Marquis de Layafette
Marquis de Lafayette Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette, Marquis de
La Fayette, a wealthy French nobleman, played a quietly prominent role in America s struggle for
independence from the British. La Fayette s unwavering dedication to the pursuit of liberty, his
skill as military officer, his ability to secure vital resources, and his impressive connections to the
French Royal family and other key players of this era made him an invaluable asset in the American
Revolution, and a significant piece of the French Revolution.
La Fayette was born on September 6, 1757 in the Castle of Chavagnac, in the southern region of
France to a distinguished noble family. His lineage was already renowned throughout France for ...

In fact, the bond was so strong, that at the Battle of Valley Forge in the winter of 1777, when a
cluster of jealous officers interested in trying to have a sentiment developed against Washington to
have Congress relieve him of the command of the Continental Army, they were unable to gain the
support of Lafayette, who in turn wrote a long letter to Washington in which he pledged his
loyalty to the General. Washington replied to Lafayette in a letter that was marked by his sincere
appreciation. In due course the proposed scheme of the few officers failed, as it was doomed to
fail from the beginning. The soldiers and officers at Valley Forge were fiercely loyal to their
commander, and the members of Congress realized that Washington was a strong and patriotic
leader.
Following the harsh and bitter winter in Valley Forge, Lafayette kept the colonists spirits high and
burnished his credentials as an intelligent leader whilst helping to draw more French resources to
the colonial side. In May 1778, he outsmarted the British soldiers sent to capture him at Bunker Hill
which was later renamed Lafayette Hill and rallied a Continental attack at Monmouth Courthouse to
force a stalemate. Lafayette repeatedly traveled back and forth to France to press Louis XVI for
more aid, and in return he assumed increased military responsibility upon his return to battle. As
commander of the

Analysis Of Coulomb s Law Defines The Force
Introduction
Coulomb s Law defines the Force acting upon two charged objects relative to their charge that they
hold as well as the distance between them. The interaction between these two charges occur through
non contact which is prevalent over the distance between them. Vectors are most commonly used
to represent the force between two charged points. Being that is a force acting upon these two
charged objects the strength of the interaction between these two charges is a vector quantity
(Physics Classroom, 2015). The direction of these vectors is dependent on the type of charge on
these two points, like charges repel each other therefore they will have a negative force acting upon
them, as they repel each other. Opposite and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The direction of the force is also directed along the same line which joins the to charges together.
As stated before it can either be an attractive or repuslive force dependant on the charges.
This law however can only be used to calculate the force between two point charges, a point charge
is defined as an object that has a constant charge and mass however the charge doesn t contain any
size or extension.
The Van De Graaff generatorworks by inducing a charge on top of a metal conductive surface, A
rubber belt is passed through two different materials which causes a charge to be produced. There
are small combs at the top of the generator which comb electrons from the belt onto the
conductive ball which spread across the surface producing a net charge of the surface. The top of
the Van De Graaff generator is circular which will act as point charge when the charge has evenly
distributed itself across the surface.
Aim
The aim of this experiment is to determine whether or not the force of attraction between two point
charges is accurately modelled by coulomb s law and that the force of attraction between two point
charges decreases at the rate of 1/r2.
Hypothesis
It is hypothesised that the force of attraction due to the charged grounding ball on the neutral
Styrofoam ball will follow coulomb s law and the force of attraction will decrease inversely

Creating A Collaborative Process Among Students
INTRODUCTION
Focus and main aims of the research
The main focus is to create a collaborative process among the students to encourage them in
learning and interacting with others.
Keep them enthusiastic about learning, make them energetic. Give a shape to their daily work that
they can see the result of their own work.
Create a healthy and joyful environment where they can enjoy and make themselves free.
It is to understand the changes in the behavior of students, how they are reacting in different
situations, how they are blending with the class and other students.
Necessity of this research

setup which will give space for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interest of students on different categories like book, games, and toys must be recorded. Their
approach with different elements must be taken care of.
Reading and writing quality in the initial stages and changes in the quality must be noted and
analyzed (Cameron, 2009).
A description of the scenario on which the research was made
This is a place with standard facilities and with good working conditions. The students are here
of many ages. The research tries to cover a class 12 13 year s students. The research has taken
care of the issues like their life outside the school impact of newspapers and television in their life.
It is also noted how the television, magazines effect on their choices (Toloie Eshlaghy et al. 2011).
RESEARCH APPROACH
The approach has been maintained according to the scenario. The ongoing research was done
without letting the students know about it because at this age kids tend to be sensitive. They do
not like any eyes observing them critically. This was taken into mind while doing the research.
Most of the students were from good background, there was no one from deprived background. So,
the research was made taking that into mind. As family matters make marks into mind at this age
thus the information on their life outside school was also noted (Saunders et al. 2008).
Principles of research
The students were not treated like objects in this research. Their development and help was the first

The Pros And Cons Of The Ivy League
The Ivy League is a group of eight private universities located in the Northeastern region of the
United States. The Ivy League has general connotations of academic excellence and elitism,
including universities like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. They are viewed as the most eminent, and
ranked among the finest universities in the world, especially in business, law, and medicine. Each
school receives millions in research grants and other subsidies from federal and state governments,
and universities like Harvard have over $34 billion in endowment funds. With small enrollment
rates, that amounts to a lot of money per student. This allows the Ivy League universities to afford
the resources needed for their academic programs and research endeavors. The Ivy League schools
are highly selective, with low acceptance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This disadvantages bright students who lack upper class resources. Lower class students tend to
make poorly informed, random, or impulse decisions about college: where to go, how to get in, and
what college is about. Given the unlikelihood that their parents have never set foot on a college
campus, academically promising lower class students can become overwhelmed during the
application process. If these students are looking towards applying to top universities like the
Ivy League, they are competing against groomed upper class kids who know how to write
application essays by parents, high school counselors, and professionals paid for by their parents.
Low class students find themselves ignorant about admission requirements, costs of college and
possibilities of financial aid, and how to apply. Most didn t know what to major in to relate to
their professional aspirations. Poorly informed students are more likely to go to college closer to
home, like community colleges or junior colleges, or less prestigious public

