Computers can be classified in several ways, including by the type of data they process, their size and capacity, and number of users. There are four main types of computers: analog computers, which process continuously varying analog data; digital computers, which are most common today and process data using binary digits; hybrid computers, which combine aspects of analog and digital; and microcomputers, including personal computers, laptops, and smartphones. Computers also vary in size from microcomputers to mainframes and supercomputers, with the latter being the largest and most powerful. Mainframes support hundreds of users simultaneously while supercomputers can perform the fastest processing.
