The Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy
Two different psychotherapies approaches were implemented in the Gloria videos each video
highlighted the respective approach of each psychotherapist. Albert Ellis who established the
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Fritz Perls who developed the Gestalt approach.
Each therapy section in the video was about 30 minutes where each psychotherapist got the
opportunity to explain his theory, interview Gloria and then discuses and explain the his founding.
The main different between these two different approaches can be explained by the effect of the
interaction between the therapist and Gloria. The Gestalt approach focus on self awareness and the
present rather than the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy(REBT), which focus on the cognitive,
emotional and behavioral conflicts.
When it comes to the theoretical view of human nature presented in the Gestalt approach the
problem starts when someone tries to be who he or she are not. According to clinical
psychology book writing by Trull, T. J., Prinstein, M. J. (2013). Fritz Perls believes people are
able to confront their problems if they become fully aware of what is happening within oneself
and outside of oneself. When an individual does not show whom or how they really feeling in
the outside it can make it difficult for a change. It is important for the patients to be aware of
what and who they are instead of trying to become what they are not. In the Gloria set of videos

Gun Ownership In Early America Summary
In the article Gun Ownership in Early America: A Survey of Manuscript Militia Returns by Robert
Churchill, he discusses how gun ownership in the early 18th and 19th centuries was scarce and at
times the armed militias were the only people who had guns at all. It was because of this that the
government made gun ownership exceptional. This is different from today when gun ownership is
everywhere. Due to the high concentration of guns sometimes it is hard to count how many are
sold in the United Statesevery year. To learn that guns, at one time, were almost non existent is
almost hard to believe. In the article, the author talks about Michael Bellesiles a historian who first
wrote on gun ownership in America in 1996. Bellesiles was the... Show more content on

Unlike the 18th and 19th centuries, the government today is much against gun ownership. So much
so that they have enacted gun control laws that would take all guns away from American citizens.
Though guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands, Americans have the right to bear arms. To take
gun ownership away would mean destroying the Constitutional right of every American. Instead of
gun control everyone that buys a gun they should undergo an intense back ground check and be
required to attend gun ownership classes to learn how to safely use the weapon. In the article it is
stated that most guns in the 18th and 19th centuries were owned by younger men and boys. This
would suggest that younger men in those centuries were more mature than those of today. Back
then people had to fend for themselves because money was not as prevalent as it is today, so
owning a gun was more of a necessity. Now when younger people possess a fire arm the outcome
is more violent. The damage inflicted by young people with guns in the last decade has been some
of the worst America has ever witnessed. The Sandy Hook shooting being the most recent string of
school related gun violence. In the 18th and 19th centuries, this type of behavior was never
recorded, but the population was sparser and children then did not have violent videogames, TV

The Breakfast Club Analysis
Don t Skip Breakfast!
The Breakfast Club is a timeless movie centered around the very relevant concept of discovering
your identity and breaking away from stereotypes. It is about a group of 5 defiant high school
students who are all forced to spend their Saturday in detention. The five main characters include
Claire (Molly Ringwald) the princess, Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) the brain, Andrew (Emilio
Estevez) the jock, Allison (Ally Sheedy) the weirdo, and John Bender (Judd Nelson) the criminal.
These students have very different personalities and very little in common or so they think. The
five are stuck together under the oppressive authority of Richard Vernon (Paul Gleason) the
Principal, who served as a common enemy for the students. Their sole task for that Saturday was
to write an essay describing who they are, a question that remained pondered for the duration of
the film as The Breakfast Club is an iconic story of self discovery.
WHAT WORKED The Breakfast Club did an excellent job of capturing the strife of students as
they try and find themselves through their adolescent years. They have all been cast a different
stereotype and at the beginning of the movie it is clear that all of the characters have a fairly
decent idea of who they think everyone is. Every viewer can relate to at least one of the various
stereotypes, and I think your overall enjoyment of the movie will depend on how easily you can
identify with one of the characters. Their stereotypes are

Essay on Agent Orange
We must do everything in our power to make the world recognize that our veterans are still
paying a high price for fighting the war in Vietnam. Agent Orange is slowly taking the lives of
these brave veterans. The government has recognized some diseases but the rules to compensation
can be complex. It was in the 1960 s that we were in the process of trying to destroy vegetation and
brushin Vietnam, in doing so we proceeded to contaminate one of the largest parts of the
environment, Humankind. War Veterans
were exposed to Agent Orange and now live their lives
with a disease not necessarily curable. The question remains did these Veterans know about the
hazardous effects, and how are they being compensated now? Agent Orange was the code... Show

The destruction this chemical caused to the vegetation should have been the first clue that what
destroys nature will in due time destroy us. We are the cause for this mess; but we should have been
notified much earlier about the potential risk associated with Agent Orange. According to the

Examples Of Personal Narrative
Personal Narrative It was the year of 2013, I was going into 4th grade and school was just a
month away. But it wasn t the 4th grade that I was looking forward to, because my family was
moving to a small town in Wisconsin named Mosinee. I grew up in a suburb just on the outskirts
of the great city known as Chicago. I loved it there, and wanted to live there for the rest of my
life; I guess my parents didn t exactly feel the same way. Little did I know that this move would
shape my personality and change me in many different ways. And ultimately, to make me a
better person as a whole. When I told my very few friends that I was moving, they always asked
why. I really didn t have an answer and didn t think about it that much. The day eventually came,
and we had all of our stuff was ready, my family was ready, but I wasn t. I couldn t imagine a life
without my normal friends and my normal school, and didn t realize that this move would be one of
the best things that has ever happened to me.
After we gave our hardest goodbye, I started my journey to my new house. I tried to stay
optimistic, but that was very hard because I new that I wasn t going to get another friend until
school started, which was a month away. I also don t have a relationship ... Show more content on

more and more. We are still friends to this very day, and I find it incredible how a small story could
spark a great friendship. He eventually introduced me to his friend named Caden Hrebik. Caden
was a shy kid like I was at the time, so we got along very well. We called ourselves the three

Real Madrid Essay
REAL MADRID CASE STUDY
Summary
Real Madrid is one of the most storied sports franchises in the world. It is one of the few sports
teams with international appeal to a very broad fan base. This case delves into how Real Madrid
transitioned from a good soccer team with a winning history into the global sports juggernaut we
know today.
We first examined Real Madrids revenue streams and found that from their inception through the
1970s their business model was based almost entirely on their ticket sales. After the 1970s up until
2003 they had some media rights, a small merchandising department, and some other negligible
streams of income. It was in 2003 that team President Florintino Perez decided to make Real Madrid
into a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Execution of each stage allowed Real Madrid to take in revenue through several streams such as
match day and international competition, marketing(merchandise sold at the clubs web site and
stores, sponsorships, fan cards, etc. ), broadcast and pay tv revenue (Exhibit 1).
The club further evolved to identify 4 brand drivers that Perez stated would nurture and project the
Real Madrid brand worldwide. The first was the size of the audience, secondly the frequency in
which the audience engaged with the brand, thirdly, the socio demographic characteristics of the
audience and lastly, bridges that could be built to link the brand and the audience. Each of these
changes reflected the clubs transition to a global brand with marketing capability.
Growth opportunities for Real Madrid existed in both new and existing markets. With content seen
as the product, opportunities to provide new content to current markets were available through
pay tv and new technologies like movies, video games and use of the Real Madrid website. The
website could also be used to for additional merchandising as well. For new markets, winning on
the field was translated to good content and provided Real Madrid with an advantage over other
clubs in the battle to recruit new fans from international markets.
The greatest risk to Real Madrid s revenue streams was the prospect of losing on the field. Ideally,

The Genetic Disorder Or Autoimmune Disease
A.Who first discovered the genetic disorder or autoimmune disease? Kraepelin recognized
biological causes of mental illnesses. He is believed to be the first person to seriously study
mental illnesses. Kraepelin s Manic Depressive Insanity and Paranoia in 1921 detailed the
difference between manic depressive and praecox, which is now known as schizophrenia.
B. Is the disease state recessive or dominant? One study has also found a higher frequency in
families where the disorder is inherited from mothers. A particular case inquiry may be considered,
assuming that bipolar affective disorder can be inherited as a sex linked recessive trait or as an
autosomal recessive trait.
C. Differentiate between recessive or dominant? The difference between the two is that it depends
on the parents in which one or the both have the gene that is dominant but in which chase if it is
recessive it would not get passed down.
D. Is it a chromosomal abnormality? Although there is compelling evidence from twin, family, and
adoption studies to support strong genetic determinants for bipolar affective disorder, the
underlying molecular genetic basis for this condition remains poorly understood. The identification
of the genes responsible for major psychiatric illnesses such as bipolar disorder would greatly
enhance our understanding of etiology, as well as open new avenues for the development of more
specific and effective treatments.

