Evaluation Of Epidemiological Problem Of Epidemiology
EVALUATION OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL PROBLEM
NAME
INSTITUTIONAL AFFILIATION
Introduction
Epidemiology is the branch of public health which attempts to discover the causes of disease in
order to make disease prevention possible. Therefore epidemiology is the study of the distribution
and determinants of health related states or events in specified populations and the application of
the knowledge to control of health problems. The focus is on epidemiology in public health, that is,
its use as part of the wider process of discovering the causes of disease and preventing its
occurrence in human populations. This study majorly is on varicella virus which causes chickenpox
and shows its effects on children. Researchers conducted based ... Show more content on

Individuals who have suffered the chickenpox infection develop lifetime immunity as they are
unlikely to be infected by it again. However, the virus remains dormant in the body and it can start
reactivating later in life (Golas, Bennett, White, Skarf, Lesser, Nagel, Gilden 2015)..
Signs and symptoms of chickenpox
It is important to understand that anyone who has not had chickenpox or received the chickenpox
vaccine can be infected by the disease. Chickenpox infections usually do last a period of about 5 10
days. The common symptom of chickenpox is a rash that turns into itchy, fluid filled blisters that in
the end turn into scabs.
Other signs and symptoms, which may before the rash, include:
high fever
tiredness
loss of appetite
headache
Once the chickenpox rash appears, it goes through three phases:
Raised pink or red bumps, which break out over several days. They may first shows up on the
face, chest, and back before spreading to other parts of the body, which may include inside the
mouth, eyelids, or genital area.
Fluid filled blisters, this forms from the raised bumps. They may take about one day prior to
starting breaking and leaking.
Crusts and scabs, which cover the broken blisters and take several days to heal.

Primate Behavior In King Kong
For my journal I will be talking about the 2005 movie King Kong. I will be giving a little
synopsis over it and also give an analysis on the primate behavior and how I think we are related.
The movie starts off in New york where a sketchy movie director wanting to make a movie but
ends up taking a different route. The director sets for sail with his crew and an actress he just
picked off of the side of the streets. With not much of a plan and him being wanted by police the
captain plans on stopping the trip but just ends up at skull island. Not knowing much about the
island, they end up facing the people of the island a big beast known as kong, and many other
dangerous creatures. Not only did they end up in a sketchy situation but Ann the only lady in the
crew gets kidnapped by the natives and is human sacrifice to Kong.... Show more content on

Not knowing much of each other on how to act, the two ends up becoming close and kong turns
out to be a big guardian to the Ann. The two builds a bond that no one would understand except
them because kong is known as a beast. Still being away from the rest of the crew, the crew tries
to find and get Ann back not knowing all the dangerous encounters they had to face. The movie
director again has his own plans with kong, so as they try to rescue Ann he also ends up luring
and capturing Kong. The director then brought Kong back to New York where he plans to make a
show out of Kong, by reenacting the scenes of kong and Ann s encounters. Of course things turns
out bad when Kong gets crazy and escapes trying to look for Ann. The two meet again where they
run off in the city and Kong carries Ann up the empire state building where he then gets surrounded

International And World Trade Law
Introduction International and World Trade Law Counterfeiting
This reflective paper will address several issues associated with international and world trade law
as they pertain to counterfeiting and discussing the connections between business, law, politics and
ethics with regard to counterfeiting. First, it will discuss the legal and ethical issues related to
boycotting goods from other countries, as well as the practical business implications of such a
move. Next, this paper will analyze the problem of World Trade Organization(WTO) participant
nations and their ability to address the problems of counterfeiting. Finally, it will discuss the type of
action the United Nations might take with regard to the counterfeiting issue.
Boycotting Goods from Other Countries
To discuss the legal and ethical issues relating to this subject, one must first define ethical behavior.
According to Merriam Webster, it is: ethics: an area of study that deals with ideas about what is
good and bad behavior : a branch of philosophy dealing with what is morally right or wrong
(Simple Definition of ethic, n.d., para 1). Whereas it is not illegal to boycott goods from other
countries, corporations usually do this for several reasons to include: as a protest against U.S.
foreign policy, a potential harm to U.S. relations with that country (due to dubious human rights
practices, etc.), an attempt to protect local/national produce, or an issue of quality of life (due to

Issues resolved by CRM package * With the help of CRM along with recognition of the customer
providing personal services was also possible. This helps in tailoring the experience according to
customer needs and creating a long term relationship. For eg. Rooms can be pre assigned and
prepared according to customer preferences. * It was also possible to classify customers along
different levels (Gold, Diamond etc.) and providing them with differential services. Tiered
system allowed the hotels to prioritize pre assignment and service delivery by identifying most
valuable guests. This results in improving efficiency of service by focusing more on most
valuable customers. * To maintain brand name uniform services are to be maintained across the
hotel chain. With centralized OnQ infrastructure, it became possible for Hilton Hotels to
replicate their services across the various hotels across the globe. * The CRM systems helped the
company in differentiating its service as well as optimizing some of the activities which lead to

Hester as an Imperfect Heroine
The Scarlet Letter, a story of Hester Prynne and her paramour, Reverend Dimmesdale, and her
malicious husband in pursuit for revenge, Roger Chillingworth. The novel begins in the Puritan
society in Boston, Massachusetts, during the 1640 s. The town first ostracizes Hester because of
their strong religious beliefs. Hester is then faced with an immense struggle against the town and
Roger Chillingworth. Through this struggle she is developed into a heroine, or a woman admired
for her courage, achievements, or noble qualities; although she is not the perfect heroine because
she starts her journey at the lowest point in Puritan society, in sin. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The
Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne overcomes the Puritan community and Roger Chillingworth to defy
adversity and become a heroine whom everyone to admire.
Even though the Puritan society aims to discourage Hester, she finds a way to display her pride
and grace. To begin, Hester makes her way out of jail exhibiting her dignity when appearing with
the scarlet letter before the town: On the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an
elaborate embroidery and fantastic flourishes of gold thread, appeared the letter A. It was so
artistically done, and with so much fertility and gorgeous luxuriance of fancy, that it had all the
effect of a last and fitting decoration to the apparel which she wore... (37).

