Economic Impacts Of The Mongol Empire
Towards the end of the post classical period, during the early twelfth century new empires rose
to power. Specifically, the Mongol Empire located in the steppes of Central Asia. The Mongol
Empire was started by Genghis Khan who was part of a nomadic clan. Khan used his position as
leader of the clan to unite all the clans in the area to create a very powerful army, which he then
used to expand further and conquer empires such as China, Russia, the Middle East, and and the
city of Baghdad creating the Mongol Empire. The Mongol Empire controlled the most land of any
empire. As the Mongol Empire conquered new Empires they effected them through the
environment, social classes, politically economically, and their culture. Two empires that the
Mongol Empire had an effect drastically on was China and Russia politically and economically.
The Mongol Empire improved China and Russia economically by facilitating trade routes
stabilizing China economy and helped Russia semi stable their economy. Politically the Mongol
Empire enforced a system which united the people in China and helped Russia develop a political

Women in Pakistan
Afshan Jafar claims that the position of women in Pakistan is the product of specific, historical,
political and cultural forces (53). In this paper, we will examine the historical and contemporary
cultural and political forces that influence women in Pakistan. Particular attention will be given to
the influence of General Zia al Haq on women s rights; this will be illustrated by examining
Pakistani government policies on women before, during, and after his rule. The historical and
contemporary cultural and political forces are different in the influence on women. In the past,
Pakistani women were generally limited, but more respected at home. This is a significant change
compared to the public degrading that they faced during and after... Show more content on

Along with the Hudood laws came the Zina Ordinances, which are a part of the Islamic defined
reform system of the legal and social structures (62 ROUSE). These ordinances sought to modify
laws in order to conform the existing Islamic laws with the Law of Evidence and the Law of
Blasphemy (KHAN 1). They were related to adultery, fornication, rape, and prostitution, matters
that mostly involve women (JEFFREY BASU). Under the Zina Ordinances, a predetermined
punishment is assigned to offenders based on the reading of Sura, Chapter 24, and verse 2 of the
Qur an (Khan 2).
The woman and the man Guilty of fornication Flog each of them With a hundred stripes Scholars
who study Sunnah established a legal interpretation based on this verse В– the punishment of one
hundred stripes was only to be applied to unmarried persons. If you were married and found guilty
of fornication, the traditional punishment was death. Under the Zina Ordinances, this became the
first time in Pakistan s history that illicit sex became a crime against the state, punishable by death
(Khan 2). If it cannot be proved that rape occurred, then the act of sex becomes a crime against the
state. No woman has been put to death under these laws but frequent whippings occurred (Khan 3).
Also among the Zina Ordinances is the requirement of a Muslim judge for trials, especially in the
higher courts. A non Muslim

A Comparison Of White Heat And The Godfather
Almost as soon as the gangster film genre was introduced, countless outside forces began to
influence how its films were made. A large influence was the Production Code Administration,
which served as the official watchdog of the industry by setting rules for production companies and
their films (Friedman 407). Since the PCA often called for gangster protagonists to be killed under
violent and humiliating circumstances so their criminal lifestyle could not be glorified, the
archetypal plot of the gangster filmgenre easily shaped itself around the gangsters rise and fall
(Friedman 416). However, over time, the circumstances in how this plot line can be depicted has
been challenged as the genre has pushed into new territory. In examining two such films, White
Heat and The Godfather, the ability of the genre s archetypal plot to not only vary but to last and
grow throughout history is made abundantly clear. When White Heat was released in 1949,... Show

The film follows the story of Michael Corleone, as he becomes further and further involved in a
life of crime. While the film does depict Corleone s rise to power, the gangster s downfall is not
portrayed in the same manner as other films of years prior. The Godfather begins with Corleone
as an outsider to the criminal lifestyle, but as it continues, the character takes a turn towards the
nefarious, at one point even stating, Where does it say you can t kill a cop? (The Godfather).
Though the character s actions are initially motivated by the desire to protect his family, the end
of the film indicates that Corleone has placed his life of crime above the sacred element of family
he initially set out to protect. In the final minutes of the film, Corleone shamelessly lies to his wife
before a door is symbolically shut to block her out, demonstrating a new take on the traditional fall,
which is not of the gangster, but of the

Premarital Cohabitation And Premarital Marriage
To Be or Not to Be
Feeling the excitement of moving boxes from a car into a new building apartment. A boyfriend
standing in the middle of the bed room floor trying to decide where the dresser should be placed,
and who gets which drawers. The girlfriend staring at a blank wall visualizing how to decorate to
make it more home feeling for the both of them. The couple is smiling from the happiness knowing
that the relationship is advancing to the next stage which is moving in together. This, my friends, is
an ideal scenario of moving into an apartment with your significant other before marriage, which is
known as premarital cohabitation. Some couples participate in premarital cohabitation which is
becoming part of a lifestyle for younger couples. Students that are in college, or young adults
around 20 to 30, and even students that just graduated high school are moving in together. Couples
who participate in premarital cohabitation, affect the divorce rate, involved in premarital sex and
is allowing the couple to see if they have a good quality and stable relationship, and if they are
compatible for each other.
Premarital Cohabitation Couple who participate in premarital cohabitation is becoming apart of a
lifestyle for younger couples. In the example below nearly 2/3 of newlyweds have cohabited prior
to their first marriage. Since the 90 s premarital cohabitation with one s spouse is not related to
martial instability. To be honest, I am actually living with my boyfriend.

