Imagery of Snakes in Macbeth Essay
In the biblical book of Genesis, Eve is tempted by a serpent to commit an ungodly act of eating a
forbidden fruit. As a result of the snake s temptation, Eve eats the fruit, resulting in the presence of
worldwide sin and the downfall of perfection. From this story of Adam and Eve, the figure of the
snakehas become generally associated with temptation, evil, and cynicism. William Shakespeare
employs this symbolic imagery of snakes in Macbeth, to enhance the story of the rise and fall of
Macbeth s power. For poetic and playwright purposes, Shakespeare uses serpentine imagery to
reveal the malevolence of characters, and portray the threatening position of the throne, all while
provoking a heightened emotion of fear and tragedy from the... Show more content on

This struggle of loyalty vs. ambition correlates with Eve s biting of the fruit, which
instantaneously fills her with sin. Eve s ambition was to obtain knowledge of the world, yet in
order to achieve it, she was forced to go against her God. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth s incentive
is power, which in this case would be a seat on the throne. In both cases, evil is a required side
effect to gain their desired qualities. And this evil desire approaches both characters in the form of
a serpent.
Following Lady Macbeth s unsexing , the most descriptive use of serpentine imagery is revealed.
Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan. By doing so, she uses a metaphor of a snake to
portray the Macbeth s future evil actions.
To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye,
Your hand, your tongue: look like th innocent
flower,
But be the serpent under t. (1.5.64 67).
This simile is very similar to the clichГ© snake in the grass, which implies a stealthily treacherous
and surprise action. In this passage, Lady Macbeth explains that in order to succeed, they must act
normal around their guests, and conceal their evil desires. The snake thus represents Macbeth s
hidden ambition, and more literally, Lady Macbeth s plan of action.
However, the serpent, to which Lady Macbeth metaphorically speaks of in act one scene five, is
not only these evil desires of Macbeth. It also represents the threat that Macbeth possesses to
Duncan.

The Brand Of Soap And New Delhi By Recording Signals Using...
Abstract The aim of this research work is to classify the most favored brand of soap in New
Delhi by recording signals using wireless EEG through Neuromarketing. A set of four major
soap brand advertisements i.e. Pears, Lux, Cinthol and Dove are considered for this research.
The advertisement (video) of above these brands are used to stimulate the subjects (9 male and
9 female with age range of 22 30 years) The response of the brain for the stimuli were composed
using a 14 channel wireless headset which has a sampling frequency of about 128 Hz. The
recorded signals are processed using fourth order Butterworth band pass filter. Then feature
extraction is done to extract desired features from the EEG signal. The mean value and then
power of mean value of each soap brand is calculated. The frequency spectrum of above soap
brands is obtained through time frequency analysis using Short Time Fourier Transform
(STFT).The results so obtained are plotted in graphs for final analysis. The present experimental
results are analysed and it is indicated that the subjects are mostly inspired on Dove brand of soap
compared to other brands. Keywords component; formatting; style; styling; insert (key words)

Surviving The Wilderness
Only the strong and smart survive the wilderness. The wilderness has a lot of difficult challenges
and you have to make sure you can survive them before you go in the wilderness. Animals that
survive the wilderness are strong, smart, and know how to protect themselves. Other animals don t
survive when going into the wilderness because they don t have the natural instincts to do so.
The wilderness is hard to adapt to for some dogs because they are used to the human world and not
the wild life. Most dogs aren t used to getting beaten up by other dogs when living the human life
but living the wild life they do. Like in The Call of the Wild Buck got beaten and started to realize

Redemption Essay
The literal definition of the word redemption is the act, process, or an instance of redeeming
(forgiven). When I as a human being think of redemption I think of it as a way to accept, forgive
and move on after an instance of extreme, usually emotional, infliction. When we think of this in
terms of prison, humans are put into isolation where they are given ample time to logically think
of these trespasses and how they are paying for it with their lives. At the same time these people
are doing very manual labor while getting paid very little in order to redeem themselves to
hopefully regain some rank again in society. In life where most of us live outside walls redemption
comes in many different forms, although not all as painful.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When I myself am witness to acts of injustice my first reaction is usually anger, frustration which
is then followed by a very vocal complaint. The same reactions come about when I myself am put
under circumstances of injustice and I can only hope, but am not certain, that this is something
regularly occurs with humans in general. I would have to say that some of the factors that
contribute to the ways that I respond to injustice would be feelings that had occurred as a child
when put into unjust situations as well as knowledge that I was given while growing up in both
educational institutions as well as living in general. While I watched the movie Shawshank
Redemption I witness an idea developed mainly by Stephen King that basically gave me hope
by helping me see that due to what I call karma, the people that are exaggerating unjust behavior
will eventually get what is coming to them. This is displayed well by the showing of all the
ignorant behavior put on by the warden and what happened to him in the end. In our society
taking away a persons freedom is considered justice because at this point these people do not have
a choice. The choices that they have made so far have only gotten them into trouble, now they have
given that up and are subjected to be treated basically like a slave. Solitary confinement is
considered the most severe punishment that we can inflict in our justice system as