Cross-Curricular Learning Essay
Making cognitive connections, within subjects and between subjects... ( Piaget 1977, Cockburn
and Haylock 2008,Rose 2009) is an aspect of cross curricular learning. Generally speaking, cross
curricular learning is when skills, knowledge and attitudes of a number of disciplines which are
applied to a single experience, problem, question, theme or idea. In simple terms, it s also known
as a thematic approach. From this point, I d be exploring the reasons why a thematic approach
should be adopted in the classroom and this approach could deliver the four core subjects in the

This form of assessment allows me to find out children s prior learning experiences and interests
and gives me an indication of where they are at, whilst children getting to have a voice in what
goes on in their classroom. On top of that, at the start of the term children would be able to engage
in theme based lessons by inquiring them to suggest themes they d like to study over the next half
term, this gives children the power to take control of their own learning and supports children s
intrinsic motivation of wanting to learn for themselves.
Again, due to the fact that children s interests and experiences are used to form a platform for
learning, the thematic approach tends to lend itself to be more motivating for pupils in conjunction
with their wider life experiences, as suggested by Barnes (2009). (Mumford. D (2000) Planning a
theme based unit, Canada: Pacific Edge Publishing Ltd) This kind of assumption asserts that all
children responds positively to the same style of teaching or the same stimulus. However, he
neglects that motivation arises from many sources and children are inspired by different and
unpredictable outputs. It is therefore understood that cross curricular approach will not suit all
children. But at the same time, as my role as a

Joplin s Influence On American Culture
The 1960s in America were a time of turbulence, and due to the Cold War, political
assassinations, racial violence, and a developing hippie subculture the decade was essentially an
all inclusive. Every American s life was affected by the radical change taking place during the
1960s, moreover one young woman from Port Arthur, Texas, embodied everything that the
decade would come to be known for. Alice Echols s book Scars of Sweet Paradise: The Life and
Times of Janis Joplin covers Janis Joplin who was an outrageous and out of control rock singer and
song writer who attempted to break through the restrictions of society. Though Joplin had an impact

Port Arthur s features included graft, gambling, and prostitution, but also racism was so much a
part of the town s fabric that nigger knocking was a pastime among white teens. If anywhere
could teach a young adult by example that racism was morally incorrect then Port Arthur was the

limiting of Janis s life. Janis and her mother, Dorothy, disagreed consistently, moreover Dorothy
would disapprove nearly anytime Janis attempted to express her individualism. Dorothy stated
that she wanted Janis to be like everybody else. A minor victory for Dorothy was when Janis
went to college and found the university required freshmen and sophomore girls to live in dorms...

to 35 pounds. Not only does the appearance age, but also the organs experience the accelerated

Children with Progeria usually don t die by old age. Instead, they usually die at the average age of
13 from a cardiovascular disease, arteriosclerosis of some other disease that usually affects the very

Once called the leprechaun s disease , Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome was first described

reason why it took so long to find the gene for Childhood Progeria is that it only affects about one

Comparing The Midsummer s Night Dream And 500 Days Of Summer
Have you wondered what the true meaning of love is? The meaning of love, between
Shakespearean time and now? Or relationships from the past and now? This comparative essay

Theseus and Hippolyta, Tom and friends versus Helena and Hermia, Tom and Sister versus Egeus

Quinceaneras Research Paper
Quinceaneras and the Modern Day Fairytale Marked as a celebration of the transition from
childhood to womanhood, quinceaneras have been a long standing tradition among Latin
American families. Though quinceanera literally means fifteen year old girl, the term has become
more closely associated with the celebration itself, oftentimes by non latinx people. Among Latin
American families and culture, the celebration is often referred to as fiesta de quince aГ±os
(fifteen year party) or simply a quinces. To avoid any confusion, I use quinceanera to refer to the
celebration, rather than the individual, for the remainder of this paper. Historically, fifteen was
seen as the age when Latina girls were ready for marriage, and the quinceanera celebrated that
transition. While modern quinceaneras have drifted away from this initial intent, and now reflect
more of a celebratory coming of age narrative, the marriage and weddingrelated symbolism is still
apparent.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A majority of wedding dresses purchased in the United States are manufactured outside of the
country. The wedding dress industry relies heavily on the labor of foreign women and girls,
often from China, who work for around $12 a day (Ingraham pp. 70). By extent, this knowledge
can be applied to the quinceanera dress industry. There is a significant labor force present in Latin
America as well, which is somewhat ironic considering the quinceanera dress is a product that will
be marketed to Latin American girls in the United States. The socioeconomic difference between
Latina women in the Latin American labor market versus Latinx families in the US is what allows
for the latter to take advantage of the former. The wedding and quinceanera dress industries rely on
the exploitation of disadvantaged women of color in foreign countries in order to serve and

