Honey Bee Sting Pain Index by Body Location is a self induced experiment by Michael Smith.
He was trying to determine how the location of a sting by a honey bee influenced pain. He also
was curious which locations would be considered the most and least painful. In order to establish
this, Smith used a four point scale in order to quantify the painfulness by location, along with a
reference point. The European honey beesting was used as the stimulus in this experiment.

human population. I believe that the term is thrown around so often that it has almost become
meaningless. In my mind, hard work is throwing yourself into difficult situations and remaining
both dedicated and determined to conquer the task. Although the desired outcome is not always
reached, hard work remains an important value that allows us to show our full potential. I have
been constantly put in tough situations throughout my life and if it were not for my dedication and
hard work, I would not have made it to where I am today.
Being enrolled at the University of Oklahoma is a huge accomplishment. The journey began 14
years ago when I enrolled in kindergarten at Jenks East Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As I grew
older, classwork gradually became harder and the fun activities, such as recess, came to a
screeching halt in the sixth grade. Starting with seventh grade, school just became a daily task that
I had to force myself to get through. However, I began receiving high school credit that year and so

Joslin grew fast. In 1956, Joslin Diabetes Center facility was finished and it was the first facility
that focused on diabetes care. After years of developing, by 2007 it had become the largest

First thing that I chose for my project is, 9/11. This was a dark time for all of America at the
time. 9/11 took place November 11, 2001. It was organized by 19 al Qaeda terrorists. The terrorists

headed for the Pentagon. After learning the actions of the three planes, the fourth crash landed in an

deaths. When the people of America found out the events, millions went to help fight and protect
against anymore attacks. Next I chose the Manhattan Project. The Manhattan project was a project
that brought the world into the nuclear age/era. In the year 1939, we learned that German
physicians had learned the secret to splitting the uranium atom. This was extraordinary. When
Albert Einstein fled to America, he brought information about the German s capability to create a
bomb capable of mass destruction. Einstein was accompanied by Erico Fermi, who escaped fascist
Italy. The two thought they should tell President Roosevelt. They wrote a letter to him urge him to
establish an atomic research project. Roosevelt agreed but didn t want everyone to know about it.
He called it the Manhattan Project. The main facility they built was in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