The Horrors Of Passover
This is about an interesting book about passover. If you want to hear about the horrors of

in world war 2. What happens both the movie and the book. A girl named Hannah had to go over
to her grandparents house for passover. She didn t want to go but still she did. She says she tired
of remembering and that was what started everything. When she got to her grandparents house
she was not all excited. When they have dinner on every passover they must open the door. Well

The Road
The Road is an enthralling movie experience of the book that brings out powerful
emotions to the audience by visually depicting the sacred connection between father and son.
The world has practically ended and it is up to the survivors to choose how they keep
living in this post apocalyptic world. Many people resort to cannibalism which our main
characters did not, for they are the good guys that are carrying the fire everywhere they go.
Through many ordeals and nightmares of being eaten, our father and son duo learns from each
other on how to still be human in this godforsaken world.
Despite the dark and grim theme, this movie gave me a pleasant surprise. A lot of people
may not like the movie for its gore and violence, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adults, especially ones with children will be able to
sympathize with the movie very well. Most parents will be able to appreciate the messages that
are being imparted from the movie to the audience, reaching the full potential of the film as
intended. Teenagers, on the other hand, would also be interested in this movie, mainly because of
its post apocalyptic genre that has been booming in the past few years.
In the movie, a lot of green screen was used, and I am surprisingly okay with it. The
movie was shot beautifully, camera angles succeeded in showing the bleak backgrounds and a
very good atmosphere creation overall. Hillcoat also likes to do a lot of close ups which would
be very corny if the actors were not able to perform as intended. One thing that bothered me at
the end of the movie is the fact that another family was following the father and the son all along.
What would be the reason for that? I feel the need for that to be justified.
Overall, the movie is quite depressing, but in a good way. It is definitely not a movie that
you can easily watch and relax to, but altogether an intense experience. This movie is also a

Negative Consequences Of Extracurricular Activities
Extracurricular activities have been around and impacted several lives for many years. An
activity allows people to express who they are and what they believe is right. Fifty seven percent
of children between 6 and 17 years old participate in at least one after school extra curricular
activity, according to a new report released today from the U.S. Census Bureau (Bureau).
Extracurricular activities are seen as a way to enhance learning, socialize with their peers, busy
work, or to keep someone from getting in trouble. Although to some people it appears that
extracurricular activities have several negative consequences, there are various positive benefits to
mental, emotional, social, and physical health. Some negative consequences... Show more content

This can cause frustration from the individual as well as others. Since some extracurricular
activities do not allow grades to be below a certain level, participants may get revoked from that
activity and possibly other activities. While the negative consequences seem to be the most
influential, the positive benefits help a person grow and develop. Extracurricular activities have
helped develop a person s health socially. With several jobs and everyday activities require some
form of being able to socialize with other people. Moreover, they learn sharing and caring, all at
once (Reddy). At a young age, we encourage children to share and care about other children and
people. The extracurricular activities are helping older students, who didn t learn that as a child,
to share and create a bond between people. If students are not actively involved in extracurricular
programs, they are not in a position to take advantage of the educational and social benefits those
programs have to offer (Vinoski). Without extracurricular activities, students are forced to socialize
with their peers at school or at work and those may not be the best relationships. Those
relationships can either affect a person s attitude and social behavior in a positive or negative way.

Rational Expectation Hypothesis Proposed By Lucas ( 1973 )...
According to rational expectation hypothesis proposed by Lucas (1973) and Sargent (1971),
economic participants can make full use of all the information they can get to forecast the future
inflation and will not make systematic mistakes. To be specific, inflation expectations lead to a
faster pace of currency circulation. As inflationexpectations rise, people feel that they will suffer
losses due to the weakness of purchase power, and therefore do not want to continue to hold
trading and preventive currency. This will speed up the flow of money, resulting in more money is
created in the market and rising price level. Moreover, inflation expectations often makes people to
increase the purchase of real or financial assets rather than holding the money, considering hedge
risk or make investment. As a result, the monetary supply become overabundance so that promote
the rise of price level.
Dotsey and King (1983) implied the aggregate supply and rational expectation theory to explore the
monetary policy. Consequently, they suggest that the supply hypothesis and rational expectation
are conducive to the draft of an activist monetary policy. Therefore, the implementation of the
policy of the central bank should make the general price level changes can be identified by
economic agents. Dotsey and King (1983) state that under the rational expectation assumption, the
changes of money supply response to movements of interest rate can be identified by the agents in

Bruno Innocence
The boy in striped pyjamas by John Boyne is a world war two novel centered around a very unique
child named Bruno. Who s naivety and childhood innocence led to his death.
Throughout the book, Bruno displays childhood innocence. We first see Bruno s childhood
innocence when he is called into his Father s office to discuss why his family is moving away from
their lovely home in Berlin. After their conversation, Bruno begins to leave the room when he
turns around and salutes his Father before saying Hale Hitler . This shows childhood innocence
as Bruno believes that the phrase Hale Hitler is a nicety or greeting whereas it is a way of
worshipping a horrid dictator.
Bruno continues to display childhood innocence during the middle of the book.

