Goal Setting Interview Paper
The first goal setting interview I had was with one of my students by the name of Skyler. Based off of
my interaction with Skyler these past few days, he is always looking for ways to get better with
academics as well as a become a better scholar. Not to mention, Skyler is a high performing student in
reading and math. When asked, What is something you would like to work on for the school year? , he
responded I would like to do better in math and cooperate. Skyler sometimes gives me a hard time
when it comes to cooperating in class. It is good to see that he also chose a behavior that I have
discussed with him on several occasions. Once his goal was set, I asked about the importance of this
particular goal and how will the goal be reached.

The Canadian Market And The American Market
Although the Canadian market has basically five big players taking over almost 80% of the market
share, it does not mean that the competition is weak. Comparing this information to the American
market, over 20 firms divide the same 80% of the market share. The economy and consumer habits in
both countries are also very different, which causes American companies to struggle when entering the
Canadian Market. Target, the American chain turned back and left Canada after an attempt to take a
portion of the Canadian market. Currently in Canada, due to the economic turndown and weaker
currency, food prices rose signifficantly. Fruit and vegetable prices rose 9% in 2015, while meat prices
rose 5%. Naturally it would be expected to have cut back on spending, or at least a movement towards
switching to lower cost products, but it actually did not happen in Canada. In fact, food prices have
been up in every one of the last six quarters. Meanwhile, Metro s same store sales have outpaced food
inflation over five of those quarters (The Motley Fool Canada, 2016). It means that Metro has been
able to sell more groceries at higher prices in spite of record inflation levels. Loblaw and Metro, two
of the major players of the industry have seen the share prices advancing higher this year, despite a
TSX decline of over 5%. These singularities of the Canadian market might impose a barrier for
international potential entrants, but the game never ends, the Canadian companies must

Q1. NAME AND DESCRIBE THREE AUTHENTICATION METHODS.
Authentication is defined by Essentials Guide as is the process of determining whether someone or
something is, in fact, who or what it is declared to be.
Authentication means verifying the identity of someone (a user, device, or an entity) who wants to
access data, resources, or applications. Validating that identity establishes a trust relationship for
further interactions.
Authentication is the first step in access control, and there are three common methods used for
authentication:

Intrusion detection systems monitor the most vulnerable points or hotspots in a network to detect and
deter unauthorized intruders. These systems often also monitor events as they happen to look for
security attacks in progress. Sometimes they can be programmed to shut down a particularly sensitive
part of a network if it receives unauthorized traffic.
Antivirus software is a computer program that detects, prevents, and takes action to disarm or remove
malicious software programs, such as viruses and worms. These tools are critical for users to have
installed and updated because a computer without anti virus software installed will be infected within
minutes of connecting to the internet. Antivirus software is designed to check computer systems and
drives for the presence of computer viruses and worms and often eliminates the malicious software,
whereas antispyware software combats intrusive and harmful spyware programs. Often the software
can eliminate the virus from the infected area. To be effective, antivirus software must be continually
updated.

Children With Special Educational Needs
ADHD
Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) for instance Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD) can suffer with symptoms such as; being isolated from others, disruptive in everyday
environments such as a classroom, hyperactive as well as often having a short attention span and
easily distracted. (NHS, 2014) states, ADHD can occur in people of any intellectual ability, although it
is more common in people with learning difficulties. People with ADHD may also have additional
problems, such as sleep and anxiety disorders. Having the symptoms of ADHD at a young age, may
perhaps present particular challenges in school, causing teachers to struggle with the problems
children bring to the classroom without any additional help. The Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Code of Practice emphasises the need to identify children s difficulties quickly to ensure action is
taken to meet their needs.
The most common treatment for ADHD is a medication called methylphenidate
(MPH) this can be taken by both adults and children. Methylphenidate is known to enhance the
activity of dopamine and noradrenaline in the nervous system (MURRAY, D. ARNOLD, L.
SWANSON, J. WELLS, K. BURMS, K. JENSEN, P. 2008). MPH does, however, produce side effects
in many patients (ranging from headaches and decreased appetite to blurred vision, slowing of growth,
and psychotic symptoms such as auditory hallucination (ADLER, L. SPENCER, T. MCGOUGH, J.
JIANG, H. MUNIZ, R. 2009)

Character Analysis Of Enron
Enron was an educational production about the infamous business scandal of the American energy
corporation. Enron was originally written by Lucy Prebble, directed by Rodney Lee Rodgers, and
produced by the College of Charleston s Department of Theatre and Dance. An interesting story
enfolds about the tremendous scandal during the 2000 s which led to the inevitable downfall of the
company and leader, Jeffery Skilling. Rodgers emphasized the corruption of money and the plummet
of a once powerful man, Jeffery Skilling, Enron required some level of knowledge about the historical
scandal and the stock market. The audience endured three hours of this business production. With little
knowledge or interest in business and corporations, I personally struggled to connect with the cast and
stay in touch with the plot because of the many distractions dancing about the stage. However, the
acting, set design, and the direction produced a wonderful, informative production.
Primarily, the cast, overall, was hard to connect with on a deeper level. The actress who particularly
stood out from the rest was Hayden Haring as Claudia Roe. She showcased a powerful, intelligent
woman who often stayed in the shadows due to patriarchy. As a female in society today, this character
was the only one I truly felt pity. On the other hand, Skilling;s daughter played by Erin Cooper made
me increasingly uncomfortable. She was overly sexualized to the audience when the character is
supposed to pu ll the

Changing School Grade To Year-Round Education
Researchers have found that home life plays a very important role in how kids learn. Barbara Heyns,
tested students at the end of the year and at the beginning of the next year in order to see if the
summer months caused this achievement gap to widen. She found that gaps in skills grew quickly
during the summer in between, when school was out (Downey and Gibbs 349). Based on this research,
Downey and Gibbs conclude that school actually lessens the gap because students retain more during
the school year than in the summer months where the gap widens. The obvious solution then, is to
change the school year to year round education, however researchers found that students learned about
the same amount in both school rotations (Downey and Gibbs 346 351). ... Show more content on

Can Schooling Contribute to a More Just Society by Michael A. Apple is about how he thinks
education reform should progress. The article begins with a story of a child crying because he must
repeat fourth grade. Apple tells us that the child, Joseph worked hard and improved over the course of
the year, however he failed two classes. Based on the school s rules, Joseph must repeat the year.
Ultimately, holding students like Joseph back make the school look like they are really trying to
educate their students (Apple 353 354). However, he says we do not exist on a level playing field
therefore, policies will likely benefit wealthy people rather than the poor inner city students (Apple
355). Apple claims that the Right conservatives have combined the economic world, the social world
and the political world to gain strength and push their views. Acknowledging how well the Right can
pull people to their cause is something to admire, although Apple thinks we should critically evaluate
their agendas. He ultimately puts out the idea, if the Right can get all these votes why can t the Left

