The Film Grizzly Man
The film Grizzly Man aims to demonstrate the common cliche, not everything is how it seems. It
follows a man of the name Timothy Treadwell: his life before his death, his actual death, and the
impact of his death. He spent 13 summers of his life within close proximity of grizzly bears until
one takes his life. Before this event, the public only knew him as a passionate nature enthusiast,
with his focus mainly on bears. They found entertainment in watching a cheerful idiot embracing
these animals as friends. However, the film makes an effort to show that Treadwell has more depth
as a person by examining his past and consulting with those close to him for why his life lead up to
this point. Though there is an benevolent intention in his actions,

Portrayal of Women in Rap and Music Videos Essay
Misogyny and degradation of women is present in almost every genre of music, yet the one
genre that completely revolves around demeaning women is rap. Over the years rap and rap
music videos have continually become more sexual and degrading towards women. Rap has been
criticized numerous times for this reason, and that is because rap is one of the most popular
genres of music for the younger generations. It is more than a genre of music, it is a complete
industry filled with clothing and other merchandise. The reason this constant demeaning of women
exists is because rap as a genre that rewards the objectification of women. The excuses used to
justify the misogyny in rap are incomplete and lack accurate support. The most effective way...

A rapper couldn t use a line describing what she did in the movie, let alone film it in a video,
without getting heat for it (Keyes 256). While some may choose to side with this argument, rap
truly takes sexual portrayal of women in both music videos and songs to the next level. In rap
music videos, diamond covered rappers stand next to cars as scantily dressed women dance
around them. This is the premise of the majority of rap music videos and both young girls and
boys all over the world see the constant objectification of women in these videos. Naturally this
concerns the parents of these kids, and many critics believes that the images kids see on T.V
directly correlate to their development and thinking: exposure to rap music videos, which is
explicit about sex and violence and rarely shows the potential long term adverse effects of risky
behavior, may influence adolescents by modeling thee unhealthy practices (Thrash). Parents should
become more aware of these videos, and make sure that their young daughters are not watching
them. Yet, once they get to the age where they could be recruited for these videos it is important
that they are educated about this industry. This education should come from the home, but I think
it would also be important to provide workshops for girls about this issue. Since anorexia is such a
problem among girls many companies and organizations put together workshops to educate young
girls. One example of this is Dove s Self Esteem

Advanced Nursing Philosophy
When discerning about my respective philosophy of nursing, I think back to all of the theories and
elements of advance nursing that we have been educated on throughout the duration of this
program. I have stepped back and considered the following three elements for the construction of
my philosophy: 1) the definite science, 2) the constructive knowledge, and 3) the position in which
nursing lies as a societal arrangement. For further construction of the advanced philosophy, it was
vital to consider the four paradigms contusive to nursing: 1) human beings, 2) health, 3)
environment, and 4) nursing.

Ancient Roman Civilization
The Ancient Roman Civilization was one of the most advanced and successful societies of their
time. But what led to their victory? Between the years 509 BCE and 120 CE the Romans
developed their dominance of the ancient world. Their location was key to their reign as it allowed
trading throughout the Mediterranean sea. Their ability to create infrastructure was a tactic they
used to further define themselves as a global superpower. They were able to create a complex road
system that allowed them to travel and trade with nearly everyone around them. They also built a
water system so advanced there was a choice in temperature. These developments would ve been
meaningless without the inhabitants. The citizens of the Roman Empirewere broken down into
classes; there are debates as to whether or not this was beneficial. Regardless, the social structure
greatly affected this civilization. The Roman civilization constantly surpassed standards that no one
had ever attempted to change. They were certainly a force to be reckoned with.
The Mediterranean Sea was a central component of the Roman Empire. With several societies
nearby the Romans were able to trade constantly. There was always a variety of products
circulating which led to a diverse culture and lifestyle (Bednarz 81 82). Goods that could not be
produced in Rome were shipped in from other places like Italy, Greece, Africa and even Spain
(Robinson 1). This trading was appealing to the citizens because they could purchase

Accidents on the road happen daily. Reducing the likelihood of an accident requires the
enforcement of necessary traffic laws and the use of appropriate safety measures. On occasion,
however, certain safety measures are not taken or enforced when they should be. One such
place that has great need for such measures is the intersection of Eglin Pkwy and 12th Ave in
Shalimar Florida. The Eglin Pkwy and 12th Ave intersection is a very familiar place for most
locals. Here Richbourg Ave coincides with 12th Ave and intersecting Eglin Pkwy. Going north on

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were 499
pedestrian fatalities in 2011, and in 2015 that number had increased to 632, an approximately 27%
increase in fatalities. With that being said, traffic regulation should be a priority. Traffic laws are
great advocates for road safety, but a law cannot enforce itself nor can it keep everybody safe.
That is why the use of traffic and road signs is important: they enforce and they protect. For
instance, it is a generally known that you cannot exceed the speed limit of twenty miles per hour
inside a school zone; however, most people wouldn t know that they were in a school zone if there

Speech On Moral Values
First of all, Moral was invented by human beings as a way to live in certain harmony and to
cooperate and taking care of each other, and there is no limit for moral and there is no clear
definitions about moral. Morality is totally subjective, everyone sees it differently refers to personal

The Synthesis Of Apomorphine Was Historically Accomplished...
Introduction: Apomorphine has been used as far back as 2000 BC. In 2000 BC the Mayan s
noticed that the bulb and root of water lilies gave a narcotic feeling, as well as acted as an
aphrodisiac and partial hallucinogen.1 Apomorphine belongs to a class of molecules called
aporphines which are present in water lilies, more specifically in Nymphaea caerulea and
Nymphaea ampla.1 While mild effects were shown in parts of water lilies, scientists wanted to
know what exactly caused these effects. The compounds were isolated and tested to determine that
apomorphine was the most active ingredient. The concentration of apomorphine was so low in the
plants that isolation was impractical so a synthesis was designed to investigate the properties of
apomorphine further; leading to apomorphine being used for Parkinson s disease, erectile
dysfunction, and most recently Alzheimer disease.
Synthesis2: The synthesis of apomorphine was historically accomplished by an acid catalyzed
rearrangement of morphine. This method typically had low and varying yields: anywhere from
0.6% to 46% yield. In 2008, a new synthesis was patented that shown yields as high as 55% to
70% yield. This new synthesis, scheme 1, uses phosphoric acid as the catalyst and phosphorus
pentoxide as a water scavenger water is the by product of the reaction and the phosphorus
pentoxide irreversibly binds to the water. The solution would then be heated to 90 100в„ѓ in an
inert atmosphere for two hours.

