Universal Declaration Of Human Rights
Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights can be both
intellectually stimulating and challenging. On one hand, the subject matter is rich with historical
significance, philosophical underpinnings, and a wide array of perspectives from different
cultures and societies. However, on the other hand, this complexity can make it challenging to
navigate through the vast amount of information and present a coherent and well-structured
argument.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly
in 1948, encompasses a broad range of principles, from the right to life and liberty to freedom of
expression and protection against discrimination. To write an effective essay on this topic, one
must delve into the historical context, understand the socio-political climate during its creation,
and analyze its implications on a global scale. Additionally, addressing contemporary issues
related to human rights and evaluating the effectiveness of the declaration in today's world adds
another layer of intricacy to the task.
Furthermore, constructing a compelling thesis statement and organizing the essay's content
coherently can be challenging due to the diverse nature of the human rights discourse. Balancing
historical context, theoretical perspectives, and real-world examples requires careful
consideration and a nuanced approach to ensure that the essay presents a comprehensive and
well-rounded argument.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is
undoubtedly a formidable task, the intellectual rewards lie in the opportunity to engage with
profound ideas and contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding human rights. The process
demands critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to synthesize information from various
sources. However, overcoming these challenges can lead to a deeper understanding of the
complexities inherent in the pursuit of universal human rights.

The Private Eye By Brian K. Vaughan
In the graphic novel, The Private Eye, by Brian K. Vaughan, Marcos Martin, and
Munsta Vicente, a society is depicted where people do not use advanced
technology. In an event known as the cloudburst , a whole society has their
personal information revealed. Due to the horrors of having no privacy, the people
went into hiding for protection. Since the leaks of information came from using
advanced technology, the people also decided to no longer use this type of
material. This type of technology uses the Internet, which was also destroyed for
personal safety. Now the people live in a society where libraries and books serve as
forms of information. Due to the fact that the people did not have access to the
Internet, they actually became more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the side effects of technology is how all information is eventually scrambled
and means something incredibly different than the original idea. Comparatively,
Telephone , a popular children s game, is where a child makes up a sentence and the
sentence is passed by word of mouth in a circle. Once the sentence is back to the
beginning, the children often laugh at how different the sentence is from the original.
This is exactly what the advanced technology does. In the process of trying to
understand the original message, advanced technology can make everything out to be
a lot worse than it actually is. What once was an inspiring story about how to grow a
vegetable can turn into a story about animal rights. With technology, information is
moved around a lot faster, meaning there is a higher chance that something will be
misunderstood in the middle. Everything that is put through technology is changed
and altered. Correspondingly, a techno pessimist believes that people should solve
problems, They do not have faith in technological fixes to solve social problems,
instead emphasizing moral or political solutions (Techno optimism versus Techno
pessimism). A techno pessimist believes that problems should not be solved by
technology. Technology will always use logical problem solving techniques. Humans
will always include emotional connection to create solutions. Technology may miss
vital information that only the human heart can process and find
Villa Grimaldi Analysis
Memory literally means something that is remembered . In Diana Taylor s article,
Villa Grimaldi, Santiago de Chile is the memory place where brings trauma to the
survivors and tourists. As Diana Taylor said memory, we know, is linked to
place... , I totally agree with her idea that when I go to where I have been, I can
certainly remember or link to what was happened last time. For Pedro Matta, one
of the survivor from torturing and detention, the memory of Villa Grimaldi only
brings him pain and trauma. The difference here is that what we see in the model
is no longer there. Even though we are present, we will not experience it in person .
(p37) However, he still comes back to this place to give a tour to people from outside.

Reflection On Shambhala Meditation
Reflection on Shambhala Meditation A couple weeks ago, while perusing the web
for fun date night ideas, I accidentally stumbled upon the official website for the
Asheville Shambhala Center. The website broadcasted the center as a safe space for
meditation and literary discussion under the tradition of Shambhala, a spiritual and
philosophical school akin but not equivalent to buddhism. Although I certainly
couldn t picture dragging my boo to sit silently for four hours on a hardwood floor in
honor of our anniversary, the message of basic human goodness included in the
center s description intrigued me. I decided to attend one of the Sunday morning
meditationsessions in order to further investigate Shambhala ideology. My GPS

Unfortunately, the lady described the importance of the senses in Shambhala
meditation by describing them as the five tentacles of goodness with which we
reach out to the world . I spent most of the rest of her speech mortified I would
burst out laughing. Even in the moment, while I was dying to run to my car and
privately cackle about the word tentacle like a ten year old, I recognized how
disrespectful my thought process was. I was in the presence of a woman sharing a
sacred practice used to connect to the divine, cracking up about a single word poorly
suited to the context of the American south. It reminded me of our discussion about
Sundiata concerning the sacred and the supernatural. To my horror, the practiceof
Shambhala was so foreign to me, after one awkward moment my brain
subconsciously filed Shambhala under the strange hybrid of eastern and western
practices attempting to appeal to unsatisfied white folks while retaining its exotic
appeal category, and discarded the spiritual significance of the practice entirely.
After reflecting, I realized that the way I categorized Shambhala was disgustingly
riddled with egotistical, American first bias, white people first bias. Since I was not
familiar with Shambhala, it was easy for me to categorize the practice as ineffective
and wrong, disregarding the deep spiritual significance the practice
The Last Supper
The Last Supper, by Leonardo da Vinci, is one of the most famous works of art in
the world. This painting represents the religious ceremony with Jesus Christ and his
12 disciples. This is the last meal that was shared between him and his disciples
before his arrest and his untimely crucifixion. Leonardo was commissioned to execute
the painting in the Dominican monastery of this Church by Duke of Milan, Ludovico
Sforza. Leonardo da Vinciwas an artist, scientist, architect, author, engineer, inventor,
and humanist. He was born in 1452 near Vinci in Italy, and died in Amboise, near
Tours France in 1519. The Last Supper and the Mona Lisaare his most famous works

The Last Supper measures 460 cm Г— 880 cm (180 in Г— 350 in) and till this day
covers an end wall of the dining hall at the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a
church and Dominican convent in Milan, northern Italy. When I see the painting the
shape is symmetric in the sense that there are the same amount of people on both
sides of Jesus. The genre of this painting is Christian art. There are also four panels
on both sides of the walls. In my opinion, the target audience that this painting was
intended for are those who are believers of Christ. I feel this way because I think
that this painting portrays the event that is talked about in the bible in the
scripture Matthew 26, verse 21 where Jesus says ... Truly I tell you, one of you will
betray me. . He then continues in verse 23 saying, The one who has dipped his
hand into the bowl with me will betray me . In the painting, you can clearly see the
man two seats away from his right reaching for the bowl at the same time as Christ.
This event lead to the Holy Eucharist, also known as communion or the Lord s

Not A Sidewalk By Edward Bloor
Stop letting people walk all over you. You re not a sidewalk. This is a quote that
applies to the life of Paul Fisher. Paul Fisher is a 13 year old character played in the
novel, Tangerine by Edward Bloor. Paul, who moved from Texas to Tangerine County
located in Florida was disabled. His disability of being legally blind has been the
shadow of his life. Paul has an older brother named Erik Fisher, a mother named Mrs.
Fisher, and a father Mr. Fisher. Erik is the star kicker for Tangerine High School. All
of Paul s life, Erik had been the fearful, scary older brother to Paul. In Edward Bloors
novelTangerine, Paul s brother Erik, has a negative impact on Paul throughout the

Fisher paid attention to Erik, even though he had done such a terrible thing to
Paul. Overall, Paul s parents have been telling him a lie his whole life and this
made him hate himself. The lie was that he is legally blind because he stared at a
Solar Eclipse, but the reason he is legally blind is because Erik and Vincent s spray
painted his eyes. This is emotional for Paul because his whole life he has been led to
believe otherwise, but now he hates how his mom, stood up for Erik.
Afterward, Paul reveals to the police that Erik and Arthur were involved in the death
of Luis Cruz. On page 211 of Tangerine it states, Arthur reached Luis, turned, and
whipped the blackjack around with a loud whack against the side of Luis s head.
Paul s close friend Luis was smacked across the head with a blackjack by Erik and
this caused Luis to have an aneurysm. Luis was smacked on the head because Erik
had hit Tino, Luis brother in the face with a blackjack, so Luis got involved, and
confronted Erik and Arthur. Paul is devastated because the aneurysm sadly caused
Luis death. Luis was very helpful to Paul and seeing him dead made Paul
despondent. Also pages 244 245 states, Luis Cruz is dead...I raised my hand and
got Ms. Polland s attention. I said, I gotta go. I m sick again. Luis death made Paul
sick to his stomach because first, they were close friends because he was kind of
like an older brother to Paul. Also, Paul knows that Arthur and Erik are involved in the
Comparing The Novel, Cain By Jose Saramago And Gilead
By...
The novels, Cain by JosГ© Saramago and Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, both
present different perspectives of God and truth. Through Cain, a reader can gain a
skeptical perception of God and ultimately, question the importance of religion. On an
alternative side, while Gilead does not directly offer commentary to Godand religion,
it is the source of its characters strength, especially with Robinson s character Ames.
Either way, God and religion has a profound impact on Cain and Ames lives that not
only expresses their relationship with religion but how God as an entity influences
their life path. Saramago s Cain spends most of the novel bitter towards God for
cursing him. From Cain and the Narrator s point of view, one can conclude that...

