Research Paper On Annie Easley
Annie Easley was born on April 23,1933, In Birmingham Alabama. Easley and her
brother were raised by thaier single mother Mary Melvin Hoover. Her mother was one
of her greatest inspirations and her role model, she always encouraged her to get a good
education. In an oral history interview with NASA, she said that her motheralways used
to tell her You can be anything you want to. It doesn t matter what you look like, what
your size is, what your color is. You can be anything you want to, but you do have to
work at it. Annie Easley attended schoolin Birmingham and graduated as the
valedictorian of her grade. At that time Easly Wanted to become a nurse because she
thought it was one of the only careers open to black women. However, later on... Show

An example of that would be during a laboratory open house, where a photo of her and
the rest of her co workers was blown up and put on display, with the exception of her
face which was purposely cut out of the picture. She was very embarrassed about it but
she didn t let it affect her. In an interview with NASA she said When people have their
biases and prejudices, yes, I am aware. My head is not in the sand. But my thing is, if I
can t work with you, I will work around you. I was not about to be discouraged that I d
walk away. That may be a solution for some people, but it s not mine . Another obstacle
she faced was her inability to get a good education as others because of her skin colour.
Back at her time, there was a lot of discrimination.which resulted in a separation of
schools for black and white people. The schools with black kids typically had a worse
education. She was also unable to continue her study as a pharmacist because she got
married and had to move. Though all of that happened to her It didn t stop her from
becoming a great computer programmer, mathematician, and a rocket scientist for
NASA who helped make modern spaceflight possible with her calculations. Everything
she has done and all the obstacles she has faced are reasons that make her a very notable

Research Before we created our promotional materials such as posters, leaflets and
flyers, we had to make sure that we were able to find a suitable price in which we can
budget according to our finances. During our research, we were able to locate a
suitable printing agency in which we could print our promotional materials in bulk, so
we could hand out in the local area to help promote the business. The advantage of the
agency we chose for printing our material was that they were able to print our
promotional materials within 2 working days and that any deliveries that took place
could be tracked on the website when u log on to it, this to make sure that the delivery is
going according to plan. By selecting the amount we though would be... Show more

The reason behind this decision was that we believed that consumers would be more
likely to read a poster that had a limited amount of writing on the poster rather than
having a jammed pack poster full of writing and fewer pictures. By just stating the
important points and more use of pictures proved to be more eye catching for us and
potential consumers. This could help achieve the aims of this organisation as students
and working class people could notice this poster when they shop at local newsagents
or public areas when they go to work or college. Although these won t be distributed to
houses like leaflets, they will be situated at public areas such as on buses or some of
the local shops nearby. This would increase customer awareness of the business on a
whole or be a drawback as some people like the elderly who do not shop as often as other
student are more likely to miss the poster rather than students who walk past on a day to
day
Ophelia And Gertrude Gender Roles In Hamlet
The play Hamlet explores gender roles throughout it s acts. The female characters
Ophelia and Gertrude emphasize the way women were treated at the time in Elizabethan
England. Through the actions other characters you can see how Hamlet reflects the
oppression that other women faced during their time.
Prince Hamlet is a prime example of a man who disrespects and disregards women and
their feelings. Throughout the play, Prince Hamlet manipulates Ophelia multiple times.
For example, in Act 2 Scene 1, Ophelia states My lord, as I was sewing in my closet,
Lord Hamlet, with his doublet all unbrac d; No hat upon his head; his stockings foul d,
Ungarter d, and down gyved to his ancle; 90 Pale as his shirt; his knees knocking each
other; And with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After King Hamlet died, she marries his brother, King Claudius. This action upsets her
son and he has many disrespectful things to say about it, such as That it should come to
this! But two months dead: nay, not so much, not two: so excellent a king that was to
this, Hyperion to a satyr, so loving to my mother... Frailty, thy name is woman! Hamlet
criticizes and insults his own mother, the lady who raised him. This blatant disrespect
for females does not even stop for his mother. This exemplifies how women who
remarried were viewed. They were not respected and considered weak for not being able
to live as a widow for the rest of their life. At the very end of the play, Queen Gertrude
accidentally drinks the poisoned wine meant for Hamlet (V.ii.26 28.) Before she drank
the wine. King Claudius told her not to, yet she disobeyed and did so anyways. This is
the first time she disobeyed King Claudius, it is also the last time because she dies
shortly after drinking the wine. This conveys a message that women should not disobey
men because they will ultimately be punished, or in this case, wind up dead. It was a
very prevalent idea in Elizabethan England that a woman should follow her husband s
orders and this scene strengthens that ideal. According to the play Hamlet, women should
be submissive and men should be

The importance of organizational justice cannot be overlooked in today competitive
business where individual, group, team, leadership, and organizational behavior are
paramount. The diversity behaviors need to be treated with extreme caution as they can
make or break an organization. The development of a competent and reliable workforce
that promotes the organization s growth can be realized by advancing two components of
organizational justice distributive and procedural. Largely, organizational justice is
associated with workplace
Nursing Mobility And Safety
Mobility and safety are two nursing topics that are very related. Safety is the key to
ensure that the patient can remain mobile. It is important that the patient has ways to
move around without fear of falling. It is also imperative that the patient knows how to
move safely and use mobility devices. The nurse needs to understand how these two
topics go together to ensure that the patient will remained unharmed at the hospital and
in the home. As stated earlier, safetyis so important to make sure that patient keeps their
mobility. The surroundings need to be safe to prevent falls. When falls are prevented,
the patient remains mobile. One safety precautions to ensure that falls do not happen
is to have a clear area for the patient to be able to walk around. This means not having
objects in their pathway or rugs in their walkway. Having these objects in the way can
cause the patient to have a fall. Having rooms well lit will prevent falls. If they are able

There might be certain movements that can affect mobility in the future or could re
injure they surgical site. For example, after a hip replacement surgery patients are given
and abduction pillow. According to Hip Rehab After Surgery , the pillow is used to
prevent the patient from dislocating their new hip. After the surgery for safety reasons
their mobility must be restricted while it heals. When they do the surgery, they cut
through muscles and those have to grow back. This will prevent further injury and the
patient will be able to get back their normal mobility after it is healed. Although there are
certain actions that post operation patients cannot do they still need to be mobile. The
patient is moved as soon as the patient is able to handle it. Getting the patient up will
prevent blood clots in their legs and promote blood circulation. Proper blood flow to the
legs will mean that they can remain mobile and stay
Lucy Monologue
The thing that scared us the most was when the Red Robin that was supposedly
leading the way flew off, and then that s when we realized that we were lost, hungry,
with no shelter while it was cold. But then suddenly we heard some rattling in the
bushes and we we re cautious but then a little cute beaver poked it s head out, it didn t
come towards us but it was signaling to follow him. So we did, and he showed us that
he had Lucy s handkerchief that she had given the Faun before she left Narnia, that
made us trust him because the Faun had given it to him. It took quite a long time, lots
of hills and walking, being hungry and tired didn t help the fact that it was cold to.
When we finally arrived we met wonderful Mrs. Beaver and she was cooking
Fundamental of Laws
INTENTION We would first need to establish if there is a valid and legally binding
contract formation between Iris ( the offeror ) before deciding on the likely outcomes
for the parties. A proper contract constitutes an offer, an acceptance, the provision of a
consideration of value and parties intention to legal relations. There was no depute as
to the presence of a valid offer because Iris did indeed make an offer to sell the piano
for a specific price and its terms i.e. keeping the offer open for Diana till noon on
Saturday, were communicated to Diana. In return, Diana had also put up her
consideration towards the formation of the contract by making an effort to raise the
money needed to buy the aforementioned piano from Iris.... Show more content on

