Accountability in the Army Essay
The US Army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being
dependable; arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place
at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most imprtant
formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and to put out any information
that needs to be addressed. Without having accountability there is no way of knowing where
soldiers are or whats going on. Not only does accountability matter in formation, but it is also
imperative to have accountability if all of your weapons and sensitive items. What is

It does not look well on them if they can not complete this task. This actually shows thats the
soldier can t be depended on when they are needed. This also hurts them when they are being
looked at for promotions or any favorable actions. As a soldier you want to always make a great
impression on your leaders, and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable to them. It
would make things run alot smootherif everyone was on time all of the time. If no one was at
the right place at the right time, it would set what ever mission you have back. It also makes a
negative impact on your leadership. However, I also feel that as leaders, they should also realize
that things may happen with the soldiers. Whether its being late to formation, missing an
appointment due to some circumstance, as long as the soldier doesn t make it a habbit then
forgiveness should be granted on that instance. Also you want to use this duty in your personal
life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality we use as soldiers,
but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable
anywhere. This should be the easiest task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct
this issue if it is a continuous problem. You can recieve a negative counseling statement, Article 15
or even a Court Martial and discharged from military service. Plus, with an Article 15 you

The short half life of this isotope means that radiation levels reduce quickly. High density shielding
material should be used when storing F 18 but this is impractical when handling the material. The
predominant radiation emitted is gamma rays. Therefore, field contamination monitors should use
sensitive gamma detectors.

The Pros And Cons Of Natural Resources
A Corporation can be defined as a legal creation, however the corporation itself, would only exist
on a piece of paper. A corporation will never die a natural death like humans die naturally, and
corporations will always outlive the individual who created it. With that said, the corporation itself
is never really committed to any employee or committed to any neighbor. However, a corporation
can always demand employees, a corporation can always demand taxes that are extremely high,
and a corporation can also restrict environmental laws. Corporations hold a great deal of power
in today s society. History has explained the fact that at one point in time, the earth s natural
resources had no limit. Raw materials were plenty, because of the fact that there were plenty of
natural resources to go around. Natural resources can be identified as the raw materials that
comes from the earth and are useful. Natural resources can never be made by humans. Athough,
these raw materials can be modified, or altered to benefit corporations and businesses. For
example, natural resources are fossil fuels like petroleum, natural gas, and coal. Minerals like
diamonds, gold, and copper are natural resources that come from the earth. Other resources are
known as natural vegetation, like forests and timber. Animals are our earth s natural resources as
well, like salmon, deer, whales, chickens, etc. The air we breathe, and the wind are all also natural
resources. Water, like lakes, rivers and

The s Reflection Of The Ancient Women
Queering Vivien s poem entails finding the elements of imitation, anonymity, and/or appropriation.
Two of these elements, anonymity and imitation are clear in Vivien s reflection of the ancient
women on Lesbos in herself. Imitation provides Vivien with a means of growing in sexuality, a
gaining of knowledge of the women of Lesbos s ways. The ancient Lesbians work as a template,
but suddenly become the same as the lesbians of Vivien s timereferred to as our (18). The result of
imitation is growing nearer toward the likeness of the ancient Lesbians. Vivien s body
metaphorically becomes a reflecting mirror, taking up all aspects of the ancient Lesbians. Vivien
and her lesbians go beyond queer imitation to a new form, the same form as the ancient Lesbians.
Vivien s group cannot be distinguished from the ancient Lesbians, since they all mirror one another.
Imitation renders Vivien s bodies queer and identical.
There is no singular body at any point only but our bodies. Anonymity then is also relevant to
Vivien s poem. One cannot differentiate between the present our bodies and ancient their bodies
either. No difference exists between them, as they are mirror images of each other. The bodies in
the poem are queer as they are both anonymous and imitated, yet simultaneously the bodies
transcend time. Bridging a long period of time (ancient Greece to 19th centure Britain) means
Vivien does not have a full picture of how these women of Lesbos lived. Imitating the past

Germans Essay
By the twentieth century over two million Germans have immigrated to the United States.
Regardless of where they settled they came from a multitude of areas and for a variety of reasons.
They were a highly diversified group in terms of regional origin, religious and political orientation,
education, and socioeconomic standing.
There were a multitude of push factors, or issues that caused Germans to want to leave Germany
from inside the country. One of those is that during the time of World War One, Germany s
government started having mandatory military service. This meant that any male over the age of
15 would either have to serve in Germany s military or they would have to leave the country.
Many people did not want to serve, and as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These railroads even kept free hotels. This was ideal for many immigrants because they usually
came into the country with barely any money. Another pull factor was that relativesand friends of
German natives who migrated first would write back and encourage others to follow. This led to
chain migrations .
We can see by looking at 4 census report where most of the Germans migrated to where they came
to New York. I found that the 1880 and 1920 were pretty similar. There were a few more counties
that increased but most stayed the same. I t wasn t until the 1960 census that things started really
changing. I also noticed that the 3 counties in upper New York: St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton
and Washington county which is located on the eastern side were always in the lowest percentile
through all 4 censuses, they never changed. Also after the 1920 census more Germans were living
in the NY City area then before. Also Erie County, which was the highest in the 1880 census, stayed
high throughout out all 4 censuses. From the first census to the last, it seems the trend for the most
counties with the highest German population were moving out toward western New York.
Looking at the 1880 census the county with the highest amount of German was Erie County. Why
was the county such a popular place to come? The Erie Canal had opened in 1825. It made
Western New York easily accessible from the Atlantic coast for the first time. For an immigrant