It is clear that Cain s initial interaction with God was indeed a negative one but it
created an outlet for Cain to question truth and to prove why religion s truth is
incorrect.
With the story of Job, That doesn t seem very fair of the lord...a good and upright
man, and very religious too, he has committed no crime, and yet, for no reason, he
is about to be punished with the loss of all his money and possessions, Cain
questions why Job will be punished as severely as he was when Job followed the
ideal pious path (Saramago, 122 123). In this instance, Cain is taking a protective
role as well as a critical one when it comes to God s convoluted motivations, The
lord and satan made a wager, but this man job isn t to know he is the object of that
gambler s agreement (Saramago, 122). Possibly, Cain is able to relate to the
citizens God tampered with since Cain felt he was not at fault for killing Abel, but
rather, God was for not stopping him or giving him such a miserable life that led
him to kill his younger brother. This idea that a misfortune, Job losing everything
he worked for, is contradicted in Robinson s novel, Gilead since Ames mother saw
bad luck as a blessing, That was a day s work lost for her, not to mention the setting
hens and the fryers. She

No two places in the world will ever have the exact same circumstances. Everything
impacts one s actions, from how others act there, what day it is, where you are and
even to the weather. In the novel The Book of Negroes, author, Lawrence Hill
demonstrates how the setting of an event greatly impacts one s actions, emotions
and even what skills they learn for survival. Hill best demonstrates this through the
journey her main character, Aminata Dee, goes on. From her hometown in Bayo,
Africa, to a slave vessel, following with life as a slave in St. Helena and

She is bought by a man named Robinson Appleby, who owns an indigo plantation.
On this plantation, she is in an unsafe environment and acts out of fear and anger.
It is thanks to a kind woman she meets on the plantation, named Georgia, that she is
able to survive in this horrible place. After Georgia healed me, two things helped
me avoid more troubles with Appleby: I never let Georgia s side when the master
was around, and Appleby bought a new Negro woman named Sally (Hill pg.231
232) Because she is scared of Appleby and others on the plantation, after too many
incidents where men have forced themselves on her, she adjusts her actions
quickly. Instead of being on her own she insures she is with someone else at all
times possible, and stays low so no attention is drawn to her. Not only this, but she
must act dumb so that she will not upset the whites who own her. By adapting to
her environment and learning to portray herself as a non threat, Hill reflects just
how smart Aminata is, and how much where she is holds her back in life. After
giving birth and having Appleby sell her child, Aminata refuses to work for Appleby
and is sold to a man named Solomon Lindo. This man originally found out about her
for being an amazing worker and first met her when he was inspecting Appleby s
indigo plantation. When living with Lindo, she is given a back house to share with
another servant who is pregnant. When we
Military Children
Military Children on The Go I was not a military brat, the child of a person in the
military, however I attended four different elementary schools before entering the
fifth grade. I cannot say it was something easy; I rather think that destiny was
preparing me to take care of my own military brats. Non militaryfamilies generally
think that military brats will have problems adapting to new places with constant
moves however, I have found through observation, personal experience, and research
that they develop good coping mechanisms to adapt and become resilient. Constant
moves are not easy. Children get sad and sometimes it takes time to adapt, but over
time, and with the right support they learn to cope and become resilient.

The Disaster Of The World War I
Surrounding me are the tremors of fear among my fellow man, the signals of looming
catastrophe are knocking at my door. The Third World War is imminent and I realize
the time has come to put my creation into action before the human race is annihilated
through atomic weapons, bombs of mass destruction and horrors beyond the
imagination. Through many years of mind wrenching labor I have put together a
blueprint for an impregnable bomb shelter, one that will hold and protect twelve
people for three months, long enough to ensure a sustainable life force on earth. This
shelter that I have created, which is the only one throughout the entire world, will
keep twelve people alive for three months. Even though, I have put my life works
into building this shelter, I will not be of this earth for long due to a terminal illness.
After hours of deliberation I have come up with twelve people that will inhabit this
shelter. I have chosen these twelve people with care and speed, keeping in focus the
three categories, survival, harmony and the continuation of the humanrace, so that we
will prevail. As World War II came to a close, the catastrophe was a result of the
reduction of humanity. The world was extinguished all, but the twelve people and the
shelter that I have built. In order to get through the interbellum period, one of the
most important aspects to maintaining life inside the shelter is survival. To
orchestrate survival mode will be in essence, the ones to keep all alive to
Bees Vs Wasps Compare And Contrast
Many people are unaware of the difference between bees and wasps, and consider
them both harmful. However, this isn t not the case. Although they may look
similar in color, and behavioral characteristics there are differences. In this essay
im going to be comparing bees and wasps. For the bees im going to be explaining
about their scientific name, their lifespan, and how many species there are in the
world. I m also going to be explaining about how bees attack, what they look like,
and how many bees are in one colony, etc. Then for the wasps i m going to be
explaining, their scientific name, their lifespan, and what they do when they attack.
Also what they do when it is the winter months, and what their average speed is.
Then for my last paragraph i m going to be explaining what they have in common.

in the world. Bees will attack when they are provoked, they can only sting once
then they will die. Bees unlike wasps have a hairy bodies and legs. A honey bee

the honey that they created and they won t freeze because all the worker bees are

legs, bees are responsible for collecting and transporting more than 80 percent of the

Essay on Walt Whitman s Song of Myself
Walt Whitman s Song of Myself
This paper deals with Walt Whitman s Song of Myself in relation to Julia Kristeva s
theories of abjection my paper does not point to abjection in the text, but rather the
significance of the abscence of abjection. This abscence, looming and revolting, arises
from Whitman s attemt to refigure a conception of sublimity which delimits the
material which can trigger the sublime moment. Whitman s democracy of the
sublime is inclusive of those figures on the American landscape, their lives and
voices, which are functionalized into his world. This paper employs the theories of

fascinates desire, which, nevertheless, does not let itself be seduced. [1]
The strange elegance of this specter looms in the relief, in the archaic layers of Song
of Myself. It is beyond the foregrounded inversive space at times utopic and sublime,
the space is permeated with universal brotherhood, happiness, the compelled
sentimental that I attempt to delve into, that source from which generates the
repulsive, hidden quivering of a text which, though cast out and forced into absence,
looms in the shadowed relief. The edification of his text and of his readership is
attempted through the construction of an inversive space which refigures the
sublime: the apex of the cultured. I have chosen those moments in the text in which
the poet nears the threshold of bordering abject in order to construct his sublime
utopian vision. It is here, this marked refigurement where ecstasy occurs, where
material which triggers the sublime is the signal of another text; a repulsive reading
looms from the absence of abjection
An invocation of the self begins Song of Myself, positioning the text as an
edification of the American readership: I celebrate myself, and sing myself, And
what assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as god belongs to
you (lines 1 3). Thus Whitman s work joins with the
What Are Edgar Allan Poe s Accomplishments
Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most well known poets in history. His creative and
mysterious personality played a major role in his upcoming fame. Poe was very
inspirational about his works and showed great emotion throughout his poems,
which credited him as one of the best poets of all time. The author wrote many ideal
poems, but his most famous poem, The Raven, is what made him really stand out
from all the others. Even though Poe had a very difficult life, he did not let that
hinder him, instead he used that to his advantage and expressed it in his poems.
While he never accomplished financial success, Edgar Allan Poeis recognized as one
of the first American writers to become a major figure in literature.

He had to work extremely hard to receive the awards that he did. Edgar Allan Poe s
most famous poem, The Raven, was a popular sensation. It appeared in the New
York Evening Mirror. In a short period of time after that, it was reprinted and
illustrated. The poem tells the story of an anonymous lover, who is mourning over
the death of a lost love, is being visited by a talking raven. The repetition of one
word the raven uses is slowly driving him mad. The tone used in the poem gives a
sense of mystery and supernatural things occuring. Poe did not only set himself up
for success by writing this poem, but he also inspired others and influenced their
work that they would do in the future. The Raven is known as one of the most
renowned in English literature (source 4). Coming in a close second to the most
famous poem he wrote is Annabel Lee. This was the last complete poem by the
famous author. It was published in New York Tribune on October 9, 1849. He uses
a reoccuring theme in the poem, the death of a lover. The narrator believed that
because the relationship he had with Annabel Lee was close to perfect, the angels
became envious and caused her passing. He felt as if their love was so intense that
it could not be replaced. In writing this poem, he described a passionate love that
everyone desires to have. Poe also wrote a wonderful piece with the title, The

What observations do you make from these data about the sectors of the world
economy that have the greatest impact on world trade?
Manufacturing has the greatest impact on world trade since economies as USA,
China, Germany or Japan, in which key merchandises exported are manufactures, for
example cars or computers.
Natural resources such as fuel and mining products also play a key role in the
world trade, because every country needs to satisfy its needs of those resources,
especially if such resources are not available in a country. Countries such as Russia,
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Nigeria and Venezuela base their exports on fuel and mining
products, especially crude petroleum and petroleum gas.
Agriculture also has an impact on world trade, because developing counties
producing soybean meal or tea such as Brazil, Argentina and Kenya base their exports
on this sector of economy.
b.What observations do you make about how export and import trade vary with
region of the world?
The biggest export of manufactured goods occurs in Europe, Asia and North
America. A remarkable export of fuels and mining products compared to their export
of agricultural products and manufactures
The Role Of The Nephilins In The Bible
The Bible reports the emergence of The Giants as the result of the sexual relationship
between women (daughters of men) and guardian angels (children of God) and from
this relationship there would have been hybrid beings of high stature and perversity
never seen on the Face of the earth. These are the Nephilins, the giants of biblical
accounts.
How did they really come about? Who were the children of God? The search for
these answers has always led theologians of various epochs to try to understand this
fact and supposed relationship between angelic beings endowed with purely carnal
desires and taken by voluptuousness, and women descended from a genealogy that
abandoned the fear of God, as is the account found In the book of Jubilees, to give ...

