Why Is Shakespeare Relevant Today
Shakespeare is arguably the greatest playwriter that has lived and although he died more than
four hundred years ago he is able to live on through his plays and poems that continue to be
performed today. Shakespeare has a universal reach with his plays and works intended for any
audience that are entertaining but also include important lessons. There are arguments that his
relevancy is no longer, but perhaps with evidence provided people will be able to see his works
are more relevant now than ever. Without further study and only taking a Shakespearian play for
face value there are already characteristics that make his works so timeless. The setting, stories,
and characters all seem familiar when they are watched and sometimes the characters seem to
reflect one s self. The story of Romeo and Juliet, for example, is one of love and passion for two
star crossed lovers who desire nothing more than to be together. For some this may be an over
romanticised fantasy, but others... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than that is the language he uses as well as the words and phrases he created that are still
being used today. Studying Shakespearian works is not only about analyzing story elements or
archetypal patterns but also learning where language that is being used comes from. A history class
teaches students how people got to Canada and what historical events have affected the way life is
today. In a very similar way the study of Shakespeare is a history lesson on literature and
vocabulary. Rather than teaching how Canadian culture was developed it is teaching how the
English language was further developed. For some students there might be a feeling of
disheartenment or hot bloodedness when they arrive at the realization that these eventful plays
must continue being studied but, in order to understand the language they use that Shakespeare
created they must look at how it is used and where these terms came

Anthem Individuality Essay
Individuality in Anthem
Ceaseless collectivism is not something that can be forced upon a community. Ayn Rand s novel
Anthem conveys this through the writings of Equality 7 2125, a man willing to stand up to the
collectivism of the society he is confined to. Anthem not only shows how dull and lifeless a
society can be with a lack of individuality in its people, but also reveals how one person can
significantly impact a community. This novel displays the importance of individualism through
Equality s thoughts and actions. This includes when he reinvents electricity in the tunnel, falls in
love with Liberty, and when he completely separates himself from society. Equality s individualism
is prominent when he purposely isolates himself in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Equality continues to make his individualism known by preferring a woman,
Liberty 3 5000, above all. While sweeping the streets, Equality takes notice of a woman working
in the fields. He is instantly intrigued by her and thinks of her over all others. Equality s attitude
is significantly changed by his interactions with Liberty. We do not know why we think of them.
We do not know why, when we think of them, we feel of a sudden that earth is good and that it is
not a burden to live (Rand 41). Individualism is shown when Equality chooses to favor Liberty.
Equality looked at her, even though there were other women in the field that day. He chooses
Liberty above all the woman. Equallity shows a preference in only her, which shows individuality.
To add, Equality is becoming more unruly and disobiedient by continuing to break rules. The
crimes he comits involve talking to woman of other Trades, looking upon woman, and the
Transgression of Preference, which is to prefer someone or something above others. Equality s
love for Liberty continues to isolate and detach him from his brothers. His love for Liberty
motivates him to banish himself from his society and cut off all his ties to it. Equality s
individuality grows further when he purposely separates himself from his society and obliterates
the last of his identity that associates himself with the City. While showing his light to the Council
of Scholars, they tell

Temple University Stakeholder Analysis
Temple University initiated to develop 35,000 seat football stadium with an estimated cost of $100
million in the campus area of Philadelphia (Clearing the Way for a Football Stadium. Philly.com).
The objective of this stakeholder analysis paper is to identify the most powerful and influential
stakeholders of Temple University stadium using three attributes power, legitimacy and urgency.
There are two divisions of stakeholders Primary and Secondary Stakeholders. According to Clarkson
(1995), Primary stakeholders are the most important groups as there is high level of dependency
between each other and without which the organization/Institute cannot survive. On the other hand,
Secondary stakeholders are those who don t have direct... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They don t have ownership or legal rights. Their interests are categorized in four different areas
which are career stability, student/school welfare, freedom of choice and the overall quality of
education. If Temple invest on developing a stadium and if it doesn t go well then it might affect
on employees career stability as they may redistribute employees to other departments. It could
affect overall quality of education/academics to Athletics. Also if the stadium moves in the
campus, obviously there would be a change in the culture hence it will affect student welfare.
Through survey result, we found that 66% people are against the building of a new stadium. So, if
I think about the freedom of choice, it looks like most of the employees don t think it would be a
good idea to build a new stadium because it only going to waste money. Temple could provide
money to develop community and invest on their education system. There are two stakeholders
who have strong relationships with each other. I think that the board of trustees and the football
program should work together as the project operation would depend on their decision. TU doesn t
have Legal responsibilities or Philanthropic obligation towards their employees. However, they have
Economic responsibilities. They need to think about the infrastructure and the cost to develop the
stadium. It could affect negatively on

1. What was the purpose of the New Democracy strategy? Was it successful? Explain.
The purpose of the New Democracy strategy was meant to spur China s political and economic
recovery. In order to do so, it required the support of the poorer peasants and productivity so that it
would modernize China s industry through land redistribution and capital activities. However, the
New Democracy strategy was unsuccessful because agricultural production was ... Show more

The land redistribution program for the peasants was positively accepted such that Mao believed
that the next step, the Great Leap Forward, would also be successful. Unfortunately, the program
failed because the rural collectives did not accomplish the economic and administrative tasks
assigned to them. Instead, the program was established in the wrong moment due to bad weather,
which contributed to the downward trend of food production. Furthermore, many peasants resisted
the efforts to work, thus it also contributed to millions of people dying from starvation in the next
several years.
3. Was the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution evidence of Communism s strength or its
weakness? Explain.
The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution was an evidence of Communism s strength because a
vast majority of the economic and educational reforms were carried out successfully. By
introducing a new school system and eradicating profit incentives, it enabled Mao to spread its
communism ideologies into practice in China. For instance, instead of teaching children science
and humanities, Mao encouraged schools to teach what s more important, the Little Red Book,
which were Mao s maxim regarding revolutionary passion and good behavior. Moreover, thoughts,
culture, habits, and culture from the past that did not belong with Mao s communism ideologies
were also eliminated. In other words, with