Product Development
Abstract
This paper will discuss the generic product development process. The product development
process represents the basic sequence of steps or activities that a firm employs to conceive, design,
and bring a product to market (Jacobs Chase, 2011). The process consists of six phases. Many of
the phases involve intellectual activities rather than physical activities. Many firms use the generic
product development process but others have more defined and precise process geared towards
their functions and products.
The product development process is essential to all business. Product development is the process of

Marketing will prepare for all sorts of testing. Many market research techniques are used to
encourage ideas including: running focus groups with consumers, channel members, and the
company s sales force; encouraging customer comments and suggestions via toll free telephone
numbers and website forms; and gaining insight on competitive product developments through
secondary data sources. (Know This, 1998 2012).
Marketing would then start preparing for a launch date and execute the next step to
manufacturing. A failure to define the product before development begins is a major cause of both
new product failure and serious delays in time to market. In spite of the fact that early and stable
product definition is consistently cited as a key to success, firms continue to perform poorly here
(Dr. Cooper Dr. Edgett, 2006). The results of the study will reveal several insights regarding the
blueprint. The products will have their chosen material to make the finish product. The
specification will be documented, completed, tested and ready for manufacturer to produce.
Meanwhile, the design team will have to resist from making product changes during development.
Any altering away from the original design could result in a delay amongst training, marketing, or a
launch date. Also these changes would result in lost time and require a formal review. Ultimately

Chinese Cultural Values
The cultural values of a country influence its national psychology and identity. Citizens values and
public opinions are conveyed to state leaders through the media and other information channels,
both directly and indirectly influencing decisions on foreign policy. The Chinese is one of the
world s oldest cultures, tracing back to hundreds and thousands of years ago. There are more than
fifty ethnic groups in Chinawho are fully diverse. Culture includes religion, food, music, language,
morals and many other things that make up how a group acts and interacts. Chinese art has
arguably the oldest continuous tradition in the world, and is marked by an unusual degree of
continuity within of classical styles. Much of the finest work was produced in large workshops
or factories by essentially unknown artists, especially in the field of Chinese porcelain. Much of
the best work in ceramics, textiles and other techniques was produced over a long period by the
various factories or workshops, which as well as being used by the court was distributed internally
and abroad on a huge scale to demonstrate the wealth and power of the Emperors. Most social
values are derived from Confucianism, Taoism, Daoism and Buddhism. Each unique cultural value
can pursue a different side of storytelling of an event or movement. The traditional cultural values
that influence the psyche of the Chinese people are benevolence/filial piety, righteousness, and
harmony.

Orality And Tradition
Like the tradition of English literature, the literary tradition of Barak Valley of Assam began its
journey with orality or oral tradition. It is believed that English literature originated with verses
of an extemporary kind (Albert 9) which were composed and verbally expressed long before the
written records. It is also interesting to note that poetry emerged much before the composition of
prose as a form of literature in written form. Most of the old English compositions derived their
subject or theme from religion and intended to deliver moral lessons. Likewise, oralityand folk oral
(literary and cultural) tradition of Barak Valley are indeed extemporary in nature and are mostly
in verse form. Their rhymes are surprisingly well balanced and they convey some sorts of moral
lessons experienced in day to day lives.
The rural societies, abounded with rich tradition and folk culture, have always been the source of
inspiration for the writers of world s greatest literatures including Bengali literature which has
produced Nobel Laureates like Rabindranath Tagore (1861 1941). Orality or oral culture and ...

underlying principles, values, and concepts utilized in thinking about moral life (xiii). They further
describe that through the elaboration of ideas, building upon of theories and methods of reason or
set of reasons, with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong, provide
those outside of the philosophical realm, a pathway through the complicated ethical issues that
surface in when dealing with the structure and behavior of living entities. Therefore, unlike other

Utilitarianism requires us to make decisions and choices on the basis of what is likely to happen
in the future and the course of action would be choosing those individuals who would best ensure
survival and the progress of civilization. However, the right or wrong of the technician s choices
depends on the outcomes in which they have no control over. The technician must consider all the
possible consequences of each action they take, which cannot be predicted. One course of action
may be to disregard the contract in place and based on the greater good, remove the rich playboy
from the chamber because they have no practical skills to contribute to everyone s overall survival
and replacing them with the water treatment specialist, who has extensive experience providing
clean water, a much needed commodity in the future. Suppose the technician chooses, for example,

Suicide: A permanent solution for a temporary problem
A person dies by suicide about every sixteen minutes in the United States. An attempt is
estimated to be made once every minute (mobap.edu). Jay Asher s novel, 13 Reasons Why, is
told by a seventeen year old girl named Hannah Baker, who faced substantial problems in high
school because of her classmates and the school s counselor. One classmate in particular had the
most impact on Hannah, which was Clay Jensen; Hannah s coworker, and most importantly her
crush. Clay comes home from school one day and finds a package on his porch containing several
cassette tapes, clay listens to the tapes one by one and goes around his town to understand and
visualize each scenario. Due to Hannah s problems she ends up committing suicide two weeks

The Soviet Threat, As Experienced By The United States...
Section I: Identification and Evaluation of Sources
This investigation will explore the question: To what extent was propaganda used to show the
Soviet threat, as experienced by the United States, during the Red Scare of the Cold War? The
scope of this investigation will be 1947 1957, to allow for analysis of the era of McCarthyism, as
well as the evolution of Anti Communism in American society.
The origin of the first source being evaluated is the book, Total Cold War
: Eisenhower s Secret
Propaganda Battle at Home and Abroad, which was written by Kenneth Osgood and published in
Lawrence, Kansas in 2006. The purpose of this source was to chronicle the secret psychological
warfare programs that the United States developed during the ... Show more content on

