Too Much Television On Children And Technology
Adults have been worried about their children watching too much TV since, well, forever. For
decades, Americans had only one or two TVs in their home. Now a single household might have
dozens of them around the home. But the times have changed and in actuality, we are all surrounded
by screens nearly all the time from television, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and video games. The
American Academy of Pediatrics claims that children spend an average of 7 hours a day on what it
terms entertainment media, and that includes TVs, computers, phones, and other electronic devices.
The AAP also says that excessive media use can lead to attention problems, school difficulties, sleep
and eating disorders, and obesity. Are children spending too much time staring at screens? Should
parents limit how much time children spend on technology?
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Canadian Society of Pediatrics state infants aged 0 2
years should not have any exposure to technology, 3 5 years be restricted to one hour per day, and 6 18
years restricted to 2 hours per day (AAP 2001/13, CPS 2010). Between 0 and 2 years, infant s brains
triple in size, and continue in a state of rapid development to 21 years of age (Christakis 2011). Early
brain development is usually determined by environmental stimuli, or lack thereof. Stimulation to a
developing brain caused by the overexposure to technologies, such as cell phones, internet, tablets,
TV, has been shown to be associated with

Robert S. and Daniel L. say: Marginal utility measures the additional satisfaction obtained from
consuming one additional unit of a good. (Robert S. and Daniel L. Microeconomics 2010).
Diminshing marginal utility is the utility from one more unit consumption increase will decrease.
Equal marginal principle, as Robert S. and Daniel L. say: It is maximized when the consumer has
equalized the marginal utility per dollar of expenditure across all goods. [pic]
2.2 The understanding of marginal utility theory
Marginal utility, in other word, is the difference in your satisfaction when you are offered with an
additional one unit of a good or service. For example, when you are hungry, you will be very happy
with someone offering you a piece of bread. If you got the second one, you will still be happy. So do
the third or fourth one. But when it comes to the fifth or sixth piece, you may be less happy with that.
When it reaches to the seventh piece, you may become unhappy with the offer. It is usual consumers
psychology. In the process, people increasing satisfaction of getting one more piece of bread is
marginal utility. And just like full filling a bottle with water, people will finally reach a point that we
are not able to accept more good or service or even the water will spill out which likes the satisfaction
remain the same as the previous one additional unit.
Marginal utility theory has three main features. First, it

The Effects Of Social Media On Our Lives
There are so many things that go on in this world, with this in mind think about how everyone gets
their information; Media. The world is surrounded by people walking in the streets on their phones,
sitting at a restaurant on their phones, even at work on their phones, do you see the problem? There
are so many things that happen on a daily basis, but there are only a few people that can go thought
the day without their phones. Phones are the next generation baby sitters. With news at our fingertips
the speed at which news gets around is so shocking. Social media is how people get their information
and strive through the day, but when is it too much. From the invention of a cell phone to now, there
have been so many advances. With the new technology advance, there comes the people that have to
have the best of the best, which increases the amount of time one is on their phone. With news giving
people facts and the truth with a little bit of bias, there is a point that they are trying to get out. Then
on the other side to that you have the mass media that alters the truth which has a lot of people that
influence the facts. The media is a huge way for people to communicate and when they do they things
they say are written and can be altered which in some cases is not the best. With there being so many
different types of apps and what not there are tons of places for people to get information, sometimes
the information that they are getting is false accusation, but technology

Essay on The Solar System
The Solar System
What are planets? Planets are kinda like asteroid around the sun. There are nine planets in the solar
system, Mercury, Venus, Earth ( Our planet ), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn,Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
The Terrestrial Planets
The terrestrial planets are the four innermost planets in the solar system, Mercury, Venus, Earth and
Mars. They are called terrestrial because they have a compact, rocky surface like the Earth s. The
planets, Venus, Earth, and Mars have significant atmospheres while Mercury has almost none. The
following diagram shows the approximate distance of the terrestrial planets to the Sun.

Prominences are immense clouds of glowing gas that erupt from the upper chromosphere. The outer
region of the corona stretches far into space and consists of particles traveling slowly away from the
Sun. The corona can only be seen during total solar eclipses.
The Sun appears to have been active for 4.6 billion years and has enough fuel to go on for another five
billion years or so. At the end of its life, the Sun will start to fuse helium into heavier elements and
begin to swell up, ultimately growing so large that it will swallow the Earth. After a billion years as a
red giant, it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf the final end product of a star like ours. It may
take a trillion years to cool off completely.
Mercury
It is the closest planet to the Sun, and second smallest planet in the solar system. Its diameter is 40%
smaller than Earth and 40% larger than the Moon. It is even smaller thanJupiter s moon Ganymede
and Saturn s moon Titan Mercury is one of the planet that doesn t have a moon or salitlite obriting

Lenzing Ag Case
Lenzing AG: Expanding in Indonesia
Case Review
Summary
Lenzing AG is one of the worlds largest rayon fiber manufacturers, originating in Lenzing, Austria. In
1938 Lenzing AG was founded, starting pulp and viscose fiber production.
Up until the 1980 s, Lenzing was a company that held its production and management in the same
country and town where the company had originated. Until one day , the Chairman of Lenzing had
agreed to go into a joint partnership with an international investor. The joint venture was with an
Indian entrepreneur by the name of Ashok Birla, who saw opportunity in Indonesia for Lenzing and
the rayon industry within. Lenzing viewed this as an opportunity to break out of their domestic
Austrian market, and tap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a producer of rayon, Lenzing s most important fundamental constituent is dissolving grade pulp.
This is a rather uncommon form of pulp, in which they have been purchasing from Brazil to their
production plant in Indonesia. This would be viewed as a weakness, as in Indonesia there are 14 pulp
producers, none with the technology to create the dissolving grade pulp, but pulp none the less. I
believe that Lenzing has an opportunity to create an agreement with one or more of these local pulp
producers, to enable them to produce the necessary grade of pulp.
As rayon requires a large amount of pulp for its production, they have purchased a percentage of a
company in Brazil to meet their pulp needs. For Lenzing, this was a valuable purchase and has made it
possible for them to continue the production of rayon in Indonesia. Although, I believe that there is an
opportunity locally that would satisfy their need for pulp. Indonesia has 14 producers of pulp, none of
them with the technology to create the required grade that is needed in the production of rayon. Rather
than purchasing a percentage of the pulp company in brazil, and having to ship the pulp time after
time internationally, it could have been a more economical transaction with the Indonesian pulp
companies. There could have been an opportunity to