San Francisco Essay
The party composition of San Francisco is democrat. This is also true for the San Francisco Hayward
MSA, the bay area, and the overall number of voters in California. The governor of California, Jerry
Brown, is also a democrat. There are some conservative and republican areas in California such as
much of Northeast California (The New York Times, 2017).
San Francisco has implemented many policies in attempt to improve the city. One of the ways
legislation has done this is by making San Francisco a less wasteful and greener city. In 2012 San
Francisco was nominated the greenest city in the United States. San Francisco is a smart city which

County of San Francisco, 2017). ZeroWaste Signmaker allows San Francisco residents can make their
own compost, recycling, and landfill signs for their home or business (Department of the City and
County of San Francisco, 2017). According to the department of the City and County of San Francisco

The Day Of Last Night
I inspected the autopsy notes carefully. Every single detail was vital to finding the murderer of the
wealthy Sir Simon Senior. Last night at the Whopping Hill Manor, Sir Simon was murdered by one of
his guest or staff at his famous annual business party. On the day of last night, every year, Sir Simon
summoned twelve lucky starting businesses, fed them an extravagant meal, and listened to their
business pitches about each of their products and chose one which he would fund. The lucky winner
walked away with nearly bottomless funds to build the business of their dreams. It was a highly
sophisticated event, but with last night s events in mind, it would probably never happen again. I
flipped to a page with very graphic pictures of where he was found and the part of his skull that was
bashed in with a small, heavy, round object. I shook my head as I remembered questioning a
frightened, scared witness recounting the gruesome scene. She was one of the twelve business
opportunists and was very descriptive, I I was talking to one of the other m men, She paused

Professional Poker Player-Personal Narrative
As I walked into the smoke filled room, a steady mixture of anxiousness and excitement ran through
my body at a vividly momentous pace. It is not every day an 18 year old kid is able to go to the
nearest casino and go play poker. My family was visiting my grandparents in Oklahoma, and as luck
would have it, the legal gambling age in Oklahoma is 18 years. I have been playing poker steadily
throughout the course of my life to this point at small home games and online tournaments, and prior
to this day the only aspirations I had in my body was to become a well known professional poker
player. But nothing would equal the thrill of taking down a monster pot in an actual casino, or so I
thought. About fifteen minutes after signing up for a seat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you ve ever been into poker or even watched the World Series of Poker on ESPN, you ll see what I
mean. Here are just a few observations I ve made...some obvious, some (hopefully) not. Mind games
are a big part of the game. In poker, you can learn all about the strength of hands, pot odds, betting
position, and how to play it by the book. In Street Fighter 4, you can analyze frame data, learn
combos, find rankings/tier listings, and watch replays. But in the end, it comes down to playing the
man. It s about making the other guy fold when he has you beat, or giving him a false sense of
confidence when really, he s walking into certain defeat. It s about giving your opponent the
impression that his strategy is full proof, only to punish him painfully at the most (in)opportune time.
It s all about being unpredictable and rattling the other guy to the point where all his pre game
knowledge seems to go out the window. Heck, Justin Wong almost beat Daigo while playing a
character he admittedly didn t know very well or practice much. I doubt he was thinking about frame
data while he was missing combos, but still giving Daigo all he could handle. The head knowledge
definitely comes in handy, don t get me wrong. I m just saying it s about how you actually use what
you know. Luck is required to make it through. Back in the day before poker got huge which I

Horace s Adversity
Horace states, Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would
have lain dormant, meaning that differences in a person s life, meaning misfortunes as a whole, has the
ability to change a person s personality and character. This can go two separate ways though, it can
make them into a better person, or a worse person. But the overall idea that Horace stated is easy to
agree with.
Some people will use a negative part of their life, and do their best to make it into a way to benefit
their life. For example, a youtube sensation has gone viral for a vlog he made when he went to Japan
and made a joke about a body he discovered in the Suicide Forest. He gained so many followers and

Critical Analysis of The 5th Wave Essay
In a world where a mysterious alien race has besieged Earth survival is the ultimate goal. 95% of the
world s population was not able to achieve this goal; Cassie Sullivan is one of the lucky ones. The
others, as the humans call them, set up five waves to eradicate the human race. Surviving the first
wave wasn t too difficult, it was, after all, just an EMP strike. The second wave really shook the
world, literally. The aliens set the Earth s tectonic plates in motion, causing thousands of off the chart
earthquakes. The tsunamis that spurred from these quakes were detrimental; killing about 50 percent
of the world s overall population. The third wave proved to be the most emotionally devastating. A

While in training at the military s Camp Haven, Ben meets a very young boy named Sammy. Sammy
is the same age as Ben s now dead sister, five years old. He swore to himself that he would not let
anyone hurt Sam, like the others murdered his little sister. No matter what the stakes, Benjamin will
try to help Sam escape the alien compound that is Camp Haven.

Position Paper-Alcoholism
1. Identification of the issue.
Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive and potentially fatal disorder which leads to physical and
psychological harm, and impaired social and vocational functioning. It is characterized by tolerance,
physical dependence and/or pathological organ changes, all of which are the direct/indirect
consequence of the alcohol ingested (Light 5). Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, can be
recognized by four obvious symptoms.
The four symptoms of alcoholism are loss of control, craving, physical dependence, and tolerance.
Loss of control, which is the inability of an individual to limit his or her alcohol consumption, usually
occurs when a person has experienced or entered an emotional segment of his or her ... Show more

Alcoholism has been a major problem in society for a number of years. In fact, alcoholism should be
compared to a virus. This is because a person can never be completely cured from alcoholism; they
can only fight the battle, day to day, hoping not to relapse. When it comes to the etiologies, or causes,
of alcoholism, there seems to be three distinct origins of alcoholism. These causes are genetic factors,
dependency caused by brain chemical imbalances after long term use, and social and emotional
factors.
Genetic factors play a major and very pertinent role in alcoholism. In actuality, genetic factors may
account for half of the total risk for alcoholism. Alcoholism is such a complex disorder that a single
gene is not likely to be the main culprit. However, researchers are investigating a number of inherited
traits that make some individuals more susceptible to alcoholism than others. Some of the examples
are listed below:
• One 2001 study found that the amygdala is smaller in subjects with family histories of alcoholism,
suggesting that inherited differences in brain structure may affect risk. The amygdala is an area of the
brain thought to play a role in the emotional aspects of craving, which can lead to addiction (Asbury
Ketcham 121).
• Because alcohol is not found easily in nature, genetic mechanisms to protect against excessive
consumption may not have evolved in humans as they frequently have for protection against natural

