Critical reading involves analyzing written material by questioning it and thinking deeply about it. It begins with curiosity to learn about any topic. When analyzing text, ask questions without needing conclusions, but to explore the topic more deeply. Questions to consider include why the author chose to tell the story or make an argument. There may not be right answers, just the author's intentions and your own interpretations. Curiosity and critical reading go hand in hand, as it's hard to analyze without interest in the topic.

Curiosity means that you
have a desire to learn about
anything and everything.

to ask questions .Analysis does not
have to lead to conclusions, it need
only lead you toward a deeper
examination. When it does lead to
answers, however, it makes for a
more satisfying reading experience.

5. When looking for answers from any
text, start by asking why? Why did
the autor need to tell this story?
Why did the author need to reveal
this particular argument?

6. Keep in mind that there are not right
answers when you read – There are
only the author’s intentions and
your interpretetions.

7. Curiosity and critical reading go hand in
hand. It’s very difficult to analyze a text
if you’re not even a little bit interested
in anything about it.

What’s your opinion?
