It s a sad occurrence, but these types of misfortunes (stumbling) don t happen unless you are in
the wrong surroundings. Avoid those surroundings! Sometimes wisdom comes by observing
people. If you are observant of people s behavior you ll notice that there are three types of people
in this world: the Predators, the Prey and the Perceptive. Let s take a look at the definitions for
each of these words Predators are people who plunders or destroys; a, group, that steals from
others or destroys others for gain. Prey is someone who is helpless or unable to resist attack; a
victim. The Perceptive are people who are quick to understand, showing sharp, keen insight (and

The Chrysanthemums And The Story Of An Hour Analysis
The Chrysanthemums vs The Story of an Hour
John Steinbeck s short story, The Chrysanthemums, and Kate Chopin s , The Story of an Hour,
both exhibit a main theme of female isolationism due to being treated as a possession in marriage,
as well as the forbidden desires in life that were seized from both female protagonists. Beginning
with the opening sentence, Steinbeck conveys a somber tone through the description of the setting
hanging above the farm in The Chrysanthemums. The high grey flannel fog of winter closed off the
Salinas Valley from the skyand from all the rest of the world (Steinbeck, John uhhhh boneless
pizza). As the female protagonist in a historically accurate story in the late 1930s, Elisa is
condemned to living in a sort of confinement from the outside world, seeing as her husband would
do all of the business on the farm. She has something in common with the Salinas Valley, as she too
is closed off from the sky and from all the rest of the world under the cloak of her married name.
Accompanying the isolation from the outside world is a dismal depression, which can be
transcribed as a high grey flannel fog or an overcast sky to mimic the solemn feeling. Elisa s
attempt to stave off this depression of not being able to live her best life can be noticed as she
gives her utmost attention to her flowers. Equally brilliant to set the tone right off the bat, Chopin
uses a literary technique known as Chekhov s gun and includes a detail that the readers

Why is advanced training necessary to Nurse Anesthetists provide specialized care? Nurse

CRNAs carry a heavy load of responsibility and are compensated accordingly. The reported average
annual salary in 2012 was approximately $157,000 with more experienced CRNAs earning up to
$214,000 each year.
The prospects for finding a good job in this field are excellent for the foreseeable future: According
to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there is a significant and growing need for
CRNAs across the country.
In order to be accepted into an accredited nurse anesthesia program, you must be a currently
licensed RN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other appropriate baccalaureate
degree and at least one year of experience in an acute care setting. Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist (CRNA) programs, which lead to a master s or doctoral degree, take two to three years
and include clinical training in university based or large community hospitals. Following
graduation, you must pass the national certification exam before you can begin practice. However,
certification is not a one time accomplishment: In order to maintain their certification standing,
CRNAs must obtain a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
Generally, the path to becoming a CRNA begins with a 4 year undergraduate degree in nursing or
another field. Although it is not required to possess a degree in nursing, a current license as a

meant that many farms and agricultural industries could not afford the chemicals required so

Global Warming And The Greenhouse Gases
Many people know that global warming is an issue in today s world because news media and
politicians always talk about global warming and the greenhouse gasses. It seems like an issue
that is not going to go away, and it is going to stick around for some time. As early as in 2006, Al
Gore, the former vice president of the United States, said that the burning of the fossil fuels was
one of the reasons that increased the amount of carbon dioxide, and he said that if carbon dioxide
could melt the polar caps and raise sea levels if it was left uncontrolled (Vardiman 1). However,
there are also those who do not believe in global warmingand thinks that it is a myth. For example,
the fourth IPCC assessment report found that the rise in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
while the temperature variations or anomalies have also been rising since 1860 with observation
values higher than model values (Houghton 3). The significance of this is that carbon dioxide,
temperature fluctuations, and actual sea level temperature have all been rising, and they have a
direct relationship. It shows that this is not a co incidence. A prediction indicates that if this
same trend continues, carbon dioxide will reach to 650 ppm in the year 2100 (Houghton 4).
Even with the best care and reduction in carbon dioxide output, the level will still get to 450
ppm in the year 2100. The temperature will rise about 10 degrees Celsius higher if we just let
carbon dioxide get to 650 ppm in the year 2100 (Houghton 4). Aside from the increase in
greenhouse gasses and the temperature, Dr.Vardiman states that if global warming is occurring
then hurricane frequency should be on the rise, and polar sea ice should be melting (Vardiman 2).
In this aspect, the data shows that the hurricane frequency has increased 3% in the past 150 years
in the Gulf of Alaska, and the Arctic ice has melted 5% in the past 25 years. These datasets from
greenhouse gasses, temperature, hurricanes, and ice melts show that the globe is warming which

Symbols In The Bull Moose By Alden Nowlan
In the poem The Bull Moose by Alden Nowlan, he accurately portrays how out of touch man has
become from nature. The speaker is an observer who is watching the neighborhood interact with the
bull moose. At first, the townspeople stand around and stare at the moose and wonder where he
came from. They believe that the moose is docile, so they begin to treat him like an old, tolerant
collie but at the end, they are reminded of his incredible power. Throughout the poem, the speaker
maintains a sympathetic tone toward the moose as they watch the group torment him. Through the
speaker and powerful imagery, the theme is revealed. The author uses symbols to help the reader

Essay about Rap and Moral Character
Rap and Moral Character In the article Rap and Moral Character by Wesley Cragg and Christine
Koggel, the subject of concern is the consequences of listening to rap music and the effects on
moral behaviour. The author suggests that rap and moral character are linked and that due to the
natural context of rap, it promotes violence, crass materialism, crime, and is misogynistic and
therefore corrupts a person s moral character. Based on their claims, the authors take the position
that rap should be censured morally. In this paper, I will examine the authors claims, their
reasoning, and their use of concepts. By doing so, I will be able to demonstrate that their thesis

This claim may seem to be fine if it stood by itself. However, in this context, the author is saying
that everyone who listens to rap is bad, corrupt, and engages in criminal activities. In other words,
the authors are saying that they are bad. This claim is loaded and assumes that everyone who
listens to this type of music is bad because through the whole article, they talk about how rap
disrupts moral character and how it leads to bad things. This can also be classified as a hasty
generalization. This is a hasty generalization because the authors generalize beyond the limits of the
population (implying that everyone who listens to rap is a certain type of person).
The authors make another fallacious claim right after the hasty generalization claim. The claim

Dry Tortugas National Park Research Paper
I went to Dry Tortugas National Park this summer. It s the farthest Florida Key and is at least a 70

to go. It was established because once Ponce de LeГіn caught around 160 turtles there. Also, what
makes this park unique is that 99% of it is under water and since the water is so shallow there are
many shipwrecks. I love fishand all but seaweed, on the other hand, is one of my biggest fears.
The next day, I woke up and went to the place that the ferry would pick me up at. The park
provided the ferry ride. The ferry was named the Yankee Freedom III. It was a lot bigger than I
thought it would be and it looked pretty nice inside. When I sat down, a few moments later a girl

lots of trees, signs, benches, people, and a lot of things and I had no idea what they were.
After that, I went to the area that I could set up my tent in. I ended up next to Chole. I decided