Child Custody In The 1970 s
Child custody have been an issue for many years but no clear rules have been established until
approximately in the 1970 s. In the early colonial years, the arrangement was unappealing to
children and their mothers and possibly doing psychologically damage. Luckily, history has
evolved and children s well being has become a priority in divorcecases. Early in the 1800 s the
father was the head of the household and this included the children. Nurturing was not in
consideration but needing help with labor and the farm was a necessity. Children were viewed as
property and and had very little rights. In the 1800 s, Caroline Norton, who just recently divorced

Selfishness in The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant Essay
Selfishness in The Necklace by Maupassant
In Guy de Maupassant s, The Necklace all the characters in the story exhibit similar behavior by
showing that they think of themselves rather than of others. A close look at the behavior of the
characters in The Necklace reveals more than a story about a spoiled selfish woman, but what we
see is a story about a whole society of selfish people.
In The Necklace a woman named Mathilde lives a depressed life because she does not live the
life style that she desires. She was one of those pretty and charming women, born, as if by an
error of destiny into a family of clerks and copyists. She had no dowry, no prospects, no way of

wrap while they were wearing expensive furs. When they arrive home they realize the necklace is
gone, so they retrace their steps trying to find it. When they have no luck, they buy the necklace
for thirty six thousand francs borrowing every cent from people. They spend ten years repaying
everything back including interest. When it is over, Mathilde confesses to her friend and receives
the shocking news that the necklace was costume jewelry and only worth a mere 500 francs at most.
In The Necklace, Mathilde is very selfish throughout the story. Mathilde shows her selfishness
when she longs to be rich and live in a nice home, wear expensive clothing and wear flashy jewelry
with her clothes. These…show how materialistic Mathilde is and how selfish she is for
caring only about gaining these things for herself, says one critic (Directessays). Mr. Loisel
provides the basic necessities for her to live a good life, but she wants more than just the basic
necessities. She wants wealth and good social status that she does not and can not have. She feels
depressed every time she thinks about wealth or visits her rich friend [Mrs. Forrestier], a comrade
from convent days, whom she did not want to see anymore because she suffered so much

Introduction of Art Nouveau
Introduction to Art Nouveau
The Art Nouveau ( new art ) movement was one of the first departures from classical art and
design, towards a new modernism. The Modernism and Art Nouveau movements occurred during
what was known in France as the Belle Г‰poque, or beautiful era period of the late 19th and
early 20th centuries. The movement was primarily influenced by the radical work of Czech
(Moravian) artist Alfons Mucha, Swiss decorative artist EugГЁne Grasset, and English illustrator
Aubrey Beardsley ( The Peacock Skirt ) and the ground breaking architecture and design work of
Hector Guimard of Paris and Antoni GaudГ of Barcelona.
The Art Nouveau movement focussed heavily on the themes of nature, fantasy, and the female

In particular because of the art gallery La Maison de l Art Nouveau , which was opened as a
showroom for the new art by a Japanese art collector, Siegfried Bing.
All the Art Nouveau artists were largely reacting against the Classic aesthetic, a style described as
often fussy and inhibited. They found a freeing vocabulary in natural and organic forms. The
movement s signature motif was the S curve, which might be found in a flower s stem on a brooch
or the trail of smoke from a cigarette depicted in a theater poster.
The Art Nouveau artists were not shy about the naked body, contrary to their predecessors, and the
Art Nouveau style is often described as a feminine one. But some Art Nouveau was also geometric
as the forms designed by Wiener Werkstatte and Josef Hoffmann.

Anabolic Steroids In Professional Sports
Athletic endeavors have long been an integral part of human society from some of the earliest
development of civilization. Sports have always served as a metaphor for life and the triumphs of
human performance which are readily displayed by many historical and contemporary competitors
are the subject of praise and admiration for millions of people. Thus, professional athletes occupy
a surprisingly important position in world culture and their exploits can have wide reaching
consequences that extend far beyond their field of competition. This is the basis of the case
Sandel makes in his book as he examines the role of sports from a very philosophical standpoint.
With the advent of performance enhancing drugs and the use of medical therapies... Show more

Conversely, if this kind of devaluation of human virtue and character does occur it is likely that
respect for all human achievement will also be cheapened. It is hard to imagine that the ability to
enhance oneself physically and elevate their abilities to champion level in sport would not detract
from the admiration of natural human abilities focused in other endeavors as well. For instance the
value that is placed in art, literature, music, poetry and the like is intrinsically linked to the human
creativity that is represented by the respective works. Therefore, the significance that is attributed
to these cultural building blocks may also be denigrated as a part of the domino effect caused by

The Reason That Chip Wilson Plunged Lululemon Into Crisis
Analysis The reason that Chip Wilson plunged Lululemon into crisis again is because of three
major issues: lack of media training as a spokesperson, lack of comprehensive crisis
management plan in the company, and failure of internal communication. First of all,
spokesperson media training is part of crisis preparation. In this case, lacking media training
includes training for a TV interview and training for filming a video apology. Prior to Chip
Wilson s interview with Bloomberg TV, managers from the PR department should have
conducted a comprehensive media training to Wilson. Topics cover from diagnosing company s
vulnerabilities, to preparing for difficult questions, to how to utilize chances to re enhance the
company s image, and how to risk averse after a major crisis. As Wilson s answer caused another
crisis, I assume that he was not ready to answer the questions of sheer pants recall, nor he was ever
participated in any media training at all. Erik Bernstein who runs a crisis managementblog noted
that some people should never act as spokesperson. In fact, what surprised me was that as a
company s founder and chairman of board, it was Chip Wilson s responsibility to have a general
knowledge about the crisis and what caused the crisis and what procedures they have taken to
solve the crisis. Even though he was never prepared for those questions beforehand, answers such
as women s bodies don t fit its pants should have never came up. This crisis could have been

Gaius Julius Caesar Analysis
The Things Which are Caesar s
Gaius Julius Caesar was a military commander, a Roman consul, and Dictator of Ancient Rome.
His military victories, cult of personality, and influence on Roman life brought him respect in
Rome. Cicero, an orator of the era, confirmed Cesar s accounts of his role during the civil war. In
representing his own role in the Roman Civil War, Julius Caesarsketches a picture of his influence
on his contemporaries that rings true when compared to Cicero s documentation of the same
period. Though Caesar praises himself while Cicero scorns him, a consistent picture of Caesar s
influence emerges from a close reading of the two authors: he instilled fear in the hearts of Roman
Senators and inspired loyalty in Roman Citizens.
In Caesar s account in The Civil War, he presents the Roman Senators persecuting him as
unreasonable and himself as justified, a contrast to Cicero s personal criticisms of the commander.
Caesar states that the Senate is punishing him for his moderate demands (pg. 37). Caesar accounts
that the Roman Senate refuses to dismantle Pompey s army, in addition, he states that the Roman
Senate is using unnecessary measures against him, as he recounts, ...harsh measures were
advocated; and the more savage and vindictive the speaker, the more he was applauded by Caesar
s enemies (pg.36 40). This account paints Caesar s opponents as harboring a vendetta which will
result in destruction for Rome. Caesar portrays the Senate s persecution