The giants are the result of a union between two species, beings that have been

The Book of I Enoch
In the book of I Enoch, as well as in the book of the Jubilees, testament of Rubem

of men and waking up among themselves, they went down to the land to possess
these women.
When the children of men multiplied, in those days, beautiful and graceful daughters

The Importance Of Special Education For Special Services
When precious metals and jewels are mined from the earth they are not always in a
presentable form. They have to go through a process to make them shine and sparkle.
There are students that are not always ready for the world, and they need to go
through a process to help make them the best that they can be. In Special Education
there is a 10 step process that is put in place to make sure that students that need that
extra help can receive it and have the opportunity to become their best self. The
process covers from the beginning of the process which includes identifying if a
child qualifies for special educationor related services to the end of the process
which is the student being evaluated. The process will be examined thoroughly
throughout this paper using the case study of a student named Bryanna that is in
third grade and is at risk in reading and math. The initial step in the special
education process is to identify if a child needs special services. Bryanna has been
spotted by here teachers as a student that is struggling in math and reading. Her test
scores being as low as they have red flagged her for student that might need more help
than others. This can be initiated by an administrator, teacher, or a parent that may
think that a student needs to evaluate. In any situation a parent will have to give the
school a written consent for their child to be evaluated. The school system has 60
days to complete the evaluation of the student. In Bryanna s situation,

simplest method to prevent Lyme disease is to avoid having contact with ticks when
traveling to Ixodes tick infested areas. That can be accomplished by avoiding

Laying in bed until noon on a Sunday morning sounds like a preposterous idea to
any devout, church going Christian. Southern Baptists, like my grandmother, are
outraged about the thought of millennials spending their Sunday mornings in bed

interested in direction through the works of God, but are not willing to give up
those extra three hours of sleep on a Sunday morning. A preacher by the name of
Joel Osteen recognized this gap and decided to put a new face on preaching the
word of God. Joel Osteen is a Houston, Texas raised preacher of nearly 20 years
now. After being raised by parents of ministry, he refused for many years to follow
in his parents footsteps and to take his own path with life. Unexpectedly, his father,
a southern Baptist preacher, fell ill due to kidney complications. His father asked
him if he would give a sermon for him that Sunday. This sermon turned out to be
the last sermon that his father would ever hear and Joel has devoted his life to
ministry ever since. Joel began working for Lakewood church, which quickly
became popular through his powerful sermons. As his fan base grew, he became the
largest non denominational church in America, resulting in a TV program and
thousands of podcasts. Joel s sermons are broadcasted all over the internet, spreading
the word of God to 100 million homes in the U.S. and tens of millions more in
roughly 100 nations (Osteen). This has made
Chaucer s Canterbury Tales
Dishonesty and Hypocrisy in The Physician s and Pardoner s Tales
Chaucer presents characters in the Physician s and Pardoner s Tales who are very
similar to each other in one important way. Although the characters seem on the
surface to be mirror images of each other, they have an important underlying
similarity: both the physician and the pardoner are not what they appear to be to most
people. Both are hypocritical, although they show this hypocrisy in different ways.
One way of seeing this hypocrisy, in the case of the physician s tale, is to examine
the way the similarities and differences between the knight Virginius and the
physician himself in terms of what he sees as moral actions. It seems fairly clear that

The tale as told by the physician, however, is problematic as a moral example,
because (although Virginia may have had to submit to the judge s rule that he live
with her), there is nothing in Apius ruling that would have forced her to yield her
chastity to him. She would still have had a moral choice when she submitted. It
may be that the choice would have come to nothing but consentual or
nonconsentual sex with Apius. This is still a very important distinction in Christian
terms, because without yielding her consent, Virginia would have been guilty of
no sin. It may have been that she would have been dishonored in the eyes of
society if she was to live with the judge, but she would have committed no moral
transgression. By identifying himself with Virginius, by drawing on a similar story
in the Biblical book of Judges to provide moral backing for his own story, and
holding the tale up as a moral example of Christian behavior, the physician re frames
it in terms of Christian ethics, although it is set in ancient Rome. It is understandable
(although perhaps unusual to the modern reader) that a father would rather see his
daughter dead than sacrifice her eternal reward in heaven; but once it is realized that
her eternal reward, within the context of this tale, is not at stake, it seems absurd that
a father would rather have his
Netflix And The New Company
We all know and love Netflix, you may have even seen a meme about Netflix and
Chill . Netflix is a wonderful thing that allows you to surf and watch numerous
shows and movies over the internet from many different devices. In August
of1997, all of our lives would be changed simply because in Scotts Valley,
California, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph had just founded Netflix. Reed
Hastings supplied the firm s startup cash of $2.5 million. He had reportedly hit
upon the idea for rental by mail when he was forced to pay $40 in fines after
returning an overdue videotape of the film Apollo 13 (Mathew). But it wasn t as
easy as you might think for Netflix to get to where it is today.
Back in these days, DVDs were just getting their start in the movie industry so rental
stores did not have a large selection of DVD movies to choose from. This was an
inspiration for the new company. Since DVDs are so lightweight, sending them by
mail would be inexpensive. Hastings and Randolph experimented with over 200
mailing packages before they found a way to safely ship the discs (Netflix, Inc.
History). When Netflix first got its start, it was spelled with a capital F so that it
was NetFlix. On April 14th in 1998, NetFlix opened with just 30 employees and
925 movie titles to choose from, which included some soft core Playboy titles. They
shied away from hardcore pornography to avoid the potential legal problems in
certain states (Netflix, Inc. History). Back in these days, you could rent a
Enn Holy Spirit
There has been so much contention on the fact regarding the cessation of some of the
gifts of the Holy Spirit and that Enns here is arguing that some of the gifts of the
Holy Spirit have seized their operation is not only ambiguous but very disturbing to
the Christian faith because, there is nowhere in the scripture that Godspecifically told
the church that any of the gift has come into extinction. My opinion here is in the
consideration of Enns view in accordance with the scripture and I can easily conclude
that, the author is not only wrong but grossly misrepresented the scripture.
Enns strategically define the Spiritual gift in two ways; the first is basically as the
grace of God or a divine endowment of a special ability of a service upon a
member of the body of Christ (Enns, p. 282). If this is true and that the spiritual gift
is divine, it then should not be cage to a particular individual or an area of
experience, that you have not experience of particular spiritual gift in your life,
church or ministry should not be a yardstick to adjudge that they gift ... Show more

283). If we go back to the basis, Jesus was referring to all the believers, in John
14:12 and the Bible says that the work that he did shall we do also. If Jesus worked
as an Apostle and laid the foundation for the church, I do know that in our very
time, the office of the Apostle is still very relevant and the gift is still present
wherever is needed in the word because in Ephesians 4:11, the Bible says: And he
gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors
and teachers . There is no where here that the Bible stated the extinction of these gifts

The General Norman Schwarzkopf had been hired in the US army since the time

He was very incumbent on becoming a military personnel that he was long waiting

Advantages Of Neoconservatism In International Relations
Neoconservatism in International Relations
Neoconservatives have faith in the might of the American Army and its
predominance at the level of labor, gear and advancement. They trust that the US has
the military intends to reshape the world as per its own particular advantages, and
thusly, they tend to benefit military control over tact. Like Jacksonians, Neocons hate
multilateral organizations and have a tendency to see them as feeble and wasteful.
They like to act singularly, regardless of the possibility that it implies violating
global law. This carelessness comes from the Neocon adoration for the RMA,
Revolution in the Military Affairs, which means a dependence on stealth innovation,
air conveyed accuracy guided weapons and versatile ground powers. Precisely what
the Bush organization would convey in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Wilsonian side of
Neoconservatism is clear in the development s advancement of the
internationalization of law based govern to whatever number places as could
reasonably be expected. The Neocon mind is Manichean and trusts that the world
partitions into great states and awful states, and that majority rules systems have
amiable expectations, notwithstanding the vote based peace hypothesis which asserts
that popular governments don t run at war with each other. Thus the more the U.S.
democratizes the less danger of wars there is. This is the thing that Francis
Fukuyama basically called the finish of history . Obviously the occasions of 9 11 put

A dog s ability to predict an episode is also something profound. In fact, some have
been able to predict incidents 6 to 24 hours in advance. In Gregory L. Krauss

After the article went to press, they saw three additional patients with seizure

psychogenic seizures. (Neurology2007; 68:308 309). In Melissa Fay Greene s

Abstract
PM within organizations is gaining momentum and an indispensable component of
the work flow procedure. Improving organization project management can effectively
improve an organization use of resources. Nevertheless, if an an organization does not
possess a clean target and does not follow project phases no one willing enters into
the transformational journey. The issue is the bottom line in PM, whether it is to
better the organization financially, ethically, or for standardization of procedures.
Constitutions must be cognizant of the elements and competencies required to
receive a successful PM outcome. In the closing, business should have an active
strategy to revise and adapt to the shifting marketplace.
Project Management Practices Project management (PM) system processes are
essential for successful performance within an organization. ?Successful performance
leads to customer delight, although insured, is totally possible through proper
application and quantifiable control of project management processes?, (Akkiraju,
n.d., p. 2). Project management involves components that PM mangers follow when
preparing to enter into a venture. The PM use planning, hazard management,

The Technology Into Our Nursing World
In the nursing profession there is constantly changes in how we practice, whether
it be evidence based practice or innovating the latest technology into our nursing
world. I have been with UPMC for eight years now and have seen many changes
occur. Some of the changes within the organization have made an impact on my
nursing practice and others not so much. Anytime we are involved with a project
going live there is a lot of planning that goes into the project and so many people
are involved in making it a success. One example that I can use is the building of
the new entrance way at Presby and all that has went into the process so far. This
directly affected my unit and the lab that was housed in the old Children s
Hospital South Tower section. Our unit was moved over the South Tower in June
of 2011 in order to renovate our previous unit and an additional unit that was
needed to hold our patients. When we moved over to the South Tower it was to be
a temporary move and it was anticipated that we should only be there for about a
year because renovations were being done on the entrance way of the main hospital
and the South Tower was going to be tore down. The lab was also in the South
Tower and needed to be moved to a building down the street. There was a lot of
strategic planning involved with the labs move because the tube station that sent our
specimens needed to extend from Presby/Montefiore to the new lab building. This
planning involved construction and people
Comparing The Hebrew Or Israelite s ( Hoi ) And The...
The Hebrew or Israelite s (HoI) book of Genesis (2.5 3) and the Pandora Myth in
the Greek poet Hesiod s Work and Days both include the creation of Men and
Women. In each of these works, this creation plays a significant role in showing
the relationship between human beings and gods (or God) in that culture. The
order of creation (Man Vs Women) indicates the importance one sex has over the
other. In the book of Genesis (2.5 3) and Work and Days, Men are created before
women towards the beginning of creation. However, the basis on why women are
created indicates the importance of women in HoI and Greek cultures. In the book
of Genesis (2.5 3) woman is created to be a companion for the lonely man, but plays
an important role helping humans become more human like. In contrast, the story
of Work and Days tells us women are created to punish man and are the root of all
evil. The process in how women are created also indicates their importance within
these cultures. In Genesis, the woman is created from a man s rib, while in Work
and Days the woman is created out of clay and the gifts of many gods. Lastly, how
the gods (or God) treats man, preceding creation, may also indicate some insight to
their relationships. In Genesis, we see God worry for man s well being, while in
Works and Days man is being punished for something they didn t do. Both Genesis
and Work and Days have similar orders of creation for both men and women.