Roald Dahl s Visit To Matilda The Musical
On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Sarah, my uncle and I traveled to the Winspear Opera House in
downtown Dallas to see Matilda the Musical. Audience members observed the beloved story by Roald
Dahl come to life on stage. This is the musical s first national tour filled with an incredibly young and
talented cast that draws readers into the story. One exciting detail worth mentioning is I ve had the
pleasure of personally meeting two of the talented cast members, Michael Fatica and John Michael
Fiumara in 2014 in New York City when they were ensemble members of the Broadway musical
Newsies. This cast did an amazing job creating a fun atmosphere while showing excellent
musicianship and telling the iconic story. The piece that opens the show is Miracle. This song begins

She demonstrated very nice diction and did an incredible job at staying in character. The Hammer is
the first song in which the audience members are introduced to the hilarious Miss Trunchbull.
Interestingly, Miss Trunchbull s character is played by a male tenor and she/he is an absolute blast to
watch! He did an excellent job in staying in falsetto and adding vibrato. Bruce is a song that highlights
one of the most well known scenes in the book in which Bruce gets in trouble for eating a piece of
Miss Trunchbull s cake and therefore must to eat the entire cake. Telly is performed by
Mr.Wormwood, Matilda s dad, in which he pokes fun at people who read instead of watching
television. This hilarious number was executed perfectly by the actor. He had great sliding notes and
made the number very fun to experience. When I Grow Up is a beautiful song that sends a
heartwarming message with its sweet melody. One thing that astounded me was that the actors were
singing while sitting and standing on moving swings. Not only did they have nice diction, they
maintained excellent phrasing along with crescendos and decrescendos. Quiet and My House are

Summer Was A Time For Traveling
Summer was a time for traveling, and exploring the uniqueness of the world; and when Samantha was
twelve years old, that is exactly what her family did. Samantha, her brother Jacob, and her parents
packed their suitcases full of summertime clothes and swimwear for a vacation to the Bahamas, in the
summer of 2012. This vacation held a special place in Samantha s life, because it was filled with
exhilarating experiences, amazing food, and a beautiful view. However, unlike Samantha s island
escape, in the winter of 2014 she got to experience a big time camping mistake! No matter how hard
Samantha tries to forget this atrocious vacation, she never can. Samantha, Jacob, her parents, and her
great aunt Carry all packed their suitcases full of miscellaneous items, not knowing what they would
be getting themselves into. Much like the island escape, the experiences, food, and the views all
created an unforgettable memory; however, this camping vacation was not a pleasing memory.
Samantha, get up it is time for an island escape! her mother shouted from downstairs on that hot
summer morning. Samantha jumped out of bed, and rushed in excitement to get prepared for her trip
to the Bahamas. This was Samantha s first time leaving Georgia, thus she

they did not hesitate to begin soaking up the summer sun. Relaxing in a lounge chair by the beach,

Moral Dilemm Abortion In The United States
Moral Dilemma: Abortion United States is divided into Democrats and Republicans, and this means
that people have very different opinions about various topics. Questions like gay marriage, economic
policies, and foreign policies divide people in several camps. They often have different values,
preferences and beliefs, but when it comes to abortion, this is the topic that both Catholics and
Democrats take extremely seriously and find it problematic (Leonhardt). The problem with abortion is
that no matter what position you choose, someone s rights are violated. In cases when it comes to gay
marriage, for example, by allowing these people to marry each other, no other parties are harmed, but
with abortion if you decide to give rights to have an abortion to women, then unborn babies are the
ones who pay the price and this price is the most extreme their life. To understand this issue we have
to consider both sides: by not allowing women to have an abortion, we are taking away their right to
control their bodies. Pregnancies often are unplanned and accidental and that means that a child can be
conceived without planning. Raising children is a life changing experience and it s not surprising that
people might not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the problems is that defining when a fetus can be called a baby is very hard, so while some
believe that getting an abortion when being 2 3 months pregnant is not a murder, others think that
from the moment women become pregnant, they are carrying a human and abortion is a crime. Some
conservatives take a less extreme stance and say that abortion can be allowed in special conditions, for
example, when a woman was raped and some liberals say that abortion should be permitted in any
case. So, the ideas ranging around this topic range from: no abortion should be tolerated and women
need to be punished, to women should have total freedom to decide what to do to their

The Bell Curve Dilemma And Performance Appraisal
The Bell curve conundrum
It is a well established fact that employed human capital provides the competitive edge to the firms
operating in the same competitive space. Organizations that have motivated and talented individuals
are likely to forge ahead of the pack, even if they have similar products or services. That is why it is
important that we manage the performance of the employees well. We discuss the goals to be achieved
during the year; provide feedback to employees on their progress and modify the direction as the year
progresses and organizational direction shifts. At the end of the performance year, start pulling
together information and evidence of how well the employees have achieved the goals. Then apply a
rating which will govern their payouts, promotions and compensation and create development plans
for the next year. We cannot fathom anything to go wrong in this textbook laid process. It has been a
best practice after all! But somehow performance appraisal is the most hated organizational practice
by the employees. No one is ever happy with the results of their performance appraisals. Many solid,
successful, and happy employees find their ratings discouraging. At the same time we find the
managers and HR to be fidgeting uncomfortably even after doing everything they could to ensure that
the performers are well fitted in the bell curve. There has to be a better way. Have the companies like
Microsoft, Cisco, Accenture and IBM found the better way by doing

Generic Strategy For Classifying A Text Document
.1 Generic Strategy for Classifying a Text Document The main steps involved are i) document pre
processing, ii) feature extraction / selection iii) model selection iv) Training and testing the classifier.
Information pre preparing lessens the measure of the information content records essentially. It
includes exercises like sentence limit determination [2], characteristic dialect particular stop word
disposal [1] [2] [3] and stemming [2] [4]. Stop words are practical words which happen as often as
possible in the dialect of the content (for instance, „a‟, ‟the‟, ‟an‟, ‟of‟ and so forth in English
dialect), so they are not helpful for order. Stemming is the activity of decreasing words to their root or
base structure. For English dialect, the Porter‟s stemmer is a prominent calculation [4] [12], which is
an addition stripping arrangement of orderly strides for stemming an English word, decreasing the
vocabulary of the preparation content by around 33% of its unique size [4]. For instance, utilizing the
Porter‟s stemmer, the English word speculations would in this manner be stemmed as speculations →
speculation → sum up → general → gener . In situations where the source records are site pages,
extra pre handling is required to evacuate/alter HTML and other script labels [13]. Highlight
extraction/choice distinguishes essential words in a content report. This is done utilizing strategies like

Essay On Service Design
Legacy systems built with specific design principles that can hinder the IT department when they
begin to update or make changes to upgrade the software. Integration of these legacy systems became
an issue in the late 90s when little was done to prepare organizations on how their data would be
shared through other platforms (Erl, 2008). This issue introduced many an array of problems for
organizations, especially when trying to convert into a larger scale model of previous designs. The
lack of stability, extensibility, and inadequate interoperability of frameworks are just a few of the
noted problems when enterprises attempt to adopt SOA on a larger scale (Erl, 2008). The acceptance

The services created will allow consumers the access to the most up to date products while giving the
enterprise the correct data for further advancement in technology and business. Short term solutions to
software can lead to numerous problems. The number one issue has the IT team trying to diagnose an
issue in limited amounts of time. The software can be complicated to understand thus limiting the
amount of time spent on designing the application could result in errors in the processes for the
enterprise. Also, short term operations eliminate the opportunity to reduce cost and increase
production times for the organizations. Ultimately, short term procedures do not allow the time for real
time decisions as well as the time to develop compatible software. In conclusion, a successful
investment will revolve around the amount of time invested in the products. An organization must
devote ample time for a product to reap the maximum amount of benefits. Time equals money and to
get a favorable return an enterprise must put in the time to see any gains from their investment.

