Essay About Honesty
Crafting an essay on the theme of honesty can prove to be a challenging endeavor, as it requires
navigating through various perspectives, moral considerations, and personal reflections. Honesty,
being a multifaceted concept, demands a nuanced approach to effectively convey its significance
and implications.
Firstly, delving into the definition and essence of honesty itself can be intricate. It extends
beyond mere truth-telling to encompass sincerity, integrity, and transparency in thoughts, words,
and actions. Addressing these aspects comprehensively while maintaining coherence throughout
the essay requires careful deliberation and articulation.
Furthermore, exploring the complexities of honesty in different contexts adds another layer of
difficulty. Whether discussing honesty in interpersonal relationships, professional environments,
or societal structures, one must acknowledge the intricacies involved. Balancing theoretical
insights with real-life examples and ethical considerations necessitates thorough research and
critical analysis.
Moreover, addressing potential counterarguments and conflicting perspectives is crucial for
presenting a well-rounded discussion. Anticipating objections and addressing them convincingly
requires intellectual rigor and persuasive writing skills.
Additionally, infusing the essay with personal insights and reflections on one's own experiences
with honesty can enrich the narrative but also demands vulnerability and introspection, which
can be challenging for some writers.
In summary, crafting an essay on honesty entails grappling with philosophical concepts, ethical
dilemmas, and personal reflections, all while maintaining clarity, coherence, and persuasiveness.
It demands intellectual rigor, empathy, and introspection to effectively convey the significance
and implications of honesty in various spheres of life.

Sari s Health Insurance Plan
Sari is an undergraduate student at Boston University and unfortunately, suffered a
head injury during her school break. The twenty one year old, BU crew team
member is now finding herself in need of a variety of different medical interventions
to help her return to normalcy. Her symptoms include short term memory problems,
change in appetite and mood, impaired physical abilities, and a change in her word
finding skills. Sari returned home after a night stay in the hospital. She is determined
to return to school, which her physician clears with the recommendation of her
receiving a multitude of different types of care. This paper will be an examination of
what Sari s health insuranceplan will cover and to what extent.
Sari is insured through a preferred provider organization, which will be referred to as
PPO for the continuation of this paper, from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (
Insurance Card , 2016). A PPO is a model of health insurance that are made up of
loose knit organizations where the provider is typically paid at a discounted rate
(Bodenheimer Grumbach, 2012, pp. 32 33). People with PPO type plans,
including Sari, are able to see providers that are out of network for a higher out of
pocket amount. Her insurance is provided through her father s employer and costs
$5884.58 per year (Saucier, Medical Insurance Spend , 2016). Due to the
recommendations from Sari s physician, it is very likely that she will be placed on
medication either for short term use or
Hammurabi s Journey Essay
Hello King Hammurabi I just finished my journey in Egypt. I ve learned many
things while in Egypt but I am only going to tell you the important things. First,
they have the longest river in the world. It runs down the middle of Egypt. The
river is used for many things like cooking, fishing, and bathing. It s also used for
transportation such as trade boats and sailing. Then, they had huge pyramids with
storerooms, bedrooms, and inside courtyards. They painted false doors to connect
the living and the dead. They made a calendar off of the seasons which there were
three and each season lasted three months that was 360 days. They also added five
days which were called holy days which made it 365 days. One thing that they put a
lot of time and
Exercise Lab Report
Introduction: Exercise is a physical activity or particular movement that is used in
order to become healthier and stronger. (1) Exercise, in all of its forms, has various
effects on the different systems in the human body. One of the main benefits is
cardiovascular health, including circulation and heart health. Exercise uses a lot of
energy, which the cells derive from oxidising glucose. Meaning that the heart has to
work harder to pump more blood throughout the body and the heart has to beat faster
in order to achieve a high effort. (2) The heart benefits from exercise include being
able to pump more blood through the body and continue working at a higher level
with less strain. (3)

For example, many athletes wear fabrics with wicking because it draws the sweat
away from your body and keeps you cooler. Having cooler clothes while exercising
in hot weather is an extremely important factor affecting not only heart rate but
perceived effort. Warmer temperatures cause the heart to beat faster and place
considerable strain on the body. When it is hot, the body must move more blood
to the skin to cool it while also maintaining blood flow to the muscles. The only
way to do both of these things is to increase overall blood flow, which means that
the heart must beat faster. (5) Also, not wearing warm enough clothes in colder
weather effects heart rate. As you lose body heat to cold weather, so you heart rate
rises, not only to keep your core temperature of 37 В°C but to guarantee blood flow
to your brain, muscles, and internal organs. (6) Consideration of tightness and
looseness of workout gear can affect heart rate during exercise. Choosing material
that can let you move and not restrict you is vital also investing in compression
tights for certain exercises can help. A study by the University of Essex has found
that compression tights can improve energy expenditure while exercising, hasten
recovery and improve proprioception. (7) Energy expenditure is directly correlated to
heart rate meaning that wearing compressions tights can help people to have a lower

Pocahontas s Effect On The People Of Jamestown
Did you know that Pocahontas isn t just a Disney character? Pocahontas was born
around 1595 in what is now North America, but no one knows exactly when she was
born. She was the favorite daughter of Chief Powhatan s, but her mother is unknown.
She helped many people, including the people of Jamestown. John Smith and John
Rolfe, citizens of Jamestown, affected Pocahontaslife greatly. Pocahontas helped the
people of Jamestown survive through their first winter; she brought them food and
told them when the Native Americans were going to attack. Throughout most of her
life, Pocahontas lived in Tsenacommacah. She learned to do the many things most
young ladies did, such as foraging for food and firewood, farm, and build thatched
houses. Pocahontas was known by more than one name. Matoaka and Amonute were
two of her names. Pocahontas was her casual name, meaning playful one .... Show

