The Similarities Of Jack Ma And Indra Nooyi
Jack Ma and Indra Nooyi share very common similarities regarding their leadership stories which
appear to be strong catalysts in shaping their leadership purpose. They both came from rather simple
beginnings, Indra was raised by a strict conservative Brahmin family in Southern India and Jack was
repeatedly rejected for his plans of starting an internet company in America. Not deterred by that
experience Jack then returned to China with no money but a solid business idea. While it is clear in
watching them that these are leaders who remain quite humble about their achievements, Jack
especially is someone who happily admits he has made a lot of errors on his path to success, stating
his plans to write the book Alibaba s 1001 mistakes, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with this they both have excellent cognitive and behavioural complexity spoken of by Quinn et
al, this is demonstrated not only by their successes but having a strong view towards the future of not
only their respective companies but also the sustainability of the world. Indra who states I think we re
living in a world and worrying about the level of returns rather than the sustainability of the returns
(Institute 2014) and also mentioning leaders who run the company for only their duration and leave
the next CEO to pick up the debris (Institute 2014). By putting the company ahead of her own ego this
again draws a strong correlation to the humble nature of Jack Ma and his plan of sustainability for the
people and small business owners of China. Jack appears to be someone who wishes to change China
and ultimately the world for the better, made clear by him saying I don t feel proud of how much
money I ve made, I feel proud at how much I ve been able to help small business (Business 2011), and
to have people stop him in the street commenting they opened a small store on TaoBao and they re
doing well, it s clear that doing what s best for the people resonates with Jack strongly, further
strengthened by him saying When you have 1 billion, that s not your money, that s the societies trust

Chemical Reactions Essay
Chemical Reactions
Chemical reactions are the heart of chemistry. People have always known that they exist.
The Ancient Greeks were the firsts to speculate on the composition of matter. They thought that it was
possible that individual particles made up matter.
Later, in the Seventeenth Century, a German chemist named Georg Ernst Stahl was the first to
postulate on chemical reaction, specifically, combustion. He said that a substance called phlogiston
escaped into the air from all substances during combustion.
He explained that a burning candle would go out if a candle snuffer was put over it because the air
inside the snuffer became saturated with phlogiston. According to his ideas, wood is made up of
phlogiston and ash, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are now many classification systems to classify the different types of reactions. These include
decomposition, polymerization, chain reactions, substitute reactions, elimination reactions, addition
reactions, ionic reactions, and oxidation reduction reactions.
Decomposition reactions are reactions in which a substance breaks into smaller parts. As an example,
ammonium carbonate will decompose into ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water. Polymerization
reactions are reactions in which simpler substances combine to form a complex substance. The thing
that makes this reaction unusual is that the final product is composed of hundreds of the simpler
reagent (a substance that contributes to a chemical reaction) species. One example is the
polymerization of terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol to form the polymer called Dacron, a fibre, or
Mylar, in sheet form:
nH2OC(C6H4)CO2H + nHOCH2CH2OH [...OC(C6H4)CO2CH2CH2O...]n 2nH2O
in which n is a large number of moles. A chain reaction is a series of smaller reactions in which the
previous reaction forms a reagent for the next reaction. The synthesis of hydrogen bromide is a good
example:
H2 + Br2 2HBr
This is a simple equation that doesn t properly prove the reaction. It is very complex and starts with
this:
Br2 2Br
The next three reactions are related and should be grouped together. A substation reaction is a reaction
in which a substance loses one or more atoms and

Operation Barbarossa Essay
Operation Barbarossa
Did you know that over 830,000 Germans died during Operation Barbarossa? Operation Barbarossa
was the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union enacted by Hitler and carried out by Nazi troops. But the
Nazis were not the only ones who suffered colossal losses. The soviets had over 4,000,000 military
casualties, but somehow, the U.S.S.R. defeated the Germans and was able to shove them out of their
land. This defeat definitely had a major effect on WWII s outcome due to the massive Nazi force that
was allotted to Operation Barbarossa and their failure to take command of the U.S.S.R. The key points
of Operation Barbarossa were who planned it, why they planned it, the events that had major effects

His primary goals were to capture Moscow to boost morale, and then take control of the Baku Oil
Fields. After the U.S.S.R. would fall, many Nazi soldiers would be demilitarized and would be
brought back to Germany to help with a labor shortage and the Nazis would not have to worry about
oil shortages anymore due to the control of the Baku Oil fields. The strategy that was used was The
Three Prong Assault. One group would head for Leningrad, another would head for Moscow, and
another would attempt to conquer the Baku Oil fields. In the first days of the assault, the Nazis
bombed Soviet airfields, destroying one quarter of their aerial army and large cities. The U.S.S.R.
retaliated by presenting a patriotic speech to motivate Soviets, and mobilizing its troops. In just one
week, the Nazis had accomplished some rather large objectives.
One of the larger events in Operation Barbarossa was the Siege of Leningrad. Army Group North
(Nazi) had finally reached its primary goal; Leningrad. However, the Soviets were not willing to give
this city up, and were able to repel the Nazis and hold the city. The Nazis were not going to put up
with this nonsense, so they blockaded the city and tried to starve them out, along with constant
artillery fire and nonstop attempts to invade the city. The stubborn Russians did not surrender, held
them back, and finally pushed the pestering Nazis

Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Depression
Social Anxiety Disorder
Social anxiety disorder it s an intense worry or fear of social situations that involve interactions with
others. It is categorized as a Phobia a persistent and irrational fear of a specific object, situation, or
activity. This leads to feelings of inadequacy, self consciousness, and depression. The person suffering
of social anxiety disorder may believe that all eyes are on them at all times, fear of being judge by
others, and have a strong fear of embarrassing themselves. Social anxiety is the third largest mental
health case issue in the world, and it can affect 10% of the population at any given time. Social
Anxiety disorder usually begins in childhood or adolescence. Is more prevalent among women than
men.
Everyone can relate to feeling anxious before giving a presentation, but those with social anxiety
disorder experience an intense fear of being looked at closely and negatively evaluated by others in
social or performance situations. Some literally feel sick from fear in nonthreatening situations. Some
may become anxious during routine activities such as starting a conversation with a stranger,
participating in class, dating and attending parties. Physical symptoms of social anxiety disorder may
include blushing, profuse sweating, trembling, nausea, rapid heartbeat, and shortness of breath,
dizziness or lightheadedness, headaches and feeling of detachment and loss of self control.
Psychological symptoms of social anxiety disorder may include

The girls saddled up and were already on their way to the crash site. They slowly walked through the
thick snow under the treads of their winter leather boots, before disappearing into the thick fog that
permeated around them. As for the boot prints that they left behind, it did not take long for the
snowfall to completely bury them. So much so that over the course of the next hours, there was hardly
anything in the way of a sign that they were once there. *** (Several minutes later) Connelly and his
fellow legionnaires were already running against time at trying to search for evidence of a new
invention that the Union was trying to experiment on one that utilized, according to RGA reports
received from Nightingale and Plaid Circle intelligence, something referred to as spiritualistic dynamo

a desire to experiment with this technology by orchestrating a head lice infestation in one of the

Strategic Marketing Objectives
Our marketing objective is to promote the BMW MINI to our target audience of driving consumers in
their mid twenties to thirties with heavy television, print, and outdoor campaigning. The MINI will
kick off its introduction with the first of seven new TV spots breaking on October 26th during Sunday
Night Football on ESPN. The television campaign will continue to roll out over October and
November on cable networks including CNBC, CNN, MTV and VH1. The strategy is to include this
broad range of drivers offering them opportunities to take their driving experience to a whole new
level, while gaining their trust and loyalty. Spot television buys will concentrate on morning news,
prime time, late news, and weekend sporting events in top sales markets. We want to continually focus
on our message to our consumer market of empowerment, independence, performance, value, and fun
associated with taking ownership of the new MINI.
Print advertising, which includes a large concentration of gatefolds, will include similar messaging to
that of the television ads and will begin appearing in the October issues of more than 50 magazine
titles. A special two page layout will appear in the Wall Street Journal, along with USA Today as our
development team focuses on celebrating the reintroduction of the MINI. In addition to our print

A Meta Analysis Of Schizophrenia Used By Heinrichs And...
Within the 47 studies, were wide ranges of neuropsychological tests including 156 cognitive test
variables. This meta analysis categorized the tests into ten broad, separable cognitive domains
allowing for a general outline. These tests were categorized based on a similar outline for a meta
analysis of schizophrenia used by Heinrichs and Zakzanis in 1998. These ten cognitive domains
support quantitative and interpretive comparisons and include: immediate verbal memory, attention
(divided into three subdomains of processing speed, working memory, and vigilance), nonverbal
memory, general cognitive ability, language functions, visuospatial abilities, delayed verbal memory
and learning strategies, executive functioning, social cognition, and motor skills. Studies show
medium to large deficits for first episode schizophrenia samples compared to the control samples.
Testing indicated first episode samples preform worse and show impairments in each domain category
compared to control samples based on negative ES values. In addition, analyses showed significant
heterogeneity amongst all ten domains (Mesholam Gately et al., 2009).
It is evident that there are significant impairments among first episode samples in the three groups of
memory, specifically in both serial list learning and story memory immediate recall where SMDs were
1.20. A smaller ES (SMD of 0.85) was found in delayed verbal memory and learning strategies;
similarly, the nonverbal memory domain SMD was 0.91. All

Super Mario Run fans are excited with the news that Nintendo and Apple are talking on a partnership.
The landmark game will launch on the App Store for iPhone and iPad this week. As gamers now,
Nintendo has always made Mario games for their own console.
When Super Mario Run was featured in apple s App Store, there were millions who signed up for
notification. This seems to be a good indication both for Nintendo and Apple. Shigeru Miyamoto
appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to speak about the Super Mario Run on Apple and
also about Nintendo Switch.
However, some gamers are concerned about Mario, being older at 35 years old than the most gamers,
will not sell as much as the Minecraft. The Nintendo character has already lost some dedicated gamers

Are Video Games Art No But Playing Them Can Be Summary
In response to the article titled, Are Video Games Art? No But Playing Them Can Be, by author Phil
Hartup, he makes the argument that video games are not art, but rather the audience that engages
themselves in playing them makes it art. The author uses examples such as Mona Lisa and Michael
Bay just to support his claim, and while his claims are interesting, some of the stuff he says can be
ridiculous, in my opinion. I, myself, disagree with most of his claims. Video games have a big
influence on communities just like art, and not only that, but without graphic ARTISTS, we wouldn t
be able to have these video games that we have today. Video games, in my opinion have so much
creativity in them that they should be considered as art.
Hartup introduces his claim by giving examples of art such as the Mona Lisa and a few examples of
things with what Michael Bay does in movies. There is no direct dialogue with art, says Hartup, in
which this case, I must disagree. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, meaning that all
those details in paintings you see must give you some dialogue if you think about it. Many people
around the world are influenced and engaged with the dialogue of art, trying to find a deep meaning to
them, just like they are engaged in most video games in the same way. There is a lot of controversy
with people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was very structured and well put together, but in the end, I don t agree with most of the things he
says. I believe that if video games can tell a story and make the players feel like they got something
out of it, just like how art does as well, then why is there such a big controversy over this topic? The
way I see it, and how I will continue to see it, is that video games is just like art due to the emotions it
brings to players, and by me saying that it s like art, I think it s safe to say that in a way, it is