The author presented information on propagandist strategies and how, theoretically, to
psychologically affect an audience, but never presented information on the actual effect. Another
limitation of this source was that the chapter titles were not allusive to the content of the chapter,
they were very vague.
The origin of the second source being evaluated is an essay called The Role of the Media during
the Cold War which was written by Alexander Stafford at Queen s University of Belfast and
published on October 16, 2013. The purpose of this source was to explain the role of the media
during the Cold War and how it produced and maintained cultural antagonism. The content of this
source included information on the development, distribution, and importance of political
propaganda. This source was organized in a way where claims were presented, supported by facts,
and then validated. A value of this source is that the content included a lot of information on the
public opinion of the Cold War. This allowed for further expansion within the research question of
this investigation. Another value of this source was that the sources used hold validity, which
further benefits this investigation. A limitation of this source is that the content omitted
information on all forms of media, such as film and print. The author stated these mediums, but did

George Berkeley
George Berkeley sort of follows up on John Locke s philosophy in being immaterial or idealist.
The excerpt seems to me like an attempt in solidifying Locke s notions about ideas existing but
directly questions the existence of matter or substance. I don t feel Locke was being so bold.
According to Berkeley, something exists only if it can be perceived. An entity must be able to
perceive and form notions/ideas about the object in order for said object to exist. Anything that
cannot be perceived does not exist? As I was quickly forming counter arguments to this claim,
Berkeley goes on to say that God, of infinite mind, perceives all objects so even if no other entity is
there to perceive it, the object remains in existence. Talk about a master key. My... Show more

In some ways, I believe our thought functions have evolved sufficiently in the course of the last
few hundred years that allow us to conceive of bodies extended and moved without attributing
sensible qualities. A moving naked singularity somewhere out in the intergalactic medium comes to
mind. It has no sensible qualities that I can ascribe to it. Any primary and secondary qualities
would arise wholly from other material around the singularity. Without material around it, it still
exists to me without qualities (unless he would call my notions of the affect the singularity would
have on incident matter qualities). I still acknowledge its existence and therefore recognize its
potential roles in cause and effect. What would Berkeley s thoughts be on inertial forces in
accelerated reference frames? Specifically, the gravitational force, a force that arises by the mere
presence of substance. True to determine anything quantitative you would need the qualities of the
substance, but even a singularity imposes a gravitational force and a singularity doesn t even have

The fisherman describes his thoughts while he observed the fish. He initially saw the fish as an ugly

external features and the physiological features, Finally, the narrator notices the fish s lip, which

fish has been through. Both the fisherman and the reader can realize that this is a brave fish that
has given up with fighting to survive, which is why the fish did not fight unlike the other times,
when it got caught but was brave enough to fight and and escape the previous fishermen. The
speaker describes the pieces of fish line as medals and as he says, a five haired beard of wisdom

Time Management, Leadership Handbook
Time Management
Before analyzing time management need to know how time is currently being used. Two
questions to ask: First, the amount of time I have? Secondly, how is my time being used? The
first question is easier to answer as most people work eight hours day that may vary times and
locations depending on type of work. The second question can be more challenging to identify
where time is being used. For example, is most of one s time speaking on the phone, answering e
mails, writing reports, or waiting for others to finish their job before starting their task? To assist
with identifying these it is recommended to keep a time log that details where the hours in the
workday are used. Below is a sample of a time log that can be used ... Show more content on

Some common time wasters are: doing a wrong task, underestimating the time it takes to do a task,
not delegating tasks appropriately, delaying/procrastinating, and letting conversations go too long.
Improving Time Management Habits
We know time is very valuable and there is a lot to be done in limited hours. The first exercise
discussed above involved using a time log and identifying how time is currently being used. Once
certain tasks are identified as time wasters, there are three steps one can do to improve his or her
time management: 1. Controlling environment, which includes physical items surrounding as well
as mental environment with things we watch and think about. 2. Using technology when practical
to be more efficient. For example, e mail allows responding to many more people at once than
phone or mailing; however, it can be less personable and have less of a response than other
communication methods. 3. Avoid time stealers, which include time wasters, television, and social
networking websites. While some jobs can benefit from social networking, majority of the time
people find time passing by when utilizing social media.
Finally, managing paperwork is another area where time management habits can be improved.
One tip is to not keep any hard copies of digital documents such as pdf s and e mails. Since these
are readily accessible and backed up in cloud computing, it is unnecessary to keep

Keep in my mind that in Texas only the most vial and cruel criminals are placed on death row, and,
who are the most deserving. The consequences of the Supreme Court s 1972 ruling voided 40 death
penalty statutes, thereby commuting the sentences of 629 death row inmates around the country,
45 from Texas and suspending the death penalty because existing statutes were no longer valid.
However, this ruling went against the U.S. public majority where, in fact, over 55% of U.S. citizens
were in favor of the death penalty. Some states rewrote their death penalty laws to address the
unconstitutionality of giving juries complete discretion in sentencing by setting a mandated capital
punishment for those convicted of capital crimes. The Supreme Court ruled in Woodson v. North
Carolina (1976) this was also unconstitutional. A different approach by some states was to introduce
mitigating and aggravating factors when determining sentencing where, in 1976, the Supreme
Court ultimately approved. The Supreme Court also held that the death penalty itself was once
again constitutional under the Eighth Amendment allowing states a new dawn for a better society.
On January 17, 1977, the suspension of the death penalty officially ended with the execution of
Gary Gilmore in Utah, by firing squad, and that same year the introduction and use of the new