How Did Geography Shaped Mendocino
How geography shaped Mendocino Have you ever wondered how geography has shaped
Mendocino? Mendocinos geography, plants, and animals have been have been changing for
years on the Mendocino coast, even though you may not notice it, it still happens everywhere. It
s probably happening right now. Wind, water, the sun, our redwood trees, and the people who
came to the Mendocino coast have been shaping Mendocino for so long to make it where it is
today. Mendocino has been known for its beautiful coastline and the huge redwood trees. But
not only are they both beautiful attractions they both have their own history that impacted
Mendocino to make it is where it is today. Mendocino used to be a huge redwood logging town.
The loggers would cut down the redwoods and then put them in the rivers so they would float
down to the ocean where the trees would be put into boats and then sailed off to San Francisco
where they were building a whole new city because of the gold rush. Because Mendocino was
right along the ocean it was easy to trade because it was easy for the ships to come in. It also
helped with the logging and how they loaded them onto the boats. As you can see that the
redwoods played a big part in Mendocino... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have abalone many tourists come to dive, and because they come if benefits our inns here in

Nietzsche s View On The Existence Of God
This his view can be perceived that something in our mind or what we understand can exist as an
object in reality. Since people can think about God in their mind, God s existence should be
justified. Even though people do not understand the existence of God, God actually exists as long
as they can think of Godin their mind. When I started decoding his idea about the existenceof God,
it is hard to understand that God actually exists because I do not understand the existence of God.
However, because of his idea that something that which nothing greater can be thought and even if
he does not understand that it actually exists , I started wander the existence of God. Now I think

Legality Of The Use Of Cluster Munitions Essay
The Legality of the Use of Cluster Munitions
In order to establish the legality of the use of cluster munitions under international law, it is
necessary to look at the norms that regulate the means and methods of warfare. Article 35 (2) of the
First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention clearly states that: It is prohibited to employ
weapons, projectiles and material and methods of warfare of a nature to cause superfluous injury or
unnecessary suffering. Moreover, Article 48 claims that: ...the Parties to the conflict shall at all
times distinguish between the civilian population and combatants and between civilian objects and
military objectives and accordingly shall direct their operations only against military objectives ,

The most important document against these arms is the Convention on Cluster Munitions, signed
by 119 countries, which is a treaty and, thus, it is only binding for the member states. Among the 78
countries that do not take part in the Convention there is the United States, China, India, Pakistan,
Israel, Russia, Iran, Libya, and Saudi Arabia, meaning the countries that actually have or use these
kind of munitions.
Moreover, there is another document, the Protocol on Explosive Remnants of War, according to
which its member states are committed to clear up the attacked territory after the end of a conflict.
Many countries that did not sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions, such as the United States,
signed the Protocol. Therefore, these countries are committed to eliminate the suffering caused by
unexploded cluster munitions in attacked territories.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that the use of other types of controversial arms is not
prohibited under international law. For example, the International Court of Justice s advisory
opinion of 1996 claimed that the threat or use of nuclear weapons is not prohibited under
international law, even though it is extremely difficult to imagine a situation where the use of
nuclear weapons might respect the principles of distinction and proportionality and not inflicting
superfluous injuries or unnecessary

The Franchise Of A Franchise Essay
Franchises are across the world these days place like McDonalds,7eleven and Burger king have
been around for a while and will continue until the day the world dies. A franchise is a business
relationship in which a franchisor grants a license to another business a franchisee. To become a
Franchise is not an overnight task. Capital needs to be raised to purchase the franchise most
franchises can be up to one million dollars or more. After raising capital, a franchise can be

Zen Cultural Stereotypes
Most of the time when I am exploring a different environment, my coping skills used for this type
of endeavor require me to be patient, open minded, and self aware. As expressed earlier, I had to
leave my enclosed bubble and try something different from my normal routine, which in fact guided
me to a new path of consciousness.
My previous perceptions and stereotypes of the Zen culture was totally wrong. In my misguided
illusion, I had envisioned a rigid and closed pseudo philosophy, limited to just Asian culture and
martial arts; shrouded in mystery. I guess this was my first impression, especially since I grew up
watching a lot of martial arts movies during the early 80 s (Kung Fu theater, channel 5). In fact, the

Advantages Of Pesticides In Agriculture
M. Salman Anwar Research Proposal
Title:
BIODEGRADATION OF PESTICIDES IN SOIL ENVIRONMENT
Introduction:
Wise use and preservation of the soil recourses of a country can transform a poor society into a
prosperous one (Miller and Donahue 1992)
Agriculture is a key sector in the world economy where the competition between the countries is
of great importance in terms of the production. It also contributes about 25% of GDP of Pakistan
and provides livelihood directly to 70% of its rural population. In these conditions, pesticides are
commonly used to reach a definite quantity and quality of agricultural productions. Their
generalised use is attributed to (i) increase the quantitative and qualitative yields (ii) limit the
irregularities of crop production linked to the great parasitic catastrophe (iii) protect the food
reserves and many more. It has been estimated that about 3000 5000 tones of pesticides are used
predominately only in Cotton growing areas of Pakistan (ESCAP Virtual Conference June 16,
2007). According to a report of IFEN, pesticides are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Previous studies concerning the pesticide degradation highlighted the microbial degradation as a
primary mechanism of pesticide dissipation from the soils (Cox et al., 1996; Pieuchot et al., 1996).
Along with this degradation of pesticide, these micro organisms also perform many other beneficial
functions like decomposition of organic matter, release of certain enzymes and plant growth
regulators, with having no destructive impact on soil fertility and structure that some more vigorous
conventional technologies may have, such as acid extraction and soil washing. So Biodegradation
should be used to reduce increased soil and underground water pollution caused by excessive use of

Quotations In Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, And John Lennon
We see the quotations everywhere: Sometimes we have to fall apart so better things can fall
together, attributed to Marilyn Monroe, Be the change you want to see in the world, attributed to
Gandhi, and If I knew that I had eight hours to chop a tree down, I would spend the first six
sharpening my axe, attributed to Abraham Lincoln. These quotations are on Facebook profiles, in
pop songs, in school books, and in modern bestsellers. Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, and John Lennon
are some of the more common characters who are often referred to as some of the greatest word
smiths of all time. The problem is that many of the quotations have been tampered with and altered
throughout history. Many quotations attributed to famous people are, at best, paraphrases though
often superior to the original. Others might be subtly altered in the retelling, sometimes with little
impact on their effect, but at other times irresponsibly changing the meaning. Of course, many