My First Activity Of The Food Pantry
My first activity that I was involved in with Catholic Social Services was the food pantry. As my
children progressed through high school, I knew certain classes or clubs were involved with
participating in food drives. Our house was one of the most targeted homes for quite some time
as we live directly across the street from St. Michael s Elementary School which is where some
of the organizations met. St. Cecilia s is also a school that requires wearing a uniform and,
occasionally, the kids could have a free jeans day if each student brought in so many items for
the food pantry and my children were no different than a lot of the others...they wanted to wear
jeans so they would raid my pantry to take food to school. I did not really give it much thought at
the time when I was pulling food from my pantry of how this small act of kindness would help
others. I knew there was a need for the food otherwise the food drive would not take place. I was so
naГЇve in my thought process at that time. The night that I helped sort food at the food pantry
was a major eye opener. My role for the evening was to help supervise high school students, who
were sorting through the food as a community service project. When I walked into the basement
where the food sorting was done, I found several areas that housed certain foods. In talking with
the coordinator, I found that most of that foods had been donated by various stores whether the

Glory By John Legend And Common
A common theme among many scholars is modern poetry lacks poetic merit. The modern version
of poetry is more often than not, found as music and more specifically as lyrics opposed to stanzas.
Traditional poetry is known for its poetic merit; however, modern poetry, music, also has elements
that can be found in traditional poetry. Poetic merit usually refers to the use of numerous poetic
elements: figurative language, imagery, symbolism, allusions, etc. Though scholars may regard
music as lacking in poetic merit, the song Glory by John Legend and Common proves otherwise
through its use of symbolism, alliteration, and allusions to put forth its emotional lyrics that depict
the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement.
Symbolism can often be

Psychological Effects of Television on Children’s...
Does violence on television have a negative effect on children and teenagers? The violence seen on
television has had surprising negative effect. Violence shown on television causes children and
teenagers to develop behavioral problems and learning disabilities. Such behavioral and learning
problems include; language development, school performance / learning, cognitive development
and their general behavior to others (Kinnear 27). In a study on the correlation between violenceand

Children who watched television alone were 8.47 times more likely to have language delay when
compared to children who interacted with their caregivers during television viewing (Dorey 47).
As recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Children under the age of 2
should watch no television at all, and after age 2 watch no more than one to two hours of quality
programming a day (Bettinghaus 57). Therefore, exposing such young children to television
programs should be discouraged. Parents should engage children in more conversational activities
to avoid television related delays to their children language development, which could impair their
intellectual performance (Dorey 47). Television can affect learning and school performance if it
exceeds the time kids need for their crucial for healthy physical and mental development. Most of
children s free time, especially during the early development years, should be spent in activities
such as playing, reading, exploring nature, learning about music or participating in sports. Research
has shown that children s exposure to television during the preschool years is predictive of
academic outcomes during adolescence. The most notable lesson about this

The Skinner s Theory Of Self Awareness, And Moral...
B.F Skinner was one of the most intelligence physiologist and a man who borderline on
frightening traits for a physiologist when it came to creating learning theories, due to his cruelty
towards his experiments and the way he view society structured. Learning theories can be viewed
as mental concepts informing human beings or society, how information is gathered, processed,
and how individuals retained it during learning concepts. Skinner created concepts such as
conditioned behavior, positive reinforcement, and punishments for children who behavior was
viewed as menacing. This term is known as time out for children today, their own version of the
Pandora box if parents choose that path. Moreover, as a radical psychologist among his fellow
peers in their field, Skinner departs from certain beliefs that challenge the notions of self awareness
and moral autonomy of the individual. These particular main philosophies of science are known as
dignity and free will. Skinner main cogent contribution to psychologywas his theory that the
consequences we suffer in our human lives, are directly tied to our behavior along with our
environment. As a behaviorismwho supports deterministic behaviorism, Skinner view free will as
unrealistic theory. To illustrate, individuals can make their own ideals or choices, whether to act
on their desires by going against the law or not. That does not apply to medically insane or young

Analysis Of Truman Capote s Cold Blood

crime. The two people are on trial for their crime, but instead of getting the same punishment, one
gets the death penalty while the other gets 15 years. To think that the outcome should be the same,
however there are more than one factors that play into a person receiving the death penalty and
they are not always considered fair. In Cold Bloodby Truman Capote, displays a situation where
Perry Smith commits a violent crime, and is charged with the death penalty instead of serving

He couldn t control what environment he was raised in therefore killing him without taking his
upbringing into consideration, would be injustice and judging him on the wrong accounts.
Dr. Jones also discussed about Perry s inability to receive an education. Perry uses a wide range
of vocabulary that displays his high intelligence. Although he is above ordinary, he was never
able to get proper education. As Perry expresses, the man I could have been! But that bastard
never gave me a chance. He wouldn t let me go to school....But no education, because he didn t

me to be. So that I could never escape him. But you, Bobo. You went to school. You and Jimmy
and Fern. Every damn one of you got an education. Everybody but me. And I hate you, all of you
Dad and everybody. (Capote 115) Perry voices his anger for not being able to get an education
and resentment towards his father for not giving him an opportunity to get education. He also
spiteful towards his siblings who were able to receive some sort of education. Perry held the

and their key export product is electronic equipment ranging from computers, to flat screens,
microchips and semiconductors.
Singapore
A lot of international trade is going on in Singapore due to its strategic location, highly developed
port facilities and its free trade policies that involve very few trade barriers. Singapore has
virtually no natural resources; therefore the country is highly dependent on import. Their primary
source of import is Malaysia, followed by China, the United States and South Korea. Total value
of import amounts to $373,016 million according to WTO data 2013. Top products imported by
Singapore mainly include raw materials (such as iron and steel), machinery and equipment, and
consumer goods, fuels, mining products and foodstuff. Key export partners are Malaysia, Hong
Kong, China and Indonesia. The value of exports amounts to $410,249 million (WTO data, 2013)

The True Nature Of Universal Intelligence And Innate...
INNATE INTELLIGENCE
We have seen that the essence or origin of all that exists is intelligence, and it is organized in
similar patterns throughout the Universe. Therefore, we called it Universal Intelligence. By
inference, we understand that this principle is not foreign or external to the universe, but that it is
rather intrinsic, innate in all its manifestations, all phenomena of Life. Let s see what the definitions
of the word innate tells us: that which exists inside ; that which is with ; native or natural ; that
which is essential in nature . And the meaning of essential: what is in itself ; own and permanent
identity . The essential nature of everything that exists, all beings, animated or inanimated,
including Man, is therefore the Universal Intelligence, and we say that this is innate and gives them
an identical essence that unites them despite their apparent or superficial difference.
Innate Intelligence, or innate, is the term that applies to the present universal essence in each one
of us. It is the true nature of man. Intelligence, Universal and Innate, is what is. It is what we are
really. The life of our body, the existence of our mind, our spirit, is inherently innate intelligence in
us. Beyond the identity that we give ourselves, beyond our diverse personalities, it ... Show more

