decentralization of work and industrial structures, as well as an increase in the quantity of information and/or knowledge, it is important to remember that these changes have emerged in particular circumstances, that is, the countervailing tendencies towards (re)centralization of overall control; an increasing privatization ... This is due to the fact that engineers power (it is, according to French and Raven s 1959 definition, both a legitimate and expert power) was largely legitimated by their knowledge, and that losing the exclusive exercise of it actually weakened their legitimacy both as professionals and managers. Indeed, engineers managerial dimension was also weakened (although officially reinforced) by the fact that TQM and team working usually comes along with the concept of horizontal surveillance among the individual team members (Wilson, 1995, p.66) in which team members control each others work. Furthermore, TQM procedures and Job Redesign measures (acquiring a part of engineers knowledge) also provide them the power to check their own work individually and therefore change then vertical control process by making them more independent of engineers. The programme Partner Coaching is also a good example of how TQM procedures may lead to a normalisation and therefore to the controllability of individuals, as Wilson demonstrate: The techniques of strengthening a corporate culture become the preventives of contamination of employees by rival values and the alignment of employee purpose with the normative ... • 15. The Water And Hydrologic Cycle The Water and Hydrologic Cycle As we understand it today we know that water is a vital resource and it is one of the most important substances on earth for all species, plants and animals. All species, plants and animals must have water to survive to sustain life. It is noted that if there is no water on earth then there would be no life forms on earth either. Water is also essential for the healthy growth of all farm crops and farm stock in the manufacture of many products for environmental growth. Apart from drinking water to survive, humans have many other uses for water. These include: cooking, washing their bodies, washing clothes, washing cooking and eating utensils; such as billies, saucepans, crockery and cutlery, keeping houses and communities clean, recreation; such as swimming pools and keeping plants alive in gardens and parks. It is most important that the water which humans drink and use for other purposes is considered as clean water. This means that the water we drink must be free of germs and chemicals and be clear (not cloudy). There are many vital resources of water as well that are needed to sustain life on earth, but for this essay we will only take a look at three, Rain Water, Surface Water and Underground Water. Characters like Frieda and Claudia do not agree with the beauty standards set by society. Claudia is seen to represent an automatic rejection of external standards that were impossible for her to meet (Gonzalez 210). They find flaws in Maureen Peal to prove she is not perfect and they call her mean names. Also, throughout the novel, Claudia has a hatred for what people determine is beautiful. She would dismember her white baby dolls to try and find the beauty in them that other people saw. Claudia would examine each part of the doll, trying to find an ounce of beauty in it until she was left with the metal ball inside of it. In addition, Claudia hates Shirley Temple, whereas Frieda and Pecola find her cute. Claudia hates her because she danced with Bojangles whom Claudia referred to as my friend, my uncle, my daddy... (Morrison 19). She was jealous and mad that a little white girl got to dance with Bojangles, a black man. Also, Claudia preferred Jane Withers, who played opposite Shirley Temple in the film Bright Eyes. For the most part Claudia and Frieda do not strive to meet the beauty standards created by society. The research group wanted to discover what impacts the repeal has done to the military and according to their findings they concluded: (1) The repeal of DADT has had no overall negative impact on military readiness or its component dimensions, including cohesion, recruitment, retention, assaults, harassment or morale. (2) A comparison of 2011 pre repeal and 2012 post repeal survey data shows that service members reported the same level of military readiness after DADT repeal as before it. (3) Even in those units that included openly LGB service members, and that consequently should have been the most likely to experience a drop in cohesion as a result of repeal, cohesion did not decline after the new policy of open service was put into place. In fact, greater openness and honesty resulting from repeal seem to have promoted increased understanding, respect and acceptance. (4) Recruitment was unaffected by the repeal of DADT. In an era when enlistment standards are tightening, service wide recruitment has remained robust. (5) Retention was unaffected by the repeal of DADT. Some schools focus on a vocational education, which helps students learn in relation to a particular career, while others may focus on liberal arts, which emphasizes the importance of core subjects. Each has their own unique pros and cons, but a vocational education proves to be more effective in preparing students for the future, providing them with more opportunities, hands on experiences, and a direct path to the career of their choice. Vocational education is generally provided in stand alone schools or as additional classes in liberal arts schools. The vocations that students are prepared for may include medicine, law, nursing, mechanics, and even engineering or business. One major benefit of this early exposure to a wide range of professions may be that students have a better idea as to what career may be right for them in the future, rather than not have any idea by the time college rolls around. This is becoming increasingly important, as in many public schools around the countries, which typically provide a liberal arts education, vocational classes are being cut back due to budget cuts. By having an idea of what they want to do, students can begin their studies while still in high school, and once in college, know what courses to take that will contribute directly to their major. Tata Nano in India Positioning the Tata Nano (A) and (B) This case deals with the positioning of the Tata Nano for its launch and after its launch , a new version of ultra low cost cars produced by Tata Motors Ltd. for the India s market. The Tata Nano aimed to revolutionize the India s market. First, the goal of the Tata Nano was to be the smallest in order to be maneuverable, as the streets in India were extremely small and unsafe. At the same time, the Tata Nano had to be the most affordable car in India, at a price of Rs. 1 lakh, in order to allow everyone to afford this car and more particularly those who could not afford a car before. To finish, we can see that the two wheelers (motorbikes, etc.) are clearly dominating the vehicles sales market in India (representing 76% of the total vehicle sales whereas passenger vehicles represent 16% of the total vehicles sales in India) and could be in fact the main competitors of the Tata Nano. Indeed, they are well adapted to the small streets and their