Stock Analysis of Wal-Mart Inc.
The Wal Mart company was established on July 2, 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas (History Timeline). The
company was based on the vision of Sam Walton, who believed in giving his customers the lowest
prices, anytime, anywhere. By 1967 the Walton family owned 27 different stores, and in 1969 they
officially incorporated, becoming Wal Mart Stores, Inc. Just a year later in 1970 Wal Mart went
National, proving the wide spread appeal of Sam Walton s beliefs (History). This same year Wal Mart
became a publicly traded company, with its first shares priced at 16.50. A short year later the company
was listed in The New York Stock Exchange (History Timeline). The 80 s were a major success for
this company. In 1983 the first Sams Club opened, this was and still is a store that sells product in bulk
to small businesses and individuals. In 1988 the first Wal Mart Super center opened. The Super center
combined a full scale supermarket with general merchandise to create one stop shopping convenience
(History). In 1992 the company suffered a hard hit when Sam Walton passed away at the age of 74.
Although they lost the man at the heart of the company they were determined to carry on with his
vision, and so they did. In 1996 they opened their first stores in China (History Timeline). By 2002
they reach the top of the Fortune 500 ranking of Americas largest companies. In 2012 Wal Mart
celebrated 50 successful years of business. Today the company employs 2.2 million associates

Differential Diagnosis of Alex Forrest of Fatal Attraction
For my case study my group and I chose the movie Fatal Attraction , and we chose Alex Forrest for
our case study. For my part I chose to do the diagnosis aspect on Alex Forrest. Throughout this paper I
will be diagnosing Alex Forrest. The following key clinical data will be discussed: client
demographics, presenting problem, preliminary diagnostic information, symptoms, client
characteristics and history, diagnostic impressions, potential disorders, and the DSM diagnosis.
Demographics
Alex Forrest is a Caucasian female in her mid thirties. Alex is an editor for a newspaper. She lives
alone in a spacious apartment in New York City. She is single, however she is currently involved with
a married man and reports that she is pregnant with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Client felt that she had to prove she killed his daughter s pet rabbit and she even destroyed his car to
find out where he lived in the country. Dan was still not interested in any advances from the client but
that has not stopped her.
Psychosocial History
Client has a lack of social support network. No information regarding Alex s childhood, adolescence
has been provided. Client mentioned that her father died of a heart attack to Dan but indicated that he
was alive but later on we find out that he actually did die of a heart attack. She never discusses her
family she was more into her lover s family. There is no information regarding family history of
mental illness, or substance abuse disorder. However, due to her reports, it could be hypothesized that
she may have been a victim of sexual abuse or physical abuse at one point in her early life. Borderline
Personality disorder has found to be a contributor to child abuse (Spatz 2009). Having parental
familial substance abuse and other factors were also predictors for Borderline Personality Disorder.
(Spatz 2009) This research is suggested that there was some type of abuse at one point in the client s
early life. From these studies results indicated that more abuses and neglected children met the criteria
for Client s appearance and mental status are as follows upon observation: Client

Analysis Of Jessica Posner s `` And Kennedy Odede s Find...
In Jessica Posner s and Kennedy Odede s Find Me Unafraid, there is a part of Kennedy s narrative that
details the unrest associated with the political election in Kenya. He speaks of how many people
within the Luo and Kikuyu tribes were turning to violence, killing one another, even innocent
children, as a way to show their frustration with the unjust system they were born into. From forced
circumcision to burning down homes with families inside to slashing people with machetes, lives were
being taken in gruesome ways, in the name of justice. Reading about a tragedy, one so similar to what
was seen in Rwanda a decade earlier, led to the question, What was the most influential cause of the
Luo Kikuyu massacres after the 2007 election? . I plan to explore whether the massacres were simply
a result of unhappiness about Mwai Kibaki becoming president or if there were deeper, more
substantial causes of the massacre.
At the start of my research, the main factor in the massacres seemed to be the racial divide. With the
incumbent president Mwai Kibaki being a part of the Kikuyu tribe, a tribe that accounts for nearly
twenty two percent of the Kenyan population (Elkins 2008), and winning the 2007 election, people
could easily cite injustice. Since most political parties in Kenya are drawn along ethnic lines, with
Mutahi Ngunyi, a Kenyan Political Scientist stating that [political parties] are actually ethnic
coalitions with...big political party names (Warner 2008), historians

Can Pro-diversity Television Program Influence a Change in...
American children, on average, spend more time watching television programs than they do engaging
with adults, siblings, or attending school (Feldman, Coats, Spielman, 1996). This finding introduces
the challenge for big networks to use television to positively guide children s social learning while
they are home from school. Studies have shown that even a brief exposure to television can produce
positive effects on learning during childhood (Rice and Woodsmall, 1998), and television
programming can also positively influence pro social behaviors and gender role concepts (Forge
Phemister, 1987, Mares Woodward, 2001, O Bryant Corder Bolz, 1978 and Signorelli, 2001).
Furthermore, many of the existing educational programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of the current study is to explore the reasoning behind failed criteria, and to better
determine how they may need to be adjusted. Although so many children s educational programs
attempt to influence attitudes relating to racial prejudice (Persson Musher Eizenman, 2003), the
amount of research that has been conducted to test the effectiveness of these efforts is extremely
minimal. To date, only two known studies have successfully caused children to demonstrate positive
changes in racial attitude as prompted by television programming. The first, Gorn et al. (1976) found
that their Caucasian preschool aged participants experienced a positive shift in attitudes towards race
after watching Sesame Street. In one condition, participants watched an episode in which White
children played with non White children, and in another condition only children from ethnic minority
groups played together. Most notably, participants who had watched either episode claimed they
would rather play with the non White children, whereas the participants in the control condition, who
viewed an episode with only White children, almost unanimously claimed that they would rather play
with White children (Gorn et al., 1976). In the second study that demonstrated television s ability to
influence children s racial attitudes, Houser (1978) found that children aged 5 9 who viewed anti
prejudice mini episodes (10 15 minutes) recorded less prejudiced responses on

Comparing The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale Essays
Similarities in The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale
The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale from The Canterbury Tales
are very closely related. They both deal with the relationship between a
jealous man, his wife, and a young scholar(s), and they both are immoral
stories that contain sex and violence. This proves that the Miller and the
Reeve are two very corrupt individuals. However, these tales also share
some differences. For instance, the main character in The Reeve s Tale is
a Miller, while the main character in The Miller s Tale is a carpenter
(which was the Reeve s profession), and both tales are different in the way
the Miller and the Reeve are portrayed. Again the differences ... Show more content on