Shakespeare School Room Summary
A Review of Shakespeare s School Room Shakespeare s Schoolroom, by Lynn Enterline, explores,
ana lyzes, and discusses the methods used in schools during Shake speare s time that created the
learning environment that shaped his character and therefore his work. The least of these
influences would be the major focus on Latinstudies and translation that re sulted in the ancient
Roman culture and mythology themes that appear in many of his poems and plays. Specific
works will have their origins explained by describing particular teaching tactics. We learn how
these teaching methods, combined with the social ex pectations of English boys, starting at a
young age, influenced both their behavior and their moral beliefs. The question of how a man
such as Shakespeare came to be is answered. Chapters one and two discuss the role of the teacher
and just how central he was in the development of his pupils. During Shakespeare s childhood,
teachers were considered to be the most important adults in a young boys life even more important
than his parents. Teachers were expected to set the perfect example so that their students would
grow to be proper English gentlemen. A great deal of pressure was placed on schoolmasters. Their
appear ance, mannerisms, and speech had to be perfect. Teachers were strong, imposing, and strict
with their students as it was their job to mould impressionable youths into morally upstanding
adults. Schoolmasters required their students to memorize

Essay about btec business level 3 unit 2 d3
D3: Evaluate the problems they have identified from unmonitored costs and budgets
Introduction:
For this task I will be discussing the effects of un monitoring cost and budgets, and seeing how
business could suffer if they are not look after responsibly. I will show disadvantages of not using
this method properly.
A cost of goods is what it should spend to make products. At the start of each period budgetof
production will be ready, using cost of goods and predicted production quantities. At the end of
each period a variance report is prepared to compare the budget costs with the actual costs.
The variance report can tell how well Gardiner Store PLC did at carrying out their budget aims. A
favorable variance shows that actual costs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will have to make people redundant:People redundant can help the business to cut costs, but
there will be not enough staff to work in the supermarket, which some service can t be carried out
to customers. But because firing some staffs can help cut a lot, so they may need to take action.
Other competitors will sell more products: Because the supermarket of Gardiner Stores PLC doesn
t have that much money for input because they need to cut costs to cover the loss of profit on
April, also they make people redundant (explained above), so their competitors will take
advantages on them, so therefore they will sell more product.
Changes in costs
Variances can arise for a large number of reasons:
Errors in estimating
Poor management of resources
Unforeseen price changes
Equipment breakdown
Labor problems
Poor planning
Shortage of raw materials
Budgeting and Variance accounting presume that managers should fix problems, not bury or hide
them. It also presumes that these problems are short term problems, and can be effectively
controlled in the future. Sometimes there is a change in actual costs that necessitates a change in
standard costs. For instance, a new labor contract could increase total labor costs by a predictable
amount. Standard labor costs should be re calculated to reflect the new actual

Conduction I Thermal Radiation Research Paper
Everything in the universe is made up of matter, which is composed of atoms. Atoms move at a
constant rate of motion and the motion of the atoms create or form heat or thermal energy. The
idea or theory of heat was contrived in 1738 by Sir Benjamin Thompson but was gradually
developed by French physicist, Sadi Cornot. Because technology has modernized, the theory of heat
has been developed immensely, which has resulted into variations of forms. Besides the scientific
research that requires heat, heat is also the main component for things such as cooking food. Heat
is identified by components that practice different roles based on the reactions or effects produced.
Heat can only be transferred by conduction, convection, and radiation. Although they categorized
under the same context, heat, they produce effects that varies and separates them.
Conduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of energy that is emitted from the light source is based on the temperature of the object.
Radiation is a form of transferring heat that does not require any direct physical contact between
the source of heat and the object receiving the heat. The electromagnetic form of radiation is
called, infrared radiation, which is that passing of heat in empty space. No mass is exchanged
and no medium is required during this process. Common examples of radiation found in
everyday life is the sun rays giving of heat that effects the organisms that receives the energy of
them indirectly or heat released from light bulb. Thermal energy is a component of life that
affects everything that we do and how things react. The three forms of heat, which are
conduction, convection, and radiation, can be seen in scientific studies but play a role in day to
day life. Science can reach beyond the walls of research and can be seen in day by

Rape and Intimate Partner Abuse
In every 45 seconds, someone is sexually violated in the United States. Out of every 6 women, one
has experienced an attempted rape or complete rape. Lesbians and bisexual women remain at
increased risk of sexual victimization compared to heterosexual women. In order for a woman to
determine the direction of her life, she must first determine her sexuality. Sexuality is a deep,
integral part of any human s life. This should not be a subject of coercion or debate. The society
must recognize that a woman has the right to freely pre determine her sexuality without oppression
and discrimination (Burn, 2004). Traditionally, women throughout history and culture have
undertaken the role of independent, non heterosexual, women connected existence.... Show more

