Essay on Business Marketing
Examine the nature of the distinctive managerial, organisational and developmental characteristics
of small businesses vis Г vis well resourced large companies. What are the implications of such
distinctiveness for small businesses attempting to achieve sustained growth?
Entrepreneur is someone who takes a risk and initiates to take up an opportunity in the market for
any goods or service to be sold to the consumers. All decisions are made by the entrepreneur as he
is the risk taker and this obviously involves people working under him for example managers. All
the capital is raised, decisions are made by the entrepreneur and business activities are monitored by
the owners itself. As Bolton(1971) describes in his report small ... Show more content on

Branson had earned enough money from his record shop to buy a country estate, in which he
installed a recording studio. He leased out studio time to fledgling artists, including multi
instrumentalist Mike Oldfield and controversial bands like the Sex Pistols, whom other companies
were reluctant to sign. Virgin Records won praise for exposing the public to obscure avant garde
music, but Branson sold the Virgin label to EMI in 1992, to help fund his airline company.
Branson had formed Virgin Atlantic Airwaysin 1984, and he went on to launch Virgin Trains in
1997, Virgin Mobile in 1999, and Virgin Blue in Australia in 2000. Branson continues to launch new

Sharia In Canad The Pitfalls Of Diversity
Islam is now the second most practiced religion in Canada, only behind Catholicism. Approximately
one million people living in Canada identify as Muslim, making it one of the largest minority
groups within Canada. Internationally, Canada can be identified as a multicultural country, known
for its diversity of population and for its policies which enforce toleration for those living within
Canada. The film Sharia in Canada The Pitfalls of Diversity explores the debates around allowing
for Sharia law to exist as a legitimate law form within Canada. This is a point of contention
throughout various groups of people in Canada. In the 1990s, the idea to first introduce sharia law
in Canadian society was presented. Sharia law is the rules outlined... Show more content on

However, with the emergence of multicultural policy, some difficulties have developed in the
attempt to in place these policies. The challenges which have emerged include the problem of how
to properly categorize minorities, the problem of conditions and sequencing, and the relationship
between justice and security, (Kymlicka, 2013, pp. 8 9). Examining the relationship between justice
and security, the question of to what extent should minority rights be preserved, and what risks are
worth taking is brought forward, (Kymlicka, 2013, p. 9). Putting Sharia law into practice is
controversial because while it follows multicultural, the practice also differentiates from Canadian
law, and puts some Canadians at

Unit 25 Structure of the TV and Video Industry
Unit 25: Television and Video Production
Structure of the TV Industry
This essay will focus on the structure of the channels the BBC and ITV, which will give the reader
an understanding of the structure of the television and video industry in the UK. This essay will be
split up into three parts; the details of ownership and income, systems and technologies, and their
regulations as well as discussing the success of both companies.
Details of Ownership and Income
In the television sector, there are one of two types of broadcasters; commercial and public service
broadcasters. A public service broadcaster is a non profit public television network. An example of
this sort of TV channel would be the BBC which is run by John Reith ... Show more content on

limitations. It will then offer more space as analogue takes up about a third of the spectrum
which can also be used to increase signal reach in some areas and also make room for new
services too. As well as this, it will give viewers a wider variety of channels to watch and reduce
costs for broadcasters that would have had to pay more to transmit services in both formats. The
downsides of the switching off analogue will mostly affect homes in the UK as they will be the
people who will have to start paying for different means of watching TV. As well as affecting
domestic settings, they will also be affecting non domestic settings such as hospital s and TV
rental businesses who rely on analogue TV. Having to make the switch from analogue to digital
will be difficult in hospitals as they will not only need new TV sets, but will also have to pay for
new Freeview TV set top boxes for their patients. It also means that TV rental businesses will not
be able to provide analogue TV s anymore as they will have no use, cutting back their income.
As well as this, some areas may even need new roof top aerials installed, totalling up to a large
sum of money to make the switch. As Digital televisions such as Freeview offer a handful of more
channels, but require a one off payment. There is also satellite which is currently the most popular
type of TV broadcasting, with services such as Sky

Book Summary of the Use and Abuse of Biology
Part 1
Marshall Sahlins is one of the most prominent American anthropologists of our time. He holds the
title of Charles F. Grey Distinguished Service Professor of Anthropology at the University of
Chicago where he presently teaches. Marshall Sahlins , The Use and Abuse of Biology, is an
excellent text, which attacks both the logical errors of sociobiology and its ideological distortions.
His work focuses on demonstrating the power that culture has to shape people s perceptions and
actions and that culture has a unique power to motivate people, which is not derived from biology or
for that matter any other of the natural sciences. In the text, The Use And Abuse of Biology, Sahlins

30). Sahlins gives mathematical formulas for kin loss contingent on the total number of descent
groups and the actual rule of intermarriage between them. The author argues that biological
inheritance is not an individual function, as a child does not receive his or her genetic makeup from
either his or her parents. Furthermore, the matrilineal descent group is a single entity in an organic
heritage: these members of that particular group according to mathematical formulation have a co
efficient relationship of 1.
Sahlins also argues that the structure of social interest is not constituted by genetic factors of an
individual nature. Yet, the theory of kinshipdominates a large portion of the text and he explores
kin selection. This theory of kin selection has been tested in Polynesia. The advantages of testing
for kin selection in Polynesia are best put forward for these following reasons. First, Polynesian
societies can afford structural conditions favorable for the operation of kin selection. Second,
descent is bilaterally reckoned and Polynesians are renowned for the value the race as a whole
attaches to genealogies. He explains that this formula is important as it accounts for altruism and a
whole collection of socially undesirable behaviors. Behaviors that individuals often cannot abide are
displayed by significant others in our communities such as greed or ingratitude or selfishness. These

is ready to analyze two different possibilities to privatize itself.Denhardt Denhardt (2015) the