The Native Americans captured John Smith in December of that same year. Chief
Powhatan decided John Smith would be executed. Pocahontas decided to save him.
She threw herself over him and said, Please, Father, give him to me!
After this, the tribe adopted him as their brother. They called him Nantaquoud. John
Smith stayed for many days, telling them of his King across the ocean. Finally, he
went back to Jamestown, where the people had become sick and couldn t find food.
Through the winter and spring, Pocahontas brought them food and gave them
The Effects Of Conventional Energy Sources And
Increasing...
Depleting nature of the conventional energy sources and increasing cost of electrical
energy are forcing mankind to look for possible modifications in the existing systems
towards lower energy consumption without sacrificing the purpose for which it is
used. The household refrigerator used extensively all over the world for preserving
various food products is one such system which accounts for the substantial part of
the house electricity bills. Refrigeratoris a machine which lifts up the heatfrom low
evaporator temperature (pressure) and pumps it against the high condenser
temperatures (pressure).
Following were the objectives decided for achieving this aim:
1.To study the literature on domestic refrigerator with higher evaporator temperature
in the temperature range of 265K 270K.
2.To study existing domestic refrigerator including lower temperatures.
3.To design and fabricate a suitable capillary tube to be used with the modified
refrigerator to provide required evaporator temperature.
4.Redesigning the shape of the evaporator used in the refrigerator.
5.To evaluate the performance of the system using recommended test procedures in
the literature.
6.To evaluate economic viability of the system for modifying the existing systems.
The reason behind selecting the temperature range 268K 272K for domestic
refrigerator in the evaporator is to study the effects of the this temperature range on
stored products and to increase coefficient of performance of the
Analysis Of Annabel Lee s A Kingdom By The Sea
The turn of the nineteenth century for the newly formed United States was a time
of nervous apprehension running alongside a giddy sense of adventure. The
colonist had shirked the cloak of Britain and was a fledgling country of their own,
similar to a young adult trying to figure out their way after leaving home. Nothing
spoke of this like the Romantic writings in the early nineteenth century. The works
tended to have a lot of good vs. evil and oppressor vs. oppressed. They tended to be
optimistic, very democratic in their views, anti slavery, some even dipped into the
early women s rights movement. The romantics were rebels with a cause,
nonconforming individuals that think and stay true to how they see themselves.
Along with the lofty language, the authors tended to write their prose they also
managed to keep the details of their writings very generic. Such as Edgar Allen Poe,
with his location description in Annabel Lee: In a kingdom by the sea. (Poe) The
Romantic author also liked being a master of his or her fate.
The Realist was different from the Romantic in as many areas. The Realist time was
after the Civil War, many of them lived through the carnage, and it affected their
views of life and the world. Realist writings usually consisted of a distinct time and
place, unlike the Romantics generalizations. Samuel Clemens using the pen name
Mark Twain had his novels set clearly in the Mississippi River delta during a
particular time in history, his childhood.

Random Errors
Random errors
During this investigation individuals were asked to lift the weight and lower it
down and repeat the cycle at their peak performance. There is a possibility that some
individuals did not perform at their peak performance at all times. This could impact
the number of cycles performed each time. Therefore, this error could affect the
measurements and the correlation which was concluded from the data. However this
error was inevitable, but to minimise its effect shortening the period of weight lifting
could be suggested. This could promote participants to actually perform at their best
rate. Also, selecting a larger sample size could minimise the effect of this random
error by averaging.
The second error could be caused by not doing the cycle of weight lifting correctly.
This could impact the number of cycles counted and ... Show more content on

This could interfere with the results and might have introduced a new variable. To
minimise this error and keep all other factors constant, the participants could be asked
to keep their hand on the counter in the L shape position. This could improve the
consistency and also ensures that the position of the arm during the resting period did
not interfere with the muscle fatigue. Moreover, having a greater sample size could be
recommended.
Systematic errors
Possible calibration errors of the equipments could have influenced the results. For
instance, inaccuracy in the calibration of the stopwatch could have caused zero error,
even though this seemed unlikely. However, to mitigate the calibration error using a
different stopwatch to ensure that the stopwatch used previously was calibrated
appropriately could be recommended. It was difficult to discuss the impact of
systematic errors especially when only one stopwatch was used. But to identify a
possible systematic error, using a different stopwatch and repeating the same
experiment could be
Career Goals For The Hospitality Industry
Five years ago was when I knew I wanted to work within the hospitality industry.
This was the time in my life where I came to the realization that this fun and
entertaining industry was a place where I could develop a career. Every since this
time in my life I have been creating goals for my career and steps to achieve these
goals. One of these steps to achieving a successful career includes attending a
university to study hospitality. This step has brought me to this point, where I am
creating goals specifically for this course. I believe creating these goals will put me
in a position to better succeed. I know being successful in this course is important
because the information taught will help me in achieving my career goals.
Through travel and hospitality related experiences in my life I have created two
major goals for my career. My first trip to Las Vegas was the time when my first
major career goal was established. By walking through each hotel I could easily see
that each place had a different style and way of operating. Observing these
examples allowed me to determine which hotel/resort or company would be the best
to work for. MGM s Aria Resort and Casino has always stuck out to me as a well
running, high class establishment; the workers are professional, but friendly and the
atmosphere is comforting while keeping up with the modern times. With this said,
one of my goals is to be employed by the Aria. Although, knowing how competitive
this industry can be, I would
The Between Greek And Egyptian Civilizations
The Earth has been around for a long time. Humans have been around for a long
time. America has been around for a long time. However, these long times are on
vastly different timescales, and are not even close to being comparable to each other.
To human minds, however, it would seem as though anything beyond the scope of
their lifetime blends into a series of events on a page. The years before their birth
sticking together into an amalgam of history, distorted beyond recognition. We place
prominence on events which have taken place recently, while discounting the vast
eons between the ages of the distant past. It may seem as though an eternity has
passed between now and 1945 for the centenarian, but even the oldest amongst us
would see the time between the foundation of the greek and egyptian civilizations as
having a length much less than the 2500 years that separate the two. Two varieties of
ancient hominids may seem to be virtually contemporaries, when they are in actuality
over a million years of evolutionremoved from one another. Humans have many
methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of the
concept of zero essential to the ancients in keeping good records of various
transactions humans have been using mathematics to describe ever larger quantities
of items. The ancient story of the king and the chessboard of wheat demonstrates that
humans have been using large numbers since time immemorial. In the story, a king

