The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich...
The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that
occurred mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that
seemed so straight forward many years past finds itself a new meaning within the
greater context of the period. The same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45
years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of
1972.
This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the
time period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event
that has been dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of
the Jordanians placed against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a
militant Palestinian group and PFLP, another radical group, jointly created a terror group
named after the conflict. The Black September Organization attempted to force revenge
on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had occupied their lands in
Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an act of
revenge (Smith).
However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it
is today. In both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and
horror. The Secretary General of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its
own, one that was terrible, it was made worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic

Natural Gas During The Middle East And Other Opec
Members
Introduction James Buchan, renowned journalist and political pundit, stated in a 2006
edition of the New Statesman, A century ago, petroleum what we call oil was just an
obscure commodity; today it is almost as vital to human existence as water. Had Mr.
Buchan been writing this article today, it is likely that he would argue oil is more vital
to human existence than water. There is no denying the human dependence on oil,
relying on it to provide us light and heat, power our machines, and transport us
throughout the globe. Almost forty years ago much of the western discourse on oil was
dedicated to forecasting the future of oil, making predictions on where it would come
from, who would control it, and how much it would cost.... Show more content on

Tensions between Israel and Gaza, the turbulent political make up in Syria, and the deep
rooted dispute between Turkey and Cyprus were initial challenges that have only
intensified with continued resource discoveries. These political constraints have
profound implications on commercial prospects for the natural gas considering they have
delayed or completely called off bidding rounds for petroleum companies. The purpose
of this paper is to provide an analytical report on the economic realities of the natural
resource findings in the Eastern Mediterranean region. It will focus on the parties
involved including state and non state actors. It will probe the potential opportunities
for extraction, looking specifically at the possibility of monetizing the resources for all
players. Finally, it will assess the challenges needed to overcome in order to make any
option a viable one.
Assessment of Reserves by Country The United States Geological Survey estimated
that the Levantine Basin exceeds 3455 Billion cubic meters (Bcm) in natural gas
resources. With the recent discoveries off the coast of Cyprus and Israel, the total
estimated reserves have skyrocketed. As of 2013, the discoveries for each nation are as
follows:

By 2013, the two major Israeli discoveries consisted of the Leviathan and Tamar gas

The Music Industry Became Aware Of Napster After John...
In June of 1999 Shawn Fanning, John Fanning, and Sean Parker created an
independent peer to peer file sharing website called Napster, Named after John
Fanning s high school nickname. A peer to peer (P2P) service allows access to media
files like movies, music, books and games by using a certain program that connects to
other computers on the same network, meaning that when someone downloaded a file it
was coming directly from another person s computer. The website was specifically
designed to transfer MP3 files with a search engine dedicated to retrieving MP3 files
only, and a chat service which allowed users to communicate with each other while using
this system (Tyson). At its prime, Napsterwas home to about 80 million users (Gowan).
The issue with Napster was that it wasn t properly licensed to distribute the files and it
allowed its users unlimited free access to other individual s intellectual property without
their consent. The music industry became aware of Napster when the heavy metal
band, Metallica discovered that an unreleased version of one of their songs was circling
the internet. Metallica sued Napster, providing evidence that over 300 thousand people
had exchanged their work without the approval of the band or the record label, and that
Napster contributed to their infringements (Vaver). Napster s main defense against the
lawsuit was the Audio Home Recording Act of 1992. What this law does is allow
anyone who has legally purchased a CD or cassette the
The Merger Between United and Continental Airline
Introduction
As I was thinking about the two companies that I wanted to do for my course project on,
I began to research companies on the internet and I ran across the merger between United
and Continental airlines. The reason that I choose to do the merger is because I knew
that they were going to go through many changes within this merger. Both airline
companies have a lot to offer to each other with this merger that they can compete with
Delta airlines one of the largest airline in the world. This merger will bring about several
changes within both companies. In this paper I will be providing the different changes
between both companies with the merger including the culture, systems and unions.
Since they were two different companies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reservation agents at United are a having a difficult time with Continentals system
although they have gone through an excessive amount of training for the system they are
still having a hard time mastering it. Although the systems of United airlines have been
converted into Continental there were an big issue as to were United was not able to
print out boarding passes for their customer. They were very quick in thinking they
printed out the boarding passes manual in order to service their customer. They also
contracted their customer who had mileage plus to inform them of the issue at hand.(
United airlines issues, 2012)
Union Changes 2
The last change is the differences in the unions. Both airlines have different unions for
their employees. United pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants are under AFA,
maintenance is under IBT, mechanics are under IBT, ramp is under IAM, dispatcher are
under PAFCA, engineers are under IFPTE, pubic contract employee are under IAM.
Continental pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants are under IAM, maintenance is
under IBT, and ramp is under IBT. As you can see some of the unions are the same for
both airlines, however the pilots have reached an agreement and both under the ALFA
union. They CEO will have to work hard at getting both companies under the same
unions other wise they would not be united as one Airline
Essay about Farmington Industries
Farmington Industries
Case Write Up
Farmington Industries is a small, publicly traded U.S. based corporation, which produces
programmable control instruments. With high interests in Mexico, the company has
expanded to four Mexican related businesses, which are listed below along with their
specific function:
The Maquiladora Assembly Facility This facility is used to assemble imported U.S.
manufactured components into final products for sale mainly in the U.S. Seeing as the
majority of sales occur in the U.S., this facility generates its revenues in USD.
Farmington (Antilles) N.V. This facility is an offshore shell corporation by which the
U.S. parent exports U.S. manufactured products to Mexico and other countries. ... Show