This specific measure could provide efficient services to the city like in the case of Sandy
Springs. The city of Sandy Springs has successfully incorporated in 2005 to a company named
CH2 HILL .As a result the city of Sandy Springs does not have current liabilities and its services
have met standards of efficiency. Based on that premise the contractor has overseen the process
and that the bids with subcontractors were essentially offering prime services. Furthermore, CH2
Hill has also implemented a system where customer service hot lines is offered 24/7 and
complaints were resolved and address accordingly without any red tape (ReasonTV,2011). Having
the example of Sandy Spring it is evident that the premise of contracting a company to take over
the subcontractors hiring as well as all services provided should be the best case scenario to take
advantage of the privatization model

The White Owl
The White Owl
I know you. I know who you are. What you are...
The voice was the same that had appeared in his dreams a week ago. The words were growing
inside Warrior s head. The speech was deep and faint at the beginning, but now it s clear, loud and
without harsh, elusive tone. As the voice spoke again, a gigantic foggy presence rose inside his
mind, filling, overwhelming his senses with the oversized image of White Owl.
Will you join me? Will you help me? Do you know your father?
The Warrior did not answer at all, not through the speech, not even in his thoughts. He had felt the
call from the creature as clean, honest and welcoming warm invitation, to let him know that this
being was looking forward to see him soon.
Do you know your mother, or any of your brothers? Do you really know who you are?
But there was more to it, just a hint between the questions, existence of truth and weary sorrow in
the same time, filled with love, compassion and an enormous power. There were not any violent,
hostile, menacing or intimidating feelings hidden behind the speech.
Do you want to know? Or you wish to live all your life in denial, deception and lies?!
The gloomy manifestation of White Owl had withdrawn from his mind, once again, leaving The
Warrior solely with his own thoughts. He woke up from this vision with a feeling of been watched.
In the midst of his hut the presence of large animal, The Gray Wolf, filled him with alarming
instincts, flashing surprise and healthy energy

adults disappeared, kids began to develop powers that could prove to be deadly. Food is running

When Sam sends kids to retrieve food that was left in the agricultural fields, worms named Zekes

Finally, when in battle Sam never shows of defeat or fear as it would worry the children and allow
for them to lose hope in the situation. When Caine had taken over the power plant, the book stated,
I have the power plant, that s obvious, Caine said. Stupid of you to lose it, Sam. Sam had no
answer to that (Grant 322). This shows that even though Sam had lost control of the vital power
plant that they had been fighting for, he did not respond with helplessness. He held his ground
by not giving into the fear that Caine had wished to be spelled upon him and his army of
children. The children were not able to feel this fear because they felt if Sam stayed strong the
rest would follow. Not only is Sam courageous, he is also a leader. First, when electing a personto
be in charge of Perdido Beach kids generally looked to Sam to be the mayor. This is because before
the FAYZ, Sam was known as School Bus Sam since he saved peoples lives when a school bus
that he was on crashed. His ability to act quickly and make decisions that other people would
find to be too difficult makes him a good leader. Also, Sam acts like a leader in that he wants to
be a good role model to the kids of the town. He believes that if he wants people to follow his
order he must first do what he orders of other people. When Astrid delivered news that kids were
killing animals, the book states, If he started blowing off his duties,

The question for the courts was does this follow the rules of evidentiary collection and was the

Volvo, Motorola, Ericsson, and Siemens have come to understand how dispersing authority of
decision making out to the field organization drives job satisfaction. (Schon, 2010, 99 118) Job
satisfaction drives productivity and process improvement. Process improvement cuts out waste.
Cutting out waste improves the bottom line. There is still a clear disconnect with the goals and

struggle without support from all levels of management. A deployment champion has a duty to
make sure that projects align with high level goals in order to gain support from management.

Hawaii is the southernmost state of the United States, and the westernmost after Alaska. It is also,

The Importance Of Public Transportation
1.Tuesday, September 26, 2017 Today I took the SEPTA regional rail to work this morning.
While walking down the row of seats I found myself searching for the seat without trash, or holes
in the seat. While on my train ride I noticed by surroundings. The vast amount of different people
on the train amazed me. There was an elderly gentleman on my right, and in the seat in front of me
was a man who did not have the most pleasant scent. Noticing people eating, coughing, or sleeping
and drooling on the window I quickly came to the realization of how many germs are on this train.
Things such as public transportplay a role in public healthsignificantly. With all of the germs on
public transportation people can pick up things easily. For example, the measles outbreak that was
in Disney World, could be picked up through public transportation. People touching poles, seats,
could pose the risk of spreading many communicable diseases. I personally do not believe that
public transportation does a great job in the sanitation department. However, on the flip side public
transportation is also beneficial to public health. According to the APHA people located near major
highways and road ways have an increase in respiratory illness due to the amount of pollution.
Therefore, by taking public transportation such as the train, or subway this reduces the amount of
pollution causes by cars, trucks, and other vehicles on the road.

Suicide Among Young Rural Women
Suicide is a universal phenomenon that has deep and extensive implications for the overall
wellbeing of a community. Not only is suicide a tragic personal and societal loss, but suicide rates
can also serve as an index of underlying societal problems, such as sources of oppression and lack
of social support. Exhibiting several interesting suicidetrends, China is a country that provides
ample opportunity for investigating the problem of suicide and its causes. There are observed
Western patterns of urban, male, and mentally ill populations being at greater risk for suicide trends
that are challenged by the reversed patterns of suicide in China, where youth, female gender, and
rural residence are a potentially lethal combination .1 The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, in Western societies, suicide is 3 times more prevalent in urban than in rural areas2, 3
5 times more prevalent in males than in females when measured through completion rates (though
attempt rates are higher among females)3, and 9 times more often associated with mental illness
than not.1 The explanations for these trends draw on psychological and sociological theories: it has
been hypothesized that men are more likely than women to use lethal means of attempting suicide,
and that the economic hardship, unemployment, and social disintegration that afflict city life make
suicide a greater problem in urban than in rural areas.4 In China, however, the trends regarding
gender, urban status, and mental health are surprisingly reversed: rural suicides outnumber urban
suicides by a 3:1 ratio, female suicides outnumber male suicides by a 3:1 ratio, and as few as 40%
of suicides are accompanied by mental illness.5
The Western perspective is accustomed to viewing suicide as intrinsically linked to mental health
conditions such as depression, and thus often examines suicide by considering individual