though, sorting through the tumultuous noise and clutter of the world around me for

speech, stating, we will find neither national purpose or personal satisfaction in the
mere continuation of economic progress, in endless amassing of worldly

the death of Lake Superior (as cited in De Graaf, Wann, Naylor, 2014, p. 128). The
gross national product is a flawed way of measuring the success of the economy
because it does not consider the harms and benefits of production; it measures
growth for growth s sake. In the same vein, the success of my personal life could
not be measured by quantity alone. Endlessly seeking more stuff would actively

Philosophers, activists, and just about everyone else proclaim the importance of not
repeating past mistakes. Events that have previously occurred can have lasting
impressions and can shape the future. The real estate/mortgage meltdown that
occurred several years ago was a perfect storm scenario, which culminated with the
collapse. The economy at the time was suffering; there was high unemployment as
people were losing their jobs and many were forced to downgrade in their work
positions. Many people did not have the needed liquidity or reserved funding to
cushion the fall due to the decline in their income during this time. For many, times

Payment shock, where a new payment is significantly higher than an old payment, is
a factor that is taken into consideration during the mortgage eligibility process.
Mortgage lenders are wary of payment shock, as they don t want potential
borrowers to experience a drastic change in their payment schedules; such a shock
could make it difficult for people to pay back loans in a timely manner. The types
of loans available for potential homebuyers have also changed in time. An example
of a type of mortgage is an Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM), a mortgage that has
an adjustable rate of interest over a period of time, which is not as widely used
after the collapse. Before the collapse, as long as a person qualified for the
minimum rate of interest of the ARM they were eligible to be granted the
mortgage. The benefit of ARMs is that potential borrowers must now be able to
qualify for the fully indexed rate, the maximum amount in which the interest rate
can increase during the course of the loan, prior to being eligible for the mortgage.
Interest only and No Document mortgages are examples of loans that are rarely
used today. Interest only mortgages, a mortgage where a borrower is qualified on a
payment, which does not include any principle reduction to the mortgage loan on a
monthly basis. No Document mortgage, commonly referred to as No Doc or Low Doc
A Research On Plastic Pollution
Throughout my research on Plastic Pollution I learned that plastic is a material that
our planet cannot digest but it has become the lubricant growth of globalization.
Thus, Plastic is made from oil that contains many chemicals harmful to humans and
animals. Humans are barely aware that Plastic is so part of our lives that it can be
found in everyday products that we consume and even the food we eat. Humanity
plasticfoot print in the oceans has caused a major garbage path located thousands of
miles off the coast of California, called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. This is
caused due to humans that throw their wasteinto the sea and went those plastics are
in the water, it breaks down into smaller particles; then pushed by winds, tides and
currents, plastic particles form with other debris into large swirling glutinous
accumulation zones. For instance, The World Economic Forum (WEF) report
stated that if we keep producing plastic and improperly dispose of it, there will be
more pound of plastic debris than fish by 2050 because we have been made three
times more plastic stuff since we did in 2014. The dangers of over produced
plastic, is that much of it escapes from collection systems that end up floating in the
ocean than into the stomachs of marine birds and sea turtles. This is very alarming
to me because we are killing thousands of marine s lives and its ecosystem by over
producing plastic.
However, I learned that it s never too late to decrease the amount of

JUDAISM
Background of Judaism and the Jewish People
According to the Hebrew Bible, the history of the Jewish people can be traced back
to the call that bade Abraham to leave his native land to become the father of many
nations. From there the religious experience has undergone many phases, overcame
and resisted many civilizations, and is still standing after 4,000 years. The Jewish
people consider the Torah to be their holy book that gives account for how they came
to exist and what they believe. All of their commandments, based on the Torah
include laws pertaining to the Sabbath, festivals, cleanliness, and duties to one
another. The Jewish people abide by the law so that they may remain a holy nation.

Genesis 17 consists of God laying out the covenant between Himself and Abram. He
tells him that he shall have countless descendants, he will be the father of a
multitude of nations, his descendants will be fruitful, that they shall possess the
land of Canaan forever, and that he is now to be called Abraham. God s one
condition for the mark of the covenant was that all of the men were to be
circumcised. In chapter 15, God told Abram, You can be sure that your
descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as
slaves for 400 years. But I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and in the end
they will come away with great wealth. The book of Exodus entails the story of the
Jews as slaves in Egypt and how God appointed Moses to lead them out of Egypt,
through the wilderness, and into the Promise Land. The Israelites wandered in the
desert for 40 years before God allowed them to enter into the Promise Land with
Joshua as their leader. In their wandering, God presented the Israelites with the Ten
Commandments and the Mosaic covenant was formed. Before the Israelites entered
the Promise Land, Moses gave them clear instructions on what would happen if they

Immigration Foreigner Or Citizen
Foreigner or Citizen Over the years immigration has continued to be a discussion
of intense national debate. The effect of immigration have been looked at as
positive and negative. The economy and government has been affected in a
multitude of ways. The immigrants are offered sources for work and also
economic support for them and their families yet many American citizens are
without jobs and struggle to keep a household. Also many Americans do feel as if
they are being pushed to the side when it comes to availability in work sources and
the taxes people pay are going to the non natives who don t work but only live off of
others benefits. Contrary to that, the number of immigrant men who have a job

Immigrants have also been blamed when it comes to Destroying the way of
American s life. Why have U.S. natives been convinced that the immigrants are
destroying the U.S. when in fact immigration is good for the U.S. growth.
Economic Prosperity is what America is all about and working to get to. With
Immigration reforms and working to contain a stronger reform, it is estimated that
immigration allows migrants to Contribute their talents and skills to economic
prosperity for all (John Engler). The idea of prosperity comes from optimisty and
this is what comes from immigration. The skills and talents that come from
immigrants is what is mainly pushing more business reforms and creating a greater
economy in the U.S. The creation of reforms and the change of businesses is what
America needs and what immigrants are assisting on improving. An article written
by John Engler stated that The Partnership for a New American Economy estimates
that immigrants are nearly 50 percent more likely to start a business than native
born workers. This is incredible news and does give an idea to people who
supposedly says immigrants/immigration is destroying the U.S. When native born
workers are less likely to start a business it should say something about the ideas of

Changing The Face Of Poverty
Words provoke preconceived ideas and images in the mind, when it comes to a
situation like poverty these preconceived notions can have undesirable and
unintended consequences. Diana George examines the semantics and the imagery of
the word poverty in her article titled Changing the Face of Poverty; Nonprofits and
the Problem of Representation. While also addressing the issue of the perception
povertyand what someone in poverty truly looks like (676). Prof. George is arguing
that organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which are created to help people in
poverty actually perpetuate the wrong image of what someone in poverty looks like
(678). Most organizations created to help those in need, especially those in the US
tend to portray poverty as what is seen and thought of as living conditions in Third
Worldcountries (683). In reality, poverty is all around each and every one of us in
this country on a daily basis, and people might not always recognize it for what it is
(681,682). Furthermore, the majority of people living in poverty in the United States
do not live like or look like someone living in a Third World country. But in reality
they are still living in poverty nonetheless (682,683). Organizations that portray
people living in poverty here in the US as totally devastated and completely
impoverished are doing a disservice to the people they are attempting to help.
Consequently, by doing this they are giving a limiting idea of what someone living in

The Issue Of Global Politics
What do you believe to be the most pressing issue in global politics today?
Climate change is a large scale, long term shift in the planet s weather patterns or
average temperatures . In 2006, Al Gore highlighted a problem hinted at for years,
climate change, in his documentary The Inconvenient Truth, and this essay will
explain why this problem is still the most important issue in global politics, despite
receiving less coverage in world press. With major problems such as rising sea
levels and more extreme temperatures already being seen in many areas across the
world, it seems that global politics could not face a more pressing issue, as this

This distraction away from the problem of climate change has been crucial in actually
making climate change even more important to discuss now, as we can see the
effects that it is having across the world now, and in our predictions for the future.
With the melting of the polar ice caps, rising sea levels and greater threats of
natural events such as hurricanes and earthquakes; it seems that this is the
problem that effects the most people, and the one very few are talking about,
explained by Alan Rusbridger here The changes may be happening too fast for
human comfort, but they happen too slowly for the newsmakers and, to be fair, for
most readers While difficult to dismiss the vast amounts of issues we all face, be it
in the UK, in Europe or Internationally, it is hard to understand why out of the 5
large UK parties standing in the General Election, only the Liberal Democrats and
the Green party have included climate change reducing measures in their manifestos
to any great length. In the United States both the Democrats and the Republicans
have declined to include any substantial measures for the 2016 Presidential election
so far, the trend is the same across most western democracies. So despite the
impeding threat of this serious issue, it as taken a back seat, as the electorate s
thoughts and opinions are often directed by the media they expose themselves to, and

is a curial aspect when doing a CWS report. For example, when doing my first
mandated report my supervisor stayed and walk me through each step to make sure I
did it correctly which was wonderful and learned the right way to do a mandated

Missing Music Research Paper
Have you ever felt like something was missing? For a party, wedding or an
anniversary? Something to listen to or play? If you have, then you were missing
music. Music is something that everybody needs. It doesn t matter whatever mood
you re in because there s always a category for it. Music makes you feel good about
yourself no matter whatever reason you re listening to it for. I believe that music is
a way to express yourself not a reason to waste time in.
I remember when me and my family drove along in our family car going shopping.
As we drove to the highway, I remember that the radio was always on. There were
different types of music playing like pop, hip hop, classic, rock and other types of
music. I remember all those good times when I was little the laughter coming from
my younger siblings, the sun shining and the wind blowing though the window. I
also remember the landscape and the noises of the music exiting through the
window and entering the highway. Whatever song was coming on it left this happy
mood inside of me. It made me notice more things and made me feel light and
carefree. It made me feel like I had to make a difference in the world. It also got me
kind of antsy. But then again, that s what music does. That s what music does it ...