For instance, The Miller s Tale contains several different
occasions of lying and cheating, including the scene where the Miller
cheats Alan and John out of a fair amount of grain, and the scene where
John moves The Miller s wife s baby to confuse the her into sleeping with
him. In comparison, The Reeve s Tale has a similar amount of dishonesty.
For instance, in an elaborate attempt to sleep with the Carpenter s wife,
Nicholas tells the Carpenter, Rain is to is to fall in torrents, such a
scud / It will be twice as bad as Noah s Flood (97). Nicholas, goes on to
tell the Carpenter to build a boat that will carry him and his wife when
the rain comes. However, this narrative is completely fabricated, so he
could visit the Carpenter s wife while the Carpenter is asleep in the boat.
This is a good example of how the two tales share similarities in
conjunction to sexuality and immorality. This similarity also reflect s
upon the tales author, by offering sexuality and immorality as another
corrupt characteristic.
Although, The Miller s Tale and The Reeve s Tale appear to have
similarities, they do share some differences which reveal a lot about the
tale s teller. As an example, both tales contain a wife, a scholar(s), and
either a Carpenter or a Miller. However, when closely examined, the non

Perverse Feminine Masochism
Perverse feminine masochism From the case study of Mary, we propose the notion of perverse
feminine masochism as antinomic with erotic feminine masochism, the latter being based on the
change of desired object. The desire to be penetrated by the father, then by the lover, supports the
investment of penetration as a promised opening. Thus, whereas erotic feminine masochism relies on
the primary erogenous masochism, constitutes a basis of the first narcissistic foundations and
counterinvests moral masochism, for some people, the encounter with the sexual might be
contrastingly traumatizing and reactive pregenital anxieties of intrusion that may be compared with a
revivification of incest (Schaeffer, 2002). Perverse feminine masochism is made

Biography Report On Isaac Newton
PHYSICS REPORT Melissa Kouamo Physics 2425 Dr. Lee Estep Fall 2016 BIOGRAPHY REPORT
ISAAC NEWTON Among all the scientists I have had a chance to learn about, one of the famous is
known as Isaac Newton, born in 1642 and deceased in 1742. Generally recognized as a physicist, he is
proudly known for his work in a lot of domain such as mathematics, optics and motion which are all
parts of physics. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless and barely three years old
when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get remarried and build a second family:
challenging childhood but full of promises. Ten years later his mother Hanna, came back in
Woolsthorpe, his natal town after the dead of her second husband. Despite her long absence, Newton
was still denied of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his complex character. Newton s
childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he verged on emotional collapse,
occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against friend and foe alike. After his mother
returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed
to fulfill. This failure led him back to King s school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to
Trinity College at Cambridge. The bigger challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a
fructuous student life. His life therefore changed when he left Woolsthorpe for Cambridge University.

How Does Living On A River Affect My Life On The Raft
As we drift down the river on our raft my mind begins to wander, I start looking back on all that I
have experienced since my escape from Pap. My thoughts start to focus on the various places we have
stopped on the river. The different rules and people that we find are truly tiring, it makes me feel as
though life on the raft is the only way to go. On the raft I have a sense of freedom, I do not have to be
someone else like I have done many times before. The raft allows me to do things unfathomable on
the shore, being fully naked for example. It was on this very raft where I began to learn more about
not the slave, but the man known as Jim. I remember when I first found Jim staking out on Jackson
Island, the scared look on his face while begging me not to turn him in. I have grown fond of Jim, his
companionship throughout my journey has made me believe that I had made the correct choice. But it
also makes my heart feel heavy thinking back on all that I have done to him, but that is of the past and
I dwell on it no longer. My eyes lock onto him while he is steering the raft, looking off into the ...

Part of me wishes that we won t find a town soon, as life on this wooden contraption has been a joy.
Jim seems to be quite chipper this fine day as well, he has been whistling a tune since the crack of
dawn. The Duke and King seem to be thinking otherwise though, it seems as though they are anxious
from not scamming in a while. It utterly baffles my mind how there can be people who only think of
swindling others. These past few days I ve possibly heard at least 50 different plans to scam others of
their money. A mentionable one they thought of was fetching water from the river and claiming it s
from some fountain of youth . But the one they settled on was getting Jim to perform some A rab

Agile Web Development Works Of The World Breathed A Sigh...
Agile Web Development Works First, and foremost, agile web development is not a specific process,
action, or exercise. it s a mindset an attitude with which a project is delivered. The agile methodology
puts customer first, enabling development teams to work collaboratively and readily respond to
change, and to deliver the best possible product. Being agile means focused on delivering streamlined
projects, not wasting time documenting every meticulous detail of a product. Instead of
documentations, development teams begin working almost immediately on delivering small
incremental products. These incremental products enable customers and design teams to perform
frequent sanity checks, making sure they are not spending an inordinate amount of time (and money)
on features that deliver little to no value. Begin agile, enable teams to deliver the most value; in less
time and with least amount of headaches. Flexibility and Agility meets Web Design Typical web
development process circa 2000 2007. Developers across the world breathed a sigh of relief when
Jesse James Garrett and Steve Krug first introduced us to their usability/user centered design books in
2002. Not because they were new and innovative, but because they articulated the subject so well,
even nontech savvy individuals could digest the material. Using the agile approach, designers, and
developers are able to eliminate up to 80% of the prep work allowing us to pass on that savings to you.

Probable Cause Determination In Criminal Justice
The First Appearance this is the step where someone is brought before the judge and the defendant is
informed of the charges that against him or her, rights advisement, right to have a lawyer or if they can
t afford one , then they have one chosen to represent them, and if possible have the right for bail. This
pretrial activity takes place in a magistrate court. Probable cause determination is when a judicial
officer will look and check police documents and make sure they obtained reasonable evidence that
can be supported in the cause of the arrest. If probable cause is not presented in the court then the
defendant is released. Probable cause determination is a key part in the first appearance.
Preliminary Hearing this is when an information or a formal written accusation to a court by a
prosecutor, alleging that a specified person has committed a specified offense. Witness can be called to

that were presented to them. They are also giving up their rights to remain silent and right to a trial. If
they plead not guilty then they have are saying that they have not broken the law and feel that they can

Cruel And Unusual Punishment
The cruel and unusual punishment provision is that the law must treat all criminals with dignity even
the most despicable ones. Any sentence that is taking lives instead of rehabilitating is cruel and
unusual and infringes the decency of society. The corrections system helps rehabilitate inmates
through individual or group counseling about the cause of incarceration. They train them with suitable
skills programs, such as how to prepare a job application and to interviews, and the importance of
maintaining a steady employment to support family responsibilities. They help the inmates through
educational programs to achieve a higher education while in prison and to succeed economically and
live a healthier lifestyle outside of prison. The corrections system hopes with new skills incorporated;
they will be able to be more productive. Keeping them engaged with medical and psychiatric
treatment will keep them mentally stable for their reentry into the community. James Gilligan (2012),
a Psychiatry Professor at NewYork University, stated that Two thirds of inmates reoffending within
three years with more violent crimes after leaving prison which means incarceration for punishment
does not work positively. Inflicting punishment on convicts for pay back only makes them more
empowered criminals. Rehabilitation is the only key to reducing crimes because a regenerated person
is more conscious of how their behaviors cause their loved ones and others around them to suffer.