Social Determinants Of Health May Influence The Burden Of...
1. a. Social determinants of health may influence the burden of disease on global health in many
ways. There are major differences in the leading causes of death between low income, middle
income, and high income countries (Moss, 2015). These differences are the result of the varied
level of wealth, access to healthcare and clean water, knowledge of health care needs, and the
countries ability to provide adequate health care to their citizens. Therefore, certain diseases are
more prevalent in poor countries versus wealthy countries (Moss, 2015). For example, HIV/AIDS,
Malaria, and tuberculosis are major killers in low income countries. Moreover, some preventable
diseases are also prevalent in the low income countries, such as lower respiratory infections,
diarrheal disease, premature and low weight births, and neonatal infections (Moss, 2015). Infectious
diseases remain the leading causes of death among the middle income countries. At older age, the
leading causes of death changes to non communicable chronic diseases, such as heart disease,
stroke, and cancer. This corresponds to the leading causes of death among high income countries
(Moss, 2015). Therefore, high income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on
chronic non communicable diseases while low income countries spend a significant amount of their
GDP on communicable diseases, such as HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis (Moss, 2015).

Analysis Of Hassan Nasrallah s Speech
A discourse analysis of one of Hassan Nasrallah s speeches
Introduction
Hizbullah, a main political party in Lebanon, is affecting the social world by promoting their
ideological and political position. Although all the countries surrounding Lebanon are facing
conflicts and war, we are still taking neutrality as a Lebanese government. However, Hizbullah are
deeply involved in the conflict happing in Syria, leading a huge military action outside the
Lebanese borders. Hizbullah s General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah has always been a highly
appreciated leader with substantial followers. His decision to support the Syrian regime affected the

In paragraph three, we can see that Nasrallah began congratulating the people for the day of
Liberation and praising his fighters for the great victorious achievement. He manages to combine
his charismatic leadership and the general ideological principles to show that he is obeyed from
all the people. However, he used deligitimization to present every opponent as a supporter for
terrorists and highlights the cruel acts they have done. Nasrallah (2015) states we are not talking
about intentions. ISIL sheds blood, demolishes, kills, rapes, rake woman as prisoners, slaughters...
This strong description of actions done by the enemy construct the difference between them in a
way of blaming and accusing them of terrorism. However, he never mentioned if what Hizbullah s
fighters are doing in the Syrian war. He tried to take his audience away from providing them
information of how fighters of Hizbullah are also killing innocent people in this war. Therefore, he
depended on the dissimulation strategy to prevent people from receiving the whole information and

Ronald Reagan And President Reagan Essay
If there is a single political figure from the past century to whom we can look and realize
greatness, it is Ronald Reagan. And if there is a context in which to view the Presidency of
Ronald Wilson Reagan, it is in the context of economics. In two scholarly biographies of our 40th
president, The Reagan Effect by John W. Sloan, professor of political science at The University of
Houston, and The Reagan Years written by several scholars and edited by Joseph Hogan, professor
and head of the Department of Management at Birmingham Polytechnic Business School, Reagan
and his presidency are meticulously analyzed under the lens of economics, among other things.
Their findings, although contrasting in some areas, conclude, much to my pleasure, that President
Reagan was a successful and influential president. Each book is based on a fundamentally
different theme. Each respective theme, however is a theme that is insightful and reflective. The
theme of The Reagan Effect is based upon the idea that the Reagan Presidency, while handling one
of the major challenges of the modern presidency, namely, how to project both narrow and broad
appeal, also achieved both political and economic success, while the theme of The Reagan Years is
actually an assessment of President Reagan s two administrations in terms of his success in facing
the trying requirements of presidential headship. President Reagan was skillful in exercising
statecraft, as well as in devising and maintaining a governing

How Does Rikki Tavi Shows The Human Characteristics
In the short story Rikki Tikki Tavi, by Rudyard Kipling, it shows the human characteristics of a
mongoose, Rikki, as being valiant and intelligent, and it also shows how a snake, Nagaina, is
clever and intelligent. The theme of this story is about overcoming your fear to protect your family.
First, Rikki Tikki Tavishows the human characteristics as being valiant and intelligent . for
example, Rikki says Well, as his tail began to fluff up again, marks or no marks, do you think it
is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest? This shows that Rikki is not afraid to challenge a
snake. Rikki has no experience with fighting a snake, that is bigger than him, but he is not
allowing the snake to bully him (Kipling paragraph 8). In addition, Rikki then jumped across the
bathroom, and his head was lying a little clear of the water jar, under the curve of it; and as his
teeth met, Rikki braced his back against the bulge of the red earthenware to hold down the head
(Kipling paragraph 20). This proves that Rikki overheard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, Nagaina is protective because she says, Give me the egg, Rikki Tikki. Give me the
last of my eggs, and I will go away and never come back, she said lowering her hood(Kipling

doing so, she is getting tricked by Rikki because he is going to kill her afterwards. Furthermore,
Nagaina is intelligent because she states, remember that as soon as our eggs in the melon bed
hatch, our children will need room and quiet (Kipling paragraph 16). This clearly proves that
Nagaina is using her intelligence to come up with a plan to get rid of the humans. By doing so,
nagaina is proving to be a protective mother by looking out for her children. Nagaina uses her
intelligence to control everything around her and is a good mom because she protects her

Non Parental Adults
Running Head: INTERACTION WITH YOUTH IN EDUCATION All children need some sort
of adult figure to be able to provide for them. Adults play an important role in the life of a young
person. In many scenarios it is our hope that adults use the knowledge they have acquired