The Meaning of Work
The meaning of work is just as different to people as the meaning of life. So many things are
involved in what work really means. This includes morals and principles, personal work ethics,
responsibility and the list goes on. When it comes to deciding the right combination one must
remember to stay true to oneself in order to become honestly successful in the business world.

One of the most critical claims made about our free enterprise market system is that it is a just
way of solving the economic problems of producing and distributing goods as fairly as possible
throughout the whole society (Above the Bottom Line 3rd Edition, 2004, p. 320). So what is the
difference between capitalism and free enterprise?
Leftista is gives definitions of both of these. Free Enterprise is your right to engage in the
building, provisions, and/or selling of a product or service (Free Enterprise vs Capitalism).
Capitalism is defined as, the philosophy and strategy of the placement and the positioning of large
blocks of capital (Free Enterprise vs Capitalism).
Capitalism is not a solitary idea. Capitalism is not just an economic system; it is also an ethical
framework in which the question of what a person has earned or deserves plays a particularly
important role (Above the Bottom Line 3rd Edition, 2004, p. 327). With that said the concept of
what a person deserves is not a simple one. If it was, then there would be less questions sounding it.
Karl Marx recognized capitalism is a certain way. He saw, entrenched nature of this feature of
capitalism and referred to what we call the underclass with a dismissive name, the
lumpenproletariat (Above the Bottom Line 3rd Edition, 2004, p. 334). His worked is looked at

The 1920 s was a busy time for America. The Roaring Twenties, The Golden Twenties, The Red

between the end of WW1 and the commencement of the Great Depression (Alchin). During this
time, the United States prospered there were new automobiles, fashion styles, and music styles.
The Golden Twenties was very similar to the Roaring Twenties. During the Golden Twenties,

(Log) Many do not believe that Sacco and Vanzettihad a fair trial. The Sacco and Vanzetti trial has
a bunch of controversy behind it. The Sacco and Vanzetti Case has always been treated as one,
but in reality, the two should have had an opportunity to serve the trial together and if the two
feel as if justice was not served, then they should have been able to have separate trials. Before
being executed, Vanzetti left the courtroom with In all my life I have never stole, never killed
never spilled blood.... We were tried during a time ... when there was hysteria of resentment and
hate against the people of our principles, against the foreigner.... I am suffering because I am a
radical and indeed I am a radical; I have suffered because I was an Italian and indeed I am an
Italian.... If you could execute me two times, and if I could be reborn two other times, I would
live again to do what I have done already (Danzer 414). This quote shows that Vanzetti is
innocent. Moore did his best to turn Sacco and Vanzetti into archetypal working men with whom
he hoped large segments of the blue collar community might identify. He even tried to arouse
international interest in the case, especially in Italy. The tactics showed early signs of working.
Groups such as the New England Civil Liberties Union soon joined the fight, sending to its
supporters a letter declaring that the evidence against Sacco and Vanzetti was unsubstantial and
that they were being prosecuted merely because they were foreigners and are active and influential
radicals. (User) This quote shows how the defense attorney blames the prosecution on their race. In
one article it says Moore alleged that Proctor testified that he found Bullet 3 consistent with having
been fired from Sacco s Colt despite having confided earlier to District Attorney Katzmann that he
did not believe Bullet 3 came from the defendant s gun. Judge Thayer

On April 4th, about 86 people were killed in a chemical attack in a town in Syria. While most
people were sleeping warplanes, suspected to be from the Syrian military, dropped bombs full of
toxic chemicals on the rebel filled town, Khan Sheikhoun. The innocent people were exposed to a
chemical nerve agent called Sarin. Sarin causes people to have difficulty breathing because it
makes the lungs heavy and causes blood to slowly fill the lungs. The Syrian President, Bashar al

Comparison Of Dido And Aeneas
In the article Dido, Aeneas, and the Concept of Pietas, the author Kenneth McLeish argues that
Dido is in the Aeneid, because Virgil, a careful writer, saw her as a necessary piece of the epic
Everything she says or does is part of the design, and her presence in the Aeneid must deepen our
understanding, not lessen it. McLeish explains that Virgildescribed her as being a real person with
emotions, actions, and wholeness that real people possess (McLeish 127). In Virgil s time, any
Roman would look at Didoas weak (McLeish 130). She was married to a king that died and left
all the power to her. Romans would immediately move from love to duty as they searched for a
new ruler to protect their land. Dido, on the other hand, vowed against that very thing, placing
devotion to romance over devotion to duty and government. Because of this, pious Romans
would have urged Aeneas to move away from the weak ruler in pursuit of a greater prize, Rome.
In direct contrast to Dido, Aeneas is a perfect picture of the pietas that Romans aimed to
exemplify in their lives as citizens. He mourns for the fallen Troy when sees the Trojan War
depicted in Dido s temple, showing his deep care for his city (McLeish 128). Dido s stark
contrast to the Roman belief system at the time was specifically designed by Virgil to pull the
support of the Romans to the divine mission of Rome and to encourage pious behavior among
them (McLeish 131). Had Virgil depicted Dido as a role model after Aeneas left her, the purpose
of the epic to encourage patriotism would have been compromised. Dido s purpose was to rally
the allegiance to Rome and a sense of Romanness. Dido s very first encounter with Aeneas shows
how she will lead to her own destruction (McLeish 129). Her first thought of Aeneas was purely
smitten for his beauty, so she was already planting a seed in her own mind that she might have
found the next king of Carthageeven before Cupid s influence took hold of her mind. McLeish s
view shows that Virgil did not write Dido to be glorified or even sympathized with, but that she
was written as a bad example (McLeish 132).

depiction of the pain

Pros And Cons Of Flood Control Essay
Flood control is a public good that helps to prevent flooding which, benefits the community, but
can cause market failure. Flooding can cause serious property damage and harm the lives of
people and other species. Floods can be caused by many reasons such as, high tides, hurricanes,
tsunamis, heavy rains, broken dams and more. Floodcontrol is used to help prevent disasters
caused by flooding waters. Flood control is important everywhere, but it is even more important
in areas where there are large amounts of water like the Mississippi River, the Gulf Coast, East
and West Coast, and even the Great Lakes. There are many more areas, but those are just to
name a few. In areas like these, flood control is a public good because everyone has the ability to
benefit from whatever is being used to control the flood such as, dams, levees, sea or break
walls, sand bags etc. Public goods are not excludable nor rival in consumption which means
everyone has access to it. The government provides money for flood control to be built making
them a public good and free for everyone to use as protection against floods. Since flood control
is free and the government pays for the flood prevention this means it is a free market. A free
market is an economic system where price is determined by unrestricted competition. Market
failure is when a market fails to allocate resources efficiently. A public good can cause a market
failure because if people get to use an item for free, firms cannot