The Middle Ages was from the end of the Fifth Century through 1485. After the collapse of the
Roman Empire, the economy was in shambles and many towns were abandoned. After several
centuries of Germanic invasion, new cultures and people emerged, developing into predatory
kingdoms that competed for power. After a while, a great artistic culture flourished under the Anglo
Saxons, producers, epic poems, Beowulf and sophisticated metalwork. The middle Ages was a great

Society:
The middle ages were like a system of hierarchy where different people fit into different levels
and a pyramid based on their family, strength, or gender. At the top of the pyramid was the king.
He was the most important person in medieval society and was protected by his men and knights.
The king ruled over many lands and gave part of his land to Lords.
Next on the pyramid were the Knights. The Knights were warriors who were taught to protect the
king and in return were given land. Only the sons of Lords could become Knights and they had to
start at the young age of seven and at the age of thirteen they would become squires and at twenty
one, they would be fully Knights.
Next were noble men and noble women. Noble women were wives and daughters of noblemen.
Their job was to be housewives and take care of their family.
Bishops were the leaders of the church. They had a lot of authority because the churches played a

Causes Of Generalized Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in
the United States age 18 and older, or 18% of the population. (National Institute of Mental Health).
Anxiety is the Central Nervous System s response to a sense of threat or danger. For those that feel
an anxietyattack or episode, it triggers a Fight or Flight response. When we are in danger, this
response is very helpful to help us get out of the situation. Unfortunately for those with Anxiety, this

Secularization: Historically, Iranian society had strong religious sentiments. So, in Iranian
society, any attempt to change the traditional life style or removal of religious aspects
from public life was opposed by religious establishments. Similar to the nationalization
attempt, Reza Shah tried to incorporate new ideologies and notions over old customs and
traditions. While doing so he also introduced his personality cult.
Another measure to promote secularization, and also depower the clergy was the abolishment of
veiling. By this attempt shah was aiming to enlist woman into the education and labor market.
Westernization: The westernization of the education system was targeted for the higher levels of
education. It had two interrelated aspects. First expanding the modern education system
nationwide and the opening of modern schools. Second was the veneration of west in those new
schools. The westernization of the education system included exporting scientific and technologic
developments of west which consequently brought western cultural values and social structures.
An example of this was the emancipation of women in academia and economic life. They had
been subjected to westernization similar to secularization. Shah managed to incorporate them
into the educational environment.

The Human Spirit In The Moon Is Down By John Steinbeck
Everyone, including some of the greatest and strongest beings known to mankind, has the ability to
overcome and stay strong in the midst of adversity. This strength and backbone of the soul is the
human spirit. The human spirit allows for the ability of overcome and remain strong in the midst
of adversity. In the novel The Moon is Down, the play Antigone and in the poem Invictus, the
human spirit gives the characters the ability to overcome oppression and have strength. Although
each work is set in a different era, the strength of the human spirit remains prevalent. The human
spirit gives individuals the ability to have determination and display strength in the midst of
adversity and oppression; both of which are exemplified throughout the life of every individual. In
the novel The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck, the townspeople demonstrate the power of
human spirit through their active resistance against the invading soldiers. At the beginning of the
novel, the town is invaded by Nazi soldiers, and the townspeople are caught off guard. Despite the
fact that the Nazis believe the townspeople will openly accept them, the townspeople do the
opposite and actively resist their orders. The first act of rebellion against the soldiers, which
inspired many of the other townspeople to also stand in opposition to the invaders, occurs when,

countries use these trading systems during times of conflict?
Salt was transported on waterways and by horses, similar to chariots in war. Roads for trade were
built in Europe and canals were built in America. Blockades put on ports during the Civil war
caused salt shortages.
7. What part did salt play in the following conflicts?
i. The American Revolution: Salt was a provision for soldiers during the conflict. Limited salt in
the colonies and British tariffs on salt trade contributed to tension leading up to the revolution. ii.
The French Revolution: Salt taxes instilled by the Grande Gabelle caused smuggling and revolts.
After the revolution, Brittany s exemption from the gabelle made the salt producing area among
the poorest in France. iii. The American Civil War: Salt was included in rations for both Union and
Confederate soldiers, but more often fulfilled for Union forces. Blockades were ordered on
southern ports causing a salt shortage. Conflicts about maintaining saltworks rose. 8. Why did salt
start to become less important to society in the 19th century? How did this affect the food industry
in both Europe and America?

