The Effects Of Diversity On Hollywood And One Of The Most...
There has been many controversies about the lack of diversity in Hollywood and one of the
most recent one was the 2016 Oscars. The Oscars is an award show that showcase the best
people in front and behind the camera. Unfortunately there was barely any diversity in the
nominations this year since most nominators were white, even though there was many diverse
films that were considered Oscar worthy. With that being said, people protested that there needs
to be more diversity in these categories and some actors agreeing by using the hashtag
#OscarsSoWhite in social media. To make things worse, the Academy Awards members are
majority older white males which brought to the attention from the protesters that in order to
have diversity into the awards, the members itself needs to represent of all races so, it can be
considered a fair choice. Which make sense to why throughout history of the Oscars there was
always a discrepancy of diversity in the nominations since 1929 because only a very small
percentage of minorities actors have received an award compared to the white actors that
dominated the Oscars with a high percentage of winners. This created tension in Hollywood that
the Oscars are marginalizing itself as a all white program and that there needs to be changes. When
the nominations were being announced for the 2016 Oscars, many were surprised of the lack of
diversity and the films that were snubbed. One in particular would be Beast of No Nation, which

The World Is Too Much With Us And To Wordsworth Comparison
Being perfect examples of Romantic poetry, both The World Is Too Much With Us by William
Wordsworth and To Wordsworth by Percy Bysshe Shelley convey a similar message of loss and
death. However, Wordsworth focuses on the loss of connection between human beings and nature.
Shelley, on the other hand, directs his poem to Wordsworth himself and focuses on the symbolic
deathof Wordsworth s poetic style. For instance, in The World Is Too Much With Us ,
Wordsworth personifies the sea and winds by saying that she (the sea) [used to bare] her bosom to
the moon and how the winds that [used to howl] at all hours implying that their (sea and winds)
actions were bold and daring. He then uses a simile to compare their old daring

Igor Stravinsky Rite Of Spring
A critique of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky and Folding by Shen Wei On November 22th,
I enjoyed the Rite of Spring and Folding at Centennial Hall in U of A. Both of them shocked me
by their unique way of performances. From the very beginning, The Rite of Spring by Igor
Stravinsky strengthens in a volatile sense of harmonious movements. The Rite of Springis quite
different from classical ballets whose subtle interchange of the curvaceous, subjective lithesome in
the flow of time that romanticism savored. In this particular dance which was carefully planned by
Igor Stravinsky, Stravinsky s rhythms hit and batter; although highly asymmetric they are still
pounded in such a new way that the score requires innovation in harmonious representation to make
Stravinsky s invention workable. In this dance, there is no way are these rhythms presented subtly,
in fact, they are habitually stricken out in harmony by the huge orchestra that the work uses.
Undeniably, one of the most enjoyable facets of a noble performance, even without dance
convention, is the way that it looks. Their grey outfit and sporadic black tops make them a perfect
blend.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was as if there was nobody and only the ghost like dancers onstage accompanied by irregular
music terrified me. So as to concentrate on the listener s discernment on the rhythm, musical
material, Stravinsky at times reduces to tiny repetitive configurations of a simple two or three pitch.
In tandem with this rectilinear plainness, The Rite of Spring s gargantuan crunching
synchronizations move at the stride of glaciers, this gradual harmonic movement puzzlingly
magnifying the general sense of drive and energy. These structures of sound, although distressingly
dissonant for an audience in 1913, are selected with perfect modification, and they reinforce
Stravinsky s complete arc with a structural indemnity on a practically Beethovenian

As a research from International Journal of Business and Management about a company stopped its
automatic salary increments says that the employees of the company were not happy with that
scheme and the company tries to give training to them about that bonus scheme. So the company
ordered all the HODs (Head of Departments) to educate their respective departments on the benefits
of the new bonus scheme. After the training those employees get enough education about the new
bonus system and they agreed to the new system. And they were motivated to work harder
(Akinlolu Ayodeji Agboola amp; Rafiu Oyesola Salawu 2011).
Participation can be used to satisfy the workers, as when workers are participated and involved
in decision making process then they will have understanding that the organization needs them
and value their work. If the people actively participate they will be more likely to feel ownership
of the change and will be less likely to resist. When the employees are involved and participated in
planning and implementing the change process will have better understanding towards the
changes. Participation of managers and employees to the change approach will be able to manage
resistance to change quicker (Rosemond Boohene amp; Asamoah Appiah Williams 2012). When
employees are involved in the change effort they are more likely to buy into change rather than
resist it. This approach is likely to lower resistance

Examples Of Mall Observation
I chose to observe the library I work for, which is the Squirrel Hill location of the Carnegie Library
of Pittsburgh system. I performed my observation around 3:30 PM on Monday, September 19th.
There are technically three outdoor entrances, but two of them actually lead to the main inner
entrance. You can see the main entrance from the street, which allows paid parking. The library
itself is positioned above a parking lot (also paid parking), which is where the second main
entrance is seen. Both of these two main entrances lead to the same lobby area where you can
either take the steps or the elevator to the library floor. The third entrance is located on the
opposite side of the branch along the side street, which is residential and free parking, but you can t
see the entrance until you physically walk up the driveway.
Upon entering, there are no signs indicated the layout of the library. At potentially strategic
locations as determined by the Facilities department, there are extremely vague maps indicating
emergency exits for the building, but they are small and not very noticeable. By the main outer
entrances, there is an elevator, stairs, and a space for flyers (bulletin board and a shelf); by the
inner main entrance, there s a bench outside. Upon entering the library, the magazine collection and
first security stand is immediately to the left. On the right are New books in paperback format that
are strung up in display. Ahead is the New and Bestseller collection

Short Story Ambush By Tim O Brien
Ambush , a short story written by author Tim O Brien tells about a young soldier in the middle
of the Vietnam War. An enemy soldier approaching near O Brien while he is on watch. O Brien
is surprised by this and in an instant makes the decision to throw a grenade and kills the
approaching soldier. Years later in his life while O Brien was having a conversation with his
young daughter, she asked if he had ever killed anyone. Deciding to tell his daughter the truth or
not was just as hard as making his decision to throw the grenade. O Brien chooses to keep the
truth from her for the time being, which is something I would do too. The conversation between O

Coyote Omnivore
The Coyote, part of the biological family of canidae, look appears in between a wolf and fox, and
is an opportunistic omnivore predator and scavenger that it s native in North America. Coyote are
highly adaptable species, even when it moves into human occupied territory. They adjust their
hunting techniques to whatever prey they laid its eye onto. For huntingsmaller prey alone, they
usually stalk behind the prey and pounce onto them; for bigger prey such as deer, they hunt in small
packs and take down the prey as one. Because of their ability of adapting most habitats, like
deserts, plains, and grasslands, they can spread their habitat range all across the continent, even in
large cities in urban area (Baker Bonine 2015). Originating in the west of North America, the coyote
spread eastward into Ontario, and continue move forwards to Quebec and other eastern provinces

spatial independence are used in this study, given that a coyote s home span range will not be more
than one of the parks given that there are reasonable amount of distance between the sites.