The devaluation of this currency leads to lower costs for the subsidiary, in relation to
wages, since the peso has depreciated against the USD during this time period. The
facility can purchase Mexican pesos with their USD profits at increasingly appealing
exchange rates, and then use these pesos to finance new operations. By doing so, this
shows the positive effect of the devaluation of the peso for the Maquiladora Assembly
Facility.
On the other hand, the peso devaluation will not have that much of a positive effect on
Farmington (Antilles) N.V. as the peso depreciates relative to the USD. The result is
the subsidiary being negatively impacted as the USD/peso exchange rate is rising, as
they convert revenue earned in pesos to USD to deposit into U.S. bank accounts. This
facility had almost 4 million MXN receivables at the end of the year. The 1994
average exchange rate is 3.5 MXN/USD, where these 4 million MXNs would equate
to approximately 1.14 million USD. When the exchange rate values the devalued peso
at 5.0 MXN/USD, these 4 million MXNs are only equal to 0.80 million USDs, showing
a loss of more than 300,000 USDs. When the exchange rate changes from 4.0 to 5.0
MXN/USD, we can see the loss the company would experience, and thus the negative
impact on this facility.
Farmington Industries was not very well prepared for the December 20, 1994
devaluation. Farmington Industries business model creates a hedge by billing the
majority of their transactions
How To Criminalize Money Laundering
Congress crafted a broad statute designed to criminalize the actions of anyone who
knowingly participated in an illicit transaction, regardless of its magnitude or dollar
value. Although the current money laundering statute is broad and general, there is
widespread agreement that it does not criminalize the mere act of spending money
generated by the illegal criminal activity. This helps hold the accountability for
individuals engaged in criminal activity. Spending money by making a purchase or
entering into a transaction is not necessarily a crime, even if the party spending the
illegally gained money knows that the money came from illegal activities. Rather, in
order to run afoul of the law, there must be direct or circumstantial evidence
Children At Risk For Late Onset Diseases
Many parents claim that they should have the right to have their children tested for any
late onset diseases if that child is at risk. The professional consensus of most medical
professionals (Kopelman), do not agree and claim that testing children for late onset
diseases not only affects the child in a negative manner, but also negatively influences
the parents relationship with that specific child (Davis). I argue that children at risk for
late onset disorders, such as Huntington s or Alzheimer s disease, should not be tested for
such genetic markers at the request of their parents. The decision to test a child for a
late onset disease restricts the child s right to an open future (Davis). These diseases
will affect that child as an adult and, as an adult, the child should have the right to
choose for themselves whether they want to be tested or not. Not only does testing
children for late onset diseases restrict the child s future, but it also leaves a significant
impact on the child to parent relationship which is vital for development throughout the
early stages of life (Davis). Oftentimes, the parents find themselves treating a diseased or
affected child with more care and precaution in comparison to their other children
(Kopelman), as if the diseased child is fragile.
However, parents who claim late onset disease testing for their children should be an
option also have strong objections to this professional consensus. Objections include the
idea that the
Heart Of Darkness Enlightenment Essay
Characters in a novel are normally not just static. They develop in myriad ways ranging
from intelligence to physical characteristics. Charles Marlow from Heart of Darkness is
one of these types of characters. Marlow s development is not like most characters. His
changes are not simple they are multidimensional. These changed qualities add up to
create an overall sense of enlightenment. What exactly is Marlow s enlightenment is
something very hard to distinguish as there multiple definitions for enlightenment.
However, Enlightenment can be best defined as a state in which one person becomes
more knowledge or more spiritually aware that is greater than themselves. Therefore, it
is possible to say that there many degrees in which a person is... Show more content on

His partial enlightenment can be seen through his more developed intellectual self,
greater wisdom and his prejudice in the novel. The areas in which Marlow becomes
more well versed are his wisdom and the intellectual self. However with everyone he
still fails in certain areas most specifically with his prejudices. These prejudices focus
primarily on his narrow minded view of women and the unwillingness to accept the
differences in culture and the people. It is also important to note that he realizes in
some of these areas the more enlightened view;however, he still chooses the wrong
view or at least does these things for the wrong reason. Some of these viewpoints of
Marlow may have been subject to the views in these societies. For example, women in
the Victorian Age were seen as weak housewives that stayed within the house, and For
Marlow it was too much to accept just like the true nature of the humans. Marlow s
reluctance then posits that what we choose to learn about or truly become more
enlightened about is ultimately subject to our own personal limitations and what we
like to hear. The reason why it is so hard for Marlow to accept the universal truth is
because it is not what he wants to hear. Additionally, the people surrounding us also limit
who we tell this information to because if we believe that we can not handle a
The Iron Curtain Analysis
Description: The artwork that I am criticizing is the Wall of Oil Barrels The Iron
Curtain by Christo and Jeanne Claude. The location of this barricade was in Rue
Visconti, Paris, between Rue Bonaparte and Rue de Seine. Rue Visconti is a one way
street that is 140 meters long and 3 meters wide. They used oil barrels and put them up
on June 27, 1962. Christo and Jeanne Claude worked together on the barricade, taking
a total of eight hours to get it all done. The iron/steel oil barrels were stacked on top of
each other, forming a wall/barricade of some sort. Christo and Jeanne Claude left all
the barrels exactly they way were, they didn t even change the colors of them. They
also kept the brand of the barrel and the rust on them visible. The barricade took up
488.26800 feet (13.7 x 13.2 x 2.7). There was a total of 89 barrels used to create the art.
Analysis: The wall of oil barrels appear to be some balance. If they weren t at least

I enjoyed learning about them and looking at it. Prior to doing more research on them,
I just thought their work wasn t art and just random things put up/built in places. Now
that I know more about it, I am able to fully understand it and enjoy it better. I couldn t
live with this in my house, it would take up too much space. Theoretically however, I
think I would enjoy having this in my house. I t has a nice meaning behind it and it
would be nice to see everyday. It is aesthetically successful in my opinion, it just works
so well. I would say this art piece is a mix between formalism and Imitationalism. I
believe both are what makes an artwork aesthetically successful. The whole thing, from
how it was constructed to the meaning behind it, are the reasons why I think this piece is