When making the comment non parental it simply means an adult who is not the parent figure at
home in the life of the child. A non parental adult when participating in the lives of other children
typically is an adult who wants to have a significant positive impact in or in the life of a child.
When adults who are not the parental figure of a child wishes to interact with children it is
important to know their history and experiences that has lead them through life Knowing the non
parental adults experience makes a difference, and many adults volunteer their time to effectively
impact the lives of the youth they interact with. These individuals may or may not have children
currently living in their own home. Some researchers define non parental adults as those who have
had a significant influence on the adolescent and on whom the adolescent can rely for support
come from many different socially defined contexts: extended family members, teachers,
employers, church representatives, coaches, or older friends (Chen, Greenberger, Farruggia, Bush,
Dong, 2003). In regards to non parental adults these are the people such as teachers, pediatric
specialty individuals, coaches, child care individuals or anyone s purpose is primarily the safety,
health, wellness or educational aspects of child development in which their time is devoted to the
impact they will have on youth. Non parental adults can typically in many cases be anyone. There

The Physics of Archery Essay
The Physics of Archery
There are not many activities out there that relax and soothe me quite like shooting my bow. It is
not as simple as it sounds though, just pulling on the string, releasing the string, and watching the
arrow fly towards your target. There are a number of aspects that must be taken into consideration
when trying to shoot a bow and arrow efficiently, this is where we will get into the physics of
archery.
There are two main things to consider when looking at archery and the physics concepts behind it.
First there is the bow, which basically is a device that uses human force over a distance and
converts that into stored Mechanical Potential Energy. The second factor involves that stored
Mechanical Energy being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The materials that construct the Recurve bow must be taken into consideration when looking at
the force applied from the bow. The most popular material for traditional archers today would
have to be a certain type of wood from the yew tree. The reason for this particular choice of wood
is that it contains the highest elastic energy storage per unit mass for any type of wood, which is
around 700 Jkg 1. Which is very close to having the same rating as spring steel. However with
technology these days more people are leaning towards a type of carbon fiberglass laminate. This
particular combination brings both a lighter weight than wood and a higher elasticity rating. The
reason some wood bows are still around is due to the fact the old timer traditional type archers shun
using any kind of technology or advancements to aid them in shooting their bows. The material of
the strings also needs to be taken into consideration, this is so because the string mass needs to be
kept as low as possible for obvious reasons with efficiency and speed of the bow.
Another thing to be looked at would be the Draw Weight or Draw Force of the bow, which
basically is how much weight or force is

Sweden was slightly higher as well at 9.6%. However, both countries were less than the United
States at 16.9%, Netherlands at 11.8% and France at 11.6%. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014)
The main source of funding in all OECD countries is the public sector, except for the United
States and Chile. The most recent studies determined that in Sweden 81% of health spending is
funded by the public, which is above the OECD average of 72%. Canada s public funding is
responsible for 70% of health spending. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014) Main Contributing
Factors to Healthcare Spending For the majority of OECD countries, the three main areas that
contribute to the growth of healthcare expenditures include; hospitals, physicians and
pharmaceuticals. Population and an aging community are also significant factors. (Ke et al.,
2011) In the recent years, Canada s growth rate for healthcare spending has slowed to
approximately 1% in real terms during 2011 and 1.5% during 2012. The decrease in spending is
driven mainly by the slowdown in hospital spending, noted by a hospital spending rate PPP per
capita at $1,310 in 2012. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014) Expired patents for high volume and
high cost brand name drugs and a decrease in generic drug costs in many provinces lessened
spending in the pharmaceutical category. ( National Health Expenditure, 2014) In 2012 the
percentage of expenditure spent on pharmaceuticals was 18%. Since

If we look at Season 12 episode 9 Homr , Homer becomes inspired by the animation convention
that s in town. Generating his first impulse by removing all his life savings from his joint
account with Marge to invest in the company without any knowledge of the stock market other
than his own perception of the product. Even as the teller informs Homer that he would need to
have his wife sign, he goes behind a plant to impersonate Marge to sign and Lisa to get some
candy. He even tries to leave after accepting the candy without getting the money that he went in
for. After losing his investment he decides to become a medical guinea pig to get some extra
cash, this lead to the discovery of a childhood crayon being lodge in his brain. This becomes one
of the components of what has made Homer so asinine, yet after removing the crayon he is left
with a high level IQ but is unable to cope with the world of low intelligence. He does recognize
that his intelligence creates a strong bond with Lisa so he writes her a letter before Moe puts
another crayon in his brain. In season 9 episode 17 Lisa the Simpson , we see the reversed of
Homer in which Lisa is now trying to cope with being unintelligent after she is left unable to
resolve a puzzled that everyone but her could do in seconds. Grandpa Simpson explains how it is

Monte Cristo History
The Count of Monte Cristo is a movie based off of the book written by Alexandre Dumas and
directed by Kevin Reynolds. The movie is not entirely historically accurate and was written
mostly for entertainment purposes. There are various events throughout the movie that include
historical references, however it is a very minor aspect of the movie. The historical references in
the movie do not intend to create a real story as a history textbook would. They are there to add an
interesting finesse to the story without straying away from the main plot. One of these major
historical references is Napoleon exile to Elba, and his attempt to come back to power in France.

