The Aeneid, The Hero Aeneas Essay
In Virgil s Aeneid , the hero Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, is faced with a series of
challenges. To overcome these challenges, Aeneas seeks help from the gods as he tries to make his
way back home. In Homer s The Odyssey , the hero Odysseus spends ten years trying to return to his
homeland, Ithaca. Both heroes face similar challenges that they need to overcome in order to
accomplish their goals. The Odyssey has two characters that hinder the hero s journey; Calypso and
Circe. The Aeneid has the character Dido who delays Aeneas journey. This essay will compare both
stories, showing similarities and differences of how the hero s journey was delayed.
The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, written by Virgil between 29 and 19 B.C. The story is centered on
the main character, Aeneas, a Trojan war survivor and leader of the Trojans after the fall of Troy.
Aeneas and his men sail for Italy, where he is destined to found Rome. While sailing for their
destination, a fierce storm redirects the fleet to the island Carthage; ...a howling wind from the North
Struck against the sail. Waves shot to the start. The oars shattered. The prow swung around, Exposing
the side to the waves, and then A mountain of water broke over the fleet...The Trojans disembark on
the welcome beach, Laying their brine soaked bodies on the sand (Virgil, 4,6 7). Dido, Carthage s
founder, welcomes Aeneas and his men. These women Calypso, Circe, and Dido all have one thing in
common. That is to distract the

A Formal Analysis of Potential Career Choices
A Formal Analysis Of Potential Career Choices
Introduction A formal analysis of the characteristics and outlook for two possible career choices
Policeman vs. Lawyer is a valuable tool in the decision making process used by an employment
candidate to make a successful selection between them. New entrants into the job market face a very
competitive environment and training (or re training) for jobs is frequently expensive and time
consuming. Therefore there is a definite need to make one s career decisions using a comprehensive,
formal analysis in order to promote a successful and satisfying career choice. Background information
was gathered by a search of peer reviewed articles from governmental and professional journal
sources in the literature. These articles provided several important variables to be considered in the
methodology, including: (a) candidate gender; (b) candidate ethnicity; (c) educational level; (d)
physical demands; (e) mental/analytical demands; (f) pathways to advancement; and (g) employment
outlook. These decision variables are identified for each potential career choice and then compared
and contrasted between the career options. A conclusion is then reached as to a recommended best fit
option relative to a candidate s career goals and interests.

The Spread of Buddhism Essay
The Spread of Buddhism
Buddhism is a philosophy, a moral code, and, for some a religious faith which originated in 530 BC in
India. Buddhism evolved as a modification of Hinduism when Hinduism started to become very
complicated due to too many sacrifices in the name of God. Today, an estimated 300 million people
follow one of the many varieties of Buddhism.
Budda, or Siddhartha Guatama which means the awakened one had the religion named after him
because he founded the ideas behind Buddhism. Budda, a very wealthy man, was not fulfilled with his
life. One day, he decided to leave his home and wondered through the forest, nearly starving himself
to death, in search of the answer to his discontent. Nearing death, a woman found ... Show more

The traditionalists, now referred to as Sthaviravada or way of the elders developed a complex set of
philosophical ideas beyond those taught by Buddha. These were collected into the Abhidharma or
higher teachings. But they, too, encouraged disagreements, so that one group after another left the
fold. Ultimately, 18 schools developed, each with their own interpretations of various issues, and
spread all over India and Southeast Asia.
A significant development happened at the same time as the Buddhist movement began to spread and
that was the opening of a new way through, from India to China. Today, we call this way the Silk
Road , and we associate it with famous travelers like Marco Polo, whose journeys to China astounded
the Europeans of his day.
The route was first established by the Chinese in search of horses and trade. It dates back to the
second century BC. From that time, it became a regular journey for traders seeking to make a small
fortune. In the following centuries, the route fell under control of different political groups, but was
always well used until the 15th century AD when sea trade dominated.
From early days, silk was exported from China to Italy where it became immensely popular. Grapes
and wine making were soon introduced to the East as well as perfumes, spices, unknown animals and
birds such as peacocks. From China, we first encountered roses, oranges and pears. There was
considerable cost to transport all

Fannie Mae Dees Park Analysis
Fannie Mae Dees Park, established in the year nineteen seventy eight, sits just west of downtown
Nashville across from Vanderbilt Medical Center. The park receives its name from the local Nashville
civic leader, Fannie Mae Dees. The commonly known name is the Dragon Park due to the massive,
sixty foot tall, mosaic sculpture of a dragon located at the center of the park. The dragon contains
detailed sculpture tiles composed by local children in a nearby school. Over the years, the displayed
piece has undergone many construction phases in order to maintain its beauty and possibly hazardous
condition. Children of most all ages can enjoy the challenge of climbing the massive structure,
however, young children may need to be supervised. For those

The Pros And Cons Of Recommendation By MPKB
5.3.2 Recommendation by MPKB Imposed stricter punishment Besides that, other recommendation
that could be done to improve the MPKB s effort is to impose stricter punishment to those who not
pay the tax such as the assessment tax or not paying permit to sell at the stalls. This is because, MPKB
had taken a lot of efforts in order to ensure the implementation of the Safe City Programme to be
successful such as by providing the infrastructure, maintenance of the areas, design a physical
environment that is safe and informing the people about the programme through the mass media.
However, in order to continuously do the effort, MPKB needs to have strong financial resources and
this not only come from the Federal Government but also from the state government or the local
government itself. Generally, the resources for financial of MPKB comes from the tax. The tax then
will be used in order to do the maintenance of the Safe City programme such as the facilities.

The Exceptional Life Of Walt Disney
The Exceptional Life of Walter Elias Disney All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage
to pursue them Walt Disney
Walter Elias Disney has made one of the greatest impacts in the entertainment industry and popular
culture around the world (Walter Elias Disney, 2015). From his most famous creation, Mickey Mouse,
to his invention of Disneyland, and to all his achievements made in the movie industry, Walt has
changed the world. Few individuals have had the ability to impact the world they way Walt Disney did
and still is doing today even though he is no longer alive (Walter Elias Disney, 2015).
Walt was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5 of 1901. He was the son of Elias Disney and Flora
Call. Walt was raised near Marceline and in Kansas City, Missouri. Walt s childhood was anything but
exceptional. His father was very strict and administered corrective beatings daily to Walt and his
brother Roy (Walter Elias Disney, 2015). He found his escape from his father through writing. When
he wrote, he felt happy and in control. Walter felt as if anything could be made possible. When he
turned sixteen, Walt took the opportunity to leave his father by joining the Red Cross Ambulance
Corps and went to France (Walter Elias Disney, 2015).
Once Disney returned, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Once there, he started working for an ad
company. It was there that Disney decided that making his drawings come to life was the job he

Summary Of Interactive Data Visualization By Charles...
In his essay, The Re Emergence of Emotional Appeals in Interactive Data Visualization , Charles
Kostelnick compares printed data to language by noting media s limited ability to stimulate thought
and send a relatable message. Kostelnick states these two modes of messaging can evoke empathy or
fear in an audience, but for what purpose? As his essay unfolds, he makes it clear that messaging must
be multi faceted implementing color, interactive elements and animations to truly evoke a substantial
response in the viewer. This dissection seems to parallel many elements and stylistic approaches film
uses to captivate its audiences. Perhaps Kostelnick is right viral ad campaigns show that the average
consumer connects well to a message that is truly heartfelt. For example, the new Amazon Prime ad ...