Portrait Of Max Colley
My artwork is a portrait of Max Colley Jr. It is a head and shoulders portrait that has a
light blue background fading to dark blue at the bottom. The blue represents Max s
blue eyes, his band called the Blue Max , jazz, the blues , and his love for the Detroit
Lions. In order to create this portrait, I had to start by making an outline of Max s face.
I then added the skin tones, highlights, and lowlights. This was the longest and hardest
process of the entire portrait. Once his skin was done, I added the eyes and the hair. His
eyes were a blend of color including different shades of blue, dark purple, green, and
brown. His hair was a mixture of white and dark brown to make different shades of gray.
Streaks of white helped to make it look

The 3 core principles of Compliance include Advisory, Training Monitoring. Compliance
is everyone s responsibility. Each employee is expected to be aware of the regulatory
requirements and what they must do to achieve compliance in the context of their roles.
This can be achieved through effective training. MAS regulations on Internal Controls
released in March 2013 2 states that An institution should ensure that its staff are

Question Set 1
Q1A: In a fecal transplant, a willing and tested stool donor gives a stool sample that is
then mixed with saline and strained. After this, it has to somehow get to the insides of a
patient. This is usually achieved through the methods of colonoscopy, enema, endoscopy,
or sigmoidoscopy. This procedure has the purpose of helping someone who s natural
bacteria microbiome has been compromised, often due to the use of antibiotics. Once
a lot of the good, essential bacteria has been killed off, there is more room and
resources for the bad bacteria, such as C. diff, to come in and overpopulate the colon.
This can cause serious side effects, one of which is a fatal diarrhea. Thus, with the use of

continued antibiotic use led to the emergence of other resistant bacteria as well. After the
fecal transplant, the patient did not have a relapse for two years until his death from
another infection with MRSA. The fecal transplant was successful in restoring the gut
flora and preventing all of the other resistant bacteria that emerged from the antibiotic
treatments from recolonizing. The patient s diarrhea, which was caused by C. difficile
had subsided after the treatment. This result provides evidence for fecal transplants
being effective for not only curing a C. difficile infection, but also restoring the
microbiome to normal so that the other resistant bacteria that emerged along with C.
difficile are no longer a problem because the good bacteria can sufficiently take over and
colonize.

The Thinker By Dantes Inferno
One of the most well known sculptures in the world, A French Sculptor, Auguste Rene
Rodin created The Thinker (Also known as the thinking man) and was first seen
completed of the year 1904. In France, the thinker was originally named The Poet,
respectively Le PoГЁte in French. Auguste started creating the artwork for a doorway,
named The Gates of Hell . Rodin created the piece based off of The Inferno , a section of
the Divine Comedy.
Dante Alighieri wrote his first section of the Epic to describe a soul to the journey
onwards to Heaven. It starts with Dante in Hell, as he endures suffering and punishment,
while being guided by a poet named Virgil. The Gates of Hell summarize the first third
of the Divine Comedy effectively. This doorway includes The Thinker, who seems to be
looking down on Hell or Inferno.
Many infer what the meaning of the Thinker could be the Actual character Dante in
the poem, observing Hell as he does. He also could be portrayed as the Writer looking
down at his poem and his scene. Just by observing this you can tell that the pose has

Different Types Of Software Types And Their Uses
Digital Technologies 1.40
In this report I am talking about a number of different software types and their uses.
There are many types of software that all do different jobs. There are also many brands
or different alternatives to certain software s such as .png (portable network graphic)
and .jpg. there are other types of software that do not preform one specific task but
instead allow other software to run. These are operating systems these allow higher level
more specialised software to run while doing the base computing to make it easier on the
components of the computer. And also communicate with the components.
Operating Systems and Application Software
When computers started out, customised programs used to be written and run at a very
primitive level. This involved manipulation of bits and bytes using numeric instructions
called machine code . Eventually, symbolic languages were developed that made this
manipulation easier. However, as computers became more complex, it seemed senseless
for each program to repeat the same code that handled low level tasks like reading and
writing to disk, altering graphical displays, and printing information. Things became even
more tricky when multiple users needed to be accommodated.
These low level tasks are all now handled by the operating system, which acts as an
intermediary between the higher level programs that accommodate users, and the lower
level tasks of system management already mentioned above memory
What Are The Key Issues In To Kill A Mockingbird
a white man, I muttered. Says it s the worst thing you can do (Lee 269). You can see
how Atticus has grown in favor of the black community, but also keep in mind that this

that we could be so upfront about some of the issues at the time, and that it wasn t swept

A key place that holds a lot of importance in the book, and received a lot of attention
would be the court sessions. I wanted to quote some things that were expressed at this

to the human race and to no particular race of men. (Lee 278) I think this quote had a lot
of importance and could easily be considered one of the more commonly remembered
quotes in the book. It is a strong quote into the sense that Atticus addressed the elephant
in the room in which everyone understood that Tom was not the man that commited this
crime. Another thing that caught me on gourd specifically reading this book was how
Atticus had come to the realization of what was going on, and how he gained the
courage to fight back for the African Americancommunity. His main strong point was
being realistic, and it was a shame that it did not get him far in court
Stricter Media Regulations
With the rise of new technologies, there is certain debates on whether or not media
regulations are a good or a bad thing. There are benefits and consequences for both sides.
In a sense, regulations are an essential element in our society. Every time there is a new
technology, regulations must be made in order to create rules that influencers and
organizations must follow. Stricter media regulations means would protect public
interests, protect individual rights, insuring fair competition, and censoring violent and
innappropriate material.