Persons and Others Essay examples
CAITLYN DALY
The essay Persons and Others written by Lorraine Code reviews and responds to specific issues
and details in the novel As We Are Now by May Sarton. As We Are Now is a novel about the
struggles the elderly face when that time comes. The story is told from Miss Caro Spencer s
point of view, beginning when she is brought and left at a mediocre nursing home for the elderly.
She tells about hardships of growing old from the mental, emotional and physical troubles. Caro is
forced to stay at Twin Elms nursing home by her older brother John and his much younger wife
Ginny, this is her only family and she feels some what betrayed by them. Her caretakers at Twin
Elm are awful and treat her horribly as she explains through out the ... Show more content on

The women refer to the people in their care as nothing more than poor things , as if they aren t
people but merely objects; and Code recognizes that by objectifying these old people the caretakers
saying that they are worth nothing. As stated by Code on page 4 Treating a personas little more than
an object, in its cognitive dimension, implies acknowledging no significant differences between
such a person and an ordinary, everyday object , what I get from this is that the women who run
the nursing home and those who objectify any person are completely ignorant. Before you can
judge and objectify, though you really should never objectify people, you need to truly know a
person and understand who they are and where they came from; a treatment that Caro s caretakers
never gave her or any other guest in their nursing home. Code explains through Kantian s
formulation that one must always treat with humanity and that there are different levels of
knowing other people. It takes time to truly know some one and if we just give time to
understand people we could treat them much better and more appropriately. These two women
who run Twin Elms have put themselves in this position and portray themselves as responsible
women who can be trusted with old, senile, and overall vulnerable people. Code believes the best
way to care for these type of old people is sympathetically and compassionately; as we would want
to be treated

ATP And Creatine ATP As The Energy Currency Of Life
Energy System
What is ATP?
ATP is often referred to as the energy currency of life. The body s cells use a special form of energy
called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to power almost all their activities, such as muscle contraction,
protein construction, transportation of substrates, communication with other cells, activating heat
control mechanisms, and dismantling damaged and unused structures. It is the high energy
molecule that stores the energy we need to do have for just about everything we do. It is present
in the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm of every cell, and essentially all the physiological mechanisms
that require energy for operation obtain it directly from the stored ATP. Whether it s during a 26
mile marathon run or one explosive movement like a tennis serve, skeletal muscle is powered by
one and only one compound, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) . However, the body stores only a
small quantity of this energy currency within the cells and its enough to power just a few seconds
of all out exercise for example a a explosive movement in a football match.
Phosphocreatine:
Amount of ATP produced ATP and creatine phosphate (or phosphocreatine, or PCr) make up the
ATP PCr system. it is the immediate energy system. Creatine phosphate (PCr) is a high energy
compound. When exercise intensity is high, or energy needs are instantaneous, creatine phosphate
stored in muscle is broken down to provide energy to make ATP. When the high energy bond in
PCr is broken, the energy it releases is used to resynthesise ATP.
Sports The muscles use the phosphocreatine energy system, also known as the anaerobic alactic
system, during the first 10 seconds of sustained muscle contraction. It is anaerobic because it doesn
t require oxygen to function. The energy system that powers muscle contraction uses ATP
adenosine triphosphate.
Recovery time Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) stores in the muscle last for approximately 2
seconds and the rest of ATP from Creatine Phosphate (CP) will continue until CP stores in the
muscles are depleted, approximately 4 to 6 seconds. This gives us around 5 to 8 seconds of ATP
production.
Anaerobic System:
Amount of ATP produced The anaerobic glycolytic system produces a lot of power, but

Allusions In O Brother Where Art Thou
Some movies have strong connections to famous books, epics, or myths. Often times, there will be
many strong allusions to different epics, but there will be few weak allusions. In Joel and Ethan

the minor characters of The Odyssey,
O brother Where Art Thou has strong allusion with the minor characters of the Odyssey. For
example, in the movie, Everett and his men meet a blind traveler who tells them about their journey

named Tiresias. Tiresias tells them about the different issues occurring at home and how to reach

He also prayed to god. This shows a strong allusion to The Odyssey, as Odysseus faced a one eyed
cyclops named Polyphemus, who started eating his men. After Odysseus beat him, the cyclops

Where Art Thou, a man named Vernon was trying to marry Penny. When Everett saw this, he
started attacking Vernon. This shows an allusion to The Odyssey, as many suitors tried to marry
Penelope when Odysseus was gone. Once Odysseus came back, he started fighting with the other
suitors.
O brother Art Thou also has strong allusions with the plot of the Odyssey. For example, in the
movie O brother Where Art Thou, Delmar wanted to stay in the Baptist rive, because he was
attracted to the river and felt like he was relieved when he dipped his head. Everett, however,
forced Delmar to get out of the water and continue their journey. This shows an allusion to The
Odyssey, as Odysseus had to force his men away from the Lotus eaters. Some of his men ate lotus,
which made them relieved of their problems and want to stay there for the

Examples Of Rambling Autobiography
Rambling Autobiography Nicholas Hill My only memory of first grade is learning cursive and
having far worse handwriting than other classmates. Probably my favorite memory from
elementary school is recess and playing with friends. Middle school came around and was
probably the first time I was really nervous to go to school, but by the end I realized how fun it
was and all the trouble I got into. Before school every started for me I enjoyed playing outside
climbing trees. Every time fall came around I looked forward to jumping in piles of leaves,
carving pumpkins and halloween. In 8th grade I started skiing which is my favorite winter
hobby. The first time I went on a airplane was last year(2016) when we went to Florida then took
a cruise to the Bahamas. I m hate spiders and snakes especially big snakes and spiders. One of
my favorite memories as a child is when went on a short vacation in New Hampshire and stayed
in a really cool cabin with a stream behind it that made for the best sleep ever. Another time I
went to New Hampshire was with my Aunt and Uncle and we stayed in a house they own near
Hampton Beach, which was the first time I ever went to a big beach. In 6th grade my family
and my friends family went to the Damariscotta Lake State Park almost every day and had
barbecue chicken on the regular, along with hamburgers and hotdogs. We also went to the
majority of state parks in Maine because we got a state park pass book and there is a challenge in it