It was 5 on a chilly October morning, the sky was still dark, and the silence was peaceful. There was a

Genetically Modified Crops For The Health, The...
On Genetically Modified Crops Nowadays, most people assumed that the genetically modified (GM)
technology is the greatest biotechnologies in agriculture. However, people are unawareness about the
effect of genetically modified GM crops for the health, the environment, the society, the food safety,
and the food security. There are many methods have been proposed to separates the genetically
modified GM crops from non GM crops by using the distance between the crops. However, the value
of cross pollination can be affected in many different factors such as the insects and the air which are
natural elements. Furthermore, to solve these problems, this study suggests a hybrid method
(FPSOSVR) that contains particle swarm optimization, fuzzy logic, and the support vector regression,
for knowing the cross pollination value of pollen recipient from the pollen source to shows the real

3D Art Case Study
1. The 2D manuscript painting on vellum of The Limbourg Brothers from the February calendar was a
beautiful lively artwork. The painting illustrates the frigid winter air by using the white colors of the
snow to cover the landscape. Proportion is used to portray the far distance at which the center village
lies. The individuals in the painting are also larger in size than the animals to give a more realistic
representation. The artist uses lines to create the edges of the farm building built of wood. The top of
the calendar uses a half circle shape in which to illustrate the dates. Emphasis is given to the top of the
calendar that displays the dates using a dark blue and gold color to depict the night sky with
constellations. The 3D sculpture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This 3D sculpture is providing balance with its symmetrical borders that surround Saint Mark.
Emphasis is placed on the center of the sculpture where Saint Mark is situated inside the empty space
off the sculpture. The 2D I found least aesthetically pleasing was the Flemish oil painting of Jan Eyck,
Portrait of Giovanni Arnolfini and Giovanna Genami. Although painted with an astonishing level of
realism, his use of proportion when painting the hands is disproportionally small and seem flattened.
This illustrates how marriage back then did not require the presence of a priest or minister. The 3D
German gothic Pieta made from polychromed wood was a disturbing sculpture. The heads of the
Virgin Mary and Jesus are larger than their bodies. Anatomical details are exaggerated to emphasize
the suffering Jesus endured. Repetition within the sculpture takes form in the flowers of the pedestal in
which the Virgin Mary sits. These flowers contrast with the gruesome blood pouring from the body of
Jesus. Overall this sculpture lacks color and looks like it has a rough texture. These artworks all
correlate to one another because they are within the 15th century

Neuroanatomy Assignment 3 Assignment
Rebecca Luther 12/10/14 Professor Datta Neuroanatomy Assignment #3 Part A The brain is a complex
organ, involving multiple processes and pathways. Laila is able to first guess, and then confirm, that
her friends have ordered pizza through a few different processes. The human nervous system plays an
essential part in receiving and interpreting all outside stimuli. It integrates information from the
outside world with information from inside the body. It initiates appropriate responses to the
environment, and includes all movements and behavioral actions. In the first part of the story, Laila is

The Extrapyramidal tract consists of tracts that descend directly into the spinal chord, and are
important for motor movement. This system is responsible for refining and regulating the motor
commands. This makes the processes of Laila s speech and walking more controlled and smooth. On a
side note from Laila s speech, there are subsystems within the Extrapyramidal tract. The first is the
Tectospinal tract, which is responsible for orienting the head/eye movements to sudden stimuli. This
allows Laila to turn her eyes and walk to her friends in response to the outside stimuli. Vestibulospinal
tract is located in the pons and medulla to the brainstem. It helps to control Laila s balance in order to
walk. The Reticulospinal tract plays an important part in controlling autonomic functions. Rubrospinal
tract is responsible for skeletal muscle control and is important in regulating muscle tone for posture.
The Pyramidal Tract is the second major pathway for motor planning and execution for Laila s speech.
This tract comes from pyramidal cells of the primary motor cortex and controls voluntary movement
of the skeletal muscles. Meaning, this system controls gross motor movement instead of fine motor
movement. This also has three subsystems within. The corticonuclear tract contains fibers of the
pyramidal tract that synapse with cranial nerves (III,

Essay about Babe Ruth
On February 6, 1895, Kate Schamberger Ruth gave birth to her first child. George Herman Ruth, Jr.
was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the first of eight children born to Kate and George Herman
Ruth. Ruth s father worked as a bartender and ultimately opened his own tavern. Many believe that
George was an orphan all his life, but for the first seven years of his life he was with his parents, but
he survived without guidance on the dirty, crowded streets of the Baltimore riverfront.
On June 13, 1902, George Herman Ruth took his seven year old to St. Mary s Industrial School for
Boys. Not only did he place young George in the school, but he also signed over custody of the boy to
the Xaverian Brothers, a Catholic Order of Jesuit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When George Ruth, Jr., appeared with Dunn at the ballpark the other players started cracking jokes,
and one of the players quipped, quot;Well, here s Jack s newest Babe. quot; The rest of the players
also started referring to young George as quot;Babe quot; and the name stuck. Thus began the storied
career of Babe Ruth.
In the mornings, Ruth would go into Landers Coffee Shop in Boston, and it is here that he met Helen
Woodford, a seventeen year old waitress. They married on October 17, 1914 in Ellicott City,
Maryland.
In December of 1919 Babe was sold to the New York Yankees. Prior to Ruth s arrival in New York,
the team had never won a pennant. With quot; The Babe quot; as part of their team they became a
dominant force in major league baseball, winning seven pennants and four World Championships
from 1920 to 1933. In 1921, the couple adopted a baby girl, Dorothy.
On January 11, 1929, at the age of 31, Helen died of suffocation in a fire. Dorothy, who was eight at
the time, was away at boarding school.
Babe met and became seriously interested in a young widow, Claire Hodgson. Claire had come to
New York from Georgia with her young daughter Julia in 1920 and worked as a model and actress. On
April 17, 1929, the two were married in New York. In October 1930, Babe adopted Claire s daughter

Syria Conflict Essay
Introduction
The Syrian Arab Republic is an Arab country in Western Asia, bordering Lebanon and the
Mediterranean Sea to the West, Turkey to the North, Iraq to the East, Jordan to the South, and Israel to
the Southwest. In March 2011, the Syria conflict has begun due to various reasons and is still going on
today. This outbreak is one of the key factors which resulted the Arab Spring (Arab Uprising). Arab
Spring refers to the democratic uprisings that arose independently and spread across the Arab world in
2011. The protest originated in Tunisia in December 2010 and quickly took hold in Egypt, Libya,

The first protest erupted on March 2011 in Deraa after the arrest and torture of some teenagers who
were painted with revolutionary slogans on a school wall. In order to manage the uncontrollable
chaotic situation, minimum military forces were suitably in place to minimise the protest through the
use of checkpoint road blocks. As the protest continued and spread widely over the country the
citizens demanded for the President Bashar Al Assad s resignation. By July 2011 hundreds of thousand

forces to crush the dissent and sending tanks to Deraa in late March 2011. Rockets and mortars were
also used to hit the rebel stronghold (See Appendix 1.1 Homs Feb 2012). After a month of
bombardment, the rebels retreated with an estimate of more than 700 people were killed. People
within the country have to flee to neighboring countries such as Turkey up to several months.