Family Reunion Forms Teams At A Young Age
Schools, organizations, and even family reunion forms teams. Children are taught at a young age to be
team players and many parents engage their children in sports activity to learn this skill. Even children
shows through the years consist of teams from Ninja Turtles, Avengers to the old school children
shows such as Scooby Doo and Super Friends. These children shows typically provide kids lessons
and hidden messages about team work and their victory against the villains. Organizations may not
necessarily have to battle villains in order to be successful, but they do have obstacles to overcome to
be able to work together. It is also important to have an initial understanding of the types of issues that
a team face that prevents them from performing as a cohesive group. It starts with identifying the
organizational vision, its goals before leaders identify the right employees for the job. Recruiting,
attracting and retaining the right players may pose a challenge of its own; however, all can be done
with the right planning. Socializing the team through the right team building activities will enhance
the team s relationship and understanding towards a cohesive relationship. Most importantly is to align
the vision and employees objectives to provide employees the appropriate feedback for growth and
success of the team. Feedback and performance measurement will also allow the leader to reward and
recognize the team s top performers. Appropriate reward and recognition

The Role Of Labor Unions Within The United States
Increased Role of U.S. Labor Unions

February 16, 2016
Abstract
This paper will explore the role of labor unions within the Unites States. The effectiveness of Unions
and how they are important for the stability of the American economy. Unions provide many benefits
to employees due to the working relationship with management and politicians in the U.S Congress.
Some of the benefits that provided by unions are, paid vacations, pensions, an 8 hour work day with
breaks and social security benefits. Unions are continually fighting with politicians and the State
Government for better benefits. Will discuss the role of HRM s employee relations within the
organizations and what role the government should play.
Increased Role of U.S. Labor Unions In the United States unions have impacted the workforce by
creating better benefits for all works. Unions work to improve the working conditions in the
workplace by working with the organization to make sure they are following the labor laws of the
State and Federal Government. Labor unions date back to the eighteenth century and the industrial
revolution in Europe. (Union Plus, n.d.) Unions exploded in the United States around the nineteenth
century with the founding of the National Labor Union (NLU) in 1866. (Union Plus, n.d.) According
to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2015 the overall union

Present Wireless Scenario Consists Of Homogeneous Network...
Present wireless scenario consists of homogeneous network and heterogeneous networks. In
homogeneous network each base station has similar transmit power level, antenna pattern, receiver
noise floor and similar backhaul connectivity. But this type of network has disadvantage of coverage
hole. In heterogeneous network the macro BSs is collocated with micro, pico and femto cells. This
arrangement increases overall spectral efficiency per unit area (capacity) of the network. Whereas
small cell like micro, pico, femto and relays are used to avoid coverage hole and to provide mobility
to the users. Not only this relays can be used to provide backhaul connectivity, where wire line link is
not possible or are expensive to deploy. As determined by the information theoretic capacity limits,
current cellular systems have evolved to a point where a system with one BS achieves near optimal
performance. Researchers are now moving towards more advanced heterogeneous network topology
which will bring the network more closely to the mobile user leading to further capacity gains [46 49].
HetNets will significantly improve the spectral efficiency per unit area by utilizing a diverse set of
BSs. 1.4 Elements of Heterogeneous Network Heterogeneous deployment need to use innovative cell
association and inter celling interference coordination techniques in order to realize the promised

Durant had become a leading manufacturer of horse drawn vehicles in Flint, MI before making his
foray into the automobile industry. At its inception GM held only the Buick Motor Company, but in a
matter of years would acquire more than 20 companies including Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Oakland,
today known as Pontiac. In Germany, a company named Opel began by manufacturing dependable
sewing machines. Opel became a brand recognized worldwide after adding bicycles to their product
arsenal. In 1899, Opel entered the growing automobile market with the Opel Patent Motorwagen
System Lutzmann and became a part of General Motors thirty years later. Acceleration: 1910 1929
Earlier inventions such as the electric light bulb, the telephone, and the radio marked a new era of
possibilities. In particular, the automobile sent the imagination racing and expanded the horizon upon
which people could dream. As demand for automobiles grew to unexpected heights in the 1920s,
General Motors set the pace of production, design, and marketing innovation for others to follow.
Adding Chevrolet, Vauxhall and Opel, diversified the selection and added to the reach of GM. With
the philosophy and strategy of a car for every purse and purpose, and a series of landmark innovations
that changed the automobile itself, GM s vehicles went beyond transportation, becoming statements
and aspirations in their own right. During these years GM also opened more than a dozen new plants

Disease Spread Of New Zealand
Disease Risk Profiles
Introduction: As the world progress in the trade and rapid human movement from one place to
another, the spread of pathogens also progresses (WHO, 2001). There are many ways that a pathogen
can get into a new country. Usually the entry of pathogen into New Zealand is less due to its
geographical location. But, there are pathogens getting into the country. This might be because of an
undetectable pathogen, pathogens with no symptoms and other related reasons. For better
understanding of the mode of entry, the pathogen pathway and other properties of a pathogen we will
consider a fungi Puccinia psidii and a virus called Plum pox. It is notable that the detection techniques,
the means of disease spread varies from one pathogen to another.
Puccinia psidii
Geographical spread: Puccinia psidii is a fungi, indigenous to Brazil. In 1884, it was first observed in
the guava fruit and hence was named as guava rust. Later in 1934, the disease spread to Central
America and Caribbean island causing a major devastation. The reason behind this spread is still
unclear (Tommerup et al., 2003). This fungi is found in China, Southern and Central America, Japan,
Africa and Australia (Jolanda Roux et al., 2013). It is notable that a similar type of fungi, Puccinia
asparagi causing rust entered New Zealand from Australia in 1973 (Viljanen et al., 2006).
Fungi properties and symptoms: Guava rust causes rust most commonly in the flowering buds, fruits