Competition heated up as department stores, particularly J.C. Penny Corporation, Inc. and
specialty apparel stores improved their performances. According to the article of Funding
Universe, Kohl s was faced with fierce competition in California from stores such as, Mervyns
and Macy West. Some analysts contended the big push into the Golden State had distracted
management, and indeed the company suffered from excess inventory, forcing it to discount
heavily, which dented profits. Some shoppers turned to rival retailers when they encountered
less well kept stores and longer checkout lines than usual. Which the numbers were
disappointing, while revenues were still up 12.7 percent, surpassing the ten billion mark for the
first time, but net income fell for the first time in ten years dropping a whopping 8.5% to $581
million, and in store sales fell 1.6 percent. In view of the financial statements attached to this
paper, Kohl s acquired debt increased both in dollars and as a percentage of sales. Gross margin
as a percentage of sales was 36.4% in 2014, much lower in 2013. The merchandise margin
increased, but was offset by higher shipping losses attributable to growth in the number of on line

The Crossover Quotes
Have you ever felt left out or pushed away from others? In the novel, The Crossover, by Kwame
Alexander. I chose to write about the main character Josh Bell. Josh Bell is a caring, immature
and athletic teen who, through a series of trials comes of age. Josh Bell is caring because in the
book it says, Tell him a joke. He doesn t even smile...Do his chores. He pays no attention...Say I
m sorry but he won t listen (145), this quote shows he is very sorry that he hurt his brother and
made him go to the hospital. In the book it also says, Well, I will talk to her about this job thing,
since it means so much to you. (167), this piece of evidence shows that Josh cares about his
father and is even willing to talk to his mom to convince her to let him take the job. These two
quotes show how Josh is a caring teenager. Josh Bell is also very immature because in the book it
says, Today, I plan on passing the ball to JB, but when I hear him say Filthy, give me the ball, I
dribble over to my brother and fire a pass so hard, it levels him (134), this quote shows that he
acted immaturely and without thinking or caring about what would happen to his brother. In the
book it also says, Me and dad stare at each other for ten minutes without saying a word. I tell him, I
have nothing to say. (208), this evidence shows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Filthy, JB says. And for the first time in my life I don t want to be. (225), this evidence from the

Connecticut Compromise
Equality in the Senate sparked a lot of debates during the Connecticut compromise. Some argued
that equality in the Senate would lead to state corporate capacity, while others argued this will help
balance the national government. To an extent the reason why a good chunk of the debates focused
on the idea of a balanced Senate, in my opinion, was because this topic the more complicated part of
the Connecticut Compromise. The founders were fairly certain that one of the branches of the
legislator was going to represent each population of the state (there were some concerns regarding
slavery in the southern states; however, it wasn t a major issue during the Connecticut
Compromise) just the founders did not know how to fairly represent the other branch. On June 28th

as the small states it would naturally lead to inequality in the Senate. The large states would
simply have to share the same opinion to overpower the Senate. This would lead to the small
states in having no say in what happens in the country. Personally I do not agree with Luther s
concerns. It logically does not make a lot of sense, in my opinion. If every state has equal say
there is really no way that one state can overpower the other. However, I do find the argument about

Testamentary Capacity To Make Will Case Study
Capacity to make will. The court held that there was sufficient mental capacity the mind need not
be in perfect shape and the disposition logical in order to have testamentary capacity. The excerpt
below summarizes the court s ruling in favor of admitting the will to probate:
The jury in this case also heard testimony about Pat s health problems, including testimony about a
1983 electric shock accident, his headaches, and his declining health in 2005. Brenda conceded
that Pat performed his daily work after the accident; he worked cattle on horseback. Members of
Pat s family testified that Pat possessed all his mental faculties after the accident, noticing no
change in his daily behavior beyond some difficulty walking. The jury heard testimony that, in
December 2004, Pat suffered from headaches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She claims that, because no evidence demonstrates that Pat discussed his children or the
approximate nature of his property with the witnesses on the date he executed his will, Pat
lacked the capacity to make a judgment about bequeathing his property. She asserts that Pat did
not know who his children were because his will names a child whom he never adopted in a
legal proceeding, and it omits an alleged sixth child. But a finding of testamentary capacity does
not hinge entirely on direct evidence that the testator discussed the details of his children,
wealth, or disposition at the time he signed his will. See Prather, 76 Tex. at 584 85, 13 S.W. at
545 46. The jury heard direct evidence of Pat s general mental condition on the day he executed
his will and the attending months before and after: this evidence supports its determination that
Pat knew that he was executing his will and that he had deliberately chosen Patricia to be his sole
beneficiary. The evidence at trial would enable reasonable and fair minded people to reach the
verdict under review. See City of Keller, 168 S.W.3d at

Community
A community is a group of people interacting in a meaningful way with regard to something they
share in common. It used to be that a community, in order to function as a group and interact, had
to be in the same geographic location or at least within driving distance. Since the internet has now
become so widely available we find that people with common interests and goals are reaching
across vast distances to interact with each other. There is even language translation software
available that can translate other languages into one s own. These have begun to break down
previous barriers such as distance and language but even cultural barriers may become a thing of

Characterization Of The Narrator Cathedral
Characterization of the Narrator in Cathedral In the short story Cathedral , written by Raymond
Carver, the story is told through the narrator s eyes as the audience gains insight on his
perspective of his life and, more specifically, his views on his wife and her blind friend. The
narrator s name is never mentioned throughout the story, but his personality and initial narrow
minded bias towards his wife s friend Robert depicts his character traits. Throughout the story he
does not seem to change his views, but once he experiences Robert s point of view in his life, the
narrator changes his perspective. This suggests the narrator is a dynamic character in the story
due to his change after getting to know Robert. The story opens with the narrator giving a
background of his wife and Robert. Immediately, it is easy for the audience to form a negative
opinion about the narrator. Within the first paragraph of the story he says, I wasn t enthusiastic
about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me (Carver 33). This
exemplifies his pre formed opinion about Robert even though he hardly knows anything about
him. He clearly is uncomfortable with the fact that Robert is blind, mainly based on his lack of
exposure to people with disabilities. The narrator is very narrow minded for most of this story,
making it easy to initially dislike him. As the story progresses, the narrator appears incredibly
cynical about nearly everything that is going on around

