The Importance Of Fanatic Discipline In Nursing
As look to the future, I become excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. I was captured by
Collins with these words, We cannot predict the future. But we can create it (p.1). Great by
Choice, then became something of an obsession. I began to dissect and examine myself and my
gifts and talents to determine where my strengths lay, and weaknesses could be improved. I
examined how I could become of better service, exercise humility and leadership more
effectively and how I could share my passions with others. I suggest that if I could accomplish
these goals, I would indeed feel as fulfilled. As I continued my inward journey, I devoured the
subsequent chapters where I felt continued to be reassured. Fanatic Discipline is described by
Collins consistency with regard to values, long term goals, performance standards and
consistency over time. He goes on to remind us that regimentation is not the same as discipline
and to a 10Xer the only discipline is self discipline (p.21). In the medical profession, the best
nurses learn to triage when it comes to patient care. This means, to determine the priority of the
patients treatment based on the severity of condition of each individual. This is especially
important when handling crisis situations and requires fanatic discipline. Lack of monomaniacal
focus in medicine can result in the loss of life. I would suggest that in our day to day professional
and personal lives 10Xers, must be able to triage according to which

The Rot The Heart Of The Brazilian Economy Summary
Since the great depression, our understanding of what makes an economy grow or contract
changed a bit. New macroeconomics concepts became popular, sometimes even taking place of
classic ones. Using those concepts, Christopher Sabatini wrote the article The Rot the Heart of
the Brazilian Economy , published by the Foreign Policy (FP) website on last February. In the
article, Sabatini tries to explain what went wrong with the once very prosperous Brazilian
economy, which in the past years has been diving into a recession that is so deep that many
economists already call it a depression. The purpose of this paper is to explain Keynesian model
and fiscal policy, concepts that I have learned in the macroeconomicsclasses and that helped me to

First, let us remember that when the government sells bonds with bigger yields, everyone will
be interested in taking advantage of that opportunity, not only Americans. In fact, foreigners can
and will buy those American bonds, and they will need American dollars to do so. The sudden
demand for American dollars will make the dollar value spike up, and with an expensive
currency, U.S. products will become more expensive and less attractive to foreigners which will
finally decrease X and AD. This is the open economy effect. Lastly, the government relies in the
fact that the most part of the population are economically ignorant . However, some households
and companies are aware of the economy situation, and will not react as the government expects.
They will actually start saving as soon as they realize that the federal administration is borrowing
money to increase spending; that happens because the government eventually will have to
increase federal taxes to pay that bill. Because C and I play the major role in the AD curve, this
will also compromise the economic goals of the

America s Current Socio Political Events And Values Are...
America s current socio political events and values are reflected through the film industry s
portrayal of superheroes. Annika Hagley writes a very convincing argument regarding this theory
in her article America s need for superheroes has lead to the rise of Donald Trump. Post 9/11, it
has become increasing clear that the issues and values held dear to most Americans are now being
portrayed on the big screen. Fighting back at the enemy and uniting as one are some of the
messages in the background of superherofilms released after the attacks on the twin towers. Today,
the USA is more divided; just like the superheroes that have been on the silver screen in recent
months. In continuation, America s allowances for overly violent superheroes and everything said
superheroes stand for, are simply just reflections of their own socio political views and values. It is
this allowance that has lead to the rise of Donald Trump.
Exacting vigilante justice in the name of the greater good has been the message in a handful of
superhero movies released in the past the few years. Almost eerily, this action has matched with the
United State s agenda, invading the Middle East. In recent years, the focus has shifted from
fighting united, to fighting those who do not share the same political views. The Democratic party
leader Hilary Clinton is running a campaign based on liberal views1. Whilst, her opposition, the
leader of the Republican party, Donald trump is appealing to those who

The Importance Of Enlightenment In Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha
Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha Follows the life of a Hindu son of a Brahmin who sends most of his
life searching for enlightenment. Siddhartha spends much of his young life as a Samana monk, but
does not find enlightenment until after he has entered the world of the child people and
experienced life for himself. Siddhartha at the end of the story tells his childhood friend Govinda
that knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom, and it is wisdom that leads to
enlightenment. Siddhartha realizes early on in the book that the reception of knowledge will not
lead him to enlightenment, although he cannot describe this feeling until he is enlightened. His
rejection of teachers and of the Brahmins and Samanas are all examples of young Siddhartha s
rejection of knowledge. Even though the Brahmins participate in holy sacrifices, meditation
practices, and discussions,Siddartha does not think with is enough to bring him to enlightenment.
He also feels he has learned all he can from his teachers and books, so he joins the Samanas who
seek enlightenment through trying to loose their human form and cutting themselves off from
humanity. He claims that he is leaving the Samanas because he had grown distrustful and tired
against teachings and learning, and that [his] faith in words, which are brought to us by teachers, is
small. (36) He argues that if the Samanas are so wise why have none of them reached
enlightenment themselves. What they are giving to Siddhartha and sharing to each

Mark Twain S The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Is More
Mark Twain s the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is more than just a condemnation of pre civil
war society and its justification of slavery. Twain also uses the novel to challenge the validity of
superstition. The main characters, Huckleberry and Jim, are mere marionettes for Twain to express
his censure through; he mocks them with their own fears and distortion of superstition. Twain s
representation of superstition throughout the book is indicative of his own thoughts towards the
subject.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a sequel to Twain s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
. Set in
nineteenth century rural Missouri, it follows the story of an unlikely pair of runaways, Huck and
Jim, a battered white boy and a slave. Jim, tired of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

years old, he saw a local man murder a cattle rancher, and at 10 he watched a slave die after a

Samuel, the slave s death would invoke his sympathies on the issue of slavery, a subject he was
vehemently against in Huck Finn. Huck treats Jim like an equal and at a time, he looks to Jim
for comfort and guidance when they find his father dead on a fishing boat. Samuel s childhood
town and its proximity to the Missouri river also influenced his writing. His pen name is actually
derived from a boating term and Missouri and its rivers were the primary settings of Huck Finn
and its predecessor, Tom Sawyer. Hannibal, Missouri was far behind in development compared to
other western towns. Its amenities were rudimentary as where its beliefs. The town, like much of
Missouri, still believed in superstition. But not Samuel, he was a well read boy. He rejected the
conventions of the time, slavery and superstition, and used The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to
mock them.

