Benetton
Benetton History and Present Structure
When Luciano and Giuliana Benetton, both grown up under the harsh conditions of war and post war
Italy, founded Benetton group in 1965, they probably did never dream that one day their company
would among the most famous in the fashion industry. Yet, 34 years later, Benetton is present in 120
countries and Edizione Holding, the holding company of the family is now making a yearly turnover
of XXX billion Lira[1]. Not at least due to their controversial advertising campaigns which sparked
strong reactions around the world, from outright ban to art awards, Benetton has become known
worldwide.
After the opening their first store in 1968 with a surface ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1992, these activities were bundled in a separate division, called Benetton Sportssystem. The
production of sports equipment was supplemented by the production of sports wear, the aim being to
provide the customer with both the equipment and the clothing, thus realizing synergies from the
existing textile manufacturing facilities[5]. Benetton Sportssystem is the fastest growing division of
Benetton group and it already represent 21,3% of turnover[6]. With 55% of its sales realised in North
America, it is also much less focused on Europe[7].
While Benetton Sportssystem was still in connection with its original business, in the 1990s Benetton
diversified into areas which were rather far from it, like retailing or the restaurant business. The
acquisition of shares in Autogrill, world leader in catering services for travelers, and GS Gruppo,
leader in the Italian food distribution sector, left the Benetton family with 700 supermarkets, 21
hypermarkets and over 650 restaurants, producing a combined turnover of more than 13,000 billion
Lira (more than three times the turnover of the actual Benetton group)[8]. Reasons for this
diversification into areas remote from their core business might be found in the wish to take advantage
of the privatization of national industries presently in progress in Italy and to profit from the

Slide 1 This is what I would use as the icebreaker slide. I would use this slide to open the discussion

well as a brief discussion on what the group thinks each topic is about. This is meant to be a group
discussion to get the group comfortable with the training class and get the brain flowing. The rest of

heredity is definitely a factor in criminal behavior. However, environment is an important as well. A
study called Twins Early Development Study (TEDS) is a longitudinal twin study that is being closely
watched. The study group consists of twins born between 1994 1996 in Wales and England. This study
is researching problems in language development, cognition, and academics in early childhood and
through adolescence. There have been over 13,000 sets of twins that remain in this study. This study
has shown that environment has a considerable amount of influence over behavior problems and/or
disorders (autism spectrum disorder, ADHD). However, antisocial disorder shows more hereditability
traits. The callous unemotional personality is very strongly inherited. Twin Study of Child and
Adolescent Development (TCHAD), is another longitudinal twin study. This study used the Swedish
Twin Registry to collect a study group of 1,226 twins. The study used a behavioral scale to measure
the aggression in 8 9 year olds, reported by their parents. The 8 years later they asked the children to
report on their aggression. This study found that genetics play a large role in the early onset of
aggression in children, yet seems to play a smaller role in the development of delinquent behavior in
male adolescents. Adoption Studies: There

being. Therefore, in order to achieve the positive results which are being offered by these extremely
efficient planets, a person can adopt different gemstones as per their association with their
corresponding planet. Precisely, there are nine gemstones in correspondence with nine planets and
each of them carries special characteristics to offer to the ascendants of their respective planets.
However, in order to reap the advantageous that is being provided by these planets. A person must
know these important facts like which gemstone relates with which planet, what should be the ideal

The 1950 s Cartoon Version Of A Cinderella Story
Everyone has surely heard of some version of a Cinderella story. These stories may be somewhat
different, but overall, all of these stories tend to share certain themes. The themes are shared whether it
be the 1950 s cartoon version of Cinderella or one of the modern movies that shows a Cinderella story.
,A few of the main themes that are shared are love, good versus evil, and wealth. These themes are
present in all of the Cinderella stories and through these stories, the themes also show reality by
creating noticeable similarities in real life through the stories. The themes of love, good versus evil,
and wealth are exactly what they sound like. The theme, love, shows how one falls in love within the
story and that person being Cinderella ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wealth is also a main theme in Cinderella stories; it shows how people do crazy things in order to
have money, nice things, and to be superficial. Most of the women at the ball are mainly there to
marry a Prince most likely so that they may become wealthy and have everything that they have ever
wanted in life. Sometimes this is similar in real life seeing as to how some women try to find rich men
and to marry them by love, but in actuality all they are after are the man s money. It shows also how
people do crazy things for wealth by how the step mother and step sisters react to sensing that
Cinderella would end up with the Prince. They tried to hurt her, physically, emotionally, and mentally.
They also lied and tried to trick people and it just goes to show how money changes people. In real
life, this theme compares to how wealth corrupts people; showing how with the more money people
receive, they usually become even more selfish, and continue to want more and more wealth. It shows
the superficial side of wealth as well seeing as to how within the Cinderella stories show how fake the
step sisters become when trying to manipulate the Prince. They are truly evil, yet make their selves
appear as nice just in order to receive what they want, which is wealth. This is also prevalent in today
s society, because everyday people can fake a smile, look fake, and completely change everything

Anthropology
Anthropology
Anthropology what a vulnerable observer you are! You may well have to jump into the arms of the
scientists if you are going to try to keep your grass hut at the academy! Ruth Behar
Debates on the role the reflexive plague the field of cultural anthropology as postmodern critics join
the bandwagon attempting to claim authority in this dubiously recognized discipline. In the borderline
realm between the sciences and humanities, cultural anthropology has tried to find a niche in which it
can comfortably rest. For many, this has been in building a foundation of the methodical. If
anthropology can classify, categorize, and synthesize, it can assert its legitamacy to the glares of
academia. However, in the attempts to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The anthropologist is not a data classification machine. The anthropologist is a human being with
specific angles, interpretations, and background. Reality is perception. By reading ethnographies, we
are learning from other s perception. The range of approaches is specifically what gives this discipline
it s richness and depth. Johannes Fabian in Remembering the Present: Painting and Popular History,
comments,
Which and whose reality? Once the ethnographer has ceased to think that being in touch with reality
and truth is guaranteed by following the rules of scientific investigation, the outcome of contests and
confrontations cannot be a victory of one kind of knowledge over the other. (p304)
Fabian in this ethnography beautiful depicts his role to give the reader a sense of the dialogue and
exchange.
When two cultures interact, the exchange itself reveals insight. Fabian does not dismiss this in his
ethnography. Like a stone thrown to water, the anthropologist cannot attempt to study the environment
without the acknowledgement of the ripples he/she creates. An example of Fabian s reflexivity is as
follows,
Perhaps Tshibumba sensed my incredibility and imagined the explanations I might come up with. That
is why he made sure I understood what he wanted to accomplish with this painting to create a kind of
presence. (p300)
In this example, Fabian shows the reader how his presence may have an effect on the data. With the
use of the word perhaps , he