The Four Reasons Why Greed Is Harmful To Society
50 percent of Americans believe that being greedy leads to success. However, the other 50
percent of Americans believe that not being greedy causes one to prosper. (CBS 2017) We as
Americans, live in a time of having to choose between being ate or be eaten, and the difficulty of
these issues derives from the backbone of greed. Greed is clearly seen to be both a good thingand
bad thing, but should it really be seen as both? To begin with, according to Four Reasons Why
Greed Is Harmful to Society, greed effects a person s character and spiritual life leading to vices
that harm society and economy. (John Horvat, 2003. Being greedy effect one s character
through the assumption, that they are selfish. Being greedy also is also a result of bad
economy. Because CEO s and the amount they make compared to their workers, this clearly
displays an outline of greed. According to fortune, top CEOs make more than 300 times the
average worker. (Fortune, 2017) Just do the math. If the average CEO is making 300 more times
than the average worker, then what does this do to the workers? It drives them to leave their
jobs, which then makes an impact on our economy. With being materialistic comes many issues
aside from just simply being possessive. It s similar to a snowball effect in which being
possessive leads to bad character, to which then leads to less social interactions and finally causing
a miserable life. Not being greedy provides opportunity and better character, and

Inhumanities of Man
During a time of hardship and cruelty known as the French Revolution, the peasants rebelled

Dickens was set in the scary and difficult time period of the French Revolution. During this time,
the actions of man were inhumane and horrible. Innocent people were being killed without reason
and humans were being treated like animals. The theme of man s inhumanity towards his fellow

and may have never felt as though she had a home. She knows what love is, and that she feels it for

another stereotype. Sapphire illustrates this conviction by the line [l]isten baby, Muver love you.
Muver not dumb (Sapphire 66). Given that fuck is the only word spelled correctly in Precious
alphabet, it most likely has an important meaning in her life. Fuck, as an adjective is usually used
to express strong, often negative, emotion. Precious uses it frequently throughout both the
narrative and her journal entries, it is reasonable to assume she cannot easily express her
emotions, and therefore resorts to profanities. Fuck is not a word usually taught in school, and it
is unlikely that Precious parents taught her how to spell much of anything; therefore Precious
most likely learned how to spell the word from graffiti, which further illustrates the conditions in
which Precious grew up. Even though she has spelled nothing else in her alphabet correctly,
Precious knows how to spell fuck and how to use it correctly in all matters of speech. Sapphire
uses fuck to demonstrate Precious internalized negative emotions. Using fuck as a verb indicates
the act of having sex, though it is being expressed in a lewd manner. To say fucking rather

Chemical Test Paper
A. There a many different test that are chemical and physical that we could use for our soil
sample. One physical test that can be performed is a particle size distribution of a soil sample.
For this test, you get your sample of soil and place it in a jar. You then add water, a drop of soap,
and shake the jar. After a length of time the contents of soilwill develop into layers. You would
then see the makeup of your soil with sand being at the bottom, silt in the middle, and clay at the
top. You can then find the distribution of the soil and determine the soil texture. This soil test
could help a cooperative extension service to determine if they need to add more contents like
sand, silt, or clay so it will increase the growth of plants on that particular area where the soil is
growing. A chemical test that can be preformed is a PH test to get the acidity of the soil. You
test this by placing PH paper in soil concentration and the color change will indicate the PH of the
soil. The a high PH shows the level of the base while the low PH will show how acidic the soil is.
This is important to a recommendation because the PH can affect nutrients, minerals and growth....

Franz Marc Research Paper
In the early 1900 s both realism and abstractionism formed important parts of America s artistic
culture. The goal of the artistic movement of Realism is accuracy and truth without illustrating
subject matter in an idealized manner. The goal of Abstractionism is an almost opposite
achievement in illustration. An accurate reproduction of the subject matter is not important; the
artist s rendering of the subject matter is expressed by relaying a core characteristic with emotions
and feelings by use of color and form. Although these American artistic movements have
presentational differences, they share stylistic and subject similarities in technique and content.
Several of this era s artist s works illustrate these concepts. Soltes (2011) first touches upon

In gender advertisement, images are used to portray stereotypical gender roles. In this advert I
would briefly describe its and then I would do the analysis. The advertisement is for Huggies

particular genderagainst the other. The advert shows a father and his child. The attention of the
advert is to challenge the gender stereotypes because it shows a man who is taking care of the
child. The context of the advert is to show that the father is responsible for taking care of the
child which is strange because mother is usually take care of children. Most of the ads associated
with childcare prefers women so it is not common to see a man taking care of a child. The whole
point of the is that the company us trying to say that father is also responsible for taking care for

Layout and Color:
Going through the image and analyzing the layout of its whole, there are three major part off
the image. The father, the child who is siting on his father shoulder and the text which is printed
on the top and in the button. The text is white written on a red different graphic shape center in
the middle of the advert. The image was taken in the living room from the light seems that it is

background of the image that is polarized. Moving towards the child looks excited and happy as
well as his father is enjoying the moment after getting back from work. There is no empty space

Native Language And American Culture
I was born and raised in America, my native language is English, I love rock music and American

Hispanic American. My parents were born and raised in El Salvador, I have only been there
once when I was younger and I remember it like it was yesterday. I was hit with a bit of culture
shock because there were things I was not used to. As a kid, my Spanish was not that great so
being in a country where everyone speaks perfect Spanish and little to no English was difficult.
If we wanted to ride the bus it would not come to a full stop instead you would have to hop on

opposite. Some Americans create these stereotypes about Hispanics saying that we are all lazy, are