The Pope s Official Register
Dictatus Papae, inserted in the pope s official Register in 1075, can be considered the most
important document involved in the lay investiture controversy. The document outlines 27
statements of power under the Catholic Church, and it is the first time that a document grants the
pope power to depose an Emperor. The document most likely written, or influenced, by Pope
Gregory VII came in wake of the lay investiture controversybetween the Holy Roman Emperor
Henry IV and Pope Gregory VII. Lay investiture is when lay, or worldly, kings and emperors
invests in bishops, appointing them to bishops of the area in which they rule. It was extremely
common for the bishops that were chosen to also be the Emperor s vassal as well. In return the
bishop would encourage and help the Emperor s rule over their territory. There had hardly been
any push back from the papacy in regards to this practice (Jordan p. 85 87). The bishops would
take the sides of the emperors because most owe them for giving them their position. The height
of the controversy started when a monk named Hildebrand, who believed strongly in reforming
the papacy and the church, was swept into office. Hildebrand would take on the name Gregory
becoming Pope Gregory VII. Gregory would first forbid married priests to perform sacraments in
December 1074, then two months later, he prohibited lay investiture (Jordan p. 91). Henry IV and
most of the German bishops would denounce these papal decrees declaring that since the

Peplau s Theory Of Interpersonal And Inductive Reasoning
Deductive Reasoning
Peplau utilized both deductive and inductive reasoning in her theory development work (Reed
Shearer, 2011). The deductive reasoning methods used were that Peplau integrated ideas from a
number of theories into her theory of interpersonal relations. Influenced by works of Sigmund
Freud, particularly his interest in unconscious motivation as well as Harry S. Sullivan s theory of
interpersonal relations all contributed to her development of the theory of interpersonal processes
in nursing, For example she refers to Sullivan s concepts of anxiety, self system and modes of
experiencing. (Peterson Bredow, 2017). She also incorporated into her theory some elements from
developmental psychology and learning theory (Armstrong Kelly, 1995) and some ideas of the
humanistic psychologists, Abraham Maslow, Rollo May and Carl Rogers. (Peterson Bredow,
2017). For example, Peplau s systematic approach to establishment of nurse patient relationship and
therapeutic intervention are ideas that resonated with Martha Rogers theoretical assumptions about
human pattern and organization. (Armstrong Kelly, 1995).
Inductive Reasoning
Peplau defined her inductive approach in both general and specific terms. The inductive approach
for concept naming are described in several steps (a) observing behaviors for which no explanatory
concepts are available, (b) seeking to repeat those observations in others under similar conditions,
(c) noting regularities concerning the

Theme Of Love In The Great Gatsby
In the Great Gatsby, the author first introduces ideas of infidelity through Tom Buchanan, an
upper class man from old money, and Myrtle Wilson, a woman from the valley of ashes with a
poor, working class background. Both tired of their respective significant others, they find
themselves together in their love nest apartment in New York City, both enjoying what the other
has to offer. Specifically, Myrtle, takes joy from using the money that Tom has to get
materialistic things that she wants and Tom, getting some action and thrill using her. This in
itself shows obvious power differences all due to their background. However, Nick Carraway,
the narrator for the book observes this first hand when he first goes out with Tom and Myrtle.
On their way to their love nest, Myrtle notices someone selling dogs, exclaiming I think it s cute,
and furthermore how much is it? That dog? [said the seller who] looked at it admiringly That
dog will cost you ten dollars. In reply, Is it a boy or girl? she [asks] delicately. Tom, participating
in the conversation at last, It s a bitch said Tom decisively. Here s your money. Go and buy ten
more dogs with it? (Fitzgerald 28). Though at first this can be assumed as Tom giving in to
Myrtle s whims in hopes to keep her happy, when looked further, there is a clear sign that Tom
disregards this encounter. With the way he assumes dominance in the way he decides whether the
dog is boy or a girl, and how be pays it off without so much

The Influence of Protest Music during the 1960’s And...
The 1960 s was one of the most controversial decades in American history because of not only the
Vietnam War, but there was an outbreak of protests involving civil and social conditions all across
college campuses. These protests have been taken to the extent where people either have died or
have been seriously injured. However, during the 1960 s, America saw a popular form of art known
as protest music, which responded to the social turmoil of that era, from the civil rights movement
to the war in Vietnam. A veritable pantheon of musicians, such as Woody Guthrie

The 1960 s in America was often referred to as an age of protest because of not only the social
protests that have taken place, but also for the upbringing of protest music, which became very
popular during that era. The roots of protest music were largely from folk music of American
musicians during 1950 . Folk musicians, such as Joe Hill, composed labor union protest songs and
distributed song booklets, hoping to fan the flames of discontent. (Rodnitzky pg. 6) Symbolically,
this meant that the songs, the fan, would reduce the uncontrollable social protests that the United
States government caused with the misleading information that they did not keep their word on, or
the flames of discontent. Other folk musicians, such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, traveled
around the United States spreading their message music and becoming involved in political
movements. Guthrie and Seeger were the pioneers of protest music, bringing their folk music to
New York City and merging it with urban music. Woody s songs were about the masses, often
identifying problems and offering solutions. While Seeger was cautious about referring to his
music as folk music, preferring the term people s music, meaning that not everyone may had the
same thoughts, but they all expressed it in their own unique musical sense. For both Woody and
Seeger, folk music was a necessity in these protests, when the needs

Mary Wollstonecraft was a participant in and observer of a significant range of social changes;

Many of the character s in Austen s Mansfield Park are overly interested in the idea of improving
themselves, and through this Austen gives the reader an insight into each characters wealth and
estate. By doing this Austen is allowing the reader an understanding of her characters social
position and therefore an assumption into their ideas. The patriarchal structure of society
allocates a distinct relationship between the inequality prevalent between male and females,
placing women in a secondary and submissive position within society allows men to remain
dominant and in control of the very society women exist in. an example of this in Austen s
Mansfield park can be seen in the character of Sir Thomas as the head of the family he is
responsible for guiding and protecting his family, this role which he plays is portrayed within the
novel as a necessity. His position within the family allows him to form the female members in a
way in which he believes to be proper, virtuous and morally correct. By placing this character in
her novel Austen is alluding to Wollstonecraft s idea of women being reared t suit the needs and
attitudes of the society around them, in order for them to gain a comfortable place in society
through the prospect of marriage.
When Sir Thomas Bertram is absent from the domestic home it soon becomes clear that Austen has
calculated this absence to highlight the reliance upon men within society in general.