If violence was to take place between two intimate women in a lesbian relationship, the violence
would seem to be nothing more than a cat fight. It would not be surprising for the majority to ask
what harm could really be done by two women. The violence that exists between women in a
lesbian relationship is in deliberate opposition to the traditional female/feminine gender role
stereotype deeply entrenched in the society. This stereotype combined with the belief that women
are naturally weak and lack stature and strength to inflict any serious harm to each other calls for
the dismissal of any serious violence between two intimate women (Walters, 2011). Currently, there
is a consensus in statistics regarding the rate of lesbian intimate partner violence. However, it is
thought that the occurrence of lesbian intimate partner violence is comparable to the heterosexual
domestic violence rates. Studies conducted in the past indicated that between 41 percent and 68
percent of all lesbians have at one point experienced some kind of abuse in the intimate
relationship in the hands of their partners. The studies estimate that 90 percent of lesbians
experience verbal abuse while between 7 percent and 48 percent experience physical abuse.
Apparently, between 5 percent and 57 percent of women in lesbian relationships experience some
kind of sexual assault within the relationships context at some point in their life. Due to

Language Learning Strategies Essay
A Study of Learning Strategies in L2 Acquisition
гЂђAbstractгЂ‘With the concept of autonomy being part of the mainstream of research and
practice within the field of language education, the study of learning strategies in L2 acquisition has
drawn much attention. This paper discusses the issues covering the fundamental aspect:
identification and classification of learning strategy. The problems are reviewed concerning the
definition and classification of learning strategies and then the paper tentatively introduces Cohen s
approach to defining learning strategies in terms of prototypicality of features of learning strategies.

Cohen (1998) : Learning strategies are learning processes which are consciously selected by the
learner. The words consciously select are important because they demonstrate the special character
of strategy.
Wenden(1998): Learning strategies are mental steps or operations that learners use to learn a new
language and to regulate their efforts to do so.( as cited in Ellis, 1994, p. 531)
The above definitions show that no researchers define language learning strategies in exactly the
same way. All these definitions provide insights into understanding the process of learning a
language. How to define learning strategies is crucial in underpinning the framework of
researchers study. Definition is fundamental to laying the foundation for the areas of research.
However, these definitions of language learning strategies reveals some problems. Learning
strategies is such a broad word that it can refer to the general approaches or specific techniques
used to learn a language. Maybe it is the main reason why the definitions are atheoretical. There are
other two problems: Are learning strategies to be perceived of as behavioural or mental? Are
learning strategies conscious and intentional or subconscious?

Hp Carburetor Research Paper
How to Rebuild a Tecumseh 10 hp Carburetor Even the highest quality carburetors can wear out
for various reasons. The key is to learn to recognize the signs of a struggling carburetor before it
completely goes out and stops working altogether. Some initial signs that the carburetor might
need some maintenance are when the engine begins to hesitate or stall. Another clear sign that
the machine might be in trouble is if it has a hard time starting, or if it starts with a cloud of
black smoke. Fortunately for users of the Tecumseh 10 hp Carburetor, rebuilding it is really easy
when following a few simple steps. Common Problems to Look For Although there is a wide
range of problems that can cause a carburetor to malfunction, some are more common than others
and therefore should be checked first to eliminate unnecessary work or the additional expense of
purchasing parts that are not needed. For example, if a carburetor is having issues due to
flooding simply remove the float and see if a new one is needed. Usually, if there is a problem
with the overall function of a carburetor, it will need to be completely removed to fix the problem.
Fortunately, this is an easy task. Gathering Tools... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

process. A needle valve, gaskets and floaters are also part of the required set up when rebuilding a
carburetor; however, there is a kit available on the market specifically for rebuilding Tecumseh

Similarities And Differences Of Snow White Story
Snow White is a fairytale that never gets old. Countless young children know the tale by heart: A
young, beautiful girl tries to live a happy life while her mother tries to kill her due to Snow White
being prettier than her. Snow White, though, has a much more profound, unexploited history.
There are many versions of this story that not a lot of people read. Two texts that were particularly
fascinating were Gold Tree and Silver Tree as well as Nourie Hadig. In Gold Tree and Silver Tree,
Silver Tree becomes jealous with Gold Tree s beauty and tries to kill her newlywed daughter, but
Gold Tree made a new friend, and she helped take care of Silver Tree. In Nourie Hadig, Nourie is
left in the forest by her father because her motherwants to kill her. There, she takes care of a prince
all the while her mother is trying to find her. Both these stories have amazing similarities and
striking differences, but the similarities significantly outweigh the differences. The stories are
astonishingly similar many ways, but their characters are the most standout thing about these
stories. While these figures have their differences, the similarities are much more eye catching.
These characters are similar because their personalities follow a similar rhythm throughout the
stories and their actions also stay the same. These stories characters represent the reason why these
stories commonly have been given the title of being the origins of Snow White. Their protagonists,

Vincent Van Gogh s Factories At Clichy
From the beginning of time people have created art. While the reasons and methods have
changed over the years, people still observe and try to understand even the oldest pieces of work.
After being assigned to go to the St. Louis Art Museum, I found five different paintings that all
involve some form of oil on either canvas or copper and many different styles. Lovis Corinth
Painted Nana, a Female Nude in 1911, it exhibits the classic female nude which originated in
Greece. Even though it is a classic nude, the womanis not idealized like other paintings. This is
probably because Corinth painted this after the artistic movement which moved the focus of art
from the old and traditional styles of the Renaissance to the modern style of paintingand focusing on
how the artist interpreted the subject he was painting. This is an oil on canvas... Show more content