Freudian Theory In The Film Inception
1. Throughout the movie Inception, Christopher Nolan utilizes the Freudian Theory to explain the
many experiences Cobb has within his dreams. The most prominent exemplification of this theory
is Cobb repeatedly seeing a subconscious projection of his wife, Mal, within his dreams. After Mal
committed suicide by perceiving herself in an altered state of conscious (a dream) as she was
attempting to wake up from it; Cobb s guilt of causing her accidental death by performing
inception on her led him to flee his children and abandon his previous life in search of a way to
clear his tainted memories.
Despite these attempts, Cobb s guilt infiltrated its way into his own subconscious and projected
itself in his dreams. The Freudian Theory on Dreaming, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The feelings of unfulfilled desires Cobb has are clearly portrayed by the visions of his children that
he abandoned (not entirely thanks to the help of Professor Miles).
The movie Inception portrays the states of consciousness by using the totems the characters had
created to differentiate their altered states of conscious (dreams) from their conscious. Cobb s
totem was a wedding ring that he would be wearing while dreaming and not when not dreaming.
The final scene left off for open interpretation as it did not portray the state of conscious Cobb
was in, as his wife s totem (a spinning top) was not revealed to have toppled (as it does in reality)
or continued spinning (as it does in his dreams).
2. The movie Inception explains how our mind constructs dreams from subconscious thought
processes that are fueled with hopes and ideas for what we our life to be (what Disney defines as
dreams ). An example the construction of a reality within a dream would be The city Limbo that
Cobb and Mal both created together while undergoing inception. Limbo was Cobb and Mal s ideal
world in which they would use figments of their past experiences from reality (Mal s childhood
home) to construct a subconscious

If you work for a company and are employed on a part time basis, beware! Due to mandates going
into force by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for employers, anyone working less
than 30 hours most likely is going to go without health benefits at some point. PPACA, originally
proposed as a way to help control health care costs, quickly morphed into a vehicle to control the
insurance market. Regardless of your political bent, the end result of PPACA is that millions of
employees are losing their insurance coverage. What the @% #!!!
Many part timers are facing a double whammy from President Obama s health care reform. The law
requires large employers offering health insurance to include part time employees working 30
hours a week or more. But rather than provide health care to more workers, a growing number of
employers are cutting back employee hours instead. The result: Not only will these workers earn
less money, but they ll also miss out on health insurance at work.
Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of other hourly workers may also see smaller paychecks
in the coming year because of this response to PPACA. The law exempts businesses with fewer
than 50 full time workers from this requirement to provide benefits. But big restaurant chains,
retailers, and movie theaters are starting to trim employee hours. Even colleges are reducing
courses for part time professors to keep their hours down and avoid paying for their health
premiums.

Why Is Levi Coffin Considered An Abolitionist
Levi Coffin was a well known abolitionist, and a very important individual to the success of the
Underground Railroad. Dictionary.com describes an abolitionist as a person who tries to stop
or get rid of any law or practice that is harmful to the society ( Abolitionist ). Levi Coffin was that
and much more. He and most of the people involved in the Quaker religion believed that all men
were equal and it was his divine purpose to do everything in his power to help. Levi took it a bit
further than most. He was exposed to slavery at a young age and was taught by his family not to
support it; he took those teachings and applied them to various stages of his life; including his
young adulthood, marriage and retirement (Ludwig). Levi Coffin... Show more content on

Later the masters of the slaves, that were attending, began to oppose the school and it was then
liquidated (Powell). Shortly after in 1822 Levi followed his brother in law Benjamin White to
Indiana. The persecution of Quakers had become unbearable in the Southern Territories. He lived
with Mr. White for about a year and then returned to North Carolina. He was convinced that
Quakers and slavery could not coexist and decided that he himself would move to Indiana ( Levi
Coffin , Wikipedia).

In 1824, Coffin married Catherine White at the Hopewell Church in Guildford County. Four years
later in 1826 they moved to Newport, Indiana, which is now Fountain city (Powell). The couple s
move to Indiana was postponed when Catherine became pregnant with their first child, Jesse, the
first of six children to come. The Coffins opened a general store and Levi became a prosperous
business man. Soon after the family had relocated in Newport, they discovered they were on the
path of the Underground Railroad. The fugitives using the Underground Railroad generally stayed
with those colored people of the community and they more often than not did not reach their
destination. (Coffin) Levi Coffin was quoted in his book,

Essay On Pulmonary Contusion
Pulmonary Contusion
A pulmonary contusion is a deep bruise to the tissues of the lung. The lungs bring oxygen into the
bloodstream and remove carbon dioxide that the body cannot use. A pulmonary contusion causes
the lung tissue to swell and bleed into the surrounding area. This interferes with the ability of the
lungs to function. You may feel short of breath because you are not getting enough oxygen.
CAUSES
This condition is usually caused by a chest injury, such as an injury from:
A car crash.
A severe fall, especially from a high height.
Being near an explosion.
A sports injury.
A crush injury, such as from industrial or farming machinery.
A physical assault, especially if struck in the chest with a blunt object.
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may be needed if you have difficulty breathing and have low blood oxygen. In severe cases,
you may need to have a tube placed in your throat and a machine (ventilator) to help with breathing.
Surgery if a blood vessel continues to bleed uncontrollably or if the lung has been punctured.
Initial treatment for this condition is often given in an emergency department.
HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Take medicines only as told by your health care provider. Do not take aspirin for the first few days,
because this may increase bruising.
Continue to do deep breathing exercises. Use an incentive spirometer for deep breathing exercises
as told by your health care provider.
Return to your normal activities only as told by your health care provider. Talk to your health care
provider about:
в—‹ What activities are safe for you.
в—‹ When you can return to driving, work, school, and sports.
Keep all follow up visits as told by your health care provider. This is important.
SEEK MEDICAL CARE IF:
You have shaking chills.
You cough up mucus.
SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE IF:
You have difficulty breathing and it is getting worse.
Your chest pain gets worse.