Once Upon A Time In The West Essay
The opening sequence of Spaghetti Western film, Once Upon a Time in the West (Sergio Leone,
1968), showcases how director, Sergio Leone, utilises the formal properties of the medium of
cinema to produce meaning for the audience and foreshadow later events and themes which arise
throughout the development of the plot. The filmopens with a single scene of a mysterious,
harmonica playing gunman (Charles Bronson), embroiled in a showdown with three men that have
been drafted to kill him (Jack Elam, Woody Strode, Al Mulock). The sequence culminates with the
gunman binding up his wounded arm and collecting his belongings, abandoning the other three
men dead by a railway line. This essay will endeavour to explore how each creative and technical
element of the production creates a sense of ambiguity and tension to the scene, grasping the
audience s engagement with the film. To do this, the mise en scГЁne, cinematography, editing,
sound and performance of the text will each be subject to detailed analysis.

the sense of dread. For example, in the moments of the aftermath of the shooting, the character of

angles and cuts to portray this sequence, Leone favours a single mid shot that lasts twenty seven
seconds. This protracted sequence builds the sense of enigma surrounding the Harmonica who is
this man and what will he do next? The length of the shot also hints at the characterisation of the
gunman to the audience; the leisurely pace at which he performs his duties depicting him as
someone who is not afraid of danger or violence, traits which are seen again and again throughout

Carlos Museum Experience
After Visiting the Carlos Museum, it became evident to me that the ethics of displaying human
remains is more nuanced than I had originally realized. Some cultures, such as the ancient
Egyptians, are thought to have striven to be eternalized through mummification, and therefore
would have wanted to be put on display. On the other hand, some cultures, like Native Americans,
can explicitly tells us that they do not want their remains to be put on display. Furthermore, I
learned from this experience that a corpse s treatment right after its deathis often an indicator for
how a person was viewed in life.
The curators and conservers at the Carlos Museum take into account the culture from which
remains come, whether a body is in a state that is dignified, and if it is necessary in the first place
to display the body. For example, one Old Kingdom mummy (the only one in the Western
Hemisphere) was collected by William ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who buried the corpse of Richard III, however, probably did not hold him to the same
level of respect as their other kings and queens. Richard s corpse was found buried under what
was the floor of a small friary in Leicestershire, England; he was not given a royal burial. The
corpse, lost for centuries, was never meant to be found. His treatment in death reveals how he was
viewed by his enemies at least, but may give an idea of how his kingdom viewed him as well.
The experience at the Carlos Museum brought to my attention the great detail that goes into not
only the preparation, restoration, and conservation of corpses, but also what thought goes into the
decision to display a corpse or not. Also, the connections between the treatment of human remains
and the discovered corpse of Richard III reveal how the treatment of a corpse often indicates how it

The Growth Of The Corporate Bond Market
In the last few years, a number of things have changed:
There has been a significant increase in new corporate bond issues (and other hybrid securities) that
can be accessed by sophisticated retail investors, including growth of issues by unrated companies.
Ways for retail investors to access corporate bonds have continued to develop.
Regulatory changes to reduce impediments to retail investment in corporate bonds are slowly
occurring.
Ultimately, the maturation of the corporate bond market depends upon three key factors: underlying
demand of investors; potential supply by corporate issuers; regulatory and other impediments to
connecting investors and issuers.
Access has long been a problem for individual investors with an ... Show more content on

While there have been significant developments in the regulatory sphere to assist the development
of the retail corporate bond market, there remains some ambiguity about the treatment of SMSFs
and their trustees as sophisticated investors, and their consequent ability to participate in wholesale
market offerings. This ambiguity warrants resolution given the increasing importance of that sector
and the increasing relevance of fixed interest investments for funds with ageing members.

Symbolism In Big Two Hearted River By Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway became one of the most notorious writers in the 20th century, likely due to
his abnormal style of writing. Hemingway in his writing introduced the new concept of Iceberg
Theory which gives the story a implicit meaning made by the author that should be further
inferred by the reader. In order to achieve this style Hemingway throughout his works used
objects and movements by characters to symbolize emotion, actions and other deeper objects.
Many of Hemingway s symbols reoccur among different stories; one of his most recurring
symbols is a train/tracks which is used in following Big Two Hearted River , Canary ,and Hills

Why The University Of Iowa Essay
Over the past few weeks, I ve had the chance to talk with individual faculty, students, staff, and
others about what drew me to the University of Iowa, my approach to the role of president, and the
need to work together. I d like to take this opportunity to start a broader conversation.
Why the University of Iowa?
I ve been asked this question by both supporters and detractors in recent weeks. If you belong to
the University of Iowa community, you ve probably asked yourself, or been asked, this same
question.
Let me offer my answer. You may find that I came to the University of Iowa for much the same
reason you did.
I am a graduate of a public research institution, and I believe these institutions are the foundation of
our future. Through their mission of teaching, research, and service, they promise to make our
individual and collective lives better.
The University of Iowa addresses these missions with a balanced commitment to the sciences, arts,
and humanities; a culture that sincerely wants every student to succeed; and a deep sense of
obligation to the people of its state. It s a unique place with an essential purpose.
This is why I was interested.
We need to remember why so many of us have chosen Iowa as a place to study, work, and live.
We are creative and collaborative, inspired by this place and its history. We re pragmatic but not
afraid to think big. We value hard work, we speak forthrightly, and we honor our promises. That s
why we are Iowa.

The Critique Of Kenneth Branagh s The Hamlet
In 1996, British actor and director, Kenneth Branagh took on the production of the film The
Hamlet. It is notable that Branagh took into consideration the play s intricate detail as he built
around the film. In his directing effort, he made both plausible and not so brilliant decisions too.
It is commendable to a given extent that Branagh maintained Shakespearean language throughout
the film. However, he did away with a significant part of the play s ambiguous quality by making
plain, mindful decisions on aspects such as setting, characterization and others in the film.
Branagh put it in the Napoleonic era rather than the Middle Ages according to Shakespeare s
original version. BRANAGH S DIRECTOR CONCEPT EMPLOYED STRATEGIES AIMED AT
CREATING A BLOWN UP DRAMATIC VISION OF HAMLET
. Several cinematic basics, such as
the film s melodic make, compliment Branagh s complex vision of the film and intrigue the
audience.

enchanting and witty. His choice to slightly modernize the setting creates a more pompous set plus
costume design that becomes an aesthetic quality to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Claudius and as the Ghost narrates, a montage of the events plays. This montage gives the audience
a comprehensible illustration of the Ghost s story as Hamlet draws images of it in his own mind.
Instead of showing the visualization of either Hamlet or the Ghost, Branagh shows the true
moments for the audience to critic the characters on their

Fear In Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo (2003) is a very touching animated film about a father s journey to find his son.
Marlin, the father, is known as overprotective and wary of all dangers of the sea. Nemo is his
only son, and after a near death experience, Marlin spends his days mostly confined to his sea
anemone home avoiding all possible dangers of the world. Nemo is a very curious and sheltered fish
who wants to experience the world. When this curiosity gets him kidnapped by a sea diver, Marlin
s worst fear is now his reality. Finding Nemois a heartwarming tale with a strong theme of facing
and conquering your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his
wife admiring their soon to be babies when suddenly the scene turns dark. The music in the film
stops, along with all sounds of ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the
audience with fear and dread. The fish are then attacked by a larger hungry fish leaving Marlin s
wife and all but one of their babies dead. The fear and sadness is apparent when Marlin sheds a
tear whilst holding the quivering egg that would soon be his son.... Show more content on