The Pros And Cons Of The Disarmament Treaty
With recent tensions rising between North Korea and the world, it is no surprise that the Japanese
citizens are realighting themselves towards a nationalist government. Japanese Prime Minister Abe
has started to consider revoking the disarmament treaty. Revoking it would let Japan increase
spending in the military which would ultimately result in a much larger and advanced military.
Although rearming the Japanese military would instil security in the country, it would only
increase the tension, affecting negatively to both myself and future generations of Japanese citizens
through series of unjustifiable call of duties. A disarmament treaty was put into action by the United
States after the surrender of Japan during world war two. Under the treaty, Japan cannot build a

If we factor that in, a defence force is also obsolete since the United States has over 50,000 active
personal present in Japan. The United States has several military bases all around Japan,
housing highly advanced weaponry and highly trained members, ready to defend in case of an
attack. The only reason the United States is backing Japan in this conflict is because of the
disarmament treaty. Breaking the treaty would result in Japan losing support from its most
powerful and closest allie. With a nationalist president in the US, The people in the US would
start to look at us Japanese as another threats to the world, leading to prejudice among the
Japanese living in the US. History has taught us that if a country is a threat, the citizens are the
ones who is most damaged. The Japanese population could possibly be put into incarceration

treaty safeguards the Japanese from becoming a world wide threat, and breaking the treaty would

Religion In Brave New World
In the twentieth century, Science and technology have had a significant impact on society, and their
implications are continuing to grow. By drastically changing our means of communication, the way
we work, clothes, and food, methods of transportation, and, even the length and quality of life itself,
science has generated changes in the moral values and basic philosophies of humanity (James
Burk, Jules Burgman, and Isaac Asimov, 1985). Brave New World
, by Aldous Huxley, presents the
idea of what the twentieth century society could become if the values of order, profit, and power
continue to prevail over spontaneous creativity, mutual respect, and pleasure, and cooperative
idealism (James Burk, Jules Burgman, and Isaac Asimov, 1985). The theme... Show more content on

To emphasize, in Brave New World, John the Savage attends the death of Linda (a friend of his)
and is repelled by the idea of religion being restrained. The World Controller, Mustapha Mond,
who is responsible for conditioning the young, explains that this new world takes the concept of
religion and alters it in this [new] society in which God isn t compatible with machinery, science,
and happiness (Huxley, 6). This quotation demonstrates how science, in this new society,
replaced religious symbolism, to be ultimately replaced with technological symbolism.
Consequently, Mustapha Mond is trying to create a Utopian society where the Solidarity
Service and the communion of Soma a drug that relaxes the mind replaces religion. Additionally,
the idea of religion has also been questioned and ridiculed by Mustapha Mond. His states that,
What follows? Evidently, that we can be independent of God. The religious sentiment will
compensate us for all our losses. But there aren t any losses for us to compensate; religious
sentiment is superfluous (Huxley, 65). This quotation demonstrates his animosity towards
religion and therefore shows that the society he designed, is trapped and made to make no
mistakes and feel completely neutral about everything. Correspondingly, Individuals in Brave
New World have no reason for self denial. Henceforth, God in the brave new world is replaced by
Henry Ford head of the Ford Motor Company. Near the ending of the novel, a discussion happens
about God, and this is when many of the flaws of Brave New World are exposed. To demonstrate,
Mustapha Mond, when referring to the Holy Bible says that, they re old; they re about God
hundreds of years ago, not about God (Huxley, 237). What he s saying

пѓ A summary of what your team did during this week
On Monday, we tested our car with 50g weights, but it was not energy efficient as the energy
score decreased because I put the weights in front of the car, which made the car go slower. I
solved this issue by putting the weights in the back of the car like where the motor is. Then, I
tested our car with 100g weights on the track, and the energy score increased. As a group, we
decided to add more weights because as I put more weights on the car, the energy score increased.

The second problem I faced this week was; when I put 150g weights in the back of the car, the
car only went halfway down the track and then it completely stopped. I found out; it stopped
because the weights were blocking the wheels. I solved this issue by adjusting the weights (like I
put the weights in the back of the car so that the car can pick up the speed quickly).
After solving these issues, the car never stopped again, and I realised that the car went the fastest

the tragedy at Virginia Tech in 2006, the states are starting to rethink their position on whether

Book Review on Blood Red Snow
Blood Red Snow, by Gunter K. Koschorrek is a graphic rendition of the German War in the
Eastern front, which began in 1942. Koschorrek is a former German soldier who kept a frequent
account of his experience in the steppes of Russia and the advancement of the German battalion