Review Of My Mind
Before watching Temple Grandin, I only knew of the little details that we had discussed in class, and
hearing stories of parents whom I know that have a child with autism. In my mind autism was
something small , only knowing a little less than a handful of people that have autism or have children
or family members with autism. With my little knowledge of the prominent disorder , the image of
autism were ones of those which I had heard stories, such as little to no speaking, continuous routines,
limited relationships, and anger. To me this was the definition of autism. Then the movie completely
opened my mind to things that I didn t know. Autism is not the same all around, every child s disorder
is different. Right off the bat, the movie really made my mind think. When temple is standing in the
room and looks very tall, and then moves to the other side and she gets smaller. I immediately
compared it to autism, and how just because the image appears one way, doesn t mean all images are
the same. Just as she was tall and got shorter the rage of autism varies, and what you see on the
outside isn t always what is going on the inside. This movie made that point very clear. In the begging
of the movie, temple goes to live with her aunt for the summer before she started college to hep her
get her mind off of things. You can see she has a hard time communicating, and needs a routine such
as her name on her door so she knows its her room. And if that norm or routine is

The Importance Of A Good Society Is Not Achieved By Chance...
The quantitative analysis of the merit of a society is one very multifaceted and complex task; however,
one truth remains certain: a good society is not achieved by chance or by default. Each and every
successful society has succeeded because at a certain point, members of the society acted collectively
to create structure and organization. Universities and institutions, transportation networks, and public
healthcare, are all structures that have been put in place to help individuals succeed in various areas.
From Travels of a T shirt in the Global Economy, it is evident that without necessary trade,
negotiations, and boundaries, the millions of T shirts produced would not be able to flow across global
communities, bringing alongside them countless job opportunities, more effective governance
systems, and enhanced research and innovations. Clearly, one of the key aspects of a good functioning
society is the establishment of good and effective structures. While the best form of that structure can
be debated, the fact that a good society needs structure and organization is a fixed and fundamental
condition. In order for this structure to provide a foundation of a good society, there are a few other
conditions that must follow among them are attentiveness to all members of the society, commitment
to universal values, and flexibility to change and adapt. In addition to structure, a good society is one
that works to help all members thrive, especially individuals at the

group of a few people that I know. I tend to stay in my comfort zone. I watch and listen to how people
act. I trust my instincts on whether or not I should open up about myself and things I have gone

In the most general sense of the word, a concrete is a substance that solidifies to act as glue. Romans
were the first to use modern cement for purposes of masonry made of crushed stone with vivid lime as
binder. They named this substance caementicium opus which was later referred to as cement,
cimentim , cäment and cement.
Cement is mainly used in construction. It is a gray powdery substance burnt lime and clay, mixed with
water and sand to make mortar (a paste used to bind the building blocks together and fill the spaces
between them) or with water, sand and gravel to make concrete (one strong durable construction
material).

Therefore, in 1956, the government, with the help of the Industrial Development Corporation of
Pakistan (PIDC), laid the foundation for two cement units Daudkel and Hyderabad and then more
plants were established in the private sector.
These measures lead to dramatic improvement in productivity of cement, and created opportunities to
other entrepreneurs and investors to work in this sector. This step helped in bridging the gap between
demand and supply in the market. Five cement factories were established during initial thirty years
after independence with a total capacity of 3.2 million tons despite the fact that Pakistan is rich in
deposits of limestone, clay and gypsum, which is the basic raw material for the. The situation not only
stabilized but improved enough for the country to export cement for the first time in 1966. At that
time, the government allowed 4% of local production to be exported. This is vital, because the
government did not want to create any shortage locally. Exports amounted to about 30% of local
production in 1970.

Analysis of the Case Law
Analysis of the Case Law There is no prescribed constitutional relationship between the courts and the
executive, but the judges assert their inherent power, derived from the rule of law, to review executive
actions
The question starts off by giving us an element of the separation of powers when it says that there is
no prescribed constitutional relationship between the courts and the executives.
The concept of separation of powers propounded by Montesquieu, the French political philosopher,
has three main criteria:

The starting point for judicial review of administrative action is that public authorities will be
restrained from exceeding their powers (acting ultra vires) and inferior tribunals will be prevented
from exceeding the limits of their jurisdiction. This important constitutional function of containing
both the Executive and inferior tribunals within the limits of their authority has long been exercised by
the courts. In the seventeenth century it was established that the Crown could not set itself above the
law by a bare assertion of prerogative. Today, the ultra vires doctrine prevents public authorities from
doing anything the law forbids, or taking action for which they have no statutory authority.
The term Ultra vires was first generally used to denote excess of legal authority by independent
statutory bodies and railway companies in the middle years of nineteenth century,[2] though the main
features to the doctrine to which this name was given had already been taking shape over a long
period in relation to the powers of common law corporations. The term came to be used in relation to
municipal corporations, then to the other new types of local government authorities, and finally to the
Crown and its servants and even to inferior judicial bodies.