Blanche Dubois Opinion
The plot of A Streetcar Named Desire possesses a unique potential for a difference of
opinions to exist. That is to say, much like most dramatic literature, interpretation is
based on individual emotion, this particular style of writing leaves plenty of room for
personal perspectives and speculations to materialize. With that stated, my account of
the storyline is centered on Blanche DuBois personal struggles and the explicit
confrontations she encounters with Stanley Kowalski. Although the story begins
with a glimpse into the life of Stella and Stanley, it is quickly taken over by the
presence of Blanche. As her backstory unfolds, the intrigue which grabs holds of the
audience begins to be fulfilled.
Blanche was portrayed as a disturbed yet educated Southern Bell, who hailed from a
once prominent family, although, through generations it managed to lose all
inheritances and in the same manner the respectability of the family name. This fact,
undoubtedly afflicted Blanche and unlike her younger sister Stella, she could not
accept the unfortunate circumstances of the families tribulations, much like her own

Her prim and proper ways were no match for the tactics of the brazen Stanley
Kowalski. Stanley, had no formal education to speak of and was utterly sophomoric
in his attempts at sophisticated dialog, however he displayed a prodigious ability to
apply street smarts and common sense within his deductions. These deductions
inevitably exposed Blanche s half truths and out right delusions. He forced her to
acknowledge her troubles, past and present, then in a most heinous act forced himself
upon her, driving her to her ultimate breaking point. In the end, Blanche was
committed to a mental facility leaving only one resounding moral to the story... Don t

Domestic Ring Main Circuit ( Ac )
Domestic ring main circuit
Two ends of the rings are connected towards the same terminal at the consumer unit,
then the current will travel in the two directions so that the cables do not have too
much current that it cannot handle it enough. When there is long lengths of cable,
the electricity will lose its power to work and oppositely trying to apply too much
current on a cable will be potentially dangerous to anyone handling it. So therefore
the use of and benefits of domestic ring main delivers ensures that both ends receive
power evenly and keep the load light as much as possible.

Nature of AC voltage and AC current
An alternating current (AC) will describe how the charges of electricity is able to

Ms. Diaz
Andrew Carnegie was born on November 25, 1835 in Dunfermline, United Kingdom.
Life as we know it today was not only influenced from the past but built on its
foundation, the foundation that successful men over the generations have given us.
Andrew Carnegie is no exception to this list. He lived a life of wealth through the
Carnegie Corporation of New York and dedicated his fortune to structures and
developments that have benefited society immensely, from the discovery of insulin
and the creation of Pell grants and sesame street, to the dismantling of nuclear
weapons. Andrew Carnegie argued that To try to make the world in some way better
than you found it is to have a noble motive in life. Andrew Carnegie did exactly what
he set out to do and left this world on a higher standard than when he found it by
accomplishing his goals and pushing this world into the future with his advanced
technologies and genius at the helm.
Andrew Carnegie did not start out life lavish and wealthy, in fact, he was born
penniless and humble to those who accepted him. The reason behind his
impoverished background was due to the economic crash in Scotland caused by the
arrival of the power loom, which in turn was the reason for Carnegie s family to
immigrate to the United States in 1848. They had met up with

Implementation Of A Project Plan
Once a project has been approved, the next step in the project process is to develop
a plan. A project plan provides a strategy in which an endeavor will progress and
outlines the complete events essential to complete a project. The process also
presents an outline for monitoring functions and milestones to track progress. A
high level project plan must be developed in order to effectively outline the
necessary activities, monitoring, and strategy in order for a project to be successful

The Theory Of Leadership And Leadership
Introduction to the Topic Organizations of any nature will not subsist without some
level of leadership. This paper discusses the nature of leadership, which depends on
the effectiveness of a leader; the specific personality characteristics, physical, and
social traits that set leaders apart from followers; and the characteristic of a servant
leader. It also gives insight to biblical integration of the concepts and the strategies for
implementing the concepts within the organization.
Group Consensus
TheNature of Leadership Leadership is in an echelon above management in that there
is almost an aura about a leader that compels followers to want the same things
they want, as opposed to managers which get their followers to do what they want
(Marker, 2010). Therefore, managers tend to utilize power, whereas leaders can be
influential. Good leaders also have a vision both a company vision and a personal
vision, in which is instilled into followers. An effective leader will also have an
understanding of ethical issues, who and what ethical decisions affect, and how
issues should be handled. John Ferrell and John Fraedrich (2014) suggest that
headstrong leaders know that ethics contribute to employee commitment, investor
loyalty, and customer satisfaction (p. 16 17). Knowledge of these relationships aid
leaders in being well round and make leaders aware of the consequences of the
actions taken decisions that are made.