1. What is Heritage Significance?
The concept of heritage significance is based upon an idea that a place or an artefact may be
historic, scientific, aesthetic or social value for the past, present and future generations. The state
of New South Wales has two main types of heritage listings known as conservation areas and
heritage items. An item listed as heritage identifies that a place or object has some heritage
significance. There are four main permitted lists for heritage listings, for places that are local such
as a council district, state wide, Australia wide and internationally. Local items of heritage
significance are listed on Local Environment Plans, at the local council. The State Heritage
Register lists our State s most significant heritage places. The Nationale Heritage List contains
details of Australia wide heritage items or places. The World Heritage List contains items of world
wide significance. There is currently 936 properties listed as outstanding universal value. Heritage
places gathered from all lists combined demonstrate and illustrate the unique history of NSW and
Australia. As physical links to

The Context Of Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis
The Context of The Metamorphosis
Directions: Use the links you have been provided (or conduct your own search) to answer the
following questions in as much detail as possible. Be sure to find connections to what you already
know about the story.
Describe Kafka s family life, especially his relationship with his father. How might this have
impacted themes or motifs in The Metamorphosis?
Franz Kafka had become the only son in a family of three daughters. By the time he was six years
old he would lose two younger brothers, Georg and Heinrich, to death in infancy. As the eldest of
his siblings, Franz assumed a role not unlike Gregor Samsa s: taking upon himself the
responsibilities of supporting the family.
[Encyclopaedia Britannica points out Franz was closest to his younger sister, Ottla, and identified
strongly with his maternal ancestors, but was not particularly close with his mother.]
The Kafka family lived comfortably: his mother belonged to the upper German Jewish bourgeoisie
and his father, demanding and often characterized as tyrannical, was a Czech merchant among the
prestigious environment of German Prague.
These two vastly conflicting ideologies resulted in infighting between his parents (likely caused
by his father) as Franz and his siblings grew up. It is said that Hermann Kafka was domineering
and business obsessed, and that he trivialized young Franz s literary aspirations; and Julie Löwy,
while she didn t share her spouse s temperament, could neither

Red Lobster Analysis Essay
Red Lobster Altering Perception through Improved Positioning
Given the changes in Red Lobster s strategy over the past few years and the surprising ability to
attract new, experiential customers, it our recommendation that they modify their strategy to focus
on pursuing this type of clientele. We will go into further detail momentarily; however, the reason
for focusing on the experiential customer group is that Red Lobster has the opportunity to increase
revenue and net operating income at each restaurant by 20% or more. Granted, these are
enormous gains and it will take a few years to realize their full potential, but for the reasons laid
out below, we believe these gains are a realistic possibility.

Together, they developed a new menu around freshness. Next, wood fire grilling was introduced,
as research showed it was the most preferred way of cooking seafood. This was a very effective way
of repositioning the brand, as it helped to shift perceptions away from the fried foods of the past to
the new fresh preparation methods. Furthermore, grill masters were introduced, and the position
quickly became the most prestigious job in the restaurant. This was also highly effective, as it
added a higher quality feel to the food, and served a dual purpose as the centerpiece of the marketing
plan in 2011. In addition, a fresh fish menu was provided to consumers, separate from the main
menu, which highlighted the daily catch. Finally, select ingredients were upgraded and restaurant
locations were remodeled in order to strengthen the perception of top quality and freshness, while
appealing to consumers other senses.
The current Red Lobster advertisements have come a long way from the all you can eat snow

wood fire grilling method of cooking and fresh fish. More recently in 2011, the sea food
differently campaign has featured a grill master as the star of the commercial, explaining how they
carefully prepare the food while emphasizing the pride they take in their jobs. These new

Local wound care and tetanus prophylaxis should also be included. Narcotics analgesics,
benzodiazepines and calcium gluconate are sufficient to relieve pain and induce muscle
relaxation. The antivenom (horse serum) is only recommended if suspicion of severe bite has
occurred, due to the risk of anaphylaxis and serum sickness. Patients who have not been
previously exposing to the antivenom can receive the plasma. Diagnostic studies include CBC
with differential, BUN, creatinine, serum electrolytes, urinalysis, and abdominal series to
distinguish the spider bite from an acute abdomen (Buttaro, Trybulski, Polgar Bailey, Sandberg
Cook, 2017, p. 199). . As a result of globalization and increase traveling bedbugs are becoming a
serious problem worldwide. These pets travel easily often riding in suitcases and sleeping bags
from place to place. Nevertheless, they can cause significant psychological and economic distress.
Patients affected by bedbug s bites may present with clustered, erythematous, and pruritic nodules,
however, they do not carry any pathologic disease and individuals do not require medications

How Successful Has the Welfare State Been in Delivering...
The majority of those who have a reasonably satisfactory understanding of the welfare state will
agree that the definition entails; a nation whereby the government undertake appropriate action to
ensure the provision of social goods and benefits. These welfare programs are usually provided
at public expense with little or no cost to the recipient of the services. Policy prescriptions
advanced by proponents of the welfare state emphasise securing a minimum standard of living for
all of the population where no one is denied an essential service which might be available to
others. This includes the production of social goods and services, the control of the business cycle
and the manipulation of total output to allow for social costs... Show more content on