It was never created to follow an exact event in the past, but was more created as a fictional plot
with historical aspects to it. Many would criticize the movie because of its lack of accurately
portraying the time period and following historical events, however I believe that it did a good
job of throwing in historical sites throughout the movie. The movie also has references to
common problems that everyday people face, regardless of the time they are from or where they
live. For example, Fernand Montego played by Guy Pearce is a jealous best friend who
purposely sabotages Edmond and gets him thrown into prison. This is all just so he could get
his girl and feel better about himself. This problem is very similar to problems people deal with
every day. People are constantly caught up in jealousy, which causes them to do horrible things
such as betraying their lifetime best friend. Another major theme in the story that is seen in every
day life is revenge. Edmond gets so caught up in giving all those that crossed him what they
deserved that he nearly loses the woman he loves and his best friend. This is something that
people get involved in all the time in todays world. We get so caught up in giving others what we
think they deserve that we almost lose those who are closest to us. One minor thing that stood out

Relationship With Customer And Client
Establish Relationship with customer/client: When customers come to place an order, they are

students diligently weeding vinyl, pressing articles of clothing, and laying banners out. This is
interesting to the customerbecause they like to see how their product is made. This also endears
them to the marketingprogram as a whole because they see the students who benefit from their

If the product was not a custom order and the customer decided that they do not like their order,
they may return the product, as long as it has not been worn. We do not give refunds, but we will
give credit towards a new product of their choosing.
An example of our return policy is when a customer comes back with a shirt that has vinyl
lettering coming off, we will fix the shirt since the vinyl coming off is an indicator that we did not
press the shirt long enough. We would apologize for this error and offer the customer a discount on
a future order.
Process sales documentation: At the conclusion of order, an invoice is generated in the marketing
classroom. Customers then pay our bookkeeper who in turn, gives a receipt to customers and
invoices to the marketing program. The invoices is then put on file and used to gather data, such
as how much standard inventory to buy. Students learn how to file invoices, with advisors
keeping a close watch to make sure it s done correctly. Many hands make light work and so the
invoices are efficiently filed and then the data can be combined quicker as well.
Determine customer/client needs: We have a standard form for customers to fill out to order
garments. This form is emailed to all schools within our district so it is readily accessible to all
students and parents. School district secretaries collect standard orders and forward them to us.

How Did Medieval Art And Performance Influence Medieval...
Performance was an especially important part of the practices of medieval Christians. Whether
the devotion was private or public, performance contributed to an increased level of adoration and
piety. It s important to quickly note, as Kessler does on pages 151 and 152, that art was
traditionally seen by Christians as a pagan invention, and was often thought of as a way to convert
pagans to Christianity. Art was also thought of as a way to communicate the stories of the bible to
illiterate laypeople. In terms of private devotion, many medieval theologists, like Gregory the
Great, believed that by simply being in the presence of pieces of Christian art, it was possible for
the viewer to be influenced to be pious. Art also had a place in liturgical

The prison life should not be the life that a child should be stuck in, but rather be rehabilitated
through various programs depending on the crime and the age of the juvenile. Children who grow

often referred to as prisonization. They are taught how to better conceal drugs and weapons, cover
up crimes, commit offenses amongst thousands of other heinous crimes. This process not only
labels youth as gang members but instills in them identities and worldviews that rationalize their
own incarceration, extending the prisons ability to categorize people as carceral subjects far beyond

Malls, theaters, and restaurants encircled us; everything was neighboring each other. Traveling
from one place to another was easy because of the short distances and different means of
transportation such as riding metropolitan trains or walking. Although the city had its
advantages, it also had its detriments to people s lives; the city was a precarious place! Living
in the city, I was relentlessly hearing about deaths and delinquencies. Growing up in the city, I
was petrified for my family and uncertain about their welfare. Going down south was a dramatic
change in my life. I left behind my friends and most of my family. My means of life were swiftly
altering; no longer was I living a fast paced life. I began to feel confined in a rule area, encased
within dirt roads, miles of land, and a million trees. Restaurants and stores were over a half an hour
away; there was not anywhere to socialize and loiter with friends. My life was so divergent in the
country compared to the city! I could now assimilate into the new environment that contrasted my

A Case Management Software System
CRITICAL FACTS
In year 2000 FBI begun developing a case management software system named as Virtual Case
Files(VCF) ,the total estimated cost of the project was over $170 million. Eventually the project
was abandoned in April 2005 (Marchewka, 2010).
The forward motion for the project was due to the FBI s aging technology infrastructure that
included 386 based personal computers and a 12 year old network system (Marchewka, 2010).
In year 2000, Congress allocated almost $340 million for the proposed FBI Information
Technology Upgrade Project (FITUP) that was further divided into three parts and renamed it as
Trilogy .(Marchewka, 2010).
Project included an enterprise wide upgrade of hardware, software and the implementation of a ...

2005).
The system contained 100% of the requirements that are mentioned by the customer that they want
in the IOC system(Knorr, 2005).
ANALYSIS :
Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) is a government agency that works under United states
department of justice that assists in intelligence agency as well as the criminal investigation.
FBI is at present having hard time with the data today. There is need for FBI to have modernized

King Leopolds Ghost Essay
Book Review of King Leopold s Ghost, by Adam Hochschild
What some have considered to be the first international scandal of
the modern era took place in the Congo from 1890 until 1910. King Leopold
II of Belgium was at the head of this so called scandal. Although Europe
and the rest of the world seemed to have forgotten the victims of these
crimes, there is a considerable amount of material to use when attempting to
recreate the horror that took place in Leopold s Congo. This is exactly
what Adam Hochschild is attempting to do by writing this book. By using the
written words of mostly Europeans and Americans, which creates a distorted
view of history, he wants to show that the Holocaust type event ... Show more content on

By acting as the director and guiding his actors and stagehands,
Leopold finds the angle he needs and that is pretending to engage in a
philanthropy movement in the quot;dark continent. quot;
In Chapter 9, quot;Meeting Mr. Kurtz, quot; Hochschild provides a good
description of the novel, Heart of Darkness, and in the process enlightens
the reader about the true background and meaning to Joseph Conrad s novel.
Early in the book, Hochschild mentions the novel and how it has been studied
for Freudian overtones, mystic echoes, and its inward vision. According to
him, the book is more fact than fiction because there are many similarities
between the book and Conrad s very own travels into the Congo. In fact,
Hochschild calls the narrator of Heart of Darkness, Marlow, Conrad s alter
ego. Probably the biggest example of how the book is based on Conrad s own
travels is the fact that the stories villain, Mr. Kurtz, is clearly
inspired by a number of real people. These include George Antoine Klein,
Major Edmund Barttelot, and Captain Leon Rom, who probably is the real life
basis for Kurtz s most important signal, a collection of African heads
around his house. Heart of Darkness is given a completely new spin because
of Hochschild s interpretation.
Hochschild has a tendency to be too descriptive. There are some