Some of our actions instills a since of pride while others not so much. Nevertheless, everything we
decide to say or do is done because God created in us free will. We all have an ability to decide what
we feel, what we think, and how we act. C.S. Lewis wrote God created things which had free will.
That means creatures which can go wrong or right. Some people think they can imagine a creature
which was free but had no possibility of going wrong, but I can t. If a thing is free to be good it s also
free to be bad. God gave man/women control over his/her own mind, body and soul when he gave us
free will. However, with free will came a matrix of influences that we call human nature. Some
influences seem good and others not so good. Non Christians depend on many of these influences to
help them cope and get through life. As a Christian we depend on a spiritual matrix not human nature
to guide us through this life. The law of God is written on man heart but God s nature is taught and
gifted to us by the righteousness of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit draws us
to Christ. Christ fills us with his righteousness. In this act of salvation through Christ we are able to
overcome our human nature and live as kingdom people in an un godly world.

no pretense. It does all things for God. It is

Lucknow, the land of Nawabs and Kebabs we have heard this phrase about a million times from
people around us . I visited Lucknow last month and seriously there is much more to Lucknow other
than the Kebabs. Lucknow has evolved drastically with time. It is one of the largest and fastest
growing cities in Northern India with a population of 2.81 million people belonging to different
cultures and religions. People from various regions have migrated to this big city with the dream of a
better life. The cuisine of Lucknow is a reflection of this. There is 100% no doubt that there is no
match to the Kababs and Mutton Biryani of Tunday Kababi or the Chai and Samosas of Sharma Tea

are challenging the dominance of various food brands in Lucknow. These food stalls are catering to all

Mchale V Watson Case Summary
1. Summary of Decision
In McHale v Watson, the appellant, Susan McHale, had sued the respondent, Barry Watson, for
negligence for the act of throwing a piece of metal that hit and permanently destroyed vision in one
eye. It was concluded that the most likely scenario was that the projectile glanced off the post and
struck the appellant. The appellant appealed on two grounds: the first, that the trial judge erred in
holding that the standard of care for negligence differed between the respondent at age 12 and that if
he was an adult; and the second, that regardless of the standard of care test applied, his Honour should
have made a finding of negligence on the facts.
The majority dismissed the appeal and agreed with the trial judge in his ... Show more content on

Owen J held the view that the test for the standard of care where an infant defendant was sued for
negligence was that of a reasonable child of the same age, intelligence and experience , extending the
qualifying subjective elements of capacity for a child.
However, Menzies J, in his dissenting judgment, found no issue in differentiating the objective test
used to determine negligence in an act against another, and the subjective test employed in
contributory negligence, in the plaintiff s lack of care for themselves. Furthermore, to allow for the
subjective standard of age would, in his opinion, precipitate the use of other special standards for other
groups of lesser capacity than the ordinary person. He judged that the respondent should have been
held to the standard of a reasonable man. But even if the standard is to that of an ordinary child, he
held it was still negligent to have thrown a dart in such a fashion in the direction of another person.
2. Critical Analysis
McHale v Watson involved the tort of negligence, described by Deane J in Jaensch v Coffey to consist
of a duty of care owed to the plaintiff by the defendant; a breach of care by the defendant through an
act that was contrary to what a reasonable person would do in the circumstances; and an injury that
was caused by the defendant s breach which was reasonably foreseeable in the circumstances. In
particular, the case turned on the question of whether age should be considered in the

Applying fertilizer to your lawn will promote healthy grow. Fertilizer will not only increase the
strength of the grass blades, but also improve the green color of your fescue. Unfortunately, many
homeowners fertilize their lawns in the summer. In these extreme temperatures, the fertilizer will be
too strong, killing the grass and causing brown or empty spots in your lawn.
For the best results, fertilize your fescue grass in early spring or the fall season. After applying the
fertilizer, water your lawn thoroughly to ensure the nutrients set into the grass and underlying soil. To
reduce the weeds in your lawn, use a fertilizer that contains weed killers. This will not only reduce the
risk of weeds and crabgrass, but also reduce the time it will take to apply additional lawn care

(5) Printing The earliest printing in China was the block printing method in the first Century B.C.,
where the individual sheets of paper were pressed against wooden blocks that had text and illustrations
carved into them. This process could print hundreds and even thousands of copies, this technology
played a significant role in promoting the spread of culture. A block carver named Bi Sheng made
movable types with clay during the period from1004 to 1048. This method each type was carved with
one character and the types could be set independently according to contents of different articles. After
printing, the movable types could be reused and this improved technology is called movable type
printing. (LAN, 2008) (6) Row Planting
The Chinese also invented the way to grow crops by placing them in rows sometime in the 6th century
BC. This allowed the crops to grow faster and stronger. This was not instituted in the western world
for another 2200 years. Master Lu wrote in the Spring and Autumn Annals : If the crops are grown in
rows they will mature rapidly because they will not interfere with each other s growth. The horizontal
rows must be well drawn, the vertical rows made with skill, for if the lines are straight the wind will
pass gently through. This text was compiled around 240 BC. (Stevenh, 2009)

Given the competitive dynamics in the commercial aircraft industry, it is not likely that Airbus could
have become a viable competitor without subsidies. These dynamics include investment costs in the
billions for research and development of a new airliner, long break even times, significant experience
curve on the manufacturing side, and the highly volatile demand for aircraft. Due to a lack of market
share, if Airbus entered the market without this support they would have suffered many years of losses

5. Why do you think that the U.S. industry reacted with caution to attempts by politicians to reopen
the trade dispute in 1993?
There are several reasons why the US industry acted with caution. First of all, positive trade
agreements were already in place from the 1992 trade agreement. The industry probably thought it
should wait longer to ensure things worked out on their own before allowing politicians to intervene
and make changes. If politicians had caused things to go south, which they inevitably do, these
agreements would have been jeopardized. Secondly, the industry was practicing risk management. A
lack of caution could have created a mess as the economy was taking a turn for the worse. Lastly,
reopening old wounds could have caused Europe to pull out of many deals with the US, further
disrupting international relations. The US weighed the odds and very quietly backed out, as they
should have.
6. In an era of global competition, what is the case for antitrust authorities to permit the formation of
large domestic firms through mergers and acquisitions?