His painting is a landscape of a town surrounded by factories as smoke pollutes the air. This
painting is like Corinth s in that it is oil on canvas as well as there are visible brush strokes as
Van Gogh paints what he sees and tries to give the world a glimpse into the world from his
perspective. Van Gogh s color choice is always interesting because everything seems to be from
a limited palette. In Factories at Clichy he uses bright greens and yellows in the grass and it
makes the field glow with light and warmth where the factories and the actual city get darker the
further away the town grows. The closer buildings are bright with bold red roofs which pulls the
audiences eyes to the city almost to forget about the field. While it is difficult to see, there are
two small figures in the center of the painting, the eyes are drawn to them after they meet the focal
point of the tallest smoke tower and they follow down to the two small figures, possible lovers,

Advantages Of Debit Card Vs Credit Card
The Advantages of Debit Card versus Credit Card The advantages of debit card versus credit
cards used by young adults are debit cards will not allow you to mismanage, overspend or go
into debt. The most common explanation for credit card debt for people under the age of 25.
Demographic and credit trends show that young people, and in particular students, may be the
next segment of credit users that will face difficult financial times. In the United States, there are
19.1 million students who are attending colleges and universities (US Department of Education
2009). They account for approximately 6% of a population of 308 million people (US Census
Bureau 2011). On average, students possess 4.6 credit cards (SallieMae 2009). They also owe
more on their credit cards than they did just a few years ago; in 2004, students owed, on average,
$2,900 on credit cards whereas in 2009 this figure soared by 78% to $4,100 (SallieMae 2009).
Moreover, young consumers account for the second largest rate of bankruptcy in the United States
(Sullivan, Thorne, and Warren 2001). Together, these figures suggest that young adult consumers in
America spend more with their credit cards than they should. In addition, research shows that credit
carddebtis associated with financial stress (Grable and Joo 2006) as well as poor academic
achievement (Pinto, Parente, and Palmer 2001). The desire to use credit as a form of payment but

The Role Of The Nurse Manager In NHS Scotland
Within NHS Scotland, the Nurse Manager role is afforded an array of designations such as
Clinical Nurse Manager, Head of Nursing, Lead Nurse, and Service Manager. The role is routinely
referred to as a leadership and management role and is cited as within the echelons of middle
management (NES 2014; The Scottish Government Workforce Directorate 2009). A concept
analysis of the NurseManager role identified a significant absence of Scottish based literature. This
leaves one to conjecture that the role has emerged within NHS Scotland in an ad hoc manner, being
highly dependent on locality drivers, and with no formally agreed definition of role.
The lack of role definition combined with significant expansion of the Nurse Manager role and its
associated responsibilities is argued to have increased the plethora of designations within the global

The Theory Of General Strain Theory Essay
Introduction
In the 1980 s, Criminologist, Robert Agnew, presented his theory of general strain, in which he
covers a range of negative behaviors, especially how adolescents deal with stresses of strain.
General strain theory focuses on the source, such as anything that changes in the individual s life
that causes strain. His theory provides a different outlook on social control and social learning
theory for two reasons: the type of social relationship that leads to delinquency and the motivation
for the delinquency (Agnew, 1992). He states that certain strains and stresses increase the likelihood
for crime such as economic deprivation, child abuse, and discrimination. These factors can cause
an increase of crime through a range of negative emotions. For some people it can take a lot of
willpower to take a corrective action and try to deter away from committing crime in a way that
they can relieve these negative emotions. When people cannot cope with the stresses of the strain,
they turn to crime as a coping mechanism. Agnew also states, that not all people that experience the
stresses of strain will go forward to committing crime and live a deviant life.
Agnew assumes that all people of all social classes experience and deal with frustration when
experiencing a great amount of stress. The general strain theory bridges the gap between the poor
and the rich. The stresses of strain is a universal feeling that every individual experiences at some
point in time of their life.

What Are The Potential Effects Of Xenophobia
Xenophobia can be defined as a sensation of fear or phobia toward a person or a given group of
people deemed strange or foreign. When such a sensation becomes collective it may lead to
rejection of the other . By rejecting others from one s community, one de facto denies or chooses to
ignore any positive contribution from them to this community. This paper intends to demonstrate
the impact of such behaviour on the wellbeing of the different communities involved. In the
specific case of the African continent, misery and instability have dominated many people s lives

between these two characters. Although these flaws are standard for many characters among
many genres, they are unique only to Lear and Gatsby because they lead to their death. Lear and
Gatsby share a dream of power and love, but this dream slowly becomes an unhealthy obsession.
King Lear is so blinded by his love for his daughters that he does not see that they are only using
him for his wealth. Jay Gatsby shares a mutual experience; he is oblivious to Daisy Buchanan s
materialistic and selfish ways and is helpless to her charms. In Act Two of King Lear, the Fool
tells the King ...fathers that bear bags shall see their children kind. (2.4 49 50), a premonition that
clearly illustrates how Lear s daughters love him only for his riches. Both men are bound by their
mutual suffering caused by the women that dominate their lives. It is obvious in The Great Gatsby
that Daisy Buchanan is a woman who only has eyes for powerful men and when she realizes that
Gatsby is a self made millionaire, she casts him aside. The same occurs in King Lear; Goneril and
Regan only proclaim to love their