Personal Statement of Engineering Management
Personal Statement I fought my first fight with my family and won the battle. The monthlong
controversy, as to whether I should compromise with the prevailing notion and make a specialty
of some hot study programmes such as finance, economics, management, laws, computer
engineering and the like, or I should follow the voice deep in my heart to choose what I am
really interested in, was over, and I got my way. My parents, like any other conscientious parents
in China, had long been harboring an aspiration that I could one day become an outstanding elitist,
occupying some kind of well paid genteel position, being respected and even envied. So, when I
told them that I intended to apply for the programme of Bachelor of Science... Show more content

couldn t find it in any perfect life unless you are interested in it. What was I interested in then?
Well, I am not an ambitious girl who will try everything she can to make a fame of her own. I am
sort of quiet, patient, sentient and amiable. I value life itself and genuine emotions the most.
That does not mean that I d rather lead a mediocre life and that I do not want to work hard and to

Lots of money and a genteel life do not represent the exact success I want. To me, success means

My Life And Life Of A Missionary
I look back on my life and realize what a turbulent time I have lived through. Through all of this
religious turmoil and political strife I have not lost my faith. I am Yann Allaman and I was born
in 1560 in Geneva. I am the only son of my two beloved parents and ever since I was young I knew
that I wanted to be a missionary. I am blessed to have been born into a Calvinist family, so that I
could have been raised according to God s law. Throughout my life I have spread this religionto as
many heretics as possible. Because of my devotion I began my preaching in Geneva, then I
traveled to Kampan in the revolting Dutch provinces to spread God s word there, and finally I
have settled in New Amsterdam, and continue to preach this very day, 1632. This memoir will not
specifically be about Calvinismsince I have already written down my treatise in another text. It
will be about my travels throughout Europe and what I have seen. Geneva is the heart of
Calvinism and where I was born, so I do have a special connection to it. When I was growing up
in Geneva we had the perfect kind of governance in which the church leaders tried their best to
insure that the conduct of God s people in Geneva was holy and righteous with Calvin s
guidance, Geneva s government became a theocracy (Cole Symes) . Therefore people were
prevented from consuming alcohol, dancing, card playing, and more; in order to purify the town.

The question is unique. In my judgment rules that apply to a host of other symbols, such as state
flags, armbands, or various privately promoted emblems of political or commercial identity, are
not necessarily controlling. Even if flag burning could be considered just another species of
symbolic speech under the logical application of the rules that the Court has developed in its
interpretation of the First Amendment in other contexts, this case has an intangible dimension that
makes those rules inapplicable. Comments: Source: http://www.riverreporter.com/news/library

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese medicine has had a broad history and with it even broader applications. It has
seen use for over twenty five thousand years within China s borders and is still being used,
researched, and refined in modern times.
The concepts of traditional Chinese medicine found it s basis in the philosophy of Taoism, which
focuses on balancing the body with environment to achieve optimum health and sustainability as
opposed to treating illness by itself. The emphasis on harmony originates from the Taoism concept
of Yinyang, which is defined as by the balance between it s two basic elements where one must
contain a bit of the other, and Wu Xing which encompasses five environmental elements: Water,
Fire, Wood, Earth, and Metal. These elements are used to categorize organs in the body in order to
determine how one organ would interact with another. An example would be if a Fire heart is
overstressed or inflamed , it can be remedied by strengthening the opposing element of Water in the
body through the kidneys in order to rebalance. Each organ, while performing it s own function,
needs to be coordinating with and complementing other organs. This gave birth to the idea that
tracking the functions of organs in various states, either by themselves or with other organs, could
predict what would cause something to disrupt bodily harmony or the cause of it in the sick.
Because of the holistic nature of traditional Chinese medicine, a very comprehensive analysis of a

Essay on Cultural Universals Between United States and China
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the definition of culture is the customary beliefs,
social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group . Every country has its
specific culture and there are some obvious cultural universals between China and America. One
example of such cultural universal is the directness of American versus the humbleness of the
Chinese people. Another example would be the self independence of the young Americans versus
the young Chinese who tend to depend on their parents. What I would like to cover are the
holidays observed by United States and China, roles played in the familyby husband and wife,
parenting styles and conflict management.

The American families advocate equality. The husband and the wife usually have an equality voice

middle aged, 46 year old male patient is complaining of chest pain, upon being brought to the
urgent clinic. He recalls that he was in his backyard laying down new large, heavy stones for his
new backyard patio. He works at a sedentary office job, and lives a sedentary lifestyle. The
patient also complains of shortness of breath and indigestion, as he did not intake as much food

the nurse can get more subjective data from the patient if they would to ask specific questions to
obtain a complete health history like, when did the pain start? Does it hurt more if you touch it?
Does this type of pain usually occur? How often does the pain occur? Where exactly on your
chest does the pain occur? Is the pain superficial or deep? Does the pain feel like it is dull, sharp,
or throbbing? On a scale of one to ten how would you rate your pain? What were you doing at the