Syariah prohibits the fixed or floating payment or acceptance of specific interest or fees (known as
Riba or usury) for loans of money. The word Riba means excess, increase or addition, which
according to Syariah terminology, implies any excess compensation without due consideration
(consideration does not include time value of money). However, these principles may have been
applied to historical Islamic economies and in the late 20th century that a number of Islamic banks
were formed to apply these principles to private or semi private commercial institutions within the
Muslim community.
In early Islamic banking, a number of economic concepts and techniques were applied, including bills
of exchange, partnership (mufawada) such as limited partnerships (mudaraba), and forms of capital (al
mal), capital accumulation (nama al mal), cheques, promissory notes, trusts, transactional accounts,
loaning, ledgers and assignments. Organizational enterprises independent from the state also existed in
the medieval Islamic world, while the agency institution was also introduced during that time. Many
of these early capitalist concepts were adopted and further advanced in medieval Europe from the 13th
century onwards.
Besides that, Islamic Banking is growing at a rate of 10 15% per year in this modern era with the signs
of consistent future growth. Islamic banks have more than 300 institutions spread over 51 countries,

Bill Of Rights Of The Individual Citizen
Adrianne Jauregui Homework Assig. #1 12/01/2014 Bill of Rights The protection and civil rights for
the individual citizen is documented as the Bill of Rights. Today, the two most important of are The
English Bill of Rights of 1689 and The United States Bill of Rights of 1791. These two have the many
of the same overlapping principles including, limiting the powers of the government and to providing
people with individual liberties. Although they are both fundamental documents, both countries
differed in form and purpose. The U.S enacted a formal statement of Fundamental rights of the people
of the United States and integrated it into the Constitution as Amendments. It is used to address the
liberties of individual citizens and keep the government from exceeding their boundaries for potential
abuse. In contrast, the English Bill was enacted by the English Parliament, which was a reinstatement
in statutory form of The Declaration of Right. It was to confront issues of relation to the king rather
than parliamentary authority. Essentially, these two formed a new democratic government that
changed everything. In detail, The United States established a collective name for the ten amendments
to the Constitution, the Bill of rights. However, the English adopted an act unlike the U.S. and most
countries that have a constitution. England has no codified constitution meaningm a single document

Acid Fracturing Treatment in an Iranian Carbonated Reservoir
Acid fracturing is a sensitive stimulation technique that has been widely used by the oil industry but is
limited to so many considerations. An acid fracturing treatment must produce a conductive flow
channel long enough to alter the flow pattern in the reservoir from a radial pattern to one that
approaches linear flow. This needs high rate of acid flow completed with formation solution in acid.
Considering the above restrictions imposed by acid fracturing, its applicability is limited to special
cases where no better solution is available especially in Iranian oil fields. In this paper, one of these
special cases is studied occurred in a carbonate reservoir in Iran. This was the first successful acid
fracturing operation in an Iranian reservoir which makes the condition so delicate and unique as there
was so many uncertainties and lack of experience. As we know, hydraulic fracturing has been used
worldwide in damaged formations and formations with low conductivity but performing acid
fracturing has been limited to so many operational and reservoir restriction. The main difference
between acid fracturing and proppant fracturing is the way fracture conductivity is created. In
proppant fracturing, a propping agent is used to prop open the fracture after the treatment is
completed. In acid fracturing, acid is used to etch channels in the rock that comprise the walls of the
fracture. Thus, the rock has to be partially soluble in acid so that channels can be etched in the

What We Can Learn about Stars Using Spectra
What we can Learn about Stars using Spectra The stars have always been a source of wonder because
they are so distant. We have been unable to know much about these celestial bodies for so long;
however, with the use of spectra scientists are able to learn more than you would think. Emission and
absorption spectra have been hiding a vast amount of knowledge, astronomers and physicists are just
now learning how to sift through all of the information that the spectra hold. We have been able to
learn about what kinds of elements specific stars are composed of, how distant the stars are, and the
temperature of the stars. The spectra of stars have revolutionized our knowledge but there were issues
in getting the information that we needed. The earths atmosphere was the biggest issue that was
encountered. As light comes through our atmosphere the wavelengths at the shorter end of the
spectrum like blue and violet are more easily scattered than longer wavelengths like red, orange, and
yellow that are more difficult to scatter. This means that we detect more light that is toward the yellow
end of the spectrum rather than the true colors that were actually emitted. To fix the problem we
would have to remove the atmosphere. That was not an actual option for scientists, so they had to send
telescopes up into space. Once scientists were able to launch the equipment they needed into space
they were able to receive the actual spectral patterns for stars. They gathered data in the form

Assessment Tools For Aged Care
Title: Assessment Tools for Aged Care in Australia
Background:
Australians over 65 are referred to as older people and make up the aged population.
The aged care sector operates under the Aged Care Act 1997 and Aged Care (Transitional Provisions)
Act 1997 that came into effect in July 2014.
As part of National Health reform in 2011, the Council of Australian Governments agreed to transfer
all funding and operational responsibility of aged care support services for people over 65 years to the
Commonwealth Government. (COTA, 2014).
Public expenditure on aged care was $12.5 billion in 2011, increasing to $13.3 billion in 2012 2013.
Additionally, subsidized informal care expenditure was an estimated $1.8 billion (Department of
Social Services, 2013).
Taxpayer funding makes up 93% of aged care expenditure (ARC Centre for Excellent in Population
Ageing Research, 2014).
The number of older Australians is expected to grow more than 4 times in the next 40 years to a
estimated 1.8 million people by 2050 (The Australian Government Treasury, 2010). As a result,
expenditure for aged care is projected to increase by 1% of the total GDP by 2050 (National Seniors
Australia, 2010).

I am today after Tsar Nicholas the second abdicated, giving Russia the chance to start fresh. I was
elated by the news of the abdication of Tsar Nicholas. I strongly believe this is the best thing for
Russia and I would not have had it any other way.
I have been questioning his methods of ruling for years now, ever since he stripped my family of my
beloved brother. I had idolized my brother and was inspired to follow his footsteps in a fight for
change when the Tsar s okhrana brutality took him from me on May the 8th, 1887. I believed the Tsar
Nicholas s ruling methods to be outdated and his use of brutality and ignorance to be the cause of the
minorities depression within this mislead country. The motivation my brother s death brought to me
pushed me to investigate further into politics. Here I found more unjust laws the Tsar stood by and I
decided to work hard enough to make a change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He executed means of giving the people what they needed and encouraging everyone to share. I
looked further into this idea and the idea of revolutionaries as I felt the Tsar was ignorant towards the
population of his own country and deprived us of our every need and felt as though a revolution could
be the solution to this extensive issue. I strive to achieve peace and contentment throughout Russia
and from the start I have believed a revolution to be the way to do