Inherit The Wind, By Charles Darwin
Every living thing on this planet has evolved from the same original specie. Having this information,
could it not be concluded that all living things are, to some degree, related? Yes. To further explain,
evolution is a theory that states that organisms have diversified or in other words, have changed into a
more complex living thing. In the book Inherit The Wind, the townsfolk of the play disagree heavily
with the theory of evolution. Common ancestry is the theory that states that all living things share a
common ancestor or common descendent, which then ties into evolution. Speciation, both allopatric
and parapatric, show evidence for common ancestry. Speciation is when new species arise due to an
evolutionary process. There are multiple and observable accounts that are used to support the theory of
common ancestry. Charles Darwin s book, The Descent of Man And Selection in Relation to Sex, goes
into specifics with these accounts with placental mammals. Placental mammals are mammals that
nourish their embryos using the mother s blood supply. Common Ancestry in placental mammals
provides sufficient scientific evidence, such as the similarities in bone structures and genetic coding
between animals, to support the theory of evolution.
One of the biggest arguments against the theory of evolution and the theory of common ancestry is
that they are theories. A scientific theory is an explanation for something in the natural world
supported by facts and has successfully gone

The Sniper Essay
The Sniper
The Sniper places a strong emphasis on the evils of war, and yet paints a vivid image of mankind s
qualities and their society. Employing the technique of describing one particular sniper to symbolise a
general subject, readers are able to gain a deep insight into the evils of war. In this story, the assembly
of setting, contrasting characters and themes of fanaticism and division of loyalties are vital to
conveying the horror of war. On the other hand, The Sniper also discusses the power of war, depicting
it as the decider of life and death for men. Its force is further emphasised when neighbours are turned

Characters in ¡§The Sniper¡¨ are limited in terms of type and variety to show that war brings out only
people who possesses a passion to kill and have the courage to be killed. The story focuses on only
one sniper and we, the readers use the incident from his point of view. The only characters that are
mentioned are the sniper, another sniper, his enemy and an old woman. Apart from the old woman, all
other characters are men who represent figures of war and are present to do nothing but kill. They are
seekers of death and bring about a web of deaths. The manner in which these men ¡§reign¡¨ over the

the evil impacts of war.
The theme of death and violence is another important segment in indicating the evils of war. Each

As design moves forward, the development teams begin to generate a tremendous amount of detailed
information about the system. Modules, classes, data fields, data structures, forms, reports, methods,

tasks are decomposing the application into layers, clients, and servers, distributing the pieces across
hardware platforms, and defining the physical network and protocols. Seven major activities must be
done during the design phase: Prototype for design details Design and integrate the system controls
Design and integrate the network Design the application architecture Design the user interfaces

interrelated and generally all done with substantial overlap. During design, it is often necessary to

build working prototypes of parts of the system to ensure that it will function correctly in the operating
environment. Every system must have sufficient controls to protect the integrity of the database and
the application program. These controls should be integrated into the new system while it is being

After the first week of Donald Trump s presidency many changes have been occurring in the country.
A continuous stream of executive orders signed by the President are causing extreme controversy.
Executive Order: Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into The United States, the more
moderate version of the Muslim ban that President Trump called for during his campaign was signed
on Friday. Some people who were still in the air when Trump signed the order were detained or sent
back to where they flew in from when they landed. This led to people being detained in airports
sparking numerous protests at airports across the country, calling the order unconstitutional. On
Saturday, a federal judge temporarily stayed the order, stopping people from being detained and

Cognitive Biases And Structured Analytic Techniques
There are many cognitive biases that affect the analytic process and inhibit analysts from reaching the
height of their accuracy. Each of these cognitive biases affect thinking in a unique way, but there are
different techniques that can be used to overcome these biases. Most of the time cognitive biases are
not intentional which is why it is so important that measures are taken to reduce the effect of cognitive
biases. Structured Analytic Techniques effectively reduce the effect of cognitive biases in many
different ways. This paper will examine four cognitive biases and Structured Analytic Techniques that
can help intelligence analysts be more accurate and less biased in their analysis. Anchoring is a

Outside in thinking is a strategy that requires analysts to think from the perspective of the outside. The
first step of outside in thinking is to list all of they forces that could have an impact on a certain topic
or issue. From there the analyst looks at possible factors that could influence that topic such as policy
changes or actions of an adversary. The next step is to analyze how each of those factors could affect
the topic or issue that the analyst is focusing on. The final step of outside in thinking is to judge
whether or not the factors you identified are relevant to the issue at hand. This process requires the
analyst to first look at all possible information and then work until they have reached a conclusion.
The conclusion is the last step of this process and the analyst is aware of this fact so they are less
likely to only look for information that supports their conclusion. This thinking process is effective in

A joint venture with Sony allows a large R amp;D division focusing on mobile, which is vital to
ensure its network business stays in touch with consumer demands. Sony has a strong reputation on
the domain of digital and audio technology. However, Sony was a marginal player in the handset
industry with 2% of market share. Previous attempts to enter the US and European markets both failed
due to poor knowledge on mobile technology. Sony was too slow to move away from its traditional
businesses such as music stereos, televisions, VCR and DVD, hence a partner who could provide
expertise knowledge was needed. Joint ventures have further benefits. Joint ventures are based on
sharing individual ability and resources for the purpose of achieving a mutually beneficial objective.
Sony gains access to Ericsson s market share and their network of infrastructure and handset
technology. Ericsson can acquire Sony s experience on consumer electronics, fashionable designs and
production processes. Hence, the joint venture overcomes Sony s low market share and strengthens
Ericsson s ability of research and product development. Thus joint ventures resolve the opportunism