Many good things have come from government regulation such as copyright laws, the
FCC and regulating ownership to influence competition. The copyright laws and

are put into place as the protection of ideas and products that could potentially be stolen
or used without the owners approval. The FCC, or the Federal Radio Commission, is an
agency that s sole responsibility is to regulate TV, radio and phone industries. The FCC
policy makers are there to serve the public interest in censoring subjects that may be
considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or politically incorrect. This censorship
insures that children are not subject to foal material that are inappropriate for them.
Another important aspect is the regulating of the ownership and control. This is essential
in that competition thrives and mass media is not dominated by one
Examples Of Justice In The Crucible
Imagine the wicked House of Un American Activities Committee (HUAC) arrest an
innocent man. The HUAC does not arrest the man because he has committed a murder,
but because he is a communist. Many communists became victims of HUAC in the Red
Scare crisis of the 1950s. These communists made the right decision to speak out for
their freedom and against injustice. These communists also spoke out for their freedom
of different beliefs. Speaking out for freedom and against injustice is also present in
Shirley Jackson s short story The Lottery, Arthur Miller s tragic play The Crucible, and
Elia Kazans fictional movie On the Waterfront. Ultimately, these texts illustrate that

Corey speaks out that he never saw his wife practicing witchcraft, but only reading
books. Corey points out that his wife is not a witch and that Walcott has falsely
accused Martha Corey of witchcraft. Because Cheever arrested Martha Corey for
reading books, it is clear that her right of reading books is in threat and that she has
faced injustice. Everyone in the town had the right to read books, and to arrest only
Martha Corey for reading books is showing a threat to Martha s rights. In connection
to Salem of 1692, America in the 1950s was also not free for everyone. In the 1950s,
many Hollywood writers and directors became victims of the McCarthy witch hunts for
their communist views. This oppression of McCarthy led those writers and directors to
make a coalition, and support each other as they fought for their rights. In the end, Giles
Corey and Martha Corey made the right decision to speak out during the Salem witch
trials. Martha Corey gained support from Giles just like the communists got support from

Girlchild Christina Piercy Analysis
Professor Zednik
English 102
19 October 2014
Superficial Prejudicial Sacrificial What is beauty ? It seems that throughout centuries the
definition of beauty has changed drastically; it is constantly being redefined. Looking
back to the 1400 s through the 16th century, the ideal woman of that time was, by today s
definition, voluptuous and very full figured. Ivory skin and red lips were considered
very attractive. During the Victorian era, women strived to have a small 12 tummy; they
wore tightly laced corsets, sometimes risking their health, to achieve a cinched waist.
Women were very conservative with their makeup and preferred a very natural look. As
time progressed, the roaring 20 s brought new sexy trends. Women tried to hide their...

Marge Piercy selectively combines the two words girl and child because both are
typically symbols of innocence. Many see, and possibly even participate in, shaming
girls for being less than beautiful. Piercy pushes to make a point that although it s
common, it isn t right. Once girls reach a certain age around puberty, their perceptions
are altered and are also easily influenced. In the poem, the girlchild is persuaded that
there is something wrong with her outer appearance, so she went to and fro apologizing
(11). Not only was the girlchild brainwashed into thinking she was inadequate being
herself, but her peers were also programmed into believing that there is a standard of
universal beauty that everyone should strive to attain. Today, many young girls are
exactly like the girlchild ; they are raised from children to fit a specific criterion on how
they should look and behave. The standards may change, but they all demand that the
girlchild become someone, or something, that she
Nature And Time By William Wordsworth
Nature and Time
Contrasting with the Neoclassical Period, the Romantic Period in British Literature was
marked not by reason and rationalism, but by feelings, emotion, and nature. Of the writers
of the Romantic era, William Wordsworth was one of the most representative,
spearheading the movement by co authoring Lyrical Ballads with his contemporary
Samuel Coleridge. Thus, to gain a better understanding the Romantic period as a whole,
it is useful to focus on the works of William Wordsworth, the period s flagship writer. To
do this, one can conduct a close reading of Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern
Abbey and compare the progression and emphasis of the poem to that of Elegiac Stanzas
. In doing so, one can see Wordsworth s focus on the sublimity of nature and the attributes
that are associated with the passage of time.
From the very start of the poem, one can already see Wordsworth s accentuation of the
beauty of nature. He beautifully describes the serene mountain springs with adjectives
such as rolling...sweet and uses the verb murmur to describe the pleasant sound of the
spring (Lines 3 4). Additionally, his use of contrasting adjectives paints a colored picture
of his surroundings. For instance, although the phrase wild secluded scene is something
that seems to contradict itself, it serves instead to emboss a vivid and specific picture in
the reader s mind that can only match what Wordsworth must ve seen when revisiting
Tintern Abbey (Line 6). Jumping
Diaspora By James Clifford Summary
In the article Diasporas , historian and anthropologist James Clifford explores the
issues that can arise when trying to concretely define diaspora, a traveling term, in
changing global conditions . Clifford explains, the concept of diaspora was used in the
study of Jewish and later Greek and Armenian displaced groups. However, since the
1950s it has been commonly evoked in reference to African forced migration and is now
used to describe a variety of peoples and relocation experiences. In addition to diaspora,
other terms are also being used quite heavily in discussions of the movement of people,
including border , and Clifford explores the differences and similarities between
people living in a state of border versus a state of diaspora while both suggest
connections and multilocalities of people borders implies a politically and
geographically defined line, where as a diaspora connotates a further distance of
separation, and possibly a sense of exile. Clifford discuses these connections and... Show

He especially focuses on the juxtaposition of diaspora against concepts of the nation
state and on the flip side, against ideas of indigenous people. He feels that the term
diaspora is a signifier, not simply of transnationality and movement, but of political
struggles to define the local, as distinctive community, in historical contexts of
displacement . His examination of the use of diasporic language in the context of
tribal and indigenous people is especially interesting, since as he is clear to point out,
tribal cultures are not diasporas; their sense of rootedness in the land is precisely what
diasporic peoples have lost , however when the discussion is about indigenous peoples
who have been displaced, which is often the case, much of this language and framework
used to discuss diasporas is readily
Animal Cell Vs Human Body
The Animal Cell VS. The Human Body
Introduction: The animal cell can be compared to the human body in various ways and
functions. Most or all parts of the animal can be matched to parts of the human body that
have very similar functions and jobs when looking at the whole picture. Like an animal
cell, each part of the human body has a specific job that helps regulate the entire
operation. Some parts are more important or have a bigger job than others. For example,
the brain is much more important to the entire system than the teeth are. Or in the sense
of an animal cell, the nucleus has a much bigger job than the lysosomes.
Cell membrane: The cell membrane surrounds the cell and controls what goes in and out
of the cell. This is a lot like skin protects and holds the body together. And much like the