Theme Of A Worn Path
A Worn Path by Eudora Welty, written in 1941, is a short story about an elder, Negro
woman, Phoenix Jackson, traveling along a well worn path to an unknown
destination. As the title suggests, this is a path that she has taken many times. The
main theme represented in A Worn Path is that a person would endure and overcome
the forces of nature and society for those they love.
Eudora Welty introduces the character Phoenix Jackson in a way that illustrates that
Phoenix is a person who endures forces of nature and society; and the meaning of her
name is a large hint to the theme of endurance. William M. Jones introduces the idea
that Phoenix is a reference to the legendary bird that is reborn throughout time; one
that endures. In his literary critic, William M. Jones writes, The references at the
beginning of the story announce rather clearly that a comparison with the legendary
bird is intended. The similarity becoming more pronounced as the story progresses.
The reference to the bird of endurance can be seen throughout the story, especially
when the reader concludes that Phoenix does not remember why she is traveling the
path. Her loss of memory is a reference to the Phoenix dying; and at the end of the
story, Phoenix remembering her reason for the journey is a representation of being
reborn.
Welty s diction and the time period that the short storywas written also gives the
reader context into Phoenix s endurance of the wrath of society. Phoenix is described
as an
The Natural History Museum Of Los Angeles Essay
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles offers a surface level depiction of
Mesoamerican civilization and culture. It excludes essential information and instead
gives a shallow representation that offers implications of a barbaric civilization.
To start off, a Natural History Museum is usually a place where the public can visit to
obtain knowledge on the history of the earth and its inhabitants. Much about people s
culture and customs is found in a Natural History museum, especially people that
have made a difference or played a role in history that we learn today. Therefore, the
Indigenous peoples are represented in these precise museums. The indigenous people
have various amount of customs that are even used today, however, the fact that
many of their descriptions are led by the word histor or ancient almost makes the
guests at museums believe that these indigenous people are no longer alive, and that
is incorrect. The key objective for a Natural History museum is to simply help
connect the understanding of human beings, connections based on culture,
communities, to the earth and to each other. Precisely, The Natural History Museum
of Los Angeles does not fully represent in depth the qualities that made the indigenous
people so innovative, intelligent, and powerful; Therefore, the importance of the
indigenous people is almost overshadowed by everything else that is presented at the
museum. Overall, the indigenous people are represented here because of their
Pros And Cons Of The Virginia Plan
The Virginia Plan was written by James Madison which was a proposed plan
presented by Edmund Randolph. It was more known as the Randolph Plan, which
was the plans sponsor. This plan was supported by many of the large states such as
Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Massachusetts. This plan was required to have a very
strong congress of two houses based on proportional representation. One of the
houses would be elected by the people and the other would be elected by the first
one. The executive was chosen by congress and congress is able to cancel any law
created by any of the states. This was all based on population or wealth of each
state. This compromise was accepted, and the Constitution was later approved. The
New Jersey Plan was a proposed
Police Power Is An Awaking Leviathan
The higher the individual s position in a company, the higher the tendency for that
individual to carry out a profitable deviant act because of easier access to the
organization s resources. Thus managers, law enforcers form a much higher position
level or businesses owners can be expected to break the rules and the constitutional
law. In the United States today, policepower is an awaking leviathan (Caldero Crank,
2010). Every job in its very nature, especially in the criminal justice field, involves a
slippery slope or the potential for gradual deterioration of social moral inhibitions
and perceived sense of permissibility for deviant conduct. Corruption and official
deviance are both very complex phenomenona and have been in existence for a very
long time. Although many aspects of policing have gradually changed over the years,
per se, the existence of corruption in policing remained unchanged and very prevalent.
A combination of high position, status, and prestige; hence, provide the greatest

Corruption and Official Deviance in Policing
The often sordid world of corruption, the dark side of policing, has been in existence
for a very long time. Although many police are conformed to the highest ethical
standards, however, the preferred, benign image of these individuals remain a

The Paradigm Of Multilateral Security
Today, the established way for describing security requirements, as reflected for
example in the Common Criteria, an international standard to achieve comparability
of independent IT security evaluations, starts with a description of the functional
requirements, the system architecture, and its working environment. It then continues
with a threat analysis that describes envisaged threats, possibly followed by an
evaluation of the severity of threats through a risk analysis and ends with the
definition of a securitypolicy. But nowadays, the world is not as simple as that: in
civil systems, in which we are interested, there are many more stakeholders who have
an interest in an asset than just the owner of the IT system. More often than not,
stakeholders have conflicting interests with respect to assets. The paradigm of
multilateral security acknowledges this fact. Multilateral security contradicts the
traditional view, which assumes that there is a trusted tribe who has a homogeneous
set of security requirements against the rest of the world. But this traditional
assumption still heavily influences common approaches toward security engineering.
To take multilateral security seriously in security requirements engineering (SRE), a
requirements engineering process must support engineers in identifying security
goals of the security stakeholders, and in resolving conflicts among them and in the
reconciliation of security goals and other, notably functional, requirements.
Advantages Of Waqf
Waqf, an Effort to Substantiate Capacity and Mitigate Poverty Introduction Poverty
is a complex phenomenon which occurs in the most of societies and communities
around the world. Economic scholar, Sirageldin (2000), Manan (1998) and
Kankwenda et al. (2000: 11, 63 64) points out that poverty can be identified from
inequality income distribution, inability to access basic education, health service, and
inadequate productive human resources (poverty Muslim spirit)to build capacity to
the poor. This crucial challenge is no exception faced by the Muslim world as well,
in particular, the Middle East (Kuran, 2004: 71 72). Considering the enormity of
poverty in the Muslim world, we cannot lie in the government activities which occur

Bencoolen Street in Singapore, which consists of commercial complex and service
apartments, and a mosque from Musharakah Sukuk (Karim, 2007: 17). Multiplex

Sukuk al intifaa (Kasri Saeran: 2016). Waqf concept also spread to the West which
many universities were established such as Oxford University, the University of
Cambridge in the UK and the University of Harvard and Yale in the USA
(Gaudiosi, 1998; Çizakça, 1998; Stibbard, QC Bromley, 2012; Mahamood

cash waqf because it does not require a lot of wealth, generate more funds which
can use to develop asset such as undeveloped waqf land for business and agricultural
purposes (Mannan, 1998; Antonio, 2002). However, the flexibility and development
cash waqf are debated by Muslim jurists and scholar due to certain conceptual
argument concerning perpetuity and inalienability (Mohammad et al., 2005).
Because of the property must be tangible property (maal) and capable of being used
without being consumed. This situation was clarified by the Waqf Validating Act of
1913, which permitted a waqf of any property including the movables, i.e., shares in
joint stock companies, notes and even cash (Suhrawardy, 1991). This figure illustrates
the mechanism effect of waqf
Social and Economic Development in Colonial Virginia in...
The seventeenth century marked the start of great colonization and immigration to
the New World that was North America. Mainly in on the eastern coast of what is
now the United States, England established colonies on this new land to thrive
socially and economically. The English government readily sent its citizens to
America to exploit its abundant source of raw materials and the English people
exponentially came to the colonies to start a new life for themselves and to thrive
socially. In Virginiaduring the seventeenth century, the geographical attributes in this
region allowed the establishment of the cash crop tobacco to rapidly transform the