Due Process
Due Process

Abstract
We all wonder what the words life, liberty, and property derived from. In this paper I will be
explaining what due process is and how it relates to life, liberty, and property. I will also explain
where due process came from and what 2 amendments relate to due process. Before we start though
I would like you to know that due process is there to protect the defendant under proving guilty.
Define due process and its origin? Due process refers to a set of established legal principles,
derived from the Constitution, that seek to protect the rights if citizens. It is done to insure that the
government treats all the individuals properly and does not abuse ... Show more content on

Substantive refers to the specific rights being denied, even if the process is deemed fair. Actions
are taken by the state in a process that would be considered fair, but could still be challenged on
the basis that it improperly denies a right. Substantive is which includes all your basic
amendment rights. An example could be Griswold vs. Connecticut (1995). Connecticut law
made it illegal for doctors to dispense birth control to their patients. The court ruled that the law
violated the Constitution not because it was passed or applied improperly, but because it denied
that patients their right to privacy. Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that
everyone that wants to vote will need to show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken.
This applies because it goes against a person right to speech and freedom. One good example I
like to think due process came from was from the Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did
not immediately punish them. The first thing that God did was ask Where art thou Adam?
Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by asking Didn t thou eat the
forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? In my options this in when due process came into affects;
no one would like to relate due process to the Garden of Eden time.

Labor Effects On Child Labor
Title Due to the failure of Hershey s voluntary efforts to stop child labor from being used within
its supply chain, the U.S. government should enforce existing federal law against the
importation of products made with forced labor. Trafficked Labor and Poor Working Conditions
Hershey sources much of its cocoa from West Africa a region plagued by extreme poverty and
known for extensive use of trafficked child labor. Though the countries of Ghana and the Ivory
Coast provide 70 percent of the world s cocoa supply(2?) horrible work conditions persist in the
agriculture sector. Starting in the late 1990 s, reports of slave labor on cocoa farms began to
appear in the media. In 1998, a newspaper in Cote d Ivoire reported the widespread practice of
trafficking and indenturing Malian boys for work on Ivorian cocoa plantations. The United
States Department of State reported an initial estimate of 15,000 Malian children working on
Ivorian cocoa and coffee plantations. Many of the child workers were under the age of 12, and
were sold into indentured servitude for as little as $140. These children were made to work for
12 hour days for annual salaries between $135 to $189(4?). By itself, the fact that these children
are working under the age of 12 violates widely accepted international labor standards.(4?). Making
matters worse is that the labor is compulsory, physically demanding, and places children in danger.

Jersey is defined as a plain knit, machine made fabric of wool, silk, nylon, rayon, and so on. It is
soft and elastic and thus widely used for garments. (Dictionary.com, 2008) A jersey is a shirt
worn by members of a team, typically depicting the athlete s name and team number as well as
the logotype of the team or corporate sponsor. A good jersey is very important for players to
great performance in a competition. Nowadays, people focus more on the design of jersey
including its colour besides its specific properties. For players as well as supporters, they prefer
jersey which has the colour that represents their own country. For example, in 2014 World Cup,
Puma had designed jersey in green and white colour for Algeria. The green colour on the jersey is
the same green as the nation s flag. The main characteristics that a jersey should have are the ability
to disperse sweat easily, light weight, durable, breathable and comfortable to be worn.
In the past, the materials used to make jersey were 100% cotton, 100% polyester and polyester
cotton blend. Each material can produce jersey with special characteristics. For 100% cotton, the
jersey will have a good durability and utility as cotton is stable chemically. Besides that, cotton is
inherently soft and hypoallergenic. Cotton is also durable and breathable which give the jersey its
cooling properties. This is due to the fact that cotton soaks up moisture easily. After soaking up the

On The Waterfront Film Analysis
A few years before the release of On the Waterfront (Elia Kazan, 1954), the House Un American
Activities Committee investigated alleged Communists in Hollywood. Among those under
investigation, Elia Kazan elected to release names of others involved in the same movement
(Neve 66). This event sparked intense controversy in Hollywood, and it forced the people he
uncovered to either release more names or be blacklisted from filmmaking. Through an early
example of film authorship, Kazan was able to relate scenes throughout the movie to his personal
experiences with HUAC. Within the Classic Hollywood Narrative, Kazan s directorial creativity
allows him to develop his ideas through the typical structure and expand his deeper thoughts
through the allegory of the waterfront. A majority of the film stays within the Classic Narrative
Style, but some scenes will venture outside the realm of the typical structure. While scenes
throughout the movie may or may not follow the narrative, they are specifically created to tell a
deeper story in relation to the movie s plot and Kazan s life.... Show more content on

Moments before the murder, Terry returns one of Doyle s lost birds, and as he releases the bird

death of Joey Doyle. The audience sees that Terry loathes his responsibility in the previous action,
and Kazan, as a film author, is relating this scene to his life in the HUAC trials. While he reported
names of other active Communists, Kazan could have struggled with intense inner conflict, as he
understood the outcome of his decision. He is stating that judgment on other individuals should not

Literary Analysis Of The Sun Also Rises
The Great War of 1914 1918 had numerous consequences: millions of people died and the world
was permanently altered. One of the most significant results of World War 1 was the formation
of a lost generation. This term, first coined by author Gertrude Stein in conversation, refers to the
young post World War 1 men who were emotionally damaged by the horrors experienced during
combat and as a result aimlessly wandered through life with a depressed attitude toward the world
( The Lost Generation 1). Author Ernest Hemingway, who was himself a member of the Lost
Generation, perfectly encaptured the post war lifestyle of a WW1 veteran in his novel, The Sun
Also Rises. The story is narrated by Jake Barnes, a newspaper writer living in Paris,... Show more