Essay on Prevention of Animal Overpopulation
Countless lives locked away in cages and forgotten about have overwhelmed our society, it has
left blood stains on our history as a species and if history has taught us anything, it s that we have
a choice to change our ways of adjusting to situations. A war which was fought in pursuit of
ending such criminal means, yet we as human beings do little to nothing to end the horrific crimes
of animal deaths in shelters. It is no secret that this world has become infused with problems that
have extended from one side of the globe to the other. Amongst these problems lies a terrible truth:
nearly every year, sums of almost eight million cats and dogs have been placed in shelters around
the world. Out of these vast numbers, half will be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Impacting these numbers were combining cat and dog statistics, participation in rescues and
enormous numbers of incoming dogs and cats (WV Animal Shelter Euthanasia Rates) despite the
passing of animal life, there is still hope in saving them now.
There are many ways for us to help prevent overpopulation in animals, however, the most effective
way is to just spay or neuter. Spaying and neutering is basically removing the reproductive organs
of an animal so that it won t be able to produce any offspring. Of course with every new concept
in life, a series of doubts and concerns are met, in this particular case: myths. Myths such a
sudden reaction of laziness and gaining of weight from the animal due to the procedure, the
animal being purebred or special and the process interfering with future generations of animals,
causing the male cat or dog to feel less of a male, and thinking its best to have a litter of before
spaying the female pet. All such myths have been disproved as the act of laziness and weight gain
comes from the owners actions in overfeeding their animal and having absolutely nothing to do
with spaying or neutering, the reality that one out of four animals put into shelters are purebred and
the rest are mixed and therefore no mutation will come from it, the gender identity does not exist
within the pet and as a result there will be no sudden cases of emotional reaction when neutered.

Glenn McGee s Response to CRISPR
What is CRISPR?
CRISPR stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeat, referring to the
repeating DNA sequences found in the genomes of microorganisms. CRISPR technology allows
scientists to make precise changes in genes by splicing and replacing these DNA sequences with
new ones. Through these changes, the biology of the cell is altered and possibly affects the health
of an organism. The possibilities are endless as this offers opportunities in curing deadly diseases,
modifying genes, and changing humanity as we know it. Although bioengineering has been around
since the 1960s, CRISPR is significant because of the comparative low costs and the ease of the

Compare And Contrast The Renaissance Art And The Birth Of...
Artist of Renaissance created sculptures, murals, drawings and paintings. The goal of most
Renaissance at was to show the importance of people and nature, not just religion. The
Renaissance art tried to show people as lifelike and engaged in everyday activities. They also tried
to capture the world as it is. Renaissanceart reflects a rebirth of interest in the classical world. This
style arrived late to Valencia.
At those days, they could not sculpt as classical artist because all sculpture of this time was
destroyed. However, painting was easier to copy than construction. Even though no was easy to
know how Roman painted so they have to use imagination. This is evident in the case of Birth of

Canvas also cost less than wood, but it was also considered to be less formal, which made it
more appropriate for paintings that would be shown in non official locations. The theme of the
Birth of Venus was taken from the writings of the ancient poet, Homer. According to the
traditional account, after Venus was born, she rode on seashell and sea foam to the island of
Cythera. In the painting we see here, Venus is prominently depicted in the centre, born out of the
foam as she rides to shore. On the left, the figure of Zephyrus carries the nymph Chloris as he
blows the wind to guide Venus. On shore, a figure that has been identified as the goddess of spring
waits for Venus with mantle in hand. The mantle billows in the wind from Zephyrus mouth.
Botticelli paid much attention to her hair and hairstyle. He gave Venus an idealized face, which is
remarkably free of blemishes, and beautifully shaded her face to distinguish a lighter side and a
more shaded side. Of obvious importance in this painting is the nudity

Muscles Involved In A Free Throw Essay
There are many muscles involved in a free throw. The tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges are
located in the feet, allowing there to be balance in an individual s stance before the ball is
released. This is important because your feet need to be aligned correctly, facing the rim, to ensure
the shot will be successful. The patella is located in the front of the kneecap which contracts due to
the movement of the tibia, fibula and femur. While the lower body is bent, the humerus, ulna, radius
and carpals need to bend. For the individual to gain power, the patella, tibia, fibular, femur, tarsals,
metatarsals and phalanges will work together to bend, then extend the lower body. As the lower
body extends,
There are many major muscles involved in a free throw. When setting up the shot, you need to bend
your knees, which forces the soleus, gastrocnemius, tibialis inferior, rectus femoris, vastus lateralis

Flexion is the movement which decreases the angle between bones at a joint. The knee must be
flexed for balance and momentum. This is done by lowering the gluteus maximus as it allows
the knee to create this necessary movement. The elbow and wrists also need to be flexed to act
on the pressure of the ball. The movement of extension is where the angle between bones at a
joint is increased. Examples of this movement in a free throw are straightening the knee as you
begin to release the ball and straightening the elbow when the ball is released. This follows with
pronation which is when the hand and forearm rotate, making the palm face downwards. For
example, when the ball is held by the palm and then is transferred off the palm in an upwards