Therefore, Iris promise to hold the piano till Saturday was not legally binding. Thus,
the offer was invalid. ACCEPTANCE There are two elements for acceptance to be
valid. At law, acceptance must be Final and Unqualified. The general rule is that
acceptance is effective only when is communicated to the offeror. Diana s acceptance
is final and unqualified as she phoned and left a message with Iris s daughter, Athena,
saying that she got the money and would collect the piano on Saturday morning.
However, the acceptance was not communicated to Iris as Athena forgot to pass the
message to Iris. Thus, Diana s acceptance of offer is invalid as it does not fulfill the
requirements for the acceptance to be effective. The acceptance was not
communicated to the offeror. REVOCATION At law, offeror may revoke an offer at
any time prior to the offer being accepted even if the offeror has promised not to
revoke it Routledge v Grant Notice of revocation is crucial; it is not effective unless
the offeree knows it. Offeror are entitled to change their minds and withdraw offers at
any time right up to the moment of acceptance. An offer can be revoked by the offeror
any time before it is accepted. This is analogous to the case of Byrne amp; Co v Leon
Tienhoven amp; Co (1880) Personal notification is usual, but is not essential as long as
the offeree knew or reasonably
The Influence Of Pro Social And Anti-Social Behavior
Introduction
The media and advertisement is a great way to promote new products, persuade others,
or even influence behavior. The content of the advertisement can easily promote both
pro social and anti social behavior depending on the content. When this behavior is
studied and theory is applied, individuals can better understand why people behave the
way they do and also raise social awareness. The clips Bystander Effect and Bottle Bank
Arcade Machine show excellent examples of both pro social and anti social behavior. An
advertisement by the Red Cross also pulls on the heart strings to promote pro social
behavior, while an ad by Duncan Quinn also depicts anti social behavior with a gritty
image depicting sexual violence against women.
Bystander Effect: Pro social and Anti Social Behavior
In the clip Bystander Effect , a social experiment is done to see how bystanders would
respond to a girl potentially being abducted (The Today Show, n.d.). The experiment is
recorded and observed from afar to witness how people responded. In this clip, there
are various examples of pro social and anti social behavior to note. Unfortunately, the
clip is made up of primarily anti social behavior. All but one set of people chose not to
respond to the situation. Instead, they kept on walking and chose not to get involved.
These individuals seemed to not want to have to be in the middle of the situation, or take
responsibility for what may or may not be happening with the adult
The Current Generation Of School Age
The current generation of people of school age and in the young adults age group is
among the earliest to grow up in the age where Internet usage plays a near pivotal role in
society. Naturally, this also leads to the fact that this demographic is most affected by
Internet addiction. In fact, a study conducted using four years of information from the
Korean Information Society Agency concluded that the higher the level of school, the
higher the Internetaddictionratio. The highest level of school in this study was university
level. (Jun, 2015) This fact is important because university level is almost entirely
associated with young adults, which is the age group this paper focuses on. What is also
important is that university level is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the higher the level of internet addiction a student was facing, the more
likely the student had trouble with time management. Proceeding to the next hypothesis
statement, it was found that time management was directly proportional to academic
performance. Therefore, by inference, it can be stated that high levels of internet
addiction will likely result in poor academic performances.
The second case to be reviewed is a study that took place among 594 in patients, aged ten
to 24 years old, of one of the largest Internet addiction clinics in China. (Jiang, 2014) The
study aimed to investigate the relationships between internet addiction, internet
connectedness, wherein various factors of Internet usage are considered to measure an
individual s Internet usage pattern, and online gaming. Online gaming is a major
contributing factor to Internet addiction, particularly in the young adult male
demographic. (Hsu Yu, 2007) Due to online games massive immersion and interaction
features, they can be really engaging and time consuming, as well as give the player a
sense of belonging. The data retrieved from the surveyed patients were split into 5 parts,
namely: Internet connectedness, online gaming, Internet addiction symptoms, academic
performance decrement, and demographics. The results showed a strong correlation
between the hypothesized aspects.
Essay on Pastoral Ministry
Christ is the leader of the Church, Paul in Ephesians 1:22 said God placed everything
under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the Church however,
God entrusted the authority to lead to his servant whom he set them aside to lead the
community. Pastor as a public Leadership is to lead community. A person who is called
by Godto lead public has a responsibility to be in the community, with the community
and for the community. One of best questions raised in the class during public
leadership discussion was How we can be a community pastor rather than just a church
pastor? This really a kind of question we are to consider as pastor especially as rural
congregation pastor. In most cases when pastor are called to... Show more content on

However, God is able to give breakthrough once he called his people to ministry, that is
why Paul said I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)
It is not an easy task to carry out public leadership, you have to know almost
everything, counseling marriage on the verge breaking down, baptizing dying babies,
administering Holy Communion for dying individuals, leading marriage ceremony with
unusual and complicated scenario. It is also not easy to accept ministry as God calling
rather than as job placement or vocational opportunity. It is tough to accept the people,
their culture, tradition and the whole identity. God called us to ministry so that we will
be able exercise his full authority (Matt 28:16 18) with full humility (Philippians 2:6,
2Cor 8:9, Rom 5:6 8). We have to deny ourselves and follow the footsteps of Jesus our
Lord (Luke 9:23).
Finally a pastor has to know the distinctions of Authority and power. It is not uncommon
to see pastors are using power instead of the authority God given them. . Authority is
responsibility that derived from someone greater than us. That means the full
responsibility
Web And Content Management Systems
What is WordPress?
It seems that the internet is filled with blogs. That s not an observation, it s a fact.
Wherever we look on the web, we find blogs about everything from AA meetings, to
taking the drug Zytiga. For most people, starting a blog is a daunting process. Without
knowledge of HTML and CSS it would seem impossible, and for the average person, that
used to be true. That is until the creation of self publishing/content management
systems(CMS) like WordPress(WP). WP was originally created as new blogging
platform in 2003. It was based on an older, and soon to be defunct, platform called b2
/cafelog. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were the founding developers of WP and
sought to take on the platform leader Moveable Type. Now WP powers around 20% of
all websites. These aren t just personal blogs, but corporate news and business sites as
well. What makes WP desirable to is the cost, and ease of use. WP is open source, so the
software is free to use with any hosting providers (as of 2017 only providers that offer
an SSL will be able to offer WP with their hosting). Ease of use comes in the form of
using the dashboard to publish content, and style the website. This is ideal for someone
that has no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Giving this kind of usability to
everyone, makes it possible for the average user to make a place for themselves on the
web.
How does WordPress create a webpage? Now that we know a little about what WP is,
we need to understand how it
Color Morphism Lab Report
Sexual selection and genetic color polymorphisms in animals Introduction: Genetic
color polymorphism is an ideal model system, which can be used to study evolutionary
stages for numerous reasons. First, high heritability can be shown from genetic basis
that color morphs provide. Second, separate color morphs can provide visual markers
and can be seen in isolated individuals when observing selection in the wild. With use of
morph frequencies, genotype frequencies can be detected easily and derive allelic
frequency modifications over space and time. There have been numerous Drosophila
studies that have used visual eye marker phenotypes to study evolutionary changes,
which have been shown that color morphs can be correlated to strong natural and... Show