In order for the welfare state to be successful at delivering equality among the population the
preceding factors must first be achieved. In order for educational equality to be attempted, financial
barriers separating those who can afford educational fees and those who cannot must be minimised
or removed. If everyone is entitled to the same opportunity of education then, equality can be
sought after. This was apparent during the period 1974 1979, where it was recognised that a
redistribution of educational resources towards girls, women and minority groups as well as
towards the working class is required. Thus, aiming at giving everyone the same opportunity for an
education. Contained in the 1998 Human Rights Act is an authoritative statement which is
essential for the basis of equality. It states that `no person shall be denied the right to education ,
although a rather basic statement, it provides the basis for equality of opportunity which is
essential since education is an investment on behalf of the wider society. The 1944 Education Act
contained the idea of delivering educational opportunity to all those that may be concerned. Thus,
the movement towards equality was evident and ever becoming a reality. In its implementation,
equality was seen as the removal of financial barriers to different types of secondary education to
permit selection based on ability and aptitude. Equality amongst all was intended with

The processor was a separate component with just a memory bus interface, and all peripherals
were attached to this bus. As integration levels increase, more and more logic is added to the
processor die, creating families of application specific service processors. The term system on
chip (SOC) is often used to describe these highly integrated processors. These SOCs include
much of the logic and interfaces that are required for a range of specific target applications. The
silicon vendors that develop these SOC devices often create families of SOCs all using the same
processor core, but with a wide range of integrated capabilities or integrated devices such as general
purpose input/output pins, network interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, PCIe, serial ports, I2C (Inter
Integrated Circuit), expansion parallel buses, DSP and integrated display controllers. Many of these
devices interface to nonvolatile storage such as NOR Flash via Serial Peripheral Interconnect

digital logic elements. Because we need to add analog capabilities, features such as flash memory
and digital/analog converters are common, but these capabilities require special features of the
silicon manufacturing process.
There are several main advantages of an SoC. First, SoC is slightly larger than a CPU,

The Role of a Nurse
1.1
Analyse the Role of the Nurse
The complex nature of nursing means that there is no single definition that encompasses every
aspect of the role of the nurse. A nurse is required to have several attributes and skills to carry out
their everyday duties; they must show compassion, empathy, excellent communication skills both
verbal and non verbal. In some cases nurses are also required to become advocators for patients
who are not able to communicate for themselves. A nurse is also required to be non prejudice and
understand and acknowledge other cultures and beliefs, for example some religions do not believe
in blood transfusions, as a nurse it is important not to judge when faced with such a dilemma.

Working under supervision is equally as important as working in a team when it comes to nursing.
It is important because a nurse is required to be competent in everything she/he does. Therefore it
is beneficial as support is provided from a senior more experienced member of staff who is able to
guide and monitor junior members of the team. Monitoring the level of care/service provided to
patients and has the simultaneous purposes of enhancing the professional functioning of the junior
member(s) (Consedine, 2004, internet).
1.3
Explain a range of ethical and moral dilemmas faced by a nurse.
Nurses face a wide range of ethical and moral dilemmas throughout their career. Ethical dilemmas
are situations in which there are conflicting moral claims. In some of these situations people do not
know what the ethically right thing to do is. They do not agree about the ethically right thing to do
and often cannot find satisfactory solutions or there are two equally unsatisfactory solutions. Or
they may know what the ethically right thing to do is, but do not want to act on this.
Do not resuscitate is becoming an increasingly common ethical dilemma. Some patients would
prefer not to be resuscitated where as others may decide otherwise. Recent cases have highlighted
the desirability to be resuscitated;

Hitler s New Man
Upon achieving power in 1933, Hitler and the Nazi state began to implement increasingly severe
measures aimed at segregating and ultimately removing the Jewish people from Germany and
eventually all of Europe. Hitler s further achievement was to create the new man. However,
meanwhile the creation of Hitler s new man was giving Germany a sense of destiny, the Jewish life
was being constricted and erased. But what exactly was this idea of a new man? The ultimate
attitude behind this new achievement was to further purify the Aryan race. One of the first steps
towards purity were the Aryan passports, but these were just the beginning of a much broader effort

Polygons have been known since ancient times. The regular polygons were known to the
ancient Greeks, and the pentagram, a non convex regular polygon (star polygon), appears on the
vase of Aristophonus, Caere, dated to the 7th century B.C.[citation needed] Non convex
polygons in general were not systematically studied until the 14th century by Thomas

each real dimension is accompanied by an imaginary one, to create complex polygons.[21] [pic]

The conventional two levels Inverter have many limitations for high voltage and high power
application. Multilevel inverter becomes very popular for high voltage and high power
application. The multilevel inverter is started with the three level converters. The elementary
concept of a multilevel converter to achieve higher power to use a series of power semiconductor
switches with several lower voltage dc source to perform the power conversion by synthesizing a
staircase voltage waveform. However, the output voltage is smoother with a three level converter,
in which the output voltage has three possible values. This results in smaller harmonics, but on the
other hand it has more components and is more complex to control. In this paper, study of different
three level inverter topologies and SPWM technique is explain and SPWM technique has been

minimize the harmonic distortion at the inverter output. This paper deals with comparison of