John Stuart Mill Essay
Majorities tend to prevent any opportunity that a minority group might have to gain support for a
contradicting opinion. It is incredibly easy for members of society to abandon their beliefs in the
midst of an overpowering majority. This process leads to an unequal society in which the rights of
the people are restricted. In the essays, On Libertyand On Representative Government, written by
John Stuart Mill, there is a concern for the tyranny of the majority. He expresses his concern in, On
Liberty, by supporting an increase in individual liberties. It is expressed again in, On Representative
Government, by promoting a true democracy. Mill proposes remedies for combating this tyranny of
the majority, and further discusses the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To counter this notion of monarchy by majority, Mill offers remedy through individual liberties in,
On Liberty.
By increasing the individual liberties of men in a society, you increase their personal freedom of
forming individual opinions. The less restricted a person s thoughts, the more unique their
opinions become. `In proportion to the development of his individuality, each person becomes
more valuable to himself and is, therefore, capable of being more valuable to others (On Liberty
60). To constrain someone s thoughts would result in that person becoming more likely to join
the majority. Allowing someone to think for themselves will help acknowledge the voices of all
the classes of a society. Having said that Individuality is the same thing with development and that
it is only the cultivation of individuality which produces, or can produce, well developed human
beings... (On Liberty 61). Despite their fallibilities, an individual is more likely to know what
would make him happy than someone else would. Therefore, if people develop independence of
judgment and take responsibility for their own happiness, utility will be maximized. I regard utility
as the ultimate appeal on all ethical questions; but it must be utility in the largest sense, grounded
on the permanent interests of man as a progressive being (On Liberty 10). Human progress, best

Beriberi In Developing Countries
In the 19th century, an increasing number of Asians were experiencing loss of appetite, weakness,
and edema, among other symptoms, making it difficult to perform daily activities. This disorder,
known as beriberi, appeared after the exclusive use of polished rice as a staple in these countries
(Wooley, 2009). In 1926, thiamin deficiency was discovered to be the cause of this disease
(Dinicolantonio, Niazi, Lavie, O keefe, Ventura, 2013). While beriberi is mostly found in
developing countries where grains are not enriched with thiamin, this deficiency is also associated
with alcoholism, malnutrition, chronic renal failure, diureticuse, and heart failure in the Western

However, loop diuretics can initiate or further exacerbate thiamin deficiency. This relationship was
first described in 1980 when the administration of loop diuretics in rats increased urinary excretion
of thiamin after 4 weeks, suggesting that long term therapy promotes deficiency (Yiu, Itokawa
Kuwai, 1980). The renal excretion of thiamin is directly dependent on urine flow, which is
increased with diuretic medication (Wooley, 2009). Further, thiamin is not protein bound, and is
therefore easily filtered at the site of the glomerulus. A particular diuretic called furosemide
decreases thiamin uptake by cardiac myocytes A particular diuretic called furosemide not only
hyper excretes thiamin, but it also minimizes thiamin s entry into heart cells (Dinicolantonio et al.,

myocardial cells are deprived of thiamin, preventing the decarboxylation reaction necessary in

Nietzsche s Contradictory Concept Of Freedom
The concept of freedom is contradictory in the Genealogy of Morals: for Nietzsche, true freedom
will occur when every individual can live according to their true nature; however, this version of
freedom would allow the strong to easily enslave the weak, negating any possibility of true freedom
for an entire society. Thus, any theory of moralitythat seeks to explain this concept of freedom
must be able to reconcile the contradiction it produces. Gandhi s Hind Swaraj comes close to
being able to resolve Nietzsche s contradictory concept of freedom, but applying Gandhi in this
way highlights his own difficulty situating freedom within his theory of home rule. With close
analysis of passages from Nietzsche s On the Genealogy of Morals and Gandhi s Hind Swaraj, the
reader discovers that, according to how one defines freedom, he or she will perceive an individual
who they believe to be truly free as having achieved moral perfection.

As aforementioned, in Nietzsche s ideal society in which all are free to live according to their
natures, the strong would quickly enslave the weak. Adding Gandhi s path to freedom to
Nietzsche s ideal moral code equation would resolve the complications it produces because of
Gandhi s association with the weak. Gandhi claims that every reform must be preceded by
discontent (23). In order for the weak to commence their journey to becoming passive resisters,
they must first experience unrest. Similarly, Nietzsche believes that slave morality always first
needs a hostile external world (37); and, his ideal moral code produces this hostile environment
that will generate unrest within the weak. However, instead of seeking to change the moral code
as they have done in the past, the weak would begin to walk Gandhi s path to true

My First Day In High School
Today is August 10th, 2065 and it is my first day of Year 6 and I am only 9 years old. I sighed as
I finished speaking for the online journal and I watched the spoken words turn to typed words on
the holographic screen. I closed my eyes and put my head in the palm of my pale hand as I
closed up the journal, unable to think of anything else to write at the moment. After a few more
seconds of just sitting at the desk, I decided I could just finish writing later, so, I decided to get
ready for my final year at the Skill School.
Skill School is the first school all kids are enrolled in. Everyone starts at age 5 and typically leaves
at age 11 to go to one of four secondary schools: Offense, Defense, Agriculture, or Health. Or if you
aren t skilled enough to make it to one of those schools you got placed in the fifth, inferior school,
the Other School. I started school at age 5, just like every other normal kid does. I went through
Years 1, 2, and 3 but last year I got a letter during our break saying I was being bumped to Year 6 at
barely 9 years old.
My heart raced along in time with my thoughts about the day. If I was being honest, I was feeling
rather nervous and..scared I guess, though, scared doesn t really cover exactly how I m feeling. It
s like I m scared and nervous and excited and so many other things and I just couldn t explain it. It
was the strangest I had felt since my actual first day in Year 1.