Here I found parallels between his depiction of language s ability to evoke and express emotion and
the limitations that coincide with printed data expression. Kostelnick posits that if one can connect one
s audience to data in a tactile, immediate way, their emotional response will bring about engagement
and interest. Data then, like language, must collaborate with color, imagery, and the viewer s ability to
directly relate and feel empathy. Otherwise, printed data alone as with language alone simply cannot
accomplish the same level of human connection. In sum, to be effective the message needs movement,
color, and human influence. The viewer must feel that they are an active part in the data in order to
feel most connected to it. Similarly, this is the case in the viral video messaging and film of today s
world. Kostelnick may not have mentioned film in his essay, but he doesn t have to directly say it to
point out to us just how we can make data consumption a more engaging, empathy inspired action by
pulling from the ways of

Children And Youth Of Prince George s County
Problem Identification: As African American moved to Prince George s County to be part of a
phenomenon that has been rare in American history: a community that grew more upscale as it
became more black. The county became a national symbol of the American Dream with a black twist
(Michael, 2015). However, their dreams were shattered. Moreover, when white families departed as
the black population grew, one of the consequences of this action was the quality of education in the
public school system, declined which cause many affluent black families to turn away from the public
school system. Summary of case/describe the particular: Experts say the trend in Prince George s is
similar to what has happened in other large school systems that have struggled academically: The loss
of middle class families has led to a higher percentage of poor students using the public school
system, less local accountability and waning community involvement. Also, Russ (2013) stated,
children and youth of Prince George s County face many challenges, and the solution requires action
on the part of the entire community. Philanthropists, Businesses, School Leaders, and Policymakers
are called to take action to end our disconnected youth crisis and ensure all students graduate high
school, college and career ready. In addition, educating our youth must begin early in a child s
development life, simply because this period provides a foundation for learning and social

The Importance Of Discrimination In Society
Man has always been fascinated with the concept of a moral right and wrong, and people will often
debate as to who or what defines morality as a whole. Every day, numerous women in India face
discrimination and prejudice based on the soul fact they are born female. Cultural traditions and harsh
gender norms have been set out by society to lessen the voice of females. When asked about the theme
of his book Lord of the Flies, author William Golding states that the theme is an attempt to trace the
defects of society back to the defects of human nature. Contrary to Golding, the Indian gendercide
crisis demonstrates that discrimination is the result of a notoriously strict patriarchal society instilling
prejudice in its citizens, rather than man simply being born good or evil .
Discrimination is a lethal tool that societies use to deem select groups of people as more important,
and it is this arrogance that drives hate in nations. A human being s eligibility for equal treatment and
rights is not determined by how much he or she meets cultural standards and ideals. The issue of
prejudice is greatly talked about by many organizations around the world, but Amnesty International
does one of the best jobs of defining the overall goal: [everyone has] the right to be treated equally,
regardless of our race, ethnicity, nationality, class, caste, religion, belief, sex, language, sexual
orientation, gender identity, age, health or other status ( Discrimination ). Constantly being

Helen Keller Goals
Since Helen Keller s early years in life she has always been blind, deaf and mute. Members in her
family knew there was sure to be many difficulties in teaching her basic life routines, and from where
the family stood there was no way to teach her. Helen sometimes got so frustrated she would lash out.
Until one day her family, with hopes to teach her, hired someone with experience to help. The teacher
s name is Annie Sullivan. Sullivan had some difficulties getting through to Helen, but once she did
there was no stopping Helen Keller from learning. Little after that everyone knew Helen was destined
for greatness, she started school and then succeeded to move on to college. She rose to her educational
heights and continued to rise up in the world. Despite Helen Keller s setbacks, during her lifetime she
accomplished great things that few people, who have the privilege to see, hear and speak, can achieve.
From a young age Helen Keller attended many schools and even college, she succeeded at each school
while still managing and overcoming any setbacks with her disability. Helen first began school classes
at the Perkins Institute. The director of Perkins Michael Anagnos and the well known Alexander
Graham Bell, both saw great potential in Helen Keller from the beginning of her life. Though Keller
was making progress and having letters published at the Perkins Institute, a misunderstanding incident
resulted in Helen Keller leaving Perkins. (Helen Adams Keller 1,2). After Helen

Business Impact Analysis
This is an essential organization s business component that composes of a continuance plan for the
firm (Hiles, 2002). This plan includes planning components that aid in developing strategies for
mitigating risks, and an exploratory component to indicate and identify any vulnerability.
In this analysis account, the researcher is going to discuss and subsequently describe methods for
establishing components priorities by determining components dependencies and reliance in both
business continuity and disaster recovery.

Work Recovery Time (WRT) this is the second phase of MTD, it happens mostly on the third day of
MTD.
Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) this is the system recovery time, it is the available time to recover
disrupted resources and systems.
Recovery Point Objective (RPO) this is the extent or amount of data loss that a critical business
system can tolerate.
The above are the recovery time framework that will assist in calculating the time and form through
which a business will evolve before collapsing (Hiles, 2002).
To do a business impact analysis, the element of component dependency arises. Components
dependencies are the interdependency between the exploratory components and the planning
components. With the planning component, the organization will dwell much on the minimizing and
mitigating the risks that will lead to business disruption, while the exploratory component will dwell
so much on discovering and identification of vulnerable areas within the business. Their dependency
is as important as the two areas. For an organization to mitigate the risks, it should be aware of the
areas that are more vulnerable to risks, and if an organization identifiers the risk then it will have to
look for ways to reduce its occurrence or the impacts. Mostly the planning happens after the
exploratory component (Cardoza, 2006).