Asset-Liability Management
Asset Liability Management
Asset Liability Management (ALM) can be defined as the ongoing process of formulating,
implementing, monitoring and revising strategies related to assets and liabilities to achieve an
organization s financial objectives, given the organization s risk tolerances and other constraints
[1]. ALM also is known as balance sheet management. In banking activity the gap between assets
and liabilities can bring some consequences where the following risks are arose. And as a whole it
influences badly on the bank s functioning. Solving that problem is the primary goal of ALM. The
good balance sheet management means that the return on loans and securities as the highest as
possible, risks are minimized and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Benefits and drawbacks of asset securitization
Before asset securitization was created, banks lent money to households and companies and
these loans existed in the banks balance sheets until they mature or are paid off. This creates a
mismatching of assets and liabilities because typically banks use deposits and issuance of debts
as a provision of loans. And both of them have shorter period of maturity then banks lending
especially cars and mortgages loans. Since the bank started to use securities backed by assets or
in other words it started to transfer the ownership of the assets to SPVs, the great opportunities
have began widely available for the bank. And the main of that fee income and additional trading
opportunities are providing. Securitization is the process of transforming illiquid assts into
marketable securities. This helps banks to maintain or even increase their liquidity because long
term loans are replaced to SPVs. As a consequence, the gap between balance sheet sides also is
diminished. And as a result the position of the bank becomes more stable and it frees up capital to
provide new loans. In other words, the opportunity for bank to lend additional funds to the
consumers appears. Moreover, securitization provides quick access to funds that

Age Of Exploration During The Commercial Revolution
Age of Exploration (1350 1550) (Call to Freedom CTF)
The Commercial Revolution changed Europe by changing the way people did business in the
1200s. On page 33 in CTF, the second paragraph states During the Commercial Revolution,
however, merchants and craftspeople became more aggressive about making a profit. Many
Landlords wanted farmers to grow crops to be sold on their rented land. Cities grew rich from
specific things such as dying cloth in Florence and glassmaking in Venice. They also brought rare
goods from far away making many cities have rich trading centers. Not everybody could afford a
business because people were too obsessed with making money. Instead, they created joint stock
companies just in case their business didn t work out as planned. People opened banks to earn
capital from interest such as the Medici family. Europe reached a high point where many people
were wealthy and gained more power changing rising Europe s economy and power causing
many monopolies. There was also great growth in the merchant s class and towns/urban centers
(Page 33, CTF). The Commercial Revolution was greatly based off trade (CTF, PG. 35,
Paragraph 3 6) and many things were traveled via the Silk Road. When trading with other places,
people became interested in where these things were from so the explored and looked for these
places. Another reason for people exploring was that they wanted to spread Christianity.
The Renaissance changed Europe by giving motivation to learn

Cat Dissection
Introduction
The Cat Dissection lab consisted of various procedures ranging from skinning the cat to performing
the likes of a brain surgeon in cutting it s brain out, but there were three major questions focused on
when conducting the entire process. They included muscular differences between humans and cats,
teeth and dental structure within the cat s mouth compared to a humans, and the third being the
differences between a human s fingernails and the claws of a cat. These three questions provided
the goal for the dissection of the feline. The interesting thing about felines such as this specimen

Autonomic Cloud Application And Services
Autonomic Cloud Application and Services Abstract Clouds are large scale, complex systems. This
makes the management of resources a challenging job. The heterogeneous distributed system
requires intelligent strategies to provision resources. These strategies can be automated for efficient
performance. Resources provided must be secure, cost efficient and reliable. Therefore effective
management of Clouds providing services in software platforms becomes fundamental. This paper
identifies issues on autonomic resource provisioning and provides innovative management
techniques which supports SaaS applications on Clouds. A conceptual architecture with early

These private environments are made accessible via the Internet. Cloud computing provides
services such as software (applications), platforms and infrastructures with a subscription based
in a pay as you go model. These services are generally referred as Software as a Service (SaaS),
Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Real time service providers
like Amazon, HP and IBM have Cloud data centers worldwide. These centers support end user
applications ranging from online healthcare to generic text processing software. Ones the
application is available in the Cloud, the client can access from anywhere at any time. Users will
require a form of networked device like a desktop or a smart phone. The Cloud system increases
the application speed for the client. This is achieved by using the processing power of the virtual
computers on the back end. However, it is a challenging task to deliver a secure, cost efficient and
reliable service. Management of a Cloud infrastructure that is elastic and large scale is another
issue. The Cloud needs to exhibit autonomic properties and co optimization at multiple layers
(infrastructure, platform, and application). Some of the challenges are mentioned below: Quality of
Service (QoS). Cloud service consumers (CSCs) expect the Cloud service providers (CSPs) to meet
requirements like response time, deadline and budget constraints. The CSPs need to ensure

Respect is ingrained into our society, whether it be a whole community of respectful people to

My skills within all of these areas are still under progress, but with the constant practice, I am

my strengths and weaknesses came as a difficulty because in high school we were never asked to
explore these traits within ourselves. While constructing this essay I had a hard time evaluating

my strengths and weaknesses. I then listed the pros and cons of my writing. Understanding the

Mass School Shootings in America Essay
American schools became dangerous places at the end of the twentieth century. Children as young
as twelve and thirteen came to school not to study but to shoot as many people as possible. Even as
these students transformed schools into war zones, teachers and other students did what they could
to restore order and to save lives. In doing so, they became unlikely heroes on America s latest
battlefield. Although violence in schools is nothing new, multiple shootings are. According to the
1999 Annual Report on School Violence, the number of such shootings increased from one in 1994
95 to five in 1997 98. Tragically, the epidemic of violence continued, and in December 1999, one