Personal Ambition And Self Respect By Mary Jane Ward s...
Personal Ambition and Self Respect in The Bell Jar Inspired by Mary Jane Ward s The Snake
Pit, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath was released in 1963 and discusses a great deal of how difficult
it was to be a woman in the 1960s. The 1960s was a struggling time for women; society set
standards that women felt obligated to follow. Society told women that their only jobs were to get
married, have children, and become homemakers, and if a womandid not fall under all of these
categories, she was considered a social outcast. The main character, Esther Greenwood, fears that
she will not make a good wife because she could not cook, she stood too tall, and danced poorly.
Women also had many restrictions on what they could do. For example, they could not serve on a
jury, get an Ivy League education, and they did not experience equality in the work place. Society
expected women to follow these standards perfectly, without fault. How were women to live by all
of these standards and still think of themselves as strong and independent? Alas, because society
focused so much on what women should do, that they did not appreciate some of the other things
that some women could do. Intelligence, determination, and understanding were not considered
impressive or useful to women in this time. The character Esther Greenwood in Sylvia Plath s The
Bell Jarreflects the struggle to maintain self respect and personal motivation in a society that
demands perfection. Sylvia Plath starts off The Bell Jar

Shortly after Butler was born, her father died leaving Butler s mother and grandmother to raise
her. Octavia s mother used to read her bedtime stories until she was six years old. As soon as she
got to like the stories, her mother said, Here s the book. Now you read. She didn t know what she
was setting her both up for. Just at the age of ten Octavia began to write short stories of fiction.
Octavia lived most of her life in Pasadena. All through Junior High and High School, even
college, Butler was a very shy person. She would not get up in front of class to do anything, her
teacher s thought this was because she didn t do the work and was unprepared. One time, she
even went as far as to record her presentation on a tape and turn that in instead. During her years in
school, there were three teachers who made a critical difference in Butler s development. The first

If you routinely dry tubs, showers counters and sinks, but still have an issue, check for a water
leak. Inspect under the sink and behind the toilet as well as the floors, faucets, showerheads, and
around accessible pipes for leaks. Ensure the shower door is not allowing water to leak out onto the
floor. Ideal indoor humidity is 50%, air conditioning or dehumidifiers can assist in reducing
humidity, and deterring mold. Call Benjamin Franklin s plumbers in Arlington, TX for the
replacement of worn, leaking bath fixtures.
Allow the ventilation fan to run during showers and baths, and for 20 minutes afterwards to
allow the moisture time to dry. If you do not have a ventilator fan, opening a window can be
helpful when weather permits. Consider installing a fan, selecting the correct cubic feet per
minute (CFM) rating for your bathroom. To determine the size you need, multiply the room s
square footage by 1.1 for 8 ft. ceilings, or by 1.5 for 9 ft. ceilings. The result is your required CFM.
Use an absorbent towel or squeegee to dry the shower and sink after showering or cleaning up at
the sink. In addition, if the rug outside your shower is wet, hang it up to dry. Remove wallpaper in
the bathroom, and monitor drywall for moisture to prevent mold. If drywall becomes wet, use a fan
on it to dry it, and ventilate with windows open when weather permits.

Niccolo Machiavelli Essay
Niccolo Machiavelli Around 1513 Niccolo Machiavelli while writing The Prince would not be
considered a theologian. When thinking of Machiavelli many people confuse him together with
the names of rulers who have abused his writings. It also seems other people confuse Machiavelli
with the rapper who took his name. Either way people confuse Machiavelli it seems they fail to
look at his true message, bettering the state and the greater good. Machiavelli may seem evil to

When thinking of right and wrong would it not be right to save more even though you have to
hurt some? Machiavelli is not against all that is good. Machiavelli, although thought to be, is
not against religion. Machiavelli believes religion is a great unifier. A fact many have
overlooked in his philosophy. Also it seems there is a hint of belief or acknowledgement in God
in his passage Although one should not reason about Moses, since he merely executed what
God Commanded, yet he must be praised for the grace that made him worthy of speaking with
God. But let us consider Cyrus and the others who acquired great kingdoms: they were all
praiseworthy, and their actions and institutions, when examined, do not seem to differ from
Moses, who had such a mighty teacher. This quote too could be Machiavelli simply covering his
tracks so he does not seem blasphemous and the punishment that would come with being
blasphemous. It is interesting though why he would even mention Moses when he could have
been as easily left out? Machiavelli believed for a prince to be successful he must found a state
that will not need a prince once he dies. This belief was stretched over The Prince and The
Discourses. The question though is how can a prince make himself obsolete or should he make
himself completely obsolete? The answer is no he can not make himself completely obsolete. A

summon the Kami can be either male or female. Once the Kami is said to be present, it is offered
rice or money. Followers must rinse their hands and mouths prior to entering the prayer hall
because purity is so important. Although so many shrines mark up the Japanese territory, Shintoists
can conduct simple worship from the household. Prayers are generally addressed to family
ancestors and are said with rice and tea on the godshelf as a sign of respect. Some of the most
important Kami to the Shintopeople are Amaterasu and Inari. Amaterasu is the sun goddess and is
the common ancestor to the emperors of Japan. Inari is known as the rice producer. This Kami is
highly worshipped due to rice being such a highly consumed food in Japan.

Essay On I Am Legend By Richard Matheson
In I am Legend, Richard Matheson depicted Robert Neville as another man in another life before
the plague broke out. He was a father and a husband. Your average joe working a blue collar job
in the 1950 s, facts of life that change for him once the plague took hold of humanity. He created a
safe guarded sanctuary for himself within his own home fortified by garlic and crosses from the
vampires who dominated the fallen world outside. Solitude was his only companion. Society
provided Neville with support, structure, morals, and a community. With the fall of society, Neville
priorities had changed. He had changed. Whilst the novel appears to focus heavily on alienation,
Matheson perhaps also meant to depict another underlying plot theme. The... Show more content on

When Ruth questions him as to why he kill, he responds with: Only to to survive. (Matheson

created by culture, of a hero. Due to Neville s perspective, people want to identify with heroes like
Neville and oppose villains like the vampires or the Soviet Union. Cohen argued, monsters have the
ability to illuminate the secrets of the era. Monsters may have the ability to shed light on secrets of
the era. Throughout many instances in history, both sides of war believe they are right. Both sides
ultimately demonize one another. However, history is ultimately written by its victor, as one side
will eventually win. Only one will go on to tell the story to the world. The plague had devastated
the human population and the vampires overrun the world now. Robert Neville, being on the
other side of this war, had lost. As the by product of this new world, he challenged the vampires
views. In Cohen s first thesis, the monsters are said to be born out of a particular time, a feeling,
and a place and exist as pure culture . The monsters, being a product of its time, represent the
views of the people of that era, but they can also challenge the public s view. Robert was their
monster. He served to reinterpret parts of this new society. The monsters and the views they
represent linger in the mind of their creators and