Rise Of Islam Research Paper
Islam s Rise The Arabian Peninsula in the early seventh century was the perfect economical,
political, social and religious setting for the rise of Islam. Its successful emergence was due in part
to the adoption and rejection of various factors which allowed Islam to mirror the socioeconomic
trends, traditions, practices and religious theories that were prevalent throughout the region during
this time period. One of the most influential events on the rise of Islamwas in the rise of Mecca as a
center of trade. Mecca s rise allowed people from various backgrounds to be exposed to and

main concepts and ideas adopted by Islam. Yet Islam... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to the rise of Islam most of the people of the Arabian Peninsula were polytheistic. Their beliefs
consisted of multiple powers that governed a chaotic and disorganized world, which mirrored their
view of society, man, and nature as separate elements. They worshiped various elements of life, like
the moon, the sun, ancestors and nature. The situation was entirely different in the surrounding
regions where there was a tectonic shift away from polytheism to monotheism. This influenced the
Arabian Peninsula because it was sandwiched between the Christian Byzantine Empire and the
Zoroastrian Sasanian Empire. The rise of Islam is quite logical in this religious climate. First and
foremost the fact that Islam is a monotheistic religion represents the overall rise in popularity of
monotheism and the decline of polytheism in the region. This was due in part to the religious
changes that came with the rise of Mecca and the intermingling of people that I previously
discussed. In this environment the idea of monotheism is introduced by traveling Christians and
Jews. This along with other concepts, theories and ideas, allowed for people to shake of the mental,

However, they both may be private, but Seymour Glass has the mindset of a child, due to the war

mindset causes him trouble adjusting to the reality of society. The cruel reality for Seymour is
the greed the people in his life have. Therefore the term Banana Fever is a reference to the greed
in society. Just like the Bananafish are greedy for bananas, humans are greedy as well. So, while
everyone is infected with Banana fever. Seymour turns to a serious solution. With this being said,

Not only do the stereotypes expressed through the characters and the play a vital role, but the
representation through body structure, style and design help create and grant these characters to be
more unique and individualistic. This allows them to contrast with other background characters and
the environment in which they live.
The way in which Disney films help maintain a respectable name for the hero is through justifying
the characters negative actions. This is present in Aladdin as he is portrayed to be a thief as he
steals a loaf of bread, just before he was about to eat the bread he then sees two children scratching
through trash to feed themselves. Aladdin in turn, gives the children the bread therefore justifying
his actions of thievery. The reasoning behind his actions help to reduce his Arabic decent and the
stereotypes related with

Electroconvulsive Therapy (OCD)
the potential to expand current treatment options to consider other options that treat the whole
person, or more specifically, the underlying roots of obsessive thoughts. As has been shown,
hypnotherapy is a viable option for the treatment of OCD, since it delves into the subconscious in
an effort to understand its origin. There are two treatment options for people with OCD: therapy or
drugs. While some literature has argued for the benefits of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and
psychosurgery, they are no longer popular options for those with OCD, since they have proven
more harmful than good. The same goes for treatment with drugs since it relies on paper
cooperation, comes with side effects, and does not last once the patient stops taking

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multilinear Events Sequencing
My apologies for my late contribution to the forum, upon review of the chapter, I would agree with
my classmates that even though it required a lot of time, it was indeed insightful and gave me the
opportunity to examine additional approaches of causation analysis which sometimes they are not
included in the Maritime Investigation training courses provided by various classification societies.
The Multilinear Events Sequencing (MES) as mentioned in the relevant chapter of the book acts as
an alternative to the ECF charts. The MES method of analysis examines the conditions that led to
an accident. However it examines the accident as a part of successful and failed tasks that executed
right before the accident. The MES approach allows the investigator ... Show more content on

Since the MORT methodology is a having a more general approach it cannot be used to identify
causes that lay with technical causes of an accident (Johnson 2002).
The Prevention and Recovery Information System for Monitoring and Analysis (PRISMA) is a
flow chart methodology similar to MORT with different stages of causal analysis of an accident
where several nodes (stages) are classified and investigated in order to examine the general causes
that led to the accident (Johnson 2002). In contrast the PRISMA method does not use AND and

13th Articles Of Faith
Good morning brothers and sisters. The topic that I was assigned to speak on today is the
thirteenth article of faith and its relevance today for young single adults. I, possibly like some of
you, remember having to recite this particular verse along with the rest of the primary kids during
sharing time. Sitting in a chair that prevented my feet from touching the floor, I can remember
feeling so clever as I substituted chased by an elephant for chaste, benevolent . Judging by some
of your smiles you know exactly what I m talking about. In my ward, the primary president asked
us to memorize all thirteen of the articles of faith before the end of the year. Despite being the
longest, the thirteenth article is the one that I remember most. I... Show more content on

Not just the ones we can stand to be around. I know that there are people who tend to irritate us
more than others, and sometimes we want to retaliate because they have wronged us in the past,
possibly on more than one occasion. As Ghandi said, An eye for an eye makes the whole world
blind.
We must follow the admonition of Paul;
There are two scriptures that define what his admonition is. The first is 1 Corinthians 13:4, 7, 4
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity caunteth not itself, is not puffed up...
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
The second is found in Philippians 4:8, it reads, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are try,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue , and if there be any