The New Deal And Social Security Act Of 1935 Essay
Poverty, Rehabilitation, and Legislation: The New Deal and Social Security Act of 1935.
Jacquelyn R. Ward
United States History II: 1865 Present
September 27, 2016 After the Great Depression, many Americans were left disheveled. They
needed some form of financial assistance to help them get their lives back to normal. Many
government officials such as Hurbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt helped to enact bills and
programs that would assist Americans in rehabilitating their lives. The amount of unemployed
workers, the economic relief for retired workers, and the creation of legislature directed towards
financial stability all illustrate that the most important effects that the New Deal legislation had on
the American government was a liberal one..
The Great Depression left the American banking system in shambles and left the American
people broken and scared for their futures. There were several causes that led up to the enactment
of the New Deal and the Social Security Act. A major cause was Black Tuesday. This was the
largest stock market crash in U.S. history that took place on October 29, 1929. The crash
happened because wealthy Americans used their revenue to speculate in real estate and the stock
market rather than invest in new businesses. Another cause was U.S. banks issuing loans and
credits to foreign governments in the amount of billions of dollars. Prior to the Great Depression
and the enactment of the FERA, relief was based on the poor laws.

William Blake Research Paper
When we discuss Romantic poetry, William Blake is one of the forerunners of that literary
period. His two major poetical works include Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. In
both of these collections, there is a poem titled The Chimney Sweeper . In both of these poems,
we observe the innocence of childhood suffering from subjugation to harsh manual work. In the
concerned poems, two perspectives are given. First, the child is innocent and believes in
whatever his parents have told about the magnificence in the eyes of God of those who work. In
this manner, Blake portrays the way the innocence of little children was exploited by their parents
for a meager amount of money. Second, Blake questions and shows skepticism towards the
implied hypocrisy of his parents as they sold him to sweep chimneys and goes themselves to
church and pray to God. In this poem, Blake shows that the child has become aware of the ruthless
behavior of his parents, who sold him for money alone.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The father exploits the innocence of the child, sells him in chimney business, and consoles him
hypocritically with religious stories. Apart from the fact that this description throws light on the
sensibility of those times in which Blake wrote, it also shows the aspect of religion which is
employed for exploitation and forgery. As the child is innocent, he is willing to believe in any
story of angels and after life. On the one hand, it magnifies the innocence of childhood and on the
other hand, it shows the heartless indifference of the father to his own son. Overall, the villainous
character of the father in relation to his son can be observed in this pair of

Irony In The Screwtape Letters By C. S. Lewis
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a book made up of 31 letters of teaching, communication,
and familial advice communicated with the only two physical tempters in the book, Screwtape, the
mentor, and his young eager to learn nephew or mentee, Wormworth. Screwtape uses the letters to
aid him in influencing his nephew to do as he does in actions, thoughts, and in his work and
convinces him to follow the way of Satan, their Father and to follow in both Screwtape and the
Devils path. Wormworth s patient is a young male who has newly tried to connect with the Enemy ,
God. Screwtape uses very common flaws, some of which are, materialism, physical attraction, and
gluttony to try to draw him away from God, and brainwash him into believing all of his thoughts
and detesting all outside sources as much as he can.
The letters utilize reoccurring literary devices utilized throughout the letters, two of the most
prevalent are satire and irony. The Screwtape Letters are infused with Irony, through statements
that the readers see and comprehend as see as what is most commonly perceived in human
culture. Especially when the two refer to the person whom Wormworth is trying to assimilate to
his ways, as his patient when conventionally people think of a patient as someone you are trying
to help not hinder, in this case, as well as Screwtape referring to God as deceitful and disloyal
while he and Wormworth are not even loyal to one another, and followed the teachings of Satan,
the leader of deceit. He uses satire throughout the entire format of the 31 letters. experienced devil

The Nineteenth letter opens many doors in learning the true characteristics of Screwtape. Up until
this point he has written his letters in a stern, friendly, and affectionate mentoring tone trying to
influence his protГ©gГ© Wormwood to do to his patient as Screwtape has done to his in the past.
But now in the nineteenth letter the readers are now enlightened to how synthetic his exchanges
have been thus far. This chapter reveals the true malicious nature of both Screwtape and
Wormwood, neither of them have any sense of loyalty to one another. Screwtape is especially

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo s The Immaculate Conception
Dear John, How are you doing, work and your family? I hope very thing is going pretty good. It
is my pleasure to use this opportunity to write to you and inform you on my experience about my
travel trip to Madrid Spain during the Easter holidays. Actually it was a great experience of a life
time, I visited so many places but the most important and interesting that I want to share with you
is my visit to the MUSEO NACIONAL DEL PRADO museum in Madrid, which I get to see The
Immaculate Conceptionartwork. It was created by a roman artist Tiepolo, Giambattista during 1769
1769 in RomeItaly. Which shows the Virgin Mary appears on the globe of the World and the
crescent Moon, stepping on the serpent of Original Sin and crowned by the Dove of the Holy
Ghost. She is surrounded by angels and by some of her customary symbols, including a spray of
lilies, a palm branch, a fountain and a mirror. The artist uses this scene to show the traditional
manner of representing the Virgin s Immaculate Conception, which occurred without Original
Sin. Although it was expensive but I really learn a lot and had a good time, the air ticket to
Madrid Spain was $1499, and I spent $1600 other expenses like local transport, food, gift and
hotel, which cost 658 EUR, that $ 912 for 2 night at $456 per night. A number of countries are
considered to be under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception by pontifical decree. These
include Argentina, Brazil, Ireland, Korea, Nicaragua, Nigeria,

The Change In Pixar s Toy Story
In 1995, a revolutionary motion picture hit the big screen changing cinematic history. It was
developed by Pixar and Disney who introduced us to the dynamic duo of a sheriff and a space
ranger. In Toy Story, Andy s family is preparing to move into a new home and the toys are
preparing for the change. Unknown to him or his parents, Andy s toys are actually alive. They
communicate and meet whenever humans are not present. The lead protagonist , a cowboy doll
named Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), takes the toys on a mission to discover what new additions
to the family are among the heap of Andy s birthday presents. The multitudes of gifts surround an
electronic Buzz Lightyear action figure (voiced by Tim Allen). The extravagant toy becomes the...