Narrative Essay On Missions Trip
Over the summer I went to Nashville, Tennessee for a missions trip with my youth group. During the
trip, I experienced many awkward and embarrassing situations that I wish I didn t have to live
through. Even though there were powerful worship services, memories made, and friendships formed,
the week was pretty hectic. There were three particular incidents that really stick out when I think of
Missions Trip 2016. These incidents include an atrocious crew and crew leader, a flirtatious man, and
a scary church where we stayed. The first incident happened upon being assigned to an awful crew.
The crew leader, Pete, was the worst of them all. He was immature and a total stick in the mud. For
example, he never showed up to help us on the nights our crew had to clean up after dinner or when ...

when things got awkward. He got super worried. Oh , uh, nevermind, he muttered. He walked away
pretty quickly. I m already an anxious mess, so when I had to take the kids into his classroom the rest
of the week it was extremely nerve wracking. The last incident was when we got to the place we were
staying. The church where we were housed was so old, the missions trip leaders had to have us choose
between air conditioning and charging our electronics! In Tennessee, air conditioning is the obvious
choice. All the youth groups were separated into different rooms, when usually each youth group has
their own rooms. I didn t enjoy that. The church was in the middle of the ghetto, too! On the fourth of

regions that finance them to target countries some hardly leave any traceable trail. As regulators

Choosing The Forbes Travel Guide Star
This means that every month for the last 2 years, 6.2 new luxury hotel were built in the world. Hotels
where each guest may easily fancy himself as prince surrounded by a flock of courtiers (Sherman,
2007, p. 26) are being required more and more every day. The World Luxury Index (2014) revealed
that the global consumer interest for the luxury hospitality industry grew 7.7% in one year.
The numbers don´t lie, the luxury hotels industry is growing fast. But, are they positioning themselves
correctly in the consumer s head? Are they targeting the right client segment? And what are the
triggers they use to attract their consumers?
To answer these questions, I chose two luxury hotels brands. I will evaluate and compare them
covering the brands personalities and positioning, and analyze what these brands do to motivate the
consumers in their purchase decision. The two brands chosen were The Ritz Carlton and the South
African Lodge Londolozi. These very different choices were made considering The Forbes Travel
Guide Star Awards definition of Luxury Hotel; it defines them as those that provide a memorable
experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities. In these hotels, the staff is
perceptive, involved and passionate, willing to go that extra mile. They were both designed with the
guest s comfort in mind, investing special attention to quality.

Electronic Banking in Nigeria

The world has witnessed an upsurge of electronic payment instruments meant to facilitate trade and
simplify payments. (Abor, 2004) Before the introduction of electronic payment into the Nigerian
banking system, all customers had to walk into the actual bank to do transaction of all kinds.
Customers had to queue up and spend more hours to talk to a teller to make their transactions. (Abor,

1.3 Factors Affecting Payment Choice
1.3.1 Customers Wealth/Levels of Income
Consistent with Kwast and Kennickell (1997) research, wealth has an important role to play in terms
of consumer s decisions on payment choice. Consumers wealth may influence payment choice and the
availability of payment instruments that one can choose. For instance, while wealthy consumers may
be able to fund their obligations generally, consumers that experience brief financial shortfalls may not
find electronic bill payment desirable as a payment instrument.
(Mantel, 2000) In such a situation, the consideration of the risk factor will let some consumers to

strategies that were taught. Before children would work on assignments alone, the teacher would
model exactly what is expected of them, and keep examples of what was modeled during the lesson so
the students could look back to it if they need to. Read alouds (Cooper, 2015, p. 37) were used in this
lesson to really help children to focus on certain topics of the text. Sometimes the best way to help
children understand a particular piece of text is to read it aloud to them and discuss it with them
(Cooper, 2015, p. 37). Think alouds (Cooper, 2015, p. 30) were incorporated into this lesson when
trying to explain how to use the strategy of character mapping. Think alouds are a great way to explain
to students how to use a specific skill or strategy so that they can have a better time comprehending it.
Semantic maps (Cooper, 2015, p.83) were used in this lesson for brainstorming ideas from the text to
later reference when making illustrations and creating short responses to the text. This strategy is also
a great tool for second language learners because it helps to narrow down the specific parts in the text

My Goals For College
Walt Disney once said, All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
According to CBS News, he was fired from a Missouri newspaper company for not being creative
enough at the age of twenty two. However, he eventually became the owner of a multi billion dollar
company. Despite the hardships, Mr. Disney refused to give up on his dreams and was determined to
accomplish his goals. This is exactly how I see myself fulfilling my ambitions because I always push
myself to give 110% in everything I do. My goals include graduating high school with the highest
academic honors possible, attending Indiana University Southeast and majoring in marketing with a
minor in human resources, and obtaining a job in the field that I have studied. Throughout my high
school career, I have pushed myself to do the best that I can in everything I do. I have maintained a 4.0

Essay A Day Not Forgotten, the Attack on Pearl Harbor
A Day Not Forgotten, the Attack on Pearl Harbor
K. D.
HIST 102
Instructor Amy Ware
October 23, 2010
The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese on December 7, 1941 remains a clear memory for both
nations. Everything seemed to have played in favor of the Empire of Japan; from planning, to
gathering the necessary resources, the silent 3,300 nautical mile journey of the task force and
ultimately the attack itself. From a tactical standpoint the attack was one of the most ingenious naval
operations in history. With the loss of four U.S. battleships, 180 Aircraft, and 2,400 sailors the attack
can be chalked up as a win for Japan. But since the surprise attack was conducted without a formal
declaration of war, it may have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This set off alarms in D.C. because of the fact that General Tojo is a militarist, and fears of his cabinet
would be bent on war. But the Japanese maintained diplomatic negotiations with the goal of achieving
an agreement to restore oil supplies. On the American end of the negotiations, Presidents Roosevelt
was more concerned with Japan ending its tripartite pact. Kichisaburo Momura was the ambassador of
Japan in charge of facilitating requests between Tokyo and Washington. He was in charge of
delivering the 14 part message from Tokyo that ultimately relays the declaration of war on the U.S.,
just hours before the attack would commence. The delivery of the final portion of the message came
about one hour after the attack had begun, thus making it a violation of international law. The first
wave of 183 Japanese planes initiates the attack at 0600 hours and was concentrated on Hickam
airfield and the flying boat ramps on Ford Island, with the torpedo bombers en route to battle ship row.
The first wave lasts until 0945 with 4 battleships sunk, 8 badly damaged, 200 U.S. aircraft destroyed
and multiple smaller ships lost. A secondary attack is launched as well, with the total casualty count
tallying in roughly 2,400 U.S. personal killed, and 1,200 wounded. A nation wide broadcast of the

Why English Is Used In Bollywood
Research Question 2? Why English is used in Bollywood films? 1.The role of English in India society
After India gained independence, the status of English was not dwindled or lowered. Additionally, it
was regarded as the equal importance of second language in India, particularly in education. It is even
perceived as a preference for the instruction medium in school which enjoys the higher status than
Hindi medium schools. Furthermore, English has been widely spoken by middle or upper class. With
the global prevalence of English in the 20th and 21st century, English spawned unprecedented
opportunities for India s economy. Therefore, English remained its status despite ongoing objections
to protest Hindi and other local languages. Moreover, English ... Show more content on