maneuverability is well known in the mind of customers, and more particularly college students. Besides, these two wheelers have a very competitive price (Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 75,000) and are less expensive to operate and for the maintenance than the Tata Nano. As a result, the two wheelers are probably the main competitors as they answer the same needs than the Tata Nano. Concerning the suppliers, we can see that they can have a huge impact on the automobile industry, as rising raw material costs can quickly increase the price of the cars, which was finally the case for the Tata Nano after its launch. To finish with the consumers, the case indicates that they are looking for low prices but their aspirations are rising. We are now going to look at the context of the automobile industry. The government s liberalization of regulations on foreign trade and restrictions on private companies in 1991 helped the car s industry to flourish, with an annual growth of 17%. However, per capita ownership is low in India, only 12 car owners per 1,000 people. Indeed, consumers are privileging the two wheelers, as explained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That means if there s only one dissenter, then the whole trial and case is blown to bits, and justice is not served. I really like the exercises that we do in class because they help you create a better character for scenes. My final performance went really well; I was really nervous to perform in front of the class because I thought they wouldn t like the scene but after performing I got great compliments. I forgot some lines, but I didn t let it show so I had to stall so I could remember my lines and finish the scene. I had a really great partner, we both contributed to making this great scene we both traded off doing the work like blocking the scene and writing the script to have a complete version. When performing and creating the script I thought of phrases from the reading to help me through the scene like: listening to my partner, knowing my lines, creating a character, and blocking. I think they really help us create a great scene. We rehearsed a lot so we can could do great for the final we both worked really hard to perform the scene. Overall, it went really well for the first time writing a script and then after performing it for the class. Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. Each year more than 480,000 people die because of smoking. This is just one of the many reasons why I believe that cigarette smoking should be banned in public areas. I will argue this point in three ways. • 28. The Morality Of Lying Most people are vigilant that telling the truth is a good thing and telling lies is a deplorable thing, but most of us at some point in our lives have been tempted to tell lies and find it very convenient. In fact there are a number of reasons and circumstances that seems that telling lies is good thing. In this essay I will firstly explain what morality is. Define moral relativism and moral egoism. Finally I will use both theories to discuss the morality of lying. What is Morality? Morality defined in Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics from Dr. Norman Geisler, First, a morale duty is a good in itself (an end), not merely good as a means. Further, it is something that we ought to pursue, a duty. Morality is prescriptive (an ought ), not merely descriptive (an is ). Morality deals with what is right, as opposed to wrong. It is an obligation, that for which a person is accountable. In other words Morality is the parting from right and wrong. At first glimpse, moral relativism appears to be interesting, well tough out of a philosophical view. Dwight Eisenhower became president in the midst of the Cold war in 1953 and his last term ended on 1961. Truman was Democratic and Eisenhower was Republican. They each had many occasions when their policies had similar intentions, but they went about them differently. Each wanted to end the fighting and to limit the spread of communism. They each also wanted to help strengthen other parts of the world. They tried to achieve these issues by enacting foreign policies in military, political and economic situations. Truman and Eisenhower each wanted to help limit the increasing issue of communism. One approach they did was getting involved physically and militarily in the countries that were in need. The peace conference at Potsdam was a failure, because communist Russia still stood on their own and as their own separate nation. The Soviet Union had already succeeded in conquering Poland, and much of Europe splitting up Germany. After Hitler committed suicide, the main obstacle for the United States and many other countries was to avoid the looming threat of communism. Women reliance on men was the same in early mid 20th century since women were supposed to stay at home while the men worked. John Steinbeck uses alliteration in the description where Lennie lets go of his hold he crouched cowering against the wall. He crouched cowering is a brilliant use of alliteration because it adds suspense to the scene they were in and it emphasis the point that he is cowardly and abuses his financial power over the men and tries to use them but fails. English has developed over more than 1500 years since Anglo Saxon invasion in AD 450 as they brought a set of Anglo Frisian (Anglo German) dialect, which became known as Old English. This time was the beginning of the development of English language. The change of English language is divided into four phases: Old English, Middle English, Early Modern English and Late Modern English. The period of Old English was roughly between 400 and 1100. It was the time when English developed from Latin as it borrowed many words via church. At that time the language was also largely affected by Scandinavians after invasion and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes, some words fall out of usage and replaced by other for example vinyl is replaced by M.P.3. All of this is explained by the functional theory, which suggests language always changes and adapts to the needs of its users. So, people create new words when they need them. On another hand, words can be created by accident. In 1958, Charles Hockett came up with theory that shows that random errors and event have an influence on language change. For example, predictive text messaging is the one example of random fluctuation. Again the language is affected by technology change and development, today s phones will estimate what word one is writing and finish it or it can correct any spelling mistakes one have made. Modern phones would automatically add an apostrophe in its no matter whether it is an adjective or short form for it is or it has . Thus the theory shows that society s mistakes could also influence the language change. Another theory that describes how and why new word enter English language is S Curve Model, which is base on the idea that language change can occur at slower pace then it increases speed as it becomes wore accepted, therefore creating curve resembling letter S . The model is based on Chen s idea. For example slang tends to spread in particular way, first when the new slang term appears it will be used by the smallest group of people and then it might be picked up by ...