Audre Lorde s The New Misandry
When I first started to read The New Misandry I thought I was not going to like it. I was
immediately turned off by the use of this word because it has such a powerful social stigma. As I
read more closely I appreciated her message a great deal more. I particularly liked the section where
she argues that ...hurting people makes them angry, anger turns to hatewhen the anger is chronic
and accompanied by helplessness, and although you can bully or shame people into not showing
their anger, the only way to stop the anger is to stop the hurt (Russ 169). This reminded me of
The Uses of Anger by Audre Lorde. Tactically, I do think angry can be tool for change, but I
disagree that Misandry could be a productive label to use. I can see why some people would hate
men, but that does not mean I think it is healthy the person harboring all of that hatred. I want to
turn to the idea of hating Patriarchy, but I m not sure if I am simply falling into the trap that Russ
talks about at the end. Am I accepting the idea of oppression only on the condition that the real
ugly effects are ignored (Russ 170)? This is possibly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Elizabeth Barrett Browning: Her Life and the Analysis of Sonnet 43
The Victorian Era is a period of vast changes in England. Queen Victoria reigned in this period for
nearly sixty five years from 1837. In this period, England was a leading power with its colonies
around the world. The country was getting bigger but the ills of the society were also getting
bigger. Child labour and prostitution were the two of important social issues in that time. Even
though the novel was dominant as a literary genre, this period had successful poets such as
Tennyson, Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Especially, with the influence of

In the compilation, Barrett Browning wrote about her love to Robert Browning. Even though the
title refers that the sonnets are translated from Portuguese, it is just an illusion because Barrett
Browning hesitated to publish them in the beginning therefore she used the title as a guise. Sonnet
43 is one of the best known sonnets from the compilation. The rhyme scheme of the poem is
ABBA ABBA CD CD CD and written in iambic pentameter. It is a type of Petrarchan sonnet. In
the first line the poet asks a question How do I love thee? (Browning 1130), and in the rest of
the sonnet she answers her question. In the second line she draws an abstract shape of her love
by using the words depth, breadth, height . In the third and fourth lines her love turns into a
spiritual love. In the fifth and sixth lines, she claims that she can fulfil her lover s every simple
need in day or in night. In the next three lines she expresses that she loves her beloved one freely,
purely, and passionately. In the next two lines, we see that the poet s love is as innocent as a
child s faith. She loves her beloved with all her good and bad feelings. At the end of the poem,
she says if God allows, her love will last long even after her death. In the poem the author used the
alliteration as a figure of speech nearly in all lines. In the seventh and eighth lines, there are two
similes starting with the word as (1130).

Similarities Between Greek Mythology And The Holy Bible
Greek mythology and The Holy Bible are writings from the ancient civilizations. The proximity
regarding some narratives between the two publications brings about a great deal of curiosity to
inquiring minds. How and why do both texts reveal interchangeable associations and can this
phenomenon be explained?
In ancient Greece, Greek mythology began to emerge. Mythological narratives began to erupt for
the purpose of giving an explanation to certain social, religious, and environmental phenomena.
Greek stories included gods, goddesses, heroes and non human creatures.
Unlike Mythology, The Bibles narratives are actual events that took place dating back to the
beginning of time. The beginning of The Holy Bible s compilation started thousands of years
ago in the land of Egypt. The Old Testament Scriptures were written in Hebrew and were later
translated into the Greek, however, The New Testament writings were first constructed in the
Greek language. Over forty men transcribed what was told to him by God and as a result, sixty
six books make up the entire Holy Bible. The Holy Scriptures explained the creations, formation
of the world, who God is, who God s chosen peoples are, sin, and the plan of salvation as well.
Homer s The Odyssey, is an epic poem of mythology which includes twenty four books. The ancient
text centers its topics of discussion around the Trojan War, a hero named Odysseus and the
challenges he faced throughout the text. The abduction of Queen Helen by the

Example Of Justifying A Value
1.)The first example of justifying a value is when getting my car detailed. I am looking at
market value, fair value and the utility factor for the services. This service satisfies the need and
desire for a clean car to take clients out with, after it was dirtied by a tough winter. I compared
prices for similar car detailing services, and asked around for referrals from several people. Of
the two companies, one was recommended strongly. I saw examples of each work and agreed with
the highly recommended company. In my opinion, the cost at the time was fair value and,
compared to other detailers, was market value. The prices were advertised for a year without any
price increase. The second example of justifying a value is when purchasing products from

Micromolding in capillaries (MIMIC) and template assisted spin coating are two such methods.
Micromolding in capillaries is capable of producing line or stripe like patterns in perovskite
films.43 When solvated precursors are applied to a substrate with a capillary containing mold on
top, the solutions wick through the mold under the influence of capillary action. Upon removal of
solvent(s) and mold, the resulting perovskite film will retain the straight line pattern design of the
mold. This process results in comb like features, with regions of patterned perovskite stripes,
separated by void areas where no perovskite is present. Stripes are connected to each other by a
section of uniform perovskite film, where no mold was present during film growth. A relatively
straight forward method for patterning perovskites, MIMIC is largely limited to simple line
geometries. Template assisted spin coating is a similarly easy patterning technique, and, as such,
has limitations in the associated geometries which it can produce. A recent effort shows the ability
to create an inverse opal (IO) structure in perovskite films through template assisted spin coating.44
In this procedure, a monolayer of polystyrene microspheres was placed on top of the substrate

1798. Interestingly, although no original manuscript has been found, the Crewe Manuscript of Kubla

Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire
life continually revising and republishing it.
During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents
that Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a
tremendous sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock
Hills of Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that,
it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long
solitary walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return
journey, stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan.
After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking,
and consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote
a letter to his friend John Thelwall, stating,
my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is
only in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity
or majesty!
For the remainder of his life, Coleridge believed that he was unable to aptly reproduce this sense of

John Tyler started what would eventually be executed by President Polk. In 1836 Texas won
independence from Mexico. In 1844 President Tyler began negotiations with Texas which
eventually led to the treaty of annexation. Actions of President Tyler unsettled Mexicoas a
significant territory was under dispute between Texas and Mexico. James Polk succeeded Tyler in
1844 and believed in the ideology of manifest destiny whereby the influence of the US was to