Instagram Is A Negative Impact On The Youth Culture
Demi Lovato stated People say sticks and stones may break your bones, but names can never hurt
you, but that s not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven t
forgotten. Given this point, I believe Instagram is a negative impact on the youth culture because it
created virtual bullyingand a disillusioned self image meaning lowering one s self esteem how
someone s appearance supposed to be. Thus, I believe as a previous instagramer one shouldn t
indulge in the social media world if they re not self confident or aware of their own self.
Bullying begins inside the school because my beginning stages of being bullied began in the 4th
grade. At that time, I attended a private school which was majority whites and I was the only
little black girl in my class, we all knew each other since pre school but as we aged the one s I
had as friends disappeared into their own group of peers, so I was left alone. Since, I felt like I
wasn t fitting in and lost the friends I once had I decided to transfer over to a majority African
American public school in the 6th grade which was actually worse than being alienated at the
private school. My assumption on being around peers who were the same race was a mistake
because although I felt alienated at my other school, once I transferred over in the 5th grade I
literally transferred to a school from hell. Students started to bully me because of how proper I
spoken. For example, They would tease me because of my

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is a semiconductor material II VI studied since the middle of 20the century. Most of
the physical properties of massive ZnO are therefore well known for several decades. The interest
of the researchers then declined, partly because of a major technological lock for the use of ZnO in
optoelectronics, namely the impossibility of doping the p type ZnO.
The ability to grow thin layers and low dimensional hetero structures (quantum wells, nano columns,
etc.) of good crystalline quality recently revitalized the research effort on ZnO, particularly with the
aim of obtaining effective devices for optoelectronics in the blue and near ultraviolet, in
complement gallium nitride. For this purpose, the main advantage of ZnO GaN is a lower cost,
enabled by the relative abundance of zinc over gallium. Zinc oxide powder is also used as an
additive in numerous products, for example plastics, ceramics, paints, pigments, cosmetics, etc.
In material science, another major benefit of zinc oxide is its strong exciton binding energy which
allows to preserve the exciton properties up to Room temperature. The cohesion energy of the
exciton is indeed twice greater in ZnO ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is the growth of quantum wells along non polar axes. These axes, perpendicular to the
axis c, make it possible to overcome the internal electric field. The main axes used in growth are
axes a and m. The first samples quantum wells of ZnO / (Zn, Mg) O non polar plan A were grown
in 2007 on sapphire substrates [Cha07]. The other axis is to reduce the density of defects
crystalline, responsible for non radiative losses. Most of the centers non radiative are crystal
dislocations, which arise from mesh clash inherent to the heteroepitaxy method. Homoepitaxy, and
therefore the use of massive ZnO substrate, theoretically promises a clear improvement in quality
crystalline. A significant improvement was observed only very recently

Abstract Parallel databases are the high performance databases in RDBMS world that can used for
setting up data intensive enterprise data warehouse but they lack scalability whereas, MapReduce
paradigm highly supports scalability, nevertheless cannot perform as good as parallel databases.
Deriving an architectural hybrid model of best of both worlds that can support high performance
and scalability at the same time.
Keywords Data Warehouse; Parallel databases; MapReduce; Scalability
I.INTRODUCTION
Parallel platform data warehouse is the one that built using parallel processing database like
Teradata, IBM Netezza etc. that support Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) architecture for data
read/write operations, unlike non parallel processing databases like Oracle, MySQL and SQL
server that does sequential row wise read/write operations without parallelism from DBMS.
MapReduce paradigm is popularized by Google, Inc.

Medieval Castle Weapons
The castle was an important aspect of warfare from the 10th to 13th centuries. Castles, particularly
in England, played an essential role in warfare because of the power associated with them.
Changes in castle defense are represented by two important types of castles: the motte and bailey
castle and, later, the concentric castles. As a whole, they became more secure and fluid. Stronger
materials were necessary to ensure more powerful weapons could not penetrate the defenses easily.
In addition, more features were integrated into walls and central structures to allow defenders to
have angles to attack without weakening the defenses. This created complexity in battle because of
the increased number of angles available for shooting. The changes that ultimately led to the
concentric castlewere prompted by the rapidly advancing technology used in weapons. The original
defenses were no longer capable of defending against them and therefore had to be fortified further.
The specific structural and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One feature is an artificial or natural mound of earthen materials, called a motte. A motte could
be up to 30 feet tall and was sometimes surrounded by a moat to keep attackers from scaling it
and breaching the main defenses. On top of the motte was a donjon or wooden tower, the
primary area of defense. There was an area on top of the tower to allow for the garrison to shoot
the attackers from a higher angle. Lastly, a bailey was a courtyard surrounded by walls, ideally
circular. Because castles were used for residential and administrative purposes along with warfare,
they had important buildings and people to defend. There were often multiple baileys
encompassing the various buildings, but the outer bailey was the most important. While rather
simple compared to later castles, its structure was sufficient for defending against the weapons at the

Various pollutants generated and deposited in the urban regions are washed off to the receiving
waters during storm events, resulting in receiving water quality degradation. The impacts on
receiving water quality degradation include elevated toxicity, algal blooms and excessive
sedimentation.
Thus, use of stormwater pollution mitigation strategies to improve the quality of receiving waters
has become increasingly important. Water sensitive urban design (WSUD) is the stormwater
management philosophy adopted in Australia. The aims of WSUD are to manage stormwater
quality and quantity to minimise the impacts of urban developments on the surrounding
environment (Lloyd et al., 2002). WSUD concepts are developed to provide technically effective,
more economical and less environmentally damaging solutions for stormwater management.
However, there are barriers in widespread implementation of WSUD. In this regard, the long term
viability of implemented WSUD systems are perceived with high level of importance (Lloyd et al.,
2002). The primary concern is that the treatment systems adopted in WSUD approach are typically
designed considering static climate conditions. Changing climate in future scenarios including
changes to rainfall patterns and characteristics of dry periods can reduce the effectiveness of such
WSUD systems (Beecham et al., 2012).
Climate change would have a significant impact on the future functionality of WSUD. Researchers
commonly agree that

Waiting Between The Trees Wen-Ying Quotes
This quote comes from the story of Ying ying St. Clair s Waiting Between the Trees. Seeing her
daughter Lena in a stressful, and obviously troubled marriage, Ying ying hates her daughter s
stubborn refusal to learn from her the Chinese ways of thinking, which Ying ying sees as wiser
than the American way. Yet, she also acknowledges how her own passivity has led to her daughter

the only way to save her daughter is to tell the story of how when she gave into fate and other
people s wills, it led to discontent and even agony.
The imagery here creates a very strong effect and can be felt throughout the remainder of the novel.

Love and Marriage in Pride and Prejudice Essays
How does Jane Austen present love and marriage in Pride and
Prejudice?
Jane Austen presents love and marriage in many ways in the novel
Pride and Prejudice. In this essay I am going to discuss some of these marriages, not only from
Jane Austen s portrayl of her characters but also from my own point of view.
Jane Austen opens Pride and Prejudice with a statement:
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must want
be in want of a wife.
By using this statement as her opening line she makes it very clear that she is humoured by the
idea that every young an who has a large sum of money are eagerly looking for a wife. The main
part of her book is based on matrimony. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Mr Bennet speaks to his beloved daughter Lizzie, he feelingly says to her,
My dear child, let me not have the grief of seeing you unable to respect your partner in life. You
know not what you are about.
This happens when Mr Darcy has just proposed to Elizabeth. When I question why Mr and Mrs
Bennet s marriage is so unsuccessful, I am faced with three points that I think contribute to their
marital problem. Between Mr and Mrs Bennet there is no intellectual equality. Mr
Bennet is clever, but on the other hand his wife isn t, in fact Mrs
Bennet is a fool! She does not understand her husband in the slightest manner, and so Mr Bennet
frequently takes this opportunity to make a quick comment that will offend Mrs Bennet. Jane
Austen says, The experience of three and twenty years had been insufficient to make his wife
understand his temper.
These twenty three years of his unhappy marriage had brought Mrs
Bennet s characteristics out in a true light. She was a woman of mean understanding, very little
information and an uncertain temper. She fancied herself nervous whenever she felt discontented.
The business of her life was to get her daughters married, it seemed that was all the poor woman
ever went on a bout and it infuriated Mr Bennet greatly. The second point is that Mr Bennet never
showed any respect for his wife and almost seemed to enjoy ridiculing her in front of her