Such effect will enhance the heterozygote disadvantage and promote stable
polymorphism emergence as recessive alleles being masked in the process. Genomic
architectures tend to favor speciation by either eliminating or reducing recombination
between traits that are correlated with reproductive isolation. Such changes in
recombination rate can occur via synergistic pleiotropy, which result in magic traits.
Magic trait models suggest there is a link between reproductive isolation and ecological
trait. As a result, the ecological trait will produce reproductive isolation as a by product
and as correlated response. When fitness advantage passes across multiple consecutive
generations, it will affect several phenotypic traits in a certain population, such as:
physiology and behaviors, in addition to the alteration of the population s morph
sequences by fitness consistency. Natural and sexual selection can work together as they
do in different color morphs. In general, this study shows the tremendous effect of natural
and sexual selection on the evolutionary process especially when they act concordantly
on a certain trait. As a result, the target population will experience a stronger evolutionary
pressure when the two selections (natural and sexual) work in one
Measure Of Crime And Crime
Measure of Crime
The U.S. is in a developing stage as to how to measure crime; however, there are
different ways to measure and gather criminal statistics, such as the FBI s Uniform Crime
Report(UCR) that is updated annually. The National Incident based Reporting
System(NIBRS) which has been developed to broaden the extent and depth of crime data
gathered by police agencies (Dammer Abanese, 2014). Throughout the globe and nations,
there are different ways to gather criminal data and measure crime and being consistent
and reliable is costly and rigorous; surveys are formed and people are encouraged to fill
those surveys upon their personal desire and with many of them having the opportunity
of staying anonymous. International Crime Victim Surveys (ICVS) is coordinated
between the minister of justice in Netherlands and the United Nations Interrogated Crime
and Justice Research Institute (ICVS) (Dammer Abanese, 2014).
In Colombia there is The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE)
and is part of the executive branch on Colombia s congress (DANE, 2015). Crime
measurement is highly relied upon DANE and their collections, since it is a part of the
legislative branch of congress is believed that they will be reliable and unbiased on their
crime measurement practices. Colombia s Department of Criminal Investigation
(DIJIN) is part of Colombia s only police agency, which is also under the defense
minister; also serves the purpose and has the duty to collect and
The Exploration Period In Europe
The exploration period in Europe was a widespread idea that all countries agreed on, they
all wanted to expand their countries and get richer than the others. The expansion was a
very great thing for the countries that did it and benefitted them greatly and made them
richer. The bad part of the explorations was that it harshly affected the native people by
taking their land, spreading diseases, enslaving them, and forcefully converting them to
christianity.
The Europeans in the late 1400 s to early 1500 s developed new technology to travel
further and more efficiently. They used better navigation tools such as well drawn out
maps, astrolabe, cross staff, quadrants, and the sextant. With the use of these new
technologies they traveled across ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are cases back to 55 and 54 BC when Julius Caesar and the Roman legions went to
Britain and took it over in the Gallic Wars and set up a client king to rule over the land
in the name of the Roman Empire. This is just to show that exploration of new areas
always entails good and bad things because although Caesar took over Britain he
discovered new ways of boat making and the Germanic tribes discovered new ways of
battle with the Roman technology. With this in mind most explorations had positive and
negative side effects to the people and cultures there. Although the explorers took the
natives land , spread diseases, enslaving them and converting them to christianity overall
it led to great things for the countries but not its people as sad as that
Pheochromocytoma Essay
Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PCC/PGL) are sporadic neuroendocrine
catecholamine secreting tumors derived from the chromaffin cells in the adrenal
medulla or extra adrenal ganglia, respectively (1). The tumors are rare, having low
incidence rate of two to eight per million people with a high occurring in third to fourth
decade of life. Mostly, PCC/PGL is benign, however sometimes associated with high
morbidity and mortality due to mass effect and high circulating catecholamines. The
classical hallmark of the secreting PCC/PGL includes episodic headaches, palpitations,
diaphoresis and anxiety. Hypersecretion of catecholamines can lead to hypertension,
stroke and even death. Nevertheless, these symptoms may not appear in all patients...

In patients with a positive family history of non syndromic PCC/PGL and those with
head and neck PGL, this number can be as high as 79% and 54% respectively (7). Ten
known susceptibility genes have been identified for PCC/PGL to date. Including von
Hippel Lindau disease (vHL) (VHL), Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) (NF1) and
Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2 (MEN2) (RET). These three genes are well known
cancer susceptibility syndromes; the Succinate Dehydrogenase (SDH) complex subunits
genes (SDHA, SDHB, SDHC SDHD); The SDH complex cofactors (SDHAF2);
TMEM127 and MAX (table 1). Thus, the occurrence of PCC/PGL although infrequently
but associated with an inherited mutation more commonly than other cancer disease.
Based on transcription profile revealed by microarray analysis, hereditary
pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas can be divided into two clusters. One cluster is
the VHL and SDHx mutant genes while the other are RET, NF1, TMEM127 and MAX
mutant genes. Surprisingly, sporadic tumors were represented in both clusters
The Sixties And The End Of Collapsing
In terms of the amount of political upheaval that took place, the 1960s is probably the
most fascinating decade post World War II to study historically. To understand how the
country was almost at the brink of collapsing, one must survey one of the prominent
political actors during the decade: the student movement. According to William H. Chafe
in The Unfinished Journey, the student movement emerged from the feeling that
President John F. Kennedys insistent call for the young to fulfill America s unfulfilled
promises was a mandate for action. Yet, the conclusions made about the student
movement in the 1960s are still contested today. David Steigerwald, author of The Sixties
and the End to Modern America scrutinizes the student... Show more content on

While Chafe s use of the Port Huron Statement is more so a summary of the attitudes of
the student movement, Steigerwald offers a critique of the student movement s
ambitions. Steigerwald does not deny that the Port Huron Statement was bold, stating
that its critiques of U.S. Cold Warforeign policy were both realistic and prescient and that
the ideals presented in the statement were meant as an antidote to the ills of
bureaucratized society. Personal fulfillment was to be realized through civic participation
. However, Steigerwald argues that the deepest flaw of the student movement was that it
could encourage mere rebelliousness masquerading as radicalism, a phony radicalism that
saw politics as a vehicle for exhibitionism and self assertion rather than change .
Steigerwald s critique questions whether the student movement actually aimed to
challenge the apparent status quo of the American political landscape. Steigerwald s
critique is in accordance with the larger historical critique of the counterculture
movement of the 1960s that the movement did not make the impact that it intended to
make. Chafe joins with Steigerwald on the critical