Kant s The Three Fold Synthesis
Kant believed that there are different concepts and intuitions in which intuitions are put under
concepts. Kant refers these intuitions into what he calls the three fold synthesis. Kant describes the
three fold synthesis as the capacities in the understanding to compare, connect, and unify the
fragmentary manifold items in intuition (A97). To put it in different terms, the three fold synthesis
describes the necessary components for intuition of what is happening in the outside world. It
allows us to Kant believed that the three fold synthesis is divided into three different types of
synthesis. According to Kant, it is required that all of the synthesis work in unison in order for
experience to happen. Experience is what makes possible the synthesis of apprehension, in return
makes the possibility of the synthesis of reproduction, which creates the possibility of the synthesis
of recondition. Therefore, Kant argues, the synthesis of recondition is contingent on experience.
Kant also stated that for each of the three fold synthesis, there are both empirical and pure levels.
In other words, each of the three fold synthesis have two ways of being interpreted in the mind, one
based on our intellects because it is gathered through experience, and another based upon the fact
that the manifold works in unison with the others and are dependent on each other for experience to
happen.
The first of the three fold synthesis is called the synthesis of apprehension. The

In my opening statement I mentioned that I would call three witnesses to show the swindler s
guilt. Each witness explained this fact without a shadow of a doubt: 1) The emperor did not
have clothes on. So try to explain one thing, where were the clothes? They were most definitely
not on him and nobody saw him wearing his magnificent clothes. This Is why the swindler
deserves to be charged with fraud. They did not hold there end of the bargain. There is nothing
the defending side can say because he did not have clothes on. Yes the officials lied but truth be
told, wouldn t you? That is the only thing they can prove, which does not devalue the fact that
they committed a crime of fraud. To determine guilt in this case, the members of this jury only
have to ask themselves two questions: 1) Did my client pay for and provide materials for clothing
to be made and 2) Did the swindler produce the clothing. Not only did the swindler manipulate, lie,
and humiliate my client but I believe the swindler should be rightly and justly charged for the
crime of fraud against my client. I appreciate the time given, wisdom, and consideration of the facts
of every member of this jury. Thank

Examples Of Assimilation In Fahrenheit 451
The author of Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury, develops the idea of assimilation throughout the
story. Due to everyone acting the same and not really having to think on their own, they are so
adapted to the theory books are evil and that it is wrong to own them. I think Bradbury s overall
message throughout the story is that people should think on their own and not just go with the flow
similar to how everyone else does. In Fahrenheit 451, the citizens are filled with irrelevant
information just so they wouldn t have to think on their own, and possibly offend other people with
their thoughts and the government is intolerant, or not tolerant of views and/or beliefs of people.

Cigarette Smoking And Its Effects On The Human Body
It is widely understood that cigarette smoking carries many serious health risks, especially for
cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension (Rahman et al. 2007). Studies
have shown that cigarettes release over 4000 different chemicals, all of which can wreak havoc
on the every organ of the human body, especially the cardiovascular and pulmonary system, when
inhaled (Jonas et al., 1992; Sin and Man 2003). Over 200 people die every day from complications
due to cigarettesmokingin the United States alone, and smoking cigarettes causes an estimated
76% of all vascular disease (Czermin and Waldherr, 2003; Cole et al., 1993). It therefore stands to
reason that cigarette smoking and how it specifically effects the human body would be an
extremely relevant area of study.
It has been consistently shown that cigarette smoking impairs endothelial dependent vasodilation
in humans (Ueda et al., 1997; Poredos et al., 1999; Campisi et al. 1998, 1999). It also increases the
blood plasma levels of endothelin in both humans and rats (Wright et al., 2001; Goerre et al.
1995; Haak et al., 1994). But until now, researchers have not been able to determine what the
effects of increased endothelin levels due to cigarette smoking have on the vascular system,
specifically on vascular contractility (Rahman et al., 2007). This is of particular interest because
increased endothelin levels have been shown to play a part in atherosclerosis pathogenesis (Haak
et. Al, 1994). In this

The Error Analysis in Second Language Acquisitionwas recognized and named as The
significance of learner errors by Corder and his colleagues. Further Corder delineated that it has
two objectives: one is theoretical and the other is applied. The theoretical objective serves to
explain what and how a learner learns when he studies a second language. The applied objective
serves to enable the learner to learn more efficiently by exploiting our knowledge of his dialect for
pedagogical purposes (Corder, 1974:122).
As per the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Linguistics by Tim (2003) writing is the act of representing,

symbols which are used need to be arranged properly to form words and then to form the

ways of combining and arranging them, which lead us to draft, redraft or revise and so

The issue about choosing the most appropriate intervention with a specific population such as

(2001) found that the majority of child psychiatrists prefer to use psychodynamic/psychoanalytic
therapy interventions and psychotropic medications with children presenting PTSD symptoms,
while non medical clinicians prefer to integrate other types of interventions such as play therapy. In
regards to the fact that physicians prefer to use medications and other well known interventions

physicians are more resistant to the new treatment modalities including EMDR and others because
these types of interventions are less discussed in medical journals compared to nonmedical ones. On

Tanya Barrientos explained her struggle with her identity growing up in her writing Se Habla
EspaГ±ol . Barrientos describes herself as being Guatemalan by birth but pure gringa by
circumstance (83). These circumstances began when her family relocated to the United States
when she was three years old. Once the family moved to the states, her parents only spoke
Spanish between themselves. The children learned to how read, write and speak the English
language to fit into society at that time in 1963. (83) Barrientos explained how society shifted and
the nation changed its views on ethnic identity (85) after she graduated college and it came as a
backlash to her because she had isolated herself from the stereotype she constructed in her head.
She was insulted to be called Mexican and to her speaking the Spanish languagetranslated into

Spanish language was the glue that held the new Latino American community together. Barrientos