The intensive success of box offices of Hindi film outside the India characterized its international
feature. As for its audience, Bollywood film makers have been attempting to attract audience crossing
the boundaries and achieve universal appeal by finding a middle path to make the film catering for any
audience (Ganti, T. 2013)..Therefore, English based dialogues in Bollywood films seems to contribute
to appealing wider audiences in terms of region, social status and taste. Since 2000, a new audience
category appeared on the Bollywood vocabulary which is called multiplexes. This group of audience
became the niche audience for Hindi filmmakers featured by smaller budget and appeal for elite urban
lifestyles and preference to westernized and various themed movies other than traditional dancing and
singing. This led to the growth of making English movies like the breakthrough movie Bachchan s
2005 film Black, a smash hit based on the life story of a girl who transcended the twin disabilities of
blindness and deafness. Loosely based on the experiences of Helen Keller, Black was a Hindi movie,
but a large part of the dialogue was in English. In this way, Bollywood s decision to craft home grown

Caffeine. From your morning cup of coffee to the pain relievers for your headache, nearly 90% of

As stated by USA Today, strong factors include: gourmet offerings, coffeehouses with hip appeal, and
health benefits. Coffee has become important to us on so many levels and there s no signs its cachet is
going away anytime soon, it s part beverage, another part pop culture (DeRupo). Another factor is the
production of baristas for use at home. There has been an escalating popularity in homebrewing
gadgets and custom blends for use in the simplest ways. People today are more educated on their
coffee and want it every time the way they like it. While there s constantly growth in the consumption
of coffee, the demographics of the drinkers steadily change. Recent studies show that over the last two
years, 74 percent of Hispanic Americans drink coffee daily, that s more than 12 percent of non
Hispanics. While Hispanic Americans are drinking more coffee, the younger generation is drinking
less. Among ages 18 24, 41 percent said they drank coffee daily, which brings them down from 50
percent in 2012. Despite these changing habits, the consumption of coffee is expected to keep
climbing. We usually flip over new foods, not something that has been around for centuries, But today

caffeine offers many different health benefits or disadvantages. In recent studies, caffeine has been

The Impact Of Eu Liberalisation Policy On The Uk Energy...
This essay will detail the impact of EU liberalisation policy on the UK energy industry and relate this
to a previous sample of a group of suppliers. This essay will discuss industry supplier concentration,
oligopoly and monopolistic competition, the EU competition commission and potential single markets
which are not yet subject to scrutiny by the competition commission.
Industry supplier concentration measures how many suppliers there are in a certain industry. The
amount of firms in an industry will affect whether the firms are involved in an oligopoly, a
monopolistic market or a perfectly competitive market. Concentration ratios can be used to measure
how concentrated a certain industry is. The most common concentration ratio used is the four firm
concentration ratio which measures the output of the 4 largest firms in the market and gives that as a
ratio of the overall industry sales. Another method of measuring concentration within an industry is by
using the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI).This measurement is calculated by determining the
market share of each firm, squaring each number then adding them together. If the number that is
calculated is below 1000 it is considered to be of a low concentration and if it is above 1800 it is
considered highly concentrated, however it can be between 0 (perfect competition) and 10,000 (pure
monopoly). (MICROECONOMICS 2007)
In the sample, the suppliers will be measured by a HHI as to show market concentration. It would not

The Infringement Of The Copyright Infringement
1) Does that forwarding email institute for copyright infringement:
The copyright in an email is determined by its content. Forwarding emails is generally not considered
to be a breach of copyright, but, one should carefully consider the nature of the content of the email
and whether it is appropriate to forward it, as other legal issues, such as privacy and confidentiality,
also apply.
According to Copyright Act, it considers sending emails as an act of communication, although, the
issue with emails is that they are easy to copy and forward to my people. Distribution is normally a
restricted right of the copyright owner and to do without the permission of the copyright owner would
be a breach of copyright (Darrow Ferrera, 2007). Fair use occupies half of the copyright law and
grants limited right to use other s works, regardless of the approval. The most common remedy for
copyright infringement is awarding damages to the copyright owner.
2) Oppose the text to speech feature? What markets for your work, if any, might be adversely
affected?
An audiobook, which is a voice performance of a text by an actor, who is a human being, introduces
all the emotional aspects and understate real life signs into the reading to make the story sound alive
while being listened (Darrow Ferrera, 2007). On the other hand, text to speech uses an inhuman
computer voice to simply repeat the written text as the imitated spoken word. Thus, reading any book

The Poetry Of Confessional Poetry
Poetry isn t just a mere play on words to make something sound fancy, rather it is a personal piece of
artwork that defines the moment for what it is.
With the coming of the late 1950s to the 1960s, there arose a new style of poetry, they called it
confessional poetry. In the complete literary sense, confessional poetry translates to personal poetry or
rather in the first person. Confessional poetry is more than just that, confessional poetry is a platform
or rather a stage where the emotions and personal experiences of poet make something as beautiful as
poetry. Confessional poetry did touch upon touchy subjects like mental illness, suicide, sexuality and
so on.

Ginsberg is to have recalled hearing a very deep earthen grave voice in the room, which I immediately

Over the next two and a half years, we worked to develop and refine CRISP DM. We ran trials in live,
large scale data mining projects at Mercedes Benz and at our insurance sector partner, OHRA. We
worked on the integration of CRISP DM with commercial data mining tools. The SIG proved
invaluable, growing to over 200 members and holding workshops in London, New York, and Brussels.
By the end of the EC funded part of the project mid 1999 we had produced what we considered a good
quality draft of the process model. Those familiar with that draft will find that a year later, although
now much more complete and better presented, CRISP DM 1.0 is by no means radically different. We
were acutely aware that, during the project, the process model was still very much a work in progress;
CRISP DM had only been validated on a narrow set of projects. Over the past year, DaimlerChrysler
had the opportunity to apply CRISP DM to a wider range of applications. SPSS and NCR s

Melanie Klein s Interpretation Of Dreams By Sigmund Freud
Melanie Klein was a truly inspiring psychoanalysis. With no previous education in this field and being
a working mother of three children she discovered psychoanalysis after reading Interpretation of
dreams by Sigmund Freud. She brought about a new way of child analysis by introducing play with
toys and showed us the importance of the early stages of a child s development. She also taught us
about depressive and paranoid schizoid positions and which are still used in psychoanalysis today. All
of this however, came at a cost to Klein; she was in a loveless marriage, suffered depression with the
pregnancy of her second child and spent a lot of time away from her children when they were young.
She also lost a lot of close people to her throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her mother died a few months later and her husband Arthur went to war. This was the start of Klein
reading Freud s Interpretations of dreams . She also started her own analysis with a Hungarian
psychoanalyst Sandor Ferenczi. He encouraged her to take an interest in her own children
psychoanalytically. Her discovery that a child s play could be used as the equivalent of an adults free
association a means of gaining access to the unconscious modes of thought (Juliet Mitchell, 1987 p.
35). He was so impressed with her work that he gave her the role of clinical assistant at the association
of child research. Klein worked very hard there and in 1919 she submitted a paper about child
development and schooling to the Hungarian Psycho Analytical Society and was admitted as
psychoanalysis because of this. One of the many interesting and surprising experiences of the beginner
in child analysis is to find even in very young children a capacity for insight which is often far greater
than that of adults (Melanie Klein. (n.d.). BrainyQuote.com).
In 1921, Melanie had to leave Hungary due to the anti Semitic atmosphere after the war. Her marriage
broke up with Arthur, this had been rocky for some time and she moved her family to Berlin. Her
daughter Melitta studied medicine there and Klein was analysed by Karl Abraham a German
Psychoanalysist. Abraham was very influential on Melanie and supported her work