John Grisham s A Painted House Essay
John Grisham s A Painted House
John Grisham s book, A Painted House places the reader within the walls of a simple home on
the cotton fields of rural Arkansas. Within the first few pages, the author s description of the
setting quickly paints a picture of a hard working family and creates a shared concern with the
reader about the family s struggle to meet the basic needs of life. The description of the dusty
roads, the unpainted board sided house, the daily chore requirements and their lack of excess cause
the reader a reaction of empathy for the family. Although the story takes place in a dusty setting
very unfamiliar to most readers, the storyline is timeless and universal. Most everyone has a desire

As one might expect from the title, one continued part of the story concerns the lack of paint on the
home. Trot, in spite of his lack of physical strength and intelligence, decides to paint the house.
His sister Tally buys him some paint, and Trot begins painting the house on a side not normally
visible during daily activities. At first, it seems a mystery on who is painting the house and for
what reason. It s very obvious later in the book what the author was conveying with this exercise.
The unpainted house is certainly a metaphor when studying these folk as they interact with one
another. One has to set his goals and work very hard and persistently in order to complete the
task...just as in life. Mr. Grisham takes the reader into the cotton fields with the snakes, the almost
unbearable heat, and the empty sacks that must be filled. Too much time spent in one area of a
cotton row and there is wasted time. Not enough time spent in each area of the cotton row, and
there is wasted cotton. The bags have to be filled in order for anyone to get paid. Luke is out
there everyday with the adults dragging his sack behind him while doing his best to keep up with
the others. The work is hard and the days are long. However, in this book s setting, it seems
natural and expected for everyone to share the load. Although one s initial reaction may be that
Luke is too young, the point has to be stressed:

How Anions Take Electrons
Cations take electrons so they are shown as a rectangle with an indent which symbolizes a slot for
an electron to be taken. If they require multiple electrons to be given to them, they are shown as a
rectangle with multiple indents, one for each needed electron. Anions give electrons so they are
shown as a rectangle with a tab which symbolizes an extra electronthat they want to give away. If
the anion have multiple electrons to give away it is shown as a rectangle with multiple tabs on
it, one for each electron to give away. The tabs from the anions would fit into the indent of the
cations and it would form a rectangle with no tabs or indents as they have no more electrons to

that they will not be stopped by anyone to change what must be changed. Throughout the mid 1800

what they believed was wrong. While white women and African Americans both struggled to have
equality with white men. Historic leaders like Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and
Frederick Douglass, are only three people, but influenced an entire nation to help make a great
changes. In Sojourner Truth s speech, Ain t I a Woman? , Truth speaks out about women s
equality. Truth tells her audience, And ain t I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have
ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain t I a

women. During this time period women were looked at as dainty, and sub men, but Truth explains
to the audience that women are definitely equal, if not greater, than men. Truth proves women are
equal to men once again by stating that, ... he says women can t have as much rights as men,
cause Christ wasn t a woman! Where did your Christ come from?... From God and a woman! (2).

Glissade Research Paper
Le Glissade
The Glissade is a part of common Ballet choreography. It is a move that allows dancers to
transport themselves through time and music. This move thrills the body and its instruments are
the legs. While sitting in our seats what we see is grace. Music is playing and people are moving
graciously to the beat. When we first look at it, it seems like this is an easy move because of how
effortlessly the dancers move. However, by carefully watching dancers, we realize that this is a
complex move that requires planning, quick thinking, rhythm and control of the body. On the stage,
what unfolds is a wonderful story full of grace, strength and meaning for life and nature. The

How Did The Baroque Period Influence Today s Society
The Baroque period is the timeframe at which we can closely identify with todays society. It was
a period of great discoveries and taking huge steps as mankind to get us where we are today.
While discussing where we are in todays society, one would have to bring up the people that laid
the foundation of modern music, art, and science. From the songs we sing, art we interact with,
and the science we use in discovery, they all trace back to one of the most important time frames

new ways when showing what the sound of love, fear, and excitement were like. One of the
most influential creators of these symphonies was Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven was a

Many people would attend his concerts to hear his music, however, many would leave early due
to the fact that it was too loud. Following Beethoven was a conductor named Richard Wagner.
Wagner wrote many of his classical pieces to follow along with poems that would be sung along
with the music. These pieces later would be called operas that showed off high notes. The
performers were encouraged to sing at high and low pitches to show off their wide oval range.