is that in any case you only need you re ears and your mind just to hear one song
and just to make a difference or to lift you re spirits up. For the most part, many
people use music when there stressed or just feeling terrible or out of it. When you

staying power, introducing new categories and developing line extensions, and
scaling up quickly, both in manufacturing and marketing ( WhiteWave Foods,

Earthbound Farms was acquired in 2013 and WhiteWave Foods was able to see a

An Analysis of the Lincoln Electric Company Harvard Case Study by Arthur Sharplin
By: Lauren N. IngramThe Lincoln Electric Company was a legacy company from
which the families personal values were incorporated in the beginning and continue
to be the fundamental beliefs compromising the company s culture. By creating and
implementing a culture of service, respect, and loyalty, the Lincoln Electric Company
has become an institutional leader in American business standards. Lincoln s culture
cannot be summarized by a single dimension of cultural analytics because of its
multifaceted culture that is innovative, outcome oriented, people oriented, and team
oriented The founder, James F. Lincoln used his Christian upbringing as the basis for
his vision of how he defined entrepreneurial success. The customers needs are first
priority, the employee second, and the stockholders are last. Quality and cost
efficiency are the two most important factors considered in their product engineering
and manufacturing. The hierarchy is stringent, however, the culture of the company is
greatly people oriented. This company has a strong culture that is instilled in new
employees from the beginning and continuously practiced by every member of every
facet in the organizational structure. To understand the morals of the founder, one
must understand the basic fundamentals of the Christian faith. Christians believe that

Essay On Group Bullying
Why do we hurt other people? Throughout history there has always been incidences
of violence towards other people. Someone can hurt another person unintentionally
or to get a message across, but the reasons why can become a long list depending on
the situation. From war to bullying, hate crimes, genocide the list of how people can
hurt others goes on. More specifically, group bullyingis a common phenomenon
people are more familiar with, hence there are many movies and books based on
bullying. Additionally, bullying or group bullying is a more day to day reoccurring
problem that individuals partake in, to which there are many possibilities why
individuals join in on group violence with bullying. I believe the reasons I am
going to state are not the only reasons, but are crucial to consider. Individuals join in
on group bullying for typically conforming to peers as gaining power is of interest to
the bullies while there is an issue of bullies not understanding their own behavior.
A factor that leads individuals to connect with others in group bullying is conformity
or the peer pressure to be included with the group bullies, which further induces
violent acts against victims. Conformity is when someone is influenced by another
person, thus the person being influenced changes their behavior to fit in with the
group. From a social psychological perspective, conformity in group bullying can be
explained by normative social influence and social impact theory (Aronson et al. 238).
Jean Valjean Throughou Quotes
Despite knowing what his fate might look like, Jean Valjean announces himself as an
escaped prisoner. This occurs when another man, Champmathieu, who is believed to
be Jean Valjean, is about to be sentenced to life imprisonment. Valjean, instead of
choosing a life of comfort and luxury, decides to rescue an innocent man and suffer in
his stead.
Valjean suffers and chooses the path of virtue because it is imbibed in his principles
and reflects the beliefs he lives by. Valjean also upholds his pledge to fetch Cosette
which was given to Fantine on her deathbed. Valjean is seen venerating motherhood
when he hands Cosette her mother s necklace. It is one of the most heartrending of
literary deathbeds when Valjean offers his summation on the misfortunes of a single

He makes right decisions disregarding the troubles he invites upon himself. He is
truly a romantic hero in Hugo s novel for the same reason. Trapped in the shackles of
time and circumstances, Valjean struggles to find a way to balance virtue without
harming his loved ones. Valjean s isolation and then radical uprising is not just
admirable but also inspiring. Valjean incorporates the bishop Monseigneur Myriel as
the voice of conscience, then follows Fantine s maternal example by adopting and
raising Cosette.13 Marius learns to love the father he never knew and, through him,

Otto Von Bismarck s Foreign Policy Affect The Creation
Of...
The creation of Germany was made possible through the great ideas of Otto von
Bismarck, the Prime Minister of Prussia. This investigation will explore the
question: How did Otto von Bismarck s foreign policy affect the creation of
Germany? The first source that will be analyzed is Jonathan Steinberg s Bismarck:
A Life. This is a very valuable source because Steinberg was a professor at
Cambridge University for 33 years teaching, he now teaches at the University of
Pennsylvania as professor of Modern European History. His teaching covers
modern Europe since 1789, primarily focusing on the German, Austrian Empires,
Nazi Germany, and Fascist Germany showing that he is very knowledgeable on
this topic. The purpose in writing this book is to illuminate the life of the
statesman who unified Germany but who also embodied everything ruthless about
Prussian culture (Steinburg i). Steinberg wants to give an insight on Bismarck s
life, the thinking, and how the type of person he was affected his plan in creating
Germany. In this book Steinberg heavily focuses on contemporary writing,
allowing Bismarck s friends and enemies to tell the story. I met and read the letters
and diaries of the greatest figures in Prussian society (x). This is a strength for it
allows the reader to see how Bismarck friends and foes viewed him as a leader
during the process. While the focus on contemporary writing is a strength, it is also a
limitation because some of the writing towards

What are the potential sources of the problem?
The source of these problems seems to be coming from two areas in Interwest

having with upper management. The hospital administrators and upper management
are not only having miscommunication issues but they also do not share the same role

But before any changes to the data entry process are made it is important to
communicate directly to the hospital administrators. It is important to have the
hospital administrators on board with the changes that will be made with the data
entry process. By gaining the hospital administrators consent with the changes this
will allow a smoother transition for the data entry change and it could provide a
positive change to the workplace. As for the changes to the data entry it would
most likely be a simple computer process along with small piece of paperwork. It
would be best to have some sort or paper record on file that would need to be
alphabetized along with a simple computer program. The computer program would
help ensure accuracy and would have the patient s data record on file which will be
easy to locate. There would be very little paper work for the process mainly because
it takes up space and takes more time to record. The paper work that is part of the
process would simply serve as a backup if the computers were down. The key to
ensuring accuracy with the data entry is to make the process as simple as possible so
it would minimize the errors.

School Uniforms are the Right Choice Essay
In the United States, millions of students attend public schools and face some sort
of violence that is associated, with that school. It can be related to gangs, bullying
or peer pressure from other students. Fourteen percent of students reported being a
victim of bullying in 2003 and 52 out of 220 incidents between 1994 and 1999 were
associated with gangs. This has led to non gang related students bringing firearms to
school to protect themselves. (D.Stanton, 2006) Because of these rising issues,
parents are being forced to pull their children out of public school and home school

In 1987, Cherry Hill Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland, became the first
school to adopt a uniform policy. (Education Bug, 2010) After this school s
implementation of a dress code, there was a dramatic increase in the use of school
uniforms in the United States; which was inspired by former President Bill
Clinton. President Clinton proposed a challenge to all public schools by saying, he
challenges all of our schools to teach character education; along with good values
and good citizenship. If it means that our teenagers will stop killing each other
over designer labels, then schools should require students to wear a uniform
everyday to school. (Brunsma, 2006) His speech was just the beginning of the very
controversial uniform debate, and people on both sides of the arguments have tried
hard to make sure that their case is heard. The main reason for implementing a
school uniform policy would be to increase children s safety at school. Gang
violence in schools is at an all time high. In 1989, a high school student from
Baltimore was shot and wounded in a fight over a pair of sunglasses that cost $95.00.
Since this incident, educators started restricting what students could wear. (Brunsma,
2006) By doing this, the violence in the school has decreased. According to Holly
Charlonne with Life Script, she states that gangs have a need to wear a certain color
to distinguish them from other neighborhood
Jesus Christ Died On The Cross For Our Sins
As believers, we are constantly reminded that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our
sins. His death and his resurrection are fundamental to our Christian faith. Without his
death, the relationship between God and His creation would have remained broken.
Unfortunately, many believers do not take the time to consider the complex and deep
meaning of Jesusdeath. If I have learned one concept throughout this class is that if I
do not have a personal comprehension of Jesus death, I will never be saved. His
death signifies salvation. It motivates us to imitate Jesus life as he was completely
human and never sinned, yet he died on the cross in the cruelest way. Personally,
Jesus death means love, reconciliation, redemption, and victory.
When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, sin entered the world and that
which was once good became corrupted. From that moment, we were separated
from God. Yet because we were made in His image and He love us so much, He
gave up his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. One of God s
attributes is His benevolence, which means that He loves and cares about all His
creation. He is also merciful, which means that He is very compassionate and tender
hearted towards us. I mention these specific attributes to emphasize the fact that these
attributes were also present in the person of Christ. Jesus said, He who has seen me
has seen the Father (John 14:9), meaning that if we want to personally know the love,
the holiness, the power
Skull And Bones Research Paper
Like other Yale senior societies, Skull and Bones membership was almost
exclusively limited to white Protestant males for much of its history. While Yale
itself had exclusionary policies directed at particular ethnic and religious groups,
the senior societies were even more exclusionary.[11][12] While some Catholics
were able to join such groups, Jews were more often not.[12] Some of these
excluded groups eventually entered Skull and Bones by means of sports, through
the society s practice of tapping standout athletes. Star football players included the
first Jewish (Al Hessberg, class of 1938) and African American (Levi Jackson, class
of 1950, who turned down the invitation for the Berzelius Society) students to be
tapped for Skull and Bones.[11]... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bones class of 1971 s attempt to tap women for membership was opposed by
Bones alumni, who dubbed them the bad club and quashed their attempt. The
issue , as it came to be called by Bonesmen, was debated for decades.[13] The class
of 1991 tapped seven female members for membership in the next year s class,
causing conflict with their own alumni association, the Russell Trust.[14] The
Trust changed the locks on the Tomb and the Bonesmen instead met in the
Manuscript Society building.[14] A mail in vote by members decided 368 320 to
permit women in the society, but a group of alumni led by William F. Buckley
obtained a temporary restraining order to block the move, arguing that a formal
change in bylaws was needed.[14][15] Other alumni, such as John Kerry and R.
Inslee Clark, Jr., spoke out in favor of admitting women. The dispute was
highlighted on an editorial page of The New York Times.[14][16] A second alumni