Estrogen Case Study
The brain is a major target organ for action of estrogens in both men and women. Estrogen s
neuroactive effects are multifaceted and encompass a system that ranges from the chemical to the
biochemical treatment to the genomic mechanisms, protecting brain against a wide range of
neurotoxic insults. Circulating estradiol enters the cell nucleus where it can bind two types of
receptors, ERα or ERβ. The complexes act as nuclear transcription factors by binding to an ERE
(Estrogen response element) and stimulating gene transcription which leads to increase in cellular
proteins that, by increasing neural transmission function, enhance cognitive function. Estrogen plays
important neurotrophic and neuroprotective roles during adulthood and indirectly ... Show more

Mainly in women by oophorectomy or natural menopause, decrease in ovarian hormonal output have
low concentration of estrogen and progesterone and experience a cognition decline. Estrogens have
several established neural actions that are predicted to contribute its theorized protective role against
cognition decline. These neuroprotective actions fall into three general categories: (1) improved
cognition via regulation of various processes including spine density, long term potentiation, and
neurotransmitter systems, (2) protection against neuron cell death, and (3) inhibition of select aspects
of AD neuropathology including Aβ accumulation and tau hyperphosphorylation. The ability of
estrogens to reduce Aβ accumulation may be their most important neuroprotective action against
cognition decline. As mentioned previously, Aβ formation from APP mediated by two pathways either
amyloid genic or non amyloid genic routes. If the production of low levels of soluble APP alpha by
non amyloid genic route and factors influence amyloid genic processing of APP or a reduction in the
Aβ clearance pathways can lead to accumulation of Aβ, which in turn promotes assembly of the Aβ
peptides into toxic oligomers and large insoluble fibrils that can affect brain neurons. This process can
be prevented by estrogen and following menopause the decline in estrogen may then result in
cognition decline due to the deposit of insoluble Aβ

Should Car Manufactures Be Able For Sell Directly With...
Should Manufactures be able to sell directly to consumers. Anthony GreenBay Eng 1150 06 Professor
C. Meinhardt November 27, 2016 In this paper, I will be addressing a big topic in the automotive
retail today. This topic is should car manufactures be able to sell directly to consumers. In this paper I
also answer questions like why would a manufacturer want to sell directly to consumer and the
potential causes if they were allowed to sell directly to consumers. I also state why this topic is
important to me. Should Car Manufactures like tesla be able to sell directly to consumers? Today if
you wanted to purchase a new vehicle first you research the type of vehicle you are looking for
whether it was a sports car, minivan, or truck. Then you would go to your local dealership and look at
the vehicle you found and maybe look at all the different trims models, you might even take the car
out on a test drive. Finally, you find that the vehicle you have been looking at is what you are looking
for and decide to purchase it. From there you would talk to a sales person at about price, monthly
pavement interest rates and many other things. All of this is possible because of a dealership. But
should car Manufactures be able skip the middle man the dealership to sell directly to consumers.
Currently in the automotive retail world this is a trending topic. Elon musk owner of the all electric car
company tesla is trying to change the way people buy cars

The Assassination of President Lincoln Essay
The Assassination of President Lincoln The assassination of President Lincoln was so tragic because
both Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth both believed they were doing the right thing. Abraham
Lincoln wanted freedom for all because he believed that was right. He knew not everyone agreed and
that was why America was having a Civil War but he felt that it was the right thing to do. John Wilkes
Booth believed that there should be slaves in the south and did not agree with President Lincoln at all.
He believed that everyone really agreed with his way of thinking but they were too scared to stop him.

President Lincoln had a civil war arising, on the early morning of April 12, 1861, that was the morning
when The American Civil War officially began. Fort Sumter, was one of only two forts in the Southern
states that had seceded still under federal jurisdiction, it was brief and ended on April 14, and rebel
Confederate victory.
Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee also believed that what they were fighting for was the right thing.
Ulysses S. Grant, was the commander of the union army, he was fighting for Lincoln s. Robber E. Lee
was a general for the confederate army of Northern Virginia. They were both very good leaders, and
stood for what they believed in. Grant was elected President of the United States; Lee had Lincoln
offer him a job for the general confederate army. So they were both very good hard working men and
would stant up for what they believed in. Their appearance were much different, Grant he was a
sloppy dresser, but for Lee he dressed in a proper uniformed. They became famous and considered one
of the greatest military leaders in United States history.
Beaten down by the Civil War, and the stress of keeping the country together, President Lincoln had a
lot of things on his mind. Lincoln, during the Civil War was going through a lot of problems trying to
free slaves, and trying to keep all Americans happy. During the war he had to deal with the stress of

Shoes For High School
Three years ago, I started my journey to provide shoes for the fifth graders attending the J.B. Sutton
Elementary School. Now, three schools in the same school district were given shoes for their fifth
grade students. However, if an individual would have told the fifteen year old me that one day this
would be happening, I would have laughed because the challenges of providing shoes for one school
were astronomical. It would entail that the shoe committee would need to raise $4,000, measure
around 300 feet, and find a way to deliver all of the shoes to the children. Other challenges that arose
over the years were the schools administration changing frequently and having to explain what our
mission was and why we were providing the shoes. Furthermore, another dilemma was that the fifth
grade students were regularly be absent, suspended, or relocate to a different school district, which
inhibited the team from garnering proper shoe sizes and totals. Another exceedingly oppressing
obstacle our team would face was dealing with a student who was wearing a shoe that was undersized.
For instance, our compassion would compel us to ask why the child wasn t wearing the proper shoe