The Effects Of Haymarket Bombing On American Labor Movement
In his book Death in the Haymarket, James Green recounted the American labor movement in the
late 1800s. The main focus of Green s book was the bombing of Haymarket, which occurred on May
4 in 1886. Beginning as a peaceful protest promoting the eight hour work day, a bomb was thrown
causing devastating consequences. The Haymarket bombing almost ended the labor movement
altogether, with unjustified trials and fear implemented amongst all Americans. However, it is
important to know that the Haymarket bombing is not just an isolated event. From wage cuts to
people going on strike, labor unions starting up, to almost losing the labor movement altogether.
The Haymarket bombing was the fuse to an event larger bomb known as the labor movement.
Although the Haymarket bombing is an extremely important event, it should be seen in a much
larger context rather than an isolated event. The Haymarket bombing was an important incident in
America s history nevertheless, it falls under a much bigger category which is the labor movement.
The labor movement was started because of the unjust ways that labor had on the working class in
America during the 1800s. It first started out with wage cuts for the working class in America,
which then led to an increasing amount of strikes. Then leading to the formation of labor unions,
which is the people who were attending the meeting at Haymarket the day of the bombing. So if the
labor movement had never started, then the bombing at Haymarket may have

Competitive Analysis Essay
UThe competitive analysis is an essential research process to conduct. By examining and
researching it allows me to see what content and features draws new users. It also acts as
inspiration research for ideas to develop during wireframing. The main competitors that would
rival the Snapchat app both have a modern aesthetics and it s clear how to use. Instagram, the
Facebook owned photo sharing app with 600 million monthly users, targeted Snap head on last
August when it launched Instagram Stories, a feature that very closely resembles Snapchat s own
My Story feature. Similar to My Story, Instagram Stories lets people string together several photos

Additionally, users may join common interest user groups organised by workplace, school,
hobbies or other topics, and categorise their friends into lists such as People From Work or
Close Friends . A modern app offers almost the same functionality. The key difference of this app
is the navigation and different colour functionality. However, overall it is well structured and
easy to use. However, with what I have discovered I believe it will out top these apps. Through
using the applications of my competitors and having a clearly look, it allowed me to ensure I
satisfy my users and find out ways to advance the application as stated earlier. On a weekly basis
if there are meetings, this ensures the deadlines are met and if there are any changes it will be
fully discussed on how the overall process is going. Also, through talking to user s who use the
current apps, that I am competing with allows me to have a broader understanding on how to
ensure it is at the top. As well as, working with a properly structured budget points out what
aspects of the business produce money and which ones use it, which forces management to
consider whether it should drop some parts of the business, or expand in others. APP

What Is Ancient Aztec Civilization

Origins in Ancient Civilizations

The Most Interesting
The Aztec civilization was the most interesting thing that I learned about in this class. The Aztecs
evolved from a poor semi nomadic group to the rulers of the most powerful empire ever developed
in ancient Mesoamerica (pg 322). I have always thought how advanced and functional their
society was is incredible. Societies today can learn from their civilizations structure. The capital
city, Tenochtitlan, was founded in the year AD 1325 and had a population that reached up to
300,000 people. The city was build on a grid pattern with a network of canals and bridges. The city
was broke up into four districts each with its own ceremonial center and market. Within the districts
there were around twenty calpulli and each had its own plaza, temple, and market. The sacred
precinct was at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first class consisted of the nobles, the leading priests, and the emperor. The second class
consisted of the ordinary citizens who lived in the calpulli. The third class was made up of the
serfs and the fourth made up of the slaves. Back then there was a division of power and job
specialization. This structure resembles a structure similar to todays. People are elected to be in
top positions that are in charge of people in lower positions. For example back then the emperor
was elected to the position, and now days we elect people into positions like congressman and city
council. Then below that that are business owners, employees, house workers, etc. The ordinary
citizens were required to attend school for agriculture and warfare. I think this is important to note
because back then they were being required to learn what they had to know in order to help society
function at the level it was at. Today students are required to learn up to a standard that is thought
to be enough to function and help contribute to

The Positive Effects Of Stress On College Students
Stress plays a big part on the daily life of every individual. Stress is a natural by product of
adapting and then regaining internal homeostasis. Every individual will react differently to
stressful situations. There are positive ways that one can deal with stress. These positive ways
are called coping, which is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. There
are three different coping strategies, those of which include problem focused strategies, emotion
focused strategies, and avoidant coping strategies, which can help oneself cope with the stress of
everyday life. Stress indicates that change requires an effort to adapt and then an effort to gain
stability (Kato, 2017). In the article written by Flynn and Chow, they conduct research on a rather
large group of college students to see if college really is the most stressful part of life (Hales,
2009). According to Kaisers (1974) terminology the study conducted indicates that the data set is
marvelous for factor analysis.
Stress on College Students Stress plays a huge role on everybody in everyday life. Being a college
student, I did my research article based on students in college and how stressful it is.
Definition of Stress and Coping Stress, as defined by Kato, is the general term describing the
psychological and bodily response to a stimulus that alters one s state of equilibrium. Coping, also
defined by Kato, is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. Emotion
focused strategies change a person s emotional response to the stressor (Kato 2017) Problem
focused strategies focus on taking the stressor head on (Kato, 2017). Avoidant coping involves
simply avoiding the stressor (Kato, 2017).
Research on Stress and Coping In an article written by Deborah M. Flynn, she goes into depth
about self efficacy, self worth and stress. This study is important because the time spent in the
post secondary educational system is one of the most stressful periods of life that has been
reported (Hales, 2009). As stated in her article, there are clear differences in how some students
cope with stress, some students view stress as a challenge and thrive, whereas others have difficulty
coping (Stoliker and