Barnes use of alcohol began during the war, while trying to escape the stress of the unknown
threats, and continued after the war s conclusion. By drinking, Barnes is able to forget his
melancholy post war attitude towards the world. The dependence on alcohol is a side effect of
the mental damage Barnes sustained from the war. Drinking is also how Barnes friend
Campbell copes with his outlook on the world after the war. After discussing his fiancee, Brett,
and her relationship with a bullfighter, Campbell, also a WW1 veteran, exclaims, I think I ll stay
rather drunk. This is all awfully amusing, but it s not too pleasant. It s not too pleasant for me
(Hemingway 205). In order to deal with the stress of having his fiancee in a relationship with a
bullfighter, Campbell decides to drink. He prefers to remain in a state of intoxication because it
keeps him from thinking about his relationship issues with Brett and his other problems with the
world by giving him a sweet escape. Hemingway s use of the drinking motif, especially shown
through Barnes and Campbell, demonstrates how the psychological and emotional damage of the
war has caused the Lost Generation to become dependent on alcohol in order to cope with their
depressed attitude toward the world. In addition to the drinking motif, Hemingway s writing style
conveys the theme of negative views towards the world created from the emotional suffering of
World War 1. Throughout

Relational Aggression In Women
Relational Aggression
A large proportion of the research points to the most common form of aggression being relational
between women. According to Miller Ott and Kelly (2013) relational aggression is the behaviors
that harm others through manipulation or damage to social. Miller Ott and Kelly continue by
saying they believe that this is viewed as normative and expected behavior in peer relationships

point that in order to demonstrate their need for superiority, control, and power is through relational

Abstract
In the movie Hidden Figures the producers and writers of the movie touch base on multiple
points as well as teach valuable lessons. Katherine Johnson, played by Taraji P. Henson, is an
outstanding american idol. In the 1960s blacks were not seen as equals nor were women yet she,
being both black and a woman, out did her colleagues. Using Euler s Method to solve a problem

Sustainable Development Is Possible For Academic Research
During the last eleven years my work in Belize has evidenced that sustainable development is
possible when academic research incorporates community direction, and recognizes local expertise
as a component in the formation of new knowledge. Indeed, we are able to manage problems and in
many cases improve lives by collaborating to undertake community driven and academically
supported initiatives. What is sometimes misunderstood in the context of academia, community
based research promotes the creation of new knowledge through multiple sources including
academia, local tacit expertise, and cultural context (Strand, Marullo, Cutforth, Stoecker, Donohue,
2003). Collaborative solutions to issues and challenges that work within the parameters of local
resources are paramount to sustainability. Moreover, sustainability is critical in effecting a lasting
improvement in the human condition. The projects that I implemented in December of 2014 and
December of 2015 particularly those directed at soilquality are indicators of the effectiveness and
sustainability of these collaborative efforts.
Although these projects may seem diverse, in the context of addressing the challenges of food
insecurity, poverty, lack of access to clean water, and environmental degradation; interdisciplinary
solutions in the framework of the integrated natural resource management model could be
employed to resolve these issues (Sanchez, Palm, Buol, 2003, p. 159). Agricultural communities

Database Management Systems and the Growth of the Internet...
Recent inventions and technical advancements have changed the appearance and indeed, the entire
capability of the internet as most people know it. Many events have contributed to this change, but
none so much as the processing method known as Database Management Systems (DBMS). From
its birth in the last century, the way computers process information has grown and expanded to a
point that would have been hard to imagine for the early programmers. This growth actually spurred
on the growth of the telecommunications industry. Carrier systems have grown with the advancing
march of computers in general, but the huge amount of data required by DBMS created a need for
massive carrier capability and the birth of what we call the internet... Show more content on

With guidance from Watson, the concept of a database was created during the 1920 s. IBM and
DBMS was literally born out of a spark flamed on by the Bell system (Newton, 2004).
About 1930, the Bell System started the data communication revolution by testing various carrier
system technologies and releasing a remote calculation device known as the Complex Number
Calculator (CHMT, n.d.). While the initial transmissions only carried numeric data, development of
alpha numeric coding would open the door to the carrier systems advancements. Clearer circuits
were required to allow error free service to the new computing systems. While the Bell System
advanced the carrier capability, the data itself became increasingly complex as well. In the early
years, the circuits were simple dialed telephone circuits that eventually graduated to dedicated or
non switched connections that let the machines interact directly. Claude Shannon s paper The
Mathematical Theory of Communications showed engineers how to code data so they could check
for accuracy after transmission between computers. Shannon identified the bit as the fundamental
unit of data and, coincidentally, the basic unit of computation (Shannon, 1948).
The database science grew in leaps and bounds, from the early file systems, to hierarchical and
networked architectures, to the first relational style systems like IBM s

Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare
The play Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare depicts the Roman Empire from a very
traditional perspective within each of the characters. Shakespeare creates a visual of historical
Rome that includes many blood battles, deception, courage and loyalty not just to Rome and
her people, but to one s family. By doing this, Shakespeare shows the reader that Rome was a
great city of power that revolved around the idea that justice must be of an equivalent manner
suitable to the crime committed by the other party. The word Rome , both historically and in
modern times, is often defined as being the perfect model for an advanced civilization, and
many looked upon Rome and Romans as being examples of excellence for architecture and
political advances within a society . ( Rome , OED Online). The word Rome is seen frequently
throughout the play and is used by almost all of the characters. It is a word that describes what
Roman civilization entails and how the city of Rome can be a very dark and cruel city. The
Roman characters in particular describe the two main concepts of Rome and Roman by means of
traditional birth right and traditional forms of justice. Both meanings are seen frequently amongst
each Roman character. By fully understanding why particular events in the play occur and being
able to see the traditional aspects of the word Rome among each character, it aids the reader in
understanding how the play revolves around the historical context of Roman values of

12 Years a Slave movie-analysis Essay
12 Years a Slave
The movie В«12 Years a slaveВ» is based on the book В«12 Years a SlaveВ» by Soloman Northup.
It s his life story of how he got lured in a trap and kidnapped in 1841. It s about how he was sold
into slavery in the south, and what happened during those 12 years a slave .
The movie was released in 2013, but the book was first published in 1853. The setting of the
movie was in the US, mostly in the states New York and Louisiana.
The film was directed by Steve McQueen, he s also known for directing the movies
В«HungerВ»(2008) and В«ShameВ»(2011).

He and others are then put on a boat to Louisiana where they re sold. Soloman is sold to a
plantation owner for 1000$, and is sent with him to his home. He works there for quite a while,
but there s a conflict between him and one of the В«MastersВ» there, which makes him have to
leave to another plantation to work. There s a lot of complications, and he s in the middle of a
lot of it. He meets different persons, and one of them is the savior to his 12 year lasting hell.
There is a man who helps free Soloman from slavery, who helps him become a free man again.
The movie takes up a lot of subjects. One obvious is slavery. There is also discrimination of women
and human trafficking.
When one of the plantation owners talk down to his wife, and treats her like she has nothing to say
about stuff, it shows how he thinks of her as less than himself. He discriminates her infront of the
slaves.
Human trafficking is because that s what they ve did when they kidnapped Soloman and brought
him somewhere else to sell him as a slave.
The plot is not presented in a chonological way. It starts off with him as a slave, and then it goes
back to how he actually became one.