The Symbol Of The Confederate Flag
On September 18, 1863 Confederate soldiers stood proud at the edge of the battle field raising their
Confederate Flag in pride and hope. One hundred and fifty four years later, that flag is now being
demonized from its true meaning by many people. Conflict about this well known flag has been going
on for generations. In Georgia, during the Civil War, the Confederate Flag represented the formation
of the Confederacy and hope for success of the Southern states; now some people have turned the flag
into a symbol of racism, hate, and many more untrue meanings.
The idea of a Confederate Flag started 24 days after the secession of the Confederate States of
America from the United States. These states included South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama,
Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Since they had yet to
make a flag for their new government the Provisional Congress made the Committee on the Flag and

Evaluation Of A Research On Management Education
Thank you for your submission to Journal of Management Education, Criticality in Management
Education: What It Is and What It Is Not (JME 16 0084 ETR). I have completed the evaluation of your
paper by soliciting reviews from three experts, who assessed the potential contribution to management
education research. Based on their assessment and mine, I would like to offer a high risk revise and
resubmit for this manuscript.
As I understand it from my reading and the reviewers comments, the aim of this manuscript is to
provide a systematic review of criticality in the management education domain. Like most instructors
who aspire to foster students criticality/critical thinking skills, I read this manuscript with great
interest for new insights into the literature and for ideas I could use in the classroom. As it currently
stands the document s strength is its aspiration summarized by Reviewer 3 (R3): Your manuscript has
an interesting premise that we use the term critical loosely and management education can benefit
from a critical discussion, more precision, and focus. You present a complicated and important
concept, and attempt to delineate terms and meaning. However, this is more work to be done to
actualize this intent. The manuscript s weaknesses are in four main areas: 1) argumentation, 2)
systematic review methods 3) scope, and 4) implications for practice. Each point is elaborated below
and with suggestions for you to consider during your revision.

Reflection Paper On Drills
When I was assigned as the Assistant Convoy Commander, while deployed in Iraq, my duties were
comprised of giving the mission operations brief before convoys, after action reviews (AAR), teaching
battle drills, rollover drills, vehicle recovery, reaction to Improvised Explosive Device (IED), reaction
to small arms fire, and additional weapon maintenance. (11. BNOCC I and Phase II, and ANOCC, and
5. Drill Sergeant School). In battle drills I taught the proper actions to take in different situations for
battle. Rollover drills class consisted of how to basically protect yourself as the vehicle is rolling. This
drill was practiced until it was second nature and consisted of bracing techniques and how to extract

Class Aa Advisory Research Paper
The new advisory consist of three classes: Class A, Class AA, and Class AAA. Class A is where any
student has a D or an F in any of their classes. Students who have at least a C or better in all of their
classes, but who have missing assignments in one or more classes are placed in a class AA advisory.
Class AAA advisory is where students who have at least a C or better in all of their classes, and no
missing assignments in any of their classes. Many students agree with this new advisory system, but
some also disagree. The new A, AA, and AAA advisory has its advantages and disadvantages. Class A
advisory is any student that has a D or an F in any of their classes. Students in Class A that have a D or
an F in one or more classes and will remain in Class A until the next grade evaluation. Grades are
evaluated 7 times per year; at the midterm and end of each quarter. Students in class A must report to

Students will remain in Class AA until they no longer have missing work. There will be a weekly
check of students in Class AA to check on missing assignments. Students in Class AA are required to
report to their assigned Advisory teacher every day. If the student is not missing any work, they will
be classified as Class AAA for the following week and eligible for Class AAA privileges for that
week. All classrooms and school policies apply to advisory including the cell phone policy. If a class
grade for a Class AA student drops below a C at any time they will have one week to get their grade
back up or they will be placed in Class A until the next grade evaluation. This class advisory allows
more freedom for the student compared to a Class A advisory. Class AA is still monitored, but is not as
strict of an environment as Class A giving the student some freedom, allowing them to have a better
chance of working themselves into class

Summary Of Immigrants And Crime Statistics
This article has brought up the truth when it comes to immigrants and crime statistics. With the
upcoming American elections, the topic of immigrants is widely debated and discussed upon.
Statistics which are given indicate that crime rates for immigrants are increasingly high. This instills
moral panic in communities when there is no reason evident reason to be afraid. The crime statistics of
immigrant crimes are exaggerated and emphasized upon. Crime rates as the article mentioned are low.
Immigrants are not solely responsible for committing crimes. Moral panic occurs since the elections
and Donald Trump is creating fear and hostility towards immigrants. The presentation of crime
statistics is heavily weighed upon. In order to validate a claim, statistics are used. This is what this
article indicates. Mr. Trump is using dated statistics to support his claim of dangerous immigrants.
These accusations can evidently make immigrants feel as if they are targeted by politicians which in
turn, can result in marginalization. The correlation of immigrants and crime rates is a myth. The media
portrays immigrants to be dangerous and responsible for crimes. This is not the case; not all

the Arizona SB1070 would show occurrences of racial profiling. If this bill went through it would

argued that this was not racial profiling and they would use different means to question individuals.
Clearly this was not the case, this bill was meant to allow for racial profiling. This would be
considered a myth for the reason that officers argue that they never racially profile, but this bill would

Minority entrepreneurs have many barriers they have to overcome in order to be successful. Some
typical problems they face are limited access to capital, lower equity investments, and less exposure to
entrepreneurship. Minority entrepreneurs are twice as likely to be turned down for traditional lending,
which can discourage them from even applying for a loan. Not only that but they are less likely to be
considered by traditional or angel investors. They also generally live in run down areas, with poor
schooling and less access to successful people. One entrepreneur who has hurdled over all the barriers
and became extremely successful is Russell Simmons, the co founder of Def Jam Records.

There hasn t been a label whose fortunes have been so intertwined with hip hops fortune. However,
they were not the first label to put out rap and not as many revolutionary artists as one might think. So
why do they have an almost mythical status? Def Jam got its status because Simmons recognized the
worth of hip hop music, and saw how it could expand into a cultural revolution. Def Jam s started in
Rick Ruban s NYU dorm, with each Simmons and Rubin only investing a few thousand dollars each.
Their first official release was LL Cool J s I need a Beat. It sold more than 100,000 copies giving
Simmons the leverage he needed to cut a deal with CBS Records for distribution. This deal was the
first of its kind for hip hop. Simmons secured Def Jams future by making clever decisions that seemed
insane at the time, such as pairing Run D.M.C. with Aerosmith on the cover of Walk This Way. The
video of this duo finally got hip hop onto MTV, which had a negative view on rap at the time. Rubin
left Def Jam in 1988, making Simmons the sole head of the company. Simmons also tried his hand in
producing movies; his company s name is Simmons Lathan Media. His first of which was called
Krush Groove (1985). This was a fiction that was loosely based on Simmons life. It was originally