Disadvantages Of Bottled Water
If a person conducting a social experiment were to pass out two label less water bottles, one filled
with tap water and one filled with bottled water, the number of people that cannot tell which bottle
contains tap water might be surprising. The difference between tap and bottled water can vary
depending on brand, location, and other factors, but there will always be those that stand out. Tap
water has many advantages over bottled waterin frequent use. While bottled water might have its
own convenience, tap water costs less, is tested more frequently and publicly, and there is safety in
tap water despite the stigma stating otherwise. Tap water cost less due to not having to spend
money on the plastic needed to create the bottlesof bottled water. The cheapest bottled water found
in the local area could be a pack of twelve for $3.00, meaning the price per bottlewould be around
0.25 Вў; this amount is much greater than the average cost of tap water. Cost per bottle is not the
only cost of bottled water, there are also costs of transportation and production of the bottles
necessary to consider. According to Standage, This year, Americans will spend around $9.8
billion on bottled water (1). The amount spent in America alone on bottled water, if reallocated
elsewhere could provide large changes in places of need. Finance is not the only cost that bottled
water could impact however. The plastic in the bottles is made from petrol made from an oil base.

The Positive Effects of Globalization and Technology on Business
Tz Han Chen
ILSC Toronto
Since 2007s, business has been influenced by globalization and technology deeply, and the huge
scale of global market and convinced network service have been built by it. For example, greater
frequency of building different types of new business models was brought about by advanced
technology and global marketing, and the new product or service which is based on these business
model improve quality level of people s life. Even though globalization and technology result in
secure problem from network and the high stress in competition, the trade opportunities,
outsourcing jobs and competition affect raising the scale of global marketing and increasing the
quality of people s life.
By the time of raising the scale of the global marketing, the high level of marketing competition and
multinational companies occupying the local marking contribute to decreasing the local companies
profit, and high demand in excellent human resources effects the local companies having little
opportunities to transfer their company to multinational companies and high risk to lose their
market. However, the high competition promotes the improvement of advanced technology and
products, and it brings about the new marketing and job of opportunity. For example, artificial
intelligence is one of the greatest invention in the world. In the past, the word of artificial
intelligence only appeared in science fiction and it mean robots have the human behavior (Future of
Life Institute, n.d.), but now it can easily be found in people s life such as Google s search, IBM s
Watson and independent weapon (Future of Life Institute, n.d.). After artificial intelligence was
invented, new companies and an amount of related job were created, and due to similar business
model, these companies promote their competition to raising the scale of marketing and technology.
Thus, the high competition was caused by globalization and technology.
Besides, multinational companies sell their services and products based on the internet and add
their advertising into the social media to attract current and potential customers. After that, it makes

Jewish Mysticism
During the Middle ages, a period of time lasting from the 5th to the 15th century, arose a strong
figurehead and Jewish philosopher by the name Moshe ben Maimon. An expert on Jewish
scripture and Talmud, he took on writing detailed responses to questions raised by Jews on the
topics of Jewish Law and interpretations of the scriptures. Maimonides made it his purpose to make
God and the Jewish faith the basis of knowledge for his Jewish followers understanding and to
provide summaries and interpretations of Rabbinic text, scriptures and the Torah. Despite
Maimonides being an influential figure for Jewish theology, Jewish mysticism has taken a more
dramatic stance on the Torah and its teachings. Jewish mysticism holds strong in the attitude towards

Mirroring mysticism, Maimonides saw God as transcendent, being completely unique as He is
responsible for the existence of the world. Yet where Maimonides differs from mysticism is in his
belief that the only way to know God is to know God s actions, and the only way to know God s
actions is to study physics. The separation between the two theologies stems from metaphysics.
According to Maimonides thought, our religious commandment is to study physics. The purpose of
our existence is to perfect the image of God that we are created in, that is our rational soul, where
our rational soul is life. The merging of philosophy, theology and physics compelled Maimonides to
write the thirteen fundamental principles of the Jewish faith. In these fundamentals highlight the
existence of the Creator in his absolute and unparalleled perfection and eternity as well as how God
communicated to man through prophecy. Prophets were seen to possess intellectual perfection
where the sole difference between a philosopher and prophet was the language transmittable to the
commons. The intellectual difference allowed those fortunate enough to pursue further into the
understanding that the 611 commandments are a program that Moses created in order to create a

Analysis Of Dinner With Friends By Donald Margulies

Donald Margulies caught my attention. I found it so interesting and very well written which
made me want to actually write my director s notebook about. I chose this play because I liked
how it was being told. The way the author wrote this play was very unique. I also liked the play
itself because a lot of these stuff are happening today in the world we live in and so there is a lot
of comparing between the play and reality. I have a lot of ideas on how this play can be

which motivated me to do it. Donald Margulies was born in Brooklyn, New York. He and his

Comparing Beowulf And The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring is a story written by author J. R. R. Tolkien. His story loosely based
around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a much older story
than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share some key details. Furthermore, one could easily
compare the two stories for their epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how
does The Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you watch
the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the
the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). The element is presented
after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The
Fellowship of the Ring). When this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers
and how it has been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to
Bilbo, like youth and health. In fact, outwardly he hasn t aged for sixty years, but he humbly
recognizes there s an underlying darkness to the ring that brings great temptation to the bearer