Athletics And College Athletic Association
Athletics and academics go hand in hand when it comes to college athletes, after all, the NCAA
(National College Athletic Association) states that the players are students first, and athletes second.
Because they are student athletes, obtaining their degree and furthering their education should come
first and foremost; above how many games they win, how many points they score and if the school
wins a National Championship. As many know or have seen, this is not always the case especially
when it comes to Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) Universities and revenue generating
sports (e.g. Men s Basketball and Football). One example of academics taking a back seat to athletics
is the term Academic Clustering , which is defined as 25% or more of players from a team being
enrolled in a single major. Furthermore there are super clusters which is 50% or more of players as
well as mega clusters 75% or more of players are enrolled in a single major (Fountain Finley, 2011, p.
25). Academic clustering is an important topic that requires additional research, as there s limited
research done thus far on the topic. Educators, students and parents should be aware of this issue,
given that when students are clustered into majors that may be deemed easier and/or more
convenient/flexible , they then lose out on a college experience they would enjoy by majoring in
something they are interested in. Furthermore, there is an issue of athletes graduating with degrees that

Critical Analysis Of Allen Ginsberg s Howl
The Beat Generation is a literary movement during the 1950s that consisted of male authors including
the widely known Allen Ginsberg, who explored American culture in their poems. The Beat
Generation could be described as misogynistic and patriarchal due to their exclusion of women and
concerns confined to only male outcasts. In Allen Ginsberg s 1956 Howl , he brings his audience s
attention to male outcasts in society. In her 2015 Howl , a critical response to Ginsberg s Howl , Amy
Newman explores the oppression outcasted women endure in a male dominated culture through the
allusions of an admired female poet, Ginsberg s original stanza form, and utilizing diction to convey a
woman s perspective antithetically to Allen Ginsberg s original.
In Amy Newman s Howl , she alludes to Sylvia Plath, an American female poet, who is acknowledged
for her hardships as a outcasted female in the poetry world due to her oppressive marriage. Newman
illustrates Plath as, [a] star spangled lost in her housebound Eden curse with orchards and a million
gossipy daffodils, writing and nursing and not on the lists... (Newman). In Allen Ginsberg s original
Howl he adverts to male poets he admires of his time, opposingly Newman emulates Ginsberg s
technique and alludes to a feminist iconic poet Sylvia Plath. Newman implements a biblical allusion
referencing The Garden of Eden to depict Plath as a successful female poet who was metaphorically
locked in her household; where a woman s place

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of The Internet
Every one of us living in the twenty first century has used the internet or have at least known about it.
The internet is crucial to our daily lives now, it not just a simple fad that gets forgotten in a week or
two, but a tool that we utilized every day. The number of benefits that comes from the internet is
uncountable, for example with the aid of the internet we now have instantaneous access to work,
entertainment, medical, and countless more. Though that may change with the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai proposing to end net neutrality or also known
as the open internet. Net neutrality was designed to keep the internet, open, fast, free, and safe from
prominent Internet service providers (ISP) companies like Verizon, Comcast, and TimeWarner from
trying to charge more for speed, and specific website access, something that is and should be free from
the beginning. One author of the article Net neutrality: needed or not? states that Net neutrality is
about protecting the status quo that is the open Internet. On many levels, the term open Internet is
redundant. If it weren t open, it wouldn t be the Internet. He is right the internet would not be the same
if everyone did not have equal access because of companies trying to profit. Others, however, are
saying that there is no need for having net neutrality because it is unwanted and hindering the markets
from being able to rise sufficiently. According to the study The end of net

Pros And Cons Of Anarchy
Over the course of human events, philosophers have presented their ideologies about what roles a
government should have as well as what are the functions of that said government. At many times,
these philosophers have clashed in their ideologies however, each philosopher recognizes one possible
state of being; anarchy. Anarchy is a state of disorder in which there is no official form of a systematic
government rule. Philosophers such as Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Mearsheimer, Ikenberry, and Gilpin
all acknowledge and agree that a state of anarchy can exist but they disagree in whether anarchy is
good or bad. Anarchy in a state of nature is conflictual, thus it is a problem. Politics in a state of
anarchy is either conflictual by nature or can lead to prospects for cooperation. Aristotle argue that
anarchy, in a state of nature, is conflictual, and Locke argues that anarchy can lead to cooperation. In
an anarchic society there are no laws, limitations, or regulations and as a result there is chaos which
lead to arguments and disputes. In a systematic government, there is stability and security; you have
someone of a higher status to go to find a solution to your troubles but when you get rid of the
hierarchy people lose that sense of security and stability and as a result are forced to provide these
securities form themselves. From what Aristotle states Hence it is evident that the state is a creation of
nature, and that man is by nature a political animal. And he who by

Sir Robert Peel Review
American policing has been around for years and is extremely likely to be around for hundreds of
generations to come. Very early policing and punishments could include public humiliation and even
torture. Times have changed since the beginnings of police tactics now it is incredibly uncommon to
see public humiliation due to a crime. American policing has changed multiple times over the past
hundred plus years. In most eyes the changes have been for the best of the policing system, trying to
establish a concrete system. The policing system has developed overtime into a professional position,

The police officers that went into the public had to meet certain qualifications. The officer had to act
in a professional manner while in the public. Theses officers were even tempered and did not lash out
quickly with violence physically or verbally. These officers were trained to be a well mannered, in
control of oneself, and respectful officer. After gaining respect of the citizens Sir Robert Peels next
major task was preventing crime and establishing authority.
Preventing crime was the primary purpose for Sir Robert Peel and his associates. In order to prevent
crime the London Metropolitan Police Act needed to be approved by parliament. In 1829 the act was
passed and Sir Robert Peel took advantage of this. This created a full time uniformed police agency
that would patrol the city with the effort of preventing crime from happening. With the public now
respecting officers and officers patrolling the streets that every citizen walked on the police officers
eventually gained a form of authority in the public. This authority came with the training for the job
and the citizens recognizing that the officer is there to help and prevent crime. United States
development of a formal policing agency came from
Sir Robert Peel and what the London Metropolitan Police have become. The law enforcement in the
United States developed in the early years of colonization. The colonies took what the English was
doing and developed their own system