The land became rapidly exploited and cultivated to produce tobacco. After the
establishment of this cash crop, tobacco was glorified and largely advertised in both
the colonies and England. As well as its large cultivation of tobacco, its connection to
what became known as the Chesapeake Bay served as a prominent economic aspect
to Virginia. By mid century, the establishment of indentured servants had been
regulated and used frequently by plantation owners. This being a prominent factor to
Virginia s social development, its downfall and rise of slaveryalso played a prime
role in social transformation. Bacon s Rebellion in 1676 was the first rebellion in
the colonies and it largely resulted in the hardening of racial lines with slavery. The
plantation owners and farmers now saw it as a dangerous asset to have white
indentured servants as workers and also saw having slaves as a much higher profit.
By the establishment of the Virginia colony and its use of producing the tobacco cash
crop, boatloads of slaves were brought to work and profit the upper class plantation
owners. What became known as the Middle Passage became nothing more to the
white upper class than profit and population increase. At the end of the seventeenth
century, it was established that 40,000 people lived in Virginia however the number
of slaves brought to the colony was unknown. With the progression within the
Examples Of Social Inequalities In The Progressive Era
There have been echoes of inequality among various social classes since as early as
the late 1800s. Inequalities made on the basis of poverty, gender, and race have left
many Americans at a disadvantage. Andrew Carnegie described the American flag as
the guarantor and symbol of equality , yet it symbolizes pain, inferiority, and
unworthiness to many. The Gilded Age was praised as a pinnacle time of
industrialization for the United States. This time period created a hierarchy of power
that brought wealth to the top tier and left everyone else to merely survive. However,
The Progressive Era s focus was reform after economic hardships. Through the use of

Odontogenic Cyst Research Paper
Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is an uncommon developmental cyst of the jaw

Country Road did this by lowering their selling prices but at the same time,
maintaining the quality of their clothing. To do this, they have sourced for suppliers
that are willing to cooperate with them in cost reductions (Australia s best retail,
2011). This is a win win situation for both Country Road and their suppliers where
Country Road gets to reduce their cost to maintain profit and their suppliers gained
good reputations. Another strategy they have used on cost reduction is by
introducing product distribution directly from their China based distribution centre in
year 2007, which eventually reduced their operating cost and lead time (Annual
report, 2007). In addition, Country Road also pursues a differentiation strategy. This
can be seen by the unique architecture and layout of their stores which makes them
stand out from their rivals that were located geographically close and also the
marketing of their Australian brand image (Kerr Sarina, 2006).
Country road has been well established as an Australian brand in Australia before it
engaged in globalization. Having a strong foothold in the Australia fashion, it is one
of the most representable and well favoured fashion brands in Australia. With its
growing success, this gave the firm the confidence to venture into the global market

Optimism In The Novel Candide By Voltaire
The novel, Candide by Voltaire, is about Candide who grows up in the home of
Baron Thunder ten tronckh in the German province of Westphalia. His tutor,
Pangloss, teaches him that their world is the best of all possible worlds, and
everything that transpires in this world is for the best. Candide accepts Pangloss s
teachings as absolute truth. Pangloss optimism can be considered as exaggerated and
blind.
Optimism is defined as a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side
of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome; the belief that
good ultimately predominates over evil in the world; the belief that goodness
pervades reality; and the doctrine that the existing world is the best of all possible
worlds. Throughout the story, Pangloss encounters suffering that contradicts his
beliefs that this is the best possible world to live in. His struggle and suffering make
us think that Voltairewas creating a satire of the beliefs of the time. With this era of
time being known as the Age of Enlightenment, one might think that the intention of
Voltaire was to represent extreme optimism in an era where you were supposed to

Unconscious Mind Theory
I find the unconscious mind to be the most intriguing aspect of the theory of
personality. I have PTSD and can attest to how this can have a significant effect on
the conscious mind. Any stimulation of the unconscious can result in a number of
physiological responses. A traumatic experience can affect the mind in many
different ways. If a person comes in contact with the cause of the trauma again the
unconscious mind will most likely be triggered and there will be a number of
apparent physiological consequences like increased heart rate, sweating, being on
edge and outbursts. It is obvious that the unconscious mind is connected to our body
and can produce a number of physiological responses when encouraged.

Essay on Paying College Athletes
Should college athletes get paid more money?
There has been a constant debate the past few years on whether college athletes,
particularly football players, should get paid. In 1988, the Nebraska legislature
passed a bill that would allow the University of Nebraska football players to
receive better cash incentives. The bill was later vetoed by Governor Kay Orr, who
was governor of Nebraska at the time (O Toole etal. 2). . The dispute comes from
coaches, parents of the players, and the players themselves arguing that universities
make money off their own athletes and the athletes, in turn, do not receive any money
from that. Many NCAA officials disagree stating their case that college athletes

But the bill is getting exploited by NCAA rules and by the official in the Big 12.
According to Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg, the bill, if passed in Nebraska,
has a slim chance of passing in other states that has schools in the Big 12. He
states, At this point, I know of no other state legislative activity that relates to a bill
like this (cite). Weiberg expands on how he is not alone in this decision by saying,
Our presidents and chancellors have been uniformly opposed to any plan that would
give the appearance of play for pay (O Toole etal. 2). With these statements it seems
like Chambers doesn t have good position in getting the bill passed, but the bill can
initiate an argument saying that if college athletes do not get paid, the temptation of
illegal consumption of money by athletes could rise.
In agreeing with Weiberg, Wally Renfro, who is an assistant to NCAA president
Myles Brand, states, It (the bill) shouldn t happen for two reasons. One is
philosophical. It s not the model of intercollegiate athletics. Second, it s impractical.
They re basically talking, I think, about paying football players. I don t think that s
going to stand the test of a court challenge from students who play basketball or
students who play baseball or students in the tennis

The Unbearable Lightness Of Being Character Analysis
The Unbearable Lightness of Being is written by Milan Kundera, a Czech novelist.
It is mostly set in late 1960 s Prague. The novel explores the state of life after the
Russian military occupation of Prague. The author does not follow a chronological
order throughout the novel, which is a reflection of how disorderly life is. It is a
time of conflict both spiritually and physically. People start to question the meaning
of lifeif there is any meaning at all. Kundera begins the novel by refusing both
Nietzsche s interpretation of eternal return and Parmenides classification of lightness
as positive and weight as negative. Then he argues the point that lightness is
unbearable and proves his point through his observations of the four main characters