Difference Between Impressionism And Impressionism

Realism and Impressionism Art has progressed in many ways throughout history; two prominent
styles however that define the evolution of art are Realism and Impressionism. Realism is defined as
treatment of forms, colors, space, etc., in such a manner as to emphasize their correspondence to
actuality or to ordinary visual experience (realism). Two artists that are well known for this style of art
are Gustave Courbet and Jean François Millet. Impressionism is defined as a style of painting
developed in the last third of the 19th century, characterized chiefly by short brushstrokes of bright
colors in immediate juxtaposition to represent the effect of light on objects (impressionism). Claude
Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir are pioneers of defining the Impressionist movement. These artists
use a variety of techniques, perspectives, subject matter, as well as influences to create the art we see
hanging in museums today. Realism is easily identified when we analyze the works of Gustave
Courbet and Jean François Millet. 19th century French painter Courbet is even known for creating the
term Realism. Courbet aspired to find liberty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contradictory manner. Each of these art styles are meant to depict true forms of objects and how the
artist chose to interpret them is what defines each artform as a whole(Timmons). Realism is what we

The World s Understanding Of Science And Technology
Chris Welch
Period 9
Research Proposal It is widely known that the Manhattan Project had profound implications on the
world s understanding of science and technology through the development of the first two atomic
bombs which effectively ended World War 2 in 1945. However, this singular event in American
history has been the focus of a major ethical dilemma for decades as well as having a legacy fraught
with conflict and regret. That was what I wanted to explore in my research. I wanted to discover how
the legacy of the Manhattan Project has influenced the current state of affairs in the world as well as
the specific effects the project had on the world s understanding of science and weaponry.
Additionally, I set out to discover, not only how the scientists felt about their involvement in such a
controversial event, but also the difference in perspective between the American public and the
Japanese.
The theoretical basis for the Project began in 1939 when the world s scientific community learned that
Nazi Germany had gained an understanding of the secrets of splitting a uranium atom. Albert Einstein
quickly decided to use his influence and stature to propose the military potential of an uncontrolled
atomic chain reaction as well as increased research into atomic energy to President FDR. Although
America s understanding of nuclear energy had increased greatly in the years leading up to the Project
through the development of things such as Enrico Fermi s nuclear reactor,

The Mead s Milkweed Family Name Is Asclepiadaceae
The Mead s milkweed family name is Asclepiadaceae (milkweeds). Mead Milkweed is a nonwoody
plant with smooth stem, and has milky sap. This is a short lived annual growth. It blooms in late May
to mid June with one or two clusters that produce roughly five fourteen flowers per cluster. The
flowers are yellow green or creamy green with purple tints. However, the seeds mature from July until
around October. A single plant may have multiple stems, which is frequently being mistaken for
individual plants. It takes on average fifteen years for it to grow and develop into a mature adult. After
it reaches the adult stage, every stem produces flowers for two to three years. They can grow to be one
or two feet tall.
Habitats include slightly moist to dry tall grass and upland prairies. Soil conditions in these habitats
range from acid and nutrient poor in Missouri. Conservation efforts include delaying haying until
September, periodic burning of prairies, and rotational grazing. In the past, Mead s milkweed was
throughout much of Missouri. It is presently found in the Osage Plains region and the St. Francois
mountains region of the Ozarks.
Adaptations allow the species to change and adjust slowly to the environment for survival. The sap of
most milkweed plants is toxic. This prevents the plants from being eaten. Some insects, however, can
eat milkweeds or sip on the milkweed nectar, which is not toxic to them. Many populations contain
genetically identical plants from being

During the period of the Revolution, many rationalist rose to prominence and importance in a quest
for a new type of government that would break away from the chains of tyranny. Although not as well

Marriage is not something rarely seen nowadays. Populates who have a decent relationship, estimated
to continue their relationship to a marriage. However, in the time marriage rate increasing, the
increment of divorce rate cannot be avoided. More than a half of all marriages will end with
divorcement. (Echols, 2010). Divorce occurs likely because of platonic relationship and poor
communication. This essay will examine those problems which cause divorce, and offer three
reasonable solutions to prevent divorcement in the community. Also, try to evaluate the effectiveness
of the solutions.
Nowadays, divorcement is a problem that noticeably on the increase. This issue happens right at most
of countries in the world. The phenomenal divorce rate among newlywed couples is a serious problem
that should be immediately addressed in Palestine. (Al Rub, 2014). Indeed, romance is something that
beautiful to most of societies. However, romance could also be something that not predictable, in this
case is divorcement. Divorce has adverse effects both for women and men. One of the effects that
caused by divorce is depression. Depression is one of the most visible divorcement effects. Depression
makes mostly people accomplish daily activities, desperately in their life, both in relation to others and
themselves. In fact, divorcement also brings bad influence to children whose parents have divorced.

Community Food Security And Food Availability And...
INTRODUCTION
Community food security relates to food availability and accessibility. To be considered community
food secure, all individuals in a community should have access to sufficient amounts of safe,
nutritious, culturally appropriate food that are produced in an environmentally sustainable way
(Desjardins et al, 2002). However, reduced agriculture land due to increased urbanization has
decreased the accessibility of food to the public and has led to food insecurity in many communities
locally and globally. The rising urbanized general public has a limited understanding of food since
food is usually produced some miles away (Iverson et al, 2014). In recent years, the popularity of
urban agriculture and community gardens are raising in many cities in North America (Iverson et al,
2014). A majority of civic politicians come to believe that healthier, safer and fresher food could be
grown in the middle of city at a suitable cost, which can improve food availability, affordability and
accessibility locally (Wong Hallsworth, 2016). Urban agriculture can improve the access to healthy
food, can develop sustainable food systems, and advance food justice for all people in the struggling
community. It is a solution to address the issue of community food security.
CLAIMS AND EVIDENCE
Urban agriculture can improve the access to healthy food for individuals in the community. There is
real potential for urban agriculture to empower certain motivated communities to end their