Along with the Hudood laws came the Zina Ordinances, which are a part of the Islamic defined reform system of the legal and social structures (62 ROUSE). These ordinances sought to modify laws in order to conform the existing Islamic laws with the Law of Evidence and the Law of Blasphemy (KHAN 1). They were related to adultery, fornication, rape, and prostitution, matters that mostly involve women (JEFFREY BASU). Under the Zina Ordinances, a predetermined punishment is assigned to offenders based on the reading of Sura, Chapter 24, and verse 2 of the Qur an (Khan 2). If you were married and found guilty of fornication, the traditional punishment was death. • 5. A Comparison Of White Heat And The Godfather Almost as soon as the gangster film genre was introduced, countless outside forces began to influence how its films were made. A large influence was the Production Code Administration, which served as the official watchdog of the industry by setting rules for production companies and their films (Friedman 407). Since the PCA often called for gangster protagonists to be killed under violent and humiliating circumstances so their criminal lifestyle could not be glorified, the archetypal plot of the gangster filmgenre easily shaped itself around the gangsters rise and fall (Friedman 416). However, over time, the circumstances in how this plot line can be depicted has been challenged as the genre has pushed into new territory. In examining two such films, White Heat and The Godfather, the ability of the genre s archetypal plot to not only vary but to last and grow throughout history is made abundantly clear. When White Heat was released in 1949,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film follows the story of Michael Corleone, as he becomes further and further involved in a life of crime. While the film does depict Corleone s rise to power, the gangster s downfall is not portrayed in the same manner as other films of years prior. The Godfather begins with Corleone as an outsider to the criminal lifestyle, but as it continues, the character takes a turn towards the nefarious, at one point even stating, Where does it say you can t kill a cop? (The Godfather). Though the character s actions are initially motivated by the desire to protect his family, the end of the film indicates that Corleone has placed his life of crime above the sacred element of family he initially set out to protect. In the final minutes of the film, Corleone shamelessly lies to his wife before a door is symbolically shut to block her out, demonstrating a new take on the traditional fall, which is not of the gangster, but of the ... The girlfriend staring at a blank wall visualizing how to decorate to make it more home feeling for the both of them. The couple is smiling from the happiness knowing that the relationship is advancing to the next stage which is moving in together. This, my friends, is an ideal scenario of moving into an apartment with your significant other before marriage, which is known as premarital cohabitation. The world has practically ended and it is up to the survivors to choose how they keep living in this post apocalyptic world. Many people resort to cannibalism which our main characters did not, for they are the good guys that are carrying the fire everywhere they go. Through many ordeals and nightmares of being eaten, our father and son duo learns from each other on how to still be human in this godforsaken world. Teenagers, on the other hand, would also be interested in this movie, mainly because of its post apocalyptic genre that has been booming in the past few years. In the movie, a lot of green screen was used, and I am surprisingly okay with it. The movie was shot beautifully, camera angles succeeded in showing the bleak backgrounds and a very good atmosphere creation overall. Hillcoat also likes to do a lot of close ups which would be very corny if the actors were not able to perform as intended. One thing that bothered me at the end of the movie is the fact that another family was following the father and the son all along. What would be the reason for that? I feel the need for that to be justified. Overall, the movie is quite depressing, but in a good way. It is definitely not a movie that