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Literary Analysis
Author Information: Maya Angelou, both the writer and protagonist of I Know Why the Caged
Bird Sings, spent the majority of her childhood in Stamps, Arkansas in the wake of her parent s
divorce at the age of three. She, along with her older brother, lived with their grandmother
(Annie Henderson), whom they call Momma, at the only black store in the segregated town of
Stamps. Annie later became a big influence in her life and helped her develop self confidence
and pride. Growing up, Maya had to deal with her insecurities over her looks and the rejection
and abandonment of her biological parents. Southern racism is also a concern and appears
throughout her life in the form of humiliation and lynch mobs. From Momma s store, Maya
watches the pitiful cotton pickers as they travel to and from work every day. At the age of eight,
Maya s father (Annie s son) unexpectedly shows up to take her and her brother Bailey to live with

Similarities Between The Wanderer And The Dream Of The Rood
Comitatus in The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood
are two Old English poems that demonstrate the link between lord and thane. This bond, also
known as the comitatus, is highlighted with imagery to effectively portray the physical intimacy
involved. The idea that everything is fleeting is emphasized to show the significance of the
comitatus. Furthermore, the beauty of the relationship is shown by contrasting the shame that the
Wandererfeels at the end of the poem to the honour and glory that is thrown upon the crossafter it
willingly suffers along with Christ. In all, the ideals of the comitatus during the Medieval Times
are clearly advocated through the illustration of the physical intimacy, shame and honour
involved in the two poems. To start off, the two poems of interest both share the central idea that
everything in life is fleeting. The Wanderer is a lament on the lost ways of life. The Wanderer
thinks back to the times he was free from exile. He nostalgically compares his life then to the one
he has now and comes to realize how quickly the time has gone by. From lines 73 to 77, it says
The wise man must realize how ghastly it will be when all the wealth of this world stands waste,
as now here and there throughout this middle earth walls stand blasted by the wind, beaten by
frost, the buildings crumpling. There is a lack of hope in this passage. The idea that things that

During the last 15 years, choice has become an important ingredient of consumer purchasing
decisions. Within this timeframe, the number of automobile models has increased from 140 to
260; the selection of soft drinks from 20 to 90. Today, the U.S. market alone offers consumers
3,000 brands of beer, 50 brands of bottled water, and 340 kinds of breakfast cereals. Retailers
today not only want more collections per season but also more styles within the season. Various
companies deliver new lines of clothes to their stores every four to six weeks. H M and Zara, for
example, have achieved this by speeding up the design cycle with computer technology. Zara
uses data from its 426 stores to spot new trends, and offers 10,000 new products a year. TopShop
sells as many as 30 pairs of knickers a minute, 6,000 pairs of jeans a day and 35,000 pairs of
shoes every week. The shelf life of a garment has fallen from six months to a few weeks. This new
consumer oriented marketplace is forcing manufacturers to change from a plan and push product
chain mentality to a demand driven, sense and respond value chain. If we look at the evolution of
the mass customization, the history takes us many years back. In fact our civilization started with
mass customization in the preindustrialization era, moved to mass production and again today we

Shakespeare s The Taming Of The Farew And The Taming Of...
ENGLISH
The Taming of the Shrew , is one of William Shakespeare s most celebrated works in history and
is known to be one of his most comedic pieces of literature. With its lighthearted sense of a late
1500 s Elizabethan era work, the famous play showed many relevant ideologies of society
according to its particular era in history. Many of Shakespeare s works have been adapted into
successful films that were made to suit the society of a new and different age, for example, his
piece The Taming of the Shrew , has been formed into several films and short films. In my
opinion, it just shows that Shakespeare s writings are still relevant today and forever will be
timeless.
The most famous remakes of the of the 1500 s play, were Gil Junger s 1999 adaptation 10 Things I
Hate About You, and Franco Zeffirelli s 1967 version of The Taming of the Shrew . Both films
show elements of similar society ideologies, such as masculinity and femininity which are
portrayed through the main characters; Katherine, Kat, Petruchio and Patrick. Some characters
show signs of severe misogynistic characteristics, for example, as the dominant Petruchio tames
the dominant Katherine until she is submissive. To help corroborate with this is the quote For I
am be born to tame you Kate, And bring you from a wild Kate to a Kate. Conformable as other
household Kates. This quote proves that he believes Katherine should be like other females and that
he wants to control her until she composes to his

John Milton s Paradise Lost
John Milton s famous poem Paradise Lost has influenced society throughout the ages on a number
of topics ranging from the fall of Satan to the marriage roles that Adam and Eve teach us. One idea
stands alone though more so than that of any other topic that Milton writes about and that is the
idea of a Satanic Trinity. The Satanic Trinity shows how the evil of Hell spread to Earth and how it
tempts us in our everyday life. Milton writes about the Satanic Trinity because he believes that one
must understand the evil that comes out of the Satanic Trinity before one can fully appreciate and
embrace the good that comes out of the Holy Trinity. John Miltonis considered one of the greatest
English poets of all time. Milton s career as a writer of prose and poetry spans three distinct eras:
Stuart England; the Civil War (1642 1648) and Interregnum, including the Commonwealth (1649
1653) and Protectorate (1654 1660); and the Restoration (Albert C. Labriola par .1). Milton was
born at 6:30 in the morning on 9 December 1608. His parents were John Milton, Sr., and Sara
Jeffrey Milton, and the place of birth was the family home, marked with the sign of the spread
eagle, on Bread Street, London (Labriola par .6). Milton was one three children the other children
of John and Sara who survived infancy included Anne, their oldest child, and Christopher, seven

Motifs In William Shakespeare s Othello
On November first, 1604, The Moor of Venice was performed for the first time in the Banqueting
House at Whitehall by William Shakespeare and his group of performers, The King s Men.
Centuries later, Othello by William Shakespeare remains one of Bard s most prominent literary
masterpieces. The use of literary devices such as motifs in the play has led Othelloto become one of
the most popular pieces of literature to this day. While some may think of these motifs simply as
recurring ideas Shakespeare placed throughout the plot to help develop the themes of the play, the
motifs in Othello help the reader gain a deeper understanding of the characters in the play. The first

In Othello, characters often refer to animals when describing other characters or themselves.
The motif of animals is primarily used in the play so that characters can emphasis their emotions
about someone or something. One character who exemplifies the motif of animals often is Iago.
Iago frequently describes others as Othello to make sure the reader is aware of his hatred for
someone. At the beginning of the play, Iago is talking to Brabantio, and describes Othello as an,
Old black ram (1.1.97). By deciding to refer to Othello as an animal, Iago reveals his utmost
hatred for Othello early on in the play. Iago s dialogue gives the reader a better understanding of
him because it tells the reader that Iago carefully chooses his words to achieve his desires. By
doing so, Iago displays the fact that he enjoys manipulating others through words, giving the reader
some insight into what Iago s true motives are. Another character that the reader can gain a better
understanding of through the motif of animals is Othello. Being a black, African man in a mostly
white, European culture, Othello is already an outsider, explaining why he is frequently described
as an animal. Although Othello is not affected by his differences at the beginning, they start to have
more of an impact on him near the end of the play, with him even going to the extreme by
describing himself

Existentialism Is a Humanism
CONTEXT Sartre is trying to defend existentialism against some disapproval to it. The Communist
criticized existentialism as an invitation to people to take interest in hopeless world affairs. On the