He begins by explaining Nietzsche s interpretation of the concept of eternal return .
Then, he tries to prove that the concept does not exist for humans outside the realm of
paradise. Thus, it is unachievable. Later on he rejects Parmenides classification of
lightness as positive and weight as negative. Kundera believes that lightness may
seem initially freeing and sweet but this sweetness disintegrates gradually and
eventually becomes unbearable. On the other hand categorizing one theory as
unbearable does not necessarily make the other bearable. If Kundera rejects both
lightness and weight; identifying them as extremities, where does that leave human
beings? Do they choose lightness, weight or maybe a little of both? These questions
are not directly answered but are insinuated through Tomas and Teresa s
Online Marketing Strategies For Restaurants
Online Marketing Strategies for Restaurants
Restaurant customers search for restaurants on their phones, receive marketing
messages digitally, use the Internet for customer service and research restaurants by
reading online restaurant reviews. People place carryout and delivery orders online,
buy eCommerce products from restaurant websites and look for restaurant menus
online. If you re not engaged in online marketing, your restaurant won t be visible to
most customers, even if they re walking by your business but with their eyes glued to
their phone screens.
Eight Online Marketing Ideas
The following techniques will give you a strong working platform to launch all types
of online marketing campaigns, engage customers and prospects more effectively and
build a strong Internet presence.
1. Build a Mobile Website
Your most important step for online marketing is building a website that adjusts for
any device automatically. Responsive websites make it easier for people to find
information on their phones. Your website should be easy to navigate for customers
and easily updated by you, an administrator from your staff or a third party hosting,
designing or consulting company.
2. Post Your Menu Online
Your menu is your second most valuable Internet marketing resource. Restaurants
spent thousands of dollars to post their menus in yellow page directories in past
decades (and many still do), but you can now post your menu often for free or at
little cost where people can

During the time I observed Mass there was a dominate race in attendance mostly
Caucasian (around 200) with several Hispanics (around 50) and very few African
Americans (only three); however, there was not a dominate sex or age of the
attendees. There seemed to be an equal amount of males and females, and a vast
degree of age newborns to very elderly among the participants. The clothing of the
participants was very formal and respectful. Most women either wore long dresses
or skirt with leggings or tights underneath, some women wore pants; however,
there was only a few women in pants; all women wore shirts that did not show very
much (if any) cleavage some women (around ten) wore black, white, gray, or
brown veils over their heads at first I believed that the veils were a sign that the
women wearing them were preparing to become nuns; however, several small
children were wearing the veils over their heads, and according to Lauren, the veils
are symbolic they show respect to the Saints and God by allowing women to
observe submissiveness and obedience. There seems to be no correlation between
the veils color and a symbolic meaning behind the veil color. Men wore suits or
khakis and a button up shirt. Women and men were all aware that they were in a
church and must be modest not shorts or t shirts or cocktail dresses were seen of the
participants if someone was to show up to Massin this attire it would be deemed
inappropriate. Even the priest and altar servers and choirmember

Essay The Consequence Of Modernity
The context of a point of time in history greatly influences an author s idea to
create a story, and for someone else to evolve them. Events occurring within society
and the way people perceive other s at a time also contributes majorly to the
development of modernity. Bram Stoker s novel Dracula and David Goyer s film
Blade Trinity contrast significantly as a result of difference in context.
Weaponry had developed immensely over the two stories to cater for the
advancements from one classic vampire to a fresh, modern, powerful one. The story
of Dracula , set in Victorian times, consists of the simple, almost primitive weaponry,
particularly ones of a superstitious and religious value. For ... Show more content on

Differing context can prove to not only impact how a character is portrayed
visually, but also how society perceives them, particularly with the uncertain
concept of vampires possibly still being a myth or legend within both texts. Stoker
s Dracula was generally feared by his surrounding community, and believers of
vampires tended to be over superstitious of the danger he may bring to people. The
myth of vampires was a topic infrequently found in an average conversation, as it
was dreaded that even discussion would transport cursed luck and risks.
Superstition is conveyed through the scene of the innkeeper s wife delivering the
ominous warning to Harker by cautioning him that All the evil things in the world
will have full sway , before placing the Crucifix around his neck as a religious
offering to hopefully serve the purpose of protection. This gives the effect that
Dracula has a power above others, simply because they are fearful of him. Also,
the way Dracula is written about expresses a sense that he may or may not
intentionally give off an unwelcoming presence that tends to linger and produce a
discomfort or fear among people within his surroundings, mostly in the earlier
chapters of the novel. The contrast in comparison to society s perception of Drake is
tremendous, as the myth or legend of vampires is far from a secret in the 21st
century world of Blade
Progressive Reformers Essay
In spite of the fact that industrialization in the United States raised ways of life for
some, it had a dull side. Corporate managers, in some cases alluded to as burglar
aristocrats, sought after exploitative and out of line business rehearses gone for
taking out rivalry and expanding benefits. Assembly line laborers, large portions of
them late migrants, were much of the time subjected to severe and hazardous
working and living conditions. Political debasement enhanced legislators to the
detriment of the lower and regular workers, who attempted to make a decent living.
The crevice between those who are well off and the poor was augmenting.
The Progressive development emerged as a reaction to these negative impacts of
industrialization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Wilson organization, for example, regardless of its grip of innovation and
advance, sought after a racial plan that finished in the isolation of the government.
The times of Wilson s administration (1913 1921) saw a recovery of the Ku Klux Klan
and a violently bigot reaction against the monetary and political additions of African
Americans in the post Reconstruction period.
Worker s parties, which were extremely dynamic in Progressive legislative issues,
upheld limitations on migration and heaved xenophobic talk that censured migrants
for low wages and cruel working conditions in production lines the country over.
Government migration strategies in the Progressive Era, including the Immigration
Act of 1917 and the National Quota Law of 1921, seriously restricted movement in
light of nationality, and rejected for all intents and purposes every Asian