The Portrayal Analysis Of The Wild Hearts CanT Be Broken
Andrew Young once said, There s no problem on the planet that can t be solved
without violence. That s the lesson of the civil rights movement. Throughout any
movement in U.S. history, including the Civil Rights Movement people had to make
sacrifices in order to fight for what they believe to be right. Some people even lost
their lives, which are some of the sacrifices Pink is trying to tell us in her song, but she
never will give up not matter the circumstances. The song, Wild Hearts Can t Be
Broken, relates to the Civil Rights Movement because they both represent how groups of
people never gave up for what they believe in. Throughout the song, Wild Hearts Can t
Be Broken, Pink talks about the rage, terror, and sickness that is... Show more content on

Some examples of these were: African Americans can t play together, they can t attend
the same restaurants, schools, or even restrooms, and that white nurses in hospitals can t
help an African Americanmale. From these laws came sacrifices that African
Americans had to endure, even to the point of death. A couple of the important deaths
were Emmett Till who got killed after he flirted with a white girl, and George Lee who
tried to expose some of the Jim Crow Laws, and died during one of his protests. These
deaths were quite common until a man named, Martin Luther King Jr. came into the
picture. At the beginning of his campaign he wanted three things to happen: Bring
publicity to major civil rights activities and efforts, emphasize and encourage the
importance of non violent protest and resistance, provide leadership to the African
American civil rights movement. He did just that throughout the Civil Rights
Movement, and was a major contributor to the ending of the movement in 1968. In both
the Civil Rights Movement and the song Wild Hearts Can t Be Broken, they both had
to make sacrifices, but neither of them stopped them from reaching their goal. By never
giving up for what they believe in, African Americans in the Civil Rights Movement,
and people in the song, Wild Hearts Can t Be Broken, both made sacrifices for they

than 100 members of the KKK ambush the Freedom Riders in Anniston AL, attacking
the Greyhound bus, smashing windows, slashing tires. The bus tried to flee the
scene, but the attackers gave chase, halting the bus on the outskirts of town, and then
setting it on fire with Molotov s. The mob traps the Freedom Rides on the other side of
the doors shut to burn the Riders alive. Luckily, The Alabama Highway Patrol has an
undercover cop on board and He pulls his gun to force the KKK back, and people
suddenly tumble off the bus barely escaping with their lives just before the gas tanks

while other Freedom Riders are assaulted. When the violence weakens, a 12 year old
American girl who lives nearby defies the taunts and insults of the KKK to bring water
for the bleeding Riders who are still choking from the smoke. For daring to help the
injured Riders, she and her family are later banned and forced to
Essay on Ice Packs an Endothermic Reaction
* .
Introduction
Endothermic reactions are accompanied by the absorption of heat. The dissolving of
ammonium nitrate in water is an example of an endothermic reaction. The solution
resulting from this mixture is colder than either the ammonium nitrate or the water. This
is the simple explanation of what happens in an instant ice pack. The more detailed
information will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
Cold Packs
Most cold packs come with a fabric cover made to absorb condensation and to protect
the skin from contacting the surface of the cold pack. Cold packs are used for injury or
muscle relief. The cold pack contains two bags one containing water and the other
containing ammonium chloride. Once the ammonium chloride is ... Show more content

This cooling reaction occurs instantaneously but lasts for about an hour. How does this
reaction sustain itself for twenty minutes? This question will be answered later in this
explanation.
The type of cold pack presented here contains ammonium nitrate, which is a white
crystalline substance. When these crystals react with water they split into positive
ammonium ions and negative nitrate ions. Due to the energy expended by the water in
order to dissolve these crystals, the water becomes colder.
Chemical Reaction
Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), is classified as a salt. The salt family of chemicals
contains ions, which are particles with electrical charges. Due to the fact that opposite
polarity ions attract each other, they form a solid crystal that is called salt. This when
seen by the naked eye seem like a simple reaction. Bu, in reality this occurs in two
different steps and each step a change of energy takes place.
The first step is the separation of the solid crystals back into separate ions, a positive
ammonium ion and a negative nitrate ion. The break these ionic bonds requires a lot of
energy which means heat must be taken from the surrounding water. The second step the
water molecules, which are H2O, are attracted to the ions and attach themselves to the
ions. The second step actually causes heat to be produced to the surrounding liquid
mixture. .Even
Moving Away at a Young Age Essay
Moving Away at a Young Age
Moving far away from family and friends can be tough on a child at a young age. It has
its pros and cons. One learns how to deal with moving away from the people they love
and also learn how to deal with adjusting to new ways of life. Everything seems so
different and at a young age one feels like they have just left the whole world behind
them. That was an experience that changed my life as a person. It taught me how to deal
with change and how to adjust. It developed me from a young boy into a mature young
man.
The day I moved away, a lot of things were going through my young mind. As I took my
last look at my home, I remembered all the fun times I had with my family and friends

So I thought being a funny or being a class clown would make the children accept me and
know me as the funny guy from Detroit. That had its ups and downs. I got in trouble
sometimes, but on the other hand I was making friend. As the years passed, I got more
comfortable with Virginia and my life as an individual. I started playing sports in
middle school and quickly became popular because of my athleticism. My adjustment to
my new lifestyle was a slow but patient and rewarding process.
My new lifestyle has changed me for the better. I have come outside of my shell, and
am happy with where I am in life. I have become more mature and I have learned to
just be myself, and people respect that. I probably wouldn?t be as successful in school
and sports. Making this adjustment from a violent and negative atmosphere to a
peaceful and positive setting to me was a good move for my family and I. I am now a
college student athlete at Old Dominion University, and life is treating me fair for now.
Many people go through the same situation that I went through when they are young. It
was a tough time in my life, and it has made me a much stronger human being,
physically and mentally. I feel stable and relaxed and I am comfortable with who I
associate with, and my adjustment to my new environment. I often visit Michigan, but
when I am there I feel homesick and want to go back to Virginia. My family supports
me on all levels and friends back home. My younger siblings and
The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process
Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a
continuous flow of decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision making
is defined as a cognitive process in which a choice is developed regarding a belief or
course of action from among two or more alternatives (Robbins Judge, 2009).
Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a problem, a perceived deviation
linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins, 2009). For example, in
the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make treatments more
accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices are used frequently
so they quickly become worn. They must be checked periodically to ensure structural
stability and compliance with infectious control regulations. Employees are given the
task of examining the devices, making decisions regarding the condition of the devices,
and reporting what needs to be replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind
that incessant replacement of these devices is costly and can cause interruptions in
patient care. Managers and employees should compose optimal decisions regarding the
care and replacement of such devices in order to be effective, efficient, and productive.
Rational Decision Making Model One process discussed in organizational behavior for
decision making is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model employs six steps
for decision making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision
Stem Cell Paper . Framework. No Medical Advancement Has
STEM CELL PAPER
FRAMEWORK
No medical advancement has ever been met with unanimous acceptance because it is in
the nature of man to not only question the present but the future. Stem cell research
currently presents itself as the nearest medical advancement in time of strong contentious
social and political climate. The debates on the scientific, political, and ethical
implications are intertwined in a discourse that practically leaves the United States at a
standstill in amidst this scientific revolution. Some of the questions that seem to
permeate this intersecting debates include what is a stem cell and what are the
implications of the different type that exist? Also, how will stem cell research and use