Peace-Weavers In Beowulf
TITLE
Freothuwebbe (frГГћwebbe) is an Anglo Saxon word that translates as a peace weaver, woman
(Bosworth 336). Peace weavers are trafficked, in a sense, as they are women who symbolize a gift
transaction, an exchange between nations that is meant to forge unions and prevent hostilities. In
the best of situations these women became diplomats of sorts, active participants in marital
arrangements and advisors to their husbands, performing in political negotiations. On the other
hand, peace weavers can be construed as literal objects of male exchange in a society that valued
warfare. Critical interpretations of the role of peace weaver involve the sentiment that many women

In some ways her role as an aristocrat and gracious hostess seems to connote a sense that her figure
is purely decorative. Surrounded by masculine language and actions, her feminine elegance
certainly stands out. In her critical study of women in Old English literature, Helen Damico (who
bases her studies primarily on similarities between Icelandic and Anglo Saxon portrayals of
women) highlights her belief that Wealtheow embodies an Anglo Saxon femininity that brings a
sense of aristocratic beauty to a place otherwise lacking it. Yet she goes on to speculate that
Wealtheow is not merely a helpless character rather, she highlights the fact that what may seem a
merely decorative aspect of the peace weaver is imbued with a sense of foreboding, of the threat of
violence that underlays even the most innocuous seeming celebration. In her foundational study
Language, Sign and Gender in Beowulf, Gillian Overing focuses on female signification into Anglo
Saxon culture. She states that since Anglo Saxon culture is war and death oriented, women are not
a natural fixture of the heroic system thus, none of the peace weavers in Beowulf are successful at
the task. She asserts that the women who function as peace weavers are either silent, are not given
acknowledgement for their work, or disappear

and I will think of Him and every day from this day on if He only grants me this one wish: My

his boy too. (346) Amir s prayer is very interesting because it is for him, and not for Sohrab. This
is an extremely selfish thing to do because time and time again Amir puts himself before
everyone else. His selfishness has come to the point that he would say, I pray God doesn t let
[his hands] get stained with the blood of [Sohrab] too, this comment is showing how Amir s
initial reaction is to worry about his conscience. When Amir is making promises to God,
Hosseini uses hyperbole, which is the over exaggeration of words or phrases. Hosseini uses
hyperbole to make the point that Amir is in a desperate state, and that in his desperation he is
making false promises to God. For example, Amir says, I will commit to memory every last word

Essay on The Linux
The Linux was originally founded by Linus Torvalds. In 1991, he was a second year computer
science student in Finland. He sought after an operating system that was similar to the UNIX
system, but both UNIX and the hardware it ran on were excessively expensive. A UNIX version
called Minix was available for free, but it did not reasonably meet his needs as it was simply an
operating system for students, designed primarily as a teaching tool rather than an industry strength
operating system. As a result, Torvalds studied Minix and proceeded to set out to write a new
version. After six months of working to produce the new operating system, Torvalds made very
little progress toward the utility of the system.

In many systems architecture, the kernel is the lowest level of software that interfaces with the
hardware in a computer. In UNIX, users typically have no direct access to it. It is responsible for
interfacing all applications that run in user mode including the physical hardware and allowing
processes to get information from each other.
Linux kernel developers designed kernel modules that could be loaded and unloaded at runtime.
Kernel modules are essential to keeping the kernel functioning with all of the computer s hardware
without consuming all of the available memory. A module generally adds functions based on the
users needs to the base kernel for things like file systems and devices. A kernel is essential for any
computer system to run and operate properly. The Linux kernelis different than OS X and
Windows because it includes drivers at the kernel level, and most other operating systems do not.
(Salzman, 2005.)
The Linux operating system has been developed by many intelligent people. Around two percent of
the Linux kernel was actually written by Torvalds himself. Today, the Linux kernel has received
contributions from thousands of developers across the globe. Torvalds remains the definitive
authority on what new codes are incorporated into the Linux kernel. However, Linux distribution
modifies the kernel according to each of their users

1.If I were to choose a destination in my state it would be Dewey Beach. This is a popular
destination in Delaware because it is a beach full of restaurants and bars. It has the bay on one
side and the ocean on the other. It appeals a lot to young adults who want to go away and be
surrounded by people their own age. There are also musical events all year round at the different
bars.
2.My target market would be young adults ranging from about 23 28.
3.Dewey is a very big party beach. There are tons of bars, famously Starboard. This bar stays
open all year round and is constantly packed with people. Also Dewey is a great place for people
in this age range to be surrounded by people their own age. They are young and still want to go
out and have fun. The musical performances would also appeal to this age range. There are four
beaches anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour surrounding Dewey too, which means there are
plenty of opportunities for day trips too. So the money they are spending goes a long

Effects Of Pivotal Response Treatment On Language Expansion
Effects of pivotal response treatment on language expansion in children with autism Stock,
Mirenda, and Smith (2013) compared the effectiveness of private group applied behavior analysis
(GABA) and pivotal response treatment (PRT) on several domains of development in children with
autism spectrum disorder. Progress and effectiveness of treatment was assessed through several
measures, such as the Preschool Language Scale, the Merill Palmer Revised Scales, the Vineland
Adaptive BehaviorScales, the Child Behavior Checklist, and the Parenting Stress Index Short Form.
In the GABA group, intervention was individualized based on strengths and weaknesses of each
child, and structured 1:1 discrete trial training as well as generalized 1:2 teaching was implemented.
Target programs included imitation, manding, receptive language, object matching, adaptive skills,
and social skills training. Intervention took place both in intensive teaching and natural teaching
environments in a preschool like setting. Generalized ABA teaching included two children to one
therapist, and the children worked on social skills. In the PRT group, individualized intervention
goals focused on functional communicationskills, developmentally appropriate social and play
skills, as well as adaptive skills. A major difference between the two groups was that parents were
included in an active therapist role throughout intervention, and therapeutic sessions were
conducted in the home and community.

Successful Time Management Skills Analysis
Without having successful time management skills flowing correctly in my daily schedule. I find
myself stressing to get certain things done. Time Management is very important when it always
seem that there is never enough time in the day to complete daily actives such as being a full time
working mother, wife, and student. It seems as if I try to stretch myself to complete more goals
with less time. Even though I know, there are 24 hrs n each day those 24 hours never seem like
enough to complete my daily activities. To work on a more positive and workable time management
plan has become one of my main focuses. I have downloaded the time management form to see if
I can expand find some extra time or manage my time more efficiently.Kuafman (2004) asserts
that constantly late individuals cannot manage their time and routine appropriately and
recommends that proper and appropriate planning is the main asset of a leader. The way that I
have been operating, I have missed important deadlines, My work has been somewhat poorly and
I have been working with higher stress levels. All this can be avoided by managing my time more
correctly and stop trying to be a superwoman and handle so many things at once. I learned in this
week s assignment that I need to focus on one thing at a time( Chambers,2015).... Show more