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Children s Era
The Children s Era by Margaret Sanger: A Rhetorical Analysis
Founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, in her speech at the 1925 birth control
conference, The Children s Era, explains the downfalls in American society when it comes to
raising children. Through this speech, Sanger is trying to further promote her nonprofit
organization and display the benefits of birth control. She appears to show compassionate
characteristics towards children, more specifically the future American children, as she adopts an
urgent tone to encompass her listeners into her ultimate goal, widespread, effective birth control
methods.
Rhetorical questions are key in Sanger s speech as not all those at the conference completely
agree with Sanger s stance on birth control. There are undoubtedly people in the crowd and at
the conference for the sheer purpose of disagreeing with her and her colleagues. She stays on top
of their rebuttals with a barrage of rhetorical questions. Not only does she use rhetorical questions
to address counter arguments, but Sanger also uses questions like Why has so little been
accomplished? in spite of all our acknowledged love of children, all our generosity, all our good
will, all the enormous spending of millions on philanthropy and charities, all our warm hearted
sentiment, all our incessant activity and social consciousness? Why? to instill into her listeners
minds the idea that even after all of these efforts, the children s lives must still be made

The Body Rituals Of The Nacirema By Horace Miner
In the Body Rituals of the Nacirema, the author Horace Miner makes a very intriguing analysis of
the Nacirema culture and their beliefs. Throughout the course of the passage, we are able to see
how he closely observes the nacirema culture and tries to understand their living habits and daily
lives. Miner explains to us how their cultureconsists of unusual practices and almost magical rituals.
Of course, the work that occurs throughout the passage resembles the work that a cultural
anthropologist would do. A cultural anthropologist travels to different parts of the world in order to
observe and study a plethora of different cultures and their beliefs. In the beginning of the passage,
Miner explains how an anthropologist becomes accustomed to the peculiar traditions of different
cultures because they interact and closely examine them. It is this reason why I believe this article
would fall under the field of cultural anthropology. Cultural Anthropologyis defined as the study of
culture, traditions, and environment (Haviland, 2017). The passage allows us the opportunity to
closely examine the ways and traditional beliefs of the nacirema . For instance, in the passage
Miner states that the Nacirema loathe their physical appearance, The fundamental belief underlying
the whole system appears to be that the human body is ugly and that its natural tendency is to
debility and disease (Haviland, 2017). Horace Miner not only focuses on their beliefs but their

My Experience At A University Level
This course has become a journey for me. It has been one of my first classes at a university level.
I have learned many valuable skills and lessons. I know they will be of great use to me in my
further years at college, and in life. First, I learned that if I follow instructions and meet the criteria
that is expected of me I can do very well. Secondly, I had the opportunityto learn how to develop a
resume for college and work use. Having a resume that is up to standards and knowing what I need
to modify, in the years to come, is extremely helpful when I am trying to obtain an occupation.
Additionally, I also obtained the knowledge and skills on how to conduct research. Learninghow to
use the OSU library website to be able to find academic databases has been extremely helpful. I
have learned how to access the databases and be able to search and obtain what I need. Even
though, my other classes have not required me to conduct research, I may have to conduct
research in the years to come. Knowing how to navigate the website and conduct my research will
make it easier. I am very pleased with myself that I chose to do the extracredit that was offered. I
knew that many professors did not offer the opportunity to gain extra credit. When I heard how
many opportunities and points that I could potentially obtained I knew I had to try. Which, I am
glad I did. The extra credit helped tremendously. Seeing the results reflect on my grade made me
realize that I was on the right track.

Transformational Leadership Is Developing And Transforming...
As discussed in the text, transformational leadership is characteristic of a leader that helps bring
about major, positive changes by moving group members beyond their self interests and toward the
good of the group, organization, or society. The essence of transformational leadership is
developing and transforming people (Dubrin) . A perfect portrayal of this leadershipstyle is Walt
Disney. Walt Disney transformed the hearts and minds by setting forth a visionary reality. Walt
knew that by taking his visionary strengths and working with his brother to complement each other
s strengths that they would be able to foster a group of followers and visionary leaders working
with them. Walt led with four key tenants: Chase your dream, believe... Show more content on

The second characteristic is enthusiasm. Walt motivated his employees and encouraged them to
inspire achievement. An enthusiastic leader keeps the employees engaged and more likely to keep
them of a positive mindset.
The third characteristic is confidence. Disney is famous for his quote It takes people to make the
dream a reality . Disney was confident in his ideals and his vision, and he was confident in the
people he had working with him to make it happen. He worked hard to instill that confidence in
those people around him. It takes true confidence in oneself to feel connected to and truly engaged
because not only do you know that those around you believe in you, but most importantly that you
believe in you. When a leader is confident those that work under that leader are more likely to
perform better because they are assured of a confident future.
The fourth characteristic is courage. Disney historian Craig Hodgkins said of Walt that he was
completely focused on his product and his goals, not on himself (ISU). By being able to do this,
the leader s energy is honed into the mission and not reflective of how one looks or appears and
exclusively about the brand.
The fifth characteristic is persistence. The things that are worthwhile are hard work. Walt
understood this and was persistent to the end. He set out to finish what he started. This is an

Hydrogen Gas Lab
Hydrogen Gas Produced from Metals and Acids
Abstract
Experiments 2 1 and 2 2 study the production of hydrogen gas by different chemical reactions. By
using a hydrogen gas collection apparatus and the principles of chemistry, we were able to evaluate
the data and reach our goal. Experiment 2 1 uses zinc, magnesium and aluminum and how much
hydrogen gas they produce to predict the volume of hydrogen gas produced for different masses of
each metal. In this experiment we see that each metal has an increasing amount of hydrogen gas as
mass goes up, however each metal had different amount of hydrogen gas for the same mass. Zinc
produced the least amount of hydrogen gas, then increasing with magnesium, and aluminum
produced the highest amount. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was an increasing trend because the metal was the limiting reactant in this experiment. The
amount of each metal placed in the hydrochloric acid was fully used up before the acid was. From
Figure 1, it is clear that aluminum produced the most amount of hydrogen gas, then magnesium in
the middle and zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas. This shows that the same mass
of each metal does not produce the same amount of hydrogen gas. Looking at the balanced
equations for each of the metals (see lab 2 1, equation 1 and 2), it seems the metals have a similar
stoichiometry, however zinc produced a lesser amount of hydrogen gas compared to magnesium
because zinc has a higher molar mass than magnesium does. Due to this, more zinc is needed to
produce the same amount of hydrogen gas as magnesium. When aluminum and magnesium are
compared, it is seen that aluminum and magnesium have similar molar masses, however they have
a different stoichiometry (experiment 2 1, equation 1 and 3). Two moles of aluminum react to
produce three moles of hydrogen gas, while one mole of magnesium react to produce one mole of
hydrogen gas. Based on this stoichiometry, a higher mass of magnesium is needed to produce the
same amount of hydrogen gas as

Similarities Between Yeasts And Molds
Funguses include different yeasts and molds, both of which are unicellular microorganisms.
Both include species, that can be used for food processing.
Alcohol poisons most microbes, but yeasts have evolved to tolerate high alcohol concentrations
because they produce alcohol in an anaerobic biological process called ethanol fermentation.
They convert sugars are converted into cellular energy and produce ethanol and carbon dioxide.
Some of the yeasts create a foul taste and thus can t be used in the making of alcoholic beverages.
One of the yeasts used in brewing is Saccharomyces pastorianus.
If there is oxygen present yeasts produce only carbon dioxide, a process often utilized in baking.