He leaves everything he owns, including the ring, in his adopted heirs possession. Bilbo s
departure provokes the next epic element, which is a long and dangerous journey. After Bilbo

(Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and
it ends up being a very long journey. Frodo has no idea that this journey will result in him crossing
multiple nations, which is also an epic

Adolescents Are Technology Driven. They Wish To Be In Contact
Adolescents are technology driven. They wish to be in contact with others at all times. This

age, they need eight hours of sleep to be healthy. Problematic networking causes a decrease in

spent online by teens is spent on social media (Woods). It is an issue that more than half the time
students are online they are on social media because if that time was cut down then problematic
social networking would no longer cut into the adolescent s sleep. I have noticed in my own
personal life that being on social media is a compulsion. I have closed an app because I had
gone through everything and my first instinct was to open it back up. I personally went through

One of the modern characters that immortalizes the Byronic herois DC Comics, Batman. From the

Two Face, but he tries to compensate for the void that was created by her loss. He does this by

Bruce Wayne uses his massive wealth and intelligence to build gadgets, utilities, and tools all in

A Day At Merritt Reservoir
Have you ever smelled 4 day old moldy tube socks that have been soaked in lake water and left
under a bed? As a cabin keeper at Merritt Reservoir I had many bizarre encounters in a mere three
month summer break. Imagine walking into the crammed bait shop on a crisp summer morning.
You clock in for the day and gather all the supplies needed to get the job done. These supplies may
range from the typical cleaning utensils such as rags and window cleaner, extra toiletpaper and
towels, Febreeze, and rubber gloves for sticky situations. However, you also must be sure to

will soon learn what these items are for, and how handy they can be throughout the day ahead.
The ongoing task of the day is to heave your massive cleaning cart up and down the slopping old
concrete walkways leading to each cabin. This monster is convenient since it carries all of your
items and you have them handy all at once, but can be a workout on a long day. When cleaning

Rebirth Of Walden Essay
Explain how the rebirth of Walden Pond in the springtime is like a rejuvenation of Thoreau s spirit.
The rebirth of Walden Pond in the springtime is like a rejuvenation of Thoreau s spirit because as
the reader is made aware, the winter season left Thoreau in a depressed, melancholic mood. This
season froze over Walden Pond, and made Thoreau shift his ideals in order to adapt to the weather.
However, since spring returned, and Walden Pondis reborn, Thoreau is reborn as well. He begins
to draw inspiration from nature, and provide his stance on certain religious aspects, as he did in
the earlier chapters of the novel. In addition, Thoreau believes, In a pleasant spring morning all
men s sins are forgiven (Thoreau 155). This could mean that ... Show more content on

This could indicate the reason to why Thoreau is writing about a beneficial topic. His ability to
see past the harsh views he is presented with during the dreary months is brought on by the nicer
weather. Moreover, spring does not only represent a comfortable season, but a state of mind for
Thoreau. He writes, we loiter in winter while it is already spring. In a pleasant spring morning
all men s sins are forgiven (Thoreau 155). This further elaborates on Thoreau s feeling about the
new season. He believes that spring has the ability to forgive and change a person, possibly
allowing them to achieve the immortality Thoreau believes that every man can achieve. He states,
there needs no stronger proof of immortality. All things must live in such a light. O Death, where
was thy sting? O Grave, where was thy victory, then (Thoreau 156). This indicates that no man
sleeps in the grave because the light awakens them, but all man might need to be forgiven of their
sins before entering the light, and spring as the ability to do

time off work, it is often debilitating, distressing and frustrating as ones quality of life suffers.
Most cases are classified as simple back pain where serious underlying pathology is unlikely and

Millie Monologue
The orchestra tunes their instruments as I sit in the back of the auditorium, fiddling with my
Thoroughly Modern Millie playbill. A friend of a friend, Jolie, is sat next to me as we wait for
our mutual friend to join us. Though we sat in silence, it was comfortable. Our friend, Kyra, joins
us as the lights begin to dim. Before we are left in the dark, Kyra throws me a knowing smile as if
she knows exactly how these next two hours will impact the rest of my life. I smile back though and
turn my attention to the stage.
A long haired girl appears onstage with suitcases in hand. We learn to know this girl as Millie.
Within the opening song, she is stripped of the old and becomes modern with her new bob and
flapper dress. And as I watch Millie find herself in the big city and lose herself in song, I feel
myself do the same.

wanting to be able to create the same magic I saw on that stage for my own audiences too.
This story is important to me, to my growth, to who I am as a person because I wouldn t be
where I am today without. Everything changed for me after that one moment. After I saw Millie
walk onto the Mira Costa Stage, that was it for me. That set the stage for the rest of my life. I ve
never been so passionate about something since I began singing. Musical theater is the one thing
in my life that I can t be more grateful in my life for finding me. I ve dedicated all of my ambition

how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates
1.Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence
commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not?
Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be
exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to
that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be
calculated along the trip, because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would
need to purchase the local currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price
at which you can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show