Description And How Segmented Market Segmentation
Description/How Segmented
Market Segmentation
Market segmentation is a strategy that involves breaking down a business s current target market
into smaller subsets in order to establish a more defined set of market categories. It is important to
first look at the tools available to assist with segmenting the market prior to beginning your
segmentation. These tools include the following:
Characteristics of Buyers The typical consumer of precision machined parts includes distributors,
original equipment manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
Product Use For Falmer, their consumers typically purchase items in one of four categories
including heavy truck and truck related parts, high performance automobile parts, hydraulic hose
assemblies and railcar hardware. There are some customers that supply detailed drawings that fall
outside of these main categories that Falmer will produce the parts for as long as their equipment
has the capabilities to do so.
Buyers Needs/Preferences The consumers in the precision machined parts industry typically look
for a supplier that can provide a high quality item to the required specification at a low cost and
short lead time. They also prefer to have a supplier that keeps them up to date on if any issues
arise, provide good customer service, and are willing to replace defective items if they are found.
Purchase Behavior Customers will look for precision machined part suppliers in various ways
including internet

Roots Canada Case Study
1) The Problem(s)/Opportunities/IssuesShould Roots Canada Expand to the EU market? There
are many possible outcomes for this measure if Roots Canada does expand in the European Union
(EU) some of the problems and opportunities, which can state the desired outcome. A major
problem concerning the EU is the competition laws they enforce. What this law does is that it
doesn t allow a business or organization to sell products at an extremely low price, which renders
competition impossible and used to wipe out competitors. This may led to the outcome anyone can
have their stake in the marketplace whereas consumers will depict other clothing manufactures

Inhumanity In Tuesdays With Morrie And Night
There is only one way in which one can endure man s inhumanity to man and that is to try, in one
s own life, to exemplify man s humanity to man Alan Paton. Neither of the characters in Tuesdays
with Morrie by Mitch Albom, and Night by Elie Wiesel, had a choice about the inhumanity they
faced. One was cursed with a fatal disease and the other was put in a deathcamp. Even though both
of the main characters, Morrie and Elie, experienced copious amounts of inhumanity, they both
found it in them to be humane. Both Tuesdays with Morrie and Night deal with cases of
inhumanity and get through it by being humane to others.
In Tuesdays with Morrie, the main character turns the inhumanity in his life around and is humane
to others to make up for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elie is in a concentration camp that forces him to face inhumanity everyday. Elie and the others
in the camp never knew when they were going to face death, like Morrie. From day one Elie was
dehumanized and treated like an animal. When he was taken from his home, he was placed in a
cattle car. He was then given a number and stripped from his identity. The Nazis continually
called him worthless and a pig. Elie questioned how anyone could be humane in a situation like
this and said, Humanity? Humanity is not concerned with us. Today anything is allowed.
Anything is possible, even these crematories (30), but despite all of the trauma and inhumanity
Elie faced on a daily basis, he was humane to his father. Elie did everything in his power to stay
alive for his father, similiar in a way to Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie. Elie showed humanity to
his father. In the beginning when they had to march everywhere, Shlomo, Elie s father, struggled
with it. Like Morrie, Elie taught Shlomo how to march and to not get in trouble. Elie wanted the
best for his father. When Elie s father was on his deathbed, Elie brought him food and water, even
though Elie himself was starving. Elie did not give in to the inhumanity that was brought upon him.
Elie chose to rise above it, just as Morrie

Rapid Performance Appraisal
Once rapid response statistics, literature research, and evaluation of SAHS protocols were
acknowledged, the application of interventions was initiated. The first intervention performed was
establishing a power point presentation for new nursing graduates and new hires with information
on current rapid response procedure containing best practice and statistical evidence. By
collaborating with stakeholders and assembling the information gathered in the planning stages, a
power point presentation was generated. The presentation was applied to multiple new hires and
new graduate orientations to educate the incoming staff members of the rapid response system. The
reasoning for educating the incoming employees to the current rapid response practice... Show more

Two diverse surveys were created and labeled A and B. The targeted hospital community was
nurses, charge nurses, new graduates, certified nurses, and other medical professionals. Survey A
was produced for all medical professional to receive hospital specific information about the rapid
response system by its main operators. Survey A consisted of seven different questions on the
current rapid response system effectiveness, how to make the resource more efficient, any barriers,
more education to implement, reasoning for calling, and using a nurse as a consultation. This
particular survey generated 40 replies from different medical professionals within the hospital.
Questions on the survey ranged from subjective to quantifiable data feedback dependent on the
question. On survey A, the question asked how to make the rapid response more efficient. The
feedback for this answer was subjective with staff members stating encourage it more , more
education , and need to use it sooner rather than later (citation). A different question was asked on
the barriers of initiation. Employees stated, lack of knowledge, current call system is not quick
enough nor efficient, fear of calling, and not knowing how to call a rapid response

What Are The Ethical Dilemma In Nursing
In addition to technical support provided to patients, nurses must address the psychosocial
challenges and ethical conflicts associated with caring for critically ill patients and their families.
More often Nurses are left with dilemmas when it comes to decision making and trying to up holds
the ethics of autonomy, who to listen to, the client or the family? Ethically the patient has the right
to choose what s best for self, but is powerlessness when one is brought to hospital in a critical
condition.
Ethical dilemmas are the main common challenges faced by nurses, during practice almost on daily
basis. These dilemmas can erupt amongst nurses themselves, or nurses and doctors and the worst
between nurses and patients.
Conflicting obligations arises when the nurse is supposed to make ethical decisions between what
to be done versus what not to be done, making it difficult to choose between the two. There are
several factors that brings about ethical dilemmas such as, increase in consumer demands, shortage
of resources, truth telling, withholding information, withdrawing ... Show more content on

One is to help the bereaved to develop their own ways of coping and the other is to ensure that their
own difficulties, needs and attitudes relating to death and dying of their patients do not compromise
their psychological well being. It was noted by the same author that the psychological impact and
after events prevalent in a critical care nurses working environment remains relatively unexplored.
Michell (2010) also felt that repetitive exposure to resuscitative measures, end of life care needs,
prolonging life by pharmacological and mechanical means and the continuous adjustment of these
critical care nurses to this hostile environment, results in psychological disorders such as post

Communication In Maniac Mageee
In the book, Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli uses descriptive details, dialogue, actions, and
thoughts to develop one of the main characters, Amanda Beal. I am Amanda Beale. I like to
communicate. I personally think I am very good at it. I have three brothers one sister. I love
books especially encyclopedias. I hope that you will let me teach at John T Baker Middle
School. One quality that I have that would be good for this job is being able to communicate
well. For one I communicate well with others. I speak with confidence and reason, depending on
how the person is acting or the situation. For example once I had to say this to a person that was
being a bully I got a little brother and a little sister that crayon all over my books, and I got a dog
that eats them and poops on them and that s just inside my own family, and I m not gonna have
nobody else messing with my books! Even though I am clearly mad in this case I still spoke
with confidence I spoke clearly and I had evidence for the situation I was in. Another example of
me being communicating well is once I found my friend Maniac is a buffalo pen at the zoo late
at night in the west side of town. I had to convince him to come home. This is what I told him
you do not have a choice. I am not asking you. I m telling you. You are coming home with me,
and you are going to sleep in my room, which is going to be your room and I don t care if you
sleep on the floor or the windowsill or what but you are going to sleep there and not here. As you
can see I am talking to Maniac about the fact that he will come with me and that he will not sleep
in the buffalo pen. I spoke clearly stated my claim and told him what needed to be done. His
shows that if I need something to get done I will communicate with the person. Finally I think I m
communicative because in my life I have probably gone through many stages. One of these stages
was taking baths with my brothers. When I finally grew out of it I had to tell them, communicate
with them. This is what happened Then came a day when Amanda entered fourth grade, and she
decided she was getting too old to tub it with her little brother and sister. This shows that Amanda
decided to communicate with her