On the other hand, molds can spoil food, produce toxic compounds and mold spores, all of which
can make ingesters sick.
On the other, certain species of molds are used in making of, for example, blue cheese, tempeh and
rennet.
Multicellular funguses produce fruition forms, also known as mushrooms, to effectively spread
their spores above the ground.
Mushrooms are capable of making their of wind. They release water, which then evaporates and
cools the air around the mushroom. Cooler air is denser than warm air and it flows away from the
mushroom, carrying the spores around 10 cm both horizontally and vertically.
Mushrooms are often used in the food industry. Not all of them are edible, but certain species are
considered a delicacy. One of these mushrooms are truffles. Truffles are usually found around
certain species of trees and they are picky when it comes to the soil they grow on. One thing that
makes truffles differ from most mushrooms is, that they grow underground. This makes extraction

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is one of the most severe yet common cases of Muscular
Dystrophy that occurs mainly in boys of younger age. Guillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne, who
was a French neurologist, was the first to discover this disorder in the 1860s (Emery, 2008, pp.
25). This disease is an X linked disorder which affects the skeletal system, and causes rapid
muscular weakness and heart muscleproblems. It s stated that 1 out of every 3,600 males will be
diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy(Bushby, 2009, pp.1). According to the Muscular
Dystrophy Association, symptoms usually begin to show between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. (pp.
1) Some of the symptoms may include delayed in walking, regularly falling, learning difficulties,...

arise in the age range of 5 and may include inability use motor skills for instance, running or
jumping, speaking skills delayed, weakness on the hips and thighs, and intellectual disability
(Haldeman Englert, 2014, pp. 1 2). A physical characteristic that can be detected from a parent of
a child who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the enlargement of the calve muscles (Emery,
2008, pp. 27).This is a disease that rapidly affects the person who has it. Using a wheelchair by
the time the patient is an adolescent is very common in this form of Muscular Dystrophy. Unlike
Duchenne, Becker Muscular Dystrophy symptoms are known to be milder and often are not even
diagnosed with it until later on in the person s childhood. Although when the symptoms do arise
they may consist of muscle cramps, mild skeletal muscle involvement, and cardiac problems.
Depending on the case the patient may need a wheelchair as a way get around while others use

Comparing Matthew And Mark s Gospel
Matthew s Gospel was written for a Jewish Christian community. This is evident because Matthew
never explains Jewish tradition. Matthew s Gospel was written in about 85 90 AD. Matthew was
writing to a community in Northern Palestine or Southern Israel. The community that Matthew was
writing the gospel for was in crisis. After the destruction of the temple, the community was trying
to figure out how to be a follower of Jesuswithout the temple or the land. In the gospel, Matthew
writes about a variety of themes. He writes about the conflict and promises made to Israel.
Similarly to Mark s Gospel, Matthew writes about outreach to gentiles and discipleship. Matthew
also includes themes relating to the old testament, church organization, and final judgment. In
Matthew s Gospel, the role of faith is prominent. In the healing stories, the focus is on the
conversation between Jesus and the person he is healing and the secondary people and actions are
left out. In this passage of Matthew s Gospel, I hope to learn the deeper meaning of the text. I hope

In Luke s version of the story, he names the town Bethsaida, this is not included in either of the
other versions. Also in Luke s version, the crowd followed Jesus there, but in Matthew and Mark
s Jesus saw the crowd once he arrived and he pitied them. In both Matthew and Mark s passage,
the disciples say to dismiss the crowd to the villages around so that they can buy food and then
Jesus replies that the disciples should give the crowd food themselves. Matthew leaves out the
part that is included in Mark s Gospel when the disciples ask if they are supposed to buy the food
for all these people. Then in all three passages, Jesus looks up to heaven, says the blessing, and
then the disciples distribute the food. Then at the end of the passage, Mark says that five thousand
men were fed and Matthew adds that it does not count women and

The Sex Lives Of Cannibals Summary
Several thousand miles away from the out stretched borders of the United States lies the island
republic of Kiribati. Stretching along the equator, Kiribati consists of 33 atolls, which are ring
shaped coral reefs or islands that surround a body of water called a lagoon. With a total land mass
equivalent to Baltimore, Kiribati boasts a population of around 80,000 people scattered across its
21 inhabited islands. Tarawa is the capital of Kiribati and where the story, ultimately, begins. J.
Maarten Troost s adventure to the islandatoll of Tarawa is told within the pages of his book, The
Sex Lives of Cannibals. Misadventures galore, Troost describes his existence on Tarawa during a
two year journey that is laced with episodes of culture shock and acculturation. As previously
mentioned, J. Maarten Troost s book, The Sex Lives of Cannibals, is a true life story that
chronicles his two year stay on the remote tropical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marines. Many remnants of the fight still reside on Tarawa. Reefs are polluted with the rusting
carcasses of ships and planes, abandoned bunkers are used as toilets and trash receptacles, and old
antiaircraft guns are used for hanging laundry (Troost, 2004). Another example of American
influence on Tarawa stems from the mere pittance that the United States paid for fishing rights
around Kiribati. Regardless of the amount paid by the US and other countries very little
benefitted the locals of the islands being drained of their natural resources. The outcome was
dishonesty and incompetence by a government that misused funds and oppressed its own citizens.
The residents now have a serious problem with diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure due to
their local diet being replaced by food imported by the U.S.A. What Western culture sees as a
helping hand can actually be a devastating blow to the more steady, traditional way of

Stereotypes In The Real World
Stereotypes are all around us. Wherever one goes there will be stereotypes for people, groups, or
even animals. For example, pit bulls are known to be vicious dogs, even though there are many
pit bulls that are nice and friendly. These stereotypes can cloud good people s judgement of
others just solely based on appearance. This prejudgment of a person can hurt them various ways
in the real world such as applying for a job. A man that wants to be a nurse can hurt his manliness
because nurses are thought to be a job for women only. The genderstereotypesin this world are not
making anything better, just worse. In order to get one step closer to gender equality we as a
society need to eliminate stereotypes as a whole. Now, some may say that... Show more content on

new society, we teach kids the mentality of everybody gets a trophy. We teach kids to just go out

stereotype of these goofy dads yet it is. If you take a look at older TV shows compared to new
ones you ll notice one big difference in the way dads are portrayed. In the old shows, dads were
depicted as old, stern, classy men. But nowadays, dads are all goofy and dumb. Could this change
be related to the new upcoming society? The TV producers may want to film to appeal to the