For Mexico, the Treaty of Guadalupe was a big loss but it was a course they had to take to avoid

most importantly the treaty ended a war that was costly. The treaty however eventually lead to the

Solution Essay On World Hunger
First of all, what exactly causes the global hunger crisis and what has been put in place to help fix
this problem? The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this
world faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs.
(Business Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough foodfor the estimated 10
billion people in the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report
by Business Insider, statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the
problem of world hungeris harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food
availability. Food availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of
food has deteriorated in part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising
domestic food prices (BI). This makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an
entire season of crops could be ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to
get it. The drought has caused remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that
the poor population cannot get the food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food
production is that the men that are supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and
country to eat either have to stop what they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war
efforts. The latter takes

The Issue Of Genetically Modified Organisms Essay
Genetically Modified Organisms, also known as GMOs, is one of the major issues arising in
our economy today. GMOs are distinctive organisms in which the genetic material has been
altered to improve productivity and the quality of the product. Genetically modified organisms
have prominent concerns over their apparent beneficial ways in that they re resistant to disease,
help the epidemic of famine, and improve the nutritional value of foods. Having certain foods in
your everyday diet is very substantial in humans to be healthy, and to have the quality of life we
deserve. It s no secret in how GMOs have affected our products worldly. In order to bring this
epidemic to a halt we fist have to come to an understanding on how dangerous these organisms
can be. Genetically altered crops can lead to serious destruction of not only our environment, but
also contaminate our organic crops. Also major companies who work with GMOs intend to
monopolize market foods. To prevent these Genetically Modified organisms, it should be labeled
on their products, and so then people can be aware of the danger that comes with these products.
To understand genetically modified organisms, you first have to understand how they are made.
This helps you realize why they are so harmful to your body. These organisms are modified by
using bacteria and viruses. With known information like this, scientific studies have a fear of the
emergence of new diseases. Some GMO foods contain

Low Heart Rates Is Preferable When Conducting Coronary Ct...
The maintenance of low heart rates is preferable when conducting coronary CT angiography
(CCTA). Current medical publications recommend a heart rate less than 60 beats/min for optimal
image and radiation dose reduction. Patients undergoing CCTA are usually given beta blockers if
there are no contraindications one hour before the test to control the heart rate. Another method that
is used in moderating the heartrate of patients undergoing CCTA is ivabradine. Ivabradine is a
novel heart rate reducing agent that has the potential to be an attractive alternative to currently
available drugs to achieve optimal heart rate control in patients undergoing CCTA (Adile et al.,
2012). It is a specific heart rate lowering drug that acts by selectively inhibiting the pacemaker
current in the sinoatrial node. Unlike beta blockers, ivabradine does not affect myocardial
contractility, does not cause changes in blood pressure, and has no effect on respiratory function.
This study aims to focus on the differences between ivabradine and beta blockers in their respective
effects for controlling the heart rate of patients undergoing CCTA.

Significance Of The Montgomery Bus Boycott Boycott
As said by Rosa Parks, You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right .This
means that when she sat in the front of the bus she was not fearful to get arrested and move
because she wanted equal rights. The Civil Rights Movement was a mass popular movement for
African Americans equal access to opportunities for the basic privileges and rights of U.S.
citizenship. The African Americans were fighting for equal rights, and they wanted to be treated
the same as everyone else. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and social activist, who
led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. A boycott is to stop using a product for
example, the African Americans boycotted so they could stop riding the buses. The boycott was in
Montgomery, Alabama. African Americans wanted to be equal to the whites because they were
treated differently than the whites for everything. They wanted to be treated the way whites were
being treated. The boycott took place in Alabama in 1955 and ended 1956.The Montgomery Bus

Conformity Orientation In The Luncheons
My last concept is conformity orientation: refers to how strongly a family enforces the uniformity
of attitudes, values, and beliefs (page 323). The scene that ties to this concept is the second
luncheon we see with Leigh Anne. In this scene, there is a second luncheon with Leigh Anne,
Beth, Elaine, and Sherry, and this scene is incredibly different from the first luncheon we see in
the movie. The women now know that Michael is living with the Touhy s and they noticed on the
Touhy s Christmas card that Michael was also in the picture. Of course, there were some rather
rude comments made about how big and dark Michael looks next to the familythat I am sure Leigh
Anne takes to heart. This causes her to want to retaliate and defend her family

American Prison System Essay
American Prison Systems
Introduction
In many countries national prisons are operated and supplemented by provinces and state
counterparts. Prisoners are held in prisons and jails throughout the country and globally convicted
of various crimes and offenses. The nature of the offense determines where the prisoner is held and
the lengths of times. There are institutions that vary in level of security in both the state and federal
prison system. However, the majority of prisoners are sentenced and housed in state facilities in
high security facilities.

Taxpayers will experience an increase of approximately $27.5 billion over the next five years that
will be spent on prison and the prison system. (Riordan 2007).
Overcrowding in the state prison system is a continuing problem and is increasingly
uncomfortable. Capacity levels have risen in both operating and capacity in both state and federal
prison systems. This has caused local and state facilities to make inmates double up in prison cells.
In other words, cells that would normally hold to inmates at a time are now holding more convicts.
This causes even more tension and friction between inmates.
Types of Institutions
There are two types of institutions in the United States, that is private and government ran
institutions. The privately ran institutions are paid for from the states government and commonly a
lower cost to the state. The down side however, is that these facilities can choose who comes in as
an inmate or employee. The state ran facilities are a little more expensive than privately run
facilities.
Security Levels Types of Criminals

maximum security prisons, close high security prisons, medium security prisons, and open security

The Wolf In Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction
Just because you are a character doesn t mean that you have character. This was said by The
Wolf in Quentin Tarantino s movie Pulp Fiction. Tarantino opens our minds to a word with no
ordinary days and especially no ordinary people. And that s just what this movie isn t, ordinary.
There are so many twist and turns, with storylines out of order and violence mixed in with
everyday conversations. It s a movie that can get you confused and grossed out but also excited
and thrilled. It s so casually not casual and as a viewer I have such mixed feelings on it. Pulp
Fiction tells you not only one story but multiple on life through the eyes of mobsters and criminals.