Eassy On Homework
Homework was an essential feature of my own life whilst growing up. If memory serves me correct,
the practice was always considered important and was enforced throughout grade school by both my
teachers and parents. I remember coming home from school in second grade and completing a thick
booklet of blank, squared pages that required me to print my numbers out from 1 1000. I sat at the
kitchen table to complete it, with all seven of my family members conversing around me, as I was a
child that lacked an adequate place to study. Envy invaded my mind as my brothers and sisters played
joyfully around me, making it difficult to remain concentrated; nevertheless, I was forced to sit at the
table until the booklet was completed. Instances such as the one previously mentioned were a regular
occurrence in my youth and negatively impacted my playtime, although my brothers and sisters
eventually joined me at the table to complete their own homework.
Completing homework was a necessity in my household, and failing to do so would result in harsh
consequences. One particular instance of an incomplete homework assignment stands out prominently
in my memory. As I got older, my interests grew, but the amount of homework that I was required to
accomplish gradually increased as well. During my upper level elementary years, I was absolutely
obsessed with the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. In the final month of sixth grade I was assigned
a year end project to complete for English Language Arts. Unfortunately, the assignment became a
conflict of interest for me owing to the fact that the weekend that it was assigned was also the
weekend in which I would be acquiring the new Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book at the
pre release event at midnight.
While at the bookstore with my mother, jumping with excitement might I add, she asked me if I had
any homework to complete over the weekend and explained to me that if I did, the book would have
to wait until summer vacation arrived before I could begin reading it. Upon receiving this information,
I lied to my mother and told her that our teacher did not give any homework during the last week of
school because I did not want the book withheld from me until doing so. The

planet. The study tracks these ancient humans by using the DNA of the modern population in Papua

These analysis discovered prehistoric connection with an unknown hominin cousin as well as a

This study was led by prof Eske Willerslev, at the University of Copenhagen and according to him,

behavior doesn t show any genetic mutations. This study relied on the cave art and other advanced
tools. According to a geneticist at Harvard Medical School who led the analysis of genomes of people
from 142 distinct populations, our genome is carrying the history of our ancestors. Willerslev said that
there hasn t been any type of evidence indicating the magic mutation which have made us humans and
study also notes that the KhoeSan (bushmen) and Mbuti (central African pygmies) populations are
known to have split off earlier from ancient humans, also indicating of no biological change which

Descartes Discourse on Method
Understanding Descartes Method of Doubt
Clear your mind, if you will, of everything you have ever seen or known to be true. To begin
understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments
and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all
thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was
embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute
truth in which he would base his beliefs. Placing upon himself a task to find an axiom or absolute truth
to base all thought, he ventured as a youth in travel to collect a variety in experiences to derive some

He basically states in his meditations that if there is a God, and he is perceived as good, why would he
deceive our thoughts? This brings up the evil deceiver argument. If we can only know that our
existence is real, who is to say that there is not an outside force that makes of the rest of our reality
that we supposedly live? If our dreams are just distorted pieces of our reality and our reality is merely
a show put on by the evil deceiver, we know for certain we cannot base our beliefs on what we see and
the tools unto which we use to perceive it; i.e. extension, hands, and eyes.
Conclusion
Descartes makes it clear that we cannot be certain of anything. The method of doubt brings us to
understand this better by giving a set of guidelines to follow to systematically understand and get
closer to some kind of truth. By trying to find some truth to base all thoughts on, Descartes tried to
find an absolute truth by coming to the realization that nothing he believed was of any truth. Although
not finding much truth in his journeys, he found a systematic way to come closer to finding truth.
Descartes was presented with a problem of not knowing anything, and by creating the method of
doubt he came closer to finding the truth.

Plot and Literary Style Must Interact in an Effective Way
Both the plot and literary style are elements that are unique to each author and his or her works. If
these interact in an effective way, the reader will be able to fully understand both the story line and the
message that the author is trying to communicate in the piece. Both Blindness by José Saramago and
The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster are novels in which the literary style used enhances the plot of
the story. Similarly, the storyline justifies the reasons behind the use of that author s particular style.
Saramago s style of writing reinforces the plot because it represents and explains the events and
psychological struggles endured by each individual in the novel. In Blindness, the narrator does not
reveal the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This goes along with the plot of the novel since it shows the reader how the characters feel being
unaware of who is talking and what they look like. Additionally, the use of language by the author
plays an important role in developing the storyline of the novel. The narrator employs language that is
formal, descriptive, and objective. The use of detailed descriptions, often in events that people are not
accustomed to openly discuss, provides the reader a much better understanding of what the characters
have to struggle with during their blindness. When the doctor goes to the bathroom, the narrator
describes how he takes down his trousers , steps on soft pulp and then [tries] to clean himself . The use
of very descriptive language allows the reader to grasp the challenges the individuals go through. The
style used by the Saramago in Blindness reinforces the plot by emphasizing the challenges and the
situations that the blind people go through in the novel, as well as giving life to the storyline itself.
Analogous to the literary style presented by Saramago, the plot is able to justify use and enhance the
features presented by it. The plot of Blindness justifies the use of a specific literary style to get a better
understanding of the actions and the struggle for existence underwent by each individual. At the
beginning of the novel, the narrator starts out describing a typical

between mild pornorgraphy, which portrays the nude form and sexual activities, and violent
pornography, which depicts extremely violent activities in a sexual manner. When discussing
pornography, people often assume Atwood is referring to mild pornography; however, even though
this pornography is considered mild by Atwood, the reactions and perspectives from people are rarely
mild. The passionate accusations declaring opposing sides prudish or perverted lead to the question of

Booker Palmer And The Legend Of Bagger Vance
Parker Palmer and the Legend of Bagger Vance both connect with one another to better further our
understanding of the vocational method. Palmer s definition of vocation contains three key
components to it. These components are; who am I? Whose am I? and distractions to our vocation.
These three components help us to go deeper into trying to find our vocation and our understanding of
what vocation is. These same three components are located in the Legend of the Bagger Vance. The
Legend of Bagger Vance connects these three themes together with its own definitions and
descriptions of what they are in order to better shine a light on vocation and delve deeper into what
vocation is to each of us. Both Parker Palmer and the Legend of Bagger ... Show more content on