For example, when the main theme song You ve Got a Friend in Me is playing and the camera
is focusing on Andy and Woody playing together and smiling in many different settings. In
contrast to Strange Things and the scene where the appearance of Andy s room has changed,
covered in a dim blue shade and large stars mimicking outer space. This song shows Woody s
confusion and fear, not only regarding the change in his surroundings but also behavioral change
in his friends and his self confidence. The audience seems to feel the same sadness Woody does
when Buzz seemingly takes over Andy s room. The movie was not made into a musical due to the
simple fact that the characters personality does not fit singing. Also according to John Lasseter, the
film s director, Toy Storywas a buddy comedy, and inserting songs would feel inaccurate to the
genre, (Spiegel). This promoted the idea that not every animation needed to include singing from
the protagonists in order to be engaging. Toy Story effected the cinematic experience greatly which
can be seen through its vast success in the industry. It told a simple, yet effective story that appealed
to all ages and through impressive computer animation and thoughtful directing they were able to
create something that would be memorable for years to come. Its imagination and success inspired
other motion pictures which in turn created new filmic

What are the implications of such distinctiveness for small businesses attempting to achieve sustained growth? Entrepreneur is someone who takes a risk and initiates to take up an opportunity in the market for any goods or service to be sold to the consumers. All decisions are made by the entrepreneur as he is the risk taker and this obviously involves people working under him for example managers. The downsides of the switching off analogue will mostly affect homes in the UK as they will be the people who will have to start paying for different means of watching TV. Having to make the switch from analogue to digital will be difficult in hospitals as they will not only need new TV sets, but will also have to pay for new Freeview TV set top boxes for their patients. It also means that TV rental businesses will not be able to provide analogue TV s anymore as they will have no use, cutting back their income. As well as this, some areas may even need new roof top aerials installed, totalling up to a large sum of money to make the switch. Marshall Sahlins , The Use and Abuse of Biology, is an excellent text, which attacks both the logical errors of sociobiology and its ideological distortions. His work focuses on demonstrating the power that culture has to shape people s perceptions and actions and that culture has a unique power to motivate people, which is not derived from biology or for that matter any other of the natural sciences. Sahlins gives mathematical formulas for kin loss contingent on the total number of descent groups and the actual rule of intermarriage between them. The author argues that biological inheritance is not an individual function, as a child does not receive his or her genetic makeup from either his or her parents. Furthermore, the matrilineal descent group is a single entity in an organic heritage: these members of that particular group according to mathematical formulation have a co efficient relationship of 1. Sahlins also argues that the structure of social interest is not constituted by genetic factors of an individual nature. Yet, the theory of kinshipdominates a large portion of the text and he explores kin selection. This theory of kin selection has been tested in Polynesia. The advantages of testing for kin selection in Polynesia are best put forward for these following reasons. First, Polynesian societies can afford structural conditions favorable for the operation of kin selection. Second, descent is bilaterally reckoned and Polynesians are renowned for the value the race as a whole attaches to genealogies. He explains that this formula is important as it accounts for altruism and a whole collection of socially undesirable behaviors. Behaviors that individuals often cannot abide are displayed by significant others in our communities such as greed or ingratitude or selfishness. These negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the unique patterns of suicide seen in China require an examination of suicide not only from a mental health perspective, but also from an anthropological perspective that is sensitive to social stressors, not just ... Persons and Others Essay examples CAITLYN DALY The essay Persons and Others written by Lorraine Code reviews and responds to specific issues and details in the novel As We Are Now by May Sarton. As We Are Now is a novel about the struggles the elderly face when that time comes. The story is told from Miss Caro Spencer s point of view, beginning when she is brought and left at a mediocre nursing home for the elderly. She tells about hardships of growing old from the mental, emotional and physical troubles. As stated by Code on page 4 Treating a personas little more than an object, in its cognitive dimension, implies acknowledging no significant differences between such a person and an ordinary, everyday object , what I get from this is that the women who run the nursing home and those who objectify any person are completely ignorant. Before you can judge and objectify, though you really should never objectify people, you need to truly know a person and understand who they are and where they came from; a treatment that Caro s caretakers never gave her or any other guest in their nursing home. Code explains through Kantian s formulation that one must always treat with humanity and that there are different levels of knowing other people. It takes time to truly know some one and if we just give time to understand people we could treat them much better and more appropriately. These two women who run Twin Elms have put themselves in this position and portray themselves as responsible women who can be trusted with old, senile, and overall vulnerable people. Code believes the best way to care for these type of old people is sympathetically and compassionately; as we would want to be treated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. ATP And Creatine ATP As The Energy Currency Of Life Energy System What is ATP? ATP is often referred to as the energy currency of life. The body s cells use a special form of energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to power almost all their activities, such as muscle contraction, protein construction, transportation of substrates, communication with other cells, activating heat control mechanisms, and dismantling damaged and unused structures. It is the high energy molecule that stores the energy we need to do have for just about everything we do. It is present in the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm of every cell, and essentially all the physiological mechanisms that require energy for operation obtain it directly from the stored ATP. Whether it s during a 26 mile marathon run or one explosive movement like a tennis serve, skeletal muscle is powered by one and only one compound, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) . However, the body stores only a small quantity of this energy currency within the cells and its enough to power just a few seconds of all out exercise for example a a explosive movement in a football match. Phosphocreatine: Amount of ATP produced ATP and creatine phosphate (or phosphocreatine, or PCr) make up the ATP PCr system. it is the immediate energy system. Creatine phosphate (PCr) is a high energy compound. When exercise intensity is high, or energy needs are instantaneous, creatine phosphate stored in muscle is broken down to provide energy to make ATP. When the high energy bond in PCr is broken, the energy it releases is used to resynthesise ATP. Sports The muscles use the phosphocreatine energy system, also known as the anaerobic alactic system, during the first 10 seconds of sustained muscle contraction. It is anaerobic because it doesn t require oxygen to function. The energy system that powers muscle contraction uses ATP adenosine triphosphate. Recovery time Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) stores