Visual Media: Is Seeing Really Believing?
Visual media is often used to express an idea or thought because it can do so in a more succinct
manner than an essay or article. Through a drawing, painting, or photograph, the artist can convey his
message in the few moments it takes to look at the artwork or read the caption. Despite this seemingly
simple medium, a visual media image still uses the three persuasive strategies, Logos, Ethos, and
Pathos, just as a written work does, and often there is the application of one or more fallacies.
Breaking Home Ties, a painting by Norman Rockwell, depicts a father and son, one with a dreadfully
sullen expression, and one with a keen look of anticipation, as they wait for the train that will take the
son away to college for the first time. The father can be seen slumped over, clutching two hats, his
weather beaten farm hat and his son s dapper fedora, in his work roughened hands. The son, in a suit,
matching tie and socks, and gleaming shoes, sits erect with a look of delight on his face as he waits for
the new destination in his life, State U, as proclaimed by the pennant on his suitcase. The family dog
seems to express the melancholy emotion that the father seems loathe to, by resting her head in the son
s lap. It is as if she knows she is absorbing the last moments together with her master.
According to Totallyhistory.com, Rockwell s art form was a style of its own and perhaps best
described as portraits of Americana, and

Essay On Pmp Certification
Introduction CompTIA Project+ is a globally recognized certification for project managers. It is a
requirement for many companies hiring project managers. The certification gives an employee credit
amongst stakeholders and customers. It also helps in promotions or maybe getting a better paycheck
than someone who does not have the certification. Standing out and shining in a career is important
and CompTIA will do that for you in this field. All this goes for PMP certification too. In fact, Project
+ is a great stepping stone to a PMP certification and so on and so forth for CAPM.
Certification Requirements for CompTIA Project + For a CompTIA Project + certification there is no
real requirement to take it. Anyone can take the certification, but not everyone can pass. Passing the
certification test requires dedication to the study material as well as the want to further ones career in
project management. It is an entry level certification, which will help you acquire the job more than
without the certification. There are no prerequisites or application to proceed in testing for the
certification. It is also one of the shortest test for a project management certification. The test is 100
questions with a 90 minute time limit. With a time limit, studying is a must. The scoring is in between
100 900 with at least a 750 score. This scoring system is this way so when a certification is given,
there is certainty it is given in the utmost confidence.

Is Religion Good Or Harm Essay
Religion is and always has been a central pillar of society, However this does not mean it is a force for
good in the world. Richard Dawkins identifies religion as being viral and harmful, much like a
disease. He is correct as Religion has infected more people than any other thought or disease and has
killed millions of people, oppressed a variety of groups for centuries, and stunted societal growth on
multiple occasions. Some people may disagree and claim that religion brings about many great
qualities in people, which is not incorrect. However it has brought about far more harm than good over
the course of history.
As of 2010, Pew Research estimates there to be 2.2 billion Christians[1] and 1.6 billion Muslims[2].
These 2 groups comprise almost half of the world s population and that is not even considering the
hundreds of other faiths that are still practiced today. Pew also estimates that there are only about 1.1
billion people who are not affiliated with any faith[3], but some of these people still hold basic
religious beliefs and are just not associated with a specific religion. In other words, religion has
managed to infect over 80 percent of the world s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, faith can be a double edged sword as other people may question why their god would
punish them. This can lead to even more guilt as people blame themselves for inciting their god s
wrath leading to whatever happened, for example the death of a family member. Using faith to avoid
difficult questions in life also prevents people from bettering themselves as people and learning to
actually cope with existential issues. Additionally, religion only builds communities within a certain
faith, and it pushes away those in other faiths. There is constant conflict between faiths and this can
lead to splits between people of different

Analysis Of The Essay Planting A Tree By Edward Abbey
The essay I chose to read was Planting a Tree by Edward Abbey. To me, the most interesting part of
this essay is the shift from describing the terrain, to describing the missile bases located in the area.
The way the author describes the military is simply fascinating , The life expectancy of the average
Tucsonan, therefore, is thirty minutes or whatever it takes for an ICBM to shuttle from there to here.
Also, whenever the author describes the great contemporary empires , Like mortally wounded
tyrannosaurs, they thrash out in frenzy, seeking enemies, destroying thousands of innocent lives with
each blind spasm of reaction. The author s use of active verbs and language makes this story develop
in such a way that the story will never fall