All we got to do is get ourselves out of its way, to let it choose us (The Legend of Bagger Vance).
Bagger in this is illustrating that our authentic swing is what we are born with, our original selfhood
who we are called to be, and is unique to you only. Bagger stresses this once again by saying, Now
play the game. Your game. The one that only you was meant to play. The one given to you when you
was born (The Legend of Bagger Vance). Bagger is ultimately stresses the same points that Parker
Palmer is. Both Palmer and Bagger and saying that we have an original selfhood we were born with
and area called to find and become, and this is unique to the individual alone no one else. Both these
ideas coincide with one another to help illustrate the idea of Who Am I in the vocational method.
The Legend of Bagger Vance and Palmer both illustrate the aspect of whose am I? Palmer describes
the theme of whose am I as an idea of relationships and how our relationshops affect our vocation.
Palmer illustrates this when he says, For there is no selfhood outside relationship (Palmer). We cannot
become our true self without understanding our relationships. We need relationships to help us find
out more of who we are as well as we need this relationships to sometimes help to guide us and grow
us. This same idea of relationships is illustrated throughout the Legend of Bagger Vance. This example

The Oldest Trade Prostitution Essay
Prostitution: The Oldest Trade
An Economic and Health Problem Prostitution by definition is described as sexual intercourse in
exchange for remuneration (Bhunu,C.P, Mushayabasa,S.S, 2012). Prostitution has a variety of forms:
Brothels, escorts, prostitution and street prostitution. Brothels are established buildings specifically
dedicated to prostitution; escort services can take place at the payer s residence or hotel room, and
street prostitution is usually seen in urban areas on street corners. Women involved in prostitution are
a cause for concern from both public health and economic perspectives (Murphy, 2010). The
promiscuity involved in the life of prostitution creates a high risk population for contractive sexually

The act of selling one s body for money is degrading. For radical feminism, prostitution is defined as
male domination, exploitation, and violence against women whether entered into voluntarily or not,
whether legal or illegal. As the most prominent radical feminist organization, the Coalition Against
Trafficking in Women, proclaims on its website, All prostitution exploits women, regardless of women
s consent (Weitzer, 2006). Prostitution is one of the more widely known and condemned forms of
sexual deviance (Goode, 2011). Prostitution touches all women, rationalizes the sale of any woman,
and condenses all women to sex.
In the area of public health, prostitution may play a decisive factor in the spread of STDs to third
parties. One should not reduce adverse health effects in prostitution to STDs (Adriaenssens, S.,
Hendrickx, J, 2012). Sexually transmitted diseases are without a doubt a significant part of the health
risks for the sex industry. Health and prostitution is often associated with dangerous sexual practices.
We consider interactions to be unsafe when they have a significantly higher risk of leading to an
infection with a STD with adverse consequences for the quality of life of the person infected
(Adriaenssens, S., Hendrickx, J, 2012). Studies show that a decline in sexually transmitted diseases
occurs when condom

Everything That Makes You Hero s Journey
Determining The Most Pivotal Stage Of The Hero s Journey In Everything That Makes You.
Everything That Makes You is an enticing story. Determining the most important stage of the journey
is very tough since each part of the story contributes to the plot immensely. In the end, I decided the
one most important stage is Crossing The First Threshold when Fiona gets her face renewed and her
scars erased. To understand why this stage is the most important, it would be beneficial to know when
this stage takes place. When Fiona is just about to start her surgical operation, there is some kind of a
climactic wait, which gives Fiona some time to explain the unease she has with her situation; The

Evaluation Of Why Tough Teachers Get Good Results
Evaluation of Why Tough Teachers Get Good Results by Joanne Lipman is a well supported article.
Mrs. Lipman gives good insight to tough teachers getting good results from their students by using her
experience with her music teacher Mr. Kupchynsky. She provides many references to case studies
performed on students in classrooms by doctors and graduate students to support her point. Mrs.
Lipman explains that her Mr. Kupchynsky was a strict teacher, but because of his strictness when he
passed away all of his past students that came to pay their respects were all successful people in life
some were doctors and lawyers. Mrs. Lipman then continues to use her personal story to explain some
of the conceptions of present day educators and how they are false. She uses eleven ways to prove that
today s educational system as become soft on present day children. The fear, of course, is that failure
will traumatize our kids, sapping their self esteem. Wrong again. A 2006 study, a Bowling Green State
University graduate student followed 31 Ohio band students who were required to audition for
placement and found that even students who placed lowest did not decrease in their motivation and
self esteem in the long term. The study concluded that educators need not be as concerned about the
negative effects of picking winners and losers (Lipman). I really enjoyed reading this article, it really
did open my eyes to how the world of education has changed but the old ways of teaching

How has the company chosen to improve its knowledge of customers and therefore its decision
making? Analyze the management, organization, and technology dimensions of the solution.
HSBC, as with other banks, took advantage of many poor consumers looking to own their own home.
These consumers had low credit scores, are in default or have low income, which means there was a
higher probability of them not paying back the loan. These banks took advantage by not explaining the
entire process of how the amount will double and the interest rate will become adjustable after a
couple years. This led to many subprime mortgage loan holders to not meet payments and ... Show

When you have lenders not collecting the right information on consumers to help predict if they are
able to pay the loan or not and not explaining the loan correctly to consumers, it causes conflicts.
Consumers did not really understand the loans; they just knew they would become homeowners.
Subprime loans are the worst, to me. Who wants to pay back 10 times what their home is actually
worth? The new Experian Scorex software will provide great value to HSBC s strategy management.
This new system will collect information and will help HSBC in their credit decisions. George
Lennox, Senior Manager, Group Credit and Risk at HSBC: As one of the world s leading financial
organizations, it is important to us that we make use of leading edge decision support technology.
(Experian) By implementing this new technology, HSBC will better assist their new and existing
customers.