For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the
dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of
American goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export.
On the other hand, European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have
lost competitiveness to the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more
expensive in America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on
world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand can occur for
several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need
its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the country s central bank increases interest rates,
people will want that currency to deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the
interest rate the stronger the currency.
Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were
linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to
gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility
as well as global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold
standard was abandoned. To help combat the Great Depression, faced

Essay On Catheterization
The objective of this paper is to explain the procedure for inserting non tunneled central venous
catheters and possible uses and complications. The technique for central venous catheterization
was first described by Sven Ivar Sledinger in 1952 (Watcher 2000) and is still the standard for
inserting catheters today. There are variations, but the general procedure includes the following:
1. clean the skin with an antiseptic solution and if patient is conscious, give local anesthesia 2.
insert the needle into the desired blood vessel and aspirate to make sure you are in the vein 3.
insert a guidewire through the needle 4. advance the catheter over the guidewire to the
appropriate distance 5. remove the guidewire 6. suture or staple the catheter to the skin and place
a sterile dressing over the insertion site (Jackson 2010) Generally, a chest x ray is done to verify

Other uses are central venous pressure monitoring, hemodialysis, hyperalimentation, vasopressor
administration, (Watcher 2000), total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and chemotherapy administration.
When an ultrasound is used to guide the catheter to the correct place, the instance of
complications goes down dramatically. (Jackson 2010) The femoral CVC is not used as much as
it is prone to infections and has a higher instance of blood clots. (Jackson 2010). The subclavian
CVC is contraindicated in patients with coagulation problems because if there are any issues when
inserting, it is difficult to apply pressure at the insertion site because of the clavicle bone is in the
way. (Jackson 2010) Other contraindications: inserting a needle through an area of infection,
patients with distorted anatomy or landmarks, chest wall deformities, bleeding disorders and
anticoagulation therapy, vasculitis or suspected previous injury to the vessel to be used. (Watcher

Business Ethics And Corporate Morals
Wall Street Journal
Introduction
Business ethics and corporate morals have been evolving over the years, and continue to do so.
These guidelines are constantly molding and vary as businesses become more integrated. Costco
Wholesale Corporation, is a very successful multinational business, but has had issues in following
along with social responsibility trends that come with advancements in domestic and worldwide
partnerships.
Costco was established on September 15, 1983 by James Sinegal, and Jeffrey Brotman. They
opened their first warehouse in Seattle and has since become one among the world s most
successful multinational wholesalers. Costco Wholesale has its subsidiaries operating world wide.

This is seen with their issues in maintaining basic human rights within foreign workers, , Costco
has run into issues with corporate social responsibility, due to their lack of consumer product
auditing, false product provisions and affiliation with human rights neglecting subsidiaries.
The wholesale company values its employees, but as a business, it is important to take care of
your customer base. Sadly in retrospect, Costco managed to cause harm to their consumer and
further damage their name within the western market. Most recently Costco s salad consumers
within the United States have been infected with E. Coli. This recent outbreak spread across 7
states, and according to Business Insider Five people have been hospitalized, and two have
developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure. . Costco was required to receive
assistance and consultation of the Food and Drug Administration due to the lack of proper produce
regulation. Costco has yet to give an official statement on this issue, but have removed all
remaining rotisserie chicken salad from all stores in the US and stopped further production of the
product until further notice for pandemic protection purposes. The contaminated products have
made domestic consumers aware of Costco s lack of care towards not only auditing through their
products but also their lack of knowledge of subsidiary companies who provide such faulty goods.

Malcolm Gladwell The Art Of Failure Analysis
Informal Essay to Malcolm Gladwell s Article The Art of Failure.
9/5/2014 0 Comments What I think about The Art of Failure article by Malcolm Gladwell and
his concept of choking and panicking are totally true. He describes the words choking as a word
where your in a situation of trouble and do something to get out and panicking where your in a
situation of trouble and not do anything at all and panic. I have been in several spots where I
have had to use these two words. I would say though that I am more of a choker and get over my
troubles instead of a panickier accept for one time.

Corresponding author: Abstract Employee engagement is the level of commitment and
involvement a worker has towards their organization and its values. It is a win win approach for
employees and employers and an important factor for employee s positive contribution towards
organizational success. On the other hand, Nongovernmental organizations are growing at a high
rate in Kenya and while research supporting the possible importance of employee engagement is
clear, research about how to create employee engagement is remarkably undeveloped in the
nongovernmental organizations sector. The study sought to explore the influence of employee
training on employee engagement in NGO s operating in Meru County, Kenya. Descriptive
research design and purposive sampling technique was used. The study adopted structured close

Hope Was Here Comparative Theme
As I was reading Hope Was Here, by Joan Bauer, and Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes, by Chris
Crutcher, I started to see some common themes shared by the two books. Each book showed the
values of a strong friendship, the power of strength and determination, and the importance of
helping others. The first theme I noticed from the books is the value of friendship. In Staying
Fat For Sarah Byrnes, if Sarah Byrnes didn t have Eric Calhoune as a friend, she would have never
told anyone the true story about the burns on her face. Having a friend to tell her story to, saved
Sarah from her father. If Eric Calhoune didn t have Sarah Byrnes as a friend, he would not have
stood up for himself when he was getting picked on. He was able to do so because he had learned
how to be tough from his friend Sarah Byrnes. In the book Hope Was Here, if GT Stoop didn t have
Hope and Braverman as friends, he wouldn t have received half of his votes in his campaign for
mayor. GT received more votes because his friends spent a lot of time campaigning for him. If
Hope didn t have GT as a friend, she would not have had the experience of having a father.... Show

determination he wouldn t go the longest in his swim practices. He would give up if he didn t