How Art Follow One Of The Five Formal Elements Of Art
All aspects of art follow one of the five formal elements of art. The elements are
line, shape, texture, color, and balance. Some elements are subdued, but some
paintings have elements that are very obvious. With the artists use of these elements
he states what his style is, as well as, the use of medium, and color that directs the
viewer s eye to a specific area of the painting. I will choose paintings to show these
elements, how they are used, and what idea the artist is trying to show, and give my
impressions.
The first element I will address is shape. There are regular shapes that are geometric
and irregular shapes that show motion. I have chosen, for shape, Little Yellow
Horses by Franz Marc, shown on page 829. This painting was completed in 1912.
The medium is oil on canvas in the Expressionism style. It is currently displayed at
Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart, Germany.
Here we have a painting of three yellow horses with exaggerated curvature and is
composed of open circles. The artist saw yellow as a happy color and thought
animals were more beautiful than man. The curves are accentuated by the black
manes of the horses. The two front horses have an added open circle with their
heads being down. The horse in the background has just a slight curve of his back
and the arc of his mane. In this work, at first glance, is a sea of yellow, black and
circles. Upon a closer look, the artist shows the beauty of the horse. The yellow along

Knighthood In The Middle Ages
Knighthood in the middle ages was a key factor in the defense and slow down of
corruption in the castles of several different kingdoms. Knighthood involved
devoting your whole life to learning and training in combat as well as manners and
generosity. Chivalry was the medieval knight s moral code that stated that knights
must be honorable, brave, kind, and generous at all times. The legend of King
Arthur showed great chivalry as well as bravery and courage, and helped to spread
the message of how great kings are as well as knights. Knighthood, Chivalry, and
King Arthur s legend are all prominent features in the Middle Agesand helped to

The entire process takes about fourteen years to complete. Knights would generally
come from a noble, or wealthy family. The honor of being a knightis typically passed

age seven in the home or castle of a noble. Here the page would learn a multitude
of basic skills such as court manners, care and maintenance of armor and weapons,
and how to care for a horse. The page s training for skills required of a knight often
involves practice of tilting a lance aimed at a target while sitting on a wooden
horse. Wooden swords and shields are used by the pages when practicing
swordsmanship. In certain situation, the page is sometimes used for sending
messages across the battlefield. Pages are typically promoted to the position of
squire at the age of fifteen for the next stage of knighthood training. The squire is
assigned as the personal assistant to a knight and learns about chivalry and receives
intensive weapons training from the knight. A squire has a brand new set of tasks
that included taking care of the knight s horses and cleaning the knight s armor and

The Shawnee Tribe, since first encountering Europeans in 1677, the group has
encountered issues, such as population decrease. But as of twenty first century, the
tribe has regained a following. For the most part, the Shawnee have abandoned their
nomadic roots. They have taken on modern tasks, realizing that they would need to
keep up with the times in order to survive. Currently occupying regions of Oklahoma
and Missouri, the tribe has split into three large groups, the Absentee Shawnee,
Eastern Shawnee, and Loyal Shawnee. Together, the three groups have around 8,000
members in total. The customs and traditions of the Shawnee have for the most part,

The Eastern Shawnee also maintained partial ownership in several oil wells near
the reservation. Each of the groups found ways to prosper, and in doing so, they
gained a following. Early 21st century population estimates indicated some 12,000
individuals of Shawnee relations, by descent or affiliation. The three main Shawnee
groups are striving for economic self sufficiency and they are meeting their goals.
They are better off than many tribes and have better housing, with casinos helping to
fund programs to improve the lives of tribe members and provide employment for
some of their people. In spite of the fact that the Shawnee tribe has encountered firm
improvements in the 21st Century, for example, a casino, school, and smoke shop,
the tribe has almost deserted their culture like their language and religions. Tradition
is important, but sacrifices must be made in order to survive. With the sacrifices, the
tribe has been able to flourish in the 21st century, andhe tribe is much better off than

Universal Declaration Of Human Rights Essay.pdf

  • 1. Universal Declaration Of Human Rights Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights can be both intellectually stimulating and challenging. On one hand, the subject matter is rich with historical significance, philosophical underpinnings, and a wide array of perspectives from different cultures and societies. However, on the other hand, this complexity can make it challenging to navigate through the vast amount of information and present a coherent and well-structured argument. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, encompasses a broad range of principles, from the right to life and liberty to freedom of expression and protection against discrimination. To write an effective essay on this topic, one must delve into the historical context, understand the socio-political climate during its creation, and analyze its implications on a global scale. Additionally, addressing contemporary issues related to human rights and evaluating the effectiveness of the declaration in today's world adds another layer of intricacy to the task. Furthermore, constructing a compelling thesis statement and organizing the essay's content coherently can be challenging due to the diverse nature of the human rights discourse. Balancing historical context, theoretical perspectives, and real-world examples requires careful consideration and a nuanced approach to ensure that the essay presents a comprehensive and well-rounded argument. In conclusion, while writing an essay on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is undoubtedly a formidable task, the intellectual rewards lie in the opportunity to engage with profound ideas and contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding human rights. The process demands critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. However, overcoming these challenges can lead to a deeper understanding of the complexities inherent in the pursuit of universal human rights. • 2. The Private Eye By Brian K. Vaughan In the graphic novel, The Private Eye, by Brian K. Vaughan, Marcos Martin, and Munsta Vicente, a society is depicted where people do not use advanced technology. In an event known as the cloudburst , a whole society has their personal information revealed. Due to the horrors of having no privacy, the people went into hiding for protection. Since the leaks of information came from using advanced technology, the people also decided to no longer use this type of material. This type of technology uses the Internet, which was also destroyed for personal safety. Now the people live in a society where libraries and books serve as forms of information. Due to the fact that the people did not have access to the Internet, they actually became more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the side effects of technology is how all information is eventually scrambled and means something incredibly different than the original idea. Comparatively, Telephone , a popular children s game, is where a child makes up a sentence and the sentence is passed by word of mouth in a circle. Once the sentence is back to the beginning, the children often laugh at how different the sentence is from the original. This is exactly what the advanced technology does. In the process of trying to understand the original message, advanced technology can make everything out to be a lot worse than it actually is. What once was an inspiring story about how to grow a vegetable can turn into a story about animal rights. With technology, information is moved around a lot faster, meaning there is a higher chance that something will be misunderstood in the middle. Everything that is put through technology is changed and altered. Correspondingly, a techno pessimist believes that people should solve problems, They do not have faith in technological fixes to solve social problems, instead emphasizing moral or political solutions (Techno optimism versus Techno pessimism). A techno pessimist believes that problems should not be solved by technology. Technology will always use logical problem solving techniques. Humans will always include emotional connection to create solutions. Technology may miss vital information that only the human heart can process and find
  • 3. Villa Grimaldi Analysis Memory literally means something that is remembered . In Diana Taylor s article, Villa Grimaldi, Santiago de Chile is the memory place where brings trauma to the survivors and tourists. As Diana Taylor said memory, we know, is linked to place... , I totally agree with her idea that when I go to where I have been, I can certainly remember or link to what was happened last time. For Pedro Matta, one of the survivor from torturing and detention, the memory of Villa Grimaldi only brings him pain and trauma. The difference here is that what we see in the model is no longer there. Even though we are present, we will not experience it in person . (p37) However, he still comes back to this place to give a tour to people from outside. I admire and
  • 4. Reflection On Shambhala Meditation Reflection on Shambhala Meditation A couple weeks ago, while perusing the web for fun date night ideas, I accidentally stumbled upon the official website for the Asheville Shambhala Center. The website broadcasted the center as a safe space for meditation and literary discussion under the tradition of Shambhala, a spiritual and philosophical school akin but not equivalent to buddhism. Although I certainly couldn t picture dragging my boo to sit silently for four hours on a hardwood floor in honor of our anniversary, the message of basic human goodness included in the center s description intrigued me. I decided to attend one of the Sunday morning meditationsessions in order to further investigate Shambhala ideology. My GPS protested... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, the lady described the importance of the senses in Shambhala meditation by describing them as the five tentacles of goodness with which we reach out to the world . I spent most of the rest of her speech mortified I would burst out laughing. Even in the moment, while I was dying to run to my car and privately cackle about the word tentacle like a ten year old, I recognized how disrespectful my thought process was. I was in the presence of a woman sharing a sacred practice used to connect to the divine, cracking up about a single word poorly suited to the context of the American south. It reminded me of our discussion about Sundiata concerning the sacred and the supernatural. To my horror, the practiceof Shambhala was so foreign to me, after one awkward moment my brain subconsciously filed Shambhala under the strange hybrid of eastern and western practices attempting to appeal to unsatisfied white folks while retaining its exotic appeal category, and discarded the spiritual significance of the practice entirely. After reflecting, I realized that the way I categorized Shambhala was disgustingly riddled with egotistical, American first bias, white people first bias. Since I was not familiar with Shambhala, it was easy for me to categorize the practice as ineffective and wrong, disregarding the deep spiritual significance the practice
  • 5. The Last Supper The Last Supper, by Leonardo da Vinci, is one of the most famous works of art in the world. This painting represents the religious ceremony with Jesus Christ and his 12 disciples. This is the last meal that was shared between him and his disciples before his arrest and his untimely crucifixion. Leonardo was commissioned to execute the painting in the Dominican monastery of this Church by Duke of Milan, Ludovico Sforza. Leonardo da Vinciwas an artist, scientist, architect, author, engineer, inventor, and humanist. He was born in 1452 near Vinci in Italy, and died in Amboise, near Tours France in 1519. The Last Supper measures 460 cm Г— 880 cm (180 in Г— 350 in) and till this day covers an end wall of the dining hall at the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a church and Dominican convent in Milan, northern Italy. When I see the painting the shape is symmetric in the sense that there are the same amount of people on both sides of Jesus. The genre of this painting is Christian art. There are also four panels on both sides of the walls. In my opinion, the target audience that this painting was intended for are those who are believers of Christ. I feel this way because I think that this painting portrays the event that is talked about in the bible in the scripture Matthew 26, verse 21 where Jesus says ... Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me. . He then continues in verse 23 saying, The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me . In the painting, you can clearly see the man two seats away from his right reaching for the bowl at the same time as Christ. This event lead to the Holy Eucharist, also known as communion or the Lord s Supper where Christ takes the bread which was to symbolize his body and wine which was to symbolize his
  • 6. Not A Sidewalk By Edward Bloor Stop letting people walk all over you. You re not a sidewalk. This is a quote that applies to the life of Paul Fisher. Paul Fisher is a 13 year old character played in the novel, Tangerine by Edward Bloor. Paul, who moved from Texas to Tangerine County located in Florida was disabled. His disability of being legally blind has been the shadow of his life. Paul has an older brother named Erik Fisher, a mother named Mrs. Fisher, and a father Mr. Fisher. Erik is the star kicker for Tangerine High School. All of Paul s life, Erik had been the fearful, scary older brother to Paul. In Edward Bloors novelTangerine, Paul s brother Erik, has a negative impact on Paul throughout the novel, but will his fear for Erik change throughout the novel?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fisher paid attention to Erik, even though he had done such a terrible thing to Paul. Overall, Paul s parents have been telling him a lie his whole life and this made him hate himself. The lie was that he is legally blind because he stared at a Solar Eclipse, but the reason he is legally blind is because Erik and Vincent s spray painted his eyes. This is emotional for Paul because his whole life he has been led to believe otherwise, but now he hates how his mom, stood up for Erik. Afterward, Paul reveals to the police that Erik and Arthur were involved in the death of Luis Cruz. On page 211 of Tangerine it states, Arthur reached Luis, turned, and whipped the blackjack around with a loud whack against the side of Luis s head. Paul s close friend Luis was smacked across the head with a blackjack by Erik and this caused Luis to have an aneurysm. Luis was smacked on the head because Erik had hit Tino, Luis brother in the face with a blackjack, so Luis got involved, and confronted Erik and Arthur. Paul is devastated because the aneurysm sadly caused Luis death. Luis was very helpful to Paul and seeing him dead made Paul despondent. Also pages 244 245 states, Luis Cruz is dead...I raised my hand and got Ms. Polland s attention. I said, I gotta go. I m sick again. Luis death made Paul sick to his stomach because first, they were close friends because he was kind of like an older brother to Paul. Also, Paul knows that Arthur and Erik are involved in the
  • 7. Comparing The Novel, Cain By Jose Saramago And Gilead By... The novels, Cain by JosГ© Saramago and Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, both present different perspectives of God and truth. Through Cain, a reader can gain a skeptical perception of God and ultimately, question the importance of religion. On an alternative side, while Gilead does not directly offer commentary to Godand religion, it is the source of its characters strength, especially with Robinson s character Ames. Either way, God and religion has a profound impact on Cain and Ames lives that not only expresses their relationship with religion but how God as an entity influences their life path. Saramago s Cain spends most of the novel bitter towards God for cursing him. From Cain and the Narrator s point of view, one can conclude that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clear that Cain s initial interaction with God was indeed a negative one but it created an outlet for Cain to question truth and to prove why religion s truth is incorrect. With the story of Job, That doesn t seem very fair of the lord...a good and upright man, and very religious too, he has committed no crime, and yet, for no reason, he is about to be punished with the loss of all his money and possessions, Cain questions why Job will be punished as severely as he was when Job followed the ideal pious path (Saramago, 122 123). In this instance, Cain is taking a protective role as well as a critical one when it comes to God s convoluted motivations, The lord and satan made a wager, but this man job isn t to know he is the object of that gambler s agreement (Saramago, 122). Possibly, Cain is able to relate to the citizens God tampered with since Cain felt he was not at fault for killing Abel, but rather, God was for not stopping him or giving him such a miserable life that led him to kill his younger brother. This idea that a misfortune, Job losing everything he worked for, is contradicted in Robinson s novel, Gilead since Ames mother saw bad luck as a blessing, That was a day s work lost for her, not to mention the setting hens and the fryers. She