My Experience At The Grocery Store
There was once a time in my life where everything was perfect. There were smiles, toys, good
times, friendships and playgrounds. This period of time was my early childhood when the only
time I became sick was when I fell during my joyous playtimes. However, as I grew older, the
world and my environment changed. I always tried to keep healthy by maintaining the right diet
and taking vitamins. Despite this, something terrible happened to me on December 12th, 2015.
December 12th, 2015 was just another regular day for me. I was working at my part time job at
the grocery store. I did the same routine tasks as any other day: said my prayers, had breakfast,
showered and got prepared to go to work. That morning was a beautiful morning. The sun was
shining brightly, the birds were chirping sweetly and a warm Christmas spirit was in my home. My
parents were jovial as on any other day, and they both encouraged me to have a wonderful day.
Work began at 8am. It was 7:16 am when I left home to go to work. I was energetic and excited.
I arrived at work at 7:45 am to begin my shift. The sun was extremely hot and I began to sweat as
I unlocked the outdoor trolleys. However, I did not let this deter me, as I was in an energetic
mood and eager to spread the Christmas spirit to all the customers whom I would encounter. At
8am when the supermarket doors opened, there was a huge rush. This was expected as the
Christmas period was always busy. I greeted the customers warmly and performed my task

The cost, team size and LOC are measured on the bases of COCOMO model. It is a constructive
cost mode. Effort of the project is calculated by the help of algorithm models. One of these
models which are widely used is COCOMO model. For the cost estimation of any project,
COCOMO (constructive cost model) is used. This model was developed by Boehm in 1981. There

On the other hand, the quality characteristics which are must be maintained by the software are
known as non functional requirements. The functional requirements of the software are must be
tested at the beginning phase but the security requirements, reliability and safety requirements (Non
functional requirements) are tested after the end of propose process.
For the system, which should never be failed, the reliability test of the software should be done.
For this, the black box and white box testing should be done on the software. After the successful
development of the software, a beta version should be released. The errors and bugs related to the
security and functional requirements can be find out in an easy manner.
Conclusion
For the given project, project manager plays very important role. He/she will decide role of each
team member, team size, etc. The selection of development model is also done by him. The
waterfall model is basic model and is recommended. The black box and white box testing methods
will be selected for testing the project.

Yog Yoga And Yoga
In addition to meditation, yoga is also an important practice in Hinduism as well
as in Tibetan Buddhism. Yoga is used as a means to enlightenment and has influenced
other religious and spiritual practices throughout the world. The Bhagavad Gita and the
Yogasutra are some of the scriptures that establish the basis for yoga. The four main
types of yoga are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Raja Yoga. Yoga helps
gain a mastery over the body and mind and can lead to the knowledge of actual reality.
The ultimate goal of yoga is to attain liberation from suffering and the endless cycle of
birth and death. Yoga and meditationare used together in order to achieve this
liberation and one who studies yoga is referred to as a yogi.

A Research Study On Research Design
Research design The use of survey design was done for the study to be able to adopt a
quantitative approach. The fact that this survey method has the capability to make data
collection from various responding groups more enhanced made it the favorite. Besides, this
method didn t require a lot of investment for the administering and development purposes, it
possesses various variables that could easily be studied, and seemed to be very easy
comparatively in order to make generalizations (Glasow, 2005; Zikmund, Babin, Carr Griffin,

Gender Discrimination In Nursing
Today, most people perceive nursing as a women profession. Men who enter this field have been
looked at as outcasts. Many individuals feel that a man does not belong in a female profession. I
believe that statement to be untrue and unfair. The issue of gender discrimination in nursing is the
same as any other professions. The only difference is nursing is dominated by women, and men are
the minority fighting for equality. My goal in this paper is to help you understand why I m arguing
that men should be welcomed in the nursing profession. Genderor sex discriminationinvolves
treating an employee or a category of employees differently because of gender. Whenever this
discrimination affects the terms or conditions of employment, it is illegal. Gender based different
treatment of employees with regard to pay, title, position, hours worked and vacation time is
generally considered illegal and wrong. Just 2.7 percent of the working nursing population in the
United States are men. To understand why nursing is dominated by women we have to analyze the
history. Malenurses may belong, but there s still not many around. According to the U.S. Labor
Department statistics, 6.7 percent of registered nurses were male. Gender discrimination in
nursing exists because of prejudices male students encounter in the classroom, in the workplace
and with patients. Over the years discrimination of males in the nursing has declined but just like
racial discrimination it still exists. To understand gender discrimination in nursing we must first
understand the past. Nursing was found in the 3rd century in ancient Rome and was dominated
by men. Since the 20th century women have dominated the nursing profession. Actually, in the
1897 American Nurse Association was founded, and no men were allowed. The rule eventually
changed in 1930, allowing men the right to be a nurse. Are male nurses accepted by female
nurses? I feel like if you are in the nursing profession and don t understand that there is a shortage
of nurses in the world then it shouldn t matter if they are male or female. Every gender should be
accepted. The require for male nurses is on a rise, partly because there is a growing demand for
nurses in general. That also

of poetry that includes, Satires, Songs and Sonnets, and later his Holy Sonnets. The nature of
Donne s poetry often stems from his Christian beliefs that directly show what he believes true in
many aspects of life. Donne s writings often encompass his religious and philosophical beliefs,
which tie into, what he believes about love and death. Donne s religious and philosophical beliefs
as well as the circumstances, he was born into greatly influenced the content of his poetry. Donne
grew up in a Catholic family and had Jesuit relatives and teachers during a time when the Catholic s
were being persecuted. Donne attended Oxford and Cambridge University... Show more content on