Tarantino develops an array of crooks and gangsters who work in a business of money and
drugs. He makes them indulge in little conversations to express their perspectives on life and
what exactly goes through the minds of these so called ВЁbadВЁ men. Hitmen Jules Winnfield
and Vincent Vega (played by Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta) do some pretty terrible
things but still manage to have conversations that normal people have on a daily basis. For
example they were driving to kill a bunch of boys for screwing over their boss and on the way
there all the talked about was what European countries call their hamburgers at McDonalds. I
found this very comical because they are literally driving to an apartment to hunt down these
men and that is what is on there mind. Even right before they walk in they talk about the deeper
meaning behind giving a foot massage. They are so nonchalant about everything they do and I
almost admire that. Of course what they are doing is wrong but the way they make light of the
situation infers the fact of their perspective on life. People don t need to be serious and stern all
the time and Vincent and Jules prove that. That s how the movie kept me entertained because I
could relate to the characters. There weren t just hit men with no interior but men who could be
normal. I also really enjoyed the character Mia Wallace (played by Uma Thurman). Although she
was addicted to drugs she gave the audience an inside to her mind and what she thought of. Like
in the movie she talked about how if two people were so comfortable with one another then they
can sit in silence and it wouldn t be weird. She quotes ВЁThat s when you know you ve found
somebody really special, when you can just shut the f*** up for a minute and comfortably share a
silence.ВЁ I find that to be very true. If you truly are comfortable then not talking should just be
normal. Pulp Fiction does a great job composing

Objectives
In this lab, the students will examine the following objectives.
Become familiar with well known and ephemeral ports
Create ACL to meet requirements on database security demands
Learn best practices to create and apply ACLs.
Scenario
A small company is using the topology shown below. The Public Server is actually an off site
Database Server that contains company records. Assume that the 200.100.0.0/16 network represents
the Internet. The Dallas and Chicago Servers and hosts need to access the database server securely.

The ephemeral UDP/TCP ports range from 49152 to 65535.
#4. What is wrong with ACL 105? access list 105 permit tcp any any access list 105 deny tcp host
201.141.0.3 any
On this ACL you listing first to permit all TCP traffic from any source IP addressto any destination
IP address before putting first the hosts IP address except you don t want. In other words, the
second line should have been first and the first line secondly to specify that to deny all TCP
packets from the host 201.141.0.3 from any source IP addresses.
#5. What well known TCP port does Oracle Database (sql net) server use?
Oracle uses 1521 as a standard default port but doesn t outright own the port since the port lies
within the registered port number range.
#6. A company is managing an Oracle Database located in a Public Server to support day to day
operations in Dallas and Chicago networks. The company has requested its Internet Access
Provider (ISP) to create the necessary ACL at the ISP router securing that only responses from
Oracle server to certain hosts are allowed to enter Dallas and Chicago LANs.
ISP network engineers decided to use extended ACL, and applies it to F0/0 interface in ISP router.
Why did they decide to create an extended ACL and apply it in interface F0/0 for inbound traffic?
An extended ACL was created to filter traffic closer to the source and so traffic coming from the
Host will be filtered.

The Importance Of Engagement In Social Work
Engagement
Engagement is a vital component to the therapeutic process and the framework to which a social
worker establishes trust with the individual receiving services (Berg Weger, 2013). This interaction
is suggested as paramount to achieving a collaborative therapeutic relationship (Easter, Pollock,
Pope, Wisdom, Smith, 2016). Methods of engagement are considered as continuing throughout
mental health services beginning with the initial contact.
Practice Skills
In an inpatient setting, patients admit with a mental health crisis and are especially sensitive to
interactions with others. Often the first levels of engagement are challenging due to medications
that are first given to stabilize each patient. During the engagement with Mark, it was important to
encourage the sense of wellbeing towards recovery and placing a focus on his strengths. Engaging
a client with their challenges and goals are suggested to be of focus instead of an individual s
mental health status or symptoms (NovotnГЎ, Urbanoski, Rush, 2011).
Active listening
Due to Marks very depressed state, the initial interaction required a great deal of empathy and high
degrees of compassion. When first engaging a client, it is important to be compassionate and
empathetic and listen without interrupting, prompting or advising (Berg Weger, 2013). Reflecting
and summarizing content delivered in the session is a valuable way to let the client know that you
are actively listening to what they are saying

Reducing Barbecue Dose
The thickness of barbecue sauce is important for more than just its mouth feel. Thin barbecue
sauce does not bind to or coat meat as effectively as a thicker liquid does. There are a number of
ways to make a sauce that is the right texture, some are simpler and more effective than others.
Reduction
Reduction is the simplest way to thicken a barbecue sauce. Just heat it and reduce the amount of
water in the sauce via evaporation. While it does take longer to reduce a sauce when compared to
other thickening methods, it does not require you to dilute the sauce. In addition, reduction does
not involve adding extra ingredients. To reduce your barbecue sauce, place it in a pot and bring it
to a boil. Lower the heat and continue at a slow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You use it by mixing it with water to form a slurry. While using a cornstarch slurry is not quite as
simple as reduction, it can do the job in less time. Place your sauce in a pot. To add cornstarch,
first mix it with cold water until it is dissolved then pour the slurry into your sauce. Start with a ВЅ
tablespoon each of cornstarch and water for a cup of sauce. Note that you want to avoid lumps
in your cornstarch since these may not break down once the cornstarch is heated. Bring your
sauce to a boil and simmer. Within five minutes, your sauce should be noticeably thicker. The
more cornstarch you add, the faster the sauce will thicken and the thicker it will be. Keep
stirring with a whisk to keep the sauce from sticking to the bottom and sides of the pot. Note
that many barbecue sauces are highly acidic and cornstarch has a way of breaking down in acids.
If you are making a barbecue sauce with lots of ketchup or vinegar, you may find that the
cornstarch breaks down and does not thicken at all. If you keep adding more cornstarch, this may
result in your sauce taking on a chalky taste. Another drawback of using cornstarch stems from the
fact that you are diluting the other ingredients. Your sauce will be blander than it would be if you
had not used a

of terrorism in the future. United States is not the only one country who is introducing the National