  • 4. Exercise Lab Report Introduction: Exercise is a physical activity or particular movement that is used in order to become healthier and stronger. (1) Exercise, in all of its forms, has various effects on the different systems in the human body. One of the main benefits is cardiovascular health, including circulation and heart health. Exercise uses a lot of energy, which the cells derive from oxidising glucose. Meaning that the heart has to work harder to pump more blood throughout the body and the heart has to beat faster in order to achieve a high effort. (2) The heart benefits from exercise include being able to pump more blood through the body and continue working at a higher level with less strain. (3) An experiment was conducted to investigate how exercise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, many athletes wear fabrics with wicking because it draws the sweat away from your body and keeps you cooler. Having cooler clothes while exercising in hot weather is an extremely important factor affecting not only heart rate but perceived effort. Warmer temperatures cause the heart to beat faster and place considerable strain on the body. When it is hot, the body must move more blood to the skin to cool it while also maintaining blood flow to the muscles. The only way to do both of these things is to increase overall blood flow, which means that the heart must beat faster. (5) Also, not wearing warm enough clothes in colder weather effects heart rate. As you lose body heat to cold weather, so you heart rate rises, not only to keep your core temperature of 37 В°C but to guarantee blood flow to your brain, muscles, and internal organs. Depleting nature of the conventional energy sources and increasing cost of electrical energy are forcing mankind to look for possible modifications in the existing systems towards lower energy consumption without sacrificing the purpose for which it is used. The household refrigerator used extensively all over the world for preserving various food products is one such system which accounts for the substantial part of the house electricity bills. Refrigeratoris a machine which lifts up the heatfrom low evaporator temperature (pressure) and pumps it against the high condenser temperatures (pressure). Analysis Of Annabel Lee s A Kingdom By The Sea The turn of the nineteenth century for the newly formed United States was a time of nervous apprehension running alongside a giddy sense of adventure. The colonist had shirked the cloak of Britain and was a fledgling country of their own, similar to a young adult trying to figure out their way after leaving home. Nothing spoke of this like the Romantic writings in the early nineteenth century. The works tended to have a lot of good vs. evil and oppressor vs. oppressed. They tended to be optimistic, very democratic in their views, anti slavery, some even dipped into the early women s rights movement. The romantics were rebels with a cause, nonconforming individuals that think and stay true to how they see themselves. Along with the lofty language, the authors tended to write their prose they also managed to keep the details of their writings very generic. Such as Edgar Allen Poe, with his location description in Annabel Lee: In a kingdom by the sea. (Poe) The Romantic author also liked being a master of his or her fate. The Realist was different from the Romantic in as many areas. The Realist time was after the Civil War, many of them lived through the carnage, and it affected their views of life and the world. Realist writings usually consisted of a distinct time and place, unlike the Romantics generalizations. Samuel Clemens using the pen name Mark Twain had his novels set clearly in the Mississippi River delta during a particular time in history, his childhood.

There is a possibility that some individuals did not perform at their peak performance at all times. This could impact the number of cycles performed each time. Therefore, this error could affect the measurements and the correlation which was concluded from the data. However this error was inevitable, but to minimise its effect shortening the period of weight lifting could be suggested. This could promote participants to actually perform at their best rate. Also, selecting a larger sample size could minimise the effect of this random error by averaging. The second error could be caused by not doing the cycle of weight lifting correctly. Moreover, having a greater sample size could be recommended. Systematic errors Possible calibration errors of the equipments could have influenced the results. For instance, inaccuracy in the calibration of the stopwatch could have caused zero error, even though this seemed unlikely. However, to mitigate the calibration error using a different stopwatch to ensure that the stopwatch used previously was calibrated appropriately could be recommended. It was difficult to discuss the impact of systematic errors especially when only one stopwatch was used. But to identify a possible systematic error, using a different stopwatch and repeating the same experiment could be

This was the time in my life where I came to the realization that this fun and entertaining industry was a place where I could develop a career. Every since this time in my life I have been creating goals for my career and steps to achieve these goals. One of these steps to achieving a successful career includes attending a university to study hospitality. This step has brought me to this point, where I am creating goals specifically for this course. I believe creating these goals will put me in a position to better succeed. I know being successful in this course is important because the information taught will help me in achieving my career goals. Through travel and hospitality related experiences in my life I have created two major goals for my career. My first trip to Las Vegas was the time when my first major career goal was established. By walking through each hotel I could easily see that each place had a different style and way of operating. Observing these examples allowed me to determine which hotel/resort or company would be the best to work for. MGM s Aria Resort and Casino has always stuck out to me as a well running, high class establishment; the workers are professional, but friendly and the atmosphere is comforting while keeping up with the modern times. With this said, one of my goals is to be employed by the Aria. Although, knowing how competitive this industry can be, I would