Acorn Worm Essay
Acorn worms get their names Hemichordates from having some of the characteristics of a chordate.
Hemi meaning half and then adding chordate. They are both also part of the deuterostomes family by
having their first opening to be the anus. There are certain characteristics that make acorn worms part
of the deuterostomes family including a bilaterally symmetrical body, radial cleavage, enterocoelous
coelom, and invertebrate. Bilaterally symmetrical meaning that the acorn worm can be open right
down the midline and both sides of the worm would be exactly the same. The enterocoelous meaning
that the acorn worm has a true body cavity which forms of the embryonic mesoderm as the
evaginations of the gut and also that the anus is the first opening ... Show more content on

The postanal tail is just something some acorn worms have which in turn results in poor segmentation.
The tubular nerve cords are located in the dorsal midline and the ventral midline. The ventral cord is
only in the trunk of the acorn worm and is attached to the dorsal cord through the prebranchial nerve
ring. The dorsal cord goes all the way to the collar and runs through the coelom to the buccal tube as
the collar cord. Finally, the stomochord is a hollow and flexible tube which come about in the
embryonic development out of the top of the embryonic gut to the pharynx. As the acorn worm
becomes an adult the stomochord moves to the proboscis to serve as a communication to the oral
cavity. Hemichordates aren t chordates because they lack some of the chordate characteristics one
being notochords. Notochords can be found in between the digestive tube and the nerve cord of the
chordate. It can be found during the embryonic stages and also sometimes in their adult life. The
notochord is there to provide skeletal support because of the length of the body but, is later replaced
with a vertebral column in some

Competitive Advantage Of Zara
Initially, the efficient supply chain of the business is a good method to enhance its competitive
position. Supply chain refers to those associated operations and activities for converting inputs to
outputs. Such activities contain issues of operations, marketing and supply (Han, 2008). High level of
combination within the chain is the best method to get competitive benefit. Zara Company achieved
matchless success in having powerful supply chain. This company owns numerous branches all
around the world. In this essay, we will discuss supply chain of Zara, Zara s Fast Fashion distribution
system, and role of vertical and horizontal analysis in making competitive advantage for business. In
the case of Zara, we find that Supply chain contains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Enforcement of such system fast fashion is too good in decreasing the time of production. This is clear
in the case of Zara as recognizing the required fashion and applying or producing it in a short period
of time less than two weeks. This is too good for forming rapid answer for all clients requirements,
and so keeping clients satisfied. This system of fast fashion also helped Zara to produce more effective
styles. This included the production of 11,000 items, while in case of rivals we find that Gap produced
only 4,000 items, and H M produced only 2000 items. Moreover, the adopting of such system helped
the company reduce level of supply scant quantities , and this is too effective for satisfying clients as
they wear a unique model. All those issues helped Zara to support its name in the market, and so
despite of the different disadvantages, we find that Zara will

The Respiratory System The respiratory system consists of the nose, mouth, pharynx, larynx, trachea,
bronchi and lungs. These provide a passageway to allow air in and out of the body. Every cell in the
body requires oxygen to survive.
The primary function of the respiratory system is the exchange of gases. The respiratory system
allows oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange, this is necessary to sustain life. During the process of
breathing air is inhaled and carbon dioxide is exhaled, this change of gases occurs in the alveoli. The
inhaled oxygen passes into the alveoli and then diffuses into arterial blood. The waste rich blood from
the veins releases carbon dioxide into the alveoli which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The esophagus receives food from the mouth after swallowing and then delivers it to the stomach. The
stomach holds food which it is being mixed with enzymes which continue the process of breaking
down the food into a useable form. When the contents of the stomach are processed they are released
into the small intestine. In the small intestine food is broken down by enzymes released from the
pancreas and bile from the liver, the food is moved through and mixed with digestive secretions. The
small intestine is made up of three segments the duodenum, jejunum and the ileum, the jejunum and
the ileum are mainly responsible from the absorption of nutrients in to the bloodstream. These
contents start out semi solid and end in a liquid form after passing through the organ. Water, bile,
enzymes and mucous change its consistency, one the nutrients have been absorbed it then moves onto
the large intestine. The large intestine connects to the rectum and is specialised in processing water so
that emptying the bowels is easy.
The pancreas is responsible for secreting digestive enzymes into the duodenum. These enzymes then
break down protein, fats and carbohydrates. The pancreas is also responsible for making insulin and
secreting it directly into the bloodstream. The livers main function within the digestive system is to
process the nutrients which are absorbed from the small intestine. Bile is secreted

The Aging Population Analysis
The older population is categorized into three distinct classes: young old, old old, and oldest old. As
presented by Hooyman and Kiyak (2011) on page 18, in figure 1.5, the young old is from the ages of
65 74, the old old is from the ages of 75 84, and the oldest old are from the ages of 85 and older. The
figure on page 18, shows us how much more the older population will grow between 2008 and 2050,
each group is significantly growing, but the oldest old seems to be growing the fastest among the three
groups. According to Hooyman and Kiyak (2011) this is due primarily to the development in
medicine, public hygiene, and health care. While further investigating the growth of the older
population we will examine changing life expectancies between ... Show more content on

is rising more by each generation. This advancement is greatly affecting the field of gerontology
(Hooyman and Kiyak, 2011). A vastly growing practice area that is much needed because by the
middle of the 21st century, more than 40% of Americans age 65 and older can expect to live to at least
90 (Gonyeathe, 2013). This is a major advancement since 1900, when the average life expectancy in
the U.S. was around 47 years old, and from 47 to today s 78.1 years (Hooyman and Kiyak, 2011).
When Hooyman and Kiyak (2011) examined the life expectancies from 1990 and 2005, they noticed a
decline in the older population mostly because of low birthrates experienced during the 1920s and
1930s; however, they expect a rise in this age population because most of the baby boomers will be
turning 60 in the years following. During U.S. events like the 1930s Great Depression, and the late
1940s and early 1960s baby boomers years, these historical events has shifted the demographics of the
older population. The advancement of old age is a huge milestone today, and as this extremely diverse
population continues to grow associated risk factors are assumed to follow such as economic hardship,
and disabling illnesses or health conditions for the older