This is compared to blood cells that also can be found throughout the human body and
contribute to the health of many, if not all, organs.
Cytoskeleton: The job of the cytoskeleton in an animal cell is to give the cell shape and
structure, hold the organelles in place and direct their movement. This sounds very
familiar to the job of bones and muscles which also give the human body shape and
structure and hold the organs in place.
Lysosomes: Lysosomes contain enzymes that break down and digest large molecules into
smaller molecules. To me this sounds like the function of the stomach, which also digests
large materials into smaller materials to send into the body as nutrients and proteins. The
stomach and lysosomes also share an acidic environment for the material to be digested
in.
Endoplasmic reticulum: The function of the ER is to carry material and nutrients
through the cell from part to part. Which is also the function of the intestines. They both
carry necessary materials through the body or cell. And as well as the function, they also
take on a very similar
The Role Of Media In The 60 s
Media literacy has come a long way in comparison to the 20th century. Media in the 60
s wasn t as sophisticated and engaging as it is today. For your information, media
literacy doesn t only mean reading and writing. From photography to video games is
considered media literacy. In the 60s people did not have the same type of literacy we
have today. Technology has improved and evolved throughout the years allowing for us
to use other mediums to communicate and send messages. During the 60s the type of
media available were primarily newspapers and magazines and television. People spent
less time watching TV in the 60 s then people today, therefore, that s why there is more
exposure to commercials and ads in the 21st century. TV news was a

Soil Moisture Lab Report
Soil moisture also affects the yield and competitiveness of the introduced strain. Cowie
et al. (1996a, b) reported that waterlogging at any time have an adverse effect on the
seed yield. Drought conditions severely affect the viability of different species and
strains of rhizobia (Joshi et al., 1981; Osa Afiana and Alexander, 1982). Singh et al.
(1992) reported that at a available soilmoisture of 45 per cent nodule number and dry
weight of nodules increased while at 30 per cent available soil moisture, seed yield
increased. Strains isolated from arid areas are more tolerant to dessication and high
temperature than strains isolated from cooler and wet region. Bitorrini and Beringer

Almendras and Bottomley (1985) also concluded that there was a correlation between pH
and phosphorus application. Phosphorus limitation was exacerbated by low pH and the
combination of pH and phosphorus levels could have strong influence on competition for
nodulation.
Iron plays an important role in micro organisms and plants. This is a component of cell
and its deficiency can cause growth inhibition, sporulation, decrease in RNA and DNA
synthesis and, can also change the cell morphology. Iron exists in two states (Fe2+ and
Fe3+) and therefore, it is suitable as an electron transporter. Iron is also known to regulate
the bio synthesis of porphyrins, toxins, vitamins, antibiotics, cytochromes, pigments,
siderophores and aromatic compounds. Iron is present as a cofactor or required by
different enzymes and proteins such as peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, nitrogenase,
hydrogenase, glutamate synthase, rhibonuclotide diphosphate reductase, aconitase,
DAHP, synthatase, cytochromes, ferridoxin and flavoproteins. Iron storage protein like
ferritin in animals and bacterio ferritin in micro organisms have also been discovered
(Stiefel and Watt, 1979).

  • 2. The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich... The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that occurred mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that seemed so straight forward many years past finds itself a new meaning within the greater context of the period. The same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of 1972. This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP, another radical group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September Organization attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had occupied their lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an act of revenge (Smith). However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today. In both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The Secretary General of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its own, one that was terrible, it was made worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic Games
  • 3. Natural Gas During The Middle East And Other Opec Members Introduction James Buchan, renowned journalist and political pundit, stated in a 2006 edition of the New Statesman, A century ago, petroleum what we call oil was just an obscure commodity; today it is almost as vital to human existence as water. Had Mr. Buchan been writing this article today, it is likely that he would argue oil is more vital to human existence than water. There is no denying the human dependence on oil, relying on it to provide us light and heat, power our machines, and transport us throughout the globe. Almost forty years ago much of the western discourse on oil was dedicated to forecasting the future of oil, making predictions on where it would come from, who would control it, and how much it would cost.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tensions between Israel and Gaza, the turbulent political make up in Syria, and the deep rooted dispute between Turkey and Cyprus were initial challenges that have only intensified with continued resource discoveries. These political constraints have profound implications on commercial prospects for the natural gas considering they have delayed or completely called off bidding rounds for petroleum companies. The purpose of this paper is to provide an analytical report on the economic realities of the natural resource findings in the Eastern Mediterranean region. It will focus on the parties involved including state and non state actors. It will probe the potential opportunities for extraction, looking specifically at the possibility of monetizing the resources for all players. Finally, it will assess the challenges needed to overcome in order to make any option a viable one. Assessment of Reserves by Country The United States Geological Survey estimated that the Levantine Basin exceeds 3455 Billion cubic meters (Bcm) in natural gas resources. With the recent discoveries off the coast of Cyprus and Israel, the total estimated reserves have skyrocketed. As of 2013, the discoveries for each nation are as follows: 1. Israel By 2013, the two major Israeli discoveries consisted of the Leviathan and Tamar gas