in the muscle last for approximately 2 seconds and the rest of ATP from Creatine Phosphate (CP) will continue until CP stores in the muscles are depleted, approximately 4 to 6 seconds. This gives us around 5 to 8 seconds of ATP production. Anaerobic System: Amount of ATP produced The anaerobic glycolytic system produces a lot of power, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Greed is clearly seen to be both a good thingand bad thing, but should it really be seen as both? To begin with, according to Four Reasons Why Greed Is Harmful to Society, greed effects a person s character and spiritual life leading to vices that harm society and economy. (John Horvat, 2003. It drives them to leave their jobs, which then makes an impact on our economy. With being materialistic comes many issues aside from just simply being possessive. One physical test that can be performed is a particle size distribution of a soil sample. For this test, you get your sample of soil and place it in a jar. You then add water, a drop of soap, and shake the jar. After a length of time the contents of soilwill develop into layers. You would then see the makeup of your soil with sand being at the bottom, silt in the middle, and clay at the top. You can then find the distribution of the soil and determine the soil texture. This soil test could help a cooperative extension service to determine if they need to add more contents like sand, silt, or clay so it will increase the growth of plants on that particular area where the soil is growing. A chemical test that can be preformed is a PH test to get the acidity of the soil. You test this by placing PH paper in soil concentration and the color change will indicate the PH of the soil. • 37. Affordable Care Act For Employers If you work for a company and are employed on a part time basis, beware! Due to mandates going into force by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for employers, anyone working less than 30 hours most likely is going to go without health benefits at some point. PPACA, originally proposed as a way to help control health care costs, quickly morphed into a vehicle to control the insurance market. Regardless of your political bent, the end result of PPACA is that millions of employees are losing their insurance coverage. What the @% #!!! Many part timers are facing a double whammy from President Obama s health care reform. The law requires large employers offering health insurance to include part time employees working 30 hours a week or more. But rather than provide health care to more workers, a growing number of employers are cutting back employee hours instead. The result: Not only will these workers earn less money, but they ll also miss out on health insurance at work. Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of other hourly workers may also see smaller paychecks in the coming year because of this response to PPACA. The law exempts businesses with fewer than 50 full time workers from this requirement to provide benefits. But big restaurant chains, retailers, and movie theaters are starting to trim employee hours. Even colleges are reducing courses for part time professors to keep their hours down and avoid paying for their health premiums. Overall, an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ward United States History II: 1865 Present September 27, 2016 After the Great Depression, many Americans were left disheveled. They needed some form of financial assistance to help them get their lives back to normal. Many government officials such as Hurbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt helped to enact bills and programs that would assist Americans in rehabilitating their lives. The amount of unemployed workers, the economic relief for retired workers, and the creation of legislature directed towards financial stability all illustrate that the most important effects that the New Deal legislation had on the American government was a liberal one.. The Great Depression left the American banking system in shambles and left the American people broken and scared for their futures. There were several causes that led up to the enactment of the New Deal and the Social Security Act. A major cause was Black Tuesday. This was the largest stock market crash in U.S. history that took place on October 29, 1929. The crash happened because wealthy Americans used their revenue to speculate in real estate and the stock market rather than invest in new businesses. Another cause was U.S. banks issuing loans and credits to foreign governments in the amount of billions of dollars. Prior to the Great Depression and the enactment of the FERA, relief was based on the poor laws. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. William Blake Research Paper When we discuss Romantic poetry, William Blake is one of the forerunners of that literary period. His two major poetical works include Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. In both of these collections, there is a poem titled The Chimney Sweeper . In both of these poems, we observe the innocence of childhood suffering from subjugation to harsh manual work. In the concerned poems, two perspectives are given. First, the child is innocent and believes in whatever his parents have told about the magnificence in the eyes of God of those who work. In this manner, Blake portrays the way the innocence of little children was exploited by their parents for a meager amount of money. Second, Blake questions and shows skepticism towards the implied hypocrisy of his parents as they sold him to sweep chimneys and goes themselves to church and pray to God. In this poem, Blake shows that the child has become aware of the ruthless behavior of his parents, who sold him for money alone.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The father exploits the innocence of the child, sells him in chimney business, and consoles him hypocritically with religious stories. Apart from the fact that this description throws light on the sensibility of those times in which Blake wrote, it also shows the aspect of religion which is employed for exploitation and forgery. As the child is innocent, he is willing to believe in any story of angels and after life. On the one hand, it magnifies the innocence of childhood and on the other hand, it shows the heartless indifference of the father to his own son. It is my pleasure to use this opportunity to write to you and inform you on my experience about my travel trip to Madrid Spain during the Easter holidays. Actually it was a great experience of a life time, I visited so many places but the most important and interesting that I want to share with you is my visit to the MUSEO NACIONAL DEL PRADO museum in Madrid, which I get to see The Immaculate Conceptionartwork. It was created by a roman artist Tiepolo, Giambattista during 1769 1769 in RomeItaly. Which shows the Virgin Mary appears on the globe of the World and the crescent Moon, stepping on the serpent of Original Sin and crowned by the Dove of the Holy Ghost. She is surrounded by angels and by some of her customary symbols, including a spray of lilies, a palm branch, a fountain and a mirror. The artist uses this scene to show the traditional manner of representing the Virgin s Immaculate Conception, which occurred without Original Sin. Although it was expensive but I really learn a lot and had a good time, the air ticket to Madrid Spain was $1499, and I spent $1600 other expenses like local transport, food, gift and hotel, which cost 658 EUR, that $ 912 for 2 night at $456 per night. A number of countries are considered to be under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception by pontifical decree. These include Argentina, Brazil, Ireland, Korea, Nicaragua, Nigeria, ... The movie was not made into a musical due to the simple fact that the characters personality does not fit singing. Also according to John Lasseter, the film s director, Toy Storywas a buddy comedy, and inserting songs would feel inaccurate to the genre, (Spiegel). This promoted the idea that not every animation needed to include singing from the protagonists in order to be engaging. Toy Story effected the cinematic experience greatly which can be seen through its vast success in the industry.