Essay about The Effects of Negative Weight Perception
How people perceive their weight can have both positive and negative effects. Unfortunately it is more
common to have negative effects. Maria Miller (2014) explains in her article, Rock More Confidence:
Sexy is a state of mind. Allow us to explain., that having a low self image is exceedingly damaging to
oneself. It not only leads to weight gain but can also cause health problems. Others perceptions can
also have a negative effect on an individual s well being.
Perception can have a profound impact on a person s overall state of being. Miller (2014) explains that

are likely to perceive themselves as heavier if they have perceived weight discrimination (p. 92). They
also explain, perceived discrimination poses a threat to health (Schafer Ferraro, 2011, p. 92) and the
sense of being marginalized because of one s weight can actually contribute to steeper health declines
(p. 81). These findings are congruent with what Miller (2013) wrote. Similar to how Miller (2014)
discussed that lowering the self esteem of oneself can affect well being; Schafer and Ferraro (2011)
explain how perceptions other people have of a person s weight can affect that person s health. Miller
(2014) goes on to explain, although it is not verified, how having negative perceptions of other s can
lower one s self esteem and conversely having positive perceptions can raise both parties self esteem.
A facet of well being that is every so often affected by weight is mental health. Frisco, Houle, and

Tense Present Democracy, English, And The Wars Over Usage
Summary of Tense Present Democracy, English, and the Wars over Usage Published in April of 2001
by Harper s Magazine, David Foster Wallace s essay is both a review of A Dictionary of Modern
Usage by Bryan A. Garner and an interjection into the present day Usage Wars. Wallace s thesis for his
essay is stated after a list of grammatical errors that are overlooked on a daily basis and a few
paragraphs defining SNOOT. His thesis states, Issues of tradition vs. egalitarianism in U.S. English

Democratic Spirit. A Democratic Spirit is an attitude a person can have only by being fervent in
his/her beliefs while also recognizing and respecting the beliefs of another. After sorting out what
constitutes a Democratic Spirit and how to maintain such an attitude the author questions who has the
authority to write a dictionary and, thus, determine which words go into the book and which words are
left on the wayside. Wallace praises Garner for his full discloser statement, which acknowledges
Garner s principles and gives background information to his text. Next, in his essay, Wallace notes
Garner s use of Ethical Appeal. The use of ethos, Wallace says, is refreshing because it is hardly ever
used in dictionary. Most dictionaries are political battle ground in a war that is fought between the

Conclusion:
1 Recommendations regarding dealing with minorities
When the word Empire is heard, people tend to think of a hegemonic state with an emperor that
oppresses all those who oppose him. Such an impression is not the result of nothingness, but that of
shallow knowledge of certain empires that prevailed in the pre modern and early modern world.
However, before we get into details about how minorities were dealt with, we have to define our
terms. The first term to be defined is minority ; which according to Richard T. Schaefer means a
subordinate group whose members have significantly less control or power over their lives than
members of a dominant or majority group.
There are certain characteristics for minority groups. The first is that they have a distinguishing
physical or cultural trait. Such a case is manifested regarding the Hijab in France, or the use of
Kurdish language by Lebanese Kurds. The second is being treated unequally, and having less control
over one s life, as was the case with Africans in South Africa. The third characteristic is having
involuntary membership, with no personal choice being employed in the process. That characteristic is
to be observed with African Americans born to slave parents. A fifth and highly important

Gold Nanorods Essay
In the ever advancing field of nanotechnology and materials science there has been a buzz in the air in
recent years over Gold Nanorods (GNRs). Their unique structure and ease of synthesis provides a
range of optical properties that can be readily manipulated. These properties can be utilised in various
applications such as surface functionalisation, photothermal therapy to manage tumours and cancer
cells. In this review, we will look at the current research that analyses the toxicity of GNRs and what
effects the surface chemistry and synthesis have on this. We will also discuss what effect the size and
shape of GNRs have on biological systems, reinforcing why they are making such a statement in the
world of science.

Gold nanorod (GNR) synthesis requires the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) [7],
this process produces a high yield of GNRs with surface plasmon resonances in the infra red as well as
visible light range. CTAB is the agent that drives anisotropic growth as well as provides the
stabilization needed to form the bilayers on the GNRs [8]. Quite a significant amount of CTAB is used
in this synthesis and after the synthesis there is still an amount of CTAB remaining on the surface of
the GNRs [9]. The excess CTAB on the surface has both a lack of stability in biological systems and
presents a significant amount of cytotoxicity [3, 10, 11]. In the literature it has presented that GNR
solutions that are CTAB capped at a certain concentration present a substantial amount of cytotoxicity
at around 70% loss of cell viability [10]. In this paper published by Wiley, with over 600 citations was
an extraordinary paper. It was well constructed and no faults could be found with it. With that amount
of citations, it has clearly influenced the further investigation of the cytotoxicity of GNRs. Now we
have identified that CTAB is the problem, how have researchers attempted to solve it? You re probably
thinking, remove the CTAB, which is a very reasonable suggestion. Removing the CTAB from the
surface of the GNRs and replacing them with other viable biomolecules is not a simple process. By
removing the CTAB from the surface of the GNRs the first issue

What Is D Artagnan Flawed
The character D Artagnan was flawed. In the beginning, the movie portrayed D Artagnan as a great
swordsman and can defend himself if needed; he was even going to fight all of the musketeers! The
problem is that D Artagnan got himself knocked out or kidnapped quite a few times. I understand that
he is new to this musketeer life, but to be worthy of the position he should have been less reckless and
more skillful in his fighting. Another thing is when D Artagnan and Athos got into a rough situation,
he left Athos. The Musketeers motto is, all for one and one for all, after all. Athos was proving that he
is a musketeer for a reason, and he threatened D Artagnan to leave. Athos was risking his life for the
safety of the King and Queen, and the people of France; that is what a musketeer should be doing. ...

Importance Of Being A Minister Of Christ Essay
Why does Richard Baxter emphasis the importance of being a minister of Christ?
If there is anything that is to be the characteristic of the reformed pastor it is that his mind and life
must bear the image of the servanthood of Christ. Following after Christ words, I have come not to be
served but to serve others and to give my life as a ransom for many .This is why in his book, The
Reformed Pastor, Baxter is eagerly encouraging those in ministry to know their called identity as
under shepherds of the Great Shepherd; and therefore following the model of Jesus Christ earthly
ministry as their personal template for shepherding the Lord s flock.
He does this by first expounding on the meaning behind the title of his work. It is not for those of the
reformed or Calvin doctrine, but for all those in ministry to continually be reforming the character of
their lives. This does not mean the reforming that is called to take place is solely found in the
reshaping of the mind through the doctrines of grace, though important. But it is a wholistic reviving
of their life; touching every aspect of it and coating it in the the doctrines of grace; so that, to mirror
and live as Christ lived, to be in His likeness. So the reforming of the Pastor is not just for a micro and
personal wholistic change but also for the people of God, causing it to become a macro restyling and
clothing in the doctrines of God. He is called to do this by modeling the transforming power of the

