around Phil Sokolof s experience of having a heart attack. Sokolof single handedly decided to
attack the issue of unhealthy food head on. Sokolof does this through the help of newspapers and
billboards, to promote a healthier lifestyle within the United States. Malcolm Gladwell discusses
during the podcast how McDonald s oil is unhealthy for humans, through the use of pathos.
Gladwell effectively spreads this message throughout the duration of his podcast. The podcast
informs the listeners how unhealthy McDonald s oil was and how the company needed to make a

Throughout Gladwell s podcast, he raised questions regarding the various issues and health
concerns around McDonald s French fries. The first question raised was, what is the correlation

On Friday after class, I went to the ALDI store in Anderson to make a purchase and to get some

environment. Exploring emotions can not only be cathartic, but over time the exploration
through art making can help to reframe these emotions into something that is easier to carry.
In facilitating an art therapy group with adults who are bereaved and grieving, it was
apparent that art making allowed for exploration of both loss orientation an restoration
orientation. For the first session, the theme was around strength and groundedness. The group
began with the question of how do the adults define strength and groundedness in daily life and
closed with the poem Advice from a Tree (Shamir, 2016). The directive was kept fairly simple
and open ended, and the adults were instructed to trace their hand in any way to create a tree

Since 2011, the Freedom House has classified Mexico as a purple, or a not free country in its
annual Freedom of the Press report. The upraise of violence in the country, stemmed from its war
against drugs, has threatened Mexico s freedom of expression and practice of journalism,
undermining the foundations of the country s democracy. During the last 12 years, 82 journalists
have been murdered, 18 have disappeared and there have been 33 attacks on media outlets
according to the National Human Rights Comission.
The legal system in Mexico is so weak and fragmented that those responsible for the attacks on
journalists rarely face consequences. The lack of rule of law aggravates the fear of the brave
journalists that risk their lives daily to report the harsh truths of what really happens in the country.
These journalists deserve and should be protected by their government, but Mexican journalists don
t only have the drug cartel s as their enemies, but corrupt government officials as well.
Members of international institutions like the United Nations and the Inter American Commission
on Human Rights have urged Mexican authorities to do more to ensure that freedom of expression