Drugs And Its Effects On America
Drugs are a major issue in America. They are imported from all around the world, but they are
mostly brought across the Mexican border. Even though they are a major concern, nobody is
doing anything about it. In the year 2015 nearly 47,000 have died from an overdose. Why is this
epidemic of drugs being flown into America being ignored? Is the election between Hilary and
Trump for the presidency a bigger picture than drugs and drug related crime? Will Trump s idea
of building a wall actually help decrease illegal immigration, and decrease the amount of
narcotics brought into the U.S? Drugs coming from Mexico have also been an issue and we
have continuously reduced the amount of drugs from being smuggled into the United states, but
not all of them. Drugs are obviously a big issue in America, even if it is being overlooked. Not
only are the Drugs killing people but the fight over them is also creating crime. People on the
streets have been fighting over drugs for as long as they have been here. They re not only
fighting over the drugs but they re also killing for them. Why do we allow for such damage to
occur in the U.S. when it can be stopped? There is one solution for this drastic issue, legalize the
drugs. If a whole percentage is being controlled and distributed by the government, people will not
fight over them which will lead to lower rates of crime. Alternatively, a good way to lower
overdoses is to put a tax on them. Charge an extra tax, for example cigarettes, tax

Analysis Of Chomsky s The Role Of Media
Noam Chomsky (1997) begins his critique of the role of media in politics with presenting his
readers with the question: What kind of society do we want to live in, and in particular in what
sense of democracy do we want this to be a democratic society? (9) He then poses two
conceptions of democracy: one where the public has the means to participate in the management of
their own affairs and the means of information are open and free; or the second conception where
the public must be barred from managing their affairs and the means of information is kept narrow
and controlled (Chomsky, 1997, 9). Admittedly, this is a strange way to define democracy;
however, Chomsky (1997) urges us to understand that the latter is the prevailing conception that his
been in that way in theory for a long while (10). Throughout the rest of Media Control: The
Spectacular Achievements of PropagandaChomsky examines American propaganda efforts and
discusses how both major political parties use the falsification of history, suppression of
information, and promotion of meaningless discourse to stifle questions about U.S. policy.

Chomsky (1997) uses, what he calls, the first modern government propaganda operation, the Creel

The provider, practice, or institution may falsely claim to have provided a service or used

Lastly, Medicare fraud occurs when the complexity of services are overstated and billed at a

Since the diet pills are about to enter the market, its marketing strategies should be planned
subject to the demands of introduction stages in product life cycle (Day 1981, pp. 60 67).
Based on the patterns of slow sales growth, the producers can make an arrangement to put
awareness building in the first place. Generally this tactic takes the form of free trial products,
discounts or advertisement on the Internet and media to establish its market and raise awareness
among potential customers in the initial development period (Guiltinan 1999, pp. 509 529).
However, concerns like profits shrinkage and potential brand degradation are barriers to have
negative influence on the subsequent development. The drawbacks cannot be denied, but these

term perspective. Besides, gathering some retailers could contribute to break the little buying
deadlock, which is easily operated for HP diet pills as the drinks sold previously have built up a

Who Is Thomas Jefferson A Good President
Thomas Jefferson is one of the most important Presidents involved with the founding of America.
His contributions are described in America s Third President by Sandra Jacobson. He served over
50 years in the New American Union. He held positions such as a Governor and as President.
Everything that Thomas Jefferson did undoubtedly made him the strongest President out of

Thomas Jefferson started his political journey by serving in the Continental Congress in 1775. One
year after, he single handedly drafted the Declaration of Independence, a document that reflects the
values of American government using his philosophical thinking. The Declaration of Independence

No other public servant can match the contributions that Thomas Jefferson made to America.
Abraham Lincoln is viewed as being a great President because of what he did to end slavery. The
ending of slavery was almost inventible at that point anyway. He was a great President but he did
not take part in the founding of America like Thomas Jefferson did. George Washington is viewed
as another great President mainly because he was the first. George Washington did make many
great contributions to America. He lead army s in the Revolutionary war, helped draft the
Constitution, and signed treaty s to call for peace. He also didn t make as many contributions that
made him a stronger President. That s why Thomas Jefferson was the stronger President than

Government Impact On Childhood Cancer
The Impact the Government can have on Childhood Cancer
Childhood cancers make up less than 1% of all cancers diagnosed each year (What Are the Key
statistics for Childhood Cancer). The creation of chemotherapy in the 1940 s showed off the
progress that can be made, slowing down or potentially stopping the production of cancer cell. With
continuous support of many cancer research hospitals and greater funds from the government we
can swiftly abolish childhood cancer forever.
Children with cancer should be entitled to government assistance. Funding childrens research
hospitals will give many children an opportunity to live their life and creates a chance for an
impact on our society. It is in our advantage to treat cancer in children, as their

Mental and Social Disorder Essay
One in every seventeen people in America suffers from a mental disorder. These disorders inhibit
the afflicted person from functioning properly and coping normally with daily life. Many afflicted
with a psychological disorder do not exhibit obvious symptoms, as medical advancements have
made it possible for these disorders to be suppressed or even nonexistent. Today, however, harsh
stigmas exist that unfairly categorize those with a mental illnessas violent, unfriendly, and abnormal.
The media and federal government are culprits in fabricating the unrealistic depictions of mental
disabilitythat define the portrayal of those who are mentally or psychologically disadvantaged.
The media is and has been one of the strongest outlets of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