This is because of the marker molecules that has to be adjusted to the recipient of the
stem cells (Okarma,2011. p. 10). On the other hand, as Rader explains, unlike embryonic
stem cells which require a somatic nuclear transplant to control against rejection, fetal
stem cells have no antigenicity (Rader,). As earlier noted, most of the sources heavily
focused on distinguishing adult stem cells from embryonic stem cells while indirectly
categorizing fetal stem cells under the latter category. Due to this fact and in light of the
differences outline above, this paper will draw on the debates surrounding embryonic
stem cells in terms of science, politics and ethics in speaking on fetal stem cell research.
THE INTERTWINED DEBATES
The scientific debate surrounding stem cell research, whether embryonic or fetal, rest
primarily on the question of motive. Rader takes the pro position, arguing that stem
(fetal) cell research and application has shown in its observations and through his
results that it has undoubtable potential. He argues this by giving an anecdote of a
fellow doctor, Dr. Deniss Nigro, whose stage four cancer practically left him without a
choice. As the story goes, Dr. Deniss Nigro, an equally reputable doctor came to learn
the benefits of fetal stem cells (Rader, 2010). However, the opposing position argues that
the results that Rader s patient attributed to the fetal stem cell therapy
Differences Between The Help Book And Movie
The Help, Kathryn Stockett s novel and film discuss the story of African American
maids working in white Southern homes for the upper class white people during the
early 1960 s in Jackson, Mississippi. There are multiple dissimilarities between the novel,
The Help and the film, The Help . Even though the administrator managed to keep the
same storyline, there still are not as many similarities as differences in the filmand novel.
To begin with, the director had kept many of the characters appearances and personalities
the same in the film as in the novel. Some disparities were that in the novel Skeeter is
hefty and tall, but the movie has her lean and average height. Hilly is portrayed in the
book as an dark haired woman, whose weight enlarged throughout the ending of book, but
in the film, she is very thin and stays that way throughout the whole film. Also in the
film, Skeeter s maid Constantine, is smaller than Skeeter although in the book it says that
Constantine is the only person who made Skeeter feel tiny and short. Lastly, Constantine
s daughter in the movie Rachel, is an African American, but in the novel, it says she may
have a white daughter or even no daughter. In the book, the Skeeter s family finds out
Constantine is dead when sending a personal check to her and her daughter sends it
back saying she has passed away. In the film, Skeeter s mother says that her brother went
to go bring Constantine back, but he finds out she has passed away. In the movie,

Problem Analysis Heather Evans is a very recent graduate from Harvard Business School
and has been working on getting her venture off the ground for quite some time. She
has the know how and skill in her industry but not the funds. This is why she is
seeking out investors. This is proving to be more difficult and time consuming than
she had anticipated. I think most people have this experience at one time or another
especially if they are starting their own business. The great ideas of the world do not
always get all the support in the world. To make matters worse, Evans has invested
plenty of her personal funds in the business and has hired a few employees. In essence
she has put a lot of skin in the game. So there is no option of just deciding that the
venture was not a success. To put the icing on the cake it seemed for a little while that
Evans had found a sole investor. However after seeing the unprofessional manner and
lack of attention to Evans that was shown by the investor, Evans decided not to pursue
the possibility of this investor. Without fund Evans may be forced to abandon the
venture. And time is pressing against her. With a lot of personal funds already invested
she has a limited window of time that she will have before she will not have enough
money to sustain herself while the business grows to where she could take a salary
The Australian Constitution
The Australian Constitution was drafted at a series of constitutional conventions held in
the 1890s. It was passed by the British Parliament as part of the Commonwealth of
Australia Constitution Act 1900 and took effect on 1 January 1901. The Constitution is
the legal framework for how Australia is governed and it can only be changed by
referendum.
A constitution is a set of rules by which a country or state is run.
Some countries have unwritten constitutions which means there is no formal constitution
written in one particular document. Their constitutional rules are derived from a number
of sources. Britain sources its constitution from a number of important statutes, or laws,
as well as principles decided in legal cases and conventions. New Zealand and Israel are
two other countries that do not have formal written constitutions.
Other countries have formal written constitutions in which the structure of government is
defined and the respective powers of the nation and the states are written in one single
document. These systems may also include unwritten conventions and constitutional law,
which can inform how the constitution is interpreted. Australia, India and the United
States are examples of countries with a written constitution.
Some constitutions may be amended without any special procedure. The documents that
make up the New Zealand Constitution may be amended simply by a majority vote of its
Parliament. In other countries a special procedure must be followed
Photo Enforced-Red Light Camera Controversy Essay
Red Light Cameras, Is their Only Purpose For Revenue? by Maria Protine
CM223 06AU Instructor Ream February 15, 2010 The debate over whether red light
cameras are effective or not can cause a great divide among any group of people.
Proponents of the cameras say that they are effective in reducing accidents and those
against them are adamant that they are only in place to increase revenues for local law
enforcement. This paper will bring forth facts that indicate that red light cameras are in

Rispo interviewed professor and chair of health policy and management of University
of South Florida College of Public Health who said, The rigorous studies clearly show
red light cameras don t work, instead they increase crashes and injuries as drivers attempt
to abruptly stop at camera intersections. (Rispo, 2009) Many drivers who slam on their
brakes to avoid the red light cameras have other drivers behind them who are not
anticipating the abrupt stop and who may be following too closely, thus resulting in a
rear end collision. Revenues generated from red light tickets is staggering. A web
article written by MSNBC gives these examples: Albany Oregon, population 48,000,
issued 1,119 red light tickets for $77,200 in 2008. St. Peters Missouri, population
55,000, 3,203 red light tickets for $235,973. The city issued 14,836 traffic tickets in 2006,
but the number jumped to 21,745 in 2008, the first full year with the cameras.
(MSNBC, 2009) Los Angeles made over $4 million in red light violation fines in
2008. (Goldstein, 2009) The Chief of police in Clive Iowa, a Des Moines suburb, says,
With the number of calls for service our city generates, we can t devote that much time
to red light enforcement, Cox said. We were missing a lot of violations. (MSNBC, 2009)
Perhaps it is the revenue they are missing that prompted the cameras. When one city sees
another making lots of

Buck Vs Bell Case Study
Buck vs. Bell
During the twentieth century, the United States Supreme Court passed laws that
sparked a time where grotesque discrimination and outright injustice towards all races
and gender ran amuck. The United States Supreme court supported a claim that those
who were deemed feebleminded were a hazard to society, and to protect the nation s
gene pool by keeping the lesser classes from reproducing, they needed to be sterilized.
Carrie Buck, notoriously known for her Case against the supreme court shows an
unquestionable detail just how deplorable such a government was. In this essay I will
illustrate the different types of ethical principles and how they were violated in the 1927
case of Buck vs. Bell.
In the early 1900 s Industrialization boosted the economy, giving rise to capitalism and
gave the upper hand to monopolized corporations. As stated by David Oshinsky, in

Sex Offender Recidivism Statistics
Sex crimes are a major problem in the United States, especially in certain states such as
California. Legislators have passed numerous laws to try to reduce the number of
victims. One of the measurements taken to reduce recidivism is the sex offender
registry, which is a system designed to keep track of those convicted of a sex offense.
There are websites now available that contain the sex offenders name, address, and
photograph. The registries main purpose is to prevent future sex crimes and to reduce
recidivism. The sex registry was set up with good intentions; however over the years
more and more people are on the list without fitting the definition of a sex offender,
making the registry unfair and ineffective. Sex offender registry... Show more content on