Anne Sexton
Anne Sexton
Michealangelo, perhaps the most gifted sculptor and painter of all times, once said that geniuses
stand on the shoulders of other geniuses. As Michelangelo built upon the brilliance of his
predecessors, Anne Sexton does the same in her collection of poems entitled Transformations. She
renovated fairy tales as told by the Brothers Grimm by adding her own life experiences and view of
contemporary culture, hammering away until she built an entirely new art form. Anne Sexton has
had a notable effect upon the literary genre of fairy tales through this shocking transformation of
classic tales.

well received and marked the beginning of her rise to the top. 1967 another major year in Sexton
s career; she won the Pulitzer Prize for Live or Die. Transformations, her book of poetic fairy
tales, was published later in 1971. On October 4, 1974, shortly after the release of Transformations,
Anne could no longer stand the pressures of her existence and committed suicide.
This biographical information is essential to understanding Anne Sexton s influence on the fairy tale
because her transformations of the Grimm Brother s work rises out of her personal turmoil.
Most of Sexton s works before and after Transformations are of the confessional style, but
through her poetic transformations of fairy tales, Sexton gives herself a more discrete outlet for
her passions (Ostriker 255). Her biographer Diane Middlebrook notes that the poems were a way
to place her struggles in legend rather than personal history (37). The intensely metaphorical
characters of Sexton s fairy poetry are one example of this. For instance, Judith the cold and
neglectful mother in Snow White surely represents Sexton s own callous mother (Middlebrook
37). Sexton s father is also recognizable in her work as

Drug Smoking And Drug Trafficking In The World

For ten years I ve stuffed circuit boards at the High Cats International Corporation and at noon, a
thousand federal agents, which included, the FBI, ICE, Homeland Security, and local police,

According to what I overheard the Federal agents had confiscated 800 pounds of cocaine, 400
ounces of meth, 200 ounces of heroin, 9, 00 ounces of marijuana and a shit load of prescription
pills. As well as, 560 high powered rifles and over 600 thousand dollars, stuffed in paper bags. How

money in my wallet, I packed a duffle bag and found a park bench down by the river and spent the
night.
Sometime around sunrise I felt a tug on my foot. When I opened my eyes there stood a man about
the age of my great grandfather, who resemble Gandalf the Gray or maybe Albus Dumbledore, but
not as elegant. Thou his white hair hung down to his waist, it lacked luster, his cloak appeared

He had an air about him that lighten my heart, so I say, Yes, please, of course, by all means, sit

Strengthening Of The Corporate Criminal Justice System

A recent debate has centred on the issue of strengthening companies liabilities for their illegal

The extinction of the dinosaurs has caused great controversy all over the world. There are many
theories of how they were killed, such as; an asteroid impact, volcanic activity, climate change,
and eggs that took too long to hatch. Their extinction allowed humans to rule the Earth in their
place. One of the most widely accepted theories is the asteroid. In section 5, Death of the
Dinosaurs , of a book written by Donald Prothero, he states that, By 1990, the debate was no
longer whether the impact occurred that was clearly established (Prothero). An article in TIME
magazine states that, About 66 million years ago, a six mile wide (10 km) asteroid struck the
coastline of the Yucatan peninsula (Kluger). This theory was created in 1978... Show more content

An article from Florida State University states that, Groundbreaking research led by a Florida State
University professor establishes a timeline of anywhere from three to six months depending on the
dinosaur (How). For a long time, scientists thought that it took 11 85 days for a dinosaur egg to
hatch. They thought this because it is similar to the birds incubation time, and birds are very
similar to the dinosaurs. Gregory Erickson, the Professor of Biological Science at Florida State
University, discovered that it actually takes three to six months for the eggs to hatch.
Erickson and his team of researchers first found dinosaur embryo fossils. The article ,released by
Florida State University, says, Erickson and his team ran the embryonic jaws through a CT scanner
to visualize the forming dentition. Then, they extracted several of the teeth to further examine them
under sophisticated microscope (How). The teeth gave the team evidence of how long the
dinosaurs were developing. The same article states that, Growth lines on the teeth showed
researchers precisely how long the dinosaurs had been growing in the eggs

My First Year Of My Life
For years, I convinced myself that the story of my life began when I arrived in America at eleven
months old. I tumbled through the clichГ©d white picket fence childhood, never realizing how
impossible it was to completely discard the first year of my infancy. While I had always known
about being adopted from China, I did not fully comprehend the weight of this detail until my late
teenage years. I grew up in a loving and somewhat sheltered environment. My parents made my
adoption seem like a grand fairytale, and they were my happy ending. To them, adoption made me
more special than the average kid, causing me to never think twice about my beginnings. I was the
miracle child who brought joy to everyone I met. As a child, people would... Show more content on

In the midst of my clarifying Farm Fresh experience, I took a public speaking class at Regent
University. I had to give an informative speech on a current issue for my final assignment. To this
day, I still have no idea why, but I chose to talk about China s One Child Policy. I conducted
intense research on the topic, and I fell into a depression during that time. So many abortions
voluntary and forced, early and late term. So much abandonment. As I read an article about all of
China s abandoned and orphaned children, I, for the first time in my life, wholly came to terms
with the fact that I had been one of those abandoned infants. I had been an almost victim of this
cruel, unjust policy. When I presented, I used my own story to open and close my speech. I
addressed myself by my middle name my Chinese name, the name they called me in the orphanage.
This is Louzhi, I somberly declared. She was abandoned and placed in an orphanage as a small
child, and she is one of the millions of babies who are affected by China s One Child Policy. I
discussed the policy s history and how the only hope for abandoned Chinese babies was adoption.
Throughout that ten minute speech, I felt like an ambassador for Louzhi. Part of me was this
Chinese baby, but an even larger part of me, the part that had no memory of my infancy, was
simply Lili. I finally became Lili Louzhi as I ended my presentation. Remember Louzhi? That was
me.... I was

Analysis Of The Haunting Of The Sunshine Girl
The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl is a thrilling book by Paige Mckenzie. It explores the theme that
nothing has to be done alone. Everything started on Sunshine Griffith s sixteenth birthday,
throughout the year Sunshine has been faced with a series of tests followed with her new powers.
Every since she was young, Sunshine knew she was adopted, but who has she inherited these
powers from? While Sunshine s life changes forever, the people she loves change affecting
everything. The whole storyis described in detail affecting the imagery, characters and the two point
of views.
The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another.
Sunshine s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be
considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard
for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed
to describe Sunshine s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical
features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach
journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine s classmate,
Nolan, was Sunshine s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine s powers. He was labelled as
her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. Readers would have
assume that their teacher,