The audience is easily able to identify moments during the film where danger is imminent by
studying the patterns. Before every dangerous scene, there is a pause a stop, of all activity

while still adding a little fantasy as well. Realism is a natural style of acting used to make the
movie seem 100% possible and real in the eyes of the audience, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014). The
use of underwater sound effects, fish activity, and bright, scientifically accurate color schemes
pulls the audience in and begs them to stretch their imagination to accept this new reality. Before
every scene, all activity ceases, all music ends, and the colors become dull or even dark

Myth Gender Based Wage Gap
Myth Gender Based Wage Gap
Raaga Agraharam
Soc 101
Introduction:
On January 29, 2016, The White House Press Office released a FACT SHEET on new steps to
advance equal pay for women. This FACT SHEET states that,
the median wage of a woman working full time all year in the United States is about $39,600 only
79 percent of a man s median earnings of $50,400 (The White House, 2016).
However, many scholars and economists disagree that a gender wage gap exists. In addition,
conservative political experts and bloggers promote the notion that gender based wage gap is an
idea propagated by feminists, women empowering organizations, and progressives. However,
almost all the working women in the United States, and organizations such as Institute for Women s
Policy Research (IRWP), and American Association of University Women (AAAU), strongly
believe in the existence of the gender wage gap.
This sociological issue of equal pay for women is extremely relevant in today s environment
where women perform equal work as men in many occupations. Furthermore, with almost 50% of
the work force being women, women contributing equally to the family income, and a large
number of women being the single parents supporting children, lack of equal pay over time could
increase the poverty rates for women (White House, 2016). In addition, IWPR s 2015 report on the
status of American women, states that if women receive equal pay for the same work, poverty rate
among women will see a

The Story Of The Gadarene Demoniacs
Introduction
The story of the Gadarene demoniacs in Matthew 8:28 9:1 begins with the conclusion of another
miracle. After calming a storm out at sea, Jesus disembarks in Gadara. He encounters two
possessed men living in the tombs who are making it difficult for people to pass by. The men
recognize Jesus as the Son of God and call out to him defensively. Before Jesus even
acknowledges them, the demons ask to be sent to a heard of swine, if they are to be cast out.
Jesus simply says Go! and the demons go into the pigs, which immediately rush down a bank into
the sea and drown. The pig herders tell the town what they saw and the townspeople beg Jesus to
leave.
Matthew s version of this pericope is significantly shorter than the parallel ... Show more content on

The demons ask to leave in a certain direction, Jesus sends the demons away, the pigs run away, the
swineherds run away, and the townspeople send Jesus away.
Outline:
1.Jesus arrives and encounters the demoniacs
2.The demoniacs ask why he is there
3.There are pigs not so nearby
4.The demons beg to go to the pigs
5.Jesus says go
6.The demons go into the pigs
7.The pigs run away and die
8.The swineherds go to tell the town
9.The townspeople come and beg Jesus to go
10.Jesus goes back across the sea
This passage is the fifth in a set of six miracle pericopes. Starting at the beginning of chapter
eight, Jesus heals a leper, heals a dying servant, heals Peter s mother in law and many others,
calms a storm, casts out the demons from the Gadarenes, and heals a paralytic. The stories are
divided in two sets of three, separated by a strange interlude about the followers of Jesus. The
second set of miracles emphasizes strongly the response to Jesus work in each pericope. The
calming of the storm prompted astonishment and confusion. The casting out of the demons
provoked rejection by the townspeople. Finally, the healing of the paralytic inspired awe and
worship in crowds that observed the miracle. He seems to be traveling alone to Gadara, in contrast
to travelling with crowds in the surrounding pericopes.
In the context of the wider Gospel of Matthew, the story of the Gadarene demoniacs

Further, we believe that Dylan s statements on videotape and her statements to us during our

Pros And Cons Of The Executive Branch
...Power over any one thing, if not limited by some obvious and precise affinity, may amount to a
Power over every other. James madison. James Madison s ideas about the American Constitution
(considering he wrote the first draft) clearly reflects his opinion about how one branch should not
have more power than another, and if one happens to be able to exploit a specific power, or given
to much power; it will have power over everything. This is crucial to the inner workings of America
s government because without Branches constantly checking each other, America is just a good as
a Monarchy.
The executive branch has the ability to check the other branches as well as it being constantly

The Responsibility Of Organizational Effectiveness
Leadership Style The responsibility of organizational effectiveness is in the hands of the institution
s leaders. Leaders develop business strategies to maintain relevance or launch the business into the
next generation or category. An important factor of strategic success is how managers and
supervisors lead followers in a new direction. The foundation of the relationship will determine if
the employees will give total commitment to the organization s strategy or do the minimal tasking.
Organizational Effectiveness Organizations are continually evolving to meet the requests of the
stakeholders, customers, and the environment. Strategic renewal is revamping an organization s
business model, target audience, or products or services to meet the demands put on the leaders
(Spector, 2013). Therefore, the success of the company s new strategy is dependent on the leaders
capability to support the new internal processes with the external requirements (Spector, 2013).
Strategic Leadership Strategic leadership is the capability to incorporate forward thinking ideas and
concepts into a business s functions while simultaneously influencing employees to accept the new
processes (Malewska Sajdak, 2014). Consequently, leaders cannot announce a change or new
strategy and expect the staff to understand the latest expectations; it takes a more in depth, hands on
approach to make the system work. In a 1998 study, chief executive officers (CEOs) from American
businesses ranked

The New Frontier Of State University
INTRODUCTION
Computers have been around for quite a while but the introduction of the Internet opened a new
frontier for the world allowing people to communicate around the world and find information
quickly. Currently, many businesses and schools have their own computer infrastructures that they
have created and manage themselves. Many people buy software either online or at the store and
download it onto their computer, which can sometimes take hours. Storage on these computers are
limited to the physical amount that was bought and to increase this, you have to connect external

Not only is this more efficient, but it allows you to work from almost anywhere and with

with the Internet, its ideal. It s the reason that businesses and universities are making the switch
over to the cloud. OSU is also beginning to make the step towards the cloud.
CLOUD COMPUTING
What is the Cloud Computing?
The cloud is another word for the Internet. Traditionally, you have a computer with a hard drive
where you save all your data and run programs from that computer (Griffith). With the cloud, you
are saving files and using programs from the Internet, which allows you to use any computer with
Internet access. The key advantage of cloud computing is scalability. This means that it adapts to
your needs and workload. The main difference is when it comes to resources like software
applications, storage space, etc., which have fixed capacities and upfront costs. Cloud computing
allows you to only pay for what you need, avoiding unused capacities.
Cloud computing is the complete opposite of using your hard drive. Local storage means running
applications and programs from your hard drive in your computer. Everything you need is
physically close to you, which means accessing your data is fast and easy, for that

Internal Conflict In Anthem By Ayn Rand
There has always been a slight apprehension towards being alone or standing alone. Students rarely
want to admit to having an answer different from the rest of their classmates; some people do not
want to go somewhere and do something by themselves. Notably, with more shy or anxious people,
they will often stick around someone they know, so they will not be alone in the crowd. Although
that company might help them make it through those nerve wracking moments, when is the right
time for them to walk alone? Should a person ever walk alone? In Ayn Rands Anthem, Equality s
internal conflict of conformity versus individuality plays a role that Equality needs to overcome in
order to complete their quest for freedom which helps create their outcast archetype and gives
significance to the final word of the novel.
The internal conflict in Anthem plays a role within the novel by providing the complication that the
protagonist, Equality, has to overcome in order to complete their quest. Equality is on a quest for
freedom and for knowledge, even though it will separate them from their brothers. From the
beginning of the novel until the third chapter, Equality notes how they commit transgressions
against their society, such as preference, and how they are different from their brothers, an example
being Equality s height of 6 feet tall. In the third chapter, Equality more or less accepts their fate of
being alone, even though the internal conflict still silently lurks in the