The Importance Of Simulation In Nursing
Simulation is an educational approach that allows nurses to refine, expand, and apply skills and
knowledge to sensible medical conditions. The nurses participate in experiences that involve
interactive learning to meet the needs of their education. Nurses who engage in simulated learning
have the potential to identify specific scenarios while at the same time developing competencies and
skills, which improve their learning and experience. Simulation enables healthcare providers to work
without panic, thus minimizing the risk of harm to patients. The teaching strategy optimizes the
outcomes of care and contributes to patient safety, providing the learners with the opportunity to
intervene in clinical situations and experience scenarios with a safe, unsupervised setting without
exposing risks to the patients. In this, simulation in nursing enables the learners to acquire knowledge
and skills, improve their critical thinking skills to rescue lives, and enhance mental health nursing
education. In the teaching career, simulation enables beginners to obtain acquaintance and skills. It is
an important aspect of education for working caregivers and students. The Institute of Medicine
supports simulation as a constant attainment of skills and knowledge (Michelle Aebersold Dana
Tschannen 2013). When learners use simulation, they acquire knowledge and skills, enabling them to
reduce the rates of mortality and morbidity. The knowledge acquired from this aspect also enables

Descriptive Narrative
I remember packing my bags like it was yesterday. Although I ve been excitedly anticipating this trip

school organized a trip of which seniors, who were a part of the Environmental Science course, could
go on an eight day adventure in the vast jungles of Belize and explore the party island itself San
Pedro. While the other four students (five total including myself) had trouble departing the school
along with their loved ones, there was me who was impatiently waiting and eagerly ready to go. I
mean come on, it was just eight days in a foreign country without cell service; however, that was the
adrenaline speaking. Before I knew it, we arrived at LAX. I felt my stomach begin to knot as we were
boarding the plane. Having extreme motion sickness wasn t the best trait to have at that time.
However, I endured the nausea and managed the aches knowing there was a new world ahead of me.
Entering Belize, the amount of green I saw was immeasurable. And better yet, the colored people were
just as abundant. I could already tell that this trip would be one for the books and what a big book that
would turn out to be. We were immediately greeted by our tour guide Manuel, whose humor and
benevolence carried us through our trips entirety, and created for each of us timeless and precious
memories. Without Manuel, and of course his trusty sidekick Beto who drove the tour bus, we wouldn

The Positive And Negative Effects Of Mosquitoes
According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, every year more than 1.5 million people around the
globe lose their lives due to mosquito borne diseases (2012). A mosquito is an insect which lives
around the world, especially in tropical and subtropical countries. The mosquito has both positive and
negative effects. As part of positive effects, larvae of mosquitoes are food for fish and dragonflies, and
when mosquitoes consume nectar, they help the flowers to pollinate. On the other hand, mosquitoes
make people annoyed and cause many diseases. World Health Organization (2016) explains that the
mosquito is the greatest menace which causes many diseases and they are responsible for more than
million deaths and cases every year. There are many diseases that caused by mosquitoes, but the
diseases are commonly found and get people s attention because they have many negative effects on

The And Progression Of Schizophrenia
Two Hit Model of Schizophrenia, Discussion, Criticism, and Application to The Onset and
Progression of Schizophrenia
LA14495
University of Maryland Baltimore County
December 2016
Abstract
The purpose of this paper will be to discuss the two hit model of schizophrenia, including what it is,
how it may inform treatment and prevention of schizophrenia, how it applies to schizophrenia for the
duration of onset and progression, and how various primary sources support or challenge the model.
We are finding that despite some inconsistencies between numerous findings and the model, the model
serves as a suitable general explanation of schizophrenia onset and progression.
The two hit model of schizophrenia proposes that disturbances to central nervous system
development, leaves a person exposed to the onset of schizophrenia symptoms caused by various gene
environmental interactions. The disturbances to central nervous system development are the first hit in
the two hit model, and the gene environmental interactions that are able to cause the onset of
schizophrenia in conjunction with the disturbances to central nervous system development are the
second hit in the two hit model.
Schizophrenia is usually grouped into three phases, the prodromal, active, and residual phases.
Usually the prodromal phase occurs during the teen years or early twenties, and most of the time it
occurs before the active phase. There is on occasion, mention of a fourth phase called

The Impact Of Telemedicine On Health, A Systematic...

To evaluate and study the impact of telemedicine in health, a systematic literature review was
conducted. An electronic research through the University of Maryland library was done the articles
selected dated from 2000 to 2014. A total of 12 articles was reviewed that dealt with clinical
outcomes, efficacy, patient and provider satisfaction. Telemedicine as an emerging field can greatly
improve the outcomes of healthcare thus resulting in decrease the delivery cost of healthcare. While
the results of the studies are inconclusive on some of the areas, there are some strong supports for
patient satisfaction. The literature reviews cost effectiveness, provider satisfaction, patient satisfaction

Several managed care organizations were represented. All of the organizations interviewed indicated
that there is a market demand for complementary and alternative medicine such as Telemedicine. The
study showed that while cost and clinical efficacy were important, both of these were less important
than market demand. This unexpected result show that consumer demands are actually more important
in shaping the demand for telemedicine and should be used to pursue development of telemedicine
among healthcare providers that will essentially lead to better reimbursement from health insurance
companies (Whitten and Kuwahara, 2003). Whitten and Kuwara states that payers must answer both
patients need and suppliers concerns of telemedicine cost Methods and Organization of the Report.
Qualitative reports on 12 peer reviewed articles were researched through the University of Maryland
to get information on the cost effectiveness, clinical efficacy, individual and provider satisfaction. The
12 articles printed dates ranged from 200 and 2014. The articles represented articles that have been
published on the topic of telemedicine subject in various areas. The review articles began with
searching the database looking for articles on telemedicine and found a possible 100 articles on the
topic and were narrowed down to just a few dozen that fit the standards the matter was searching for.