Comparing The Novel, Cain By Jose Saramago And Gilead By...
The novels, Cain by José Saramago and Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, both present different
perspectives of God and truth. Through Cain, a reader can gain a skeptical perception of God and
ultimately, question the importance of religion. On an alternative side, while Gilead does not directly
offer commentary to God and religion, it is the source of its characters strength, especially with
Robinson s character Ames. Either way, God and religion has a profound impact on Cain and Ames
lives that not only expresses their relationship with religion but how God as an entity influences their
life path. Saramago s Cain spends most of the novel bitter towards God for cursing him. From Cain
and the Narrator s point of view, one can conclude that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clear that Cain s initial interaction with God was indeed a negative one but it created an outlet for
Cain to question truth and to prove why religion s truth is incorrect.
With the story of Job, That doesn t seem very fair of the lord...a good and upright man, and very
religious too, he has committed no crime, and yet, for no reason, he is about to be punished with the
loss of all his money and possessions, Cain questions why Job will be punished as severely as he was
when Job followed the ideal pious path (Saramago, 122 123). In this instance, Cain is taking a
protective role as well as a critical one when it comes to God s convoluted motivations, The lord and
satan made a wager, but this man job isn t to know he is the object of that gambler s agreement
(Saramago, 122). Possibly, Cain is able to relate to the citizens God tampered with since Cain felt he
was not at fault for killing Abel, but rather, God was for not stopping him or giving him such a
miserable life that led him to kill his younger brother. This idea that a misfortune, Job losing
everything he worked for, is contradicted in Robinson s novel, Gilead since Ames mother saw bad
luck as a blessing, That was a day s work lost for her, not to mention the setting hens and the fryers.

Bend It Like Beckham Cultural Citizenship
Cultural and Legal Citizenship in Bend It Like Beckham
The dual definition of citizenship from May Joseph s article Nomadic Identities: The Performance of
Citizenship, can be used to analyze the different forms of citizenship that are presented in the film,
Bend it Like Beckham, directed by Gurinder Chadha. Citizenship is typically referred to as someone
as being considered a member of a country under specific laws. This general idea of citizenship is
further analyzed in Nomadic Identities: The Performance of Citizenship. The article presents the idea
that citizenship is found to be more than a member of a country and is concluded that citizenship can
be much more personal and unique to each individual person. There is more than one definition ...

One takes a more dynamic approach while the other approach is much more bounded by a parameter
of specific policies. In the film, Bend It Like Beckham, one can notice that the main character s idea
of citizenship is more subject to change given the difference of cultures that she has encountered in
her lifetime. Jess participates in citizenship both legally, to the United Kingdom, and culturally, to her
Punjabi background. Mixing ideals of citizenship can be confusing but not necessarily chaotic. She
has learned to merge the differences in her life and create a harmonious and diverse environment for
herself. Jess does not assimilate into the English culture, but rather finds a way to participate in her
changing legal citizenship and her familial cultural citizenship. Bend It Like Beckham showcases the
dual definition of citizenship and how it can be interpreted. In this film s case, ideals of citizenship
attribute themselves more with the ideas presented in May Joseph s article rather than

Importance Of The Bill Of Rights
The first ten amendments are called the Bill of Rights they include the many freedoms people have
fought for to live in peace and without as many restrictions in their life. Passed by Congress
September 25, 1789 and later ratified in December 15, 1791. The first ten amendments are solely
based on basic freedoms. Varying from speech, trial by jury, and living without soldiers in their own
homes. Written by the great James Madison, he wrote after states were pushing for the protection of
individual freedoms. But Madison had an influencer when writing the paper, taking off of The Virginia
Declaration of Rights. The first ten amendments would be the building blocks on limiting government
powers. The Bill of Rights gives Americans protection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These examples are only a few of the many rights to liberty, equality, and justice highlighted in the
Constitution and Bill of Rights that Americans claim as their heritage.
The American concept of a bill of rights can be traced all the way to England. In the Magna Carta of
1215 and the English Bill of Rights of 1689, the British government ceded basic rights to some of its
citizens and, in so doing, restricted its own power to write and enforce laws . The Magna Carta came
about under the rule of England s 1167 1216 King John. When the despised and politically feeble
King John began to tax England s barons, they led a military revolt against him . He swiftly
surrendered and agreed to sign a document giving up some basic rights to free men and limiting his
authority to make laws. Although the Magna Carta did not guarantee the sort of basic rights that are
associated with our basic rights today, it established a basic code of criminal justice and made the kind
subject to his barons on some matters, such as tax law. More sweeping was the English Bill of Rights
in 1689, which came about following the Glorious Revolution of 1688 . King James II, was a Roman
Catholic king when Roman Catholicism was both unpopular and restricted by law in England. Due to
his pro catholic policies and his disregard for Parliament, James was deposed following a bloodless
coup .

Listeriosis
Listeriosis is a serious invasive disease that predominantly affects pregnant women, newborns and
immunocompromised adults. The causative organism, Listeria monocytogenes, is primarily
transmitted to humans through contaminated foods. Outbreaks of listeriosis have been reported
throughout the globe, most notably in North America, Europe and Japan.
The public health importance of listeriosis is not adequately recognized, especially since listeriosis is a
relatively rare disease compared with other common foodborne illnesses such as salmonellosis or
botulism. However, due to its severity and high case fatality rate, listeriosis ranks among the most
frequent causes of death due to foodborne illness second after salmonellosis.
Prevalence and incidence of the disease
Listeriosis has a low incidence rate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standout outbreak of listeriosis in the United States occurred in 2011, which was traced back to
contaminated cantaloupes that resulted in 142 hospitalizations and 33 deaths. From August 2008 to
December 2008, 22 people died in the 2008 Canadian listeriosis outbreak.
A wide range of food products have been associated with the transmission of listeriosis, primarily milk
and dairy products, meat products (cooked chicken, pate, rillettes, sausages, salami), vegetables
(coleslaw and rice salads, celery, alfalfa) and, in a lesser degree, fish products (smoked fish, shellfish,
shrimp). Generally, these foods have extended shelf life, do not require further cooking and support
the growth of the bacterium.
Listeria monocytogenes most frequently associated with listeriosis cases belong to serotypes 1/2a,
1/2b, and 4b. Epidemiological monitoring studies employ different genotyping techniques, with pulse
field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) as the golden standard due to its discrimination and reproducibility
for molecular sub typing of this

upon attention and patience. It disciplines negligence. It puts fine spurs to motive. ... It is a liberal

Revelation, it is an apocalypse or unveiling of the truth about life. (Mounce, Robert H.) For Tim
Wynne Jones, music [is his] major inspiration (Jenkins, Phil). This author prefers parts of a game
where ...the crises are imminent, the dangers unseen, the triumphs partial but also enormous. (Jenkins,
Phil). Nevertheless, in Tim Wynne Jones The Maestro, Burl goes through a very rough past but
manages to change his outlook on life once beauty is revealed to him. It reveals the mysteries of music
and the universe, as well as the complexities of Burl s life which in turn provides the protagonist hope
and inspiration. We see this through the child s life which begins filled with struggle and abuse then
follows even when he first encounters the piano. However, there is something about it that s freeing
and attracting Burl. Later on, he finds a sanctuary a fantasy place where something is revealed to him.
This Revelation brought inspiration which in turn has made him aware of affection in dealing with his
emotions and feelings of hope, his behaviours related to his decisions, his affiliations by being