Donne grew up around death, such as the death of his younger brother who died of a fever in
prison as well as the death of his wife who died during childbirth, these circumstances as well as
his Christian belief of eternal life are likely responsible for the way Donne views death For
instance, in his poem Death Be Not Proud, Donne personifies death and the speaker tells the
reader to not be afraid of death because it ultimately has no power and is comparable to the type
of peace felt in rest or sleep and then goes on to explain that death is more like a sleep before
going into eternity. Donne writes, One short sleep past, wee wake eternally, and death shall be
no more; death thou shalt die (Donne 13 14). Amy Cothran compares this type of message to
Paul in Bible, Donne, echoing Paul s counsel to give us a true victory song that emboldens at the
same time that it comforts (103 104). Although Donne believes one should not fear death, he
does not deny that the death of someone can have a deep effect on a person. For example,
Donne s poem A Nocturnal Upon St. Lucy s Day in centered around how death can leave one
feeling as if they are dead. he writes, For I am every dead thing and I, by Love s limbec, am the
grave, Of all that s nothing ( Donne, 12, 21 23). The lovers death affects the speaker to the extent
of him feeling as if she is the light and the body upon whom he depended for both presence and
illumination, her death has left him not only physically but emotionally emptied (Hollingsworth
94). Another poem in which Donne explains how the death of another person can deeply affect
someone is in Mediation Seventeen. In this poem Donne opens talking about a funeral bell,
which is a metaphor for death, he then goes on to explain the bell calls us all and then asks, But
who can remove it from that bell, which is passing a piece of himself out of this world (Donne
1.12, 2.9).

The Importance Of Traveling
You worked really hard to get your miles and points in the bank. Don t let that potential vacation
currency go to waste. Here are some helpful tips to keep your miles from expiring.
Below the useful tips is a table with the major airline and hotel expiration deadlines.
Know The Expiration Dates
Each frequent flyer program has slightly different rules for when their miles expire. For some
international airlines, it can be up to 3 years. For most programs in the US, accounts expire after 18
months of inactivity.
This means that if you let your miles account sit for 18 months, and neither earn nor redeem a
mile, you will lose them all. And this seems to take people by surprise pretty frequently. Points

But it makes sense to link your cards to a dining program, like Rewards Network. It s always a nice
surprise to get an email that you ve earned miles after eating at a random cafe in a town you ve
never been to before. This free option is worth signing up for.
Move points around
For the most part, you can t transfer points between airlines. You can also transfer points from Bank
Rewards credit cards to airlines.
If you have credit card points through American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate
Rewards, or Citi ThankYou cards, you can transfer those points to selected airline partners.
Members of the Starwood Preferred Guest program can transfer points to over a dozen different
airlines. That s the benefit of a flexible and transferable points programs.
In most cases you ll need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 points. Although Starwood Preferred
Guests Platinum members can transfer as little as one point to an airline program.
Some airlines also allow you to donate a handful of miles to charity, which can be a good option in
a pinch. You can also move miles between one person s account to another.
Keep in mind, some airlines charge a transfer fee this. Not the best option.
Buy Miles
When I was in a pinch a few years ago, I bought a 1,000 miles to keep the loyalty account active.
This was in my novice days when I was still learning. Although spending $15 to reset the clock
seemed like a good idea at the time, there are other