  • 2. Stock Analysis of Wal-Mart Inc. The Wal Mart company was established on July 2, 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas (History Timeline). The company was based on the vision of Sam Walton, who believed in giving his customers the lowest prices, anytime, anywhere. By 1967 the Walton family owned 27 different stores, and in 1969 they officially incorporated, becoming Wal Mart Stores, Inc. Just a year later in 1970 Wal Mart went National, proving the wide spread appeal of Sam Walton s beliefs (History). This same year Wal Mart became a publicly traded company, with its first shares priced at 16.50. A short year later the company was listed in The New York Stock Exchange (History Timeline). The 80 s were a major success for this company. In 1983 the first Sams Club opened, this was and still is a store that sells product in bulk to small businesses and individuals. In 1988 the first Wal Mart Super center opened. The Super center combined a full scale supermarket with general merchandise to create one stop shopping convenience (History). In 1992 the company suffered a hard hit when Sam Walton passed away at the age of 74. Although they lost the man at the heart of the company they were determined to carry on with his vision, and so they did. In 1996 they opened their first stores in China (History Timeline). By 2002 they reach the top of the Fortune 500 ranking of Americas largest companies. In 2012 Wal Mart celebrated 50 successful years of business. • 4. Analysis Of Jessica Posner s `` And Kennedy Odede s Find... In Jessica Posner s and Kennedy Odede s Find Me Unafraid, there is a part of Kennedy s narrative that details the unrest associated with the political election in Kenya. He speaks of how many people within the Luo and Kikuyu tribes were turning to violence, killing one another, even innocent children, as a way to show their frustration with the unjust system they were born into. From forced circumcision to burning down homes with families inside to slashing people with machetes, lives were being taken in gruesome ways, in the name of justice. Reading about a tragedy, one so similar to what was seen in Rwanda a decade earlier, led to the question, What was the most influential cause of the Luo Kikuyu massacres after the 2007 election? . I plan to explore whether the massacres were simply a result of unhappiness about Mwai Kibaki becoming president or if there were deeper, more substantial causes of the massacre. At the start of my research, the main factor in the massacres seemed to be the racial divide. With the incumbent president Mwai Kibaki being a part of the Kikuyu tribe, a tribe that accounts for nearly twenty two percent of the Kenyan population (Elkins 2008), and winning the 2007 election, people could easily cite injustice. Since most political parties in Kenya are drawn along ethnic lines, with Mutahi Ngunyi, a Kenyan Political Scientist stating that [political parties] are actually ethnic coalitions with...big political party names (Warner 2008), historians ... American children, on average, spend more time watching television programs than they do engaging with adults, siblings, or attending school (Feldman, Coats, Spielman, 1996). This finding introduces the challenge for big networks to use television to positively guide children s social learning while they are home from school. Studies have shown that even a brief exposure to television can produce positive effects on learning during childhood (Rice and Woodsmall, 1998), and television programming can also positively influence pro social behaviors and gender role concepts (Forge Phemister, 1987, Mares Woodward, 2001, O Bryant Corder Bolz, 1978 and Signorelli, 2001). Furthermore, many of the existing educational programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of the current study is to explore the reasoning behind failed criteria, and to better determine how they may need to be adjusted. Although so many children s educational programs attempt to influence attitudes relating to racial prejudice (Persson Musher Eizenman, 2003), the amount of research that has been conducted to test the effectiveness of these efforts is extremely minimal. To date, only two known studies have successfully caused children to demonstrate positive changes in racial attitude as prompted by television programming. The first, Gorn et al. (1976) found that their Caucasian preschool aged participants experienced a positive shift in attitudes towards race after watching Sesame Street. In one condition, participants watched an episode in which White children played with non White children, and in another condition only children from ethnic minority groups played together. Most notably, participants who had watched either episode claimed they would rather play with the non White children, whereas the participants in the control condition, who viewed an episode with only White children, almost unanimously claimed that they would rather play with White children (Gorn et al., 1976). In the second study that demonstrated television s ability to influence children s racial attitudes, Houser (1978) found that children aged 5 9 who viewed anti prejudice mini episodes (10 15 minutes) recorded less prejudiced responses on ... • 6. Comparing The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale Essays Similarities in The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale The Miller s Tale and The Reve s Tale from The Canterbury Tales are very closely related. They both deal with the relationship between a jealous man, his wife, and a young scholar(s), and they both are immoral stories that contain sex and violence. This proves that the Miller and the Reeve are two very corrupt individuals. However, these tales also share some differences. • 9. Perverse Feminine Masochism Perverse feminine masochism From the case study of Mary, we propose the notion of perverse feminine masochism as antinomic with erotic feminine masochism, the latter being based on the change of desired object. The desire to be penetrated by the father, then by the lover, supports the investment of penetration as a promised opening. Thus, whereas erotic feminine masochism relies on the primary erogenous masochism, constitutes a basis of the first narcissistic foundations and counterinvests moral masochism, for some people, the encounter with the sexual might be contrastingly traumatizing and reactive pregenital anxieties of intrusion that may be compared with a revivification of incest (Schaeffer, 2002). Biography Report On Isaac Newton PHYSICS REPORT Melissa Kouamo Physics 2425 Dr. Lee Estep Fall 2016 BIOGRAPHY REPORT ISAAC NEWTON Among all the scientists I have had a chance to learn about, one of the famous is known as Isaac Newton, born in 1642 and deceased in 1742. Generally recognized as a physicist, he is proudly known for his work in a lot of domain such as mathematics, optics and motion which are all parts of physics. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless and barely three years old when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get remarried and build a second family: challenging childhood but full of promises. Ten years later his mother Hanna, came back in Woolsthorpe, his natal town after the dead of her second husband. Despite her long absence, Newton was still denied of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his complex character. Newton s childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he verged on emotional collapse, occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against friend and foe alike. After his mother returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed to fulfill. This failure led him back to King s school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to Trinity College at Cambridge. The bigger challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a fructuous student life. His life therefore changed when he left Woolsthorpe for Cambridge University. Little is known of Newton ... How Does Living On A River Affect My Life On The Raft As we drift down the river on our raft my mind begins to wander, I start looking back on all that I have experienced since my escape from Pap. My thoughts start to focus on the various places we have stopped on the river. The different rules and people that we find are truly tiring, it makes me feel as though life on the raft is the only way to go. On the raft I have a sense of freedom, I do not have to be someone else like I have done many times before. The raft allows me to do things unfathomable on the shore, being fully naked for example. It was on this very raft where I began to learn more about not the slave, but the man known as Jim. I remember when I first found Jim staking out on Jackson Island, the scared look on his face while begging me not to turn him in. I have grown fond of Jim, his companionship throughout my journey has made me believe that I had made the correct choice. • 13. Agile Web Development Works Of The World Breathed A Sigh... Agile Web Development Works First, and foremost, agile web development is not a specific process, action, or exercise. it s a mindset an attitude with which a project is delivered. The agile methodology puts customer first, enabling development teams to work collaboratively and readily respond to change, and to deliver the best possible product. Being agile means focused on delivering streamlined projects, not wasting time documenting every meticulous detail of a product. Instead of documentations, development teams begin working almost immediately on delivering small incremental products. These incremental products enable customers and design teams to perform frequent sanity checks, making sure they are not spending an inordinate amount of time (and money) on features that deliver little to no value. Begin agile, enable teams to deliver the most value; in less time and with least amount of headaches. Flexibility and Agility meets Web Design Typical web development process circa 2000 2007. Developers across the world breathed a sigh of relief when Jesse James Garrett and Steve Krug first introduced us to their usability/user centered design books in 2002. Not because they were new and innovative, but because they articulated the subject so well, even nontech savvy individuals could digest the material. Using the agile approach, designers, and developers are able to eliminate up to 80% of the prep work allowing us to pass on that savings to you. Modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Any sentence that is taking lives instead of rehabilitating is cruel and unusual and infringes the decency of society. The corrections system helps rehabilitate inmates through individual or group counseling about the cause of incarceration. They train them with suitable skills programs, such as how to prepare a job application and to interviews, and the importance of maintaining a steady employment to support family responsibilities. They help the inmates through educational programs to achieve a higher education