One such case occurred in Moses Lake, Washington, in February 1996 when Barry Loukaitis
killed a popular boy who had teased him (Egan). But he also killed another student and a teacher.
Asked why he shot the other two, Loukaikis was not able to give any reason. He said
mysteriously, I don t know. I guess reflex took over (Egan). If revenge is sometimes a motive, it
is clearly not the only one. Failed romantic relationships also seem to motivate some shootings,
although most romances seem too casual to explain this level of violence. According to some
experts, teenagers especially those who come from fractured families depend more on each other
than [on] their parents (Lore A1). As a result, they may feel the sting of rejection more deeply than
they would otherwise. This emotional pain may lead to violence. One such case may have
occurred in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mitchell Johnson listed the names of a teacher and four girls
whom he planned to kill, including his ex girlfriend (Bragg, Jonesboro Dazed ). A student in Pearl,
Mississippi killed his mother with a butcher knife and shot nine students. Two died, and one of
them was a former girlfriend (Helmore). Sometimes, immaturity or mental illness played an
undeniable role. Such was certainly the case at an alternative school in DeKalb County, Georgia,
where a student gunned down Horace Pierpont ( Bucky ) Morgan. Morgan who taught reading,

The past should never be altered. The New York Times article by Gary Allan Fine is about the

State football victories from 1998 2011. History was changed by making the losers of these

purpose and justification, but the way Jenner carried out his experiments were very dangerous and
harmful to his community. Jenner put many people s lives in jeopardy including men, women and

In the beginning of Jenner s inquiry he assumed that a disease called the grease was the source
of how the smallpox came about (Jenner, 13). In fact, it was proven later on, that the grease had
no ties or connection to the smallpox disease whatsoever. The grease only shared a connection
with the cowpox disease (Jenner, 14). Jenner concluded that the grease and the cow pox were the
same disease which was proved to be incorrect according to the footnotes of the editor (Jenner,
15). A lot of people may question whether or not it is just to inoculate humans with a deadly
disease just to satisfy curiosity about a subject. Jenner put a lot of people lives at risk. Jenner
treated everyone like nonhuman scientific subjects for his use of research and observation.
The smallpox disease carried the possibility of death. Jenner tested his theory on some humans
who were in perfect health. In case 17, Jenner mentioned that in order for him to accurately observe
the progress of the infection, he inoculated a healthy eight year old boy with the cowpox and then
the smallpox (Jenner, 24). This boy never had either diseases, but yet Jenner still chose to inoculate
him which was very unethical. By injecting both the cowpox and the smallpox put these healthy
individuals at dangerous risk. No point in Jenner s inquiry does Jenner mention him getting verbal

Fallecence In Ender s Game
If a person was taken hostage by the government to create a dangerous chemical and then it is

Ender was in Ender s Game. This is extremely apparent in John Kessel s ВЁCreating the Innocent

article by twisting the information and turning them into logical fallacies. Throughout the article

In John Kessel s article I agree with the fact that Ender was manipulated from the beginning as he
says, The extreme situation Card has constructed to isolate and abuse Ender guarantees our
sympathy. After Ender is manipulated into entering Battle School. But after he makes this
statement, and draws a false conclusion. He believes this is all an attempt at sympathy and is the
reason we believe his actions are justified. The manipulation though was not for sympathy it was
cruel and lead him not have a choice in his life and doings. Such as In Ender s Game when at the
when when Ender was talking to Graff: Of course we tricked you into it. That s the whole point,
said Graff. It had to be a trick or you couldn t have done it. It s the bind we were in. We had to
have a commander with so much empathy that he would think like the buggers, understand them
and anticipate them.(298) There is no doubt that Ender was manipulated because Graff said it
himself he was tricked and really had choice for his future. This is another argument that disproves
Kessel s statement. Also according to Shmoop they also believe that Ender was tricked into killing

Snow White By The Brothers Grimm
Snow White The story of Snow White is a cautionary tale that has been written by many. Each
time it has been told, the authors had a different interpretation of how it should be. The two
variations that I will be focusing on are The Brothers Grimm s story and Walt Disney s film.
Although the fairytales are written and filmed by different authors, they share a common theme
and two symbols. The theme that is present in both Grimm s and Disney s versions is that evil
will always be punished. The symbols that are in both tales include the concept of beauty and
the red poisonous apple. The Brothers Grimm wrote a few versions of Snow White, but the one
I will be referring to be Snow White. I will be comparing this story to the film of Walt Disney
titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. These two variations have a great deal in common
including being about Snow White, but they both tell her story a bit differently. I will point out
a few of these differences. In Grimm s version, the Queen visits the dwarf s house three times.
Each time she comes, she leaves with Snow to be looking presumably dead. The Queen harms
her first with a tightly laced corset; second with a poisonous comb she brushes her hair with and
last with a red piece of a poisonous apple. In Disney s film, a red apple poisons Snow once in the
attempt by the evil Queen to take her life. In the Grimm s Snow White, the kiss of the Prince does
not awaken her like in Disney s film, but instead the Prince s men drop her

Proposal For Higher Education
Current Research

government s role in higher education at the federal, state, and local level. Through data of
institution cost efficiency and inefficiency, tax exporting, and the backgrounds of student
borrowers, policymakers and can create a visual representation of the importance of state allocations
towards higher education.
Government matters. A study done by Sav (2016), explores the decreases in state and federal Pell

from 2004 2013. Sav s study concluded that state funding appropriations contributed significantly to

Second, it is crucial that the states, rather than the federal government solely, play a more concrete
role in reducing the burden for millions of student borrowers. Third, policymakers should take into
consideration the dynamics and backgrounds of the student body in higher education institutions
when considering appropriations.
Collective Themes
Several themes and elements are recurrent in this research of college affordability. Federalism
concerns add fuel to the debate of the role of government in higher education policymaking. Ethical,
equity, economic, and political issues arise that divide citizens between considering higher
education a public or a private good, whether it has economic benefits, and whether it is worth
taxpayer dollars. The themes are consistent through the perspectives of the history, media,
government enactments, public opinion, political parties, interest groups and research.
Federalism
The relationship between the national government and state governments has changed and
expanded immensely (Kraft Furlong, 2015). How does the issue of rising tuition, high student loan
interests, and student debt detail federalism? The authority of each level of government is
questioned in education policy. How much power should the national government have over higher
education?
Constitutionally, the national government only has explicitly enumerated

priest interprets this to mean that Teofilio is well, and he tells them that the old man is too frail to
be left at the sheep camp alone. The men assure him that they won t be doing that again, and the
priest and the men part. The priest believes that they have