Taco Bell Case
TACO BELL CASE
1. Draw a diagram of the process using the format in Exhibit 7.3.
2. Consider a base case where a customer arrives every 40 seconds and the Customer Service
Champion can handle 120 customers per hour. There are two Food Champions, each capable of
handling 100 orders per hour. How long should it take to be served by the restaurant (from the time a
customer enters the kiosk queue until her food is delivered)? Use queuing models to estimate this.
λ=Arrival Rate μ=Service Rate
Based on M/M/1 Model
So, λ=360040=90 Customers per hour μS (Service Champion)= 120 Customers per hour μF (Food
Champion)= 200 Customers per hour
Now, we need to calculate Average Total Time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the type of analysis done in this case what are the key assumptions? What would be the impact on
this analysis if the assumptions ware not true? Assumption | Impact if it was not true | Customer
arrival pattern is Poisson | If the customers arriving at Taco Bell Did not fulfill the assumption to be
characterized as Poisson arrival pattern the above calculation would have been wrong and other more
complex model would need to be used in order to determine correct values. | There is unlimited space
for the cars waiting in line | The number of cars waiting in line would have to be no larger than the
number of space available, so calculations carried out basing on M/M/1 Model would be unrealistic. |
The two services are independent | If this assumption is not met we would meet to use more
sophisticated models to provide this analysis. | Service Champion is never helping the Food
Champions, even if a complicated order is placed. | As per case in reality Service Champion
sometimes need to help Food Champions so the time it takes to serve customers would increase. |
Service pattern is exponential | If the service pattern were not exponential (i.e. it was constant) we
would need to use different Model to carry out the analysis. | 8. Could this type of analysis be used by

Relation Regress Argument Analysis
In this essay, I will explain and evaluate the relation regress argument against resemblance
nominalism, by arguing in favour of the relation regress argument. Firstly, I will define what
resemblance nominalism and the relation regress argument is. Then, I will look at the plausibility of
and concerns about Russell s relation regress argument, by comparing it to various counterexamples
which argue in favour of resemblance nominalism and are against the relation regress argument.
Finally, I will demonstrate why the relation regress argument seems more plausible than arguments in
favour of resemblance nominalism.
Resemblance nominalism is a type of nominalism which describes that some objects resemble each
other and others do not. The resemblance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Qualitative economy would be to restrict the kinds of objects to the least, while quantitative economy
is to restrict the number of objects in each kind to the least. It is quantitatively more economical to
admit to resemblance universals than to hypothesise a universal for each resemblance, according to D.
Nolan. So, only the relation of resemblance is accepted as a universal. This seems counter intuitive, to
accept the existence of universals only when it suits an argument and to decry its existence outside of
that. Therefore, it seems more plausible to admit to the existence of universals in general, not just as

The Current Pressurized Oxygen Tension Based Indices Response
In this thesis, I have attempted to further explore the nature of the current utilised oxygen tension
based indices response, with a view to its use as a tool to assess the pulmonary oxygenation in
critically ill patients. Furthermore, this thesis developed a new index to assess pulmonary
oxygenation. This topic was explored with external pulmonary factors to quantify oxygenation defect
through a maze of mathematics, different diseases, and pathophysiology. There was one or two ways
that could lead us to the answer and many dead end routes. Ultimately, the research produced an
equation that was more robust than the PaO2/FiO2 ratio in terms of less variation. The first chapter
described two different types of oxygen indices and its use. The second chapter described the medical
simulator in general and the Nottingham Physiology Simulator (NPS) in particular. In chapter three,
we examined the variation of certain oxygen indices with changes in the following external
physiological factors (FIO2, Hb, RQ, and VO2) without changing the pulmonary configuration status.
This investigation was done with ARDS simulated patients using a validated NPS model. The study
demonstrates that the external physiological factors induced a remarkable variation in comparing to
oxygen indices, and the use of each index depends on the type of the external physiological factors.
However, we conclude that clinicians should be aware of using the best index according to patient s
status. Accordingly,

The Conflict Of Indian Muslims
Communities are established upon the foundations of shared language, geography and history, not
solely religion. An example of failed attempt to build a nation on the basis of religion is
Israel . Since Jews settled there from all over the globe, with difference ethnicities, backgrounds and
languages etc., the country is engaged in constant internal conflict and disagreements, which has made
it clear that nations cannot be built upon the basis of religion.
On the other hand the two nation ideology stated that Muslims and Hindus in the Indian subcontinent
are two separate nations with their prime identity being religion. The ideology was a founding
principle of Pakistan Movement. Defining an ideology in which religion was a determining factor of
Indian Muslims was coined by Jinnah who declared it as an awakening of Muslims to create a separate
country.
But what is ideology? It is characterized as a collective set of principles, ideas and moral values that
constitute the goals and aspirations of a society, group, or person; it shapes their actions and motives
for the future and gives meaning to their lives. The concept of ideology is present in everything from
politics to sociology.
As the world changes, older and widely accepted ideologies are brought to question and when
established beliefs are challenged, it leads to heated disagreements and a lot of confusion as it strikes
at the core of any issue, movement or

Alexander used the God s in many ways as a motivational method for his army. Praying, sacrifices and
rituals were very important before each battle and each and every person would get involved, making
the army prepared and motivated to win victory as they knew the God s were on their side. The
Gordian knot was one of the major incidents that motivated all of his army. There was a legend

According to Henderson, speed is how far an object travels during a specific amount of time and does
not include the direction. Velocity can be explained as the speed of an object, but also including the
direction the object is heading towards (Henderson, 2015).
Giancoli states that the velocity of an object is taken with the magnitude the numerical value and the
direction of the object (Giancoli, 2009). Therefore, with these two qualities, velocity can be illustrated

Typography And The Printing Press
1. Typography Typography, according to Preece and Wells, is the design or selection of letter forms to
be organized into words and sentences for printing upon a page. Furthermore, the practice of
typography goes beyond the creation of the type or the font. According to Preece and Wells,
typography includes paper selection, the choice of ink to be used in printing, the printing method, and
the binding process in cases where the printed material is a book. Although the use of typography
became drastically more popular during the invention of the printing press in the mid fifteenth century,
the use of typography goes beyond this period in history. Before the invention of the concept of
typography, writing was already a popular form of visual communication, the history of which dates to
the use of hieroglyphs or pictograms in ancient times (Siebert). Per John Siebert, before the invention
of the printing press which revolutionized the practice of typography, the alphabets, and phonographic
writing, these ancient forms of writing were used by civilizations to express their ideas. The very first
recorded examples of written communication were the ancient cave paintings dating back around
20,000 years; however, the first forms of formal writing were invented by the Sumerians around 3500
B.C (Siebert). According to John Siebert, ancient writing systems grew more complex as civilizations
began to advance. Ancient Egyptians incorporated symbols and ideograms into their structures