But the National Identification card will have some biometrics data like finger print, retinal Scan,
iris scanning which people thinks that it would be hard to forge. Using biometrics data such as
fingerprints and retina scan can help in verifying that the card actually belongs to the cardholder
(Clement). More likely people are thinking about introducing the smart card which when swiped
will show all the information like where you are and what you are doing while smart cards are
among the most secure technologies available.
National ID card could combine the functions of a driver s license, social security registration,
immigration documents, and other government issued identification so that it would be easier
to carry just one card instead of all these form of identification. Once the card is issued then
every individual is required to carry and present an officially issued ID card when asked, and it
would also be required to get particular services. If the card cannot be presented on demand then
that person would be regarded with suspension. If the person who forgot or lost the card falls
under the minority group then the person becomes a suspect and might get some kind of charges or
might even go to jail.
National security is good but not at the cost of personal freedom (Dye). Demanding ID card at any
time will be considered as the freedom

all historical records need critical consideration. This is due to various factors like bias, fallible

unresolved. Ultimately, the truth is relative for everyone. Yet, all three authors are often desiring

  • 2. The Effects Of Diversity On Hollywood And One Of The Most... There has been many controversies about the lack of diversity in Hollywood and one of the most recent one was the 2016 Oscars. The Oscars is an award show that showcase the best people in front and behind the camera. Unfortunately there was barely any diversity in the nominations this year since most nominators were white, even though there was many diverse films that were considered Oscar worthy. With that being said, people protested that there needs to be more diversity in these categories and some actors agreeing by using the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite in social media. To make things worse, the Academy Awards members are majority older white males which brought to the attention from the protesters that in order to have diversity into the awards, the members itself needs to represent of all races so, it can be considered a fair choice. Which make sense to why throughout history of the Oscars there was always a discrepancy of diversity in the nominations since 1929 because only a very small percentage of minorities actors have received an award compared to the white actors that dominated the Oscars with a high percentage of winners. This created tension in Hollywood that the Oscars are marginalizing itself as a all white program and that there needs to be changes. When the nominations were being announced for the 2016 Oscars, many were surprised of the lack of diversity and the films that were snubbed. One in particular would be Beast of No Nation, which received ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The World Is Too Much With Us And To Wordsworth Comparison Being perfect examples of Romantic poetry, both The World Is Too Much With Us by William Wordsworth and To Wordsworth by Percy Bysshe Shelley convey a similar message of loss and death. However, Wordsworth focuses on the loss of connection between human beings and nature. Shelley, on the other hand, directs his poem to Wordsworth himself and focuses on the symbolic deathof Wordsworth s poetic style. For instance, in The World Is Too Much With Us , Wordsworth personifies the sea and winds by saying that she (the sea) [used to bare] her bosom to the moon and how the winds that [used to howl] at all hours implying that their (sea and winds) actions were bold and daring. • 4. Igor Stravinsky Rite Of Spring A critique of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky and Folding by Shen Wei On November 22th, I enjoyed the Rite of Spring and Folding at Centennial Hall in U of A. Both of them shocked me by their unique way of performances. From the very beginning, The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky strengthens in a volatile sense of harmonious movements. The Rite of Springis quite different from classical ballets whose subtle interchange of the curvaceous, subjective lithesome in the flow of time that romanticism savored. In this particular dance which was carefully planned by Igor Stravinsky, Stravinsky s rhythms hit and batter; although highly asymmetric they are still pounded in such a new way that the score requires innovation in harmonious representation to make Stravinsky s invention workable. In this dance, there is no way are these rhythms presented subtly, in fact, they are habitually stricken out in harmony by the huge orchestra that the work uses. Undeniably, one of the most enjoyable facets of a noble performance, even without dance convention, is the way that it looks. Their grey outfit and sporadic black tops make them a perfect blend.... So as to concentrate on the listener s discernment on the rhythm, musical material, Stravinsky at times reduces to tiny repetitive configurations of a simple two or three pitch. In tandem with this rectilinear plainness, The Rite of Spring s gargantuan crunching synchronizations move at the stride of glaciers, this gradual harmonic movement puzzlingly magnifying the general sense of drive and energy. These structures of sound, although distressingly dissonant for an audience in 1913, are selected with perfect modification, and they reinforce Stravinsky s complete arc with a structural indemnity on a practically Beethovenian ... As a research from International Journal of Business and Management about a company stopped its automatic salary increments says that the employees of the company were not happy with that scheme and the company tries to give training to them about that bonus scheme. So the company ordered all the HODs (Head of Departments) to educate their respective departments on the benefits of the new bonus scheme. After the training those employees get enough education about the new bonus system and they agreed to the new system. And they were motivated to work harder (Akinlolu Ayodeji Agboola amp; Rafiu Oyesola Salawu 2011). Participation can be used to satisfy the workers, as when workers are participated and involved in decision making process then they will have understanding that the organization needs them and value their work. If the people actively participate they will be more likely to feel ownership of the change and will be less likely to resist. When the employees are involved and participated in planning and implementing the change process will have better understanding towards the changes. Participation of managers and employees to the change approach will be able to manage resistance to change quicker (Rosemond Boohene amp; Asamoah Appiah Williams 2012). • 6. Examples Of Mall Observation I chose to observe the library I work for, which is the Squirrel Hill location of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh system. I performed my observation around 3:30 PM on Monday, September 19th. There are technically three outdoor entrances, but two of them actually lead to the main inner entrance. You can see the main entrance from the street, which allows paid parking. The library itself is positioned above a parking lot (also paid parking), which is where the second main entrance is seen. Both of these two main entrances lead to the same lobby area where you can either take the steps or the elevator to the library floor. The third entrance is located on the opposite side of the branch along the side street, which is residential and free parking, but you can t see the entrance until you physically walk up the driveway. Upon entering, there are no signs indicated the layout of the library. At potentially strategic locations as determined by the Facilities department, there are extremely vague maps indicating emergency exits for the building, but they are small and not very noticeable. By the main outer entrances, there is an elevator, stairs, and a space for flyers (bulletin board and a shelf); by the inner main entrance, there s a bench outside. Upon entering the library, the magazine collection and first security stand is immediately to the left. On the right are New books in paperback format that are strung up in display. Spaying and neutering is basically removing the reproductive organs of an animal so that it won t be able to produce any offspring. Of course with every new concept in life, a series of doubts and concerns are met, in this particular case: myths. Myths such a sudden reaction of laziness and gaining of weight from the animal due to the procedure, the animal being purebred or special and the process interfering with future generations of animals, causing the male cat or dog to feel less of a male, and thinking its best to have a litter of before spaying the female pet. All such myths have been disproved