Raising a child with a birth defect
A birth defect is a physical or mental malformation present at birth. Some birth defects are visible
such as leprosy, and some are eternal such as abnormal body function and divergent blood cells.
Additionally, some birth deficiencies are genetic, and others transpire when external factors affect a
child maturation in the womb. For instance, a child whose mother smoked during pregnancy is

As a parent or a guardian, you should admit the feeling of surprise, anger, and denial that devour you.
It is natural and very acceptable to feel emotionally disturbed but do not let it weigh you down, talk to
a counselor or a psychotherapist that can help you come in term with the new reality.
Seek specialized care. Early intervention is pivotal in evaluating your child s need and seeking
treatment for him/her. Getting nutrimental advice, distinguish which occupational therapy may suit
your child need and seek suitable professionals to coordinate with in your endeavor to make your kid
better.
Commemorate your child. A child with a congenital disability is prone to stigmatization, mainly in a
society that views a child weakness as a curse or worse, Insulate your child from the surrounding
discrimination.Raising a child with a birth defect should not be draining job to any parent or guardian.
Remember to let yourself enjoy your child the same way you could have if she/he was born with no

The British Of The Colonial Expansion And Governance
Leveraging its advantages in technology and belief in its moral superiority the British were able to
build and manage this vast empire through networks of trade, political governance and force (Mann
and Roberts, 1991; Lawrence, 1996). The establishment and perpetuation of British legal institutions
was an integral part of the colonial expansion and governance. POGG, therefore, was undoubtedly a
creature designed by the British to exercise direct and indirect imperial control over its overseas
territories (Yusuf, 2014). The success of this approach to expanding and maintaining an empire is
evidenced by the fact that by it was the largest empire in world history. It eventually included large
geographic area of Africa, Asia, North America and the Caribbean with its reach in global trade
including close links with South America and other areas (Lawrence 1996).
Figure 1.2: The British Empire (colored red) as it was in 1921 (The British Empire in 1921, n.d)
This growth of the empire reflects both the transposition of British institutions and adaptation to the
environment of the colonized lands. The British colonial institutional development reflected a policy
which by 1839 focused primarily on constitutional rule and relations with the far flung territories.
Compared to the French Empire, the result was a more decentralized system designed to reduce any
basis for rebellion or discord in the colony (Grier, 1999). The existence and persistence of a signature

Comparing Cheuse And Separate Way
Both, And of Clay Are We Created by Isabel Allende and Separate ways have characteristics that
make them agree with the essay by Alan Cheuse and the history of the short story, as well as fall right
along with the style of literature during that time period in the history of their country s literature.
In The Alan Cheuse essay he begins by giving us the origin of the modern day short story. Although
the exact day is not known, we can trace the origins of the modern day short story to the 19th century.
Edgard Allan Poe began by creating fictional stories that coincided with the growing popularity of
entertainment, unlike the traditional short stories that were folk tales who ended bringing light to a
moral dilemma or history of the world and gods (Cheuse 25). According to Alan Cheuse, The modern

In fact, the language used in literature and the one used to communicate by everyday citizens were
two totally different languages. This time in Japanese history is the Meiji era. This time is very
important because, it signifies the re opening of Japan to the West. Once open to western literary
ideas, techniques, and industrialization European literature began to spread into Japan. Things like free
verse was brought to poetic repertoire opening the world s literature to new themes and ideas. Writers
during the Meiji are began to try and write pieces of literature that everyone can understand. Sakutaro
Hagiwara is known as the father of modern Japanese poetry (Hayes). Before becoming a writer,
Hagiwara entertained individuals by juggling or magic, however transitioned into becoming the start
of a revolutionary change in Japanese literature. Futabatei Shimei was said to have produced the first
modern novel, Ukigumo. The way the book was written was a new style or colloquial style of
language. This style of writing was the adopted by many younger

Korea Vs America
The struggle for freedom has existed since the beginning of civilization. When creating a nation,
leaders must decide who has power, and how much power they should have. But where is the balance
between an excess of freedom and insufficient freedom? Two societies shall be compared: North
Korea and Somalia. North Koreans have little liberty to do what they choose. The government denies
human rights and allows citizens to starve, whilst using wealth better spent on its citizens to grow
military might. Giving citizens little freedom of choice is obviously not a good way to govern;
however, the opposite also makes for an unstable country ( Life ). Somalia is a shaky society with no
central government and instead a series of clans and sub clans. ... Show more content on

In history, total freedom has proved unsuccessful it makes an unstable country that cannot well defend
itself. Likewise, an excess of freedom becomes unsafe for citizens, as there are no laws to abide by
and no government to discipline transgressors. Furthermore, the only absolute freedom comes from
God, who makes us free in the depths of our souls from the power of sin. Jesus replied, Very truly I
tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a
son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:34 36 NIV). If
Christ has set you free, you will forever that is, all of eternity be free, and forever you will have a
place in God s kingdom as His son. In the words of Dr. De Haan, Like a raging fire, freedom without
limits is dangerous. But when controlled, it is a blessing to all (De Haan). Will you embrace the limits
of your freedom, and use the abundance of liberty in America to bless others? Or will you cause pain
to God by straying from Him? The choice is

The Importance Of Civil Engineering
When you hear of the word engineering, what comes to mind? Do you think of a train engine rolling
over the plains of South Dakota? Maybe you think of a bridge or a road? If you thought of either of
those things, you are correct. Furthermore, Civil Engineering is all of these things and a little more.
Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and
can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a
river to make it easier to get across (Civil Engineering). Some of the first ever examples of the civil
engineering was the roof and the bridge. Eventually, our knowledge and tools advanced to enhance the
durability and aestheticism of roads, bridges, and buildings. In addition to roads and bridges, civil
engineering also deals with planes, cars, and boats as well.
In order to become a civil engineer or any job, for instance, you must study and become a perfectionist
in that field. Studying in the school of engineering does not focus on just one subject of study. To put
differently, to become a professional in the job of an engineer you must excel in mathematics. Math is
one of the largest staples in engineering, architecture, and business. Diving deeper, at Iowa State
University Calculus 1 and 2 are two required courses to be taken in order to continue in the path of
engineering. In order to build the building that is aesthetically and structurally sufficient engineers

Baseball, America s Pastime
Baseball is referred to as America s Pastime. Many people argue it is one of the hardest sports to
succeed in. Out of the four major sports in the United States, hitting a 95 mile per hour fastball is a
goal only few can accomplish at a professional level. With only 750 players throughout 30 Major
League Baseball (MLB) teams, the odds of making it to The Show are highly unlikely. To make it to
the big leagues as an African American player was an even harder feat to accomplish in the mid to late
1900 s. Baseballs Greatest Experiment tells the story of how MLB was an all white mans game up
until the death of Commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis in 1944. Team owners and the
commissioner did not want to integrate African Americans into the MLB; some experts argued that the
absence of blacks in the majors stemmed from their lack of talent, intelligence and desire ( Tygiel, 32).
Since Jackie Robinson overcame many obstacles, baseball players and fans alike can argue that he
paved the way for African Americans in baseball and challenged societal social structure. As African
Americans started to make names for themselves in other sports such as the boxer Joe Louis, people
questioned why African Americans were not allowed to play baseball. Tygiel brought it to attention
that, the emergence of Joe Louis as the world heavyweight boxing champion and a national hero led
many American s to re evaluate their prejudices ( Tygiel, 35). As African American boxers started
beating