Inquiry is an interactive way of learning. Students are actively engaged in their studies. Inquiry
involves student centered activities focusing on questioning, exploring, and posing explanations. The
goal of inquiry is to introduce a new way of learning where students can learn about the world around
them through active engagement in real life examples. Inquiry based learning can be incorporated into
all academic subjects throughout the curriculum. Science could possibly be the most effective subject
to incorporate inquiry. In Science, teachers serve as the facilitator of learning, guiding them through
the inquiry process. Teachers must ask open ended questions, allow time for the students to answer,

Self Control And Its Effect On Society
According to BrainyQuote, Buddha once said, To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one s
family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one s own mind. If a man can control
his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.
Self control is the restraint from oneself and actions, particularly in one s desires and emotions. It
separates us, humans, from ancient ancestors as well as the rest of the animal kingdom. When one has
the chance to enact poorly and cause harm to others, self control is the essential aspect one must learn
to withdraw from these activities. Commonly, being able to control one s actions provides the
difference between life and death. To many people in today s society, emotions that arise from
sensitive situations may result in the use of violence in order to receive closure. Guns, for example,
are deadly weapons used to accomplish these acts, and when people fail to yield the use of guns,
problems arise. Gun control is a well disputed argument regarding the regulations enacted upon the
withdrawal from guns.
History of Gun Control and the Origins of the Problem Gun control involves laws and policies that
regulate the ownership and use of guns in order to reduce crime. These regulations control the
manufacture, sale, possession, transfer, and use of firearms in the interest of controlling violence. One
key term to become familiarized with firearms is an assault weapon.

In hopes of the devil not being able to disrupt or hear our prayers.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is when the Holy Spirit blesses someone with his presence after they
have been saved. It is a very emotional experience in which the person feels the presence of the Holy
Spirit. A biblical evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is in second chapter of Acts where the
disciples were sitting together in the upper room and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they
began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Speaking in tongues is one of the things
that happens when the Holy Spirit has baptizes us; it shows the presence of God is with the person.
Speaking in tongues is not a necessary sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in my opinion, although
it did happened to the disciples when they got baptized with the Holy Spirit. The gift of speaking in
tongues does not really mean that the Holy Spirit baptizes one. It truly is one of the gifts that the Holy
Spirit gives, but it is not the only gift that appears once someone has been baptized.
I believe that the speaking in tongues is valid still today because the bible speaks on it and doesn t
state that we shouldn t speak in tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:5 states, I wish you all spoke with tongues,
but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than who speaks with tongues...

The Reflection Of The Lesson Of Engineering Concepts
1. What was the focus of the lesson?
The focus of this lesson was the STEAM skill, engineering. This lesson of engineering phrases was
taught to a group of eighteen kindergarten students at Bartlett Elementary on November 16, 2017. The
entirety of this lesson lasted roughly forty five minutes.
2. How did the teacher introduce the lesson? Did the teacher specifically let the students know what
they would know or be able to do by the end of the lesson?
When introducing the lesson, the teacher Mrs. Taylor, started off by having the students recount what
they had done in the previous class (which was one week before this lesson). Mrs. Taylor called on
students who told her that last week they read the story, The Three Little Pigs, and that they built
homes for their own pigs. Another student brought up the fact that they each worked as a team, with
the students at their table, to build their homes. Mrs. Taylor then asked the students what where the
three materials provided to build their homes. The students replied that two groups each got one of the
materials which was straw, sticks, or bricks. Mrs. Taylor then passed out a worksheet to the students,
asking them to grab a pencil and to write their names using the dotted lines, and top and bottom lines
located at the top of the page. Then Mrs. Taylor had the students circle which of the materials that
their group used to build their homes. To help the students remember, Mrs. Taylor walked over to a
table and brought each group their houses, so that they would remember. Once the students circled
their material, they then had to draw a picture of their home on the box located in the bottom left of
the worksheet. While students were drawing, Mrs. Taylor walked around and was asking students
about their homes (structures) and if they think they could stand up to the Big Bad Wolf. Once the
majority of the students were done drawing their picture, Mrs. Taylor told the students what they
would be doing next, which was that each group s home would go up against the Big Bad Wolf, which
was just a higher powered electric fan. Before moving over the fan Mrs. Taylor asked the students the
following, Is this your first time building a house? All of the students

Introduction Vivaldi is one of the most well known composer and conductor in the baroque period. A
search about his life time has been conducted in this research paper. Although he was forgotten for a
couple of years, his most famous music piece The Four Seasons is still played to this date. The Four
Seasons will be analyzed by dividing it into its four different sonnets
Vivaldi s Life Antonio Vivaldi was a baroque musician born in Venice to a father that was a violinist.
His father was his only important teacher, and they sometimes played the violin together in church.
Antonio was born into a large family. He had four brothers and four sisters. He was taught to play the
violin at a young age with his father who then took him on a playing tour in Venice. When he was
fifteen, he began studying to become a priest. He became a priest in 1703. Vivaldi was known as the
red priest due to his bright red hair. Kings and princes knew him and he was asked to play for them.
He was a violin teacher, composer, and conductor for most of his life at the music school of Pieta,
when he was 25, an orphanage for girls in Venice. He also wrote for Venetian opera houses. He is best
known for his 450 or more concerti grossi and solo concertos although he has composed operas and
church music. He had a suffered from a medical problem called tightening of the chest, or as we may

The Zika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito borne single stranded RNA virus. It is in the family of
Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus. This virus causes a mild illness similar to dengue. The first case of
ZIKV was identified in Uganda in 1947. Cases of this virus were rare until 2007 when a major