Nuclear fusion is a form of nuclear reaction which occurs when two or more atomic nuclei collide
at a very high speed and as a result, join to form a new type of atomic nucleus. During this process,
matter is not conserved because some of the mass of the fusing nuclei is converted into energy.
Fusion is currently the process that powers active stars. Fusion was first achieved in 1951 with the

Gamma radiation is also a possible byproduct from a fusion reactor. However, the amount of
gamma rays produced will be noticeably less than the amount of x rays produced and anything
that is sufficient enough to shield from x rays will be more than enough to shield from gamma
rays. The only other places radiation can come from are from the top and bottom of the vacuum
chamber. Regardless of how much radiation will be coming from the bottom of the chamber it will
not affect us because we won t be looking under the chamber or above the chamber most likely
when the reactor is running.
On top of this both the top of the bottom are being built from aluminum which will stop some
radiation. Lastly, a thin sheet of lead, or a some water / dirt can be placed on top or under the
container in order to help block the radiation a lot more.
Due to the risks that can occur from high radiation levels, a backup plan has been developed in
the case of high radiation levels. To start, at the start of the project a Geiger Counter will be

reaches unsafe levels.
Should the radiation level be determined to be harmful, the reactor will be surrounded by material in

The Rights Of The Global Warming
My argument is that those who have taken part in causing global warming, which are the developed
countries, should be held responsible by cutting back more than other countries to correct the
injustice that they have inflicted on the poorer countries. These nations are infringing on the rights
of the victimized nations. Therefore, I would argue that there is an ethical basis for deciding
whether some countries should cut back emissions more than others because the situation is not
only unfair, but also violates the rights of innocent people. Everyone has a right to life, a right to
not be harmed, and more specifically, the right not to have one s life taken directly as a means to
further one s end (Finnis). Immanuel Kant thought reason tells us to, Act only on a maxim that you
can will to be a universal law (Kant). Under Kantism views, an ethical act is ethical if it can become
universal law without undermining some sort of construct. If we say that developed countries can
emit greenhouse gases, thus causing harm, without consequence, then it will undermine the
principle that the innocent has the right to not be harmed. Therefore, when that right is violated,
there is an ethical issue. For example, if a burglar steals, it is only fair that they are reprimanded
accordingly by giving back what they stole, plus an additional punishment, to ameliorate the harm
that he caused. To extrapolate this example to global warming, the developed nations are stealing
from the poor

The Importance of Securing Sensitive Items Essay example
Sensitive items are anything that is considered classified or a mission essential item. These
items can include protective gear, maps, or a piece of paper designating patrol routes. The
importance of securing sensitive items comes down to maintaining accountability for operation
security, mission success and a soldiers over all readiness. The habits of exercising security and
accountability of a soldiers items allow the soldier and their team to operate to the highest
standards or have items be accessed by an opposing adversary creating loss of overall mission
success. Operational security is a process that denied critical information to an adversary. If one

Although sensitive items of restricted nature may not disclose information of high value, items
and information obtained from being unsecured can cause adverse effects impacting mission
success to include compromised routes, vehicle information or sensitive items used for personal

pictures of a units operations. Leaving the units operational security compromised. Each person
themselves are responsible for exercising reasonable and effective actions to properly care, store,
safeguard and use any and all items presented to them whether it be issued or acquired through
personal expense. Taking the time to either store items in a secure location such as a locker or
independent room that is secured and solely accessed by the owner of the stored items. Placing
care of items to trusted members of your unit is also considered safeguarding items of value but
trust should not always be put into everyone with in a unit for storage. In the case of Aldrich Ames

Concession Stand Research Paper
Getting involved with the community may be easier than you think. It can be as easy as going
outside and cleaning around the community or going to a local sports game and help with
concession stands. It may take some thinking outside the box, but being a member of the
community is easier than you may think. Local sports games are going on almost all the time.
With a bunch of fans supporting the team playing. Sooner or later those people are going to get
hungry and want something to snack on. So, they go to the concession stand to get food.
Concession stands can always use helpers. People always want to watch the games their child is
playing in or just there to support. They don t want to sit in a concession stand where you can

Describe Dimmesdale s New Strange Feelings About Himself
Chapter 20В 21 Describe Dimmesdale s new strange feelings about himself and what happened in
the woods. Also, discuss the various people he meets along the way (church elder, elderly widow,
young woman convert, sailor, children, and Mistress Hibbins) and his inner turmoil and desires to
speak ungodly oaths to them. Lastly, describe his encounter with Chillingworth. Dimmesdale
returns to town and can hardly understand the strange change he now sees within himself. He says I
am not the man for whom you take me! I left him yonder in the forest... (178). Along the way
Dimmesdale runs into the church elder and struggles to use his self control and not utter the
horrible matters he finds himself in. When Dimmesdale comes across the elderly... Show more

there awaiting his arrival. Dimmesdale explains to the physician that he no longer has use for
his medicines. Chillingworth fears that Dimmesdale has knowledge of his true identity and is
now aware that he is no longer a trusted friend, but his bitterest enemy (184). Chapter 22 The
procession takes place in the marketplace and is comprised of an array of different instruments.
As the music begins, a body of soldiers marches the market and are then followed by the town
fathers which includes Bradstreet, Endicott, Dudley, and Bellingham. Next in order to the
magistrates came Dimmesdale exhibiting energy and strength. As Dimmesdale walks there was
no feebleness of step, as at other times; his frame was not bent; nor did his hand rest ominously
upon his heart (196). To Hester he seemed so remote from her own sphere, (196) and
unattainable. She feared that a the whole idea of moving to Europe was nothing but a mere
delusion, and that there could be no real bond betwixt the clergyman and herself (197). Looking
at her mother s face, Pearl asks was that the same minister that kissed me by the brook? (197).

Administrative Liability
Office of the Ombudsman v. Uldarico P. Andutan (G.R. No. 164679, 27 July 2011)
The Ombudsman argued in both the present petition and in the petition it filed with the CA that
Andutan s retirement from office does not render moot any administrative case, as long as he is
charged with an offense he committed while in office. It is irrelevant, according to the
Ombudsman, that Andutan had already resigned prior to the filing of the administrative case since
the operative fact that determines its jurisdiction is the commission of an offense while in the
public service.
The Ombudsman relies on Section VI(1) of Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No.
38 for this proposition, viz.:
Section VI.