Everything impacts one s actions, from how others act there, what day it is, where you are and even to the weather. In the novel The Book of Negroes, author, Lawrence Hill demonstrates how the setting of an event greatly impacts one s actions, emotions and even what skills they learn for survival. Hill best demonstrates this through the journey her main character, Aminata Dee, goes on. From her hometown in Bayo, Africa, to a slave vessel, following with life as a slave in St. Helena and Charlestown, and finally ending with her being free in London England. She is bought by a man named Robinson Appleby, who owns an indigo plantation. On this plantation, she is in an unsafe environment and acts out of fear and anger. It is thanks to a kind woman she meets on the plantation, named Georgia, that she is able to survive in this horrible place. After Georgia healed me, two things helped me avoid more troubles with Appleby: I never let Georgia s side when the master was around, and Appleby bought a new Negro woman named Sally (Hill pg.231 232) Because she is scared of Appleby and others on the plantation, after too many incidents where men have forced themselves on her, she adjusts her actions quickly. Instead of being on her own she insures she is with someone else at all times possible, and stays low so no attention is drawn to her. Not only this, but she must act dumb so that she will not upset the whites who own her. By adapting to her environment and learning to portray herself as a non threat, Hill reflects just how smart Aminata is, and how much where she is holds her back in life. After giving birth and having Appleby sell her child, Aminata refuses to work for Appleby and is sold to a man named Solomon Lindo. This man originally found out about her for being an amazing worker and first met her when he was inspecting Appleby s indigo plantation. When living with Lindo, she is given a back house to share with another servant who is pregnant. When we

Military Children Military Children on The Go I was not a military brat, the child of a person in the military, however I attended four different elementary schools before entering the fifth grade. I cannot say it was something easy; I rather think that destiny was preparing me to take care of my own military brats. Non militaryfamilies generally think that military brats will have problems adapting to new places with constant moves however, I have found through observation, personal experience, and research that they develop good coping mechanisms to adapt and become resilient. Constant moves are not easy. Children get sad and sometimes it takes time to adapt, but over time, and with the right support they learn to cope and become resilient. The journey ... • 10. The Disaster Of The World War I Surrounding me are the tremors of fear among my fellow man, the signals of looming catastrophe are knocking at my door. The Third World War is imminent and I realize the time has come to put my creation into action before the human race is annihilated through atomic weapons, bombs of mass destruction and horrors beyond the imagination. Through many years of mind wrenching labor I have put together a blueprint for an impregnable bomb shelter, one that will hold and protect twelve people for three months, long enough to ensure a sustainable life force on earth. This shelter that I have created, which is the only one throughout the entire world, will keep twelve people alive for three months. Even though, I have put my life works into building this shelter, I will not be of this earth for long due to a terminal illness. After hours of deliberation I have come up with twelve people that will inhabit this shelter. I have chosen these twelve people with care and speed, keeping in focus the three categories, survival, harmony and the continuation of the humanrace, so that we will prevail. As World War II came to a close, the catastrophe was a result of the reduction of humanity. The world was extinguished all, but the twelve people and the shelter that I have built. In order to get through the interbellum period, one of the most important aspects to maintaining life inside the shelter is survival. To orchestrate survival mode will be in essence, the ones to keep all alive to

  • 12. Essay on Walt Whitman s Song of Myself Walt Whitman s Song of Myself This paper deals with Walt Whitman s Song of Myself in relation to Julia Kristeva s theories of abjection my paper does not point to abjection in the text, but rather the significance of the abscence of abjection. This abscence, looming and revolting, arises from Whitman s attemt to refigure a conception of sublimity which delimits the material which can trigger the sublime moment. Whitman s democracy of the sublime is inclusive of those figures on the American landscape, their lives and voices, which are functionalized into his world. [1] The strange elegance of this specter looms in the relief, in the archaic layers of Song of Myself. It is beyond the foregrounded inversive space at times utopic and sublime, the space is permeated with universal brotherhood, happiness, the compelled sentimental that I attempt to delve into, that source from which generates the repulsive, hidden quivering of a text which, though cast out and forced into absence, looms in the shadowed relief. The edification of his text and of his readership is attempted through the construction of an inversive space which refigures the sublime: the apex of the cultured. I have chosen those moments in the text in which the poet nears the threshold of bordering abject in order to construct his sublime utopian vision. It is here, this marked refigurement where ecstasy occurs, where material which triggers the sublime is the signal of another text; a repulsive reading looms from the absence of abjection An invocation of the self begins Song of Myself, positioning the text as an edification of the American readership: I celebrate myself, and sing myself, And what assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as god belongs to you (lines 1 3). The poem tells the story of an anonymous lover, who is mourning over the death of a lost love, is being visited by a talking raven. The repetition of one word the raven uses is slowly driving him mad. The tone used in the poem gives a sense of mystery and supernatural things occuring. Poe did not only set himself up for success by writing this poem, but he also inspired others and influenced their work that they would do in the future. The Raven is known as one of the most renowned in English literature (source 4). Coming in a close second to the most famous poem he wrote is Annabel Lee. This was the last complete poem by the famous author. It was published in New York Tribune on October 9, 1849. He uses a reoccuring theme in the poem, the death of a lover. The narrator believed that because the relationship he had with Annabel Lee was close to perfect, the angels became envious and caused her passing. He felt as if their love was so intense that it could not be replaced. In writing this poem, he described a passionate love that everyone desires to have. Poe also wrote a wonderful piece with the title, The Haunted Palace. It starts out as

Manufacturing has the greatest impact on world trade since economies as USA, China, Germany or Japan, in which key merchandises exported are manufactures, for example cars or computers. Natural resources such as fuel and mining products also play a key role in the world trade, because every country needs to satisfy its needs of those resources, especially if such resources are not available in a country. Countries such as Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Nigeria and Venezuela base their exports on fuel and mining products, especially crude petroleum and petroleum gas. Agriculture also has an impact on world trade, because developing counties producing soybean meal or tea such as Brazil, Argentina and Kenya base their exports on this sector of economy. b.What observations do you make about how export and import trade vary with region of the world? The biggest export of manufactured goods occurs in Europe, Asia and North America. A remarkable export of fuels and mining products compared to their export of agricultural products and manufactures