  • 2. The Aeneid, The Hero Aeneas Essay In Virgil s Aeneid , the hero Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, is faced with a series of challenges. To overcome these challenges, Aeneas seeks help from the gods as he tries to make his way back home. In Homer s The Odyssey , the hero Odysseus spends ten years trying to return to his homeland, Ithaca. Both heroes face similar challenges that they need to overcome in order to accomplish their goals. The Odyssey has two characters that hinder the hero s journey; Calypso and Circe. The Aeneid has the character Dido who delays Aeneas journey. This essay will compare both stories, showing similarities and differences of how the hero s journey was delayed. The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, written by Virgil between 29 and 19 B.C. The story is centered on the main character, Aeneas, a Trojan war survivor and leader of the Trojans after the fall of Troy. Aeneas and his men sail for Italy, where he is destined to found Rome. While sailing for their destination, a fierce storm redirects the fleet to the island Carthage; ...a howling wind from the North Struck against the sail. Waves shot to the start. The oars shattered. A Formal Analysis of Potential Career Choices A Formal Analysis Of Potential Career Choices Introduction A formal analysis of the characteristics and outlook for two possible career choices Policeman vs. Lawyer is a valuable tool in the decision making process used by an employment candidate to make a successful selection between them. New entrants into the job market face a very competitive environment and training (or re training) for jobs is frequently expensive and time consuming. Therefore there is a definite need to make one s career decisions using a comprehensive, formal analysis in order to promote a successful and satisfying career choice. Background information was gathered by a search of peer reviewed articles from governmental and professional journal sources in the literature. These articles provided several important variables to be considered in the methodology, including: (a) candidate gender; (b) candidate ethnicity; (c) educational level; (d) physical demands; (e) mental/analytical demands; (f) pathways to advancement; and (g) employment outlook. These decision variables are identified for each potential career choice and then compared and contrasted between the career options. A conclusion is then reached as to a recommended best fit option relative to a candidate s career goals and interests. Buddhism evolved as a modification of Hinduism when Hinduism started to become very complicated due to too many sacrifices in the name of God. Today, an estimated 300 million people follow one of the many varieties of Buddhism. Budda, or Siddhartha Guatama which means the awakened one had the religion named after him because he founded the ideas behind Buddhism. Budda, a very wealthy man, was not fulfilled with his life. These were collected into the Abhidharma or higher teachings. But they, too, encouraged disagreements, so that one group after another left the fold. Ultimately, 18 schools developed, each with their own interpretations of various issues, and spread all over India and Southeast Asia. A significant development happened at the same time as the Buddhist movement began to spread and that was the opening of a new way through, from India to China. Today, we call this way the Silk Road , and we associate it with famous travelers like Marco Polo, whose journeys to China astounded the Europeans of his day. The route was first established by the Chinese in search of horses and trade. It dates back to the second century BC. From that time, it became a regular journey for traders seeking to make a small fortune. In the following centuries, the route fell under control of different political groups, but was always well used until the 15th century AD when sea trade dominated. From early days, silk was exported from China to Italy where it became immensely popular. Grapes and wine making were soon introduced to the East as well as perfumes, spices, unknown animals and birds such as peacocks. From China, we first encountered roses, oranges and pears. The Exceptional Life Of Walt Disney The Exceptional Life of Walter Elias Disney All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them Walt Disney Walter Elias Disney has made one of the greatest impacts in the entertainment industry and popular culture around the world (Walter Elias Disney, 2015). From his most famous creation, Mickey Mouse, to his invention of Disneyland, and to all his achievements made in the movie industry, Walt has changed the world. Few individuals have had the ability to impact the world they way Walt Disney did and still is doing today even though he is no longer alive (Walter Elias Disney, 2015). Walt was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5 of 1901. He was the son of Elias Disney and Flora Call. Walt was raised near Marceline and in Kansas City, Missouri. Walt s childhood was anything but exceptional. His father was very strict and administered corrective beatings daily to Walt and his brother Roy (Walter Elias Disney, 2015). • 10. Summary Of Interactive Data Visualization By Charles... In his essay, The Re Emergence of Emotional Appeals in Interactive Data Visualization , Charles Kostelnick compares printed data to language by noting media s limited ability to stimulate thought and send a relatable message. Kostelnick states these two modes of messaging can evoke empathy or fear in an audience, but for what purpose? As his essay unfolds, he makes it clear that messaging must be multi faceted implementing color, interactive elements and animations to truly evoke a substantial response in the viewer. This dissection seems to parallel many elements and stylistic approaches film uses to captivate its audiences. Perhaps Kostelnick is right viral ad campaigns show that the average consumer connects well to a message that is truly heartfelt. For example, the new Amazon Prime ad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here I found parallels between his depiction of language s ability to evoke and express emotion and the limitations that coincide with printed data expression. Kostelnick posits that if one can connect one s audience to data in a tactile, immediate way, their emotional response will bring about engagement and interest. Data then, like language, must collaborate with color, imagery, and the viewer s ability to directly relate and feel empathy. Otherwise, printed data alone as with language alone simply cannot accomplish the same level of human connection. In sum, to be effective the message needs movement, color, and human influence. The viewer must feel that they are an active part in the data in order to feel most connected to it. Similarly, this is the case in the viral video messaging and film of today s world. Kostelnick may not have mentioned film in his essay, but he doesn t have to directly say it to point out to us just how we can make data consumption a more engaging, empathy inspired action by pulling from the ways of ... Children And Youth Of Prince George s County Problem Identification: As African American moved to Prince George s County to be part of a phenomenon that has been rare in American history: a community that grew more upscale as it became more black. The county became a national symbol of the American Dream with a black twist (Michael, 2015). However, their dreams were shattered. Moreover, when white families departed as the black population grew, one of the consequences of this action was the quality of education in the public school system, declined which cause many affluent black families to turn away from the public school system. Summary of case/describe the particular: Experts say the trend in Prince George s is similar to what has happened in other large school systems that have struggled academically: The loss of middle class families has led to a higher percentage of poor students using the public school system, less local accountability and waning community involvement. • 12. The Importance Of Discrimination In Society Man has always been fascinated with the concept of a moral right and wrong, and people will often debate as to who or what defines morality as a whole. Every day, numerous women in India face discrimination and prejudice based on the soul fact they are born female. Cultural traditions and harsh gender norms have been set out by society to lessen the voice of females. When asked about the theme of his book Lord of the Flies, author William Golding states that the theme is an attempt to trace the defects of society back to the defects of human nature. Contrary to Golding, the Indian gendercide crisis demonstrates that discrimination is the result of a notoriously strict patriarchal society instilling prejudice in its citizens, rather than man simply being born good or evil . Discrimination is a lethal tool that societies use to deem select groups of people as more important, and it is this arrogance that drives hate in nations. A human being s eligibility for equal treatment and rights is not determined by how much he or she meets cultural standards and ideals. The issue of prejudice is greatly talked about by many organizations