Public Relations Between Organizations And Their Publics
When the term public relations are heard, there is not an immediate understanding of the career, let
alone its writings. The lines of the responsibilities of a public relations professional are often blurred
and confused. However, the Public Relations Society of America composed a specific definition to
help with the confusion: public relations are a strategic communication process that builds mutually
beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics ( About Public Relations ). Breaking
down the definition a bit shows exactly what public relations is about mutually beneficial relationships
( About Public Relations ). Professionals work to create and maintain various relationships, whether it
be with journalists or clients, that will yield positive results for all parties involved. In an interview,
Vallerie, who works in public relations, revealed she interacts with upwards of 20 different people
daily (Mackillop). Publics are generally thought of as the general public population; this is true to an
extent for public relations. A public is anyone who ever has or ever will form an opinion about the
client (Roost). This means that it is possible to have more than one public that a professional is dealing
with for their work.
Public relations are unlike other means of publicity, such as advertising and marketing. However,
companies tend to push public relations to the side to focus more on those methods. Public relations
are earned exposure, while

Comparing Cosmogirl and Cosmopolitan Essay
Comparing Cosmogirl and Cosmopolitan
A comparison between Cosmogirl and Cosmopolitan . Two successful magazines. One woman s and
one teenage.
Would you read the same magazines as your daughter? Would you expect the contents in a magazine
aimed at women to be diversely different from a magazine aimed at teenagers?
I think that because teenagers are at very different stages of their lives to adults and therefore have
different concerns, issues and perspectives on life, they should have separate influences such as
magazines. Magazines portray a fantasy lifestyle for many people and so they are attracted to, and
influenced by, them.
I am going to investigate the differences and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Cosmo part of the title is in the same font as Cosmopolitan . This links it to the successful, well
loved, parent magazine. This automatically gives it credibility and attracts younger audiences who
want to be like the women in Cosmopolitan when they grow up. The girl part in the title obviously
suggests the target audience and the fact that it differs from Cosmopolitan . It could also appeal to a
younger audience because Cosmopolitan is abbreviated to Cosmo for this title and abbreviating words
is a trend amongst young people.
Secondly I am going to look at the next thing you would see after the title, the models. Both models
on Cosmopolitan and Cosmogirl are female because the audience is female and want a magazine that
can tell them how to look and act and the models are examples. They are around the expected age of
the readers and are maybe what the magazines editors picture as their ideal reader. They reflect what
the magazine stands for and the position of that age group at the time. For example, a magazine aimed
at eleven to twelve year olds would have a younger model on the cover and it would be girlier than a
magazine aimed at teenagers aged fifteen to seventeen.
In the case of my magazines the cover girls are very attractive but in different ways. The model for
Cosmopolitan is aged around twenty whereas the model for