  • 5. The Music Industry Became Aware Of Napster After John... In June of 1999 Shawn Fanning, John Fanning, and Sean Parker created an independent peer to peer file sharing website called Napster, Named after John Fanning s high school nickname. A peer to peer (P2P) service allows access to media files like movies, music, books and games by using a certain program that connects to other computers on the same network, meaning that when someone downloaded a file it was coming directly from another person s computer. The website was specifically designed to transfer MP3 files with a search engine dedicated to retrieving MP3 files only, and a chat service which allowed users to communicate with each other while using this system (Tyson). At its prime, Napsterwas home to about 80 million users (Gowan). The issue with Napster was that it wasn t properly licensed to distribute the files and it allowed its users unlimited free access to other individual s intellectual property without their consent. The music industry became aware of Napster when the heavy metal band, Metallica discovered that an unreleased version of one of their songs was circling the internet. Metallica sued Napster, providing evidence that over 300 thousand people had exchanged their work without the approval of the band or the record label, and that Napster contributed to their infringements (Vaver). Napster s main defense against the lawsuit was the Audio Home Recording Act of 1992. What this law does is allow anyone who has legally purchased a CD or cassette the
  • 6. The Merger Between United and Continental Airline Introduction As I was thinking about the two companies that I wanted to do for my course project on, I began to research companies on the internet and I ran across the merger between United and Continental airlines. The reason that I choose to do the merger is because I knew that they were going to go through many changes within this merger. Both airline companies have a lot to offer to each other with this merger that they can compete with Delta airlines one of the largest airline in the world. This merger will bring about several changes within both companies. In this paper I will be providing the different changes between both companies with the merger including the culture, systems and unions. Since they were two different companies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reservation agents at United are a having a difficult time with Continentals system although they have gone through an excessive amount of training for the system they are still having a hard time mastering it. Although the systems of United airlines have been converted into Continental there were an big issue as to were United was not able to print out boarding passes for their customer. They were very quick in thinking they printed out the boarding passes manual in order to service their customer. They also contracted their customer who had mileage plus to inform them of the issue at hand.( United airlines issues, 2012) Union Changes 2 The last change is the differences in the unions. Both airlines have different unions for their employees. United pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants are under AFA, maintenance is under IBT, mechanics are under IBT, ramp is under IAM, dispatcher are under PAFCA, engineers are under IFPTE, pubic contract employee are under IAM. Continental pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants are under IAM, maintenance is under IBT, and ramp is under IBT. • 7. Essay about Farmington Industries Farmington Industries Case Write Up Farmington Industries is a small, publicly traded U.S. based corporation, which produces programmable control instruments. With high interests in Mexico, the company has expanded to four Mexican related businesses, which are listed below along with their specific function: The Maquiladora Assembly Facility This facility is used to assemble imported U.S. manufactured components into final products for sale mainly in the U.S. Seeing as the majority of sales occur in the U.S., this facility generates its revenues in USD. Farmington (Antilles) N.V. This facility is an offshore shell corporation by which the U.S. parent exports U.S. manufactured products to Mexico and other countries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The devaluation of this currency leads to lower costs for the subsidiary, in relation to wages, since the peso has depreciated against the USD during this time period. The facility can purchase Mexican pesos with their USD profits at increasingly appealing exchange rates, and then use these pesos to finance new operations. By doing so, this shows the positive effect of the devaluation of the peso for the Maquiladora Assembly Facility. On the other hand, the peso devaluation will not have that much of a positive effect on Farmington (Antilles) N.V. as the peso depreciates relative to the USD. The result is the subsidiary being negatively impacted as the USD/peso exchange rate is rising, as they convert revenue earned in pesos to USD to deposit into U.S. bank accounts. This facility had almost 4 million MXN receivables at the end of the year. The 1994 average exchange rate is 3.5 MXN/USD, where these 4 million MXNs would equate to approximately 1.14 million USD. When the exchange rate values the devalued peso at 5.0 MXN/USD, these 4 million MXNs are only equal to 0.80 million USDs, showing a loss of more than 300,000 USDs. When the exchange rate changes from 4.0 to 5.0 MXN/USD, we can see the loss the company would experience, and thus the negative impact on this facility. Farmington Industries was not very well prepared for the December 20, 1994 devaluation. Farmington Industries business model creates a hedge by billing the majority of their transactions
  • 8. How To Criminalize Money Laundering Congress crafted a broad statute designed to criminalize the actions of anyone who knowingly participated in an illicit transaction, regardless of its magnitude or dollar value. Although the current money laundering statute is broad and general, there is widespread agreement that it does not criminalize the mere act of spending money generated by the illegal criminal activity. This helps hold the accountability for individuals engaged in criminal activity. Spending money by making a purchase or entering into a transaction is not necessarily a crime, even if the party spending the illegally gained money knows that the money came from illegal activities. Rather, in order to run afoul of the law, there must be direct or circumstantial evidence
  • 9. Children At Risk For Late Onset Diseases Many parents claim that they should have the right to have their children tested for any late onset diseases if that child is at risk. The professional consensus of most medical professionals (Kopelman), do not agree and claim that testing children for late onset diseases not only affects the child in a negative manner, but also negatively influences the parents relationship with that specific child (Davis). I argue that children at risk for late onset disorders, such as Huntington s or Alzheimer s disease, should not be tested for such genetic markers at the request of their parents. The decision to test a child for a late onset disease restricts the child s right to an open future (Davis). These diseases will affect that child as an adult and, as an adult, the child should have the right to choose for themselves whether they want to be tested or not. Not only does testing children for late onset diseases restrict the child s future, but it also leaves a significant impact on the child to parent relationship which is vital for development throughout the early stages of life (Davis). Oftentimes, the parents find themselves treating a diseased or affected child with more care and precaution in comparison to their other children (Kopelman), as if the diseased child is fragile. However, parents who claim late onset disease testing for their children should be an option also have strong objections to this professional consensus. Objections include the idea that the
  • 10. Heart Of Darkness Enlightenment Essay Characters in a novel are normally not just static. They develop in myriad ways ranging from intelligence to physical characteristics. Charles Marlow from Heart of Darkness is one of these types of characters. Marlow s development is not like most characters. His changes are not simple they are multidimensional. These changed qualities add up to create an overall sense of enlightenment. What exactly is Marlow s enlightenment is something very hard to distinguish as there multiple definitions for enlightenment. However, Enlightenment can be best defined as a state in which one person becomes more knowledge or more spiritually aware that is greater than themselves. Therefore, it is possible to say that there many degrees in which a person is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His partial enlightenment can be seen through his more developed intellectual self, greater wisdom and his prejudice in the novel. The areas in which Marlow becomes more well versed are his wisdom and the intellectual self. However with everyone he still fails in certain areas most specifically with his prejudices. These prejudices focus primarily on his narrow minded view of women and the unwillingness to accept the differences in culture and the people. It is also important to note that he realizes in some of these areas the more enlightened view;however, he still chooses the wrong view or at least does these things for the wrong reason. Some of these viewpoints of Marlow may have been subject to the views in these societies. For example, women in the Victorian Age were seen as weak housewives that stayed within the house, and For Marlow it was too much to accept just like the true nature of the humans. Marlow s reluctance then posits that what we choose to learn about or truly become more enlightened about is ultimately subject to our own personal limitations and what we like to hear. The reason why it is so hard for Marlow to accept the universal truth is because it is not what he wants to hear. Additionally, the people surrounding us also limit who we tell this information to because if we believe that we can not handle a
  • 11. The Iron Curtain Analysis Description: The artwork that I am criticizing is the Wall of Oil Barrels The Iron Curtain by Christo and Jeanne Claude. The location of this barricade was in Rue Visconti, Paris, between Rue Bonaparte and Rue de Seine. Rue Visconti is a one way street that is 140 meters long and 3 meters wide. They used oil barrels and put them up on June 27, 1962. Christo and Jeanne Claude worked together on the barricade, taking a total of eight hours to get it all done. The iron/steel oil barrels were stacked on top of each other, forming a wall/barricade of some sort. Christo and Jeanne Claude left all the barrels exactly they way were, they didn t even change the colors of them. They also kept the brand of the barrel and the rust on them visible. The barricade took up 488.26800 feet (13.7 x 13.2 x 2.7). There was a total of 89 barrels used to create the art. Analysis: The wall of oil barrels appear to be some balance. If they weren t at least balanced and stack properly, the whole thing would ve probably collapsed. There are just enough enough barrels to make... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that I know more about it, I am able to fully understand it and enjoy it better. I couldn t live with this in my house, it would take up too much space. Theoretically however, I think I would enjoy having this in my house. I t has a nice meaning behind it and it would be nice to see everyday. It is aesthetically successful in my opinion, it just works so well. I would say this art piece is a mix between formalism and Imitationalism. I believe both are what makes an artwork aesthetically successful. The whole thing, from how it was constructed to the meaning behind it, are the reasons why I think this piece is