Campbell Soup Company Analysis
The name of the company that I am researching is Campbell Soup Company. Campbell Soup
Company is a food processing industry that sells a range of high quality canned soups, simple
meals, beverages, snacks, and packaged fresh foods. As a part of the company s broad portfolio
of brands, Campbell also makes many other products such as SpaghettiOs canned pasta, Pace
Picante sauce, V8 beverages, Arnott s biscuits, and Pepperidge Farm baked goods. It is
headquartered in Camden, New Jersey. According to the Campbell Soup Company2017 Annual
report, Campbell SoupCompany recorded sales of $7,890,000,000. Under the company s
Consolidated Balance Sheets, the company recorded $7,726,000 of total assets. Campbell Soup
Company has a total of 16,500 employees.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company is financially not doing well right now and the company has recorded a Net
Operating loss for three years now. I think the company is not financially secure because of how
unstable US economy can become. During the last American recession in 2007, which did not
end for a few years ago. large amounts of jobs were cut worldwide and those individuals
remained unemployed for long periods of time. Recession decreases people s purchasing power.
If consumers income is down, their demand will decrease which will lead to a decrease in
company s profits. Since Campbell cannot control the economy, recession, the global market,
worldwide cuts in jobs, a decrease in demand, and people purchasing power are all major threat to
profits and net sales. In addition, consumer loyalty and the attraction of new consumers are also
threat to the Campbell Brand. From doing previous research, Campbell Soup Company s core
consumers are the baby boom generation. This is problematic because the company is doing a
poor job at targeting Millennials. According to Forbes s Jenna Goudreau, the company is struggling
to maintain relevance with Millennials. Business experts predict that if Campbell Soup Company
fails to increase sales with the Millennial group, Campbell s

  • 2. The Importance Of Fanatic Discipline In Nursing As look to the future, I become excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. I was captured by Collins with these words, We cannot predict the future. But we can create it (p.1). Great by Choice, then became something of an obsession. I began to dissect and examine myself and my gifts and talents to determine where my strengths lay, and weaknesses could be improved. I examined how I could become of better service, exercise humility and leadership more effectively and how I could share my passions with others. I suggest that if I could accomplish these goals, I would indeed feel as fulfilled. As I continued my inward journey, I devoured the subsequent chapters where I felt continued to be reassured. Fanatic Discipline is described by Collins consistency with regard to values, long term goals, performance standards and consistency over time. He goes on to remind us that regimentation is not the same as discipline and to a 10Xer the only discipline is self discipline (p.21). In the medical profession, the best nurses learn to triage when it comes to patient care. This means, to determine the priority of the patients treatment based on the severity of condition of each individual. This is especially important when handling crisis situations and requires fanatic discipline. Lack of monomaniacal focus in medicine can result in the loss of life. I would suggest that in our day to day professional and personal lives 10Xers, must be able to triage according to which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Rot The Heart Of The Brazilian Economy Summary Since the great depression, our understanding of what makes an economy grow or contract changed a bit. New macroeconomics concepts became popular, sometimes even taking place of classic ones. Using those concepts, Christopher Sabatini wrote the article The Rot the Heart of the Brazilian Economy , published by the Foreign Policy (FP) website on last February. In the article, Sabatini tries to explain what went wrong with the once very prosperous Brazilian economy, which in the past years has been diving into a recession that is so deep that many economists already call it a depression. The purpose of this paper is to explain Keynesian model and fiscal policy, concepts that I have learned in the macroeconomicsclasses and that helped me to understand... First, let us remember that when the government sells bonds with bigger yields, everyone will be interested in taking advantage of that opportunity, not only Americans. In fact, foreigners can and will buy those American bonds, and they will need American dollars to do so. The sudden demand for American dollars will make the dollar value spike up, and with an expensive currency, U.S. products will become more expensive and less attractive to foreigners which will finally decrease X and AD. This is the open economy effect. Lastly, the government relies in the fact that the most part of the population are economically ignorant . However, some households and companies are aware of the economy situation, and will not react as the government expects. They will actually start saving as soon as they realize that the federal administration is borrowing money to increase spending; that happens because the government eventually will have to increase federal taxes to pay that bill. • 4. America s Current Socio Political Events And Values Are... America s current socio political events and values are reflected through the film industry s portrayal of superheroes. Annika Hagley writes a very convincing argument regarding this theory in her article America s need for superheroes has lead to the rise of Donald Trump. Post 9/11, it has become increasing clear that the issues and values held dear to most Americans are now being portrayed on the big screen. Fighting back at the enemy and uniting as one are some of the messages in the background of superherofilms released after the attacks on the twin towers. Today, the USA is more divided; just like the superheroes that have been on the silver screen in recent months. In continuation, America s allowances for overly violent superheroes and everything said superheroes stand for, are simply just reflections of their own socio political views and values. It is this allowance that has lead to the rise of Donald Trump. Exacting vigilante justice in the name of the greater good has been the message in a handful of superhero movies released in the past the few years. Almost eerily, this action has matched with the United State s agenda, invading the Middle East. In recent years, the focus has shifted from fighting united, to fighting those who do not share the same political views. The Democratic party leader Hilary Clinton is running a campaign based on liberal views1. Whilst, her opposition, the leader of the Republican party, Donald trump is appealing to those who ... • 5. The Importance Of Enlightenment In Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha Follows the life of a Hindu son of a Brahmin who sends most of his life searching for enlightenment. Siddhartha spends much of his young life as a Samana monk, but does not find enlightenment until after he has entered the world of the child people and experienced life for himself. Siddhartha at the end of the story tells his childhood friend Govinda that knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom, and it is wisdom that leads to enlightenment. Siddhartha realizes early on in the book that the reception of knowledge will not lead him to enlightenment, although he cannot describe this feeling until he is enlightened. His rejection of teachers and of the Brahmins and Samanas are all examples of young Siddhartha s rejection of knowledge. Even though the Brahmins participate in holy sacrifices, meditation practices, and discussions,Siddartha does not think with is enough to bring him to enlightenment. He also feels he has learned all he can from his teachers and books, so he joins the Samanas who seek enlightenment through trying to loose their human form and cutting themselves off from humanity. He claims that he is leaving the Samanas because he had grown distrustful and tired against teachings and learning, and that [his] faith in words, which are brought to us by teachers, is small. (36) He argues that if the Samanas are so wise why have none of them reached enlightenment themselves. What they are giving to Siddhartha and sharing to each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Mark Twain S The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Is More Mark Twain s the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is more than just a condemnation of pre civil war society and its justification of slavery. Twain also uses the novel to challenge the validity of superstition. The main characters, Huckleberry and Jim, are mere marionettes for Twain to express his censure through; he mocks them with their own fears and distortion of superstition. Twain s representation of superstition throughout the book is indicative of his own thoughts towards the subject. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a sequel to Twain s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer . However, violence was commonplace, and young Sam witnessed much death: When he was 9 years old, he saw a local man murder a cattle rancher, and at 10 he watched a slave die after a white overseer struck him with a piece of iron. Huck treats Jim like an equal and at a time, he looks to Jim for comfort and guidance when they find his father dead on a fishing boat. Samuel s childhood town and its proximity to the Missouri river also influenced his writing. His pen name is actually derived from a boating term and Missouri and its rivers were the primary settings of Huck Finn and its predecessor, Tom Sawyer. Hannibal, Missouri was far behind in development compared to other western towns. Its amenities were rudimentary as where its beliefs. The town, like much of Missouri, still believed in superstition. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven t forgotten. Given this point, I believe Instagram is a negative impact on the youth culture because it created virtual bullyingand a disillusioned self image meaning lowering one s self esteem how someone s appearance supposed to be. Thus, I believe as a previous instagramer one shouldn t indulge in the social media world if they re not self confident or aware of their own self. Bullying begins inside the school because my beginning stages of being bullied began in the 4th grade. At that time, I attended a private school which was majority whites and I was the only little black girl in my class, we all knew each other since pre school but as we aged the one s I had as friends disappeared into their own group of peers, so I was left alone. Since, I felt like I wasn t fitting in and lost the friends I once had I decided to transfer over to a majority African American public school in the 6th grade which was actually worse than being alienated at the private school. My assumption on being around peers who were the same race was a mistake because although I felt alienated at my other school, once I transferred over in the 5th grade I literally transferred to a school from hell. • 8. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Zinc Oxide Zinc oxide is a semiconductor material II VI studied since the middle of 20the century. Most of the physical properties of massive ZnO are therefore well known for several decades. The interest of the researchers then declined, partly because of a major technological lock for the use of ZnO in optoelectronics, namely the impossibility of doping the p type ZnO. The ability to grow thin layers and low dimensional hetero structures (quantum wells, nano columns, etc.) of good crystalline quality recently revitalized the research effort on ZnO, particularly with the aim of obtaining effective devices for optoelectronics in the blue and near ultraviolet, in complement gallium nitride. For this purpose, the main advantage of ZnO GaN is a lower cost, enabled by the relative abundance of zinc over gallium. Zinc oxide powder is also used as an additive in numerous products, for example plastics, ceramics, paints, pigments, cosmetics, etc. In material science, another major benefit of zinc oxide is its strong exciton binding energy which allows to preserve the exciton properties up to Room temperature. • 11. Medieval Castle Weapons The castle was an important aspect of warfare from the 10th to 13th centuries. Castles, particularly in England, played an essential role in warfare because of the power associated with them. Changes in castle defense are represented by two important types of castles: the motte and bailey castle and, later, the concentric castles. As a whole, they became more secure and fluid. Stronger materials were necessary to ensure more powerful weapons could not penetrate the defenses easily. In addition, more features were integrated into walls and central structures to allow defenders to have angles to attack without weakening the defenses. This created complexity in battle because of the increased number of angles available for shooting. The changes that ultimately led to the concentric castlewere prompted by the rapidly advancing technology used in weapons. The original defenses were no longer capable of defending against them and therefore had to be fortified further. The specific structural and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, a bailey was a courtyard surrounded by walls, ideally circular. Because castles were used for residential and administrative purposes along with warfare, they had important buildings and people to defend. Various pollutants generated and deposited in the urban regions are washed off to the receiving waters during storm events, resulting in receiving water quality degradation. The impacts on receiving water quality degradation include elevated toxicity, algal blooms and excessive sedimentation. Thus, use of stormwater pollution mitigation strategies to improve the quality of receiving waters has become increasingly important. Water sensitive urban design (WSUD) is the stormwater management philosophy adopted in Australia. The aims of WSUD are to manage stormwater quality and quantity to minimise the impacts of urban developments on the surrounding environment (Lloyd et al., 2002). WSUD concepts are developed to provide technically effective, more economical and less environmentally damaging solutions for stormwater management. However, there are barriers in widespread implementation of WSUD. In this regard, the long term viability of implemented WSUD systems are perceived with high level of importance (Lloyd et al., 2002). The primary concern is that the treatment systems adopted in WSUD approach are typically