Difference in Social Relations Between City Dwellers and...
Why are the social relations between urban and rural areas so different and what causes these
differences to occur? This question is what I am going to be arguing. I will be doing this not only
through my opinions and ideas, but also through the works of Georg Simmel, Louis Wirth and
Ernest Burgess. All three of these urban scholars add a slightly different view of urbanism as a
way of life.
Georg Simmel s interpretation of interpersonal social relations in the city is one based on the
stimulus a person comes in contact with. Simmel writes this in his essay, The Metropolis and
Mental Life. He clearly states, The intensification of emotional life due to the swift and continuous
shift of external and internal stimuli. (Blackwell, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simmel s work overlaps with that of Louis Wirth. Most notably their work overlaps in the
struggle to define the social relationships that are made in urban societies to those that are made
in rural communities. Wirth conveys this message in his work called, Urbanism as a Way of Life.
Wirth writes, The superficiality, the anonymity, and the transitory character of urban social
relations make intelligible, also, the sophistication and the rationality generally ascribed to city
dwellers. (Metropolis, 68) Both Wirth and Simmel are aware that the social relationships of city
dwellers are ones based on intelligence and rationality and are removed of emotion. However, with
Wirth, I would like to focus on his idea that a city is not only high in population, but it is also high
density and high heterogeneity and how these things play a role in the social relationships of rural
and urban communities.
First, I would like to look at the competition levels between city dwellers and people in rural
communities. The high population and high density play a huge role in the amount of competition
that takes place in the city, compared to the amount that takes place in rural communities. The sheer
number of people and the relatively small area that they share cause the competition level to rise
exponentially. Also, the lack of emotional connections between city

Keynesian Economics For American Fiscal Policy
Pragmatism reactionarily stems from the excesses of its past. The realization in United States
politics that increasing government tax rates would not solve the economic malaise of high
unemployment and rising inflation occurred in the late 1970s. Thus began a movement in the
minority of economic thought suggesting the existence of a prudent alternative to the widely
accepted theory of Keynesian economics for American fiscal policy. Though subtle at first, these
ideas of supply side economics gained traction quickly and reached the national stage with Ronald
Reagans Inaugural address and promise to end the troubles of stagflation and begin the

The crux of Ronald Reagan s economic policy, the tax cuts, paved the road for success in the
improvement of the economy. The promised effect of an increase in federal revenues and
reduction in the cost of capital for America s private sector necessitated the lowering of marginal
tax rates that occurred in Ronald Reagan s first term. The embodiment of these reductions and
much of the credit for the economic rebound of the mid 1980s can be assigned to the Kemp Roth
Tax Cut Act of 1981. Reagan s trickle down economics strategy held underpinnings in his belief that
the nation s wealthiest individuals and captains of industry had been disincentivized to earn more
money from the oppressive tax rates of his predecessors. Accordingly, Kemp Roth cut the top tax
rate from 70% to 50% as recognition of the disproportionate financial capability of the nation s top
earners to reintroduce prosperity. Additionally, Kemp Roth provided benefits to the affluent by
increasing the estate tax exemption from $175,000 to $600,000 and by increasing deductions
therein to further circumvent the re taxation of hereditary wealth. While Reagan entrusted the top
tax bracket with the responsibility of spending these funds as part of his plan to end the prolonged
period of unemployment, Reagan also included provisions in the Kemp Roth Tax Cut that affected
all workers by removing

The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History
In Jennifer Price s recent essay, The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History, Price uses the idea of
the plastic pink flamingo that is strangely popular throughout America to criticize the present
United States culture. As expected from the contrary words plastic and natural in just the title of
her essay, this passage is driven by irony. With that said, Price uses a satirical tone to criticize the
ignorance of American culture. Price begins her essay with a metaphor. She uses verbs related to
the flamingo such as splashed and flocking, to explain how Americans had made the bird
synonymous with wealth and pizzazz (Price). Notice the contrary

people who all they want is to bring their family up by always working and doing their best,
Solomon was a hardworking manwho was always trying the best he could just to bring that extra

Towns And Cities During The Middle Ages
Towns and cities were extremely important to the Middle Ages and especially in the way we
perceived this glorious age, giving economic opportunities, better lifestyles, and overall
advancement in society. Through the Middle Ages, growth of these urban centers happened due to
the economic stability of the time. The boom in population and religious lifestyle of the time,
helped set the stage for the economy to really thrive, the best since the classical age. During the
Medieval Age, from the 1100 s to the 1300 s, better technology, and climate allowed an increase in
the amount of people in all of Europe. Religion also was also important, because it helped increase
human traffic. Finally, economic growth. People went to towns and cities to escape... Show more

This can see in modern times, but especially in the Medieval times due to the lack of advanced
transportation and technology. Accessibility, most merchants brought large amounts of goods
through ship and boat. This heavily helped trade centers near bodies of water, It was always
much easier to float your stuff down a river than to drag it down a road ( The Rise ). In general,
people always tended to go to places where they could easily meet, economically and socially.
Commercially, groups of towns and cities would come together in similar specializations, and
govern similar trade laws, to remove competition. Towns around the North Sea formed a club
called the Hanseatic league, which encompassed over 70 towns by 1350, all abiding by strict
trade rules(Jeremiah 231). These towns monopolized the North Sea and controlled all trade
routes, through it. Many of these commercial contracts came together taking advantage of
different social and geologic factors, allowing cities and towns to grow and the economy to
prosper. Just due to the location of villages, and land in general would towns and cities pop up,
as the wealthier look for ways to make more money and put their mark on the history of Europe.
The climate of these locations also helped in the economy, gentle rains during the years helped
give fruitful harvests, soft winds blew ships into ports, and calm climates allowed easy travel over