Hysterectomy Essay
As previously mention, hysterectomy is the most frequent non pregnancies related surgeries
performed on women in the United States (Qi et al., 2013). Hysterectomies are the 2nd most
commonly performed procedures among women of childbearing age (Everyday Health, 2015). The
majority of women that undergo hysterectomy are usually between the ages of 35 and 54; within
that group women between the ages of 35 and 44 have the highest risk of undergo the procedure
(Right Diagnosis, 2015). 90% of the women are not really medically in need of the procedure,
because they are not life threatening conditions such as uterine fibroid, endometriosis and uterine
prolapse (Everyday Health, 2015). According to National Women s Health Information Center
(NWHIC), in the United States, approximately one third of all hysterectomies are performed for
uterine fibroid (Right Diagnosis, 2015). The 2nd most frequent condition that leads to
hysterectomies is endometriosis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the risk factors associated with uterine fibroids are African American women, obesity,
and socioeconomic status (SES) and health access (National Institute Health, 2015). African
American Women African American women compared to Caucasian women are more probable
to have hysterectomy surgery (Bower, et al., 2009). The reason for that is African American
women are 2 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with uterine fibroid, which is the primary sign
of hysterectomy surgery (Weiss et al., 2009). The fibroid in African American women tend to
have more profuse amount of tumor, they can be massively large, and are prone to more serve
symptoms (White, 2015). They are also more probable to develop uterine fibroid at a younger age
(White, 2015). There have been reports of younger African American women that have not started
their period, that have sign of small fibroid tumor (White,

Obama Economic Crisis
November 4, 2008 is a day to go down in history, as Barack Obama celebrates being elected the
44th President of the United States of America. The election was the longest presidential campaign
and the most expensive in history. Moreover, the historic event marked the first time that two US
senators ran against each other. New York Senator Hilary Clinton was the first serious female
presidential candidate, while Senator Barack Obama was the first African American nominated by
a major party for president. The whole presidential race was full of historic moments and it was an
election like no other. During the historical presidential race, the media and other experts would
often discuss whether a multiracial candidate could win, some observers... Show more content on

The country was undergoing a recession but nonetheless, he came into office ready to take
action. One of his first priorities after getting into office was to tackle the financial crisis. His
stimulus package and some of the carryover from the Bush administration pushed money into the
economy when it was needed the most. His auto bailout gave manufacturing a lifeline (GM,
Chrysler, Ford), and his support for credit starved banks, slowed down the spread of subprime
contagion. Even though some believe he did not make the economic life better in his first four
years in office, he certainly prevented it from getting much worse, and on re election day, voters
rewarded him for that. According to exit polls, more than half of voters still blame George W.
Bush for the sluggish economy, only 38% blame president Obama. During his second presidential
campaign, Obama argued that the only solution to America s deficit problem was a mixture of
increased revenues and lowered spending. In contrast, Mitt Romney consistently maintained that he
could eliminate the deficit without raising taxes, he even promised to cut them below their current
rates. Mitt Romney s plan was not realistic and his political agendas were rather inconsistent,
Obama s plan was a far more realistic approach, by promising to increase marginal rates on the
very wealthy essentially by allowing some Bush tax cuts to expire Obama offered a path that,

Students With An Optimum Learning Experience By Creating A...
Chapter Two: Literature Review
Introduction
Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning
experience by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated
that a healthy learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J.
Noaks L. Noaks, 2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of
students is limited, according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time
teaching pupils how to be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities
to engage in civic duties at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held
accountable for improving their own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature
review is presented under the following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation
research, benefits of peer mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature
review is to understand what conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully. Conflict resolution
can be taught using peer mediation framework to guide teachers and students. Peer mediation can
be a positive experience for students but there are specific points to consider before implementation
of a peer mediation program at school.

The Pros and Cons of RussiaВґs Economy Essay
Russia s economy is very complex and also very terrible at the same time. Many other economy s
are also like this but Russia s is a very interesting thing to learn about. Russia s economy has many
things wrong with it that in the long run could probably affected it in a negative way. But it also
has many positive things about it.The negatives and the positives are, in my opinion, are equal in
Russiaeconomy. Lets start out with the good things that Russia s economy has. Russia has an more
than enough natural resources. They have plenty of timber, precious metals, oil, gas, and coal.
Those resources being exported could easily benefit their economy if it wasn t for other countries
who produce more of the resources taking their potential... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reason that their economy won t fall is they still have a budget surplus which it s GDP
isn t very high. And one of the most important reasons is that Russia s unemployment rate is at one
of it s lowest in Soviet history. So, based on those facts it s safe to say that the Russian economy
isn t going to crash anytime soon.
Russia s economy has been becoming tight on public finances but they believe that it ll help their
economy. The reason they think it ll help their economy is because it help keep inflationunder
control. They are also trying to get interest rates cut down to a smaller amount which will also help
out the economy. The Russian government has been preparing for big unemployment rises due to
the monopolies. The monopolies are saying it ll help people find new jobs but it really won t
because now they ll be on the unemployment list and will be having the government paying them
until they find a new job. By having more people on the unemployment list it adds to the country s
debt.
Russia is already in debt and it couldn t really afford to be put into more. Russia s national debt
is around 6,709,506,270,191. Russia is so large that it makes sense that there national debt is so
high. In the U.S. our country isn t big at all compared to Russia and we are in 11 trillion dollars
more in debt then they are. Both the U.S. and Russia need to cut back on spending on unnecessary
things and focus on reducing the