According to rational expectation hypothesis proposed by Lucas (1973) and Sargent (1971), economic participants can make full use of all the information they can get to forecast the future inflation and will not make systematic mistakes. To be specific, inflation expectations lead to a faster pace of currency circulation. As inflationexpectations rise, people feel that they will suffer losses due to the weakness of purchase power, and therefore do not want to continue to hold trading and preventive currency. This will speed up the flow of money, resulting in more money is created in the market and rising price level. Moreover, inflation expectations often makes people to increase the purchase of real or financial assets rather than holding the money, considering hedge risk or make investment. As a result, the monetary supply become overabundance so that promote the rise of price level. Dotsey and King (1983) implied the aggregate supply and rational expectation theory to explore the monetary policy. • 16. Religion In Brave New World In the twentieth century, Science and technology have had a significant impact on society, and their implications are continuing to grow. By drastically changing our means of communication, the way we work, clothes, and food, methods of transportation, and, even the length and quality of life itself, science has generated changes in the moral values and basic philosophies of humanity (James Burk, Jules Burgman, and Isaac Asimov, 1985). Brave New World , by Aldous Huxley, presents the idea of what the twentieth century society could become if the values of order, profit, and power continue to prevail over spontaneous creativity, mutual respect, and pleasure, and cooperative idealism (James Burk, Jules Burgman, and Isaac Asimov, 1985). To emphasize, in Brave New World, John the Savage attends the death of Linda (a friend of his) and is repelled by the idea of religion being restrained. The World Controller, Mustapha Mond, who is responsible for conditioning the young, explains that this new world takes the concept of religion and alters it in this [new] society in which God isn t compatible with machinery, science, and happiness (Huxley, 6). This quotation demonstrates how science, in this new society, replaced religious symbolism, to be ultimately replaced with technological symbolism. Consequently, Mustapha Mond is trying to create a Utopian society where the Solidarity Service and the communion of Soma a drug that relaxes the mind replaces religion. Additionally, the idea of religion has also been questioned and ridiculed by Mustapha Mond. His states that, What follows? Evidently, that we can be independent of God. The religious sentiment will compensate us for all our losses. But there aren t any losses for us to compensate; religious sentiment is superfluous (Huxley, 65). This quotation demonstrates his animosity towards religion and therefore shows that the society he designed, is trapped and made to make no mistakes and feel completely neutral about everything. Correspondingly, Individuals in Brave New World have no reason for self denial. Henceforth, God in the brave new world is replaced by Henry Ford head of the Ford Motor Company. Near the ending of the novel, a discussion happens about God, and this is when many of the flaws of Brave New World are exposed. Be sure to find connections to what you already know about the story. Describe Kafka s family life, especially his relationship with his father. How might this have impacted themes or motifs in The Metamorphosis? Franz Kafka had become the only son in a family of three daughters. By the time he was six years old he would lose two younger brothers, Georg and Heinrich, to death in infancy. As the eldest of his siblings, Franz assumed a role not unlike Gregor Samsa s: taking upon himself the responsibilities of supporting the family. [Encyclopaedia Britannica points out Franz was closest to his younger sister, Ottla, and identified strongly with his maternal ancestors, but was not particularly close with his mother.] The Kafka family lived comfortably: his mother belonged to the upper German Jewish bourgeoisie and his father, demanding and often characterized as tyrannical, was a Czech merchant among the prestigious environment of German Prague. These two vastly conflicting ideologies resulted in infighting between his parents (likely caused by his father) as Franz and his siblings grew up. Hitler s New Man Upon achieving power in 1933, Hitler and the Nazi state began to implement increasingly severe measures aimed at segregating and ultimately removing the Jewish people from Germany and eventually all of Europe. Hitler s further achievement was to create the new man. However, meanwhile the creation of Hitler s new man was giving Germany a sense of destiny, the Jewish life was being constricted and erased. But what exactly was this idea of a new man? The ultimate attitude behind this new achievement was to further purify the Aryan race. One of the first steps towards purity were the Aryan passports, but these were just the beginning of a much broader effort or revolution for Germans to accept their racial responsibilities. Kristallnacht refers to Jewish pogroms that took place in 1938. These attacks took place against synagogues, Jewish owned businesses, other Jewish establishments, and Jewish citizens in general. This was also the start to organized Nazi attacks, and the mass incarceration of the Jews. There was no clear Instructions on how to execute the violence, so it caused the destroying of Jewish property and inhumane treatment of Jewish people. Kristallnacht essentially became the turning point in the Nazis persecution of the Jewish people. It expanded the efforts to removed Jews from German economics and social life. Multilevel inverter becomes very popular for high voltage and high power application. The multilevel inverter is started with the three level converters. The elementary concept of a multilevel converter to achieve higher power to use a series of power semiconductor switches with several lower voltage dc source to perform the power conversion by synthesizing a staircase voltage waveform. However, the output voltage is smoother with a three level converter, in which the output voltage has three possible values. This results in smaller harmonics, but on the other hand it has more components and is more complex to control. In this paper, study of different three level inverter topologies and SPWM technique is explain and SPWM technique has been applied to formulate the switching pattern for three level and five level H Bridge inverter that minimize the harmonic distortion at the inverter output. Its successful emergence was due in part to the adoption and rejection of various factors which allowed Islam to mirror the socioeconomic trends, traditions, practices and religious theories that were prevalent throughout the region during this time period. One of the most influential events on the rise of Islamwas in the rise of Mecca as a center of trade. Mecca s rise allowed people from various backgrounds to be exposed to and exchange ideas about culture, tradition and religion. All these ideas congealed in to some of the main concepts and ideas adopted by Islam. Yet Islam... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prior to the rise of Islam most of the people of the Arabian Peninsula were polytheistic. Their beliefs consisted of multiple powers that governed a chaotic and disorganized world, which mirrored their view of society, man, and nature as separate elements. They worshiped various elements of life, like the moon, the sun, ancestors and nature. The situation was entirely different in the surrounding regions where there was a tectonic shift away from polytheism to monotheism. This influenced the Arabian Peninsula because it was sandwiched between the Christian Byzantine Empire and the Zoroastrian Sasanian Empire. The rise of Islam is quite logical in this religious climate. First and foremost the fact that Islam is a monotheistic religion represents the overall rise in popularity of monotheism and the decline of polytheism in the region. This was due in part to the religious changes that came with the rise of Mecca and the intermingling of people that I previously discussed. In this environment the idea of monotheism is introduced by traveling Christians and Jews. This along with other concepts, theories and ideas, allowed for people to shake of the mental, emotional, and religious restrains of the tribal society and envision new concepts of ... There are two treatment options for people with OCD: therapy or drugs. While some literature has argued for the benefits of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and psychosurgery, they are no longer popular options for those with OCD, since they have proven more harmful than good.