These offenders are people who had consensual sexual relationships with a minor.
Sometimes the offender is also a minor, but is older than the other partner. The older
person is then charged with statutory rape and are forced to register as a sex offender
even though there was no force used. This law is in place to prevent older persons
from taking advantage of a minor; however, this is completely unfair, especially if the
offender is also a minor. Some opponents might say that Romeo and Juliet offenders
should be on the registry because their sole purpose is to take advantage of minor to
meet their needs. This is true and all Romeo and Juliet offenders should pay for the
offense in some way; however, their names should not be on the registry and
definitely not for life. Alternatives penalties include paying a fine, doing community
service, going to counseling, and have the their name on the registry for a short term
if the age gap is greater than five years or if the offense is committed more than once.
For most offenders, these are foolish mistakes that they made in their teenage years,
and therefore shouldn t pay for it all their life. In addition, there are couples who are
happily married even though there is an age gap of five or seven

  • 2. Research Paper On Annie Easley Annie Easley was born on April 23,1933, In Birmingham Alabama. Easley and her brother were raised by thaier single mother Mary Melvin Hoover. Her mother was one of her greatest inspirations and her role model, she always encouraged her to get a good education. In an oral history interview with NASA, she said that her motheralways used to tell her You can be anything you want to. It doesn t matter what you look like, what your size is, what your color is. You can be anything you want to, but you do have to work at it. Annie Easley attended schoolin Birmingham and graduated as the valedictorian of her grade. At that time Easly Wanted to become a nurse because she thought it was one of the only careers open to black women. However, later on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of that would be during a laboratory open house, where a photo of her and the rest of her co workers was blown up and put on display, with the exception of her face which was purposely cut out of the picture. She was very embarrassed about it but she didn t let it affect her. In an interview with NASA she said When people have their biases and prejudices, yes, I am aware. My head is not in the sand. But my thing is, if I can t work with you, I will work around you. I was not about to be discouraged that I d walk away. That may be a solution for some people, but it s not mine . Another obstacle she faced was her inability to get a good education as others because of her skin colour. Back at her time, there was a lot of discrimination.which resulted in a separation of schools for black and white people. The schools with black kids typically had a worse education. She was also unable to continue her study as a pharmacist because she got married and had to move. Though all of that happened to her It didn t stop her from becoming a great computer programmer, mathematician, and a rocket scientist for NASA who helped make modern spaceflight possible with her calculations. Everything she has done and all the obstacles she has faced are reasons that make her a very notable
  • 3. Unit 9 D1 Research Before we created our promotional materials such as posters, leaflets and flyers, we had to make sure that we were able to find a suitable price in which we can budget according to our finances. During our research, we were able to locate a suitable printing agency in which we could print our promotional materials in bulk, so we could hand out in the local area to help promote the business. The advantage of the agency we chose for printing our material was that they were able to print our promotional materials within 2 working days and that any deliveries that took place could be tracked on the website when u log on to it, this to make sure that the delivery is going according to plan. By selecting the amount we though would be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason behind this decision was that we believed that consumers would be more likely to read a poster that had a limited amount of writing on the poster rather than having a jammed pack poster full of writing and fewer pictures. By just stating the important points and more use of pictures proved to be more eye catching for us and potential consumers. This could help achieve the aims of this organisation as students and working class people could notice this poster when they shop at local newsagents or public areas when they go to work or college. Although these won t be distributed to houses like leaflets, they will be situated at public areas such as on buses or some of the local shops nearby. This would increase customer awareness of the business on a whole or be a drawback as some people like the elderly who do not shop as often as other student are more likely to miss the poster rather than students who walk past on a day to day
  • 4. Ophelia And Gertrude Gender Roles In Hamlet The play Hamlet explores gender roles throughout it s acts. The female characters Ophelia and Gertrude emphasize the way women were treated at the time in Elizabethan England. Through the actions other characters you can see how Hamlet reflects the oppression that other women faced during their time. Prince Hamlet is a prime example of a man who disrespects and disregards women and their feelings. Throughout the play, Prince Hamlet manipulates Ophelia multiple times. For example, in Act 2 Scene 1, Ophelia states My lord, as I was sewing in my closet, Lord Hamlet, with his doublet all unbrac d; No hat upon his head; his stockings foul d, Ungarter d, and down gyved to his ancle; 90 Pale as his shirt; his knees knocking each other; And with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After King Hamlet died, she marries his brother, King Claudius. This action upsets her son and he has many disrespectful things to say about it, such as That it should come to this! But two months dead: nay, not so much, not two: so excellent a king that was to this, Hyperion to a satyr, so loving to my mother... Frailty, thy name is woman! Hamlet criticizes and insults his own mother, the lady who raised him. This blatant disrespect for females does not even stop for his mother. This exemplifies how women who remarried were viewed. They were not respected and considered weak for not being able to live as a widow for the rest of their life. At the very end of the play, Queen Gertrude accidentally drinks the poisoned wine meant for Hamlet (V.ii.26 28.) Before she drank the wine. King Claudius told her not to, yet she disobeyed and did so anyways. This is the first time she disobeyed King Claudius, it is also the last time because she dies shortly after drinking the wine. This conveys a message that women should not disobey men because they will ultimately be punished, or in this case, wind up dead. It was a very prevalent idea in Elizabethan England that a woman should follow her husband s orders and this scene strengthens that ideal. According to the play Hamlet, women should be submissive and men should be