The Impact Of Shale Gas Revolution On Natural Gas From...
A crisis in global energy consumption has been increasingly discussed in many world energy forums
which concern in the diminishing of fossil fuel and natural gas. Consequently, the US government has
attempted to seek a new resource to serve the global energy demand (SHAFIEE, 2009). The natural
gas from shale formation, abundant resources in US, has been discovered for a long time but there is
no efficient method to extract the natural gas from this formation. Moreover, the route to convey the
large amount of shale gas is one of our challenge that must be safe for human and environment, and it
should be a low cost technique as well (ARMOR, 2013). Furthermore, the impact of shale gas
revolution should be realized in a consequence of local protesters at the drilling sites or people who
are directly affected from the extraction projects. Therefore, the aims of this project are to describe the
most feasible technique and the future prospects in natural gas from shale formation.
Background and Significance
In a few decades, global natural gas demand has still sharply grown up every year. The world s crude
oil and natural gas reserves are usually the main resources for energy consumptions in our world.
Consequently, the total amount of these reserves has been significantly regarded by the leading
industrial countries (WANG, 2014). US government, especially, is the first leader who has attempted
to seek the new energy resources for the American energy consumption (Fig. 1). Although

  • 2. Too Much Television On Children And Technology Adults have been worried about their children watching too much TV since, well, forever. For decades, Americans had only one or two TVs in their home. Now a single household might have dozens of them around the home. But the times have changed and in actuality, we are all surrounded by screens nearly all the time from television, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and video games. The American Academy of Pediatrics claims that children spend an average of 7 hours a day on what it terms entertainment media, and that includes TVs, computers, phones, and other electronic devices. The AAP also says that excessive media use can lead to attention problems, school difficulties, sleep and eating disorders, and obesity. Are children spending too much time staring at screens? Should parents limit how much time children spend on technology? The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Canadian Society of Pediatrics state infants aged 0 2 years should not have any exposure to technology, 3 5 years be restricted to one hour per day, and 6 18 years restricted to 2 hours per day (AAP 2001/13, CPS 2010). Between 0 and 2 years, infant s brains triple in size, and continue in a state of rapid development to 21 years of age (Christakis 2011). Early brain development is usually determined by environmental stimuli, or lack thereof. Stimulation to a developing brain caused by the overexposure to technologies, such as cell phones, internet, tablets, TV, has been shown to be associated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Robert S. and Daniel L. say: Marginal utility measures the additional satisfaction obtained from consuming one additional unit of a good. (Robert S. and Daniel L. Microeconomics 2010). Diminshing marginal utility is the utility from one more unit consumption increase will decrease. Equal marginal principle, as Robert S. and Daniel L. say: It is maximized when the consumer has equalized the marginal utility per dollar of expenditure across all goods. [pic] 2.2 The understanding of marginal utility theory Marginal utility, in other word, is the difference in your satisfaction when you are offered with an additional one unit of a good or service. For example, when you are hungry, you will be very happy with someone offering you a piece of bread. If you got the second one, you will still be happy. So do the third or fourth one. But when it comes to the fifth or sixth piece, you may be less happy with that. When it reaches to the seventh piece, you may become unhappy with the offer. It is usual consumers psychology. In the process, people increasing satisfaction of getting one more piece of bread is marginal utility. And just like full filling a bottle with water, people will finally reach a point that we are not able to accept more good or service or even the water will spill out which likes the satisfaction remain the same as the previous one additional unit. Marginal utility theory has three main features. First, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Effects Of Social Media On Our Lives There are so many things that go on in this world, with this in mind think about how everyone gets their information; Media. The world is surrounded by people walking in the streets on their phones, sitting at a restaurant on their phones, even at work on their phones, do you see the problem? There are so many things that happen on a daily basis, but there are only a few people that can go thought the day without their phones. Phones are the next generation baby sitters. With news at our fingertips the speed at which news gets around is so shocking. Social media is how people get their information and strive through the day, but when is it too much. From the invention of a cell phone to now, there have been so many advances. With the new technology advance, there comes the people that have to have the best of the best, which increases the amount of time one is on their phone. With news giving people facts and the truth with a little bit of bias, there is a point that they are trying to get out. Then on the other side to that you have the mass media that alters the truth which has a lot of people that influence the facts. The media is a huge way for people to communicate and when they do they things they say are written and can be altered which in some cases is not the best. With there being so many different types of apps and what not there are tons of places for people to get information, sometimes the information that they are getting is false accusation, but technology ... • 5. Essay on The Solar System The Solar System What are planets? Planets are kinda like asteroid around the sun. There are nine planets in the solar system, Mercury, Venus, Earth ( Our planet ), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn,Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The Terrestrial Planets The terrestrial planets are the four innermost planets in the solar system, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. They are called terrestrial because they have a compact, rocky surface like the Earth s. The planets, Venus, Earth, and Mars have significant atmospheres while Mercury has almost none. The following diagram shows the approximate distance of the terrestrial planets to the Sun. The Sun The Sun is the most prominent feature in our solar system. The outer region of the corona stretches far into space and consists of particles traveling slowly away from the Sun. The corona can only be seen during total solar eclipses. The Sun appears to have been active for 4.6 billion years and has enough fuel to go on for another five billion years or so. At the end of its life, the Sun will start to fuse helium into heavier elements and begin to swell up, ultimately growing so large that it will swallow the Earth. After a billion years as a red giant, it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf the final end product of a star like ours. It may take a trillion years to cool off completely. Mercury It is the closest planet to the Sun, and second smallest planet in the solar system. Its diameter is 40% smaller than Earth and 40% larger than the Moon. • 6. Lenzing Ag Case Lenzing AG: Expanding in Indonesia Case Review Summary Lenzing AG is one of the worlds largest rayon fiber manufacturers, originating in Lenzing, Austria. In 1938 Lenzing AG was founded, starting pulp and viscose fiber production. Up until the 1980 s, Lenzing was a company that held its production and management in the same country and town where the company had originated. Until one day , the Chairman of Lenzing had agreed to go into a joint partnership with an international investor. The joint venture was with an Indian entrepreneur by the name of Ashok Birla, who saw opportunity in Indonesia for Lenzing and the rayon industry within. Lenzing viewed this as an opportunity to break out of their domestic Austrian market, and tap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a producer of rayon, Lenzing s most important fundamental constituent is dissolving grade pulp. This is a rather uncommon form of pulp, in which they have been purchasing from Brazil to their production plant in Indonesia. This would be viewed as a weakness, as in Indonesia there are 14 pulp producers, none with the technology to create the dissolving grade pulp, but pulp none the less. I believe that Lenzing