Jane Austen presents love and marriage in many ways in the novel Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen opens Pride and Prejudice with a statement: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must want be in want of a wife. You know not what you are about. This happens when Mr Darcy has just proposed to Elizabeth. When I question why Mr and Mrs Bennet s marriage is so unsuccessful, I am faced with three points that I think contribute to their marital problem. Between Mr and Mrs Bennet there is no intellectual equality. Mr Bennet is clever, but on the other hand his wife isn t, in fact Mrs Bennet is a fool! She does not understand her husband in the slightest manner, and so Mr Bennet frequently takes this opportunity to make a quick comment that will offend Mrs Bennet. Jane Austen says, The experience of three and twenty years had been insufficient to make his wife understand his temper. These twenty three years of his unhappy marriage had brought Mrs Bennet s characteristics out in a true light. She was a woman of mean understanding, very little information and an uncertain temper. She fancied herself nervous whenever she felt discontented. • 19. Similarities Between The Wanderer And The Dream Of The Rood Comitatus in The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood are two Old English poems that demonstrate the link between lord and thane. This bond, also known as the comitatus, is highlighted with imagery to effectively portray the physical intimacy involved. The idea that everything is fleeting is emphasized to show the significance of the comitatus. Furthermore, the beauty of the relationship is shown by contrasting the shame that the Wandererfeels at the end of the poem to the honour and glory that is thrown upon the crossafter it willingly suffers along with Christ. In all, the ideals of the comitatus during the Medieval Times are clearly advocated through the illustration of the physical intimacy, shame and honour involved in the two poems. To start off, the two poems of interest both share the central idea that everything in life is fleeting. The Wanderer is a lament on the lost ways of life. The Wanderer thinks back to the times he was free from exile. He nostalgically compares his life then to the one he has now and comes to realize how quickly the time has gone by. From lines 73 to 77, it says The wise man must realize how ghastly it will be when all the wealth of this world stands waste, as now here and there throughout this middle earth walls stand blasted by the wind, beaten by frost, the buildings crumpling. His character traits display him as a very uptight person who is easily angered. Many times throughout the play this character shows his presitence and appreciation of his master, the Lady Olivia. His willingness towards Lady Olivia can be seen when he interrupts the loud partying of Sir Toby and Andrew, and when he dressed up as a fool because he believed that she had asked him to. Firstly, we can see that Malvolio is an extremely loyal servant towards Olivia when he interrupts the loud partying of Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria late at night. This caused a lot of negative ... ENGLISH The Taming of the Shrew , is one of William Shakespeare s most celebrated works in history and is known to be one of his most comedic pieces of literature. With its lighthearted sense of a late 1500 s Elizabethan era work, the famous play showed many relevant ideologies of society according to its particular era in history. Many of Shakespeare s works have been adapted into successful films that were made to suit the society of a new and different age, for example, his piece The Taming of the Shrew , has been formed into several films and short films. In my opinion, it just shows that Shakespeare s writings are still relevant today and forever will be timeless. The most famous remakes of the of the 1500 s play, were Gil Junger s 1999 adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You, and Franco Zeffirelli s 1967 version of The Taming of the Shrew . Both films show elements of similar society ideologies, such as masculinity and femininity which are portrayed through the main characters; Katherine, Kat, Petruchio and Patrick. Some characters show signs of severe misogynistic characteristics, for example, as the dominant Petruchio tames the dominant Katherine until she is submissive. To help corroborate with this is the quote For I am be born to tame you Kate, And bring you from a wild Kate to a Kate. Conformable as other household Kates. Pepsico And The Non Alcoholic Beverage Industry PepsiCo is a world leader in convenient food and beverages that manufacture, market, distribute and sell wide variety of beverages, foods and snacks, serving consumers in almost every part of the world. PepsiCo operates under six reportable segments: Frito Lay North America (FLNA), Quaker Foods North America (QFNA), Latin America Foods (LAF), PepsiCo Americas Beverages (PAB), PepsiCo Europe (Europe) and PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA). All of the mentioned segments are registered under one symbol PEP whose shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Chicago Stock Exchange and SIX Swiss Exchange. Since 49% of PepsiCo s operations are outside of the U.S. that generates significant portion of the company s net revenue, PepsiCo selected the currency of its foreign subsidiaries in which they generally operates as its functional currency, which is translated into US dollars on the company s financial statements. I have found that two major players, PepsiCo and Coca Cola dominate the non alcoholic beverage industry around the world. There is tremendous competition within a relatively slowing industry and PepsiCo currently controls nearly 21% of the industry with its Frito Lay segment alone controls 60% of the U.S snack food market. PepsiCo s consolidated financial statements are in conformity with U.S. GAAP, however if company was to converge with the IFRS, there will be positive and negative consequences on the reporting of the financial statements especially ... • 42. Virginia Beach Case Analysis Essay Virginia Beach focuses in on demographic and behavioral segmentation to appeal to potential tourists (pg. 89). They think of age ranges and what is going on in that time of your life and create advertisements to appeal to you. They call this what each group lives for (pg. 89) Since Virginia Beach focuses in on each demographic by age group they should also focus in on income. Singles without children may be willing to spend more. They could advertise beach front hotel rooms or hotel rooms with a view on the LIVEFORTHECRUISE.COM page (pg.90). This would give the family a better feel of Virginia Beach, there would be less lines, the Boardwalk would not be overcrowded, and restaurants would be more attentive. I would also still advertise the Charter fishing trips, they are a year round activity. PT. 2 DELAWARE VACTION 1.If I were to choose a destination in my state it would be Dewey Beach. This is a popular destination in Delaware because it is a beach full of restaurants and bars. It has the bay on one side and the ocean on the other. It appeals a lot to young adults who want to go away and be surrounded by people their own age. There are also musical events all year round at the different bars. 2.My target market would be young adults ranging from about 23 28. 3.Dewey is a very big party beach. There are tons of bars, famously Starboard. This bar stays open all year round and is constantly packed with people. Also Dewey is a great place for people in this age range to be surrounded by people their own age. They are young and still want to go out and have fun. The musical performances would also appeal to this age range. There are four beaches anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour surrounding Dewey too, which means there are plenty of opportunities for day trips too. So the money they are spending goes a long ... • 43. Effects Of Pivotal Response Treatment On Language Expansion Effects of pivotal response treatment on language expansion in children with autism Stock, Mirenda, and Smith (2013) compared the effectiveness of private group applied behavior analysis (GABA) and pivotal response treatment (PRT) on several domains of development in children with autism spectrum disorder. Progress and effectiveness of treatment was assessed through several measures, such as the Preschool Language Scale, the Merill Palmer Revised Scales, the Vineland Adaptive BehaviorScales, the Child Behavior Checklist, and the Parenting Stress Index Short Form. In the GABA group, intervention was individualized based on strengths and weaknesses of each child, and structured 1:1 discrete trial training as well as generalized 1:2 teaching was implemented. Target programs included imitation, manding, receptive language, object matching, adaptive skills, and social skills training. Intervention took place both in intensive teaching and natural teaching environments in a preschool like setting. Generalized ABA teaching included two children to one therapist, and the children worked on social skills. In the PRT group, individualized intervention goals focused on functional communicationskills, developmentally appropriate social and play skills, as well as adaptive skills. A major difference between the two groups was that parents were included in an active therapist role throughout intervention, and therapeutic sessions were conducted in the home and community. ... Description And How Segmented Market Segmentation Description/How Segmented Market Segmentation Market segmentation is a strategy that involves breaking down a business s current target market into smaller subsets in order to establish a more defined set of market categories. It is important to first look at the tools available to assist with segmenting the market prior to beginning your segmentation. These tools include the following: Characteristics of Buyers The typical consumer of precision machined parts includes distributors, original equipment manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. Product Use For Falmer, their consumers typically purchase items in one of four categories including heavy truck and truck related parts, high performance automobile parts, hydraulic hose assemblies and railcar hardware. One was cursed with a fatal disease and the other was put in a deathcamp. Even though both of the main characters, Morrie and Elie, experienced copious amounts of inhumanity, they both found it in them to be humane. Elie is in a concentration camp that forces him to face inhumanity everyday. Elie and the others in the camp never knew when they were going to face death, like Morrie. From day one Elie was dehumanized and treated like an animal. When he was taken from his home, he was placed in a cattle car. He was then given a number and stripped from his identity. The Nazis continually called him worthless and a pig. Elie questioned how anyone could be humane in a situation like this and said, Humanity? Humanity is not concerned with us. Today anything is allowed. Anything is possible, even these crematories (30), but despite all of the trauma and inhumanity Elie faced on a daily basis, he was humane to his father. Elie did everything in his power to stay alive for his father, similiar in a way to Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie. Elie showed humanity to his father. In the beginning when they had to march everywhere, Shlomo, Elie s father, struggled with it. Like Morrie, Elie taught Shlomo how to march and to not get in trouble. Elie wanted the best for his father. When Elie s father was on his deathbed, Elie brought him food and water, even though Elie himself was starving. • 50. Communication In Maniac Mageee In the book, Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli uses descriptive details, dialogue, actions, and thoughts to develop one of the main characters, Amanda Beal. I am Amanda Beale. I like to communicate. I personally think I am very good at it. I have three brothers one sister. I love books especially encyclopedias. I hope that you will let me teach at John T Baker Middle School. One quality that I have that would be good for this job is being able to communicate well. For one I communicate well with others. I speak with confidence and reason, depending on how the person is acting or the situation. For example once I had to say this to a person that was being a bully I got a little brother and a little sister that crayon all over my books, and I got a dog that eats them and poops on them and that s just inside my own family, and I m not gonna have nobody else messing with my books! Even though I am clearly mad in this case I still spoke with confidence I spoke clearly and I had evidence for the situation I was in. Another example of me being communicating well is once I found my friend Maniac is a buffalo pen at the zoo late at night in the west side of town. I had to convince him to come home. This is what I told him you do not have a choice. I am not asking you. I m telling you. You are coming home with me, and you are going to sleep in my room, which is going to be your room and I don t care if you sleep on the floor or the windowsill or what but you are going to sleep there and not here. As you can see I am talking to Maniac about the fact that he will come with me and that he will not sleep in the buffalo pen. I spoke clearly stated my claim and told him what needed to be done. His shows that if I need something to get done I will communicate with the person. Finally I think I m communicative because in my life I have probably gone through many stages. One of these stages was taking baths with my brothers. When I finally grew out of it I had to tell them, communicate with them. This is what happened Then came a day when Amanda entered fourth grade, and she decided she was getting too old to tub it with her little brother and sister. This shows that Amanda decided to communicate with her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recession decreases people s purchasing power. If consumers income is down, their demand will decrease which will lead to a decrease in company s profits. Since Campbell cannot control the economy, recession, the global market, worldwide cuts in jobs, a decrease in demand, and people purchasing power are all major threat to profits and net sales.