while in prison and to succeed economically and live a healthier lifestyle outside of prison. The corrections system hopes with new skills incorporated; they will be able to be more productive. Keeping them engaged with medical and psychiatric treatment will keep them mentally stable for their reentry into the community. James Gilligan (2012), a Psychiatry Professor at NewYork University, stated that Two thirds of inmates reoffending within three years with more violent crimes after leaving prison which means incarceration for punishment does not work positively. The painting illustrates the frigid winter air by using the white colors of the snow to cover the landscape. Proportion is used to portray the far distance at which the center village lies. The individuals in the painting are also larger in size than the animals to give a more realistic representation. The artist uses lines to create the edges of the farm building built of wood. Although painted with an astonishing level of realism, his use of proportion when painting the hands is disproportionally small and seem flattened. This illustrates how marriage back then did not require the presence of a priest or minister. The 3D German gothic Pieta made from polychromed wood was a disturbing sculpture. The heads of the Virgin Mary and Jesus are larger than their bodies. Anatomical details are exaggerated to emphasize the suffering Jesus endured. Repetition within the sculpture takes form in the flowers of the pedestal in which the Virgin Mary sits. These flowers contrast with the gruesome blood pouring from the body of Jesus. • 30. Mchale V Watson Case Summary 1. Summary of Decision In McHale v Watson, the appellant, Susan McHale, had sued the respondent, Barry Watson, for negligence for the act of throwing a piece of metal that hit and permanently destroyed vision in one eye. It was concluded that the most likely scenario was that the projectile glanced off the post and struck the appellant. The appellant appealed on two grounds: the first, that the trial judge erred in holding that the standard of care for negligence differed between the respondent at age 12 and that if he was an adult; and the second, that regardless of the standard of care test applied, his Honour should have made a finding of negligence on the facts. The majority dismissed the appeal and agreed with the trial judge in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Owen J held the view that the test for the standard of care where an infant defendant was sued for negligence was that of a reasonable child of the same age, intelligence and experience , extending the qualifying subjective elements of capacity for a child. However, Menzies J, in his dissenting judgment, found no issue in differentiating the objective test used to determine negligence in an act against another, and the subjective test employed in contributory negligence, in the plaintiff s lack of care for themselves. Furthermore, to allow for the subjective standard of age would, in his opinion, precipitate the use of other special standards for other groups of lesser capacity than the ordinary person. He judged that the respondent should have been held to the standard of a reasonable man. But even if the standard is to that of an ordinary child, he held it was still negligent to have thrown a dart in such a fashion in the direction of another person. 2. Critical Analysis McHale v Watson involved the tort of negligence, described by Deane J in Jaensch v Coffey to consist of a duty of care owed to the plaintiff by the defendant; a breach of care by the defendant through an act that was contrary to what a reasonable person would do in the circumstances; and an injury that was caused by the defendant s breach which was reasonably foreseeable in the circumstances. In particular, the case turned on the question of whether age should be considered in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are several reasons why the US industry acted with caution. First of all, positive trade agreements were already in place from the 1992 trade agreement. The industry probably thought it should wait longer to ensure things worked out on their own before allowing politicians to intervene and make changes. If politicians had caused things to go south, which they inevitably do, these agreements would have been jeopardized. Secondly, the industry was practicing risk management. A lack of caution could have created a mess as the economy was taking a turn for the worse. Lastly, reopening old wounds could have caused Europe to pull out of many deals with the US, further disrupting international relations. The US weighed the odds and very quietly backed out, as they should have. 6. Today, the two most important of are The English Bill of Rights of 1689 and The United States Bill of Rights of 1791. These two have the many of the same overlapping principles including, limiting the powers of the government and to providing people with individual liberties. Although they are both fundamental documents, both countries differed in form and purpose. The U.S enacted a formal statement of Fundamental rights of the people of the United States and integrated it into the Constitution as Amendments. It is used to address the liberties of individual citizens and keep the government from exceeding their boundaries for potential abuse. In contrast, the English Bill was enacted by the English Parliament, which was a reinstatement in statutory form of The Declaration of Right. It was to confront issues of relation to the king rather than parliamentary authority. Essentially, these two formed a new democratic government that changed everything. In detail, The United States established a collective name for the ten amendments to the Constitution, the Bill of rights. • 37. Acid Fracturing Treatment in an Iranian Carbonated Reservoir Acid fracturing is a sensitive stimulation technique that has been widely used by the oil industry but is limited to so many considerations. An acid fracturing treatment must produce a conductive flow channel long enough to alter the flow pattern in the reservoir from a radial pattern to one that approaches linear flow. This needs high rate of acid flow completed with formation solution in acid. Considering the above restrictions imposed by acid fracturing, its applicability is limited to special cases where no better solution is available especially in Iranian oil fields. In this paper, one of these special cases is studied occurred in a carbonate reservoir in Iran. This was the first successful acid fracturing operation in an Iranian reservoir which makes the condition so delicate and unique as there was so many uncertainties and lack of experience. As we know, hydraulic fracturing has been used worldwide in damaged formations and formations with low conductivity but performing acid fracturing has been limited to so many operational and reservoir restriction. The main difference between acid fracturing and proppant fracturing is the way fracture conductivity is created. In proppant fracturing, a propping agent is used to prop open the fracture after the treatment is completed. In acid fracturing, acid is used to etch channels in the rock that comprise the walls of the fracture. Thus, the rock has to be partially soluble in acid so that channels can be etched in the ... • 38. What We Can Learn about Stars Using Spectra What we can Learn about Stars using Spectra The stars have always been a source of wonder because they are so distant. We have been unable to know much about these celestial bodies for so long; however, with the use of spectra scientists are able to learn more than you would think. Emission and absorption spectra have been hiding a vast amount of knowledge, astronomers and physicists are just now learning how to sift through all of the information that the spectra hold. We have been able to learn about what kinds of elements specific stars are composed of, how distant the stars are, and the temperature of the stars. The spectra of stars have revolutionized our knowledge but there were issues in getting the information that we needed. The earths atmosphere was the biggest issue that was encountered. As light comes through our atmosphere the wavelengths at the shorter end of the spectrum like blue and violet are more easily scattered than longer wavelengths like red, orange, and yellow that are more difficult to scatter. This means that we detect more light that is toward the yellow end of the spectrum rather than the true colors that were actually emitted. To fix the problem we would have to remove the atmosphere. That was not an actual option for scientists, so they had to send telescopes up into space. Once scientists were able to launch the equipment they needed into space they were able to receive the actual spectral patterns for stars. They gathered data in the form ... The aged care sector operates under the Aged Care Act 1997 and Aged Care (Transitional Provisions) Act 1997 that came into effect in July 2014. As part of National Health reform in 2011, the Council of Australian Governments agreed to transfer all funding and operational responsibility of aged care support services for people over 65 years to the Commonwealth Government. (COTA, 2014). Public expenditure on aged care was $12.5 billion in 2011, increasing to $13.3 billion in 2012 2013. Additionally, subsidized informal care expenditure was an estimated $1.8 billion (Department of Social Services, 2013). Taxpayer funding makes up 93% of aged care expenditure (ARC Centre for Excellent in Population Ageing Research, 2014). The number of older Australians is expected to grow more than 4 times in the next 40 years to a estimated 1.8 million people by 2050 (The Australian Government Treasury, 2010). • 41. Visual Media Logo Visual Media: Is Seeing Really Believing? Visual media is often used to express an idea or thought because it can do so in a more succinct manner than an essay or article. Through a drawing, painting, or photograph, the artist can convey his message in the few moments it takes to look at the artwork or read the caption. Despite this seemingly simple medium, a visual media image still uses the three persuasive strategies, Logos, Ethos, and Pathos, just as a written work does, and often there is the application of one or more fallacies. Breaking Home Ties, a painting by Norman Rockwell, depicts a father and son, one with a dreadfully sullen expression, and one with a keen look of anticipation, as they wait for the train that will take the son away to college for the first time. The father can be seen slumped over, clutching two hats, his weather beaten farm hat and his son s dapper fedora, in his work roughened hands. The son, in a suit, matching tie and socks, and gleaming shoes, sits erect with a look of delight on his face as he waits for the new destination in his life, State U, as proclaimed by the pennant on his suitcase. The family dog seems to express the melancholy emotion that the father seems loathe to, by resting her head in the son s lap.