The Similarities Of Jack Ma And Indra Nooyi Jack Ma and Indra Nooyi share very common similarities regarding their leadership stories which appear to be strong catalysts in shaping their leadership purpose. They both came from rather simple beginnings, Indra was raised by a strict conservative Brahmin family in Southern India and Jack was repeatedly rejected for his plans of starting an internet company in America. Not deterred by that experience Jack then returned to China with no money but a solid business idea. By putting the company ahead of her own ego this again draws a strong correlation to the humble nature of Jack Ma and his plan of sustainability for the people and small business owners of China. Jack appears to be someone who wishes to change China and ultimately the world for the better, made clear by him saying I don t feel proud of how much money I ve made, I feel proud at how much I ve been able to help small business (Business 2011), and to have people stop him in the street commenting they opened a small store on TaoBao and they re doing well, it s clear that doing what s best for the people resonates with Jack strongly, further strengthened by him saying When you have 1 billion, that s not your money, that s the societies trust (Business ... The Ancient Greeks were the firsts to speculate on the composition of matter. They thought that it was possible that individual particles made up matter. Later, in the Seventeenth Century, a German chemist named Georg Ernst Stahl was the first to postulate on chemical reaction, specifically, combustion. He said that a substance called phlogiston escaped into the air from all substances during combustion. He explained that a burning candle would go out if a candle snuffer was put over it because the air inside the snuffer became saturated with phlogiston. These include decomposition, polymerization, chain reactions, substitute reactions, elimination reactions, addition reactions, ionic reactions, and oxidation reduction reactions. Decomposition reactions are reactions in which a substance breaks into smaller parts. As an example, ammonium carbonate will decompose into ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water. Polymerization reactions are reactions in which simpler substances combine to form a complex substance. The thing that makes this reaction unusual is that the final product is composed of hundreds of the simpler reagent (a substance that contributes to a chemical reaction) species. One example is the polymerization of terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol to form the polymer called Dacron, a fibre, or Mylar, in sheet form: nH2OC(C6H4)CO2H + nHOCH2CH2OH [...OC(C6H4)CO2CH2CH2O...]n 2nH2O in which n is a large number of moles. A chain reaction is a series of smaller reactions in which the previous reaction forms a reagent for the next reaction. The synthesis of hydrogen bromide is a good example: H2 + Br2 2HBr This is a simple equation that doesn t properly prove the reaction. It is very complex and starts with this: Br2 2Br The next three reactions are related and should be grouped together. A substation reaction is a reaction in which a substance loses one or more atoms and