has an opportunity to create an agreement with one or more of these local pulp producers, to enable them to produce the necessary grade of pulp. As rayon requires a large amount of pulp for its production, they have purchased a percentage of a company in Brazil to meet their pulp needs. For Lenzing, this was a valuable purchase and has made it possible for them to continue the production of rayon in Indonesia. Although, I believe that there is an opportunity locally that would satisfy their need for pulp. Indonesia has 14 producers of pulp, none of them with the technology to create the required grade that is needed in the production of rayon. Rather than purchasing a percentage of the pulp company in brazil, and having to ship the pulp time after time internationally, it could have been a more economical transaction with the Indonesian pulp companies. There could have been an opportunity to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Roald Dahl s Visit To Matilda The Musical On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Sarah, my uncle and I traveled to the Winspear Opera House in downtown Dallas to see Matilda the Musical. Audience members observed the beloved story by Roald Dahl come to life on stage. This is the musical s first national tour filled with an incredibly young and talented cast that draws readers into the story. One exciting detail worth mentioning is I ve had the pleasure of personally meeting two of the talented cast members, Michael Fatica and John Michael Fiumara in 2014 in New York City when they were ensemble members of the Broadway musical Newsies. This cast did an amazing job creating a fun atmosphere while showing excellent musicianship and telling the iconic story. The piece that opens the show is Miracle. The Hammer is the first song in which the audience members are introduced to the hilarious Miss Trunchbull. Interestingly, Miss Trunchbull s character is played by a male tenor and she/he is an absolute blast to watch! He did an excellent job in staying in falsetto and adding vibrato. Bruce is a song that highlights one of the most well known scenes in the book in which Bruce gets in trouble for eating a piece of Miss Trunchbull s cake and therefore must to eat the entire cake. Telly is performed by Mr.Wormwood, Matilda s dad, in which he pokes fun at people who read instead of watching television. This hilarious number was executed perfectly by the actor. He had great sliding notes and made the number very fun to experience. When I Grow Up is a beautiful song that sends a heartwarming message with its sweet melody. One thing that astounded me was that the actors were singing while sitting and standing on moving swings. Not only did they have nice diction, they maintained excellent phrasing along with crescendos and decrescendos. Quiet and My House are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Summer Was A Time For Traveling Summer was a time for traveling, and exploring the uniqueness of the world; and when Samantha was twelve years old, that is exactly what her family did. Samantha, her brother Jacob, and her parents packed their suitcases full of summertime clothes and swimwear for a vacation to the Bahamas, in the summer of 2012. This vacation held a special place in Samantha s life, because it was filled with exhilarating experiences, amazing food, and a beautiful view. However, unlike Samantha s island escape, in the winter of 2014 she got to experience a big time camping mistake! No matter how hard Samantha tries to forget this atrocious vacation, she never can. Samantha, Jacob, her parents, and her great aunt Carry all packed their suitcases full of miscellaneous items, not knowing what they would be getting themselves into. Much like the island escape, the experiences, food, and the views all created an unforgettable memory; however, this camping vacation was not a pleasing memory. Samantha, get up it is time for an island escape! her mother shouted from downstairs on that hot summer morning. Samantha jumped out of bed, and rushed in excitement to get prepared for her trip to the Bahamas. This was Samantha s first time leaving Georgia, thus she Ward 2 was very thrilled about the vacation. • 9. Moral Dilemm Abortion In The United States Moral Dilemma: Abortion United States is divided into Democrats and Republicans, and this means that people have very different opinions about various topics. Questions like gay marriage, economic policies, and foreign policies divide people in several camps. They often have different values, preferences and beliefs, but when it comes to abortion, this is the topic that both Catholics and Democrats take extremely seriously and find it problematic (Leonhardt). The problem with abortion is that no matter what position you choose, someone s rights are violated. In cases when it comes to gay marriage, for example, by allowing these people to marry each other, no other parties are harmed, but with abortion if you decide to give rights to have an abortion to women, then unborn babies are the ones who pay the price and this price is the most extreme their life. To understand this issue we have to consider both sides: by not allowing women to have an abortion, we are taking away their right to control their bodies. • 10. The Bell Curve Dilemma And Performance Appraisal The Bell curve conundrum It is a well established fact that employed human capital provides the competitive edge to the firms operating in the same competitive space. Organizations that have motivated and talented individuals are likely to forge ahead of the pack, even if they have similar products or services. That is why it is important that we manage the performance of the employees well. We discuss the goals to be achieved during the year; provide feedback to employees on their progress and modify the direction as the year progresses and organizational direction shifts. At the end of the performance year, start pulling together information and evidence of how well the employees have achieved the goals. Then apply a rating which will govern their payouts, promotions and compensation and create development plans for the next year. We cannot fathom anything to go wrong in this textbook laid process. It has been a best practice after all! But somehow performance appraisal is the most hated organizational practice by the employees. No one is ever happy with the results of their performance appraisals. Many solid, successful, and happy employees find their ratings discouraging. At the same time we find the managers and HR to be fidgeting uncomfortably even after doing everything they could to ensure that the performers are well fitted in the bell curve. In homogeneous network each base station has similar transmit power level, antenna pattern, receiver noise floor and similar backhaul connectivity. But this type of network has disadvantage of coverage hole. In heterogeneous network the macro BSs is collocated with micro, pico and femto cells. This arrangement increases overall spectral efficiency per unit area (capacity) of the network. There are two Food Champions, each capable of handling 100 orders per hour. How long should it take to be served by the restaurant (from the time a customer enters the kiosk queue until her food is delivered)? Use queuing models to estimate this. λ=Arrival Rate μ=Service Rate Based on M/M/1 Model So, λ=360040=90 Customers per hour μS (Service Champion)= 120 Customers per hour μF (Food Champion)= 200 Customers per hour Now, we need to calculate Average Total Time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the type of analysis done in this case what are the key assumptions? What would be the impact on this analysis if the assumptions ware not true? Assumption | Impact if it was not true | Customer arrival pattern is Poisson | If the customers arriving at Taco Bell Did not fulfill the assumption to be characterized as Poisson arrival pattern the above calculation would have been wrong and other more complex model would need to be used in order to determine correct values. | There is unlimited space for the cars waiting in line | The number of cars waiting in line would have to be no larger than the number of space available, so calculations carried out basing on M/M/1 Model would be unrealistic. | The two services are independent | If this assumption is not met we would meet to use more sophisticated models to provide this analysis. | Service Champion is never helping the Food Champions, even if a complicated order is placed. | As per case in reality Service Champion sometimes need to help Food Champions so the time it takes to serve customers would increase. | Service pattern is exponential | If the service pattern were not exponential (i.e. it was constant) we would need to use different Model to carry out the analysis. | 8. Could this type of analysis be used by other service type businesses? Give example Similar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Relation Regress