  • 2. Goal Setting Interview Paper The first goal setting interview I had was with one of my students by the name of Skyler. Based off of my interaction with Skyler these past few days, he is always looking for ways to get better with academics as well as a become a better scholar. Not to mention, Skyler is a high performing student in reading and math. When asked, What is something you would like to work on for the school year? , he responded I would like to do better in math and cooperate. Skyler sometimes gives me a hard time when it comes to cooperating in class. It is good to see that he also chose a behavior that I have discussed with him on several occasions. Once his goal was set, I asked about the importance of this particular goal and how will the goal be reached. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Canadian Market And The American Market Although the Canadian market has basically five big players taking over almost 80% of the market share, it does not mean that the competition is weak. Comparing this information to the American market, over 20 firms divide the same 80% of the market share. The economy and consumer habits in both countries are also very different, which causes American companies to struggle when entering the Canadian Market. Target, the American chain turned back and left Canada after an attempt to take a portion of the Canadian market. Currently in Canada, due to the economic turndown and weaker currency, food prices rose signifficantly. Fruit and vegetable prices rose 9% in 2015, while meat prices rose 5%. Naturally it would be expected to have cut back on spending, or at least a movement towards switching to lower cost products, but it actually did not happen in Canada. In fact, food prices have been up in every one of the last six quarters. Meanwhile, Metro s same store sales have outpaced food inflation over five of those quarters (The Motley Fool Canada, 2016). It means that Metro has been able to sell more groceries at higher prices in spite of record inflation levels. Loblaw and Metro, two of the major players of the industry have seen the share prices advancing higher this year, despite a TSX decline of over 5%. These singularities of the Canadian market might impose a barrier for international potential entrants, but the game never ends, the Canadian companies must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Authentication is defined by Essentials Guide as is the process of determining whether someone or something is, in fact, who or what it is declared to be. Authentication means verifying the identity of someone (a user, device, or an entity) who wants to access data, resources, or applications. Validating that identity establishes a trust relationship for further interactions. Authentication is the first step in access control, and there are three common methods used for authentication: What you have method: Examples of this method includes keys, badges, ID, pass cards/smart card, tokens. Intrusion detection systems monitor the most vulnerable points or hotspots in a network to detect and deter unauthorized intruders. These systems often also monitor events as they happen to look for security attacks in progress. Sometimes they can be programmed to shut down a particularly sensitive part of a network if it receives unauthorized traffic. Antivirus software is a computer program that detects, prevents, and takes action to disarm or remove malicious software programs, such as viruses and worms. These tools are critical for users to have installed and updated because a computer without anti virus software installed will be infected within minutes of connecting to the internet. Antivirus software is designed to check computer systems and drives for the presence of computer viruses and worms and often eliminates the malicious software, whereas antispyware software combats intrusive and harmful spyware programs. Often the software can eliminate the virus from the infected area. To be effective, antivirus software must be continually updated. Q3. EXPLAIN HOW ENCRYPTION PROTECTS INFORMATION. Children With Special Educational Needs ADHD Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) for instance Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can suffer with symptoms such as; being isolated from others, disruptive in everyday environments such as a classroom, hyperactive as well as often having a short attention span and easily distracted. (NHS, 2014) states, ADHD can occur in people of any intellectual ability, although it is more common in people with learning difficulties. People with ADHD may also have additional problems, such as sleep and anxiety disorders. Having the symptoms of ADHD at a young age, may perhaps present particular challenges in school, causing teachers to struggle with the problems children bring to the classroom without any additional help. The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice emphasises the need to identify children s difficulties quickly to ensure action is taken to meet their needs. The most common treatment for ADHD is a medication called methylphenidate (MPH) this can be taken by both adults and children. Methylphenidate is known to enhance the activity of dopamine and noradrenaline in the nervous system (MURRAY, D. ARNOLD, L. SWANSON, J. WELLS, K. BURMS, K. JENSEN, P. 2008). MPH does, however, produce side effects in many patients (ranging from headaches and decreased appetite to blurred vision, slowing of growth, and psychotic symptoms such as auditory hallucination (ADLER, L. • 6. Character Analysis Of Enron Enron was an educational production about the infamous business scandal of the American energy corporation. Enron was originally written by Lucy Prebble, directed by Rodney Lee Rodgers, and produced by the College of Charleston s Department of Theatre and Dance. An interesting story enfolds about the tremendous scandal during the 2000 s which led to the inevitable downfall of the company and leader, Jeffery Skilling. Rodgers emphasized the corruption of money and the plummet of a once powerful man, Jeffery Skilling, Enron required some level of knowledge about the historical scandal and the stock market. The audience endured three hours of this business production. With little knowledge or interest in business and corporations, I personally struggled to connect with the cast and stay in touch with the plot because of the many distractions dancing about the stage. However, the acting, set design, and the direction produced a wonderful, informative production. Primarily, the cast, overall, was hard to connect with on a deeper level. The actress who particularly stood out from the rest was Hayden Haring as Claudia Roe. She showcased a powerful, intelligent woman who often stayed in the shadows due to patriarchy. As a female in society today, this character was the only one I truly felt pity. On the other hand, Skilling;s daughter played by Erin Cooper made me increasingly uncomfortable. She was overly sexualized to the audience when the character is supposed to pu ll the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Changing School Grade To Year-Round Education Researchers have found that home life plays a very important role in how kids learn. Barbara Heyns, tested students at the end of the year and at the beginning of the next year in order to see if the summer months caused this achievement gap to widen. She found that gaps in skills grew quickly during the summer in between, when school was out (Downey and Gibbs 349). Based on this research, Downey and Gibbs conclude that school actually lessens the gap because students retain more during the school year than in the summer months where the gap widens. The obvious solution then, is to change the school year to year round education, however researchers found that students learned about the same amount in both school rotations (Downey and Gibbs 346 351). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Can Schooling Contribute to a More Just Society by Michael A. Apple is about how he thinks education reform should progress. The article begins with a story of a child crying because he must repeat fourth grade. Apple tells us that the child, Joseph worked hard and improved over the course of the year, however he failed two classes. Based on the school s rules, Joseph must repeat the year. Ultimately, holding students like Joseph back make the school look like they are really trying to educate their students (Apple 353 354). However, he says we do not exist on a level playing field therefore, policies will likely benefit wealthy people rather than the poor inner city students (Apple 355). Apple claims that the Right conservatives have combined the economic world, the social world and the political world to gain strength and push their views. Acknowledging how well the Right can pull people to their cause is something to admire, although Apple thinks we should critically evaluate their agendas. He ultimately puts out the idea, if the Right can get all these votes why can t the Left (Apple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Day Of Last Night I inspected the autopsy notes carefully. Every single detail was vital to finding the murderer of the wealthy Sir Simon Senior. Last night at the Whopping Hill Manor, Sir Simon was murdered by one of his guest or staff at his famous annual business party. On the day of last night, every year, Sir Simon summoned twelve lucky starting businesses, fed them an extravagant meal, and listened to their business pitches about each of their products and chose one which he would fund. The lucky winner walked away with nearly bottomless funds to build the business of their dreams. It was a highly sophisticated event, but with last night s events in mind, it would probably never happen again. I flipped to a page with very graphic pictures of where he was found and the part of his skull that was bashed in with a small, heavy, round