Reyes Jr. v. Cristi (A.M. No. P 04 1801, 4 April 2004, 427 SCRA 8)
According to the OCA, the respondent s resignation does not render the case moot and academic,
nor deprive the Court of the authority to investigate the charges against him... The Court agrees
with the recommendation of the OCA. Indeed, the fact that the respondent had already resigned
from his position does not render the complaint against him moot and academic.
Office of the Court Administrator v. Juan (A.M. No. P 03 1726, 22 July 2004, 434 SCRA 654, 658)
Under Section 22, Rule IV of the Civil Service Rules, dishonesty and grave misconduct are grave
offenses punishable by dismissal from the service even if it is the first offense. Respondent s
resignation does not render the case moot. Resignation is not a way out to evade administrative
liability when court personnel are facing administrative sanction.
Secretary of Justice v. Marcos (A.M. No. L 207 J, 22 April 1977, 76 SCRA 301) (Quoting Perez
v. Abiera) the cessation from office of a respondent Judge either because of resignation, retirement
or some other similar cause does not per se warrant the dismissal of an administrative complaint
which was filed against him while

The Importance Of Outdoor Recreation On The Environment
INTRODUCTION There is no doubt that planet Earth is ever changing. The emergence of new
species, extinction of extant species, rise and fall of climate, and much more are completely natural
occurrences; however, there is one terrifying force that changes the world much faster than most of
its inhabitants can handle: humans. Ever since humans began to populate the Earth, we have been
exploiting natural resources and depleting populations, thus harming countless communities and
ecosystems. As our populationcontinues to increase, we destroy more and more natural habitats,
negatively impacting biological diversity by decreasing the abundance of individuals per species
(Hunter 2007). Many studies in the past have looked into how overexploitation of resources,
habitat loss due to development, and the release of fossil fuels from production result in the decline
of biodiversity (Goulletquer et al. 2014), but one form of human disturbance is often overlooked:
recreation. The increasing popularity of outdoor recreation can affect wildlife in numerous ways,
usually resulting in the avoidance of disturbed habitat (Coppes et al. 2017).
Many studies have been done observing the impact of human disturbance on flagship species in
popular recreational destinations such as forests and oceans. For instance, one study done in the
Southern Black Forest revealed that red deer avoided areas near hiking trails, preferred to live in
dense, undisturbed areas in the forest, and were more active

Decision Analysis
Introduction: An important decision that I have had to make recently is making the decision of
what college I will be attending after I finish here at Blue River. Deciding on what college to
attend next involves a few things; it involves more than one good option, uncertainty or chance to
the outcomes of each option, and contains balance. Picking a college is a hard decision. Choosing
the right college for someone has several things to think about when deciding where you will
finish school, such as the school being to far or to close to home, does it have the major you want to
study, what s the food like, are you playing a sport while attending school, tuition, along with
several other factors. The things that are most important to me when deciding on the next college
are tuition, soccer team, good financial aid options and if they have the major of sports management.

The Impact Of Social Media On Identity Development
At this current moment, there are 7.5 billion people living on earth and we all still feel the need
to belong. Psychologists say this is a normal feeling everyone gets; teenagers are at the most
vulnerable stage of personal development, which means they are affected more than other ages.
This is because they are still in the stages of developing individualism or a sense of self esteem.
Widespread bullying is becoming a huge problem in schools and it can be traced back to a
common problem social media. Social Media s impact on identity development is a huge issue
concerning adolescents across the nation because of all the pictures or status s people post and the
judgement they face.
The number of hours per day spent on the internet by adolescents is not good for their confidence.
According to pewinternet.org, since 2000 the number of people, ages 18 29, who use the
internet went from 52% 90%. This means almost all the United States are using the internet
daily. In the last year, the rate increased 22%. Social media is one of the fastest growing sources
on the internet right now. Their advertising budget is projected to reach nearly $36 billion
dollars globally this year. No wonder why kids are so involved in it; so much money has been spent
so all they see on ads of social media sites.
The ads create so much buzz for products, ideas, and personas that kids can t seem to get away
from it. Sites like Instagram have ads with these very attractive people and it gives kids the

International Adoption Essay
The necessity of adoption in the world is astounding. Currently, there is an estimated 143 million
orphans worldwide (Wingert, vol.151). As of 2007, there were 513,000 children living in foster
care within the United States alone (Rousseau 21:14). International adoption in the United States
was jumpstarted post World War II as a way of helping those children who were left homeless, after
war had taken their parents. Although there are thousands of healthy children awaiting adoptionin
the United States, several American couples still turn to foreign adoption when seeking potential
children. Americans often fail to realize the need for intervention within their own country and their
duty to take care of domestic affairs before venturing to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children who are pulled out of their normal environment and inserted into different surroundings
face an identity crisis due to the importance of identity in determining who one truly is. In a study,
Trolly, Wallin, and Hansen discovered that fewer than fifty percent of the parents of foreign
children felt that their children were only somewhat aware of their birth culture (Hollingsworth
48:209). These children lack a sense of who they really are and later in life will become confused
on why they differ from their new families. Though it is often a painful topic that parents choose
not to bring up, it is important that children understand their background because it results in a
better quality of life. However, the prevalence of cultural socializations was low amongst Caucasian
families who adopted Asian children (Deater Deckard, Johnston, Petrill, Saltsman, and Swim
56:390). It is made clear that Westerners lack the cultural knowledge necessary to properly educate
their internationally adopted children about the culture the children come from. This can result in a
variety of psychological implications due to the significant effect of identity on the health of people
of color (Deater Deckard, Johnston, Petrill, Saltsman, and Swim 56:390). These implications tend to
be internalized rather than externalized. In the same study, Chinese adoptees displayed the
possibility of behavior such as hyperactivity, aggression,

Corporate Governance in Australia After Hih and Globalisation

Information asymmetry, moral hazard, difference in attitude towards risk and difference in interest
between shareholders versus directors are common agency problems that would usually be at the
expense of shareholders (Mallin, 2007; Rahman, Salim, 2010). For example, directors may have a
wider range of economic and social needs (such as to maximize compensation, security, status and to
boost their own reputation), while shareholders are interested only in maximizing return on
investments. Furthermore, as directors are usually contracted to the company on short term basis,
they may be eager for short run payoffs within their contract term, whereas shareholders interest
would be based on long term success. Australian companies have a unitary board structure and the
regulatory framework for corporate governance and directors duties is governed by (i) Statute
(notably the Corporations Act), (ii) Common law rules (for example, cases relating to directors
duties), (iii) The company s constitution, and (iv) Guidelines issued by the Australian Securities and
Investments Commission (ASIC) (Dibbs Barker Gosling Lawyers, 2003). ASIC plays a vital role in
enforcing and regulating company and financial services laws to protect Australian consumers,
investors and creditors. It acts as Australia s corporate regulator and administers various legislations

Contemporary Criticism InJezebel, Drums Along The Mohawk,...
Contemporary criticism reflects the current audiences that are viewing the subject and their
mindsets. Early movies specifically needed to know their audiences, as the reception they
received could make or break actors, directors, and even entire studios. However, a movie
viewed in modern times can have a completely different effect on the viewer than the original
intended audience. Specifically movies, such as the ones shown here, that are based on
historical events. In the order of the years they were released, Jezebel, Drums Along the
Mohawk, and Unconquered, all focus on romantic relationships, and the different historical
periods they are dropped into. Each of these movies take a drastically different look at their
characters, despite their similar, specific, genre of romantic historical fiction. Each review of
the movies echoes this, with analysis of the characters, historic accuracy, and just overall how
compelling the story is. Firstly, Jezebel, directed by William Wyler, tells the story of Julie
Marsden (Bette Davis), a southern woman who pushes her boundaries during the antebellum
period of Louisiana. Specifically, Julie navigates how much she can stand against the conformity
of her society without loosing the love of her fiancГ© Preston Dillard (Henry Fonda). However,
after loosing her love, the movies second act creates a different version of Julie, as she has now
become a picturesque woman to try and win Pres back. After she learns that he now has a new
wife, she