Humans have many methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of the concept of zero essential to the ancients in keeping good records of various transactions humans have been using mathematics to describe ever larger quantities of items. That is to say, much like most dramatic literature, interpretation is based on individual emotion, this particular style of writing leaves plenty of room for personal perspectives and speculations to materialize. With that stated, my account of the storyline is centered on Blanche DuBois personal struggles and the explicit confrontations she encounters with Stanley Kowalski. Although the story begins with a glimpse into the life of Stella and Stanley, it is quickly taken over by the presence of Blanche. As her backstory unfolds, the intrigue which grabs holds of the audience begins to be fulfilled. Blanche was portrayed as a disturbed yet educated Southern Bell, who hailed from a once prominent family, although, through generations it managed to lose all inheritances and in the same manner the respectability of the family name. He lived a life of wealth through the Carnegie Corporation of New York and dedicated his fortune to structures and developments that have benefited society immensely, from the discovery of insulin and the creation of Pell grants and sesame street, to the dismantling of nuclear weapons. This paper discusses the nature of leadership, which depends on the effectiveness of a leader; the specific personality characteristics, physical, and social traits that set leaders apart from followers; and the characteristic of a servant leader. It also gives insight to biblical integration of the concepts and the strategies for implementing the concepts within the organization. Group Consensus TheNature of Leadership Leadership is in an echelon above management in that there is almost an aura about a leader that compels followers to want the same things they want, as opposed to managers which get their followers to do what they want (Marker, 2010). Therefore, managers tend to utilize power, whereas leaders can be influential. Good leaders also have a vision both a company vision and a personal vision, in which is instilled into followers. An effective leader will also have an understanding of ethical issues, who and what ethical decisions affect, and how issues should be handled. John Ferrell and John Fraedrich (2014) suggest that headstrong leaders know that ethics contribute to employee commitment, investor loyalty, and customer satisfaction (p. 16 17). Knowledge of these relationships aid leaders in being well round and make leaders aware of the consequences of the actions taken decisions that are made. As the title suggests, this is a path that she has taken many times. The main theme represented in A Worn Path is that a person would endure and overcome the forces of nature and society for those they love. Eudora Welty introduces the character Phoenix Jackson in a way that illustrates that Phoenix is a person who endures forces of nature and society; and the meaning of her name is a large hint to the theme of endurance. William M. Jones introduces the idea that Phoenix is a reference to the legendary bird that is reborn throughout time; one that endures. In his literary critic, William M. Jones writes, The references at the beginning of the story announce rather clearly that a comparison with the legendary bird is intended. The similarity becoming more pronounced as the story progresses. The reference to the bird of endurance can be seen throughout the story, especially when the reader concludes that Phoenix does not remember why she is traveling the path. Her loss of memory is a reference to the Phoenix dying; and at the end of the story, Phoenix remembering her reason for the journey is a representation of being reborn. Welty s diction and the time period that the short storywas written also gives the reader context into Phoenix s endurance of the wrath of society. Phoenix is described as an

Therefore, the Indigenous peoples are represented in these precise museums. The indigenous people have various amount of customs that are even used today, however, the fact that many of their descriptions are led by the word histor or ancient almost makes the guests at museums believe that these indigenous people are no longer alive, and that is incorrect. The key objective for a Natural History museum is to simply help connect the understanding of human beings, connections based on culture, communities, to the earth and to each other. • 25. The Paradigm Of Multilateral Security Today, the established way for describing security requirements, as reflected for example in the Common Criteria, an international standard to achieve comparability of independent IT security evaluations, starts with a description of the functional requirements, the system architecture, and its working environment. It then continues with a threat analysis that describes envisaged threats, possibly followed by an evaluation of the severity of threats through a risk analysis and ends with the definition of a securitypolicy. But nowadays, the world is not as simple as that: in civil systems, in which we are interested, there are many more stakeholders who have an interest in an asset than just the owner of the IT system. More often than not, stakeholders have conflicting interests with respect to assets. The paradigm of multilateral security acknowledges this fact. Multilateral security contradicts the traditional view, which assumes that there is a trusted tribe who has a homogeneous set of security requirements against the rest of the world. But this traditional assumption still heavily influences common approaches toward security engineering. To take multilateral security seriously in security requirements engineering (SRE), a requirements engineering process must support engineers in identifying security goals of the security stakeholders, and in resolving conflicts among them and in the reconciliation of security goals and other, notably functional, requirements.

This is a win win situation for both Country Road and their suppliers where Country Road gets to reduce their cost to maintain profit and their suppliers gained good reputations. Another strategy they have used on cost reduction is by introducing product distribution directly from their China based distribution centre in year 2007, which eventually reduced their operating cost and lead time (Annual report, 2007). In addition, Country Road also pursues a differentiation strategy. His tutor, Pangloss, teaches him that their world is the best of all possible worlds, and everything that transpires in this world is for the best. Candide accepts Pangloss s teachings as absolute truth. Pangloss optimism can be considered as exaggerated and blind. Optimism is defined as a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome; the belief that good ultimately predominates over evil in the world; the belief that goodness pervades reality; and the doctrine that the existing world is the best of all possible worlds. Throughout the story, Pangloss encounters suffering that contradicts his beliefs that this is the best possible world to live in. There has been a constant debate the past few years on whether college athletes, particularly football players, should get paid. The bill was later vetoed by Governor Kay Orr, who was governor of Nebraska at the time (O Toole etal. 2). . He states, At this point, I know of no other state legislative activity that relates to a bill like this (cite). Weiberg expands on how he is not alone in this decision by saying, Our presidents and chancellors have been uniformly opposed to any plan that would give the appearance of play for pay (O Toole etal. 2). With these statements it seems like Chambers doesn t have good position in getting the bill passed, but the bill can initiate an argument saying that if college athletes do not get paid, the temptation of illegal consumption of money by athletes could rise. In agreeing with Weiberg, Wally Renfro, who is an assistant to NCAA president Myles Brand, states, It (the bill) shouldn t happen for two reasons. One is philosophical. Kundera believes that lightness may seem initially freeing and sweet but this sweetness disintegrates gradually and eventually becomes unbearable. On the other hand categorizing one theory as unbearable does not necessarily make the other bearable. If Kundera rejects both lightness and weight; identifying them as extremities, where does that leave human beings? Do they choose lightness, weight or maybe a little of both? These questions are not directly answered but are insinuated through Tomas and Teresa s

Bram Stoker s novel Dracula and David Goyer s film Blade Trinity contrast significantly as a result of difference in context. Differing context can prove to not only impact how a character is portrayed visually, but also how society perceives them, particularly with the uncertain concept of vampires possibly still being a myth or legend within both texts. Stoker s Dracula was generally feared by his surrounding community, and believers of vampires tended to be over superstitious of the danger he may bring to people. The myth of vampires was a topic infrequently found in an average conversation, as it was dreaded that even discussion would transport cursed luck and risks. Superstition is conveyed through the scene of the innkeeper s wife delivering the ominous warning to Harker by cautioning him that All the evil things in the world will have full sway , before placing the Crucifix around his neck as a religious offering to hopefully serve the purpose of protection. This gives the effect that Dracula has a power above others, simply because they are fearful of him. Also, the way Dracula is written about expresses a sense that he may or may not intentionally give off an unwelcoming presence that tends to linger and produce a discomfort or fear among people within his surroundings, mostly in the earlier chapters of the novel. The contrast in comparison to society s perception of Drake is tremendous, as the myth or legend of vampires is far from a secret in the 21st century world of Blade