Georgi A Unique Geographical Location That Distinguishes...
Georgia has a remarkable history however, in order to find out why one must look at the
structure under the society itself. Georgia has a unique geographical location that distinguishes
it from other countries. This country resides at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, in the
Caucasus between the Black and Caspian Seas, which has always influenced the culture.
According to archaeological excavations in the territory of Georgia there are the first hominids
in Europe 1.8 million years ago. It is believed that they were the first Europeans, and that
Georgia is a country where they have spread to other parts of Europe. 1 Georgia became home to
the first Europeans settlers, and it didn t take long before they started growing vineyards and
wineries. Therefore,Georgia is considered the birthplace of winemaking and, to this day, one can
still find several dozen varieties of grapes and Georgia s popular wine around the world.
Nevertheless, Georgia became a country around 4 B.C. during the reign of Queen Tamara (1184
1213). From the 16th century on, the country became the unwilling stage of a struggle between
Persia and Turkey. In the 18th century, it became a vassal to Russia in exchange for protection
from the Turks and Persians, 2 where it joined Azerbaijan and Armenia in 1917 and created the anti
Bolshevik Transcaucasian Federation. Therefore, when the federation split up in 1918, Georgia
proclaimed itself independent. Nevertheless, in 1922, Georgia, Armenia, and

Logging In Crater Lake
Introduction I have always been amazed with the place we call home. From the Colorado River
that winds within the deep valleys of the Grand Canyon to the steep, protruding mountains of
Yosemite or the towering forests of Redwoods, the United States is home to some of the prettiest
and most wondrous places on earth, many of which are designated National Parks. We are blessed
to be able to visit and explore these magnificent beauties of North America.
Beginning of National Park Service As many headed westward in the mid 1800 s, many were also
concerned about the destruction of Indian civilization, wildlife, and wilderness as eastern
settlements spread westward. Explorers also began to take quite an interest this new land in the

Case Study Of SucarГ©l
1. Analyse the other negotiators and how they might impact on the negotiation.
The goal of this negotiation for SucarГ©l is to establish a joint venture with five potential partners
to reach the german market. Before the meeting, we are going to analyze them.
On the one hand, both five companies have some things in common. For example: they are from
USA, like us. So, we won t have cultural shocks and our negotiation style will be the same: fast,
hard and direct to the objective. Another point in common is that they have presence in Germany,
so they know the country and can help us to enter in it using their distribution channels. Another
common aspect is that all the companies sell their products in similar channels like us

Each company can help the rest to go the countries where they have presence by sharing their
distribution channels. For instance, SucarГ©l can help Nevison to conquer the US market and we
can offer our HQ in Lima (PerГє) to Chansard to enter in Brazil.
We want to have an employee of SucarГ©l in the high directive of the joint venture, but we should
be flexible in that ir order to ease the agreement.
To reach an agreement with the time of the joint venture, we can create the joint venture for five
years and analyze the success of the project to decide if we prologue it for 5 more years or not.
So, the company duration can be extended in periods of five years with periodic revisions. In
accordance with the places where we will launch our products, it should be studied in each country
to localize the principal centres of demand for each kind of product. So, the company can be
divided in different lines of products (one for each company), that will be managed in an
autonomous way but with central divisions, like HR, finance

Iron Curtain Speech Analysis
A cold war is a conflict of ideas, an argument more than a fight. In a cold war bombs are not
dropped, bullets are not fired. The United States and the Soviet Union fought such a war during the
years 1945 through 1991. The United States developed a policy of containment toward the Soviet
Union after Winston Churchill s Iron Curtain speech. The speech highlighted the difference in
philosophy of government, the US was a Democracy and the Soviet Unionwas a communist
nation. These differences helped heat up the Cold War.
It all started on March 5th, 1946, Winston Churchill had just got done telling his speech in
retaliation of Stalin s speech. Winston s speech was about how communists were rising to power
and how Eastern Europe was divided into two, calling it the iron curtain. Churchill also called on
US to help keep Stalin from caging any more nations behind the iron curtain of communist
dictatorship and abuse. These two speeches by Stalin and Churchill set the mood for the cold war.
The rivalry that advanced between the US and the Soviet Union was power and influence in the
world.
Containment was the idea of the diplomat George Kennan, he suggested that the us prevent