My husband had surgery, I had auditors at work since Monday, and, on Tuesday, a member of the family passed away. The importance of organizational justice cannot be overlooked in today competitive business where individual, group, team, leadership, and organizational behavior are paramount. The diversity behaviors need to be treated with extreme caution as they can make or break an organization. The development of a competent and reliable workforce that promotes the organization s growth can be realized by advancing two components of organizational justice distributive and procedural. Largely, organizational justice is associated with workplace
  • 6. Nursing Mobility And Safety Mobility and safety are two nursing topics that are very related. Safety is the key to ensure that the patient can remain mobile. It is important that the patient has ways to move around without fear of falling. It is also imperative that the patient knows how to move safely and use mobility devices. The nurse needs to understand how these two topics go together to ensure that the patient will remained unharmed at the hospital and in the home. As stated earlier, safetyis so important to make sure that patient keeps their mobility. The surroundings need to be safe to prevent falls. When falls are prevented, the patient remains mobile. One safety precautions to ensure that falls do not happen is to have a clear area for the patient to be able to walk around. This means not having objects in their pathway or rugs in their walkway. • 7. Lucy Monologue The thing that scared us the most was when the Red Robin that was supposedly leading the way flew off, and then that s when we realized that we were lost, hungry, with no shelter while it was cold. But then suddenly we heard some rattling in the bushes and we we re cautious but then a little cute beaver poked it s head out, it didn t come towards us but it was signaling to follow him. So we did, and he showed us that he had Lucy s handkerchief that she had given the Faun before she left Narnia, that made us trust him because the Faun had given it to him. It took quite a long time, lots of hills and walking, being hungry and tired didn t help the fact that it was cold to. When we finally arrived we met wonderful Mrs. Beaver and she was cooking
  • 8. Fundamental of Laws INTENTION We would first need to establish if there is a valid and legally binding contract formation between Iris ( the offeror ) before deciding on the likely outcomes for the parties. A proper contract constitutes an offer, an acceptance, the provision of a consideration of value and parties intention to legal relations. There was no depute as to the presence of a valid offer because Iris did indeed make an offer to sell the piano for a specific price and its terms i.e. keeping the offer open for Diana till noon on Saturday, were communicated to Diana. In return, Diana had also put up her consideration towards the formation of the contract by making an effort to raise the money needed to buy the aforementioned piano from Iris.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, Iris promise to hold the piano till Saturday was not legally binding. Thus, the offer was invalid. ACCEPTANCE There are two elements for acceptance to be valid. At law, acceptance must be Final and Unqualified. The general rule is that acceptance is effective only when is communicated to the offeror. Diana s acceptance is final and unqualified as she phoned and left a message with Iris s daughter, Athena, saying that she got the money and would collect the piano on Saturday morning. However, the acceptance was not communicated to Iris as Athena forgot to pass the message to Iris. Thus, Diana s acceptance of offer is invalid as it does not fulfill the requirements for the acceptance to be effective. The acceptance was not communicated to the offeror. REVOCATION At law, offeror may revoke an offer at any time prior to the offer being accepted even if the offeror has promised not to revoke it Routledge v Grant Notice of revocation is crucial; it is not effective unless the offeree knows it. Offeror are entitled to change their minds and withdraw offers at any time right up to the moment of acceptance. An offer can be revoked by the offeror any time before it is accepted. This is analogous to the case of Byrne amp; Co v Leon Tienhoven amp; Co (1880) Personal notification is usual, but is not essential as long as the offeree knew or reasonably
  • 9. The Influence Of Pro Social And Anti-Social Behavior Introduction The media and advertisement is a great way to promote new products, persuade others, or even influence behavior. The content of the advertisement can easily promote both pro social and anti social behavior depending on the content. When this behavior is studied and theory is applied, individuals can better understand why people behave the way they do and also raise social awareness. The clips Bystander Effect and Bottle Bank Arcade Machine show excellent examples of both pro social and anti social behavior. An advertisement by the Red Cross also pulls on the heart strings to promote pro social behavior, while an ad by Duncan Quinn also depicts anti social behavior with a gritty image depicting sexual violence against women. Bystander Effect: Pro social and Anti Social Behavior In the clip Bystander Effect , a social experiment is done to see how bystanders would respond to a girl potentially being abducted (The Today Show, n.d.). The experiment is recorded and observed from afar to witness how people responded. In this clip, there are various examples of pro social and anti social behavior to note. Unfortunately, the clip is made up of primarily anti social behavior. All but one set of people chose not to respond to the situation. Instead, they kept on walking and chose not to get involved. These individuals seemed to not want to have to be in the middle of the situation, or take responsibility for what may or may not be happening with the adult
  • 10. The Current Generation Of School Age The current generation of people of school age and in the young adults age group is among the earliest to grow up in the age where Internet usage plays a near pivotal role in society. Naturally, this also leads to the fact that this demographic is most affected by Internet addiction. In fact, a study conducted using four years of information from the Korean Information Society Agency concluded that the higher the level of school, the higher the Internetaddictionratio. The highest level of school in this study was university level. (Jun, 2015) This fact is important because university level is almost entirely associated with young adults, which is the age group this paper focuses on. What is also important is that university level is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the higher the level of internet addiction a student was facing, the more likely the student had trouble with time management. Proceeding to the next hypothesis statement, it was found that time management was directly proportional to academic performance. Therefore, by inference, it can be stated that high levels of internet addiction will likely result in poor academic performances. The second case to be reviewed is a study that took place among 594 in patients, aged ten to 24 years old, of one of the largest Internet addiction clinics in China. (Jiang, 2014) The study aimed to investigate the relationships between internet addiction, internet connectedness, wherein various factors of Internet usage are considered to measure an individual s Internet usage pattern, and online gaming. Online gaming is a major contributing factor to Internet addiction, particularly in the young adult male demographic. (Hsu Yu, 2007) Due to online games massive immersion and interaction features, they can be really engaging and time consuming, as well as give the player a sense of belonging. The data retrieved from the surveyed patients were split into 5 parts, namely: Internet connectedness, online gaming, Internet addiction symptoms, academic performance decrement, and demographics. The results showed a strong correlation between the hypothesized aspects.
  • 11. Essay on Pastoral Ministry Christ is the leader of the Church, Paul in Ephesians 1:22 said God placed everything under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the Church however, God entrusted the authority to lead to his servant whom he set them aside to lead the community. Pastor as a public Leadership is to lead community. A person who is called by Godto lead public has a responsibility to be in the community, with the community and for the community. One of best questions raised in the class during public leadership discussion was How we can be a community pastor rather than just a church pastor? This really a kind of question we are to consider as pastor especially as rural congregation pastor. In most cases when pastor are called to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, God is able to give breakthrough once he called his people to ministry, that is why Paul said I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13) It is not an easy task to carry out public leadership, you have to know almost everything, counseling marriage on the verge breaking down, baptizing dying babies, administering Holy Communion for dying individuals, leading marriage ceremony with unusual and complicated scenario. It is also not easy to accept ministry as God calling rather than as job placement or vocational opportunity. It is tough to accept the people, their culture, tradition and the whole identity. God called us to ministry so that we will be able exercise his full authority (Matt 28:16 18) with full humility (Philippians 2:6, 2Cor 8:9, Rom 5:6 8). We have to deny ourselves and follow the footsteps of Jesus our Lord (Luke 9:23). Finally a pastor has to know the distinctions of Authority and power. It is not uncommon to see pastors are using power instead of the authority God given them. . Authority is responsibility that derived from someone greater than us. That means the full responsibility
  • 12. Web And Content Management Systems What is WordPress? It seems that the internet is filled with blogs. That s not an observation, it s a fact. Wherever we look on the web, we find blogs about everything from AA meetings, to taking the drug Zytiga. For most people, starting a blog is a daunting process. Without knowledge of HTML and CSS it would seem impossible, and for the average person, that used to be true. That is until the creation of self publishing/content management systems(CMS) like WordPress(WP). WP was originally created as new blogging platform in 2003. It was based on an older, and soon to be defunct, platform called b2 /cafelog. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were the founding developers of WP and sought to take on the platform leader Moveable Type. Now WP powers around 20% of all websites. These aren t just personal blogs, but corporate news and business sites as well. What makes WP desirable to is the cost, and ease of use. WP is open source, so the software is free to use with any hosting providers (as of 2017 only providers that offer an SSL will be able to offer WP with their hosting). Ease of use comes in the form of using the dashboard to publish content, and style the website. This is ideal for someone that has no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Giving this kind of usability to everyone, makes it possible for the average user to make a place for themselves on the web. How does WordPress create a webpage? Now that we know a little about what WP is, we need to understand how it
  • 13. Color Morphism Lab Report Sexual selection and genetic color polymorphisms in animals Introduction: Genetic color polymorphism is an ideal model system, which can be used to study evolutionary stages for numerous reasons. First, high heritability can be shown from genetic basis that color morphs provide. Second, separate color morphs can provide visual markers and can be seen in isolated individuals when observing selection in the wild. With use of morph frequencies, genotype frequencies can be detected easily and derive allelic frequency modifications over space and time. There have been numerous Drosophila studies that have used visual eye marker phenotypes to study evolutionary changes, which have been shown that color morphs can be correlated to strong natural and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such effect will enhance the heterozygote disadvantage and promote stable polymorphism emergence as recessive alleles being masked in the process. Genomic architectures tend to favor speciation by either eliminating or reducing recombination between traits that are correlated with reproductive isolation. Such changes in recombination rate can occur via synergistic pleiotropy, which result in magic traits. Magic trait models suggest there is a link between reproductive isolation and ecological trait. As a result, the ecological trait will produce reproductive isolation as a by product and as correlated response. When fitness advantage passes across multiple consecutive generations, it will affect several phenotypic traits in a certain population, such as: physiology and behaviors, in addition to the alteration of the population s morph sequences by fitness consistency. Natural and sexual selection can work together as they do in different color morphs. In general, this study shows the tremendous effect of natural and sexual selection on the evolutionary process especially when they act concordantly on a certain trait. As a result, the target population will experience a stronger evolutionary pressure when the two selections (natural and sexual) work in one