Memory Is an Antimuseum
The memory is an antimuseum, an invisible art that transforms each individual. It is ever
developing, much related to spaces, in fact, memory is strictly related to spaces. They are
formed in context of space and time, as I will later develop. Ever since the notion of memory
came to be it was closely related and developed and explained using places, spaces, buildings. The
perfect metaphor for memories is the city. The memorystarts from something simple and by
cumulating information it develops and grows. This metaphor connects the idea of memory and
Architecture on a different, deeper level that normal. There are moments in history that are better

time, a trained memory was of great value. Frances Yates describes the process in the book The Art
of Memory: the process begins with imprinting on the memory a series of loci and places through
the mnemonic type of place system. The person travels through a building a creates memories in
the form of images that he stores in his mind, then he has to describe the visited place in the same

Periapical Lesion Essay
DISCUSSION
Many authors consider placement of an implant in a socket with periapical lesion as a
contraindication, but several studies which were conducted do not show any significant difference
compared to those with healthy sockets.
The disadvantage of the placement of implants into the sockets of teeth with periapical lesions is
the potential for implant contamination during the initial healing period because of remnants of the
infection.(8,13,162)Bacteroides species can inhabit tooth periapical lesions while being
encapsulated in a polysaccharide that promotes its virulence, survival, and importance in mixed
infections. Bacteroides forsythus has been shown to persist in asymptomatic periradicular
endodontic lesions and may survive in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These positive results could be explained by various biological events occurring during bone
healing process, dependent on aspects such as primary stability of the implant, the surgical
technique, the prosthetic load and the associated inflammatory response.(84)
Fugazzotto conducted the only study comparing implants immediately placed into sites with
periapical pathology with those immediately placed into sites without periapical pathology in the
same patient, it was observed that both treatments yielded comparable results with no statistically
significant difference in survival rates.(165)
Regarding the treatment protocol, appropriate clinical procedures to perform the decontamination
of the implant s site, such as antibiotic administration, meticulous cleaning, and alveolar
debridement, combined with GBR with or without bone grafting, is suggested to create adequate
conditions for bone regeneration and osseointegration despite the previous contamination.(6,85,166)
The natural healing process after tooth extraction normally manages residual infection, but as an
infection increases inflammatory activity, infection may result in increased bone resorption and a
higher risk of implant stability loss and failure. The presence of granulation tissue in the socket of
an infected tooth must be considered as an inflammatory response to bacteria. This reactive