  • 2. The Film Grizzly Man The film Grizzly Man aims to demonstrate the common cliche, not everything is how it seems. It follows a man of the name Timothy Treadwell: his life before his death, his actual death, and the impact of his death. He spent 13 summers of his life within close proximity of grizzly bears until one takes his life. Before this event, the public only knew him as a passionate nature enthusiast, with his focus mainly on bears. They found entertainment in watching a cheerful idiot embracing these animals as friends. However, the film makes an effort to show that Treadwell has more depth as a person by examining his past and consulting with those close to him for why his life lead up to this point. • 3. Portrayal of Women in Rap and Music Videos Essay Misogyny and degradation of women is present in almost every genre of music, yet the one genre that completely revolves around demeaning women is rap. Over the years rap and rap music videos have continually become more sexual and degrading towards women. Rap has been criticized numerous times for this reason, and that is because rap is one of the most popular genres of music for the younger generations. It is more than a genre of music, it is a complete industry filled with clothing and other merchandise. The reason this constant demeaning of women exists is because rap as a genre that rewards the objectification of women. The excuses used to justify the misogyny in rap are incomplete and lack accurate support. The most effective way... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A rapper couldn t use a line describing what she did in the movie, let alone film it in a video, without getting heat for it (Keyes 256). While some may choose to side with this argument, rap truly takes sexual portrayal of women in both music videos and songs to the next level. In rap music videos, diamond covered rappers stand next to cars as scantily dressed women dance around them. This is the premise of the majority of rap music videos and both young girls and boys all over the world see the constant objectification of women in these videos. Naturally this concerns the parents of these kids, and many critics believes that the images kids see on T.V directly correlate to their development and thinking: exposure to rap music videos, which is explicit about sex and violence and rarely shows the potential long term adverse effects of risky behavior, may influence adolescents by modeling thee unhealthy practices (Thrash). Parents should become more aware of these videos, and make sure that their young daughters are not watching them. Yet, once they get to the age where they could be recruited for these videos it is important that they are educated about this industry. This education should come from the home, but I think it would also be important to provide workshops for girls about this issue. Since anorexia is such a problem among girls many companies and organizations put together workshops to educate young girls. One example of this is Dove s Self Esteem ... Advanced Nursing Philosophy When discerning about my respective philosophy of nursing, I think back to all of the theories and elements of advance nursing that we have been educated on throughout the duration of this program. I have stepped back and considered the following three elements for the construction of my philosophy: 1) the definite science, 2) the constructive knowledge, and 3) the position in which nursing lies as a societal arrangement. For further construction of the advanced philosophy, it was vital to consider the four paradigms contusive to nursing: 1) human beings, 2) health, 3) environment, and 4) nursing. • 5. Ancient Roman Civilization The Ancient Roman Civilization was one of the most advanced and successful societies of their time. But what led to their victory? Between the years 509 BCE and 120 CE the Romans developed their dominance of the ancient world. Their location was key to their reign as it allowed trading throughout the Mediterranean sea. Their ability to create infrastructure was a tactic they used to further define themselves as a global superpower. They were able to create a complex road system that allowed them to travel and trade with nearly everyone around them. They also built a water system so advanced there was a choice in temperature. These developments would ve been meaningless without the inhabitants. The citizens of the Roman Empirewere broken down into classes; there are debates as to whether or not this was beneficial. Regardless, the social structure greatly affected this civilization. The Roman civilization constantly surpassed standards that no one had ever attempted to change. They were certainly a force to be reckoned with. The Mediterranean Sea was a central component of the Roman Empire. With several societies nearby the Romans were able to trade constantly. There was always a variety of products circulating which led to a diverse culture and lifestyle (Bednarz 81 82). Goods that could not be produced in Rome were shipped in from other places like Italy, Greece, Africa and even Spain (Robinson 1). This trading was appealing to the citizens because they could purchase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reducing the likelihood of an accident requires the enforcement of necessary traffic laws and the use of appropriate safety measures. With that being said, traffic regulation should be a priority. Traffic laws are great advocates for road safety, but a law cannot enforce itself nor can it keep everybody safe. That is why the use of traffic and road signs is important: they enforce and they protect. In 2000 BC the Mayan s noticed that the bulb and root of water lilies gave a narcotic feeling, as well as acted as an aphrodisiac and partial hallucinogen.1 Apomorphine belongs to a class of molecules called aporphines which are present in water lilies, more specifically in Nymphaea caerulea and Nymphaea ampla.1 While mild effects were shown in parts of water lilies, scientists wanted to know what exactly caused these effects. The compounds were isolated and tested to determine that apomorphine was the most active ingredient. The concentration of apomorphine was so low in the plants that isolation was impractical so a synthesis was designed to investigate the properties of apomorphine further; leading to apomorphine being used for Parkinson s disease, erectile dysfunction, and most recently Alzheimer disease. Synthesis2: The synthesis of apomorphine was historically accomplished by an acid catalyzed rearrangement of morphine. This method typically had low and varying yields: anywhere from 0.6% to 46% yield. In 2008, a new synthesis was patented that shown yields as high as 55% to 70% yield. This new synthesis, scheme 1, uses phosphoric acid as the catalyst and phosphorus pentoxide as a water scavenger water is the by product of the reaction and the phosphorus pentoxide irreversibly binds to the water. • 15. Comparison Of Dido And Aeneas In the article Dido, Aeneas, and the Concept of Pietas, the author Kenneth McLeish argues that Dido is in the Aeneid, because Virgil, a careful writer, saw her as a necessary piece of the epic Everything she says or does is part of the design, and her presence in the Aeneid must deepen our understanding, not lessen it. McLeish explains that Virgildescribed her as being a real person with emotions, actions, and wholeness that real people possess (McLeish 127). In Virgil s time, any Roman would look at Didoas weak (McLeish 130). She was married to a king that died and left all the power to her. Romans would immediately move from love to duty as they searched for a new ruler to protect their land. Dido, on the other hand, vowed against that very thing, placing devotion to romance over devotion to duty and government. Because of this, pious Romans would have urged Aeneas to move away from the weak ruler in pursuit of a greater prize, Rome. In direct contrast to Dido, Aeneas is a perfect picture of the pietas that Romans aimed to exemplify in their lives as citizens. He mourns for the fallen Troy when sees the Trojan War depicted in Dido s temple, showing his deep care for his city (McLeish 128). Dido s stark contrast to the Roman belief system at the time was specifically designed by Virgil to pull the support of the Romans to the divine mission of Rome and to encourage pious behavior among them (McLeish 131). Had Virgil depicted Dido as a role model after Aeneas left her, the purpose of the epic to encourage patriotism would have been compromised. Dido s purpose was to rally the allegiance to Rome and a sense of Romanness. Dido s very first encounter with Aeneas shows how she will lead to her own destruction (McLeish 129). Her first thought of Aeneas was purely smitten for his beauty, so she was already planting a seed in her own mind that she might have found the next king of Carthageeven before Cupid s influence took hold of her mind. McLeish s view shows that Virgil did not write Dido to be glorified or even sympathized with, but that she was written as a bad example (McLeish 132). Flooding can cause serious property damage and harm the lives of people and other species. Floods can be caused by many reasons such as, high tides, hurricanes, tsunamis, heavy rains, broken dams and more. Floodcontrol is used to help prevent disasters caused by flooding waters. Flood control is important everywhere, but it is even more important in areas where there are large amounts of water like the Mississippi River, the Gulf Coast, East and West Coast, and even the Great Lakes. There are many more areas, but those are just to name a few. In areas like these, flood control is a public good because everyone has the ability to benefit from whatever is being used to control the flood such as, dams, levees, sea or break walls, sand bags etc. Public goods are not excludable nor rival in consumption which means everyone has access to it. The government provides money for flood control to be built making them a public good and free for everyone to use as protection against floods. Since flood control is free and the government pays for the flood prevention this means it is a free market. A free market is an economic system where price is determined by unrestricted competition. Connecticut law made it illegal for doctors to dispense birth control to their patients. The court ruled that the law violated the Constitution not because it was passed or applied improperly, but because it denied that patients their right to privacy. Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that everyone that wants to vote will need to show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken. This applies because it goes against a person right to speech and freedom. One good example I like to think due process came from was from the Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did not immediately punish them. The first thing that God did was ask Where art thou Adam? Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by asking Didn t thou eat the forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? Though the countries of Ghana and the Ivory Coast provide 70 percent of the world s cocoa supply(2?) horrible work conditions persist in the agriculture sector. Starting in the late 1990 s, reports of slave labor on cocoa farms began to appear in the media. Many of the child workers were under the age of 12, and were sold into indentured servitude for as little as $140. These children were made to work for 12 hour days for annual salaries between $135 to $189(4?). The main characteristics that a jersey should have are the ability to disperse sweat easily, light weight, durable, breathable and comfortable to be worn. In the past, the materials used to make jersey were 100% cotton, 100% polyester and polyester cotton blend. Each material can produce jersey with special characteristics. For 100% cotton, the jersey will have a good durability and utility as cotton is stable chemically. Besides that, cotton is inherently soft and hypoallergenic. One of the most significant results of World War 1 was the formation of a lost generation. By drinking, Barnes is able to forget his melancholy post war attitude towards the world. The dependence on alcohol is a side effect of the mental damage Barnes sustained from the war. Drinking is also how Barnes friend Campbell copes with his outlook on the world after the war. After discussing his fiancee, Brett, and her relationship with a bullfighter, Campbell, also a WW1 veteran, exclaims, I think I ll stay rather drunk. This is all awfully amusing, but it s not too pleasant. It s not too pleasant for me (Hemingway 205). • 27. Sustainable Development Is Possible For Academic Research During the last eleven years my work in Belize has evidenced that sustainable development is possible when academic research incorporates community direction, and recognizes local expertise as a component in the formation of new knowledge. Indeed, we are able to manage problems and in many cases improve lives by collaborating to undertake community driven and academically supported initiatives. What is sometimes misunderstood in the context of academia, community based research promotes the creation of new knowledge through multiple sources including academia, local tacit expertise, and cultural context (Strand, Marullo, Cutforth, Stoecker, Donohue, 2003). Collaborative solutions to issues and challenges that work within the parameters of local resources are paramount to sustainability. Moreover, sustainability is critical in effecting a lasting improvement in the human condition. The projects that I implemented in December of 2014 and December of 2015 particularly those directed at soilquality are indicators of the effectiveness and sustainability of these collaborative efforts. Although these projects may seem diverse, in the context of addressing the challenges of food insecurity, poverty, lack of access to clean water, and environmental degradation; interdisciplinary solutions in the framework of the integrated natural resource management model could be employed to resolve these issues (Sanchez, Palm, Buol, 2003, p. 159). • 28. Database Management Systems and the Growth of the Internet... Recent inventions and technical advancements have changed the appearance and indeed, the entire capability of the internet as most people know it. Many events have contributed to this change, but none so much as the processing method known as Database Management Systems (DBMS). From its birth in the last century, the way computers process information has grown and expanded to a point that would have been hard to imagine for the early programmers. This growth actually spurred on the growth of the telecommunications industry. Carrier systems have grown with the advancing march of computers in general, but the huge amount of data required by DBMS created a need for massive carrier capability and the birth of what we call the internet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With guidance from Watson, the concept of a database was created during the 1920 s. IBM and DBMS was literally born out of a spark flamed on by the Bell system (Newton, 2004). About 1930, the Bell System started the data communication revolution by testing various carrier system technologies and releasing a remote calculation device known as the Complex Number Calculator (CHMT, n.d.). While the initial transmissions only carried numeric data, development of alpha numeric coding would open the door to the carrier systems advancements. Clearer circuits were required to allow error free service to the new computing systems. While the Bell System advanced the carrier capability, the data itself became increasingly complex as well. In the early years, the circuits were simple dialed telephone circuits that eventually graduated to dedicated or non switched connections that let the machines interact directly. Claude Shannon s paper The Mathematical Theory of Communications showed engineers how to code data so they could check for accuracy after transmission between computers. Shannon identified the bit as the fundamental unit of data and, coincidentally, the basic unit of computation (Shannon, 1948). The database science grew in leaps and bounds, from the early file systems, to hierarchical and networked architectures, to the first relational style systems like IBM s ... • 29. Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare The play Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare depicts the Roman Empire from a very traditional perspective within each of the characters. Shakespeare creates a visual of historical Rome that includes many blood battles, deception, courage and loyalty not just to Rome and her people, but to one s family. By doing this, Shakespeare shows the reader that Rome was a great city of power that revolved around the idea that justice must be of an equivalent manner suitable to the crime committed by the other party. The word Rome , both historically and in modern times, is often defined as being the perfect model for an advanced civilization, and many looked upon Rome and Romans as being examples of excellence for architecture and political advances within a society . ( Rome , OED Online). The word Rome is seen frequently throughout the play and is used by almost all of the characters. It is a word that describes what Roman civilization entails and how the city of Rome can be a very dark and cruel city. The Roman characters in particular describe the two main concepts of Rome and Roman by means of traditional birth right and traditional forms of justice. Both meanings are seen frequently amongst each Roman character. By fully understanding why particular events in the play occur and being able to see the traditional aspects of the word Rome among each character, it aids the reader in understanding how the play revolves around the historical context of Roman values of ... • 39. Gender Discrimination In Nursing Today, most people perceive nursing as a women profession. Men who enter this field have been looked at as outcasts. Many individuals feel that a man does not belong in a female profession. I believe that statement to be untrue and unfair. The issue of gender discrimination in nursing is the same as any other professions. The only difference is nursing is dominated by women, and men are the minority fighting for equality. My goal in this paper is to help you understand why I m arguing that men should be welcomed in the nursing profession. Genderor sex discriminationinvolves treating an employee or a category of employees differently because of gender. Whenever this discrimination affects the terms or conditions of employment, it is illegal. Gender based different treatment of employees with regard to pay, title, position, hours worked and vacation time is generally considered illegal and wrong. Just 2.7 percent of the working nursing population in the United States are men. To understand why nursing is dominated by women we have to analyze the history. Malenurses may belong, but there s still not many around. According to the U.S. Labor Department statistics, 6.7 percent of registered nurses were male. Gender discrimination in nursing exists because of prejudices male students encounter in the classroom, in the workplace and with patients. Over the years discrimination of males in the nursing has declined but just like racial discrimination it still exists. To understand gender discrimination in nursing we must first understand the past. Nursing was found in the 3rd century in ancient Rome and was dominated by men. Since the 20th century women have dominated the nursing profession. Actually, in the 1897 American Nurse Association was founded, and no men were allowed. The rule eventually changed in 1930, allowing men the right to be a nurse. Are male nurses accepted by female nurses? I feel like if you are in the nursing profession and don t understand that there is a shortage of nurses in the world then it shouldn t matter if they are male or female. Every gender should be accepted. The require for male nurses is on a rise, partly because there is a growing demand for nurses in general. That also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Donne grew up around death, such as the death of his younger brother who died of a fever in prison as well as the death of his wife who died during childbirth, these circumstances as well as his Christian belief of eternal life are likely responsible for the way Donne views death For instance, in his poem Death Be Not Proud, Donne personifies death and the speaker tells the reader to not be afraid of death because it ultimately has no power and is comparable to the type of peace felt in rest or sleep and then goes on to explain that death is more like a sleep before going into eternity. Donne writes, One short sleep past, wee wake eternally, and death shall be no more; death thou shalt die (Donne 13 14). Amy Cothran compares this type of message to Paul in Bible, Donne, echoing Paul s counsel to give us a true victory song that emboldens at the same time that it comforts (103 104). Although Donne believes one should not fear death, he does not deny that the death of someone can have a deep effect on a person. For example, Donne s poem A Nocturnal Upon St. Lucy s Day in centered around how death can leave one feeling as if they are dead. he writes, For I am every dead thing and I, by Love s limbec, am the grave, Of all that s nothing ( Donne, 12, 21 23). The lovers death affects the speaker to the extent of him feeling as if she is the light and the body upon whom he depended for both presence and illumination, her death has left him not only physically but emotionally emptied (Hollingsworth 94). Another poem in which Donne explains how the death of another person can deeply affect someone is in Mediation Seventeen. In this poem Donne opens talking about a funeral bell, which is a metaphor for death, he then goes on to explain the bell calls us all and then asks, But who can remove it from that bell, which is passing a piece of himself out of this world (Donne 1.12, 2.9). ...