  • 2. Imagery of Snakes in Macbeth Essay In the biblical book of Genesis, Eve is tempted by a serpent to commit an ungodly act of eating a forbidden fruit. As a result of the snake s temptation, Eve eats the fruit, resulting in the presence of worldwide sin and the downfall of perfection. From this story of Adam and Eve, the figure of the snakehas become generally associated with temptation, evil, and cynicism. William Shakespeare employs this symbolic imagery of snakes in Macbeth, to enhance the story of the rise and fall of Macbeth s power. For poetic and playwright purposes, Shakespeare uses serpentine imagery to reveal the malevolence of characters, and portray the threatening position of the throne, all while provoking a heightened emotion of fear and tragedy from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This struggle of loyalty vs. ambition correlates with Eve s biting of the fruit, which instantaneously fills her with sin. Eve s ambition was to obtain knowledge of the world, yet in order to achieve it, she was forced to go against her God. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth s incentive is power, which in this case would be a seat on the throne. In both cases, evil is a required side effect to gain their desired qualities. And this evil desire approaches both characters in the form of a serpent. Following Lady Macbeth s unsexing , the most descriptive use of serpentine imagery is revealed. Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan. By doing so, she uses a metaphor of a snake to portray the Macbeth s future evil actions. To beguile the time, Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, Your hand, your tongue: look like th innocent flower, But be the serpent under t. (1.5.64 67). This simile is very similar to the clichГ© snake in the grass, which implies a stealthily treacherous and surprise action. In this passage, Lady Macbeth explains that in order to succeed, they must act normal around their guests, and conceal their evil desires. The snake thus represents Macbeth s hidden ambition, and more literally, Lady Macbeth s plan of action. However, the serpent, to which Lady Macbeth metaphorically speaks of in act one scene five, is not only these evil desires of Macbeth. It also represents the threat that Macbeth possesses to Duncan. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Abstract The aim of this research work is to classify the most favored brand of soap in New Delhi by recording signals using wireless EEG through Neuromarketing. A set of four major soap brand advertisements i.e. Pears, Lux, Cinthol and Dove are considered for this research. The advertisement (video) of above these brands are used to stimulate the subjects (9 male and 9 female with age range of 22 30 years) The response of the brain for the stimuli were composed using a 14 channel wireless headset which has a sampling frequency of about 128 Hz. The recorded signals are processed using fourth order Butterworth band pass filter. Then feature extraction is done to extract desired features from the EEG signal. The mean value and then power of mean value of each soap brand is calculated. The frequency spectrum of above soap brands is obtained through time frequency analysis using Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT).The results so obtained are plotted in graphs for final analysis. The present experimental results are analysed and it is indicated that the subjects are mostly inspired on Dove brand of soap compared to other brands. The wilderness has a lot of difficult challenges and you have to make sure you can survive them before you go in the wilderness. Animals that survive the wilderness are strong, smart, and know how to protect themselves. Other animals don t survive when going into the wilderness because they don t have the natural instincts to do so. The wilderness is hard to adapt to for some dogs because they are used to the human world and not the wild life. • 5. Redemption Essay The literal definition of the word redemption is the act, process, or an instance of redeeming (forgiven). When I as a human being think of redemption I think of it as a way to accept, forgive and move on after an instance of extreme, usually emotional, infliction. When we think of this in terms of prison, humans are put into isolation where they are given ample time to logically think of these trespasses and how they are paying for it with their lives. At the same time these people are doing very manual labor while getting paid very little in order to redeem themselves to hopefully regain some rank again in society. In life where most of us live outside walls redemption comes in many different forms, although not all as painful.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I myself am witness to acts of injustice my first reaction is usually anger, frustration which is then followed by a very vocal complaint. The same reactions come about when I myself am put under circumstances of injustice and I can only hope, but am not certain, that this is something regularly occurs with humans in general. I would have to say that some of the factors that contribute to the ways that I respond to injustice would be feelings that had occurred as a child when put into unjust situations as well as knowledge that I was given while growing up in both educational institutions as well as living in general. While I watched the movie Shawshank Redemption I witness an idea developed mainly by Stephen King that basically gave me hope by helping me see that due to what I call karma, the people that are exaggerating unjust behavior will eventually get what is coming to them. This is displayed well by the showing of all the ignorant behavior put on by the warden and what happened to him in the end. In our society taking away a persons freedom is considered justice because at this point these people do not have a choice. The choices that they have made so far have only gotten them into trouble, now they have given that up and are subjected to be treated basically like a slave. Solitary confinement is considered the most severe punishment that we can inflict in our justice system as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The Effects Of Haymarket Bombing On American Labor Movement In his book Death in the Haymarket, James Green recounted the American labor movement in the late 1800s. The main focus of Green s book was the bombing of Haymarket, which occurred on May 4 in 1886. Beginning as a peaceful protest promoting the eight hour work day, a bomb was thrown causing devastating consequences. The Haymarket bombing almost ended the labor movement altogether, with unjustified trials and fear implemented amongst all Americans. However, it is important to know that the Haymarket bombing is not just an isolated event. From wage cuts to people going