  • 4. Anthem Individuality Essay Individuality in Anthem Ceaseless collectivism is not something that can be forced upon a community. Ayn Rand s novel Anthem conveys this through the writings of Equality 7 2125, a man willing to stand up to the collectivism of the society he is confined to. Anthem not only shows how dull and lifeless a society can be with a lack of individuality in its people, but also reveals how one person can significantly impact a community. In addition, Equality continues to make his individualism known by preferring a woman, Liberty 3 5000, above all. While sweeping the streets, Equality takes notice of a woman working in the fields. He is instantly intrigued by her and thinks of her over all others. Equality s attitude is significantly changed by his interactions with Liberty. We do not know why we think of them. We do not know why, when we think of them, we feel of a sudden that earth is good and that it is not a burden to live (Rand 41). Individualism is shown when Equality chooses to favor Liberty. Equality looked at her, even though there were other women in the field that day. He chooses Liberty above all the woman. Equallity shows a preference in only her, which shows individuality. To add, Equality is becoming more unruly and disobiedient by continuing to break rules. The crimes he comits involve talking to woman of other Trades, looking upon woman, and the Transgression of Preference, which is to prefer someone or something above others. Equality s love for Liberty continues to isolate and detach him from his brothers. His love for Liberty motivates him to banish himself from his society and cut off all his ties to it. There are major differences in the leading causes of death between low income, middle income, and high income countries (Moss, 2015). These differences are the result of the varied level of wealth, access to healthcare and clean water, knowledge of health care needs, and the countries ability to provide adequate health care to their citizens. Therefore, certain diseases are more prevalent in poor countries versus wealthy countries (Moss, 2015). For example, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and tuberculosis are major killers in low income countries. Moreover, some preventable diseases are also prevalent in the low income countries, such as lower respiratory infections, diarrheal disease, premature and low weight births, and neonatal infections (Moss, 2015). Infectious diseases remain the leading causes of death among the middle income countries. At older age, the leading causes of death changes to non communicable chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer. This corresponds to the leading causes of death among high income countries (Moss, 2015). Therefore, high income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on chronic non communicable diseases while low income countries spend a significant amount of their GDP on communicable diseases, such as HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis (Moss, 2015). b. And if there is a context in which to view the Presidency of Ronald Wilson Reagan, it is in the context of economics. In two scholarly biographies of our 40th president, The Reagan Effect by John W. Sloan, professor of political science at The University of Houston, and The Reagan Years written by several scholars and edited by Joseph Hogan, professor and head of the Department of Management at Birmingham Polytechnic Business School, Reagan and his presidency are meticulously analyzed under the lens of economics, among other things. Their findings, although contrasting in some areas, conclude, much to my pleasure, that President Reagan was a successful and influential president. Each book is based on a fundamentally different theme. Each respective theme, however is a theme that is insightful and reflective. The theme of The Reagan Effect is based upon the idea that the Reagan Presidency, while handling one of the major challenges of the modern presidency, namely, how to project both narrow and broad appeal, also achieved both political and economic success, while the theme of The Reagan Years is actually an assessment of President Reagan s two administrations in terms of his success in facing the trying requirements of presidential headship. The materials that construct the Recurve bow must be taken into consideration when looking at the force applied from the bow. The most popular material for traditional archers today would have to be a certain type of wood from the yew tree. The reason for this particular choice of wood is that it contains the highest elastic energy storage per unit mass for any type of wood, which is around 700 Jkg 1. Which is very close to having the same rating as spring steel. However with technology these days more people are leaning towards a type of carbon fiberglass laminate. This particular combination brings both a lighter weight than wood and a higher elasticity rating. The reason some wood bows are still around is due to the fact the old timer traditional type archers shun using any kind of technology or advancements to aid them in shooting their bows. The material of the strings also needs to be taken into consideration, this is so because the string mass needs to be kept as low as possible for obvious reasons with efficiency and speed of the bow. • 26. My Life And Life Of A Missionary I look back on my life and realize what a turbulent time I have lived through. Through all of this religious turmoil and political strife I have not lost my faith. I am Yann Allaman and I was born in 1560 in Geneva. I am the only son of my two beloved parents and ever since I was young I knew that I wanted to be a missionary. I am blessed to have been born into a Calvinist family, so that I could have been raised according to God s law. Throughout my life I have spread this religionto as many heretics as possible. Because of my devotion I began my preaching in Geneva, then I traveled to Kampan in the revolting Dutch provinces to spread God s word there, and finally I have settled in New Amsterdam, and continue to preach this very day, 1632. This memoir will not specifically be about Calvinismsince I have already written down my treatise in another text. It will be about my travels throughout Europe and what I have seen. Geneva is the heart of Calvinism and where I was born, so I do have a special connection to it. When I was growing up in Geneva we had the perfect kind of governance in which the church leaders tried their best to insure that the conduct of God s people in Geneva was holy and righteous with Calvin s guidance, Geneva s government became a theocracy (Cole Symes) . Therefore people were prevented from consuming alcohol, dancing, card playing, and more; in order to purify the town. My father was a minister in the Consistory and was very pious, so he ... In my judgment rules that apply to a host of other symbols, such as state flags, armbands, or various privately promoted emblems of political or commercial identity, are not necessarily controlling. • 28. Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Chinese medicine has had a broad history and with it even broader applications. It has seen use for over twenty five thousand years within China s borders and is still being used, researched, and refined in modern times. The concepts of traditional Chinese medicine found it s basis in the philosophy of Taoism, which focuses on balancing the body with environment to achieve optimum health and sustainability as opposed to treating illness by itself. The emphasis on harmony originates from the Taoism concept of Yinyang, which is defined as by the balance between it s two basic elements where one must contain a bit of the other, and Wu Xing which encompasses five environmental elements: Water, Fire, Wood, Earth, and Metal. These elements are used to categorize organs in the body in order to determine how one organ would interact with another. An example would be if a Fire heart is overstressed or inflamed , it can be remedied by strengthening the opposing element of Water in the body through the kidneys in order to rebalance. Each organ, while performing it s own function, needs to be coordinating with and complementing other organs. This gave birth to the idea that tracking the functions of organs in various states, either by themselves or with other organs, could predict what would cause something to disrupt bodily harmony or the cause of it in the sick. Because of the holistic nature of traditional Chinese medicine, a very comprehensive analysis of a person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kant refers these intuitions into what he calls the three fold synthesis. Kant describes the three fold synthesis as the capacities in the understanding to compare, connect, and unify the fragmentary manifold items in intuition (A97). To put it in different terms, the three fold synthesis describes the necessary components for intuition of what is happening in the outside world. It allows us to Kant believed that the three fold synthesis is divided into three different types of synthesis. According to Kant, it is required that all of the synthesis work in unison in order for experience to happen. Experience is what makes possible the synthesis of apprehension, in return makes the possibility of the synthesis of reproduction, which creates the possibility of the synthesis of recondition. Therefore, Kant argues, the synthesis of recondition is contingent on experience. Kant also stated that for each of the three fold synthesis, there are both empirical and pure levels. In other words, each of the three fold synthesis have two ways of being interpreted in the mind, one based on our intellects because it is gathered through experience, and another based upon the fact that the manifold works in unison with the others and are dependent on each other for experience to happen. • 34. Cigarette Smoking And Its Effects On The Human Body It is widely understood that cigarette smoking carries many serious health risks, especially for cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension (Rahman et al. 2007). Studies have shown that cigarettes release over 4000 different chemicals, all of which can wreak havoc on the every organ of the human body, especially the cardiovascular and pulmonary system, when inhaled (Jonas et al., 1992; Sin and Man 2003). Over 200 people die every day from complications due to cigarettesmokingin the United States alone, and smoking cigarettes causes an estimated 76% of all vascular disease (Czermin and Waldherr, 2003; Cole et al., 1993). It therefore stands to reason that cigarette smoking and how it specifically effects the human body would be an extremely relevant area of study. It has been consistently shown that cigarette smoking impairs endothelial dependent vasodilation in humans (Ueda et al., 1997; Poredos et al., 1999; Campisi et al. 1998, 1999). It also increases the blood plasma levels of endothelin in both humans and rats (Wright et al., 2001; Goerre et al. 1995; Haak et al., 1994). But until now, researchers have not been able to determine what the effects of increased endothelin levels due to cigarette smoking have on the vascular system, specifically on vascular contractility (Rahman et al., 2007). This is of particular interest because increased endothelin levels have been shown to play a part in atherosclerosis pathogenesis (Haak et. Al, 1994). In this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In regards to the fact that physicians prefer to use medications and other well known interventions such as psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, Muris Merckelbach (1999) suggest that many physicians are more resistant to the new treatment modalities including EMDR and others because these types of interventions are less discussed in medical journals compared to nonmedical ones. From a footnote in American history of little consequence until the cotton fields of the antebellum South, it has evolved into a study that now sees the institution as the most significant element in the colonization and exploitation of this hemisphere by Europeans. It also acknowledges the participation of Africans and the Amerindians in this process and furthermore sees it as essential to its occurrence. The added significance of the Atlantic system has created a more compelling picture and thrust slaveryto the forefront of the story form the beginning of this historical era, in fact from before the moment Columbus encountered the Arawaks on Hispaniola. To understand the history of the settling of European America is to understand the role slavery played in the economic and political success of the one third of the migrants that arrived by choice at the expense of the two thirds that arrived in chains.