The soviets had over 4,000,000 military casualties, but somehow, the U.S.S.R. defeated the Germans and was able to shove them out of their land. The strategy that was used was The Three Prong Assault. One group would head for Leningrad, another would head for Moscow, and another would attempt to conquer the Baku Oil fields. In the first days of the assault, the Nazis bombed Soviet airfields, destroying one quarter of their aerial army and large cities. This meta analysis categorized the tests into ten broad, separable cognitive domains allowing for a general outline. These tests were categorized based on a similar outline for a meta analysis of schizophrenia used by Heinrichs and Zakzanis in 1998. These ten cognitive domains support quantitative and interpretive comparisons and include: immediate verbal memory, attention (divided into three subdomains of processing speed, working memory, and vigilance), nonverbal memory, general cognitive ability, language functions, visuospatial abilities, delayed verbal memory and learning strategies, executive functioning, social cognition, and motor skills. Studies show medium to large deficits for first episode schizophrenia samples compared to the control samples. Testing indicated first episode samples preform worse and show impairments in each domain category compared to control samples based on negative ES values. In addition, analyses showed significant heterogeneity amongst all ten domains (Mesholam Gately et al., 2009). It is evident that there are significant impairments among first episode samples in the three groups of memory, specifically in both serial list learning and story memory immediate recall where SMDs were 1.20. No But Playing Them Can Be, by author Phil Hartup, he makes the argument that video games are not art, but rather the audience that engages themselves in playing them makes it art. The author uses examples such as Mona Lisa and Michael Bay just to support his claim, and while his claims are interesting, some of the stuff he says can be ridiculous, in my opinion. I, myself, disagree with most of his claims. Video games have a big influence on communities just like art, and not only that, but without graphic ARTISTS, we wouldn t be able to have these video games that we have today. Video games, in my opinion have so much creativity in them that they should be considered as art. Hartup introduces his claim by giving examples of art such as the Mona Lisa and a few examples of things with what Michael Bay does in movies. There is no direct dialogue with art, says Hartup, in which this case, I must disagree. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, meaning that all those details in paintings you see must give you some dialogue if you think about it. The quantitative analysis of the merit of a society is one very multifaceted and complex task; however, one truth remains certain: a good society is not achieved by chance or by default. Each and every successful society has succeeded because at a certain point, members of the society acted collectively to create structure and organization. Universities and institutions, transportation networks, and public healthcare, are all structures that have been put in place to help individuals succeed in various areas. From Travels of a T shirt in the Global Economy, it is evident that without necessary trade, negotiations, and boundaries, the millions of T shirts produced would not be able to flow across global communities, bringing alongside them countless job opportunities, more effective governance systems, and enhanced research and innovations. Clearly, one of the key aspects of a good functioning society is the establishment of good and effective structures. While the best form of that structure can be debated, the fact that a good society needs structure and organization is a fixed and fundamental condition. In order for this structure to provide a foundation of a good society, there are a few other conditions that must follow among them are attentiveness to all members of the society, commitment to universal values, and flexibility to change and adapt. • 20. Inherit The Wind, By Charles Darwin Every living thing on this planet has evolved from the same original specie. Having this information, could it not be concluded that all living things are, to some degree, related? Yes. To further explain, evolution is a theory that states that organisms have diversified or in other words, have changed into a more complex living thing. In the book Inherit The Wind, the townsfolk of the play disagree heavily with the theory of evolution. Common ancestry is the theory that states that all living things share a common ancestor or common descendent, which then ties into evolution. Speciation, both allopatric and parapatric, show evidence for common ancestry. Speciation is when new species arise due to an evolutionary process. There are multiple and observable accounts that are used to support the theory of common ancestry. Charles Darwin s book, The Descent of Man And Selection in Relation to Sex, goes into specifics with these accounts with placental mammals. Placental mammals are mammals that nourish their embryos using the mother s blood supply. Common Ancestry in placental mammals provides sufficient scientific evidence, such as the similarities in bone structures and genetic coding between animals, to support the theory of evolution. One of the biggest arguments against the theory of evolution and the theory of common ancestry is that they are theories. Seven major activities must be done during the design phase: Prototype for design details Design and integrate the system controls Design and integrate the network Design the application architecture Design the user interfaces Design the system interfaces Design and integrate the database Design activities are closely interrelated and generally all done with substantial overlap. During design, it is often necessary to verify the correctness or workability of the proposed design. One important verification method is to build working prototypes of parts of the system to ensure that it will function correctly in the operating environment. Every system must have sufficient controls to protect the integrity of the database and the application program. These controls should be integrated into the new system while it is being designed, not after it has been constructed (Chapter 2, 2004). Success The Project ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Difference Between Impressionism And Impressionism Emily Musick Erin Brabazon English Composition 31 January 2016 Realism and Impressionism Art has progressed in many ways throughout history; two prominent styles however that define the evolution of art are Realism and Impressionism. Realism is defined as treatment of forms, colors, space, etc., in such a manner as to emphasize their correspondence to actuality or to ordinary visual experience (realism). Two artists that are well known for this style of art are Gustave Courbet and Jean François Millet. Impressionism is defined as a style of painting developed in the last third of the 19th century, characterized chiefly by short brushstrokes of bright colors in immediate juxtaposition to represent the effect of light on objects (impressionism). Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir are pioneers of defining the Impressionist movement. These artists use a variety of techniques, perspectives, subject matter, as well as influences to create the art we see hanging in museums today. The World s Understanding Of Science And Technology Chris Welch Period 9 Research Proposal It is widely known that the Manhattan Project had profound implications on the world s understanding of science and technology through the development of the first two atomic bombs which effectively ended World War 2 in 1945. However, this singular event in American history has been the focus of a major ethical dilemma for decades as well as having a legacy fraught with conflict and regret. That was what I wanted to explore in my research. I wanted to discover how the legacy of the Manhattan Project has influenced the current state of affairs in the world as well as the specific effects the project had on the world s understanding of science and weaponry. Additionally, I set out to discover, not only how the scientists felt about their involvement in such a controversial event, but also the difference in perspective between the American public and the Japanese. The theoretical basis for the Project began in 1939 when the world s scientific community learned that Nazi Germany had gained an understanding of the secrets of splitting a uranium atom. Albert Einstein quickly decided to use his influence and stature to propose the military potential of an uncontrolled atomic chain reaction as well as increased research into atomic energy to President FDR. This is a short lived annual growth. It blooms in late May to mid June with one or two clusters that produce roughly five fourteen flowers per cluster. The flowers are yellow green or creamy green with purple tints. However, the seeds mature from July until around October. A single plant may have multiple stems, which is frequently being mistaken for individual plants. It takes on average fifteen years for it to grow and develop into a mature adult. After it reaches the adult stage, every stem produces flowers for two to three years. They can grow to be one or two feet tall. Habitats include slightly moist to dry tall grass and upland prairies. Soil conditions in these habitats range from acid and nutrient poor in Missouri. Conservation efforts include delaying haying until September, periodic burning of prairies, and rotational grazing. In the past, Mead s milkweed was throughout much of Missouri. It is presently found in the Osage Plains region and the St. Francois mountains region of the Ozarks. Adaptations allow the species to change and adjust slowly to the environment for survival. The sap of most milkweed plants is toxic. This prevents the plants from being eaten. To be considered community food secure, all individuals in a community should have access to sufficient amounts of safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate food that are produced in an environmentally sustainable way (Desjardins et al, 2002). However, reduced agriculture land due to increased urbanization has decreased the accessibility of food to the public and has led to food insecurity in many communities locally and globally. The rising urbanized general public has a limited understanding of food since food is usually produced some miles away (Iverson et al, 2014). In recent years, the popularity of urban agriculture and community gardens are raising in many cities in North America (Iverson et al, 2014). A majority of civic politicians come to believe that healthier, safer and fresher food could be grown in the middle of city at a suitable cost, which can improve food availability, affordability and accessibility locally (Wong Hallsworth, 2016). The stomach holds food which it is being mixed with enzymes which continue the process of breaking down the food into a useable form. When Hooyman and Kiyak (2011) examined the life expectancies from 1990 and 2005, they noticed a decline in the older population mostly because of low birthrates experienced during the 1920s and 1930s; however, they expect a rise in this age population because most of the baby boomers will be turning 60 in the years following.