  • 2. Perceptive Categories It s a sad occurrence, but these types of misfortunes (stumbling) don t happen unless you are in the wrong surroundings. Avoid those surroundings! Sometimes wisdom comes by observing people. If you are observant of people s behavior you ll notice that there are three types of people in this world: the Predators, the Prey and the Perceptive. Let s take a look at the definitions for each of these words Predators are people who plunders or destroys; a, group, that steals from others or destroys others for gain. Prey is someone who is helpless or unable to resist attack; a victim. The Perceptive are people who are quick to understand, showing sharp, keen insight (and the definition I like the best) they know what s what. I pray that you are a perceptive... • 3. The Chrysanthemums And The Story Of An Hour Analysis The Chrysanthemums vs The Story of an Hour John Steinbeck s short story, The Chrysanthemums, and Kate Chopin s , The Story of an Hour, both exhibit a main theme of female isolationism due to being treated as a possession in marriage, as well as the forbidden desires in life that were seized from both female protagonists. Beginning with the opening sentence, Steinbeck conveys a somber tone through the description of the setting hanging above the farm in The Chrysanthemums. The high grey flannel fog of winter closed off the Salinas Valley from the skyand from all the rest of the world (Steinbeck, John uhhhh boneless pizza). As the female protagonist in a historically accurate story in the late 1930s, Elisa is condemned to living in a sort of confinement from the outside world, seeing as her husband would do all of the business on the farm. She has something in common with the Salinas Valley, as she too is closed off from the sky and from all the rest of the world under the cloak of her married name. Accompanying the isolation from the outside world is a dismal depression, which can be transcribed as a high grey flannel fog or an overcast sky to mimic the solemn feeling. Elisa s attempt to stave off this depression of not being able to live her best life can be noticed as she gives her utmost attention to her flowers. Equally brilliant to set the tone right off the bat, Chopin uses a literary technique known as Chekhov s gun and includes a detail that the readers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The second factor adding to the prosperity of the industry was the jump the Dominican Republic had on the organic food market, which arose in the early 90s due to their lack of chemical use. • 8. Global Warming And The Greenhouse Gases Many people know that global warming is an issue in today s world because news media and politicians always talk about global warming and the greenhouse gasses. It seems like an issue that is not going to go away, and it is going to stick around for some time. As early as in 2006, Al Gore, the former vice president of the United States, said that the burning of the fossil fuels was one of the reasons that increased the amount of carbon dioxide, and he said that if carbon dioxide could melt the polar caps and raise sea levels if it was left uncontrolled (Vardiman 1). However, there are also those who do not believe in global warmingand thinks that it is a myth. For example, the fourth IPCC assessment report found that the rise in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... while the temperature variations or anomalies have also been rising since 1860 with observation values higher than model values (Houghton 3). The significance of this is that carbon dioxide, temperature fluctuations, and actual sea level temperature have all been rising, and they have a direct relationship. It shows that this is not a co incidence. A prediction indicates that if this same trend continues, carbon dioxide will reach to 650 ppm in the year 2100 (Houghton 4). Even with the best care and reduction in carbon dioxide output, the level will still get to 450 ppm in the year 2100. The temperature will rise about 10 degrees Celsius higher if we just let carbon dioxide get to 650 ppm in the year 2100 (Houghton 4). Aside from the increase in greenhouse gasses and the temperature, Dr.Vardiman states that if global warming is occurring then hurricane frequency should be on the rise, and polar sea ice should be melting (Vardiman 2). In this aspect, the data shows that the hurricane frequency has increased 3% in the past 150 years in the Gulf of Alaska, and the Arctic ice has melted 5% in the past 25 years. These datasets from greenhouse gasses, temperature, hurricanes, and ice melts show that the globe is warming which implies that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The speaker is an observer who is watching the neighborhood interact with the bull moose. At first, the townspeople stand around and stare at the moose and wonder where he came from. They believe that the moose is docile, so they begin to treat him like an old, tolerant collie but at the end, they are reminded of his incredible power. Throughout the poem, the speaker maintains a sympathetic tone toward the moose as they watch the group torment him. Through the speaker and powerful imagery, the theme is revealed. • 11. Essay about Rap and Moral Character Rap and Moral Character In the article Rap and Moral Character by Wesley Cragg and Christine Koggel, the subject of concern is the consequences of listening to rap music and the effects on moral behaviour. The author suggests that rap and moral character are linked and that due to the natural context of rap, it promotes violence, crass materialism, crime, and is misogynistic and therefore corrupts a person s moral character. Based on their claims, the authors take the position that rap should be censured morally. In this paper, I will examine the authors claims, their reasoning, and their use of concepts. By doing so, I will be able to demonstrate that their thesis (rap corrupts moral character and deserves moral censure) is unjust... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This claim may seem to be fine if it stood by itself. However, in this context, the author is saying that everyone who listens to rap is bad, corrupt, and engages in criminal activities. In other words, the authors are saying that they are bad. This claim is loaded and assumes that everyone who listens to this type of music is bad because through the whole article, they talk about how rap disrupts moral character and how it leads to bad things. This can also be classified as a hasty generalization. This is a hasty generalization because the authors generalize beyond the limits of the population (implying that everyone who listens to rap is a certain type of person). The authors make another fallacious claim right after the hasty generalization claim. The claim Seeking out such material is like seeking out and choosing to watch portrayals of atrocities, such as rapes, executions, and real life violence, all of which are available in our culture and on the Internet is a prime example of Red Herring. This year is the park s 100th anniversary and I was so excited, and scared, to go. It was established because once Ponce de LeГіn caught around 160 turtles there. Also, what makes this park unique is that 99% of it is under water and since the water is so shallow there are many shipwrecks. • 14. My First Activity Of The Food Pantry My first activity that I was involved in with Catholic Social Services was the food pantry. As my children progressed through high school, I knew certain classes or clubs were involved with participating in food drives. Our house was one of the most targeted homes for quite some time as we live directly across the street from St. Michael s Elementary School which is where some of the organizations met. St. Cecilia s is also a school that requires wearing a uniform and, occasionally, the kids could have a free jeans day if each student brought in so many items for the food pantry and my children were no different than a lot of the others...they wanted to wear jeans so they would raid my pantry to take food to school. I did not really give it much thought at the time when I was pulling food from my pantry of how this small act of kindness would help others. I knew there was a need for the food otherwise the food drive would not take place. I was so naГЇve in my thought process at that time. The night that I helped sort food at the food pantry was a major eye opener. My role for the evening was to help supervise high school students, who were sorting through the food as a community service project. When I walked into the basement where the food sorting was done, I found several areas that housed certain foods. In talking with the coordinator, I found that most of that foods had been donated by various stores whether the store has a quota that is established for donations or if ... • 16. Glory By John Legend And Common A common theme among many scholars is modern poetry lacks poetic merit. The modern version of poetry is more often than not, found as music and more specifically as lyrics opposed to stanzas. Traditional poetry is known for its poetic merit; however, modern poetry, music, also has elements that can be found in traditional poetry. Poetic merit usually refers to the use of numerous poetic elements: figurative language, imagery, symbolism, allusions, etc. Though scholars may regard music as lacking in poetic merit, the song Glory by John Legend and Common proves otherwise through its use of symbolism, alliteration, and allusions to put forth its emotional lyrics that depict the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement. • 17. Psychological Effects of Television on Children’s... Does violence on television have a negative effect on children and teenagers? The violence seen on television has had surprising negative effect. Violence shown on television causes children and teenagers to develop behavioral problems and learning disabilities. Such behavioral and learning problems include; language development, school performance / learning, cognitive development and their general behavior to others (Kinnear 27). In a study on the correlation between violenceand televisiondone with 1,565 teenage boys over a six year period in London, William Belson, a British psychologist, found that every time a child saw someone being shot or killed on television they became less caring towards other people. Therefore, exposing such young children to television programs should be