The expansion was a very great thing for the countries that did it and benefitted them greatly and made them richer. The bad part of the explorations was that it harshly affected the native people by taking their land, spreading diseases, enslaving them, and forcefully converting them to christianity. The Europeans in the late 1400 s to early 1500 s developed new technology to travel further and more efficiently. Pheochromocytoma Essay Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PCC/PGL) are sporadic neuroendocrine catecholamine secreting tumors derived from the chromaffin cells in the adrenal medulla or extra adrenal ganglia, respectively (1). The tumors are rare, having low incidence rate of two to eight per million people with a high occurring in third to fourth decade of life. Mostly, PCC/PGL is benign, however sometimes associated with high morbidity and mortality due to mass effect and high circulating catecholamines. To understand how the country was almost at the brink of collapsing, one must survey one of the prominent political actors during the decade: the student movement. According to William H. Chafe in The Unfinished Journey, the student movement emerged from the feeling that President John F. Kennedys insistent call for the young to fulfill America s unfulfilled promises was a mandate for action. Yet, the conclusions made about the student movement in the 1960s are still contested today. Personal fulfillment was to be realized through civic participation . However, Steigerwald argues that the deepest flaw of the student movement was that it could encourage mere rebelliousness masquerading as radicalism, a phony radicalism that saw politics as a vehicle for exhibitionism and self assertion rather than change . Steigerwald s critique questions whether the student movement actually aimed to challenge the apparent status quo of the American political landscape. A couple of the important deaths were Emmett Till who got killed after he flirted with a white girl, and George Lee who tried to expose some of the Jim Crow Laws, and died during one of his protests. These deaths were quite common until a man named, Martin Luther King Jr. came into the picture. The dissolving of ammonium nitrate in water is an example of an endothermic reaction. The solution resulting from this mixture is colder than either the ammonium nitrate or the water. This is the simple explanation of what happens in an instant ice pack. The more detailed information will be discussed in the following paragraphs. Cold Packs Most cold packs come with a fabric cover made to absorb condensation and to protect the skin from contacting the surface of the cold pack. Cold packs are used for injury or muscle relief. This cooling reaction occurs instantaneously but lasts for about an hour. How does this reaction sustain itself for twenty minutes? This question will be answered later in this explanation. The type of cold pack presented here contains ammonium nitrate, which is a white crystalline substance. When these crystals react with water they split into positive ammonium ions and negative nitrate ions. Due to the energy expended by the water in order to dissolve these crystals, the water becomes colder. Chemical Reaction Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), is classified as a salt. The salt family of chemicals contains ions, which are particles with electrical charges. Due to the fact that opposite polarity ions attract each other, they form a solid crystal that is called salt. This when seen by the naked eye seem like a simple reaction. Bu, in reality this occurs in two different steps and each step a change of energy takes place. The first step is the separation of the solid crystals back into separate ions, a positive ammonium ion and a negative nitrate ion. The break these ionic bonds requires a lot of energy which means heat must be taken from the surrounding water. The second step the water molecules, which are H2O, are attracted to the ions and attach themselves to the ions. The second step actually causes heat to be produced to the surrounding liquid mixture. .Even

  • 23. The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a continuous flow of decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision making is defined as a cognitive process in which a choice is developed regarding a belief or course of action from among two or more alternatives (Robbins Judge, 2009). Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a problem, a perceived deviation linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins, 2009). For example, in the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make treatments more accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices are used frequently so they quickly become worn. They must be checked periodically to ensure structural stability and compliance with infectious control regulations. Employees are given the task of examining the devices, making decisions regarding the condition of the devices, and reporting what needs to be replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind that incessant replacement of these devices is costly and can cause interruptions in patient care. Managers and employees should compose optimal decisions regarding the care and replacement of such devices in order to be effective, efficient, and productive. Rational Decision Making Model One process discussed in organizational behavior for decision making is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model employs six steps for decision making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision

As earlier noted, most of the sources heavily focused on distinguishing adult stem cells from embryonic stem cells while indirectly categorizing fetal stem cells under the latter category. Due to this fact and in light of the differences outline above, this paper will draw on the debates surrounding embryonic stem cells in terms of science, politics and ethics in speaking on fetal stem cell research. THE INTERTWINED DEBATES The scientific debate surrounding stem cell research, whether embryonic or fetal, rest primarily on the question of motive. Rader takes the pro position, arguing that stem (fetal) cell research and application has shown in its observations and through his results that it has undoubtable potential. He argues this by giving an anecdote of a fellow doctor, Dr. Deniss Nigro, whose stage four cancer practically left him without a choice. As the story goes, Dr. Deniss Nigro, an equally reputable doctor came to learn the benefits of fetal stem cells (Rader, 2010). However, the opposing position argues that the results that Rader s patient attributed to the fetal stem cell therapy

It was passed by the British Parliament as part of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 and took effect on 1 January 1901. The Constitution is the legal framework for how Australia is governed and it can only be changed by referendum. A constitution is a set of rules by which a country or state is run. Some countries have unwritten constitutions which means there is no formal constitution written in one particular document. Their constitutional rules are derived from a number of sources. Britain sources its constitution from a number of important statutes, or laws, as well as principles decided in legal cases and conventions. New Zealand and Israel are two other countries that do not have formal written constitutions. Other countries have formal written constitutions in which the structure of government is defined and the respective powers of the nation and the states are written in one single document. These systems may also include unwritten conventions and constitutional law, which can inform how the constitution is interpreted. Australia, India and the United States are examples of countries with a written constitution. Some constitutions may be amended without any special procedure. The documents that make up the New Zealand Constitution may be amended simply by a majority vote of its Parliament. In other countries a special procedure must be followed

One of the measurements taken to reduce recidivism is the sex offender registry, which is a system designed to keep track of those convicted of a sex offense. There are websites now available that contain the sex offenders name, address, and photograph. The registries main purpose is to prevent future sex crimes and to reduce recidivism. Sometimes the offender is also a minor, but is older than the other partner. This law is in place to prevent older persons from taking advantage of a minor; however, this is completely unfair, especially if the offender is also a minor.