News broadcasts and reports are equally culpable in their portrayal of mentally challenged
individuals. In the fight to gain an interested audience, reporters sell stories instead of simply telling
them. As a result, mental illness is overemphasized to elicit a stronger reaction from the audience.
A good story catches public attention either by focusing on conflict and controversy or by raising
issues of public safety all perspectives that may place journalists in direct conflict with mental health
advocates. News media, particularly newspapers, are among the most frequently identified sources
of mental health information. This gives them great scope to dispel inaccurate and stigmatizing
stereotypes perpetuated in the entertainment media or to reinforce and amplify them. Results show
that news representations of mental illness [...] are largely inaccurate and negative. Reporters
emphasize the violent, delusional and irrational behavior of people with a mental illness, and often
sensationalise headlines or story content in order to attract attention .
What makes this type of stigmatization so dangerous is that the news is generally accepted as
factually based, when, in reality, a disproportionate amount of broadcasting and newspaper articles
are not; they paint the mentally disabled as overtly violent

The Nsa Had Committed 2776 Violations
Maria Sanchez

October 17, 2014
Final Rough Draft In 2012, people discovered that the NSA had committed 2,776 violations to the
law. The NSA was mainly spying on other countries while those other countries were spying on the
United States. The U.S. government tried to explain why they did those infractions with the excuse
that they were unintentional. The court ruled it as unconstitutional. As of now, the United States
has collected every single piece of data that has been placed on the world wide web and is stored
in a metadata machine. This means that anyone can have access to any piece of private information,
just by looking it up on the internet. The only ways to fix that is by either monetizing all data or
using a wrapper. The option of monetizing would people would surely benefit from this meanwhile,
the corporations and the government would significantly loose their power.
To begin, Jaron
Lanier, author of the article, How Should We Think about Privacy? and computer scientist at
Microsoft Research, states that people should be able to have complete control over their
personal information by monetizing it. This would lead up to being able to make profits out of
his/hers private data by selling it. If the government or a corporation wants to own someones
contact information, they would have to buy it off of the people at whatever price he/she puts on
it because monetizing would allow one to have full power over their own privacy. This is

Lab Report Of Pitot Tube
Introduction:
In most of the world planes, spaceships and helicopters have been tested in wind tunnel. The wind
tunnel is a chamber where the high speed air is passed through. The objective of this experiment is
to determine the velocity profile at a single location within the wind tunnel by using the Pitot tube.
Firstly, make plot of the non dimensional distance Versus non dimensional velocity to compare the
plot with White s Figure 7.5. Then Reynolds number, coefficient of drag, skin friction coefficient,
free stream velocity and boundary layer thickness should to be determined.
The experimental equipment which is used shown in the figure 1 below wind tunnel open end blow
type. Starting from the lift side of the figure position one is the fan. Then position 2 is the
Contraction Cone. The third position is the emergency stop. Four position is the test section. The
fifth position is the digital manometer which is used to calculate the Pitot tube position and the and
pressure difference of Pitot tube. The position 6 is Pitot tube. The last position 7 is the Chamber
Methodology:
The Pitot tube is a right angle tube with open end located in opposite to the fluid flow and its
used to measure the pressure. The Pitot tube is used in the wind tunnel and it has some holes at

Importance Of Religion In Puritan Society
During the Puritan Era of American history, religion was ingrained in every aspects of society.
Literature written in or set in that time shows how religion impacted daily life. Many famous
pieces, including The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God
clearly shows the harsh Calvinist ideals of the PuritanAge. These famous works depict the Puritan
s strict social justices, a gospel based legal system, and an overall societal fear of displeasing an
unseen power in any way. Every text set in this time can be characterized by its substantial theme
of religion and God.
Historians have said that the Puritan laws and restrictions were some of the harshest in all of the
early American colonies. The people back then firmly believed that words of God were law, and
any who deviated from them deserved to be punished. This harsh punishment is a major theme in
The Scarlet Letter. The first pages of the novel depict Hester Prynne s punishment for committing
adultery and having a bastard child. For this crime, Hester is confined in prison, put on display
on the scaffolding, moved into insolation, and for the remainder of her life she is forced to wear,
[o]n the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic
flourishes of gold thread, ... the letter A . (Hawthorne 51) This severe punishment, for what today
is not even considered a crime, was justified to the Puritans because of their unwavering belief in
the rules of the Bible. In the Puritan Era, there was no laws that separated the church and state.
Rather, in tiis time the church was the state. Government officials were elected to implement the
laws of God and this system of humans enforcing of the Bible carried into their judicial system.
The Crucible is centered around the Salem witch trials. People were sent to hang because of the
testimonies of a few young girls. Though there was no evidence other than the girls claims, the
judges firmly believed that those accused of witchcraft were guilty. This hysteria continued for
many months, causing about twenty innocent people to be hanged. The main reason for this
prolonged insanity is the major flaws in the court system. Danforth, one of the

Consumer Marketing and Branding Strategies
Overview
The consumer electronics industry has undergone a major entertainment shift with the advent of the
3 dimension high definition television (3D HDTV). The technology has advanced to the point in
which consumer demand for 3D television has become profitable from a global marketing view. The
Chinese economy appears poised to take advantage of the latest developments in the consumer
electronics industry. The United States is a market in which the demand for the latest consumer
electronic trends is quite strong. How China markets and brands its version of the 3D HDTV will ...