discouraged. Parents should engage children in more conversational activities to avoid television related delays to their children language development, which could impair their intellectual performance (Dorey 47). B.F Skinner was one of the most intelligence physiologist and a man who borderline on frightening traits for a physiologist when it came to creating learning theories, due to his cruelty towards his experiments and the way he view society structured. Learning theories can be viewed as mental concepts informing human beings or society, how information is gathered, processed, and how individuals retained it during learning concepts. Skinner created concepts such as conditioned behavior, positive reinforcement, and punishments for children who behavior was viewed as menacing. This term is known as time out for children today, their own version of the Pandora box if parents choose that path. Moreover, as a radical psychologist among his fellow peers in their field, Skinner departs from certain beliefs that challenge the notions of self awareness and moral autonomy of the individual. These particular main philosophies of science are known as dignity and free will. Skinner main cogent contribution to psychologywas his theory that the consequences we suffer in our human lives, are directly tied to our behavior along with our environment. As a behaviorismwho supports deterministic behaviorism, Skinner view free will as unrealistic theory. INNATE INTELLIGENCE We have seen that the essence or origin of all that exists is intelligence, and it is organized in similar patterns throughout the Universe. Therefore, we called it Universal Intelligence. By inference, we understand that this principle is not foreign or external to the universe, but that it is rather intrinsic, innate in all its manifestations, all phenomena of Life. Let s see what the definitions of the word innate tells us: that which exists inside ; that which is with ; native or natural ; that which is essential in nature . But a finding of testamentary capacity does not hinge entirely on direct evidence that the testator discussed the details of his children, wealth, or disposition at the time he signed his will. The narrator s name is never mentioned throughout the story, but his personality and initial narrow minded bias towards his wife s friend Robert depicts his character traits. Throughout the story he does not seem to change his views, but once he experiences Robert s point of view in his life, the narrator changes his perspective. This suggests the narrator is a dynamic character in the story due to his change after getting to know Robert. The story opens with the narrator giving a background of his wife and Robert. Immediately, it is easy for the audience to form a negative opinion about the narrator. Within the first paragraph of the story he says, I wasn t enthusiastic about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me (Carver 33). This exemplifies his pre formed opinion about Robert even though he hardly knows anything about him. He clearly is uncomfortable with the fact that Robert is blind, mainly based on his lack of exposure to people with disabilities. There are undoubtedly people in the crowd and at the conference for the sheer purpose of disagreeing with her and her colleagues. The essence of transformational leadership is developing and transforming people (Dubrin) . A perfect portrayal of this leadershipstyle is Walt Disney. Walt Disney transformed the hearts and minds by setting forth a visionary reality. Walt knew that by taking his visionary strengths and working with his brother to complement each other s strengths that they would be able to foster a group of followers and visionary leaders working with them. Walt motivated his employees and encouraged them to inspire achievement. An enthusiastic leader keeps the employees engaged and more likely to keep them of a positive mindset. The third characteristic is confidence. Disney is famous for his quote It takes people to make the dream a reality . Disney was confident in his ideals and his vision, and he was confident in the people he had working with him to make it happen. He worked hard to instill that confidence in those people around him. It takes true confidence in oneself to feel connected to and truly engaged because not only do you know that those around you believe in you, but most importantly that you believe in you. When a leader is confident those that work under that leader are more likely to perform better because they are assured of a confident future. The fourth characteristic is courage. Disney historian Craig Hodgkins said of Walt that he was completely focused on his product and his goals, not on himself (ISU). By being able to do this, the leader s energy is honed into the mission and not reflective of how one looks or appears and exclusively about the brand. The fifth characteristic is persistence. The things that are worthwhile are hard work. Walt understood this and was persistent to the end. He set out to finish what he started. This is an extremely important ... By using a hydrogen gas collection apparatus and the principles of chemistry, we were able to evaluate the data and reach our goal. Experiment 2 1 uses zinc, magnesium and aluminum and how much hydrogen gas they produce to predict the volume of hydrogen gas produced for different masses of each metal. In this experiment we see that each metal has an increasing amount of hydrogen gas as mass goes up, however each metal had different amount of hydrogen gas for the same mass. Zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas, then increasing with magnesium, and aluminum produced the highest amount. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was an increasing trend because the metal was the limiting reactant in this experiment. The amount of each metal placed in the hydrochloric acid was fully used up before the acid was. From Figure 1, it is clear that aluminum produced the most amount of hydrogen gas, then magnesium in the middle and zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas. This shows that the same mass of each metal does not produce the same amount of hydrogen gas. Looking at the balanced equations for each of the metals (see lab 2 1, equation 1 and 2), it seems the metals have a similar stoichiometry, however zinc produced a lesser amount of hydrogen gas compared to magnesium because zinc has a higher molar mass than magnesium does. Due to this, more zinc is needed to produce the same amount of hydrogen gas as magnesium. When aluminum and magnesium are compared, it is seen that aluminum and magnesium have similar molar masses, however they have a different stoichiometry (experiment 2 1, equation 1 and 3). Two moles of aluminum react to produce three moles of hydrogen gas, while one mole of magnesium react to produce one mole of hydrogen gas. Based on this stoichiometry, a higher mass of magnesium is needed to produce the same amount of hydrogen gas as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This question is what I am going to be arguing. I will be doing this not only through my opinions and ideas, but also through the works of Georg Simmel, Louis Wirth and Ernest Burgess. All three of these urban scholars add a slightly different view of urbanism as a way of life. Georg Simmel s interpretation of interpersonal social relations in the city is one based on the stimulus a person comes in contact with. Simmel writes this in his essay, The Metropolis and Mental Life. He clearly states, The intensification of emotional life due to the swift and continuous shift of external and internal stimuli. (Blackwell, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simmel s work overlaps with that of Louis Wirth. Most notably their work overlaps in the struggle to define the social relationships that are made in urban societies to those that are made in rural communities. Wirth conveys this message in his work called, Urbanism as a Way of Life. Wirth writes, The superficiality, the anonymity, and the transitory character of urban social relations make intelligible, also, the sophistication and the rationality generally ascribed to city dwellers. (Metropolis, 68) Both Wirth and Simmel are aware that the social relationships of city dwellers are ones based on intelligence and rationality and are removed of emotion. However, with Wirth, I would like to focus on his idea that a city is not only high in population, but it is also high density and high heterogeneity and how these things play a role in the social relationships of rural and urban communities. First, I would like to look at the competition levels between city dwellers and people in rural communities. The high population and high density play a huge role in the amount of competition that takes place in the city, compared to the amount that takes place in rural communities. The sheer number of people and the relatively small area that they share cause the competition level to rise exponentially. Also, the lack of emotional connections between city ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The crux of Ronald Reagan s economic policy, the tax cuts, paved the road for success in the improvement of the economy. The promised effect of an increase in federal revenues and reduction in the cost of capital for America s private sector necessitated the lowering of marginal tax rates that occurred in Ronald Reagan s first term. The embodiment of these reductions and much of the credit for the economic rebound of the mid 1980s can be assigned to the Kemp Roth Tax Cut Act of 1981. Reagan s trickle down economics strategy held underpinnings in his belief that the nation s wealthiest individuals and captains of industry had been disincentivized to earn more money from the oppressive tax rates of his predecessors. Accordingly, Kemp Roth cut the top tax rate from 70% to 50% as recognition of the disproportionate financial capability of the nation s top earners to reintroduce prosperity. Additionally, Kemp Roth provided benefits to the affluent by increasing the estate tax exemption from $175,000 to $600,000 and by increasing deductions therein to further circumvent the re taxation of hereditary wealth. While Reagan entrusted the top tax bracket with the responsibility of spending these funds as part of his plan to end the prolonged period of unemployment, Reagan also included provisions in the Kemp Roth Tax Cut that affected all workers by removing ...