  • 2. The Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy Two different psychotherapies approaches were implemented in the Gloria videos each video highlighted the respective approach of each psychotherapist. Albert Ellis who established the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Fritz Perls who developed the Gestalt approach. Each therapy section in the video was about 30 minutes where each psychotherapist got the opportunity to explain his theory, interview Gloria and then discuses and explain the his founding. The main different between these two different approaches can be explained by the effect of the interaction between the therapist and Gloria. The Gestalt approach focus on self awareness and the present rather than the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy(REBT), which focus on the cognitive, emotional and behavioral conflicts. When it comes to the theoretical view of human nature presented in the Gestalt approach the problem starts when someone tries to be who he or she are not. According to clinical psychology book writing by Trull, T. J., Prinstein, M. J. (2013). Fritz Perls believes people are able to confront their problems if they become fully aware of what is happening within oneself and outside of oneself. When an individual does not show whom or how they really feeling in the outside it can make it difficult for a change. It is important for the patients to be aware of what and who they are instead of trying to become what they are not. In the Gloria set of videos by Rogers, C. R., Perls, F. S., Ellis, ... • 3. Gun Ownership In Early America Summary In the article Gun Ownership in Early America: A Survey of Manuscript Militia Returns by Robert Churchill, he discusses how gun ownership in the early 18th and 19th centuries was scarce and at times the armed militias were the only people who had guns at all. It was because of this that the government made gun ownership exceptional. This is different from today when gun ownership is everywhere. Due to the high concentration of guns sometimes it is hard to count how many are sold in the United Statesevery year. To learn that guns, at one time, were almost non existent is almost hard to believe. In the article, the author talks about Michael Bellesiles a historian who first wrote on gun ownership in America in 1996. Bellesiles was the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike the 18th and 19th centuries, the government today is much against gun ownership. So much so that they have enacted gun control laws that would take all guns away from American citizens. Though guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands, Americans have the right to bear arms. To take gun ownership away would mean destroying the Constitutional right of every American. Instead of gun control everyone that buys a gun they should undergo an intense back ground check and be required to attend gun ownership classes to learn how to safely use the weapon. In the article it is stated that most guns in the 18th and 19th centuries were owned by younger men and boys. This would suggest that younger men in those centuries were more mature than those of today. Back then people had to fend for themselves because money was not as prevalent as it is today, so owning a gun was more of a necessity. Now when younger people possess a fire arm the outcome is more violent. The damage inflicted by young people with guns in the last decade has been some of the worst America has ever witnessed. The Sandy Hook shooting being the most recent string of school related gun violence. In the 18th and 19th centuries, this type of behavior was never recorded, but the population was sparser and children then did not have violent videogames, TV ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Breakfast Club Analysis Don t Skip Breakfast! The Breakfast Club is a timeless movie centered around the very relevant concept of discovering your identity and breaking away from stereotypes. It is about a group of 5 defiant high school students who are all forced to spend their Saturday in detention. The five main characters include Claire (Molly Ringwald) the princess, Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) the brain, Andrew (Emilio Estevez) the jock, Allison (Ally Sheedy) the weirdo, and John Bender (Judd Nelson) the criminal. These students have very different personalities and very little in common or so they think. The five are stuck together under the oppressive authority of Richard Vernon (Paul Gleason) the Principal, who served as a common enemy for the students. Their sole task for that Saturday was to write an essay describing who they are, a question that remained pondered for the duration of the film as The Breakfast Club is an iconic story of self discovery. WHAT WORKED The Breakfast Club did an excellent job of capturing the strife of students as they try and find themselves through their adolescent years. They have all been cast a different stereotype and at the beginning of the movie it is clear that all of the characters have a fairly decent idea of who they think everyone is. Every viewer can relate to at least one of the various stereotypes, and I think your overall enjoyment of the movie will depend on how easily you can identify with one of the characters. Their stereotypes are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is one of the few sports teams with international appeal to a very broad fan base. This case delves into how Real Madrid transitioned from a good soccer team with a winning history into the global sports juggernaut we know today. We first examined Real Madrids revenue streams and found that from their inception through the 1970s their business model was based almost entirely on their ticket sales. After the 1970s up until 2003 they had some media rights, a small merchandising department, and some other negligible streams of income. The club further evolved to identify 4 brand drivers that Perez stated would nurture and project the Real Madrid brand worldwide. The first was the size of the audience, secondly the frequency in which the audience engaged with the brand, thirdly, the socio demographic characteristics of the audience and lastly, bridges that could be built to link the brand and the audience. Each of these changes reflected the clubs transition to a global brand with marketing capability. Growth opportunities for Real Madrid existed in both new and existing markets. With content seen as the product, opportunities to provide new content to current markets were available through pay tv and new technologies like movies, video games and use of the Real Madrid website. The website could also be used to for additional merchandising as well. The Modernism and Art Nouveau movements occurred during what was known in France as the Belle Г‰poque, or beautiful era period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The movement was primarily influenced by the radical work of Czech (Moravian) artist Alfons Mucha, Swiss decorative artist EugГЁne Grasset, and English illustrator Aubrey Beardsley ( The Peacock Skirt ) and the ground breaking architecture and design work of Hector Guimard of Paris and Antoni GaudГ of Barcelona. Sports have always served as a metaphor for life and the triumphs of human performance which are readily displayed by many historical and contemporary competitors are the subject of praise and admiration for millions of people. Thus, professional athletes occupy a surprisingly important position in world culture and their exploits can have wide reaching consequences that extend far beyond their field of competition. The Reason That Chip Wilson Plunged Lululemon Into Crisis Analysis The reason that Chip Wilson plunged Lululemon into crisis again is because of three major issues: lack of media training as a spokesperson, lack of comprehensive crisis management plan in the company, and failure of internal communication. First of all, spokesperson media training is part of crisis preparation. In this case, lacking media training includes training for a TV interview and training for filming a video apology. Prior to Chip Wilson s interview with Bloomberg TV, managers from the PR department should have conducted a comprehensive media training to Wilson. Topics cover from diagnosing company s vulnerabilities, to preparing for difficult questions, to how to utilize chances to re enhance the company s image, and how to risk averse after a major crisis. As Wilson s answer caused another crisis, I assume that he was not ready to answer the questions of sheer pants recall, nor he was ever participated in any media training at all. Erik Bernstein who runs a crisis managementblog noted that some people should never act as spokesperson. In fact, what surprised me was that as a company s founder and chairman of board, it was Chip Wilson s responsibility to have a general knowledge about the crisis and what caused the crisis and what procedures they have taken to solve the crisis. Even though he was never prepared for those questions beforehand, answers such as women s bodies don t fit its pants should have never came up. This crisis could have been ... His military victories, cult of personality, and influence on Roman life brought him respect in Rome. Cicero, an orator of the era, confirmed Cesar s accounts of his role during the civil war. In representing his own role in the Roman Civil War, Julius Caesarsketches a picture of his influence on his contemporaries that rings true when compared to Cicero s documentation of the same period. Though Caesar praises himself while Cicero scorns him, a consistent picture of Caesar s influence emerges from a close reading of the two authors: he instilled fear in the hearts of Roman Senators and inspired loyalty in Roman Citizens. In Caesar s account in The Civil War, he presents the Roman Senators persecuting him as unreasonable and himself as justified, a contrast to Cicero s personal criticisms of the commander. Caesar states that the Senate is punishing him for his moderate demands (pg. 37). Caesar accounts that the Roman Senate refuses to dismantle Pompey s army, in addition, he states that the Roman Senate is using unnecessary measures against him, as he recounts, ...harsh measures were advocated; and the more savage and vindictive the speaker, the more he was applauded by Caesar s enemies (pg.36 40). • 20. Once Upon A Time In The West Essay The opening sequence of Spaghetti Western film, Once Upon a Time in the West (Sergio Leone, 1968), showcases how director, Sergio Leone, utilises the formal properties of the medium of cinema to produce meaning for the audience and foreshadow later events and themes which arise throughout the development of the plot. The filmopens with a single scene of a mysterious, harmonica playing gunman (Charles Bronson), embroiled in a showdown with three men that have been drafted to kill him (Jack Elam, Woody Strode, Al Mulock). The sequence culminates with the gunman binding up his wounded arm and collecting his belongings, abandoning the other three men dead by a railway line. Instead of adopting a range of angles and cuts to portray this sequence, Leone favours a single mid shot that lasts twenty seven seconds. This protracted sequence builds the sense of enigma surrounding the Harmonica who is this man and what will he do next? • 21. Carlos Museum Experience After Visiting the Carlos Museum, it became evident to me that the ethics of displaying human remains is more nuanced than I had originally realized. Some cultures, such as the ancient Egyptians, are thought to have striven to be eternalized through mummification, and therefore would have wanted to be put on display. On the other hand, some cultures, like Native Americans, can explicitly tells us that they do not want their remains to be put on display. Furthermore, I learned from this experience that a corpse s treatment right after its deathis often an indicator for how a person was viewed in life. The curators and conservers at the Carlos Museum take into account the culture from which remains come, whether a body is in a state that is dignified, and if it is necessary in the first place to display the body. For example, one Old Kingdom mummy (the only one in the Western Hemisphere) was collected by William ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His treatment in death reveals how he was viewed by his enemies at least, but may give an idea of how his kingdom viewed him as well. The experience at the Carlos Museum brought to my attention the great detail that goes into not only the preparation, restoration, and conservation of corpses, but also what thought goes into the decision to display a corpse or not. • 32. Myth Gender Based Wage Gap Myth Gender Based Wage Gap Raaga Agraharam Soc 101 Introduction: On January 29, 2016, The White House Press Office released a FACT SHEET on new steps to advance equal pay for women. This FACT SHEET states that, the median wage of a woman working full time all year in the United States is about $39,600 only 79 percent of a man s median earnings of $50,400 (The White House, 2016). However, many scholars and economists disagree that a gender wage gap exists. In addition, conservative political experts and bloggers promote the notion that gender based wage gap is an idea propagated by feminists, women empowering organizations, and progressives. However, almost all the working women in the United States, and organizations such as Institute for Women s Policy Research (IRWP), and American Association of University Women (AAAU), strongly believe in the existence of the gender wage gap. This sociological issue of equal pay for women is extremely relevant in today s environment where women perform equal work as men in many occupations. Furthermore, with almost 50% of the work force being women, women contributing equally to the family income, and a large number of women being the single parents supporting children, lack of equal pay over time could increase the poverty rates for women (White House, 2016). • 38. The Responsibility Of Organizational Effectiveness Leadership Style The responsibility of organizational effectiveness is in the hands of the institution s leaders. Leaders develop business strategies to maintain relevance or launch the business into the next generation or category. An important factor of strategic success is how managers and supervisors lead followers in a new direction. The foundation of the relationship will determine if the employees will give total commitment to the organization s strategy or do the minimal tasking. Organizational Effectiveness Organizations are continually evolving to meet the requests of the stakeholders, customers, and the environment. Strategic renewal is revamping an organization s business model, target audience, or products or services to meet the demands put on the leaders (Spector, 2013). Therefore, the success of the company s new strategy is dependent on the leaders capability to support the new internal processes with the external requirements (Spector, 2013). Strategic Leadership Strategic leadership is the capability to incorporate forward thinking ideas and concepts into a business s functions while simultaneously influencing employees to accept the new processes (Malewska Sajdak, 2014). However, the amount of gamma rays produced will be noticeably less than the amount of x rays produced and anything that is sufficient enough to shield from x rays will be more than enough to shield from gamma rays. The only other places radiation can come from are from the top and bottom of the vacuum chamber. Regardless of how much radiation will be coming from the bottom of the chamber it will not affect us because we won t be looking under the chamber or above the chamber most likely when the reactor is running. On top of this both the top of the bottom are being built from aluminum which will stop some radiation. Lastly, a thin sheet of lead, or a some water / dirt can be placed on top or under the container in order to help block the radiation a lot more. Due to the risks that can occur from high radiation levels, a backup plan has been developed in the case of high radiation levels. To start, at the start of the project a Geiger Counter will be purchased in order to keep track of all the radiation and determine whether the radiation ever reaches unsafe levels. Should the radiation level be determined to be harmful, the reactor will be surrounded by material in