as the act of laziness and weight gain comes from the owners actions in overfeeding their animal and having absolutely nothing to do with spaying or neutering, the reality that one out of four animals put into shelters are purebred and the rest are mixed and therefore no mutation will come from it, the gender identity does not exist within the pet and as a result there will be no sudden cases of emotional reaction when neutered. In the painting we see here, Venus is prominently depicted in the centre, born out of the foam as she rides to shore. On the left, the figure of Zephyrus carries the nymph Chloris as he blows the wind to guide Venus. On shore, a figure that has been identified as the goddess of spring waits for Venus with mantle in hand. The mantle billows in the wind from Zephyrus mouth. • 15. Muscles Involved In A Free Throw Essay There are many muscles involved in a free throw. The tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges are located in the feet, allowing there to be balance in an individual s stance before the ball is released. This is important because your feet need to be aligned correctly, facing the rim, to ensure the shot will be successful. The patella is located in the front of the kneecap which contracts due to the movement of the tibia, fibula and femur. While the lower body is bent, the humerus, ulna, radius and carpals need to bend. For the individual to gain power, the patella, tibia, fibular, femur, tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges will work together to bend, then extend the lower body. As the lower body extends, There are many major muscles involved in a free throw. When setting up the shot, you need to bend your knees, which forces the soleus, gastrocnemius, tibialis inferior, rectus femoris, vastus lateralis and vastus medialis to act on the movement. The movement of extension is where the angle between bones at a joint is increased. Examples of this movement in a free throw are straightening the knee as you begin to release the ball and straightening the elbow when the ball is released. Personal Ambition and Self Respect in The Bell Jar Inspired by Mary Jane Ward s The Snake Pit, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath was released in 1963 and discusses a great deal of how difficult it was to be a woman in the 1960s. The 1960s was a struggling time for women; society set standards that women felt obligated to follow. Society told women that their only jobs were to get married, have children, and become homemakers, and if a womandid not fall under all of these categories, she was considered a social outcast. The main character, Esther Greenwood, fears that she will not make a good wife because she could not cook, she stood too tall, and danced poorly. Women also had many restrictions on what they could do. For example, they could not serve on a jury, get an Ivy League education, and they did not experience equality in the work place. Society expected women to follow these standards perfectly, without fault. How were women to live by all of these standards and still think of themselves as strong and independent? Alas, because society focused so much on what women should do, that they did not appreciate some of the other things that some women could do. Intelligence, determination, and understanding were not considered impressive or useful to women in this time. The character Esther Greenwood in Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jarreflects the struggle to maintain self respect and personal motivation in a society that demands perfection. Either way people confuse Machiavelli it seems they fail to look at his true message, bettering the state and the greater good. When thinking of right and wrong would it not be right to save more even though you have to hurt some? Machiavelli is not against all that is good. Machiavelli, although thought to be, is not against religion. Machiavelli believes religion is a great unifier. A fact many have overlooked in his philosophy. Also it seems there is a hint of belief or acknowledgement in God in his passage Although one should not reason about Moses, since he merely executed what God Commanded, yet he must be praised for the grace that made him worthy of speaking with God. But let us consider Cyrus and the others who acquired great kingdoms: they were all praiseworthy, and their actions and institutions, when examined, do not seem to differ from Moses, who had such a mighty teacher. This quote too could be Machiavelli simply covering his tracks so he does not seem blasphemous and the punishment that would come with being blasphemous. It is interesting though why he would even mention Moses when he could have been as easily left out? Machiavelli believed for a prince to be successful he must found a state that will not need a prince once he dies. This belief was stretched over The Prince and The Discourses. The question though is how can a prince make himself obsolete or should he make himself completely obsolete? The answer is no he can not make himself completely obsolete. I was immediately turned off by the use of this word because it has such a powerful social stigma. As I read more closely I appreciated her message a great deal more. Micromolding in capillaries is capable of producing line or stripe like patterns in perovskite films.43 When solvated precursors are applied to a substrate with a capillary containing mold on top, the solutions wick through the mold under the influence of capillary action. Upon removal of solvent(s) and mold, the resulting perovskite film will retain the straight line pattern design of the mold. This process results in comb like features, with regions of patterned perovskite stripes, separated by void areas where no perovskite is present. Stripes are connected to each other by a section of uniform perovskite film, where no mold was present during film growth. A relatively straight forward method for patterning perovskites, MIMIC is largely limited to simple line geometries. Template assisted spin coating is a similarly easy patterning technique, and, as such, has limitations in the associated geometries which it can produce. A recent effort shows the ability to create an inverse opal (IO) structure in perovskite films through template assisted spin coating.44 In this procedure, a monolayer of polystyrene microspheres was placed on top of the substrate during spin coating of precursor solutions. Coleridge s Kubla Khan Although the exact date remains unknown, it is believed that Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote his poem Kubla Khan sometime in the fall of 1797 and began revisions of it in the early spring of 1798. Interestingly, although no original manuscript has been found, the Crewe Manuscript of Kubla Khan was discovered in 1934. Currently, the Crewe Manuscript is the earliest know version of Kubla Khan and is believed to have been written around 1810. Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire life continually revising and republishing it. During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents that Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a tremendous sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock Hills of Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that, it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long solitary walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return journey, stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan. After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking, and consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote a letter to his friend John Thelwall, stating, my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is only in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity or majesty! The problem itself is best understood by saying One of the greatest challenges this world faces is how to ensure that a growing population... has enough foods to meet their needs. (Business Insider) The report also states that in order to have enough foodfor the estimated 10 billion people in the year 2050, food production must increase by 50% globally. Also in the report by Business Insider, statistics proved that in areas of greater conflict and fluctuation in climate the problem of world hungeris harshest. Another reason for the world hunger epidemic is food availability. Food availability has been affected through reduced import capacity while access of food has deteriorated in part due to fiscal potential to protect poor households against rising domestic food prices (BI). This makes sense because due to the climate changes like drought, an entire season of crops could be ruined and leave thousands without food and with no other way to get it. The drought has caused remaining crops to be sold at insanely high prices, high enough that the poor population cannot get the food that they need. The negative effect that war has on food production is that the men that are supposed to farm and grow the crops for many in their city and country to eat either have to stop what they are doing and join the war or sell their food to the war efforts.