around the world, but Amnesty International does one of the best jobs of defining the overall goal: [everyone has] the right to be treated equally, regardless of our race, ethnicity, nationality, class, caste, religion, belief, sex, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, health or other status ( Discrimination ). This essay will discuss industry supplier concentration, oligopoly and monopolistic competition, the EU competition commission and potential single markets which are not yet subject to scrutiny by the competition commission. Industry supplier concentration measures how many suppliers there are in a certain industry. The amount of firms in an industry will affect whether the firms are involved in an oligopoly, a monopolistic market or a perfectly competitive market. Concentration ratios can be used to measure how concentrated a certain industry is. The most common concentration ratio used is the four firm concentration ratio which measures the output of the 4 largest firms in the market and gives that as a ratio of the overall industry sales. Another method of measuring concentration within an industry is by using the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI).This measurement is calculated by determining the market share of each firm, squaring each number then adding them together. If the number that is calculated is below 1000 it is considered to be of a low concentration and if it is above 1800 it is considered highly concentrated, however it can be between 0 (perfect competition) and 10,000 (pure monopoly). With the coming of the late 1950s to the 1960s, there arose a new style of poetry, they called it confessional poetry. In the complete literary sense, confessional poetry translates to personal poetry or rather in the first person. Confessional poetry is more than just that, confessional poetry is a platform or rather a stage where the emotions and personal experiences of poet make something as beautiful as poetry. Confessional poetry did touch upon touchy subjects like mental illness, suicide, sexuality and so on. As the times progressed there were quite a few poets who came out to dabble ... With this encounter in mind, Ginsberg was rather keen to have such images and abnormal experiences in the future. So with that, he started experimenting with various special kinds of drugs. Drugs were already a part of Ginsberg s life, he s done it with fellow friends back in college. Yet, at this point is when he discovered psychedelic drugs. Over the next two and a half years, we worked to develop and refine CRISP DM. We ran trials in live, large scale data mining projects at Mercedes Benz and at our insurance sector partner, OHRA. We worked on the integration of CRISP DM with commercial data mining tools. The SIG proved invaluable, growing to over 200 members and holding workshops in London, New York, and Brussels. By the end of the EC funded part of the project mid 1999 we had produced what we considered a good quality draft of the process model. Those familiar with that draft will find that a year later, although now much more complete and better presented, CRISP DM 1.0 is by no means radically different. We were acutely aware that, during the project, the process model was still very much a work in progress; CRISP DM had only been validated on a narrow set of projects. Over the past year, DaimlerChrysler had the opportunity to apply CRISP DM to a wider range of applications. SPSS and NCR s Professional Services groups have adopted CRISP DM and used it successfully on numerous customer engagements covering many industries and business problems. With no previous education in this field and being a working mother of three children she discovered psychoanalysis after reading Interpretation of dreams by Sigmund Freud. She also taught us about depressive and paranoid schizoid positions and which are still used in psychoanalysis today. All of this however, came at a cost to Klein; she was in a loveless marriage, suffered depression with the pregnancy of her second child and spent a lot of time away from her children when they were young. Klein worked very hard there and in 1919 she submitted a paper about child development and schooling to the Hungarian Psycho Analytical Society and was admitted as psychoanalysis because of this. • 33. The Importance Of Simulation In Nursing Simulation is an educational approach that allows nurses to refine, expand, and apply skills and knowledge to sensible medical conditions. The nurses participate in experiences that involve interactive learning to meet the needs of their education. Nurses who engage in simulated learning have the potential to identify specific scenarios while at the same time developing competencies and skills, which improve their learning and experience. Simulation enables healthcare providers to work without panic, thus minimizing the risk of harm to patients. The teaching strategy optimizes the outcomes of care and contributes to patient safety, providing the learners with the opportunity to intervene in clinical situations and experience scenarios with a safe, unsupervised setting without exposing risks to the patients. In this, simulation in nursing enables the learners to acquire knowledge and skills, improve their critical thinking skills to rescue lives, and enhance mental health nursing education. In the teaching career, simulation enables beginners to obtain acquaintance and skills. It is an important aspect of education for working caregivers and students. The Institute of Medicine supports simulation as a constant attainment of skills and knowledge (Michelle Aebersold Dana Tschannen 2013). Nevertheless, I was going to Belize! Our school organized a trip of which seniors, who were a part of the Environmental Science course, could go on an eight day adventure in the vast jungles of Belize and explore the party island itself San Pedro. While the other four students (five total including myself) had trouble departing the school along with their loved ones, there was me who was impatiently waiting and eagerly ready to go. I mean come on, it was just eight days in a foreign country without cell service; however, that was the adrenaline speaking. Before I knew it, we arrived at LAX. I felt my stomach begin to knot as we were boarding the plane. Having extreme motion sickness wasn t the best trait to have at that time. However, I endured the nausea and managed the aches knowing there was a new world ahead of me. Entering Belize, the amount of green I saw was immeasurable. And better yet, the colored people were just as abundant. I could already tell that this trip would be one for the books and what a big book that would turn out to be. We were immediately greeted by our tour guide Manuel, whose humor and benevolence carried us through our trips entirety, and created for each of us timeless and precious memories. The And Progression Of Schizophrenia Two Hit Model of Schizophrenia, Discussion, Criticism, and Application to The Onset and Progression of Schizophrenia LA14495 University of Maryland Baltimore County December 2016 Abstract The purpose of this paper will be to discuss the two hit model of schizophrenia, including what it is, how it may inform treatment and prevention of schizophrenia, how it applies to schizophrenia for the duration of onset and progression, and how various primary sources support or challenge the model. We are finding that despite some inconsistencies between numerous findings and the model, the model serves as a suitable general explanation of schizophrenia onset and progression. The two hit model of schizophrenia proposes that disturbances to central nervous system development, leaves a person exposed to the onset of schizophrenia symptoms caused by various gene environmental interactions. The disturbances to central nervous system development are the first hit in the two hit model, and the gene environmental interactions that are able to cause the onset of schizophrenia in conjunction with the disturbances to central nervous system development are the second hit in the two hit model. Schizophrenia is usually grouped into three phases, the prodromal, active, and residual phases. Usually the prodromal phase occurs during the teen years or early twenties, and most of the time it occurs before the active phase. There is on occasion, mention of a fourth phase called ... The British Of The Colonial Expansion And Governance Leveraging its advantages in technology and belief in its moral superiority the British were able to build and manage this vast empire through networks of trade, political governance and force (Mann and Roberts, 1991; Lawrence, 1996). The establishment and perpetuation of British legal institutions was an integral part of the colonial expansion and governance. Maybe you think of a bridge or a road? If you thought of either of those things, you are correct. Furthermore, Civil Engineering is all of these things and a little more. Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across (Civil Engineering). With only 750 players throughout 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, the odds of making it to The Show are highly unlikely. To make it to the big leagues as an African American player was an even harder feat to accomplish in the mid to late 1900 s.