Argument Analysis In this essay, I will explain and evaluate the relation regress argument against resemblance nominalism, by arguing in favour of the relation regress argument. Firstly, I will define what resemblance nominalism and the relation regress argument is. Then, I will look at the plausibility of and concerns about Russell s relation regress argument, by comparing it to various counterexamples which argue in favour of resemblance nominalism and are against the relation regress argument. Finally, I will demonstrate why the relation regress argument seems more plausible than arguments in favour of resemblance nominalism. Resemblance nominalism is a type of nominalism which describes that some objects resemble each other and others do not. The resemblance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Qualitative economy would be to restrict the kinds of objects to the least, while quantitative economy is to restrict the number of objects in each kind to the least. It is quantitatively more economical to admit to resemblance universals than to hypothesise a universal for each resemblance, according to D. Nolan. So, only the relation of resemblance is accepted as a universal. This seems counter intuitive, to accept the existence of universals only when it suits an argument and to decry its existence outside of that. Therefore, it seems more plausible to admit to the existence of universals in general, not just as resemblance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Current Pressurized Oxygen Tension Based Indices Response In this thesis, I have attempted to further explore the nature of the current utilised oxygen tension based indices response, with a view to its use as a tool to assess the pulmonary oxygenation in critically ill patients. Furthermore, this thesis developed a new index to assess pulmonary oxygenation. This topic was explored with external pulmonary factors to quantify oxygenation defect through a maze of mathematics, different diseases, and pathophysiology. There was one or two ways that could lead us to the answer and many dead end routes. Ultimately, the research produced an equation that was more robust than the PaO2/FiO2 ratio in terms of less variation. The first chapter described two different types of oxygen indices and its use. The second chapter described the medical simulator in general and the Nottingham Physiology Simulator (NPS) in particular. In chapter three, we examined the variation of certain oxygen indices with changes in the following external physiological factors (FIO2, Hb, RQ, and VO2) without changing the pulmonary configuration status. This investigation was done with ARDS simulated patients using a validated NPS model. The study demonstrates that the external physiological factors induced a remarkable variation in comparing to oxygen indices, and the use of each index depends on the type of the external physiological factors. However, we conclude that clinicians should be aware of using the best index according to patient s status. Accordingly, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Conflict Of Indian Muslims Communities are established upon the foundations of shared language, geography and history, not solely religion. An example of failed attempt to build a nation on the basis of religion is Israel . Since Jews settled there from all over the globe, with difference ethnicities, backgrounds and languages etc., the country is engaged in constant internal conflict and disagreements, which has made it clear that nations cannot be built upon the basis of religion. On the other hand the two nation ideology stated that Muslims and Hindus in the Indian subcontinent are two separate nations with their prime identity being religion. The ideology was a founding principle of Pakistan Movement. Defining an ideology in which religion was a determining factor of Indian Muslims was coined by Jinnah who declared it as an awakening of Muslims to create a separate country. But what is ideology? It is characterized as a collective set of principles, ideas and moral values that constitute the goals and aspirations of a society, group, or person; it shapes their actions and motives for the future and gives meaning to their lives. The concept of ideology is present in everything from politics to sociology. As the world changes, older and widely accepted ideologies are brought to question and when established beliefs are challenged, it leads to heated disagreements and a lot of confusion as it strikes at the core of any issue, movement or ... He began his war with a good relationship between himself and his troops and led according to the traditional Macedonian custom. The soldiers were like his equals and he lived among them as one of them. Alexander used the God s in many ways as a motivational method for his army. Praying, sacrifices and rituals were very important before each battle and each and every person would get involved, making the army prepared and motivated to win victory as they knew the God s were on their side. Projectile Lab Report Projectile 2 Lab Report Kelsy Ecclesiastre and Sara Lopez AP Physics 1 Period 6 Objective/Purpose: To correctly identify the range of a projectile when fired above the horizontal axis with only a meter stick (i.e. no timer). Background: According to Henderson, speed is how far an object travels during a specific amount of time and does not include the direction. Velocity can be explained as the speed of an object, but also including the direction the object is heading towards (Henderson, 2015). Giancoli states that the velocity of an object is taken with the magnitude the numerical value and the direction of the object (Giancoli, 2009). Therefore, with these two qualities, velocity can be illustrated as a vector. Acceleration occurs when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 36. Typography And The Printing Press 1. Typography Typography, according to Preece and Wells, is the design or selection of letter forms to be organized into words and sentences for printing upon a page. Furthermore, the practice of typography goes beyond the creation of the type or the font. According to Preece and Wells, typography includes paper selection, the choice of ink to be used in printing, the printing method, and the binding process in cases where the printed material is a book. Although the use of typography became drastically more popular during the invention of the printing press in the mid fifteenth century, the use of typography goes beyond this period in history. Before the invention of the concept of typography, writing was already a popular form of visual communication, the history of which dates to the use of hieroglyphs or pictograms in ancient times (Siebert). Per John Siebert, before the invention of the printing press which revolutionized the practice of typography, the alphabets, and phonographic writing, these ancient forms of writing were used by civilizations to express their ideas. The very first recorded examples of written communication were the ancient cave paintings dating back around 20,000 years; however, the first forms of formal writing were invented by the Sumerians around 3500 B.C (Siebert). According to John Siebert, ancient writing systems grew more complex as civilizations began to advance. Ancient Egyptians incorporated symbols and ideograms into their structures ... • 37. The Impact Of Shale Gas Revolution On Natural Gas From... A crisis in global energy consumption has been increasingly discussed in many world energy forums which concern in the diminishing of fossil fuel and natural gas. Consequently, the US government has attempted to seek a new resource to serve the global energy demand (SHAFIEE, 2009). The natural gas from shale formation, abundant resources in US, has been discovered for a long time but there is no efficient method to extract the natural gas from this formation. Moreover, the route to convey the large amount of shale gas is one of our challenge that must be safe for human and environment, and it should be a low cost technique as well (ARMOR, 2013). Furthermore, the impact of shale gas revolution should be realized in a consequence of local protesters at the drilling sites or people who are directly affected from the extraction projects. Therefore, the aims of this project are to describe the most feasible technique and the future prospects in natural gas from shale formation. Background and Significance In a few decades, global natural gas demand has still sharply grown up every year. The world s crude oil and natural gas reserves are usually the main resources for energy consumptions in our world. Consequently, the total amount of these reserves has been significantly regarded by the leading industrial countries (WANG, 2014). US government, especially, is the first leader who has attempted to seek the new energy resources for the American energy consumption (Fig. 1). Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