Benetton Benetton History and Present Structure When Luciano and Giuliana Benetton, both grown up under the harsh conditions of war and post war Italy, founded Benetton group in 1965, they probably did never dream that one day their company would among the most famous in the fashion industry. Yet, 34 years later, Benetton is present in 120 countries and Edizione Holding, the holding company of the family is now making a yearly turnover of XXX billion Lira[1]. Not at least due to their controversial advertising campaigns which sparked strong reactions around the world, from outright ban to art awards, Benetton has become known worldwide. The production of sports equipment was supplemented by the production of sports wear, the aim being to provide the customer with both the equipment and the clothing, thus realizing synergies from the existing textile manufacturing facilities[5]. Benetton Sportssystem is the fastest growing division of Benetton group and it already represent 21,3% of turnover[6]. With 55% of its sales realised in North America, it is also much less focused on Europe[7]. While Benetton Sportssystem was still in connection with its original business, in the 1990s Benetton diversified into areas which were rather far from it, like retailing or the restaurant business. The acquisition of shares in Autogrill, world leader in catering services for travelers, and GS Gruppo, leader in the Italian food distribution sector, left the Benetton family with 700 supermarkets, 21 hypermarkets and over 650 restaurants, producing a combined turnover of more than 13,000 billion Lira (more than three times the turnover of the actual Benetton group)[8]. Reasons for this diversification into areas remote from their core business might be found in the wish to take advantage of the privatization of national industries presently in progress in Italy and to profit from the ... A study called Twins Early Development Study (TEDS) is a longitudinal twin study that is being closely watched. The study group consists of twins born between 1994 1996 in Wales and England. This study is researching problems in language development, cognition, and academics in early childhood and through adolescence. There have been over 13,000 sets of twins that remain in this study. This study has shown that environment has a considerable amount of influence over behavior problems and/or disorders (autism spectrum disorder, ADHD). However, antisocial disorder shows more hereditability traits. The callous unemotional personality is very strongly inherited. Twin Study of Child and Adolescent Development (TCHAD), is another longitudinal twin study. This study used the Swedish Twin Registry to collect a study group of 1,226 twins. The study used a behavioral scale to measure the aggression in 8 9 year olds, reported by their parents. The 8 years later they asked the children to report on their aggression. This study found that genetics play a large role in the early onset of aggression in children, yet seems to play a smaller role in the development of delinquent behavior in male adolescents. The themes are shared whether it be the 1950 s cartoon version of Cinderella or one of the modern movies that shows a Cinderella story. ,A few of the main themes that are shared are love, good versus evil, and wealth. These themes are present in all of the Cinderella stories and through these stories, the themes also show reality by creating noticeable similarities in real life through the stories. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wealth is also a main theme in Cinderella stories; it shows how people do crazy things in order to have money, nice things, and to be superficial. Most of the women at the ball are mainly there to marry a Prince most likely so that they may become wealthy and have everything that they have ever wanted in life. Sometimes this is similar in real life seeing as to how some women try to find rich men and to marry them by love, but in actuality all they are after are the man s money. It shows also how people do crazy things for wealth by how the step mother and step sisters react to sensing that Cinderella would end up with the Prince. They tried to hurt her, physically, emotionally, and mentally. They also lied and tried to trick people and it just goes to show how money changes people. In real life, this theme compares to how wealth corrupts people; showing how with the more money people receive, they usually become even more selfish, and continue to want more and more wealth. It shows the superficial side of wealth as well seeing as to how within the Cinderella stories show how fake the step sisters become when trying to manipulate the Prince. They are truly evil, yet make their selves appear as nice just in order to receive what they want, which is wealth. This is also prevalent in today s society, because everyday people can fake a smile, look fake, and completely change everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You may well have to jump into the arms of the scientists if you are going to try to keep your grass hut at the academy! Ruth Behar Debates on the role the reflexive plague the field of cultural anthropology as postmodern critics join the bandwagon attempting to claim authority in this dubiously recognized discipline. In the borderline realm between the sciences and humanities, cultural anthropology has tried to find a niche in which it can comfortably rest. For many, this has been in building a foundation of the methodical. If anthropology can classify, categorize, and synthesize, it can assert its legitamacy to the glares of academia. The anthropologist is a human being with specific angles, interpretations, and background. Reality is perception. By reading ethnographies, we are learning from other s perception. The range of approaches is specifically what gives this discipline it s richness and depth. Johannes Fabian in Remembering the Present: Painting and Popular History, comments, Which and whose reality? Once the ethnographer has ceased to think that being in touch with reality and truth is guaranteed by following the rules of scientific investigation, the outcome of contests and confrontations cannot be a victory of one kind of knowledge over the other. (p304) Fabian in this ethnography beautiful depicts his role to give the reader a sense of the dialogue and exchange. When two cultures interact, the exchange itself reveals insight. Fabian does not dismiss this in his ethnography. Like a stone thrown to water, the anthropologist cannot attempt to study the environment without the acknowledgement of the ripples he/she creates. An example of Fabian s reflexivity is as follows, Perhaps Tshibumba sensed my incredibility and imagined the explanations I might come up with. Estrogen s neuroactive effects are multifaceted and encompass a system that ranges from the chemical to the biochemical treatment to the genomic mechanisms, protecting brain against a wide range of neurotoxic insults. Circulating estradiol enters the cell nucleus where it can bind two types of receptors, ERα or ERβ. The complexes act as nuclear transcription factors by binding to an ERE (Estrogen response element) and stimulating gene transcription which leads to increase in cellular proteins that, by increasing neural transmission function, enhance cognitive function. Mainly in women by oophorectomy or natural menopause, decrease in ovarian hormonal output have low concentration of estrogen and progesterone and experience a cognition decline. Estrogens have several established neural actions that are predicted to contribute its theorized protective role against cognition decline. These neuroprotective actions fall into three general categories: (1) improved cognition via regulation of various processes including spine density, long term potentiation, and neurotransmitter systems, (2) protection against neuron cell death, and (3) inhibition of select aspects of AD neuropathology including Aβ accumulation and tau hyperphosphorylation. The ability of estrogens to reduce Aβ accumulation may be their most important neuroprotective action against cognition decline. As mentioned previously, Aβ formation from APP mediated by two pathways either amyloid genic or non amyloid genic routes. If the production of low levels of soluble APP alpha by non amyloid genic route and factors influence amyloid genic processing of APP or a reduction in the Aβ clearance pathways can lead to accumulation of Aβ, which in turn promotes assembly of the Aβ peptides into toxic oligomers and large insoluble fibrils that can affect brain neurons. This process can be prevented by estrogen and following menopause the decline in estrogen may then result in cognition decline due to the deposit of insoluble Aβ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meinhardt November 27, 2016 In this paper, I will be addressing a big topic in the automotive retail today. This topic is should car manufactures be able to sell directly to consumers. In this paper I also answer questions like why would a manufacturer want to sell directly to consumer and the potential causes if they were allowed to sell directly to consumers. I also state why this topic is important to me. Should Car Manufactures like tesla be able to sell directly to consumers? Today if you wanted to purchase a new vehicle first you research the type of vehicle you are looking for whether it was a sports car, minivan, or truck. Then you would go to your local dealership and look at the vehicle you found and maybe look at all the different trims models, you might even take the car out on a test drive. Finally, you find that the vehicle you have been looking at is what you are looking for and decide to purchase it. From there you would talk to a sales person at about price, monthly pavement interest rates and many other things. All of this is possible because of a dealership. But should car Manufactures be able skip the middle man the dealership to sell directly to consumers. Currently in the automotive retail world this is a trending topic. John Wilkes Booth believed that there should be slaves in the south and did not agree with President Lincoln at all. Fort Sumter, was one of only two forts in the Southern states that had seceded still under federal jurisdiction, it was brief and ended on April 14, and rebel Confederate victory. Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee also believed that what they were fighting for was the right thing. Ulysses S. Grant, was the commander of the union army, he was fighting for Lincoln s. Robber E. Lee was a general for the confederate army of Northern Virginia. They were both very good leaders, and stood for what they believed in. Grant was elected President of the United States; Lee had Lincoln offer him a job for the general confederate army. So they were both very good hard working men and would stant up for what they believed in. Their appearance were much different, Grant he was a sloppy dresser, but for Lee he dressed in a proper uniformed. They became famous and considered one of the greatest military leaders in United States history. • 14. Shoes For High School Three years ago, I started my journey to provide shoes for the fifth graders attending the J.B. Sutton Elementary School. Now, three schools in the same school district were given shoes for their fifth grade students. However, if an individual would have told the fifteen year old me that one day this would be happening, I would have laughed because the challenges of providing shoes for one school were astronomical. It would entail that the shoe committee would need to raise $4,000, measure around 300 feet, and find a way to deliver all of the shoes to the children. Other challenges that arose over the years were the schools administration changing frequently and having to explain what our mission was and why we were providing the shoes. Furthermore, another dilemma was that the fifth grade students were regularly be absent, suspended, or relocate to a different school district, which inhibited the team from garnering proper shoe sizes and totals. Another exceedingly oppressing obstacle our team would face was dealing with a student who was wearing a shoe that was undersized. For instance, our compassion would compel us to ask why the child wasn t wearing the proper shoe size and they would answer with chagrin because it would be due to their parents not being able to buy them a ... • 15. Athletics And College Athletic Association Athletics and academics go hand in hand when it comes to college athletes, after all, the NCAA (National College Athletic Association) states that the players are students first, and athletes second. Because they are student athletes, obtaining their degree and furthering their education should come first and foremost; above how many games they win, how many points they score and if the school wins a National Championship. As many know or have seen, this is not always the case especially when it comes to Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) Universities and revenue generating sports (e.g. Men s Basketball and Football). One example of academics taking a back seat to athletics is the term Academic Clustering , which is defined as 25% or more of players from a team being enrolled in a single major. Furthermore there are super clusters which is 50% or more of players as well as mega clusters 75% or more of players are enrolled in a single major (Fountain Finley, 2011, p. 25). Academic clustering is an important topic that requires additional research, as there s limited research done thus far on the topic. Educators, students and parents should be aware of this issue, given that when students are clustered into majors that may be deemed easier and/or more convenient/flexible , they then lose out on a college experience they would enjoy by majoring in something they are interested in. Furthermore, there is an issue of athletes graduating with degrees that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Critical Analysis Of Allen Ginsberg s Howl The Beat Generation is a literary movement during the 1950s that consisted of male authors including the widely known Allen Ginsberg, who explored American culture in their poems. The Beat Generation could be described as misogynistic and patriarchal due to their exclusion of women and concerns confined to only male outcasts. In Allen Ginsberg s 1956 Howl , he brings his audience s attention to male outcasts in society. In her 2015 Howl , a critical response to Ginsberg s Howl , Amy Newman explores the oppression outcasted women endure in a male dominated culture through the allusions of an admired female poet, Ginsberg s original stanza form, and utilizing diction to convey a woman s perspective antithetically to Allen Ginsberg s original. In Amy Newman s Howl , she alludes to Sylvia Plath, an American female poet, who is acknowledged for her hardships as a outcasted female in the poetry world due to her oppressive marriage. Newman illustrates Plath as, [a] star spangled lost in her housebound Eden curse with orchards and a million gossipy daffodils, writing and nursing and not on the lists... (Newman). In Allen Ginsberg s original Howl he adverts to male poets he admires of his time, opposingly Newman emulates Ginsberg s technique and alludes to a feminist iconic poet Sylvia Plath. The internet is crucial to our daily lives now, it not just a simple fad that gets forgotten in a week or two, but a tool that we utilized every day. The number of benefits that comes from the internet is uncountable, for example with the aid of the internet we now have instantaneous access to work, entertainment, medical, and countless more. Though that may change with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai proposing to end net neutrality or also known as the open internet. Net neutrality was designed to keep the internet, open, fast, free, and safe from prominent Internet service providers (ISP) companies like Verizon, Comcast, and TimeWarner from trying to charge more for speed, and specific website access, something that is and should be free from the beginning. One author of the article Net neutrality: needed or not? states that Net neutrality is about protecting the status quo that is the open Internet. On many levels, the term open Internet is redundant. If it weren t open, it wouldn t be the Internet. He is right the internet would not be the same if everyone did not have equal access because of companies trying to profit. Others, however, are saying that there is no need for having net neutrality because it is unwanted and hindering the markets from being able to rise sufficiently. • 18. Pros And Cons Of Anarchy Over the course of human events, philosophers have presented their ideologies about what roles a government should have as well as what are the functions of that said government. At many times, these philosophers have clashed in their ideologies however, each philosopher recognizes one possible state of being; anarchy. Anarchy is a state of disorder in which there is no official form of a systematic government rule. Philosophers such as Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Mearsheimer, Ikenberry, and Gilpin all acknowledge and agree that a state of anarchy can exist but they disagree in whether anarchy is good or bad. Anarchy in a state of nature is conflictual, thus it is a problem. Politics in a state of anarchy is either conflictual by nature or can lead to prospects for cooperation. Aristotle argue that anarchy, in a state of nature, is conflictual, and Locke argues that anarchy can lead to cooperation. In an anarchic society there are no laws, limitations, or regulations and as a result there is chaos which lead to arguments and disputes. In a systematic government, there is stability and security; you have someone of a higher status to go to find a solution to your troubles but when you get rid of the hierarchy people lose that sense of security and stability and as a result are forced to provide these securities form themselves. After gaining respect of the citizens Sir Robert Peels next major task was preventing crime and establishing authority. Preventing crime was the primary purpose for Sir Robert Peel and his associates. In order to prevent crime the London Metropolitan Police Act needed to be approved by parliament. In 1829 the act was passed and Sir Robert Peel took advantage of this. This created a full time uniformed police agency that would patrol the city with the effort of preventing crime from happening. With the public now respecting officers and officers patrolling the streets that every citizen walked on the police officers eventually gained a form of authority in the public. • 20. Eassy On Homework Homework was an essential feature of my own life whilst growing up. If memory serves me correct, the practice was always considered important and was enforced throughout grade school by both my teachers and parents. I remember coming home from school in second grade and completing a thick booklet of blank, squared pages that required me to print my numbers out from 1 1000. I sat at the kitchen table to complete it, with all seven of my family members conversing around me, as I was a child that lacked an adequate place to study. Envy invaded my mind as my brothers and sisters played joyfully around me, making it difficult to remain concentrated; nevertheless, I was forced to sit at the table until the booklet was completed. Instances such as the one previously mentioned were a regular occurrence in my youth and negatively impacted my playtime, although my brothers and sisters eventually joined me at the table to complete their own homework. Completing homework was a necessity in my household, and failing to do so would result in harsh consequences. One particular instance of an incomplete homework assignment stands out prominently in my memory. As I got older, my interests grew, but the amount of homework that I was required to accomplish gradually increased as well. During my upper level elementary years, I was absolutely obsessed with the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. In the final month of sixth grade I was assigned a year end project to complete for English Language Arts. Unfortunately, the assignment became a conflict of interest for me owing to the fact that the weekend that it was assigned was also the weekend in which I would be acquiring the new Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book at the pre release event at midnight. While at the bookstore with my mother, jumping with excitement might I add, she asked me if I had any homework to complete over the weekend and explained to me that if I did, the book would have to wait until summer vacation arrived before I could begin reading it. Upon receiving this information, I lied to my mother and told her that our teacher did not give any homework during the last week of school because I did not want the book withheld from me until doing so. To begin understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute truth in which he would base his beliefs. Placing upon himself a task to find an axiom or absolute truth to base all thought, he ventured as a youth in travel to collect a variety in experiences to derive some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He basically states in his meditations that if there is a God, and he is perceived as good, why would he deceive our thoughts? This brings up the evil deceiver argument. If we can only know that our existence is real, who is to say that there is not an outside force that makes of the rest of our reality that we supposedly live? If our dreams are just distorted pieces of our reality and our reality is merely a show put on by the evil deceiver, we know for certain we cannot base our beliefs on what we see and the tools unto which we use to perceive it; i.e. extension, hands, and eyes. Conclusion Descartes makes it clear that we cannot be certain of anything. The method of doubt brings us to understand this better by giving a set of guidelines to follow to systematically understand and get closer to some kind of truth. By trying to find some truth to base all thoughts on, Descartes tried to find an absolute truth by coming to the realization that nothing he believed was of any truth. Although not finding much truth in his journeys, he found a systematic way to come closer to finding truth. Descartes was presented with a problem of not knowing anything, and by creating the method of doubt he came closer to finding the truth. Works Cited Page Durant, Will Ariel. (1961). If these interact in an effective way, the reader will be able to fully understand both the story line and the message that the author is trying to communicate in the piece.