  • 2. Accountability in the Army Essay The US Army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable; arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most imprtant formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and to put out any information that needs to be addressed. Without having accountability there is no way of knowing where soldiers are or whats going on. This actually shows thats the soldier can t be depended on when they are needed. This also hurts them when they are being looked at for promotions or any favorable actions. As a soldier you want to always make a great impression on your leaders, and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable to them. It would make things run alot smootherif everyone was on time all of the time. If no one was at the right place at the right time, it would set what ever mission you have back. It also makes a negative impact on your leadership. However, I also feel that as leaders, they should also realize that things may happen with the soldiers. Whether its being late to formation, missing an appointment due to some circumstance, as long as the soldier doesn t make it a habbit then forgiveness should be granted on that instance. Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable anywhere. This should be the easiest task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct this issue if it is a continuous problem. • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Natural Resources A Corporation can be defined as a legal creation, however the corporation itself, would only exist on a piece of paper. A corporation will never die a natural death like humans die naturally, and corporations will always outlive the individual who created it. With that said, the corporation itself is never really committed to any employee or committed to any neighbor. However, a corporation can always demand employees, a corporation can always demand taxes that are extremely high, and a corporation can also restrict environmental laws. Corporations hold a great deal of power in today s society. History has explained the fact that at one point in time, the earth s natural resources had no limit. Raw materials were plenty, because of the fact that there were plenty of natural resources to go around. Natural resources can be identified as the raw materials that comes from the earth and are useful. Natural resources can never be made by humans. Athough, these raw materials can be modified, or altered to benefit corporations and businesses. For example, natural resources are fossil fuels like petroleum, natural gas, and coal. Minerals like diamonds, gold, and copper are natural resources that come from the earth. Other resources are known as natural vegetation, like forests and timber. Animals are our earth s natural resources as well, like salmon, deer, whales, chickens, etc. The air we breathe, and the wind are all also natural resources. Water, like lakes, rivers and ... • 5. The s Reflection Of The Ancient Women Queering Vivien s poem entails finding the elements of imitation, anonymity, and/or appropriation. Two of these elements, anonymity and imitation are clear in Vivien s reflection of the ancient women on Lesbos in herself. Imitation provides Vivien with a means of growing in sexuality, a gaining of knowledge of the women of Lesbos s ways. The ancient Lesbians work as a template, but suddenly become the same as the lesbians of Vivien s timereferred to as our (18). The result of imitation is growing nearer toward the likeness of the ancient Lesbians. Vivien s body metaphorically becomes a reflecting mirror, taking up all aspects of the ancient Lesbians. Vivien and her lesbians go beyond queer imitation to a new form, the same form as the ancient Lesbians. Vivien s group cannot be distinguished from the ancient Lesbians, since they all mirror one another. Imitation renders Vivien s bodies queer and identical. There is no singular body at any point only but our bodies. Anonymity then is also relevant to Vivien s poem. One cannot differentiate between the present our bodies and ancient their bodies either. No difference exists between them, as they are mirror images of each other. The bodies in the poem are queer as they are both anonymous and imitated, yet simultaneously the bodies transcend time. Bridging a long period of time (ancient Greece to 19th centure Britain) means Vivien does not have a full picture of how these women of Lesbos lived. Imitating the past ... • 6. Germans Essay By the twentieth century over two million Germans have immigrated to the United States. Regardless of where they settled they came from a multitude of areas and for a variety of reasons. They were a highly diversified group in terms of regional origin, religious and political orientation, education, and socioeconomic standing. There were a multitude of push factors, or issues that caused Germans to want to leave Germany from inside the country. One of those is that during the time of World War One, Germany s government started having mandatory military service. This meant that any male over the age of 15 would either have to serve in Germany s military or they would have to leave the country. Many people did not want to serve, and as a ... Another pull factor was that relativesand friends of German natives who migrated first would write back and encourage others to follow. This led to chain migrations . We can see by looking at 4 census report where most of the Germans migrated to where they came to New York. I found that the 1880 and 1920 were pretty similar. There were a few more counties that increased but most stayed the same. I t wasn t until the 1960 census that things started really changing. I also noticed that the 3 counties in upper New York: St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton and Washington county which is located on the eastern side were always in the lowest percentile through all 4 censuses, they never changed. Also after the 1920 census more Germans were living in the NY City area then before. Also Erie County, which was the highest in the 1880 census, stayed high throughout out all 4 censuses. From the first census to the last, it seems the trend for the most counties with the highest German population were moving out toward western New York. Looking at the 1880 census the county with the highest amount of German was Erie County. Why was the county such a popular place to come? The Erie Canal had opened in 1825. It made Western New York easily accessible from the Atlantic coast for the first time. For an immigrant arriving at New York ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mendocinos geography, plants, and animals have been have been changing for years on the Mendocino coast, even though you may not notice it, it still happens everywhere. It s probably happening right now. Wind, water, the sun, our redwood trees, and the people who came to the Mendocino coast have been shaping Mendocino for so long to make it where it is today. Mendocino has been known for its beautiful coastline and the huge redwood trees. But not only are they both beautiful attractions they both have their own history that impacted Mendocino to make it is where it is today. Mendocino used to be a huge redwood logging town. The loggers would cut down the redwoods and then put them in the rivers so they would float down to the ocean where the trees would be put into boats and then sailed off to San Francisco where they were building a whole new city because of the gold rush. Salman Anwar Research Proposal Title: BIODEGRADATION OF PESTICIDES IN SOIL ENVIRONMENT Introduction: Wise use and preservation of the soil recourses of a country can transform a poor society into a prosperous one (Miller and Donahue 1992) Agriculture is a key sector in the world economy where the competition between the countries is of great importance in terms of the production. It also contributes about 25% of GDP of Pakistan and provides livelihood directly to 70% of its rural population. In these conditions, pesticides are commonly used to reach a definite quantity and quality of agricultural productions. These quotations are on Facebook profiles, in pop songs, in school books, and in modern bestsellers. Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, and John Lennon are some of the more common characters who are often referred to as some of the greatest word smiths of all time. The problem is that many of the quotations have been tampered with and altered throughout history. • 17. The Pope s Official Register Dictatus Papae, inserted in the pope s official Register in 1075, can be considered the most important document involved in the lay investiture controversy. The document outlines 27 statements of power under the Catholic Church, and it is the first time that a document grants the pope power to depose an Emperor. The document most likely written, or influenced, by Pope Gregory VII came in wake of the lay investiture controversybetween the Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV and Pope Gregory VII. Lay investiture is when lay, or worldly, kings and emperors invests in bishops, appointing them to bishops of the area in which they rule. It was extremely common for the bishops that were chosen to also be the Emperor s vassal as well. In return the bishop would encourage and help the Emperor s rule over their territory. There had hardly been any push back from the papacy in regards to this practice (Jordan p. 85 87). The bishops would take the sides of the emperors because most owe them for giving them their position. The height of the controversy started when a monk named Hildebrand, who believed strongly in reforming the papacy and the church, was swept into office. Hildebrand would take on the name Gregory becoming Pope Gregory VII. Gregory would first forbid married priests to perform sacraments in December 1074, then two months later, he prohibited lay investiture (Jordan p. 91). Influenced by works of Sigmund Freud, particularly his interest in unconscious motivation as well as Harry S. Sullivan s theory of interpersonal relations all contributed to her development of the theory of interpersonal processes in nursing, For example she refers to Sullivan s concepts of anxiety, self system and modes of experiencing. She also incorporated into her theory some elements from developmental psychology and learning theory (Armstrong Kelly, 1995) and some ideas of the humanistic psychologists, Abraham Maslow, Rollo May and Carl Rogers. For example, Peplau s systematic approach to establishment of nurse patient relationship and therapeutic intervention are ideas that resonated with Martha Rogers theoretical assumptions about human pattern and organization. The 1960 s was one of the most controversial decades in American history because of not only the Vietnam War, but there was an outbreak of protests involving civil and social conditions all across college campuses. These protests have been taken to the extent where people either have died or have been seriously injured. However, during the 1960 s, America saw a popular form of art known as protest music, which responded to the social turmoil of that era, from the civil rights movement to the war in Vietnam. A veritable pantheon of musicians, such as Woody Guthrie , Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylansang their songs to encourage union organizers to protest the inequities of their time, creating a diverse variety of popular... The 1960 s in America was often referred to as an age of protest because of not only the social protests that have taken place, but also for the upbringing of protest music, which became very popular during that era. The roots of protest music were largely from folk music of American musicians during 1950 . Folk musicians, such as Joe Hill, composed labor union protest songs and distributed song booklets, hoping to fan the flames of discontent. (Rodnitzky pg. 6) Symbolically, this meant that the songs, the fan, would reduce the uncontrollable social protests that the United States government caused with the misleading information that they did not keep their word on, or the flames of discontent. Other folk musicians, such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, traveled around the United States spreading their message music and becoming involved in political movements. Guthrie and Seeger were the pioneers of protest music, bringing their folk music to New York City and merging it with urban music. Woody s songs were about the masses, often identifying problems and offering solutions. While Seeger was cautious about referring to his music as folk music, preferring the term people s music, meaning that not everyone may had the same thoughts, but they all expressed it in their own unique musical sense. Many of the character s in Austen s Mansfield Park are overly interested in the idea of improving themselves, and through this Austen gives the reader an insight into each characters wealth and estate. By doing this Austen is allowing the reader an understanding of her characters social position and therefore an assumption into their ideas. The patriarchal structure of society allocates a distinct relationship between the inequality prevalent between male and females, placing women in a secondary and submissive position within society allows men to remain dominant and in control of the very society women exist in. an example of this in Austen s Mansfield park can be seen in the character of Sir Thomas as the head of the family he is responsible for guiding and protecting his family, this role which he plays is portrayed within the novel as a necessity. His position within the family allows him to form the female members in a way in which he believes to be proper, virtuous and morally correct. By placing this character in her novel Austen is alluding to Wollstonecraft s idea of women being reared t suit the needs and attitudes of the society around them, in order for them to gain a comfortable place in society through the prospect of marriage. • 39. Extinction Of Dinosaurs Research Paper The extinction of the dinosaurs has caused great controversy all over the world. There are many theories of how they were killed, such as; an asteroid impact, volcanic activity, climate change, and eggs that took too long to hatch. Their extinction allowed humans to rule the Earth in their place. One of the most widely accepted theories is the asteroid. In section 5, Death of the Dinosaurs , of a book written by Donald Prothero, he states that, By 1990, the debate was no longer whether the impact occurred that was clearly established (Prothero). An article from Florida State University states that, Groundbreaking research led by a Florida State University professor establishes a timeline of anywhere from three to six months depending on the dinosaur (How). For a long time, scientists thought that it took 11 85 days for a dinosaur egg to hatch. They thought this because it is similar to the birds incubation time, and birds are very similar to the dinosaurs. Gregory Erickson, the Professor of Biological Science at Florida State University, discovered that it actually takes three to six months for the eggs to hatch. Erickson and his team of researchers first found dinosaur embryo fossils. The article ,released by Florida State University, says, Erickson and his team ran the embryonic jaws through a CT scanner to visualize the forming dentition. Then, they extracted several of the teeth to further examine them under sophisticated microscope (How). The teeth gave the team evidence of how long the dinosaurs were developing. The same article states that, Growth lines on the teeth showed researchers precisely how long the dinosaurs had been growing in the eggs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. My First Year Of My Life For years, I convinced myself that the story of my life began when I arrived in America at eleven months old. I tumbled through the clichГ©d white picket fence childhood, never realizing how impossible it was to completely discard the first year of my infancy. While I had always known about being adopted from China, I did not fully comprehend the weight of this detail until my late teenage years. I grew up in a loving and somewhat sheltered environment. My parents made my adoption seem like a grand fairytale, and they were my happy ending. To them, adoption made me more special than the average kid, causing me to never think twice about my beginnings. I was the miracle child who brought joy to everyone I met. I had to give an informative speech on a current issue for my final assignment. To this day, I still have no idea why, but I chose to talk about China s One Child Policy. I conducted intense research on the topic, and I fell into a depression during that time. So many abortions voluntary and forced, early and late term. So much abandonment. As I read an article about all of China s abandoned and orphaned children, I, for the first time in my life, wholly came to terms with the fact that I had been one of those abandoned infants. I had been an almost victim of this cruel, unjust policy. When I presented, I used my own story to open and close my speech. I addressed myself by my middle name my Chinese name, the name they called me in the orphanage. This is Louzhi, I somberly declared. She was abandoned and placed in an orphanage as a small child, and she is one of the millions of babies who are affected by China s One Child Policy. I discussed the policy s history and how the only hope for abandoned Chinese babies was adoption. Throughout that ten minute speech, I felt like an ambassador for Louzhi. Part of me was this Chinese baby, but an even larger part of me, the part that had no memory of my infancy, was simply Lili. I finally became Lili Louzhi as I ended my presentation. Remember Louzhi? The whole storyis described in detail affecting the imagery, characters and the two point of views. The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another. Sunshine s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed to describe Sunshine s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine s classmate, Nolan, was Sunshine s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine s powers. He was labelled as her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. The United States and the Soviet Union fought such a war during the years 1945 through 1991. The United States developed a policy of containment toward the Soviet Union after Winston Churchill s Iron Curtain speech.