These are the Nephilins, the giants of biblical accounts. How did they really come about? Who were the children of God? The search for these answers has always led theologians of various epochs to try to understand this fact and supposed relationship between angelic beings endowed with purely carnal desires and taken by voluptuousness, and women descended from a genealogy that abandoned the fear of God, as is the account found In the book of Jubilees, to give ... The initial step in the special education process is to identify if a child needs special services. Bryanna has been spotted by here teachers as a student that is struggling in math and reading. Southern Baptists, like my grandmother, are outraged about the thought of millennials spending their Sunday mornings in bed instead of sitting on a church pew. It seems as if young people these days are interested in direction through the works of God, but are not willing to give up those extra three hours of sleep on a Sunday morning. A preacher by the name of Joel Osteen recognized this gap and decided to put a new face on preaching the word of God. Joel Osteen is a Houston, Texas raised preacher of nearly 20 years now. After being raised by parents of ministry, he refused for many years to follow in his parents footsteps and to take his own path with life. Unexpectedly, his father, a southern Baptist preacher, fell ill due to kidney complications. His father asked him if he would give a sermon for him that Sunday. This sermon turned out to be the last sermon that his father would ever hear and Joel has devoted his life to ministry ever since. Joel began working for Lakewood church, which quickly became popular through his powerful sermons. As his fan base grew, he became the largest non denominational church in America, resulting in a TV program and thousands of podcasts. Joel s sermons are broadcasted all over the internet, spreading the word of God to 100 million homes in the U.S. and tens of millions more in roughly 100 nations (Osteen). This has made

Chaucer s Canterbury Tales Dishonesty and Hypocrisy in The Physician s and Pardoner s Tales Chaucer presents characters in the Physician s and Pardoner s Tales who are very similar to each other in one important way. Although the characters seem on the surface to be mirror images of each other, they have an important underlying similarity: both the physician and the pardoner are not what they appear to be to most people. Both are hypocritical, although they show this hypocrisy in different ways. One way of seeing this hypocrisy, in the case of the physician s tale, is to examine the way the similarities and differences between the knight Virginius and the physician himself in terms of what he sees as moral actions. It seems fairly clear that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tale as told by the physician, however, is problematic as a moral example, because (although Virginia may have had to submit to the judge s rule that he live with her), there is nothing in Apius ruling that would have forced her to yield her chastity to him. She would still have had a moral choice when she submitted. It may be that the choice would have come to nothing but consentual or nonconsentual sex with Apius. This is still a very important distinction in Christian terms, because without yielding her consent, Virginia would have been guilty of no sin. It may have been that she would have been dishonored in the eyes of society if she was to live with the judge, but she would have committed no moral transgression. By identifying himself with Virginius, by drawing on a similar story in the Biblical book of Judges to provide moral backing for his own story, and holding the tale up as a moral example of Christian behavior, the physician re frames it in terms of Christian ethics, although it is set in ancient Rome. It is understandable (although perhaps unusual to the modern reader) that a father would rather see his daughter dead than sacrifice her eternal reward in heaven; but once it is realized that her eternal reward, within the context of this tale, is not at stake, it seems absurd that a father would rather have his

My opinion here is in the consideration of Enns view in accordance with the scripture and I can easily conclude that, the author is not only wrong but grossly misrepresented the scripture. Enns strategically define the Spiritual gift in two ways; the first is basically as the grace of God or a divine endowment of a special ability of a service upon a member of the body of Christ (Enns, p. 282). The Hebrew or Israelite s (HoI) book of Genesis (2.5 3) and the Pandora Myth in the Greek poet Hesiod s Work and Days both include the creation of Men and Women. In each of these works, this creation plays a significant role in showing the relationship between human beings and gods (or God) in that culture. The order of creation (Man Vs Women) indicates the importance one sex has over the other. In the book of Genesis (2.5 3) and Work and Days, Men are created before women towards the beginning of creation. However, the basis on why women are created indicates the importance of women in HoI and Greek cultures. In the book of Genesis (2.5 3) woman is created to be a companion for the lonely man, but plays an important role helping humans become more human like. In contrast, the story of Work and Days tells us women are created to punish man and are the root of all evil. The process in how women are created also indicates their importance within these cultures. In Genesis, the woman is created from a man s rib, while in Work and Days the woman is created out of clay and the gifts of many gods. Lastly, how the gods (or God) treats man, preceding creation, may also indicate some insight to their relationships. In Genesis, we see God worry for man s well being, while in Works and Days man is being punished for something they didn t do. Both Genesis and Work and Days have similar orders of creation for both men and women. Preceding the creation of heaven and earth, the

Mortgage lenders are wary of payment shock, as they don t want potential borrowers to experience a drastic change in their payment schedules; such a shock could make it difficult for people to pay back loans in a timely manner. The types of loans available for potential homebuyers have also changed in time. An example of a type of mortgage is an Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM), a mortgage that has an adjustable rate of interest over a period of time, which is not as widely used after the collapse. Before the collapse, as long as a person qualified for the minimum rate of interest of the ARM they were eligible to be granted the mortgage. From there the religious experience has undergone many phases, overcame and resisted many civilizations, and is still standing after 4,000 years. The Jewish people consider the Torah to be their holy book that gives account for how they came to exist and what they believe. All of their commandments, based on the Torah include laws pertaining to the Sabbath, festivals, cleanliness, and duties to one another. Genesis 17 consists of God laying out the covenant between Himself and Abram. He tells him that he shall have countless descendants, he will be the father of a multitude of nations, his descendants will be fruitful, that they shall possess the land of Canaan forever, and that he is now to be called Abraham. God s one condition for the mark of the covenant was that all of the men were to be circumcised. In chapter 15, God told Abram, You can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years. But I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and in the end they will come away with great wealth. The book of Exodus entails the story of the Jews as slaves in Egypt and how God appointed Moses to lead them out of Egypt, through the wilderness, and into the Promise Land. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years before God allowed them to enter into the Promise Land with Joshua as their leader. In their wandering, God presented the Israelites with the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic covenant was formed. Before the Israelites entered the Promise Land, Moses gave them clear instructions on what would happen if they violated the terms of the covenant, saying, Today I call on heaven and earth as witnesses against

The effect of immigration have been looked at as positive and negative. The economy and government has been affected in a multitude of ways. The immigrants are offered sources for work and also economic support for them and their families yet many American citizens are without jobs and struggle to keep a household. Also many Americans do feel as if they are being pushed to the side when it comes to availability in work sources and the taxes people pay are going to the non natives who don t work but only live off of others benefits. With Immigration reforms and working to contain a stronger reform, it is estimated that immigration allows migrants to Contribute their talents and skills to economic prosperity for all (John Engler). Changing The Face Of Poverty Words provoke preconceived ideas and images in the mind, when it comes to a situation like poverty these preconceived notions can have undesirable and unintended consequences. Diana George examines the semantics and the imagery of the word poverty in her article titled Changing the Face of Poverty; Nonprofits and the Problem of Representation. While also addressing the issue of the perception povertyand what someone in poverty truly looks like (676). Prof. George is arguing that organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which are created to help people in poverty actually perpetuate the wrong image of what someone in poverty looks like (678). Most organizations created to help those in need, especially those in the US tend to portray poverty as what is seen and thought of as living conditions in Third Worldcountries (683). In reality, poverty is all around each and every one of us in this country on a daily basis, and people might not always recognize it for what it is (681,682). Furthermore, the majority of people living in poverty in the United States do not live like or look like someone living in a Third World country. But in reality they are still living in poverty nonetheless (682,683). Organizations that portray people living in poverty here in the US as totally devastated and completely impoverished are doing a disservice to the people they are attempting to help. Consequently, by doing this they are giving a limiting idea of what someone living in poverty

From war to bullying, hate crimes, genocide the list of how people can hurt others goes on. More specifically, group bullyingis a common phenomenon people are more familiar with, hence there are many movies and books based on bullying. Additionally, bullying or group bullying is a more day to day reoccurring problem that individuals partake in, to which there are many possibilities why individuals join in on group violence with bullying. I believe the reasons I am going to state are not the only reasons, but are crucial to consider. Individuals join in on group bullying for typically conforming to peers as gaining power is of interest to the bullies while there is an issue of bullies not understanding their own behavior. A factor that leads individuals to connect with others in group bullying is conformity or the peer pressure to be included with the group bullies, which further induces violent acts against victims. Conformity is when someone is influenced by another person, thus the person being influenced changes their behavior to fit in with the group. From a social psychological perspective, conformity in group bullying can be explained by normative social influence and social impact theory (Aronson et al. 238).

The first source that will be analyzed is Jonathan Steinberg s Bismarck: A Life. This is a very valuable source because Steinberg was a professor at Cambridge University for 33 years teaching, he now teaches at the University of Pennsylvania as professor of Modern European History. His teaching covers modern Europe since 1789, primarily focusing on the German, Austrian Empires, Nazi Germany, and Fascist Germany showing that he is very knowledgeable on this topic. The purpose in writing this book is to illuminate the life of the statesman who unified Germany but who also embodied everything ruthless about Prussian culture (Steinburg i). • 50. Jesus Christ Died On The Cross For Our Sins As believers, we are constantly reminded that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. His death and his resurrection are fundamental to our Christian faith. Without his death, the relationship between God and His creation would have remained broken. Unfortunately, many believers do not take the time to consider the complex and deep meaning of Jesusdeath. If I have learned one concept throughout this class is that if I do not have a personal comprehension of Jesus death, I will never be saved. His death signifies salvation. It motivates us to imitate Jesus life as he was completely human and never sinned, yet he died on the cross in the cruelest way. Personally, Jesus death means love, reconciliation, redemption, and victory. When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, sin entered the world and that which was once good became corrupted. From that moment, we were separated from God. Yet because we were made in His image and He love us so much, He gave up his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. One of God s attributes is His benevolence, which means that He loves and cares about all His creation. He is also merciful, which means that He is very compassionate and tender hearted towards us. I mention these specific attributes to emphasize the fact that these attributes were also present in the person of Christ. Jesus said, He who has seen me has seen the Father (John 14:9), meaning that if we want to personally know the love, the holiness, the power