religions practiced because of the entire population s cultural diversity. Nearly the entire population
is literate and educated with a 99% literacy rate.
Identification of Selected Product or Service Trailers or advertisements for movies in 3D are
shown increasingly at movie theaters. No longer are surround sound and high definition
sufficient for sophisticated viewers. With the advent of new technology and new ways to film
shows and movies, television makers are looking at ways to improve the viewing experience.
Enter the 3D HDTV set, which retails anywhere from $1,500 to $8,000 with battery operated 3D
glasses that cost around $200. Such an investment in technology is not for the faint of heart,
manufacturers are banking on real television and movie enthusiasts. International research firm,
Parks Associates, believes that by 2014, 80% of the TVs sold in the United States will be 3D
ready. At the moment content seems to be the biggest issue for HD retailers. Not enough content is
available to viewers, but Parks Associates claim that 48% of households are willing to pay for the
content, provided that they have access to the right types of content, including movies and TV
shows (Interestalert, 2008). ESPN 3D broadcast of the 2010 World Cup brought a tremendous
awareness of the technology and

Aesthetic Judgement And Aesthetic Judgment
Anyone who is familiar with the science of evolution in human beings and its philosophical
context in history and modern society can appropriately associate that idea with variety amongst
individuals. Undeniably, there is a persistent growth in the variety of people who identify in a
myriad of groups. Interestingly enough, if anyone were to take a step back and observe the variety
of individuals around them, he or she would participate in abstract notion of aesthetic judgment or
an analysis of what the individual deems to be beautiful based off of differing factors, though
initially based off of physical attributes. On a psychological level, this aesthetic viewpoint is a
reflection of the relative perspective of people and circumstances in which they consider what is
attractive or repulsive , and apply how it is universally understood beauty attracts while ugliness
repels. Aesthetic judgment can be utilized as a mechanism to enhance survival and reproduction
within a species. Thus, this overall notion of aesthetic judgment can be associated to the emerging
theory of evolutionand everything it encompasses. With this groundbreaking discovery, a variety of
historically great modern thinkers (philosophers) managed to incorporate this scientific theory into
their understanding of the world around them. Ultimately, while their perspectives may vary, these
philosophers fundamentally acknowledge that this evolutionary change is ever present and
influentially active in

According to Merriam Webster, it is: ethics: an area of study that deals with ideas about what is good and bad behavior : a branch of philosophy dealing with what is morally right or wrong (Simple Definition of ethic, n.d., para 1). Whereas it is not illegal to boycott goods from other countries, corporations usually do this for several reasons to include: as a protest against U.S. foreign policy, a potential harm to U.S. relations with that country (due to dubious human rights practices, etc.), an attempt to protect local/national produce, or an issue of quality of life (due to safety of ... Quinceaneras Research Paper Quinceaneras and the Modern Day Fairytale Marked as a celebration of the transition from childhood to womanhood, quinceaneras have been a long standing tradition among Latin American families. Though quinceanera literally means fifteen year old girl, the term has become more closely associated with the celebration itself, oftentimes by non latinx people. Among Latin American families and culture, the celebration is often referred to as fiesta de quince aГ±os (fifteen year party) or simply a quinces. To avoid any confusion, I use quinceanera to refer to the celebration, rather than the individual, for the remainder of this paper. Citizens values and public opinions are conveyed to state leaders through the media and other information channels, both directly and indirectly influencing decisions on foreign policy. Much of the finest work was produced in large workshops or factories by essentially unknown artists, especially in the field of Chinese porcelain. Much of the best work in ceramics, textiles and other techniques was produced over a long period by the various factories or workshops, which as well as being used by the court was distributed internally and abroad on a huge scale to demonstrate the wealth and power of the Emperors. It is believed that English literature originated with verses of an extemporary kind (Albert 9) which were composed and verbally expressed long before the written records. It is also interesting to note that poetry emerged much before the composition of prose as a form of literature in written form. Most of the old English compositions derived their subject or theme from religion and intended to deliver moral lessons. Likewise, oralityand folk oral (literary and cultural) tradition of Barak Valley are indeed extemporary in nature and are mostly in verse form. Anything that cannot be perceived does not exist? However, this ruling went against the U.S. public majority where, in fact, over 55% of U.S. citizens were in favor of the death penalty. Some states rewrote their death penalty laws to address the unconstitutionality of giving juries complete discretion in sentencing by setting a mandated capital punishment for those convicted of capital crimes. The Supreme Court ruled in Woodson v. North Carolina (1976) this was also unconstitutional. A different approach by some states was to introduce mitigating and aggravating factors when determining sentencing where, in 1976, the Supreme Court ultimately approved. Nietzsche s Contradictory Concept Of Freedom The concept of freedom is contradictory in the Genealogy of Morals: for Nietzsche, true freedom will occur when every individual can live according to their true nature; however, this version of freedom would allow the strong to easily enslave the weak, negating any possibility of true freedom for an entire society. Thus, any theory of moralitythat seeks to explain this concept of freedom must be able to reconcile the contradiction it produces. Generally this tactic takes the form of free trial products, discounts or advertisement on the Internet and media to establish its market and raise awareness among potential customers in the initial development period (Guiltinan 1999, pp. 509 529). However, concerns like profits shrinkage and potential brand degradation are barriers to have negative influence on the subsequent development. The drawbacks cannot be denied, but these just represent short term incentives and readily get strict control through a well designed budget plan (Falkner, Devetsikiotis and Lambadaris 2000, pp. 2 13). Besides, gathering some retailers could contribute to break the little buying deadlock, which is easily operated for HP diet pills as the drinks sold previously have built up a loyal customers base. Fundamentally, marketing strategies always focus on the product itself, thus only differentiating the product obviously from the competitors can the new product survives in the intense competition ...