object. I shook my head as I remembered questioning a frightened, scared witness recounting the gruesome scene. She was one of the twelve business opportunists and was very descriptive, I I was talking to one of the other m men, She paused sputtering and crying so much I began to feel anxious, th then the l lights went out and J J J Sht and com m motion and J J Just DEAD! • 10. Professional Poker Player-Personal Narrative As I walked into the smoke filled room, a steady mixture of anxiousness and excitement ran through my body at a vividly momentous pace. It is not every day an 18 year old kid is able to go to the nearest casino and go play poker. My family was visiting my grandparents in Oklahoma, and as luck would have it, the legal gambling age in Oklahoma is 18 years. I have been playing poker steadily throughout the course of my life to this point at small home games and online tournaments, and prior to this day the only aspirations I had in my body was to become a well known professional poker player. But nothing would equal the thrill of taking down a monster pot in an actual casino, or so I thought. About fifteen minutes after signing up for a seat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you ve ever been into poker or even watched the World Series of Poker on ESPN, you ll see what I mean. Here are just a few observations I ve made...some obvious, some (hopefully) not. Mind games are a big part of the game. In poker, you can learn all about the strength of hands, pot odds, betting position, and how to play it by the book. In Street Fighter 4, you can analyze frame data, learn combos, find rankings/tier listings, and watch replays. But in the end, it comes down to playing the man. It s about making the other guy fold when he has you beat, or giving him a false sense of confidence when really, he s walking into certain defeat. It s about giving your opponent the impression that his strategy is full proof, only to punish him painfully at the most (in)opportune time. It s all about being unpredictable and rattling the other guy to the point where all his pre game knowledge seems to go out the window. Heck, Justin Wong almost beat Daigo while playing a character he admittedly didn t know very well or practice much. I doubt he was thinking about frame data while he was missing combos, but still giving Daigo all he could handle. The head knowledge definitely comes in handy, don t get me wrong. I m just saying it s about how you actually use what you know. Luck is required to make it through. Back in the day before poker got huge which I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Horace s Adversity Horace states, Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant, meaning that differences in a person s life, meaning misfortunes as a whole, has the ability to change a person s personality and character. This can go two separate ways though, it can make them into a better person, or a worse person. But the overall idea that Horace stated is easy to agree with. Some people will use a negative part of their life, and do their best to make it into a way to benefit their life. Critical Analysis of The 5th Wave Essay In a world where a mysterious alien race has besieged Earth survival is the ultimate goal. 95% of the world s population was not able to achieve this goal; Cassie Sullivan is one of the lucky ones. The others, as the humans call them, set up five waves to eradicate the human race. Surviving the first wave wasn t too difficult, it was, after all, just an EMP strike. The second wave really shook the world, literally. The aliens set the Earth s tectonic plates in motion, causing thousands of off the chart earthquakes. The tsunamis that spurred from these quakes were detrimental; killing about 50 percent of the world s overall population. The third wave proved to be the most emotionally devastating. • 17. Position Paper-Alcoholism 1. Identification of the issue. Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive and potentially fatal disorder which leads to physical and psychological harm, and impaired social and vocational functioning. It is characterized by tolerance, physical dependence and/or pathological organ changes, all of which are the direct/indirect consequence of the alcohol ingested (Light 5). Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, can be recognized by four obvious symptoms. The four symptoms of alcoholism are loss of control, craving, physical dependence, and tolerance. Loss of control, which is the inability of an individual to limit his or her alcohol consumption, usually occurs when a person has experienced or entered an emotional segment of his or her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alcoholism has been a major problem in society for a number of years. In fact, alcoholism should be compared to a virus. This is because a person can never be completely cured from alcoholism; they can only fight the battle, day to day, hoping not to relapse. When it comes to the etiologies, or causes, of alcoholism, there seems to be three distinct origins of alcoholism. These causes are genetic factors, dependency caused by brain chemical imbalances after long term use, and social and emotional factors. Genetic factors play a major and very pertinent role in alcoholism. In actuality, genetic factors may account for half of the total risk for alcoholism. Alcoholism is such a complex disorder that a single gene is not likely to be the main culprit. However, researchers are investigating a number of inherited traits that make some individuals more susceptible to alcoholism than others. Some of the examples are listed below: • One 2001 study found that the amygdala is smaller in subjects with family histories of alcoholism, suggesting that inherited differences in brain structure may affect risk. The amygdala is an area of the brain thought to play a role in the emotional aspects of craving, which can lead to addiction (Asbury Ketcham 121). • Because alcohol is not found easily in nature, genetic mechanisms to protect against excessive consumption may not have evolved in humans as they frequently have for protection against natural ... One hundred and fifty four years later, that flag is now being demonized from its true meaning by many people. Conflict about this well known flag has been going on for generations. In Georgia, during the Civil War, the Confederate Flag represented the formation of the Confederacy and hope for success of the Southern states; now some people have turned the flag into a symbol of racism, hate, and many more untrue meanings. Wallace s thesis for his essay is stated after a list of grammatical errors that are overlooked on a daily basis and a few paragraphs defining SNOOT. His thesis states, Issues of tradition vs. egalitarianism in U.S. English are at root political issues and can be effectively addressed only in what this article hereby terms a Democratic Spirit. A Democratic Spirit is an attitude a person can have only by being fervent in his/her beliefs while also recognizing and respecting the beliefs of another. After sorting out what constitutes a Democratic Spirit and how to maintain such an attitude the author questions who has the authority to write a dictionary and, thus, determine which words go into the book and which words are left on the wayside. Wallace praises Garner for his full discloser statement, which acknowledges Garner s principles and gives background information to his text. Next, in his essay, Wallace notes Garner s use of Ethical Appeal. The use of ethos, Wallace says, is refreshing because it is hardly ever used in dictionary. Such an impression is not the result of nothingness, but that of shallow knowledge of certain empires that prevailed in the pre modern and early modern world. Schaefer means a subordinate group whose members have significantly less control or power over their lives than members of a dominant or majority group. There are certain characteristics for minority groups. The first is that they have a distinguishing physical or cultural trait. Such a case is manifested regarding the Hijab in France, or the use of Kurdish language by Lebanese Kurds. The second is being treated unequally, and having less control over one s life, as was the case with Africans in South Africa. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gold nanorod (GNR) synthesis requires the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) [7], this process produces a high yield of GNRs with surface plasmon resonances in the infra red as well as visible light range. CTAB is the agent that drives anisotropic growth as well as provides the stabilization needed to form the bilayers on the GNRs [8]. Quite a significant amount of CTAB is used in this synthesis and after the synthesis there is still an amount of CTAB remaining on the surface of the GNRs [9]. The excess CTAB on the surface has both a lack of stability in biological systems and presents a significant amount of cytotoxicity [3, 10, 11]. In the literature it has presented that GNR solutions that are CTAB capped at a certain concentration present a substantial amount of cytotoxicity at around 70% loss of cell viability [10]. In this paper published by Wiley, with over 600 citations was an extraordinary paper. It was well constructed and no faults could be found with it. With that amount of citations, it has clearly influenced the further investigation of the cytotoxicity of GNRs. Now we have identified that CTAB is the problem, how have researchers attempted to solve it? You re probably thinking, remove the CTAB, which is a very reasonable suggestion. If there is anything that is to be the characteristic of the reformed pastor it is that his mind and life must bear the image of the servanthood of Christ. Following after Christ words, I have come not to be served but to serve others and to give my life as a ransom for many .This is why in his book, The Reformed Pastor, Baxter is