  • 2. Marquis de Layafette Marquis de Lafayette Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette, Marquis de La Fayette, a wealthy French nobleman, played a quietly prominent role in America s struggle for independence from the British. La Fayette s unwavering dedication to the pursuit of liberty, his skill as military officer, his ability to secure vital resources, and his impressive connections to the French Royal family and other key players of this era made him an invaluable asset in the American Revolution, and a significant piece of the French Revolution. La Fayette was born on September 6, 1757 in the Castle of Chavagnac, in the southern region of France to a distinguished noble family. His lineage was already renowned throughout France for ... In fact, the bond was so strong, that at the Battle of Valley Forge in the winter of 1777, when a cluster of jealous officers interested in trying to have a sentiment developed against Washington to have Congress relieve him of the command of the Continental Army, they were unable to gain the support of Lafayette, who in turn wrote a long letter to Washington in which he pledged his loyalty to the General. Washington replied to Lafayette in a letter that was marked by his sincere appreciation. In due course the proposed scheme of the few officers failed, as it was doomed to fail from the beginning. The soldiers and officers at Valley Forge were fiercely loyal to their commander, and the members of Congress realized that Washington was a strong and patriotic leader. Following the harsh and bitter winter in Valley Forge, Lafayette kept the colonists spirits high and burnished his credentials as an intelligent leader whilst helping to draw more French resources to the colonial side. In May 1778, he outsmarted the British soldiers sent to capture him at Bunker Hill which was later renamed Lafayette Hill and rallied a Continental attack at Monmouth Courthouse to force a stalemate. Lafayette repeatedly traveled back and forth to France to press Louis XVI for more aid, and in return he assumed increased military responsibility upon his return to battle. As commander of the ... Analysis Of Coulomb s Law Defines The Force Introduction Coulomb s Law defines the Force acting upon two charged objects relative to their charge that they hold as well as the distance between them. The interaction between these two charges occur through non contact which is prevalent over the distance between them. Vectors are most commonly used to represent the force between two charged points. Being that is a force acting upon these two charged objects the strength of the interaction between these two charges is a vector quantity (Physics Classroom, 2015). The least of these influences would be the major focus on Latinstudies and translation that re sulted in the ancient Roman culture and mythology themes that appear in many of his poems and plays. Specific works will have their origins explained by describing particular teaching tactics. We learn how these teaching methods, combined with the social ex pectations of English boys, starting at a young age, influenced both their behavior and their moral beliefs. The question of how a man such as Shakespeare came to be is answered. Chapters one and two discuss the role of the teacher and just how central he was in the development of his pupils. During Shakespeare s childhood, teachers were considered to be the most important adults in a young boys life even more important than his parents. Teachers were expected to set the perfect example so that their students would grow to be proper English gentlemen. A great deal of pressure was placed on schoolmasters. Their appear ance, mannerisms, and speech had to be perfect. Atoms move at a constant rate of motion and the motion of the atoms create or form heat or thermal energy. The idea or theory of heat was contrived in 1738 by Sir Benjamin Thompson but was gradually developed by French physicist, Sadi Cornot. Because technology has modernized, the theory of heat has been developed immensely, which has resulted into variations of forms. Besides the scientific research that requires heat, heat is also the main component for things such as cooking food. The Theory Of General Strain Theory Essay Introduction In the 1980 s, Criminologist, Robert Agnew, presented his theory of general strain, in which he covers a range of negative behaviors, especially how adolescents deal with stresses of strain. General strain theory focuses on the source, such as anything that changes in the individual s life that causes strain. His theory provides a different outlook on social control and social learning theory for two reasons: the type of social relationship that leads to delinquency and the motivation for the delinquency (Agnew, 1992). He states that certain strains and stresses increase the likelihood for crime such as economic deprivation, child abuse, and discrimination. These factors can cause an increase of crime through a range of negative emotions. For some people it can take a lot of willpower to take a corrective action and try to deter away from committing crime in a way that they can relieve these negative emotions. When people cannot cope with the stresses of the strain, they turn to crime as a coping mechanism. Agnew also states, that not all people that experience the stresses of strain will go forward to committing crime and live a deviant life. Agnew assumes that all people of all social classes experience and deal with frustration when experiencing a great amount of stress. The general strain theory bridges the gap between the poor and the rich. The stresses of strain is a universal feeling that every individual experiences at some point in time of their life. ... Although the fairytales are written and filmed by different authors, they share a common theme and two symbols. The theme that is present in both Grimm s and Disney s versions is that evil will always be punished. The symbols that are in both tales include the concept of beauty and the red poisonous apple. In Grimm s version, the Queen visits the dwarf s house three times. Each time she comes, she leaves with Snow to be looking presumably dead. The Queen harms her first with a tightly laced corset; second with a poisonous comb she brushes her hair with and last with a red piece of a poisonous apple. Chapter Two: Literature Review Introduction Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning experience by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated that a healthy learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J. Noaks L. Noaks, 2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of students is limited, according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time teaching pupils how to be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities to engage in civic duties at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held accountable for improving their own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature review is presented under the following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation research, benefits of peer mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature review is to understand what conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully.