  • 43. The Rights Of The Global Warming My argument is that those who have taken part in causing global warming, which are the developed countries, should be held responsible by cutting back more than other countries to correct the injustice that they have inflicted on the poorer countries. These nations are infringing on the rights of the victimized nations. Therefore, I would argue that there is an ethical basis for deciding whether some countries should cut back emissions more than others because the situation is not only unfair, but also violates the rights of innocent people. Everyone has a right to life, a right to not be harmed, and more specifically, the right not to have one s life taken directly as a means to further one s end (Finnis). Immanuel Kant thought reason tells us to, Act only on a maxim that you can will to be a universal law (Kant). Under Kantism views, an ethical act is ethical if it can become universal law without undermining some sort of construct. If we say that developed countries can emit greenhouse gases, thus causing harm, without consequence, then it will undermine the principle that the innocent has the right to not be harmed. Therefore, when that right is violated, there is an ethical issue. For example, if a burglar steals, it is only fair that they are reprimanded accordingly by giving back what they stole, plus an additional punishment, to ameliorate the harm that he caused. To extrapolate this example to global warming, the developed nations are stealing from the poor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is irrelevant, according to the Ombudsman, that Andutan had already resigned prior to the filing of the administrative case since the operative fact that determines its jurisdiction is the commission of an offense while in the public service. • 49. The Importance Of Outdoor Recreation On The Environment INTRODUCTION There is no doubt that planet Earth is ever changing. The emergence of new species, extinction of extant species, rise and fall of climate, and much more are completely natural occurrences; however, there is one terrifying force that changes the world much faster than most of its inhabitants can handle: humans. Ever since humans began to populate the Earth, we have been exploiting natural resources and depleting populations, thus harming countless communities and ecosystems. As our populationcontinues to increase, we destroy more and more natural habitats, negatively impacting biological diversity by decreasing the abundance of individuals per species (Hunter 2007). Many studies in the past have looked into how overexploitation of resources, habitat loss due to development, and the release of fossil fuels from production result in the decline of biodiversity (Goulletquer et al. 2014), but one form of human disturbance is often overlooked: recreation. The increasing popularity of outdoor recreation can affect wildlife in numerous ways, usually resulting in the avoidance of disturbed habitat (Coppes et al. 2017). Many studies have been done observing the impact of human disturbance on flagship species in popular recreational destinations such as forests and oceans. For instance, one study done in the Southern Black Forest revealed that red deer avoided areas near hiking trails, preferred to live in dense, undisturbed areas in the forest, and were more active ... Psychologists say this is a normal feeling everyone gets; teenagers are at the most vulnerable stage of personal development, which means they are affected more than other ages. This is because they are still in the stages of developing individualism or a sense of self esteem. Widespread bullying is becoming a huge problem in schools and it can be traced back to a common problem social media. Social Media s impact on identity development is a huge issue concerning adolescents across the nation because of all the pictures or status s people post and the judgement they face. The number of hours per day spent on the internet by adolescents is not good for their confidence. Children who are pulled out of their normal environment and inserted into different surroundings face an identity crisis due to the importance of identity in determining who one truly is. In a study, Trolly, Wallin, and Hansen discovered that fewer than fifty percent of the parents of foreign children felt that their children were only somewhat aware of their birth culture (Hollingsworth 48:209). These children lack a sense of who they really are and later in life will become confused on why they differ from their new families. Though it is often a painful topic that parents choose not to bring up, it is important that children understand their background because it results in a better quality of life. However, the prevalence of cultural socializations was low amongst Caucasian families who adopted Asian children (Deater Deckard, Johnston, Petrill, Saltsman, and Swim 56:390). It is made clear that Westerners lack the cultural knowledge necessary to properly educate their internationally adopted children about the culture the children come from. This can result in a variety of psychological implications due to the significant effect of identity on the health of people of color (Deater Deckard, Johnston, Petrill, Saltsman, and Swim 56:390).