on strike, labor unions starting up, to almost losing the labor movement altogether. The Haymarket bombing was the fuse to an event larger bomb known as the labor movement. Although the Haymarket bombing is an extremely important event, it should be seen in a much larger context rather than an isolated event. The Haymarket bombing was an important incident in America s history nevertheless, it falls under a much bigger category which is the labor movement. The labor movement was started because of the unjust ways that labor had on the working class in America during the 1800s. It first started out with wage cuts for the working class in America, which then led to an increasing amount of strikes. Then leading to the formation of labor unions, which is the people who were attending the meeting at Haymarket the day of the bombing. • 25. The Positive Effects Of Stress On College Students Stress plays a big part on the daily life of every individual. Stress is a natural by product of adapting and then regaining internal homeostasis. Every individual will react differently to stressful situations. There are positive ways that one can deal with stress. These positive ways are called coping, which is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. There are three different coping strategies, those of which include problem focused strategies, emotion focused strategies, and avoidant coping strategies, which can help oneself cope with the stress of everyday life. Stress indicates that change requires an effort to adapt and then an effort to gain stability (Kato, 2017). In the article written by Flynn and Chow, they conduct research on a rather large group of college students to see if college really is the most stressful part of life (Hales, 2009). According to Kaisers (1974) terminology the study conducted indicates that the data set is marvelous for factor analysis. Stress on College Students Stress plays a huge role on everybody in everyday life. Being a college student, I did my research article based on students in college and how stressful it is. Definition of Stress and Coping Stress, as defined by Kato, is the general term describing the psychological and bodily response to a stimulus that alters one s state of equilibrium. Coping, also defined by Kato, is the multitude of strategies one can use in response to a stressor. Emotion focused strategies change a person s emotional response to the stressor (Kato 2017) Problem focused strategies focus on taking the stressor head on (Kato, 2017). Avoidant coping involves simply avoiding the stressor (Kato, 2017). Research on Stress and Coping In an article written by Deborah M. Flynn, she goes into depth about self efficacy, self worth and stress. This study is important because the time spent in the post secondary educational system is one of the most stressful periods of life that has been reported (Hales, 2009). The difference between tap and bottled water can vary depending on brand, location, and other factors, but there will always be those that stand out. Tap water has many advantages over bottled waterin frequent use. While bottled water might have its own convenience, tap water costs less, is tested more frequently and publicly, and there is safety in tap water despite the stigma stating otherwise. Tap water cost less due to not having to spend money on the plastic needed to create the bottlesof bottled water. As a cabin keeper at Merritt Reservoir I had many bizarre encounters in a mere three month summer break. Imagine walking into the crammed bait shop on a crisp summer morning. You clock in for the day and gather all the supplies needed to get the job done. These supplies may range from the typical cleaning utensils such as rags and window cleaner, extra toiletpaper and towels, Febreeze, and rubber gloves for sticky situations. However, you also must be sure to grab mousetraps, a bible, and a strange device that consists of a hook on a long wooden rod. You will soon learn what these items are for, and how handy they can be throughout the day ahead. The ongoing task of the day is to heave your massive cleaning cart up and down the slopping old concrete walkways leading to each cabin. This monster is convenient since it carries all of your items and you have them handy all at once, but can be a workout on a long day. When cleaning cabins, you do not have a set amount of hours to look forward to finishing. Every day, you are given a set amount of cabins, which can vary depending on how busy the lake is. You must complete that set amount throughout the day, regardless of how fast or slow you work. The first cabin of the day houses a family of 4 who must rarely rough it in the woods. The rebirth of Walden Pond in the springtime is like a rejuvenation of Thoreau s spirit because as the reader is made aware, the winter season left Thoreau in a depressed, melancholic mood. This season froze over Walden Pond, and made Thoreau shift his ideals in order to adapt to the weather. However, since spring returned, and Walden Pondis reborn, Thoreau is reborn as well. He begins to draw inspiration from nature, and provide his stance on certain religious aspects, as he did in the earlier chapters of the novel. In a pleasant spring morning all men s sins are forgiven (Thoreau 155). This further elaborates on Thoreau s feeling about the new season. He believes that spring has the ability to forgive and change a person, possibly allowing them to achieve the immortality Thoreau believes that every man can achieve. He states, there needs no stronger proof of immortality. All things must live in such a light. O Death, where was thy sting? O Grave, where was thy victory, then (Thoreau 156). • 46. how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates 1.Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not? Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be calculated along the trip, because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would need to purchase the local currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price at which you can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of American goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export. On the other hand, European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have lost competitiveness to the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more expensive in America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand can occur for several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the country s central bank increases interest rates, people will want that currency to deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the interest rate the stronger the currency. Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility as well as global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold standard was abandoned.