Jewish Temple Essay One day in class with the professor Joseph Hoolbrok, I was thinking about which essay would be easier to do, but then I thought about how interesting would be to know about other religions, costumes and different traditions. One friend of mine works in events in a Jewish temple and I asked him if I could go there to do a site visit. The Jewish temple I went is called Dor Dorim and is ubicated in Weston, Florida. As Christianityis my religion, in this site visit essay I am going to talk about the Jewish ceremonies, their sacred days and their traditions. The light of the menorah represents the perfect and eternal light of God. The second symbol is the Maguen David, better known as David s star, it is located in the synagogues, temples, homes and neck as jewelry, rings or bracelet. It is a very old symbol, but no one really knows the exact origin. One possibility is that King David had a shield with the symbol; other than by having six points and six spaces, twelve could be the model order and camps of the tribes of Israel around the Tabernacle. The blue represents Max s blue eyes, his band called the Blue Max , jazz, the blues , and his love for the Detroit Lions. In order to create this portrait, I had to start by making an outline of Max s face. I then added the skin tones, highlights, and lowlights. This was the longest and hardest process of the entire portrait. Once his skin was done, I added the eyes and the hair. His eyes were a blend of color including different shades of blue, dark purple, green, and brown. His hair was a mixture of white and dark brown to make different shades of gray. Streaks of white helped to make it look

After this, it has to somehow get to the insides of a patient. This is usually achieved through the methods of colonoscopy, enema, endoscopy, or sigmoidoscopy. This procedure has the purpose of helping someone who s natural bacteria microbiome has been compromised, often due to the use of antibiotics. Once a lot of the good, essential bacteria has been killed off, there is more room and resources for the bad bacteria, such as C. diff, to come in and overpopulate the colon. This can cause serious side effects, one of which is a fatal diarrhea. Thus, with the use of a fecal transplant, if the gut microbiome ... The continued antibiotic use led to the emergence of other resistant bacteria as well. After the fecal transplant, the patient did not have a relapse for two years until his death from another infection with MRSA. The fecal transplant was successful in restoring the gut flora and preventing all of the other resistant bacteria that emerged from the antibiotic treatments from recolonizing. The patient s diarrhea, which was caused by C. difficile had subsided after the treatment. This result provides evidence for fecal transplants being effective for not only curing a C. difficile infection, but also restoring the microbiome to normal so that the other resistant bacteria that emerged along with C. difficile are no longer a problem because the good bacteria can sufficiently take over and colonize. 3) Publication citation: Hecker, Michelle, Mark Obrenovich, Jennifer Cadnum, Anette Jencson, Alok Jain, Edith Ho, and Curtis Donskey. The Thinker By Dantes Inferno One of the most well known sculptures in the world, A French Sculptor, Auguste Rene Rodin created The Thinker (Also known as the thinking man) and was first seen completed of the year 1904. In France, the thinker was originally named The Poet, respectively Le PoГЁte in French. Auguste started creating the artwork for a doorway, named The Gates of Hell . Rodin created the piece based off of The Inferno , a section of the Divine Comedy. Dante Alighieri wrote his first section of the Epic to describe a soul to the journey onwards to Heaven. It starts with Dante in Hell, as he endures suffering and punishment, while being guided by a poet named Virgil. The Gates of Hell summarize the first third of the Divine Comedy effectively. This doorway includes The Thinker, who seems to be looking down on Hell or Inferno. Many infer what the meaning of the Thinker could be the Actual character Dante in the poem, observing Hell as he does. He also could be portrayed as the Writer looking down at his poem and his scene. There are many types of software that all do different jobs. There are also many brands or different alternatives to certain software s such as .png (portable network graphic) and .jpg. there are other types of software that do not preform one specific task but instead allow other software to run. These are operating systems these allow higher level more specialised software to run while doing the base computing to make it easier on the components of the computer. And also communicate with the components. Operating Systems and Application Software When computers started out, customised programs used to be written and run at a very primitive level. This involved manipulation of bits and bytes using numeric instructions called machine code . Eventually, symbolic languages were developed that made this manipulation easier. However, as computers became more complex, it seemed senseless for each program to repeat the same code that handled low level tasks like reading and writing to disk, altering graphical displays, and printing information. Things became even more tricky when multiple users needed to be accommodated. These low level tasks are all now handled by the operating system, which acts as an intermediary between the higher level programs that accommodate users, and the lower level tasks of system management already mentioned above memory