eagerly encouraging those in ministry to know their called identity as under shepherds of the Great Shepherd; and therefore following the model of Jesus Christ earthly ministry as their personal template for shepherding the Lord s flock. He does this by first expounding on the meaning behind the title of his work. It is not for those of the reformed or Calvin doctrine, but for all those in ministry to continually be reforming the character of their lives. This does not mean the reforming that is called to take place is solely found in the reshaping of the mind through the doctrines of grace, though important. But it is a wholistic reviving of their life; touching every aspect of it and coating it in the the doctrines of grace; so that, to mirror and live as Christ lived, to be in His likeness. Self Control And Its Effect On Society According to BrainyQuote, Buddha once said, To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him. Self control is the restraint from oneself and actions, particularly in one s desires and emotions. It separates us, humans, from ancient ancestors as well as the rest of the animal kingdom. When one has the chance to enact poorly and cause harm to others, self control is the essential aspect one must learn to withdraw from these activities. Short Essay THEO 201 C05 Priscilla Ohene Liberty University October 23th, 2014 Short Essay The most controversial and discussed subject in the Holy Bible would be the subject of spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are gifts of God enabling the Christians to perform his or her...services in church (Elwell, 2001, pg.1135). Spiritual gifts are given by God to help complete His work here on earth and also glorify His name. When we are chosen to by God to receive these spiritual gifts, He expects us to use those gifts in fulfilling His commission, building up the churches, and giving back to Him. That gifts are given for the common good, that the church may receive edification (1 Corinthians 14:5, New King James Version) Town defines a spiritual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In hopes of the devil not being able to disrupt or hear our prayers. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is when the Holy Spirit blesses someone with his presence after they have been saved. It is a very emotional experience in which the person feels the presence of the Holy Spirit. A biblical evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is in second chapter of Acts where the disciples were sitting together in the upper room and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Speaking in tongues is one of the things that happens when the Holy Spirit has baptizes us; it shows the presence of God is with the person. Speaking in tongues is not a necessary sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in my opinion, although it did happened to the disciples when they got baptized with the Holy Spirit. The gift of speaking in tongues does not really mean that the Holy Spirit baptizes one. It truly is one of the gifts that the Holy Spirit gives, but it is not the only gift that appears once someone has been baptized. I believe that the speaking in tongues is valid still today because the bible speaks on it and doesn t state that we shouldn t speak in tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:5 states, I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than who speaks with tongues... • 37. The Reflection Of The Lesson Of Engineering Concepts 1. What was the focus of the lesson? The focus of this lesson was the STEAM skill, engineering. This lesson of engineering phrases was taught to a group of eighteen kindergarten students at Bartlett Elementary on November 16, 2017. The entirety of this lesson lasted roughly forty five minutes. 2. How did the teacher introduce the lesson? Did the teacher specifically let the students know what they would know or be able to do by the end of the lesson? When introducing the lesson, the teacher Mrs. Taylor, started off by having the students recount what they had done in the previous class (which was one week before this lesson). Mrs. Taylor called on students who told her that last week they read the story, The Three Little Pigs, and that they built homes for their own pigs. Another student brought up the fact that they each worked as a team, with the students at their table, to build their homes. Mrs. Taylor then asked the students what where the three materials provided to build their homes. The students replied that two groups each got one of the materials which was straw, sticks, or bricks. Mrs. Taylor then passed out a worksheet to the students, asking them to grab a pencil and to write their names using the dotted lines, and top and bottom lines located at the top of the page. Then Mrs. Taylor had the students circle which of the materials that their group used to build their homes. To help the students remember, Mrs. Taylor walked over to a table and brought each group their houses, so that they would remember. Once the students circled their material, they then had to draw a picture of their home on the box located in the bottom left of the worksheet. While students were drawing, Mrs. Taylor walked around and was asking students about their homes (structures) and if they think they could stand up to the Big Bad Wolf. Once the majority of the students were done drawing their picture, Mrs. Taylor told the students what they would be doing next, which was that each group s home would go up against the Big Bad Wolf, which was just a higher powered electric fan. Before moving over the fan Mrs. Taylor asked the students the following, Is this your first time building a house? All of the students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. A Brief Biography of Antonio Vivaldi Introduction Vivaldi is one of the most well known composer and conductor in the baroque period. A search about his life time has been conducted in this research paper. Although he was forgotten for a couple of years, his most famous music piece The Four Seasons is still played to this date. The Four Seasons will be analyzed by dividing it into its four different sonnets Vivaldi s Life Antonio Vivaldi was a baroque musician born in Venice to a father that was a violinist. His father was his only important teacher, and they sometimes played the violin together in church. Antonio was born into a large family. He had four brothers and four sisters. He was taught to play the violin at a young age with his father who then took him on a playing tour in Venice. When he was fifteen, he began studying to become a priest. He became a priest in 1703. Vivaldi was known as the red priest due to his bright red hair. Kings and princes knew him and he was asked to play for them. He was a violin teacher, composer, and conductor for most of his life at the music school of Pieta, when he was 25, an orphanage for girls in Venice. He also wrote for Venetian opera houses. He is best known for his 450 or more concerti grossi and solo concertos although he has composed operas and church music. He had a suffered from a medical problem called tightening of the chest, or as we may know it the asthma. However, his sickness did not prevent him from pursuing his passion in music. • 39. The Zika Virus The Zika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito borne single stranded RNA virus. It is in the family of Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus. This virus causes a mild illness similar to dengue. The first case of ZIKV was identified in Uganda in 1947. Cases of this virus were rare until 2007 when a major epidemic happened in Yap Island, Micronesia. Now, epidemics have happened in Polynesia, Easter Island, the Cook Islands, Brazil, and New Caledonia (Ioos et al., 2014). During the first week of infection, the virus is in the blood and can be passed from an infected person to a mosquito. An infected mosquito can then spread the virus to other people. • 40. Unknown Organic Compounds Lab Report Identification of Unknown Organic Compounds by Melting Point, Boiling Point, Infrared and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Background and Method In the previous labs we were experimenting with different methods so that we can find different physical properties of the known compound. However, this lab report is a little different as it gives us two unknown compounds where we have to use the prior knowledge we have gotten in the other labs to ensure that we know exactly how to ultimately find the correct molecular structure of the unknown compounds. Therefore in this lab, we had to perform elemental analysis, boiling point, infrared (IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopies (NMR) and melting point. Thus, the main objective of this lab was to ensure that the students knew how apply the techniques from the previous labs and interpret the spectroscopy data to formulate the correct structure of the compound. We were assigned G and H. G was the solid and H was the liquid unknown compound. That being said the first step was the elemental analysis. Thus, the very first step was the identification of the ... The theory for the melting point is that it helps with the indication of how pure a substance is, also it helps in figuring out the melting point of the purer substances, sharper melting points belong to more pure substances (Online Labs). Also melting points can be affected by the size of the molecule and intermolecular forces (Online Labs). Melting point was measured using the melting point apparatus. That being said it is very important to ensure that there is minimal impurities or the apparatus is not overly heated, this will lead to inaccurate data as it will give the wrong readings (Landrie, 193). The best way to ensure that the most accurate measurement is gotten to cool the apparatus to 10 15 degree Celsius then taking the measured when it is heated to 1 2 degrees Celsius (Landrie, ...