It is a strong quote into the sense that Atticus addressed the elephant in the room in which everyone understood that Tom was not the man that commited this crime. Another thing that caught me on gourd specifically reading this book was how Atticus had come to the realization of what was going on, and how he gained the courage to fight back for the African Americancommunity. His main strong point was being realistic, and it was a shame that it did not get him far in court

There are benefits and consequences for both sides. In a sense, regulations are an essential element in our society. It seems that throughout centuries the definition of beauty has changed drastically; it is constantly being redefined. Looking back to the 1400 s through the 16th century, the ideal woman of that time was, by today s definition, voluptuous and very full figured. Ivory skin and red lips were considered very attractive. During the Victorian era, women strived to have a small 12 tummy; they wore tightly laced corsets, sometimes risking their health, to achieve a cinched waist. Women were very conservative with their makeup and preferred a very natural look. As time progressed, the roaring 20 s brought new sexy trends. Women tried to hide their... Once girls reach a certain age around puberty, their perceptions are altered and are also easily influenced. In the poem, the girlchild is persuaded that there is something wrong with her outer appearance, so she went to and fro apologizing (11). Not only was the girlchild brainwashed into thinking she was inadequate being herself, but her peers were also programmed into believing that there is a standard of universal beauty that everyone should strive to attain. Today, many young girls are exactly like the girlchild ; they are raised from children to fit a specific criterion on how they should look and behave. The standards may change, but they all demand that the girlchild become someone, or something, that she
  • 24. Nature And Time By William Wordsworth Nature and Time Contrasting with the Neoclassical Period, the Romantic Period in British Literature was marked not by reason and rationalism, but by feelings, emotion, and nature. Of the writers of the Romantic era, William Wordsworth was one of the most representative, spearheading the movement by co authoring Lyrical Ballads with his contemporary Samuel Coleridge. Thus, to gain a better understanding the Romantic period as a whole, it is useful to focus on the works of William Wordsworth, the period s flagship writer. To do this, one can conduct a close reading of Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey and compare the progression and emphasis of the poem to that of Elegiac Stanzas . In doing so, one can see Wordsworth s focus on the sublimity of nature and the attributes that are associated with the passage of time. From the very start of the poem, one can already see Wordsworth s accentuation of the beauty of nature. He beautifully describes the serene mountain springs with adjectives such as rolling...sweet and uses the verb murmur to describe the pleasant sound of the spring (Lines 3 4). Additionally, his use of contrasting adjectives paints a colored picture of his surroundings. For instance, although the phrase wild secluded scene is something that seems to contradict itself, it serves instead to emboss a vivid and specific picture in the reader s mind that can only match what Wordsworth must ve seen when revisiting Tintern Abbey (Line 6). Diaspora By James Clifford Summary In the article Diasporas , historian and anthropologist James Clifford explores the issues that can arise when trying to concretely define diaspora, a traveling term, in changing global conditions . Clifford explains, the concept of diaspora was used in the study of Jewish and later Greek and Armenian displaced groups. However, since the 1950s it has been commonly evoked in reference to African forced migration and is now used to describe a variety of peoples and relocation experiences. In addition to diaspora, other terms are also being used quite heavily in discussions of the movement of people, including border , and Clifford explores the differences and similarities between people living in a state of border versus a state of diaspora while both suggest connections and multilocalities of people borders implies a politically and geographically defined line, where as a diaspora connotates a further distance of separation, and possibly a sense of exile. Clifford discuses these connections and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He especially focuses on the juxtaposition of diaspora against concepts of the nation state and on the flip side, against ideas of indigenous people. He feels that the term diaspora is a signifier, not simply of transnationality and movement, but of political struggles to define the local, as distinctive community, in historical contexts of displacement . His examination of the use of diasporic language in the context of tribal and indigenous people is especially interesting, since as he is clear to point out, tribal cultures are not diasporas; their sense of rootedness in the land is precisely what diasporic peoples have lost , however when the discussion is about indigenous peoples who have been displaced, which is often the case, much of this language and framework used to discuss diasporas is readily

Most or all parts of the animal can be matched to parts of the human body that have very similar functions and jobs when looking at the whole picture. Like an animal cell, each part of the human body has a specific job that helps regulate the entire operation. Some parts are more important or have a bigger job than others. For example, the brain is much more important to the entire system than the teeth are. Or in the sense of an animal cell, the nucleus has a much bigger job than the lysosomes. Cell membrane: The cell membrane surrounds the cell and controls what goes in and out of the cell. This is a lot like skin protects and holds the body together. And much like the ... Cytoskeleton: The job of the cytoskeleton in an animal cell is to give the cell shape and structure, hold the organelles in place and direct their movement. This sounds very familiar to the job of bones and muscles which also give the human body shape and structure and hold the organs in place. Lysosomes: Lysosomes contain enzymes that break down and digest large molecules into smaller molecules. To me this sounds like the function of the stomach, which also digests large materials into smaller materials to send into the body as nutrients and proteins. The stomach and lysosomes also share an acidic environment for the material to be digested in. Endoplasmic reticulum: The function of the ER is to carry material and nutrients through the cell from part to part. Which is also the function of the intestines. They both carry necessary materials through the body or cell. And as well as the function, they also take on a very similar
